Furnaces for - structures are quite massive. Therefore, it is imperative to build a foundation for them. For a brick barbecue, a slab is best suited. A hole 35 cm deep is dug in the ground under it so that it is 10 centimeters wider than the wood log on all sides.

Formwork can be made from plywood or planks. The bottom of the pit should be carefully leveled. Further, sand is poured into it with a layer of at least 5 cm. Then the foundation is poured with a thickness of about 3 cm. After it hardens, a reinforcing mesh is installed. At the final stage, everything is poured with concrete. Prepare it in the proportion of cement * sand * crushed stone 1 * 3 * 5.

After pouring and standing the foundation, they begin laying the firewood. The brazier under consideration in the projection from above will have the form of the letter "P". Back wall can be laid out from three bricks laid on the bed with a spoon, side - from two. In order for the barbecue to be comfortable, the firewood should be made higher (10-11 rows).

Lay out the walls using the half-brick method. After five rows, they also make a "shelf" under the bottom of the firebox using the letter "P" in a brick method. The latter can be made from steel sheet... The next row is also laid out using the brick method, but already along the entire perimeter of the rectangle. In front of the bottom, under the bricks, you can put a steel plate or corner 50 * 50m.

Firebox masonry

Next, let's look at how to build a firebox. The masonry over the firewood is continued again using the half-brick method. The height of the firebox should be 10-12 rows. At the very top, holders for a steel rod are mounted into the masonry, on which the products for smoking will be put on.

Important: The firebox is best laid out from fireclay bricks... In this case, you should use not cement, but clay mortar.

How to make a chimney?

The chimney for the barbecue with your own hands can be riveted from 2mm tin. To do this, the steel is cut in such a way that the opening angle of the truncated pyramid of the smoke collector is approximately 60 cm, and the diameter metal pipe- 12cm. Such a chimney can be welded to the firebox through a steel corner. At the final stage, a hinged door for a smokehouse will need to be made from the same tin.
