As a heater a house from a bar. How to insulate a house from a bar from the inside: features of the process and choice of material

Much has been written about the insulation of a log house outside under siding, but despite the abundance of information, questions remain.

To be clear - we will provide arguments that are based on facts, dot the i.

Warming process wooden house special. Retaining the properties of the timber, you will receive desired result... To make your home warm, you need:
1. Understand what and why to do.
2. Know by what parameters to choose a heater.
3. Correctly produce insulation technology.

What are the stages of insulation?

External insulation of the walls of a log house is the last stage of the arrangement. Getting 100% return depends on the work done before. In order not to regret wasted funds, learn the rules that:

  • will save energy resources;
  • will increase the effectiveness of the insulation;
  • provide a comfortable indoor atmosphere;
  • will increase the service life of materials.

Rules are created based on the performance of the thermal imager. If a person puts on a sheepskin coat, but walks with his head bare, he will emit more heat to keep warm. So it is with the house. Therefore, in order not to heat the street, and therefore to save energy resources, insulate the roof and floor.

To caulk the walls or not? The answer is mandatory, no options. Whether the insulation is laid between the timber or not does not matter. After drying and shrinking at home, it will present surprises. Twist the wood so that in places you stick your hand in the gap. Explore the house - go around the perimeter with a lit candle.

Identify bridges of cold, make sure the gaps between the joints absorb heat. Don't rely on external insulation, it's meant for something else. Correct caulking will save you from problems with correcting the consequences of hack.

Having carried out the insulation inside, eliminating the “cold bridges” (ceiling, walls, windows, doors, floor), proceed to external arrangement... To do it right, choose quality materials, and don't go overboard with cover layer technology. You don't need too much - save finances, heat capacity of wood and get the desired effect.

What is the best insulation for siding?

There is no need to mention all the heaters. Let's deal with the materials that are asked about more often. The choice is between foam and mineral wool.

What is Styrofoam?

It is expanded polystyrene that does not absorb water. It is impossible to combine with a bar - the dew point (condensate) will be between the insulation and the wood. The moisture has nowhere to go. This will cause mold to develop. The fungus will shorten the life of the wood, it will become difficult to breathe in the house, and a musty smell of dampness will appear. Penoplex - solid foam, lasts 50 years, suitable for:

  • for insulation brick foundation, under plaster;
  • for floor insulation, which is filled with concrete;
  • for the ceiling, under filling with sand, sawdust, clay.

Mineral wool remains

Why choose this insulation? It is difficult to find a replacement for him, corresponding in price and quality. The material has a number of advantages over other products:

  • by heat capacity;
  • hygroscopicity;
  • a wide range of temperatures at which it retains its properties;
  • fire resistance;
  • ease of installation;
  • a large assortment;
  • reasonable price.

For external insulation at home from a bar, basalt wool is suitable. When buying, pay attention to the manufacturer. Give preference to European ones such as Ursa, Paroc, Isover, Rockwool. If you choose the right density, and do not violate the installation technology, these materials will last 40-50 years.

Basalt differs from mineral wool, which contains a binder of formaldehyde 2.5 - 10% and components: slag, charge, lime, clay, etc. It consists of volcanic diabase fiber and gabbro. It surpasses analogues in quality and durability.

It is an environmentally friendly product. Moisture, getting inside, does not saturate the fibers, but rolls up into droplets that are eroded. Therefore, the properties of the material are retained. Compare the characteristics of insulation different manufacturers, make an informed choice. Get a quality product so you don't have to redo your work in 10 to 15 years.

Insulation technology: we exclude timber rot in the future

To exclude mold and rot of the timber during further operation after external insulation, understand why this is happening. The enemy of wood is moisture, which is not eroded by contact with it for a long time.

Compliance with the basics of insulation technology will preserve wood:

Treat the walls with antiseptic agents before insulating them. Let the wood dry. Work in warm weather.

No insulating films, even if they are vapor-permeable (adhere to the right side), can not be sheathed with a tree: neither with outside, nor from the inside.

The dew point should be in the insulation, the mineral wool copes with this. The main thing is a snug fit to the bar: the fewer gaps, the better.

Too dense (rigid) insulation boards will leave gaps that will damp and cause wood to rot. Soft (more flexible) ones will fit more tightly, but will slide down when moisture is absorbed. We need a "golden mean" - mineral wool P125 / PZh175.

The thickness of the insulation is selected taking into account the diameter of the timber, the heating method and the climate. Do not sculpt too much - there is little sense, and the cost of materials will increase. Stick to values:

  • for southern regions - 50 mm;
  • for middle lane- 100 mm;
  • for the north - from 150 to 200 mm.

Two 50mm thick layers are better than one = 100mm. Make two battens. The first (from the bar) is horizontal, the second is vertical. This will strengthen the frame, keep the first layer of insulation from deformation (bear the maximum load), and block the joints of the slabs.

Choosing between wooden blocks and metal, give preference to wood (treat with an antiseptic). It does not collect condensate, but absorbs and erodes, that is, it breathes. Any guides for siding will go. This is a ventilated space.

Calculations using the calculator and focusing on SNiP norms give an error, since all components of R are not taken into account with an accuracy of 100%. These are indicative indicators that few people actually follow. Trust the intuition and experience of your neighbors.

Cover the fixed insulation with a vapor barrier (membrane). It allows moisture to pass through and protects against external influence... Air humidity in the atmosphere reaches 70 - 100%. Therefore, the film is necessary.

Thermal insulation of a house with mineral wool

To make the insulation work, create a ventilated facade. There should be a gap (5 cm) between the membrane and the siding, which is warm time well ventilated. This will guarantee the durability of the material and the dryness of the walls.

The choice of vapor barrier is an important step. Bandwidth films - not less than 1400 g / m2. This will keep your home warm and breathable. Secure the free ends with tape or a stapler so that the seal is not broken.

When laying insulation, do not delay the process. Mineral wool is saturated with moisture from the atmosphere, which will lead to an increase in volume. The density of the joints will be violated. This will affect the quality of the cladding.

Conclusion: Understanding what and why to do, you can cope with any kind of insulation. Eliminate unnecessary pieces of the pie. It is simple (from the side of the bar): prepared wall + tight-fitting insulation + membrane + ventilation + siding.

Savings during work or savings during further operation: we consider the benefits

In order not to indulge in calculations, I will give facts. Whether it is beneficial for you or not, decide for yourself. Saving energy resources on the face.

Fact number 1. Arkhangelsk region. Many houses have been built from timber 150 x 150. The fashion for insulation has not taken root there, so no one is in a hurry to warm up.

The need for heat and heating is one of the main ones, it is especially urgent for residents of countries with cold and long winters, such as Russia and Ukraine. On the outside insulation of the house, it is still necessary to design at the stage of building the house. This will help maintain a favorable temperature in the building, even in cold weather. Thanks to this, it becomes possible to use a beam, the thickness of which will not exceed 40 cm.

Thermal insulation does not only involve sealing gaps. This measure will be ineffective. The timber itself is capable of freezing at severe frosts... How to properly insulate a house from a bar - the best solution to this problem is insulation from the outside.

Advantages of house insulation from a bar outside.

  • A tangible decrease in heat consumption in the house by reducing its losses.
  • Additional protection of the house from outside harmful influences.
  • Preservation of the living space in the house without changes.
  • It is possible to change appearance at home as you wish.

Important details when insulating a house

  • It is important to choose the right insulation.
  • It is necessary to lay the material according to the instructions.
  • Calculate the thickness of the insulating material.
  • Take waterproofing measures.
  • Protect the blockhouse from harmful radiation and others.

External thermal insulation can be done in several ways:

  1. By means of a ventilated external façade.
  2. By means of polyurethane spraying.
  3. By means of foam insulation.

This method has a whole list of advantages, therefore, it is considered one of the best

  1. Relatively fast installation;
  2. Wide choose facing material;
  3. Excellent heat and sound insulation;
  4. The service life is about 50 years;
  5. Wide range of colors finishing materials;
  6. Significant reduction in heat losses and heating costs;
  7. High resistance to bad weather and atmospheric phenomena;
  8. The dew point is shifted to the outer wall;

How to insulate a wooden house

A layer of insulation is attached to the outer walls, then it is closed decorative trim.

  1. In order for the timber not to deteriorate, a free space is left between the insulation layer and the finish.
  2. First, marks are made for the beams, which will make up the horizontal crate, their step should be equal to the width of the insulation mats. The cross-section of the timber should correspond to the thickness of the mat.
  3. Using self-tapping screws, the bars are connected to the facade. A plumb level is used to regulate its position. It is necessary to provide a flat plane where the crate is mounted, so that at the last stage, the installation of the siding is of the highest quality.
  4. Insulation mats are placed in the crate. To do this, you need to firmly press them with bars against the wall. Then the insulation is fixed by means of special dowels.
  5. The air gap, the width of which should be more than 5 cm, will create conditions in which the wood will be preserved from decomposition. It is formed by mounting the bars on the crate.
  6. The last step is to install the siding.

Polyurethane foam spraying.

Pluses this method are:

  1. Insulation does not support the combustion process;
  2. The insulation does not rot and is not susceptible to the harmful effects of bacteria;
  3. Long service life while maintaining its qualities;
  4. Provides good sound insulation;
  5. Does not require additional fasteners;
  6. Is environmentally friendly in a clean way insulation;
  7. Easy, and, relative to other methods, quick installation.

It is mainly used for insulation of walls, foundations and basements of the house. It is widely used in the insulation of houses from a bar.

House insulation with polystyrene foam.

Insulation installation tips:

  1. Insulation boards should not be stored outdoors. When wet, they significantly lose their thermal insulation properties.
  2. It is possible not to use fastening materials if the pitch of the lathing beams is 15 mm smaller insulation. In this case, it fits into the spacer.
  3. It is necessary to follow safety precautions when working with insulation. It is recommended to use such protective equipment as: glasses, respirator, gloves and other means that can ensure safe handling of materials.

Attention! It is recommended to use a diffusion membrane to protect the mineral wool. It is a perforated film that allows evaporation to pass out, but prevents moisture from penetrating inside. Fiberglass and polystyrene do not need moisture protection.

Finishing

For this purpose, you should use wooden planks from such types of wood as; pine, larch, oak. Their thickness must be more than 25 mm. This material will allow the cladding and walls to breathe. Thus, the timber will be protected from rotting and decomposition.

Important! When installing the cladding, it is necessary to leave ventilation slots on the upper and lower edges of the facade. Visors can be installed to protect them from atmospheric agents.

New timber walls have good heat-saving characteristics. Their warming consists in caulking the mezhventsovy seams. Additional thermal insulation is required after several years when cracks and shrinkage of the building appear. When building a house, first of all, attention should be paid to the insulation of the roof, floors, windows and doors.

How to insulate a house from a bar: materials

All heaters can be divided into vapor-permeable and vapor-proof.

For insulation wooden structures vapor permeable materials are required. Their use allows you to effectively remove excess moisture from the walls.

The classic representative of vapor-permeable insulation for a house from a bar is mineral wool based on:

  • Fiberglass
  • Slag
  • Natural stone

The disadvantage of mineral wool is its high water absorption and reduced performance when wet. The best choice for insulation wooden houses stone wool is the most environmentally friendly material.

Vapor-proof materials are used for insulation stone walls and cement floors. When used for thermal insulation wooden surfaces measures must be taken to ventilate the wood.

Steam-tight insulation includes:

  • Styrofoam
  • Extruded polystyrene foam
  • Sprayed thermal insulation
  • Folgoizol
  • Other sheet and roll materials

Mezhventsovy heaters are a special type of heat-insulating materials for wooden houses.

These include:

  • Moss is a natural material with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.04 W / (m ºС) and antiseptic properties, protects wood from the formation of fungus and rot. Disadvantages - laboriousness of harvesting and laying, the need for repeated caulking after drying and fire hazard
  • Hemp and linseed tow has a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.047 W / (m ºС), supplied in bales, used for insulating cracks between logs, around windows and doors. Oakum has the same disadvantages as moss
  • Tape heaters based on jute and flax have a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.034 W / (m ºС). Their use significantly speeds up the work. Jute insulation is moisture resistant. Best features has a tape insulation consisting of jute and flax fibers in various proportions

Thermal insulation of walls from a bar

Preference should be given to external insulation, because at the same time:

  • Created optimal conditions for wall ventilation
  • The useful volume of the building does not decrease
  • Reduces the likelihood of water droplets forming on the inner surface of the walls

Thermal insulation of facades

The work is performed as follows:

  1. Remove areas affected by rot and mildew
  2. Cover the surface of the walls with antiseptic compounds
  3. Caulk the gaps between the beams, around windows and doors
  4. From slats with a width equal to the thickness of the insulation, a horizontal crate is made, while the distance between the slats is taken 2 cm less than the width of the stone wool slabs
  5. Insulation is inserted between the rails, installation is carried out in 2-3 layers with a shift of the joints
  6. The insulation is covered with a windproof membrane, the joints of the film are sealed with tape
  7. To the uneven bars horizontal lathing nailed vertically, it serves as the basis for the facing materials and provides a gap for ventilation of the thermal insulation layer
  8. Cladding the facades of the building

When insulating, the following rules are observed:

  • The bars of the crate are impregnated with an antiseptic;
  • Slabs of stone wool are inserted into a rasp; there should be no gaps between them
  • The windproof membrane is hung with the rough side inward
  • For fastening finishing materials, use galvanized nails or self-tapping screws.

Clapboard, imitation of timber, siding, block house, OSB and other sheet materials can be used as finishing materials.

Simultaneously with the thermal insulation of the walls, the basement of the building should be insulated. For this, it is appropriate to use PSB-35 foam. Its sheets are attached directly to the stone plinth using cement-based glue and umbrella dowels.

  • The surface is putty, sinking into the putty reinforced mesh and plaster
  • On top of the insulation, a vertical crate is made to which plates of artificial or natural stone, siding panels for stone or brick

Internal wall insulation

When insulating wooden walls from the inside, there are difficulties associated with airing them.

One of the ways to solve the problem is to create a gap between the wall and the insulation using lathing.

In this case, conditions must be created for the movement of air in the resulting space. In this case, materials with any vapor permeability can be used to insulate the walls.

For internal insulation, it is appropriate to use materials covered with a heat-reflecting foil-based film.

The foil reflects infrared rays, which can easily penetrate through any other insulation. Therefore, such thermal insulation is especially effective near heating appliances, for example, between radiators and a wall.

Insulation of floors

Thermal insulation of wooden floors is performed with slabs of mineral wool with a density of 120 kg / m3 or PSB 25 foam, inserted between the lags. Previously, a waterproofing film is hung under the lags.

For insulation of floors under a cement screed, PSB-35 foam is used. A layer of waterproofing is laid on the base, foam plates are laid and a cement screed is made. Lay on top flooring... When heating using the underfloor heating method in a layer cement screed pipes are laid.

Roof insulation

Thermal insulation of the roof of a house made of insulated timber is usually performed with stone wool slabs located between the rafters. From the side of the roof, the insulation is protected with a membrane, from the side of the attic - with a vapor barrier film.

When building a roof from sip panels, there is no need for insulation.

The roof sip panel consists of two OSB sheets, between which 200 mm thick foam is laid. The panels are laid on wooden base and are connected by bars inserted into the grooves at their ends.

If the attic is not heated, the floors are insulated. To do this, vapor barrier materials are laid on the ceilings, and insulation is placed on top, between the beams. The type of insulation can be any, including bulk.

So, the house from a bar was externally decorated, we go to interior design... You can familiarize yourself with popular materials for interior decoration.

Video about the insulation of a wooden house

Features of the Russian climate - strong wind, heat and frost, rains - one way or another, they require insulation of the home. Consider how to insulate a house from a bar in accordance with the norms and standards of heat conservation.

In general, insulation should be started even during the manufacture of a log house, laying an inter-row seal after each row of logs. Wood is a natural material that shrinks and shrinks over time. Therefore, a year later, after the walls of the log house have shrunk and shrink, repeated work is carried out on filling and thermal insulation.

Materials (edit)

As mezhventsovy heaters use only natural plant fibers, which are not based on any artificial additives. They provide an environmentally friendly atmosphere, do not emit harmful substances and unpleasant odors isolate sounds well.

All cracks and corners of the building are sealed with seals made of natural plant fibers.

Supporting materials

Experts do not recommend finishing the insulation of a log house with plaster finishing. The reason is that it gets worse as a result natural ventilation the walls are outside, which makes the wood more prone to rotting and rubbing. You need to prepare the following materials for work:

  • hydro-barrier;
  • bars for the frame with a width corresponding to the heat insulator;
  • the insulation itself - mineral wool, polystyrene, glass wool in rolls or slabs;
  • finishing - siding or lining.

Isolate the house from the interior or outside it is possible only after the completion of the natural shrinkage of the tree. It usually occurs within a year of operation.

Classification

Insulation of a house from a bar can be performed following materials: marsh moss, jute made from the shoots of this plant and is resistant to decay; linen tow and mezhventsovy felt. It is better to use polystyrene foam products in the last turn, since with prolonged operation of the structure, the layer may collapse and the appearance of fumes with harmful phenolic compounds.

Mezhventsovy felt is produced in three types: jute mezhventsovy - 90% consists of jute, 10% - of flax, linen felt (linen) of highly refined flax fiber and linen-jute inter-crown sealant - half of flax fiber, half of jute fiber.

About interior decoration

Insulation for interior decoration timber can be almost any. The most widely used are mineral wool materials from the manufacturers ROCKWOOL, URSA, ISOVER. They are believed to possess better sound insulation, low thermal conductivity, low hygroscopicity.

Mineral wool properties

The fibers of the material are made of basalt - an extra strong rock. The big advantages of mineral wool are its resistance to mold, fungi, insects, as well as the ability to withstand temperatures above 1000С.

In addition, mineral wool fibers have good vapor permeability, which allows vapors to evaporate rather than accumulate in the walls. An important quality of mineral wool is the absence of toxic substances in the composition.

The thickness of the slabs of the applied insulation depends on the width of the walls of the house itself. For example, for a timber of 150 mm, it will be correct to use only 5 cm of mineral wool. Thinner slabs are mounted in two continuous layers. Docking points must be covered to enhance the heat-saving effect.

Types of mineral wool

Mineral wool URSA is a mixture of dolomite (mineral) with quartz sand... Its main advantages are high elasticity and flexibility (facilitate installation) and excellent thermal insulation characteristics (the thermal conductivity coefficient of such a heater is 0.032 W / mK).

For the walls of ventilated facades, the Ursa FASAD material is used in the form of semi-rigid fiberglass slabs, pasted over with black high-density fiberglass. Additionally, the slabs are treated with water-repellent agents. Thanks to all these qualities, there is no need to install wind protection films.

Rockwool mineral wool is made of basalt rocks impregnated with a hydrophobic mixture - the chaotic arrangement of mineral fibers ensures high strength. Such material contains a minimum amount of binders. ROCKWOOL does not deform during operation. It is produced in various forms - rolls, plates, mats of various thicknesses and areas, which also differ in the degree of rigidity.

Mineral wool ISOVER is made on the basis of fiberglass and has excellent heat saving performance, shape stability and durability. The upper surface of such slabs is covered with fiberglass, therefore they do not require the use of diffuse membranes. When carrying out two-layer insulation, this material acts as a top layer.

Preparation for use

The thickness of the insulation used depends on which tree and by what technology the house is built:

  • for chopped logs, at least 15 mm of insulator is laid;
  • for laminated veneer lumber, a layer of 5 to 10 mm is sufficient.

All work on sealing the walls must be carried out simultaneously along the entire crown in order to avoid distortion of the frame. All gaps must be sealed both internally and externally. Before carrying out work, the blockhouse is carefully inspected, all cracks are identified and caulked. Special attention at the same time, they pay to the processing of the corners of the log house. Digging alone is clearly not enough.

Insulation from the inside

After the walls have been compacted, work is carried out on the internal thermal insulation of the dwelling. They consist in laying a layer between the walls and the material for interior decoration. As the latter, gypsum fiber or drywall is often used. For internal insulation use insulation with a vapor barrier that prevents vapors from impregnating it.

Insulating a house from a bar from the inside has the following risks:

  • cracking of the tree and the formation of condensation is possible;
  • decay of the log house;
  • decrease in the usable area of the room and deterioration of the interior.

Insulation outside

The best option for insulating a wooden house would be to create a ventilated facade system with air gap- the updrafts will themselves remove unnecessary moisture. Such a system has high heat-shielding qualities and ensures the dryness of the walls.

You need to pay attention to the sealing of windows and doors, the floor, the device floor slabs and attic. Floor insulation is carried out by laying a layer of waterproofing, heat insulator, on top of which a layer of vapor barrier is placed.

Beginning of work

To begin with, the entire surface of the walls is well treated with antiseptics and fire retardants. After processing, gaps and gaps are eliminated at all joints and between the timber. Gaps are bridged polyurethane foam or seals that are used when laying a log house. Most often it is linen, jute fiber or ribbon tow.

After sealing all the gaps, vertical bearing rails are packed onto the walls. The distance between them is left slightly less than the width of the future insulation material. This is done for easier and tighter entry into the structure.

Styling

Between the bearing rails, starting from the lower side of the wall, the sealing plates are laid. The slabs are fixed with anchor fasteners, while the joints are located close to each other and to the edges of the sheathing.

The second frame row of beams is fixed horizontally. Mineral wool slabs are installed in the gaps between them. In this case, the upper slabs should overlap the joints of the underlying layer. The second layer of heat insulator is also reinforced with anchors. In addition, the very densely elastic structure of fibrous plates contributes to a sufficient secure installation material between the battens of the sheathing.

A diffusion membrane is fixed on the surface of the insulation, permeable from inside for steam and air, but completely closed on the outside for wind and external moisture. This layer will perfectly protect the insulator and the tree under it from adverse weather conditions.

Thermal insulation in regions with high humidity will be correctly supplemented with a vapor barrier film. In this case, the vapor barrier is installed directly on the surface wooden beams walls.

Ventilation and trim

Frame for exterior decoration must be fixed so that between the finishing layer and the heat insulator remains air gap for ventilation of water vapor. Indeed, on the surface of the insulation, external moisture will inevitably condense, which should be able to evaporate.

An external facade finish is mounted on the frame. It can be lining, siding or polymer panels. You can decorate the building with a block house - a polymer that imitates wood with its texture and pattern. It is important to prevent heat loss through other areas - roof, floor, foundation, windows, doors.

Attic, doors and windows

The technology of insulating the attic of a wooden house is as follows:

  • on false ceiling the attic is covered with a vapor barrier layer;
  • insulation is laid on top - mineral wool or expanded polystyrene;
  • a layer of waterproofing is laid on the insulator and a crate of boards is mounted.

Ideal for the installation of doors and windows - the use of two-chamber metal-plastic or wooden double-glazed windows and double doors, as well as the obligatory presence of an entrance vestibule. Finally, before choosing a method for thermal insulation of a log house, it will be correct to make sure that such a procedure is necessary in principle.

log house insulation cake

There is only one negative point in the construction of timber houses. In the future, the time will come that we will have to do the insulation of the floor and walls. There are various construction companies that guarantee to build a house from a turnkey bar, as well as insulate the walls of the house at the initial stage, assemble a log house (see how to cut a log house) and facade decoration. The quality of the work performed also depends on the lumber used in the construction - quality timber ripe forest.

  1. Wall insulation is the main task, since the walls are in contact with the external environment.
  2. Insulation of the floor in the house is especially an important milestone in insulation.
  3. The roof of the house is insulated with mineral wool, it is also possible with expanded polystyrene. This is necessary in order to avoid heat loss, which rises and cools from the roof.
  4. Insulation of door or window openings made with polyurethane foam. Old windows are insulated with heat-insulating film and rubberized tubular insulation.
  5. We have already talked about the insulation of the foundation - you can read

A house that will be protected from all sides is a kind of thermos. It always keeps cool in summer and warm in winter.

How to insulate a house from a bar outside. Almost everything matters. Among all, it is necessary to note the most important factors such as:

  • choose the right insulation for your home;
  • calculate correctly required thickness thermal insulation material;
  • strictly observe the technology of laying the house;
  • complete all waterproofing measures;
  • protect the log house from the effects of negative ultraviolet rays;
  • and much more.

Thermal insulation of a house from a bar outside produced in several stages:

  • it is necessary to make a gasket of a special seal between the crowns of a log house, and also to make thermal insulation of butt corner joints;
  • make a caulking of a log house if necessary (see caulking a log);
  • make external thermal insulation for the facade system;
  • perform internal thermal insulation for plastering.

We must also not forget about the thermal insulation of roofing systems. Because the heat leaks into winter period can lead to negative consequences due to the done incorrect thermal insulation of the roof. This can lead to the following consequences:

  • disable roofing material;
  • form ice and icicles;
  • increase energy consumption to provide heat in the house.

There's a lot insulation material, which can be used when insulating a house from a bar: stone and mineral wool, polystyrene, glass wool. Polyfoam contains up to 97% air and provides a high thermal insulation index. Stone wool characterizes high resistance to fire.

The main stages, thermal insulation

Vapor barrier.

  • In order for there to be no steam, it is necessary to use roofing material, a vapor barrier, plastic wrap or aluminum foil. All insulation is applied one on top of the other, for tightness, and all joints must be glued with self-adhesive tape.
  • Next, you need to mount a frame made of boards (thickness about 50 mm, width a little over 100 mm). The boards are nailed to the wall and leave the distance between them much less than the width of the insulation, so that there are no gaps left.

Installation of battens for insulation of a house from a bar

Thermal insulation.

  • After the frame of the house is knocked down, you can start laying the insulation. Insulation plates are inserted between the boards. Thus, glass wool is also installed.

Wind isolation.

  • For wind insulation, a polyethylene film with high vapor permeability is used. If such a film is not available, you can replace it with roofing felt. A layer of windproofing is always nailed over the cotton wool to the frame of the house.
  • For cladding, you need to take wooden boards with a thickness of more than 2.5 centimeters (oak, pine, larch).

The most important step for insulating the walls of a wooden house from a bar outside.

Insulate wooden house from a bar is an important stage in the process of reducing energy costs and further provides high level comfort of living. Construction of a house assumes finishing in the future facade decoration... It is at this time that it is necessary to think about the insulation of all structures. It is also necessary to take into account our harsh climate, for this, all houses from a bar must be insulated from the outside, in order to obtain a comfortable home.

Insulating such a house has a number of advantages:

  • the ability to change the facade of the house;
  • thermal efficiency increases sharply;
  • thermal insulation protects all walls from environmental influences;
  • always the inner space remains unchanged.

Thermal insulation scheme

Insulation outside a wooden house from a bar can be done in three ways:

  1. Insulate the walls with foam.
  2. Ventilated facade.
  3. Insulate the walls with polyurethane spraying.

There is a ventilated facade the best view insulation with a number of advantages:

  • quick and easy installation;
  • a huge selection of facing materials (siding, wall paneling, facade board, porcelain stoneware, brick, strip profile, composite, block house);
  • high level of sound and heat insulation;
  • long service life of about 55 years;
  • various colors of finishing materials;
  • reduction of heating costs;
  • resistance of the facade to weather conditions.

Insulation technology.

Insulation layers are attached to the walls outside the house, which are then covered with decorative trim. In order to provide ventilation of the walls between the decorative trim and the layers of insulation, some air space is left, which does not allow the timber to damp, freeze and rot.

What material can be used to insulate all exterior walls of the house under siding?

Insulation of a house from a bar outside can be done by yourself. To do this, we need to insulate the outer walls, that is, revet them with siding. For execution necessary work you need a tape measure, screws, a hacksaw, a level with a plumb line, a ladder.

How to choose a material for insulating the walls of a house for siding?

For external insulation of a log house, most often insulating materials are used:

Each of the listed heaters has a number of advantages and disadvantages. But in turn, there are some requirements for the quality of insulation for external insulation of houses:
  • high thermal insulation;
  • heat exchange between the external and internal environment of the house;
  • environmental friendliness.

To do this, it is necessary to lay the insulation under the siding cladding. First, horizontal basting is made for the beams, the step of which is equal to the width of the insulation mats. Then glued laminated timber is attached to the facade with self-tapping screws and at the same time its position must be controlled with a plumb line. The most important thing is that the plane of the crate is always even, then the installation is guaranteed to be of high quality. It is necessary to lay insulation mats in this mounted crate, which fit tightly to the bars and the wall. All layers of insulation are fixed with special dowels. It is also necessary to remember about the air gap for ventilation so that the tree does not get damp and does not rot. The gap should be more than 5 cm. And only after all, the installation of the siding begins.

A few tips when laying insulation:

  • While doing construction installation house insulation, insulation plates must be stored in a covered room so that they do not lose their thermal insulation qualities.
  • When working with these heaters, do not forget to use protective equipment (glasses, gloves, respirator).

How is insulation under siding carried out?

Laying insulation under siding in a house from a bar or log

In the cold, harsh season, houses need to be heated. To reduce heating costs, the facade of the house must be insulated. There are many ways, but the principle is the same - this is bearing wall, layers of insulation and further exterior decoration.

To do this, we need a wooden profiled beam of various sections, a tape measure, insulation, a hacksaw, self-tapping screws, a screwdriver. What is the best way to insulate the facade of a house?

The most important requirement for all heaters is environmental Safety... If in given quality only mineral wool is used for insulation, it is necessary to protect it from moisture with a diffusion membrane. Using a special perforation, such a membrane once prevents moisture from penetrating from the outside and letting in the steam generated due to the temperature outside and in the house.

If this is not done, then the insulation will always damp. The membrane is a perforated film, fixed with a stapler to the surface of the outer walls, which are covered with insulation. Insulation from expanded polystyrene does not always need protection from moisture and does not require laying a protective film.
