Marble

Just like a self-leveling floor, marble is quite a hard and durable material. He is also not afraid of moisture, scratches and also does not lose color for decades. Only unlike the first, it has a natural origin.

The disadvantages can also be high cost, difficult to process– for working with marble are required special tools and professional skills. This stone is considered soft, so a heavy object, if dropped, can damage the integrity of the floor slab. In addition, marble is afraid of acid-containing substances - they leave dark spots on it.

Tiled ceramic floor

Ceramics refers to natural materials, it is absolutely hypoallergenic and moisture resistant. It retains heat well, so the tiled floor is often used as the top finish coat for underfloor heating. The tile is perfectly washable and perfectly tolerates cleaning with the use of cleaning agents.

However, it is not without its shortcomings. If the coating has a glossy texture, there is a high risk of slipping. If the surface is too rough, dirt can linger in its depressions, which is then difficult to wash.

If the floor is tiled over a large area, then it is believed that the room is becoming more status and a certain amount of comfort is lost. Therefore, designers often combine tiles with other types of coatings.

Combined floor

Ceramics looks very good in combination with wood and wood-like textures. In this case, it is parquet or laminate. This floor has practically no flaws, unless you like different textures. But in this case, you can choose materials that are similar in design.

Finishing

Each type of flooring has its own finishing technique. For example, linoleum or carpet most often does not require any additional preparation. Enough to measure right size and put on the existing surface. However, it may not be perfectly even.

In the case of laminate or parquet, some preliminary preparations must be made. If there are significant irregularities on the floor, they must be eliminated. And the parquet or laminate board itself is laid on a bedded substrate.

As for the warm floor, there are several varieties of it, each of which requires an individual approach. For a water-heated floor, a preliminary concrete screed is required, on which it is laid special film. If you do not have special knowledge, it is better to invite a specialist.

Electric underfloor heating can be of converter type or with infrared radiation. They don't need prior concrete screed and can be installed by yourself.
