Sliding glass screen for a bathroom. Do-it-yourself bath screen Do-it-yourself bathroom screen

Often in the bathroom, a person feels constrained. Many are worried about the drops that scatter throughout the room. As a result, bathing turns into discomfort rather than joy. But there is a thing that can correct this situation - this is a do-it-yourself sliding bathroom screen. This interior detail is presented in the most a variety of options, but no special knowledge is required to install it. It is easy to install, so this work can be done on your own.

Screen advantages

This decorative fence has a number of advantages:

  • Protection of the premises from splashed water;
  • The transparent material of manufacture does not add bulkiness to the room;
  • Easy care;
  • Aesthetic appearance.

Types of screens

There are structural differences in screens. They can be:

  • Wireframe;
  • Frameless;
  • Combined.

Frame screens

They are presented in the form of an aluminum frame with ordinary glass or 4 mm thick polycarbonate inserted into it. The frame can include one or more frames.

Important! If the water is sprayed hard enough, it is better to pay attention to the frame screen, which includes several sections.

Here's how they can be arranged:

  • Usually these are two fixed glass parts located at the edges and two movable ones - the door and the side wall. Moving parts are enclosed in aluminum frames, sliding on rollers along the profile.
  • In the event that the location of the bathroom is a niche, then a screen is installed, consisting of two doors. One of them is a fixed glass, the other is a sliding door. An aluminum frame is also used to frame the sash.

Frameless screens

Such a decorative element is made of thick tempered glass, the thickness of which is 6-8 mm. The aluminum frame is then not used. Thicker glass is intended for the production of fixed bearing parts of the screen, and thinner glass for moving parts. An aluminum profile is used for fastening to the wall and bathroom.

Combined screens

Such screens can be:

  • Folding;
  • Sliding;
  • Opening.

The opening can be hinged or hinged. Sliding screens have guides along which moving elements move.

Material for making

Before the do-it-yourself bathroom screen is made, you need to choose the material for it. Usually they use:

  • Polycarbonate is a versatile durable material that perfectly copes with temperature extremes and exposure to moisture. Its main characteristic is its high impact strength, so there is no need to fear the appearance of cracks on the product after a strong impact. In addition, this material is very lightweight, easy to install and operate.
  • Glass is an aesthetic material, the attractiveness of which does not disappear even after many years of operation. No fungus forms on it, the material is easy to clean with simple means for glass and rubber brush.

Important! If the choice fell on a glass screen, you should pay attention to the triplex material - very durable, which does not crumble into fragments due to deformation.

  • Plastic - practical material, which attracts, first of all, low cost. Its main drawback is not as much strength and durability as other options. But, on the other hand, plastic is produced with a wide variety of colors and decor.

How to make a screen with your own hands?

In the event that the store does not have the required size product, you can make it yourself. Besides, homemade option will cost significantly less.

Important! If you are planning to install the screen yourself on the bathtub, it is better to choose plastic, since it is easiest to work with this material.

First of all, we will get necessary materials and tools:

  • Plastic;
  • Profile;
  • Handle;
  • Self-tapping screws;
  • With a simple pencil;
  • Drill;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Construction knife;
  • Sealant;
  • Roulette;
  • Level.

  • Take measurements from the future screen.
  • Using a construction knife, cut out a panel of the required size from plastic.
  • Using the level, we make markings for the plastic profile.
  • On the walls we mark the places in which the profile will be attached.
  • We make holes in the wall for fixing the profile.
  • Using self-tapping screws, we fix the profile on the wall.
  • We fix the lower profile on the side of the bathroom.

Important! It is better to fix the lower profile with a sealant - this way the bath will not be damaged.

  • We give the sealant a day to dry.
  • Insert the plastic panel into the profile.
  • From the side of the opening, the screen is limited to the same plastic profile, onto which the handle is then mounted.
  • We check the performance of the system.

Important! The same materials and the same principle are used to make the bathroom screen. It is used to disguise ugly communications and home chemistry.

Bathroom screen: how to install yourself

Greetings dear readers. I recently bought an inexpensive but beautiful bathroom screen and I think it's time to install it. So that the editing experience is not wasted, I propose to see how I will do all this, especially since I will photograph each stage.

For your information! If after my review you still have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them in the comments, I will be glad to answer everything.

A few words about what I will install

The bath screen was purchased from Leroy Merlin. As for the assortment and prices, I will give a table further, since I have seen a lot of interesting things.

The Chinese partition is called Primo, made of thick tempered frosted glass. By weight, this is precisely glass, since plastic is many times lighter.

Metal rails are attached to the partition, which will bear the load from the partition. Considering that the glass partition weighs a lot, the rail needs to be fastened only to a solid dense wall.

How to determine which wall is vicious and which is not?

  • The wall, which has not been repaired since the times of the USSR, clearly requires repair;
  • If the tile leaves in places, the mounting surface must also be strengthened;
  • If, when tapping the wall, the tone is too different, then the wall may not be strong enough.

If the mounting surface is not properly strengthened, the rail can be pulled out with dowels, I don’t even want to talk about what this will lead to.

Installation work

I listed the main stages of installation in the diagram.

When performing installation work, the following materials and tools:

  • glass partition in the configuration specified by the manufacturer;
  • silicone or acrylic sealant;
  • dowels (we choose the length according to the type of wall);
  • masking tape;
  • water level;
  • screwdriver;
  • measuring tool and pencil;
  • electric drill with drills for the diameter of the dowels;
  • manufacturer's instructions for installing the partition in case of questions.

Well, it remains to find out how the bathroom screens are installed. Installation work was carried out as follows:

  • I unpacked the packaging and laid out the partition and accessories, so that everything was easy to reach;

  • I disassembled the side profile that was used to complete the screen and separated the mounting rail;

  • Marked the wall by the bathtub for the holes in the rail;

  • I drilled holes in the wall to the depth of the dowels;

  • I inserted dowel seals into the holes and hammered them in with a rubber mallet;

  • A strip of sealant was applied to the reverse side of the rail;
  • Attached the rail to the wall and screwed in the dowels;

  • I inserted a profile into the rail and screwed on the fixing screws;

  • I installed glass in the profile, in the lower part of which I put on a rubber seal;

  • Then the glass was finally aligned and the fixing screws tightened;

  • Over the fixing screws, I put on plastic caps painted in the color of the profile.

Now that you know how to install the screen for corner bath, I will list a number of recommendations for the successful implementation of installation work:

  • When making holes for dowels in the tiles, we do not drill in the perforation mode, but in the drilling mode;
  • Before drilling the holes, glue the tile surface with masking tape;
  • In order to prevent the ingress and accumulation of condensate, fill all the gaps with a sealant;
  • Silicone or acrylic sealant will dry for at least a day, so you can start using the bath no earlier than after 48 hours;
  • By setting glass partition, use work gloves with a rubberized work surface;
  • If the wall is old, install the holder rail not on 2, but on 4 dowels and use longer dowels;
  • Do not forget that the screen contains instructions and for each question look for an explanation there.

What to buy

So, now you know how to install a bathroom screen yourself. It remains to decide what you can buy in the store today.

In the table I listed those screens that I saw and felt in the Leroy Merlin store.

In accordance with the type of production materials, I will note the following modifications of screens:

  • Glass - an outwardly attractive option, the price of which is higher than the cost of other modifications;
  • Plastic is the most common and most practical variety to use.

According to the opening method the screen can be folding, sliding, hinged... The design of the partition is frame - based on metal or plastic; frameless - strength is ensured by the thickness of the glass; combined - combines elements of frame and frameless structures.

How not to buy, but to do it yourself

Before buying a ready-made partition, I was interested in how to make a bath screen with my own hands. It turns out that this is quite possible.

Of course, a homemade screen won't look as great as a store-bought item, but you can try it to save money. Do-it-yourself partition can be assembled from different materials, but I will talk about glass blocks and polycarbonate.

Polycarbonate is good for its light weight, besides, it is easy to drill and cut.

In order to do it you need to collect supporting frame, that is, a frame on which it will be possible to fasten sheet material... To assemble the frame, it is advisable to use aluminum profile, as a last resort you can apply wooden slats, but they will have to be impregnated with linseed oil so as not to rot and painted with moisture-resistant paint.

On the surface to which the polycarbonate will adjoin, we apply a sealant so that condensate does not subsequently enter the gaps.

The obvious advantage of polycarbonate is its low price and a wide range of colors. As a result, the partition will not be expensive and you can choose a color to match the interior decoration.

Glass blocks are a classic solution in the arrangement of bathrooms. But, unlike the gray muddy Soviet glass blocks, today you can buy almost transparent, neatly made blocks with which it will be pleasant to work with, and the finished screen will look great.

The assembly of structures from glass blocks is not much different from brickwork... As masonry mortar I recommend using tile adhesive for external works as it is resistant to humidity and temperature fluctuations.

Conclusion

A properly selected bathroom screen is the detail that will make the bathroom in your apartment more comfortable and cozy. You can ask questions about the installation of partitions in the comments to the text. By the way, a lot of interesting things can be found by watching the video in this article.

The plumbing market offers a wide range of plastic and acrylic curtains, partitions and screens. Most inexpensive option- rubberized or glued curtain, but it is also the most impractical. Also, due to the inconvenience in use, polyethylene curtains are a thing of the past.

The best option among shower enclosures and partitions is a screen. You can buy it or make a unique fence with your own hands. Screens have silicone seals that do not allow moisture to pass through. They are located at all joints and connections, which will provide protection against water leakage outside the ceiling.

The bathroom screen will give you the opportunity to use the bathroom as a shower

In multiples, the bathroom screen is primarily:

  • durability;
  • beautiful appearance;
  • high quality.

A screen for any size of the bath, for small or large, will be an excellent protection against leaks or splashing water while taking a shower, and the strength of the materials will ensure the reliability of the structure.

Some models slide completely towards the wall for easy access to the bathtub.

Bath divider options

For the production of fences, plastic or glass is used. Modern European manufacturers present different options made of safety tempered glass. Glass can be clear or frosted, sandblasted, patterned, etc.

Externally, the screen can be of various configurations, which will allow you to choose the right model for a bath of any size or shape.

The suitable height of the screen can be varied at the request of the client. The height of the screen is considered to be running 150-170 cm. The width depends on the length of the bathroom.

By the way of opening, the screen for your bath can be:

The most compact model is considered to be a screen with an "accordion" mechanism, it is perfect for a small bath.

Glass models

A glass screen for your bathtub is a guarantee of quality and durability. Despite the usual attitude to glass as a fragile material, when purchasing a glass screen, you should not worry about the strength and reliability of the structure.

For the manufacture of the structure, safety glass is used, the strength of which is comparable to the strength of a car windshield. With such strong glass, you should not be afraid that the screen will crumble or crumble from the impact of an awkwardly closed door.

Glass screens for the bathroom are very popular among domestic buyers. So, a glass screen for any form of a bath looks more aesthetically pleasing than its competitor - a curtain.

The screen, depending on your taste, for the bath can be of tinted glass, transparent or with a pattern. Due to the fact that the glass is visible, the bath does not seem cumbersome. The price of the product also depends on the choice of glass.

Bathroom glass screen

Glass does not require special efforts when cleaning, it is easy to wash, moreover, modern models screens have an antibacterial coating that provides additional protection, and also provide easy flow of water along the walls of the screen.

Plastic Models

Be a worthy competitor by right plastic screens for a bathroom can not in any way, including other alternative materials. The fact is that, despite the advantages in price and ease of installation, plastic and polystyrene quickly lose their original attractive appearance. The plastic fades, fades, the white panels acquire an unpleasant yellowish-gray tint.

Plastic bathroom screen

If, nevertheless, for any reason you decide to give your preference to these materials, purchase a model with matte finish... It will help plastic for a long time visually appear new.

What kind of screens are there?

Each structure can be with or without a frame. Combined models of screens are also found in structure.

With frame

Frame screens are a structure consisting of frames. So, the frames themselves can be one or several. For the frame, aluminum or polycarbonate is used, into which any type of glass is inserted. The usual frame thickness is 4 mm.

The best solution is a frame screen with more than one section. The model can have a pair of fixed sections and several opening sections, as a rule - two (side and door leaf) Such a screen model is indispensable if a huge amount of water is sprayed when taking a shower.

For a bathtub installed in a wall recess, a screen of two wings is suitable, one of which is immovable, and the other is movable.

Without frame

Frameless screens do not have an aluminum frame, therefore, the glass thickness of the fixed part is higher than that of a frame screen and is 6-8 mm. The sliding doors are made of slightly thinner tempered glass.

Fixed screens without a frame can have one sash. Such a screen has a rounded shape and is suitable for people who carefully take a shower under weak pressure water.

Fastening principle: on an aluminum profile to the wall or to the bath itself.

You can also pick up a single-wing screen that will open 180 є and automatically close at an angle of 35 є.

Combined

Combined screens have more options. By installing a movable screen of two sashes, you can also close the sash towards yourself.

There is an opportunity to pick up in your home suitable model based on personal preference. Focusing on the size of the bath and the room itself, as well as taking into account nearby standing furniture, you can choose the screen according to the opening method. There are folding, sliding and opening models of screens on sale.

Models that fold on hinges and hinges are called folding models.

Combined screen

The sliding screen mechanism is based on the work of the guides along which the movable elements slide. There are models of screens that are attached to the wall and have only one door that opens outward by default.

Do it yourself

If you want, why not save money and make a screen with your own hands at home?

If you have never worked with glass, it is better to use a material such as plastic for the screen. After all, working with glass, you will also have to drill holes for the hinges, and this requires some experience, in addition, such procedures are not so easy and convenient to do at home.

To work you will need:

Stages of work:

  1. Getting started, first remove everything required dimensions the future screen and cut out the panel of the required size from the plastic.
  2. We take the profile and using the level we mark the fastening of the profile on the wall on both sides.
  3. We drill holes for self-tapping screws.
  4. We fix the profile.
  5. We attach another profile to the side of the bath, securing it with a sealant so as not to spoil the surface.
  6. When the sealant is dry, mount it in the profile.
  7. To the top plastic panel we attach another plastic profile.
  8. In the place where the structure will open, at the edges we fix the profile and the handle to it.
  9. We check the work of the structure.

By the same principle, it is possible to make a screen under the bath, the so-called screen, behind which you can hide everything necessary items for the bathroom (for example, household chemicals) or passing communications.

If you still want a glass screen, you better do not stint and buy a finished product.

The screen will become indispensable in the bathroom, with it you will feel the charm of a shower cabin, when not a single drop falls outside the fence, and the screen design will fit ergonomically into the interior.

No matter how carefully water procedures are taken, drops of water will still spray on the walls and floor in the room. This increases the risk of falling as the tiles become slippery and create dampness in the room. The bathroom screen is designed to solve these and other problems. Unlike conventional curtains, which look cheap and sometimes tasteless, installing a screen will favorably emphasize the design of the room and the taste of the owners.

What are the screens?

Partitions are divided according to the following criteria:

Structures of any type are made from the following materials:

  • polycarbonate;
  • glass;
  • plastic.

The first is a versatile polymer plastic that is able to resist high level humidity and temperature fluctuations. The light weight of the material is combined with high strength, which simplifies assembly work... A transparent type of polycarbonate is used for the curtain.

Glass is inferior in strength to polymer plastics, but has a more attractive appearance. The material does not form microorganisms, which also allows it to be used in conditions high humidity.

Cleanse the septum with special means which are sprayed onto the surface and wiped off with a rag. If you follow the rules of care, the glass screen will last for many years.

It is better to choose plastic when the budget is very limited. This material has the lowest cost and the lowest strength. Plastic is short-lived, but if properly cared for, it will last a long time.

Plastic screen and its features

Plastic constructions are the most popular. They are cheaper than polycarbonate or glass products, have various colors, are highly moisture resistant and lightweight.

Thanks to the latter factor, it is easy to do it yourself. Such advantages of plastic bathroom screens make the material attractive to the user. However, do not forget about the disadvantages that the products have:

  1. Short service life... The average service life of the material is 3-4 years. Over time, the septum loses its color brightness, becomes cloudy, and forms yellow tint... Cheap plastic can react with chemical means designed to care for the bathroom.
  2. Low strength... Products are easily damaged. The solution is to purchase a more durable material - polycarbonate.

The dimensions of the screen can be any, as well as the number of shutters. This allows you to choose a product for any plumbing and decorate the room as you wish.

Glass bath screens have more aesthetic appearance, are made of toughened impact-resistant glass. Features of glass partitions:

  • resistant to aggressive chemicals;
  • mold or mildew does not form on them;
  • service life is much longer than that of plastic;
  • have low thermal conductivity;
  • they are easy to wash;
  • are made from natural material.

The disadvantages are:

  • large weight of the structure;
  • low strength;
  • high price.

Most often they choose transparent, tinted or frosted glasses. Partitions with colored inserts and decorative elements are less popular. Models consist of one or more sections and have different designs.

Classification by construction

For baths, choose a sliding partition, like a shower screen. Mobile structures do not need free space near the place where water procedures are received. At the same time, they reliably protect the room from splashing water. Stationary products are installed on the sides of the bathroom or fixed to the walls.

There are such design features of partitions:

  • frame;
  • frameless;
  • combined;
  • composite or solid.

Frame screen, consisting of plastic or metal frame, allows the use of polycarbonate or glass panels. The product has high degree reliability.

Frameless screens are made of toughened impact-resistant glass. Often they cover only half of the bath, and the edges are rounded. Such structures are called angular.

The frameless screen can be opened using the swing method or sliding. Hinged models swing in or out. V rare cases install a fixed screen.

What to consider when choosing?

Before purchasing a product, pay attention to the following features:

  1. Number of leaves... The choice depends on the length of the bath.
  2. Sash sizes... They must be the same. Standard height- 140 cm, but the parameters may differ depending on the depth of the bowl and the height of the ceilings.
  3. Material quality... It is better to choose glass products with a thickness of at least 6 mm. The material must be hardened and impact resistant. The polycarbonate partition can be 4 mm thick.
  4. Hardware quality... It is necessary to pay attention not only to the basic material, but also to the fasteners. They all need to be strong and water-repellent.
  5. Transparency degree... It is advisable to install tinted partitions in the combined bathroom. Transparent screens will not visually divide the room into sections.
  6. Attached to the walls or sides of the bathtub... Fixation points play important role... Consider in advance the possibility of securing the partition.

How to make a screen with your own hands?

You can start making a screen with your own hands if you have the skills to work with the selected material. For example, glass requires special knowledge to process it. Otherwise, expensive material can be easily damaged.

First, a drawing is created in which all the nuances are indicated. It is made even for a simple stationary fixed structure. It displays the dimensions of the frame and canvas. Then you need to make the appropriate markings on the sides of the bath and the walls to which the screen will be attached. Use building level to keep the lines straight.

The next to do the assembly work with the frame. The work depends on the type of construction. If the partition sliding type, it is installed on a special slide along which the sashes move. To do this, part of the profile is attached to the side of the bath, and part is at the top. To securely install the structure, fix the profile to the wall with dowels.

After installing the frame, they proceed to inserting the canvases. For self installation polycarbonate is more commonly chosen because it is easier to process than glass. Then all the cracks are sealed so that water does not seep out. Allow the sealant to completely harden, the side profile cannot be touched at this time. This will break the integrity of the contact with the wall.

Conclusion

Bathtub glass screen, sliding or stationary - the best option both from an aesthetic point of view and from a practical point of view. However, you should consider the budget and the design of the room. If planned independent work, order the production of glass or contact a specialist to give the material required sizes... Plastic is much easier to work with.

A partition made of such dense materials reliably protects the room from splashing water. You can choose a product of any design, construction, shape, color and material. A wide range of products allows you to purchase a ready-made screen or all necessary elements for self-made.

Video instruction

Bathroom screens serve several important functions. Firstly, they protect the room from high humidity and reduce the likelihood of injury due to a damp floor, and secondly, they allow several family members to comfortably use the combined sanitary unit at the same time. In addition, screens make it possible to add a zest to the design of the bathroom, to emphasize its style. What are the curtains for the bathroom and how to choose a design - read the article.

Bathroom screens are divided into mobile and static. Static partitions are fixed, more often single-section models that are attached to one wall adjacent to the plumbing. Such partitions are a flat cloth in a frame made of plastic or corrosion-resistant metal.

Movable bath curtains include the following designs:

  1. Swing... Such curtains, according to the principle of operation, resemble ordinary interior doors... The products are made of polycarbonate or glass, have an attractive appearance, and they are easy and simple to use. The disadvantages of the design include the fact that for normal opening of doors, the space next to the bathroom should be free.
  2. Sliding curtains are a structure of several canvases that move along guides. Roller sliding doors are considered to be of the highest quality. They can be made of plastic, glass, look modern and save space in the bathroom.
  3. Foldable... Such mechanisms are compact: if necessary, the folding curtain can be quickly placed against one wall, easy to install and operate. The accordion curtain can be made of textiles, plastic, glass.

In addition, there are front and corner curtains. The first ones are suitable for bathtubs that are placed between two walls tightly adjacent to the plumbing. The latter are for corner baths or typical models with two open sides.

Plastic shower screen: features

Most often, plastic screens are chosen for the shower. This choice is explained by the availability of the design (a plastic sliding screen from Leroy Merlin can be purchased at a price of up to 4 thousand rubles), the moisture resistance of the material and the static nature of the curtain (in contrast to textile models, which quickly get wet and stick to the body). Moreover, plastic construction has a low weight, thanks to which the screen can be easily installed with your own hands, without outside help.

Today, the most popular manufacturers of high-quality plastic screens at affordable prices are RADAWAY, RAVAK, Roltechnik, Riho.

Among the disadvantages of plastic screens, one can distinguish their short service life (on average 3-4 years), a change in the color of the shutters (over time, the curtains can become cloudy, acquire a yellowish tint). In addition, low-quality plastic easily breaks down, can react with household chemicals and release substances harmful to human health.

A more durable, temperature-resistant and attractive option is a screen made of polymer plastic - polycarbonate.

A partition made of any kind of plastic can be transparent and tinted, have various sizes and the number of doors, which allows you to choose a product for any plumbing and bathroom design.

Bathroom glass screen: advantages and disadvantages

The glass bathroom screen is made of impact resistant, tempered glass. A glass structure can be either static or mobile, have a matte, transparent canvas or glass with drawings, colored inserts, decorative elements.

The glass curtain in the bathroom has such advantages as:

  1. Moisture resistance. Glass, reacting with water, does not change its characteristics.
  2. Expensive, stylish look. Glass products look much more attractive than plastic ones.
  3. Long service life. Depending on the type of construction, the glass curtain lasts 12 years on average.
  4. Ease of maintenance. To maintain the curtain in proper shape, you should only wipe it after each bath with a regular cloth. Once every two weeks, you can wash and disinfect the sash with any detergent(preferably without abrasive particles).
  5. Environmental friendliness. Glass is a natural material that does not react with cosmetic products and household chemicals, does not emit harmful substances depending on the temperature regime, does not absorb dirt and grease.

The disadvantages of glass curtains include their high, in comparison with plastic products, the price (a simple Primo curtain with frosted glass will cost the buyer 3.5 thousand rubles), and a fairly large weight (the installation of such structures should be carried out together).

Sliding bath screen: how to choose a design

Most often, mobile structures are chosen for baths and showers: a movable screen does not require free space next to the bathroom and reliably protects the room from splashing water. In order to sliding screen served for a long time, and its operation was comfortable and reliable, it is necessary to carefully approach the issue of choosing a model.

So, before buying a product, you should take into account:

  1. Number of flaps. Sliding sashes are available with two, three and four elements (for example, the Mezzo front screen). The latter case assumes the presence of two movable doors. The number of doors depends on the length of the bathroom. It is better that the curtain occupies the entire length of the plumbing, ensuring reliable protection rooms from splashing water.
  2. Sizes of the shutters. The leaves should be the same size among themselves. The height of the structure must be at least 140 cm (depending on the height of the ceilings and the depth of the bathroom).
  3. The quality of the material. The glass screen must be made of tempered glass with a thickness of at least 6 mm. Screen made of polycarbonate - at least 4 mm thick.
  4. The quality of the fittings. The curtain must be equipped with a moisture-resistant profile, fasteners, handles and guides.
  5. The degree of transparency of the material. So, for combined bathrooms it will be more logical to purchase a curtain with matte, tinted glass or polycarbonate. The transparent curtain is ideal for a small separate shower room: it will not visually divide the room and the shower room will seem more spacious.

If you want to purchase a screen made of tinted, frosted or colored glass, you should take care of additional lighting over the bath and shower area.

DIY bathroom screen

You can make a screen with your own hands. The type of construction depends on the availability of special equipment, the skills of the master.

The manufacturing process of any screen includes the following stages:

  1. Creation of a design drawing. Even for the simplest single-leaf, fixed partition, it is better to create a drawing on which the dimensions of the canvas and the frame of the future product will be indicated.
  2. Wall markings for the curtain frame. The markings are made from the sides of the bathtub and along the walls set aside for the installation of the curtain. In this case, you should use the building level.
  3. Installation of the frame. The type of frame depends on the type of construction. So, for sliding structure you will need to install special guides along the sides of the bath and at the top of the frame. It is recommended to fix the frame under the canvas both to the adjacent walls and to the sides of the bathtub. The frame can be made of plastic, moisture-resistant metal.
  4. Installation of the canvas. Most often, for self-production they choose cellular polycarbonate: easier to fix than glass.

After installing the canvas, all joints of the structure with the walls are coated with silicone.

Do-it-yourself bathroom screen installation (video)

A bathroom screen is an indispensable element that reliably protects a room from splashes. Today, you can choose a curtain for any plumbing, room design, taste preferences and financial capabilities of home owners. Screens made of glass and polycarbonate are considered the most reliable: they are durable and moisture resistant, guarantee safety and comfort when using the bathroom. At the same time, the products look modern and attractive!
