Consider the procedure for attaching extensions to door frames with a groove on them. The sequence of operations performed in this case may look like this:

First of all, it is necessary to install in place and properly fix the door frame (you can also hang the door itself, which will not interfere with the placement of extensions).
After that, you should adjust the extensions in length by trimming them to the required size.
Then it is necessary to measure the amount of indentation from the wall slope to the edge of the door frame (preferably in several places). During installation, it is advisable to stick masking tape at 5-7 points on each additional element along its entire length, which will ensure its more reliable fixation in the mounting grooves.
Finally, you can fill in the gaps between the extension and the wall with mounting foam.
After the foam has hardened, it is necessary to cut off all its excess and proceed to the fastening of the platbands.

Installation of extensions without a groove

In this case, immediately after fixing the door in the opening, it will be necessary to carefully measure the unclosed part of the wall (up to the slope). After trying on the elements of the addition in place, they must be cut (it is best to do this along their long side), after which it will be possible to stick pieces of edge tape on both end parts.

With non-plastered slopes, the fastening of the extensions is carried out using a small bar, which is attached to the slopes so that one of the sides of the extension can be fixed on it. The beam must be set strictly according to the level, which ensures the correct orientation in space of the installed elements. The order of fastening the top dobor is as follows:

First of all, the dobor element is attached to the bar.

To do this, it is enough to measure the distance from the floor to the horizontal extension.

After that, it will be necessary to cut off the extensions longitudinally so that their end faces are flush with the wall. For what, at first all extensions are fixed in the mounting position. And then, from the wrong side, an even thin rail is applied to each of them (you can use the rule), which is in contact with the wall. And at the point of contact of the rail with the dobor, markings are applied.

However, before cutting off the extension, the resulting line should be mirrored to the opposite edge of the extension. This is done in order to ensure that the cutting line is located inside the mounting groove, and the factory end can be visually open area flush with the wall. Cutting off the extension is best done using electric jigsaw, using a nail file with small teeth.

At the next stage, it is desirable to provide a mechanical connection of the extension elements with the base box. For these purposes, recesses with a diameter of 0.7 - 1 mm are drilled at the ends of the extensions (from the side of the cut), which are located in increments of 20 - 30 cm from each other. After the foam has completely solidified, all the excess should be cut off and fixed to the end part of the mounted additional cashing elements (using specialized nails).

Alternative methods of fixing extensions

Sometimes fixing dobors is performed alternative ways, which include mechanical fixation (using liquid nails or ordinary carnations). However, the implementation of this kind of work is associated with certain difficulties. There are two main ways to install this:

to eliminate voids between the door niche and the wall, the extensions are wedged;
the groove is formed from one large and several small wooden bars screwed to the door block. Below we will consider the installation according to the second method.

Make four measurements at different distances from the door niche to the edge of the wall.

Mounting the dobor with a snug fit in the groove. First, the upper and then the lower extensions are installed at a right angle.

Secure the board in place with masking tape.
Fill the resulting voids with mounting foam, after it dries, cut off the protruding parts.
Installation of platbands.

Sometimes situations arise when the wall is too thick. Manufacturers have foreseen such a problem and provided several constructive solutions. So, for example, additional boards can be connected to each other with special adapters or with the help of slotted joints. If the add-ons you purchased look like regular board, their connection can be made as follows.

Join two boards, tightly applying one to the other. It is required in advance to saw off a part of one of them according to the required width. Using self-tapping screws, you need to attach one long or several short strips to the back. Planks can be made of plywood or fiberboard. The hole must be drilled according to the diameter of the screw head. In the same way, you can attach the extension to the box. Holes for self-tapping screws will need to be made in the box.
