Next we move on to cutting out the legs. To do this, we make two marks at 15 cm and 11.5 cm and connect them smoothly, making a rounded corner. We also smoothly draw a rounded corner for the inside of the leg, stepping back the width of the leg by 6 cm. By this principle, we cut out the remaining three legs.
Then, as in the figure below, we outline the position of the first rod of our sidewall. To do this, we retreat 4.96 cm from the side and mark the edge of the rod hole, then we retreat 1.2 cm (that is, the width of the rod). Then again we retreat 4.96 cm and repeat the steps above on the entire lower frame of the crib. We get 19 equally distributed rods.
Similarly, we measure and drill the same holes for the rods in the upper slats of the sidewalls.
We fill these holes well with ordinary PVA glue and insert our wooden fence rods into them. They must be tight. We lay the sides on a flat surface until completely dry. Using measuring instruments, for example, a square, align the rods again and leave overnight. Better to have more glue. Excess glue that squeezes out of the holes can then be easily removed with a slightly damp cloth.
In the same way, pour glue into the holes of the upper planks of the side panels and install them in place. Do not forget to constantly align the structure, we are waiting for the glue to dry.
As a result, we got two ready-made sides of the future children's bed.
We fasten the remaining panels to these sides with screws (the future headboard and footboard). The screws must be sunk, their heads must not be palpable. We do not worry about these holes, later they will be puttied and polished.
So that the bottom does not fail, we install prepared strips to support it. We fix them with screws (distance 1.0 cm from the bottom of our frames).
The last step is to insert the remaining part, which will be the bottom of the future crib.

First you need to make a base of four bars with a length of 1200 millimeters each. This design is the vertical support of the bed. After installation and fixing, a small piece is sawn off at the top of each support bar at an angle of 45 degrees. This is necessary for the further development beautiful roof with two slopes.

Roof assembly

It is necessary to screw in bolts and self-tapping screws at a distance of up to 4 millimeters from the junction lines of the two parts of the roof. This should be done without pressing too hard, as the wood tends to delaminate.

A little tip: when you drill the entire structure, use a vise. Drilling should not be very fast, use only drills from high-quality, suitable for the tree material. After screwing the two roof slats to the supports, the frame of the future house is obtained.

Gradually, our creation takes on its final shape. The procedure is repeated with the remaining parts. As a result, we get two identical frame structures - these are the walls of the end of the house-bed.

Frame fixing

To complete the end frame composition, it is required to screw an 820 mm bar down. This baluster is a cross support holding the mass uprights designs. This measure keeps the entire bed in balance.

The distance from the transverse bar of the bed to the floor of the room is 150 millimeters, since the project implies that the bed has legs. But this does not mean that you have to repeat everything thoroughly. The bed can be without legs. In this case, the transverse beam will need to be screwed close to the lower edge of the vertical supports, without indents.

Please note - an eccentric screed was used to assemble the side parts of the crib. It is also important to note that for such a fastener reception, your calculations must be very accurate. The result will be hitting the right spot. If such gluing turns out to be too difficult for you, then it would be better to use self-tapping screws. Then you need to additionally buy flat corners measuring thirty by thirty millimeters. This approach greatly speeds up the process and simplifies the assembly itself.

If a design with corners is easier and faster to assemble, why do some people still stop at gluing? The answer is simple - iron corners look less stylish and aesthetically pleasing. The eccentric adhesive liquid firmly and securely holds all parts together, their connection is hardly noticeable.

Related materials and items for the screed process can be purchased from specialized stores for repair and construction. For such concealed installation it is required to drill holes in the bottom bar of the bed using the previously indicated 11 mm drill. The hole should be located clearly on middle line on the crossbar. Please note that the hole is through. Its depth reaches 130 millimeters.

The hole separates about 40 millimeters from the edge of the crossbar block. Here it is worth paying attention to the size of the bolts and screws used. The next step is to drill a neat hole on the side, just in the middle of the beam, with a six-millimeter drill. It should fall clearly into the recess made by us earlier. A screw must fall into the resulting opening, then the entire structure is fixed with an eccentric.

Another good tip. You can put all the wooden parts of the bed on long self-tapping screws, pre-treating them with an adhesive. Please note that the connection must necessarily be balanced using angle brackets.

Assembling the base of the house

To assemble this part, we will need several thick bars with a section of 40 by 70 by 1660. They will meet the characteristics of the sides of the crib. From the inside, thin planks (10 by 70 by 1660) are screwed to the wooden bars with the help of self-tapping screws.

Be sure to keep an eye on so that the screws are always at an equal pitch from each other. These plates serve as a support for the installed frame that supports the bottom of the house-bed. The frame frame has already been assembled by us with the help of a gluing liquid - screed. At this stage, it is critically important to accurately measure and adjust everything, to avoid mistakes in your own calculations.

Prefabricate from a piece wooden block template 6 cm long. It has several holes for screws. They are located at a fixed distance of 25 millimeters from each other. With its help, the estimated holes on all other future racks are measured.

With help wooden template and a pencil mark the place for the holes. It is important to draw marks on both sides of the bars on all four crib posts. It is important to place the upper end of the template exactly at the level of the upper edge from the transverse bar of the crossbar.

After finishing the basting, a drill of 6 millimeters is taken, through holes are made in the marked places. A similar procedure is performed only four times - the vertical racks are tightly and securely connected to the sides of the bed.

On the inside of the longitudinal rack, you need to outline a place for the future hole into which the eccentric is placed. It is produced with a 10 mm drill. outer side processed, after which screws are screwed into it greater length- up to 10 centimeters.

It is important to consider that the self-tapping bolts should smoothly enter the prepared holes, connecting the verticals with the side parts of the bed. You can also additionally perform gluing the structure.

Particular attention should be paid, of course, to the junction points. After all the operations performed, the adhesive liquid is poured into the holes of the lower tier, after which the bolts are tightened. You need to carry out a similar operation with all parts frame structure, then connect all this with the sides of the bed-house.

General frame fastening

The sides of the house-bed are already securely screwed to the ends. Now follows the strengthening of the overall structure. This is done with the help of four bars. For this we will use parts 1660 millimeters long.

Be sure to take into account that the length of the beams must exactly match the length of the sides of the crib. All components are fixed in the same way as in the previous stages - with the help of an adhesive mixture and self-tapping screws. Do not forget also about the additional strengthening of the composition with the help of corner fasteners.

Production of the rack bottom

In this case, the crib has slats from the old slatted bed. If you do not want to use the old bottom or do not have one, then the hardware store can offer you an excellent alternative - specialized lamellas. These beds are suitable for standard mattresses.

The slats are fastened directly on flat planks, on the sides they are fixed to the four sides of the frame base. You need to twist all the parts one to the other so tightly that the parts of the screws do not stick out of your product. You can also leave a small gap between each plank - in this case it was 8 centimeters. For the bottom of a standard mattress, it took 14 rails to be screwed.
