Mattress repair

Repair consists in applying a patch to the damaged area. For the smooth side, the following method is used:

1. The puncture site should be circled with a marker. Clean this area lightly and degrease with solvent.
2. Cut the patch out suitable material, preferably without sharp corners. So the fastening will be more reliable.

1. Compositions for gluing inflatable products are flammable. Don't spend repair work near fire sources. Do not inhale glue fumes, work in a protective mask in a ventilated area.

To remove flocked coating, velor, pile, moisten it with a solvent or nail polish remover and wait 1-2 minutes. The adhesive connection of the pile with an air mattress will soften a little and then the entire layer can be easily cleaned off with a blunt knife or spoon.

2. Remove the adhesive and clear tape from the repair kit.

5. Cut out the patch from the strip of material right size included in the repair kit. The patch can be of any shape, but it is better if it is round or oval. In the field, you can simply cut corners from a rectangular workpiece. Diameter or maximum length patches should be 3-5 cm more length cut.

5. Squeeze out the contents of the tube of glue to the damaged area. Using a brush, apply glue evenly, in a thin layer, to both surfaces to be glued.. Let the glue dry.

6. After 10 - 15 minutes, repeat the same procedure and leave the glue to dry again.

7. After 5 minutes, you can start the actual gluing itself. Five minutes is a relative time. It depends on the temperature environment, glue storage time, and even humidity. Touch the glue - it should dry, but stick slightly.

8. To "activate" the adhesive, the area to be glued and the patch must be heated. To do this, you can use a hair dryer. Remember that the gluing site must be heated, not ignited! This operation must be carried out quickly enough so that the glue does not dry out during this time.

9.Now the surfaces to be glued must be placed one on top of the otherso that no air bubbles remain under the patch and press down well and roll with a hard roller. If there is none at hand, then you can use any means at hand: a knife handle, a jar, a spoon, etc.

10. Without bending the material at the gluing point, carefully fold the mattress (boat) and leave to dry for at least a day.
