Types of huts and their construction. Building a simple fortress out of blankets

Children love to retire to play in secluded places, which can be located in various parts of the summer cottage. Not always the shelter chosen by the child is liked by adults. At the same time, some parents simply shout at their children, while others offer to build a hut, but already where it will be appropriate and safe. The construction of a temporary shelter will certainly interest young summer residents. Children, having fun, will get the first experience in building a hut, which will definitely come in handy in adulthood. The choice of the design of the hut depends on the availability of materials and time for its construction. There are many options for arranging a hut, ranging from classical ways used by man since ancient times, and ending original ideas, inspired by people by the objects and plants around them.

A person, being in the wild, very carefully chooses a place to build a temporary shelter. It is forbidden to build a hut near mountain rivers, in lowlands, in open glades near standing trees, under rocky slopes, etc.

In the country, of course, choosing a place is much easier. Usually the structure is placed near fences, trees or dense plantings to protect the inhabitants of the hut from drafts. It is desirable that children can easily reach their hiding place without going far into the garden. A caring parental heart will tell you where it is best to make a hut house for your beloved baby.

Hut options for middle-aged children

All huts can be divided into three groups:

  • free-standing structures (double-slope, single-slope, wigwams);
  • shelters of attached type (single-pitched, wigwams);
  • dugout huts settling in a recess.

If you were building a temporary shelter in the forest, then your choice of construction would be determined by the type of terrain, weather conditions, season. In the country, the family usually spends time in the summer, so for the construction of a simple shelter, it is better to choose free-standing structures or attached ones.

Huts-dugouts like to build teenagers, resting in the villages with their grandparents. The children keep the location of the dugout hut in the vicinity of the village a secret, but vigilant adults should always know where and what their wards are doing, but not show it to them explicitly. For giving, the variant of the device of a dugout hut is not very suitable.

A forest hut built by experienced travelers will allow you to spend the night and wait out the bad weather. More suitable for a summer residence simple designs huts

Option # 1 - gable hut

To erect the frame of a hut building, you will need two horns and a pole. The dimensions of the hut will depend on the size of these elements. Rogatins are driven vertically into the ground until they take a stable position. This will happen when a third of their length is in the ground. Then a pole is laid on them, if necessary, the joints of the elements are additionally fixed with ropes or wire.

If no suitable spears were found, then they are replaced by two thick poles driven into the ground at such a slope that their tops intersect at desired height from the surface. The intersection is fixed with the help of improvised means (wire or rope).

The frame diagram of a gable hut gives a clear understanding of its structure. The joints of the frame elements should be strengthened with strong ropes.

Next, you need to pick up a few poles (thick tree branches), which will serve as a support for laying the natural roofing material(spruce paws, branches with leaves, ferns, reeds, hay or straw). The exact number of side poles (rafters) depends on the step of their installation. You can generally put them close to each other under a slope so that they form the sloping walls of the hut. In this case, there is no need to additionally cover the walls with something else.

Usually the side poles are located at a distance of 20 cm from each other. If desired, the frame is reinforced with transverse branches, which are attached to the side poles. Then, on the resulting crate, spruce branches or other improvised material is laid, while starting work from the very bottom. In this case, each subsequent row will partially cover the previous one, which will eventually provide reliable protection the interior of the hut from rainwater. In the same way they construct back wall hut, leaving open only the entrance to the shelter.

The main structural elements of a gable hut. Instead of one of the horns, a tree growing in a summer cottage can be used

In the wild, a fire is made in front of the entrance and, with the help of installing a heat shield, the heat from the live fire is directed towards the hut. In the country, this is not necessary, since the hut is usually used in the daytime. A resting place with a fireplace is equipped by adults in the country with completely different goals.

Option # 2 - shed hut

The construction of a shed hut is faster, because the amount of work is reduced and significantly. Also, from two horns and a long pole, a supporting frame of the structure is installed. Then perform all the steps described above on the construction of the wall of the hut. If you want to speed up the construction process, then replace the spruce branches with a tarpaulin or any water-repellent fabric. From above, the covering material is fixed to the frame structure with the help of ropes, and from below the canvas is pressed with a log or stone.

Option # 3 - hut-wigwam

A hut, reminiscent of an Indian wigwam, is built very simply. Draw a circle on level ground, the area of \u200b\u200bwhich is enough for the children to play. Then, along the edge of the circle, dig a row of poles, the tops of which are connected at the top in the form of a bundle and securely fasten the connection with tape, rope or wire. At this point, the frame construction process is considered complete.

The frame of a tepee-wigwam in the country, erected in the spring, so that the plants can grow and wrap around its supporting posts made of thick branches

It remains only to make a shelter out of something. Here you can go two ways.

  1. Plant near each support branch climbing plants. Excellent for this purpose, decorative beans are suitable, in which the delicate green of the leaves is combined with red and white inflorescences. In order for the hut to take on a beautiful and finished look as quickly as possible, take care of growing seedlings of the selected plant in advance. If you plant perennials, then next year you won’t have to think about forming the walls of the hut. This path is very long.
  2. You can speed up the construction of a wigwam hut by using brightly colored fabrics as a covering material. If there is no such colorful fabric, then take any plain canvas and paint it with waterproof paints with your child. For a wigwam hut, a canvas is cut out in the form of a semicircle, the radius of which is equal to the length of the side poles-supports. Ties are sewn in the center and along the rounded edge of the canvas, which are attached directly to the poles or to pegs stuck in the ground.

It is very inconvenient to cover a frame made of branches with a fabric cloth, therefore it is recommended to build a frame structure from rigid PVC pipes.

Option #3 - sunflower wigwam

This hut will grow up in front of the child's eyes. Sunflowers act as frame supports in this version of the hut device, which are planted in the spring along a circle drawn on the ground, leaving room to enter the future shelter. The space inside the resulting circle is left free. The tops of the grown plants are tied neatly with a wide rope so that it does not cut the stems of sunflowers.

In this case, you don’t even need to think about covering material, because sunflower leaves do a good job of this role. The "floor" in the hut is lined with improvised materials. It is better to purchase a travel mat for this purpose in a sporting goods store that does not get wet and does not let the cold from the ground.

Option # 4 - side hut

When traveling, single-sided huts are installed near trees or rocky ledges that serve as a support for branches. At their summer cottage, such huts can also be erected near trees. Reliable support for an attached hut, a fence or a wall of one of suburban buildings. The advantages of this design are a small savings in "building materials" and the speed of work.

Prefabricated huts for small children

It will take several minutes to install a children's tent made of fabric, if all the materials are prepared in advance. For such a shelter you will need:

  • a two-meter wide canvas of dense fabric four meters long;
  • two vertical supports spaced from each other at a distance of two meters;
  • strong rope (minimum length 2.5 m);
  • hooks-pegs for stretching the canvas.

The rope is pulled in a horizontal position between two supports, securely fixing it. Then, a fabric web is thrown through a stretched rope, aligning the ends on both sides. After hooks or pegs attach the edges of the cloth to the ground. To do this, metal rings or loops of strong braid are sewn to the fabric.

The original hut for children in the country is arranged on sunny days to protect playing children from scorching rays. Easily removed when needed

And here's another option - a small hut for a little girl can be made from a hoop and fabric. The gymnastic hoop is covered with a cloth and the resulting structure is suspended from a tree growing in a summer cottage with a strong rope. On the fabric walls huts are sewn on pockets in which a child can put his favorite toys and various little things.

If there is no hoop or the child's mother uses it according to intended purpose, then the circle can be built from a piece of polyethylene pipe.

Such a mini-hut will always be a success with girls who love to play in their houses, especially in such bright and cheerful ones.

And, finally, the easiest option for the village is to knock down the frame from the boards and shower it with straw. It will turn out a cozy "nest" not only for children, but also for adults, if they want to add a little romance to their relationship.

A romantic hut made of straw, which is used to fill up a frame assembled from wooden slats. In such a shelter it is cool during the day and warm in the evening.

From the presented designs, you can choose the option of a hut suitable for you to build with your own hands. Turn on your imagination and try to build an unusual hut in your dacha in which children will play with great pleasure.

For lovers of outdoor activities, the knowledge and practical ability to build a hut with your own hands is extremely necessary, because one day this skill can literally save a life. It's about about those who like long-distance tourist expeditions through forests and mountains, kayaking on rivers or skiing on snowy slopes, fishing, hiking for herbs, berries and mushrooms.

To build a hut , it doesn't take much effort. Having an understanding of the principle of constructing temporary structures, depending on the terrain and the nature of the weather, it will be possible to build it in a matter of hours.

Types of huts and choice of location

Exists three types possible designs:

  1. Standing separately- a classic type of hut in the forest or in open areas.
  2. Attached- living trees, shrubs, steep slopes are used as a support.
  3. in-depth- a kind of mixture of a hut with a dugout.

In a survival setting, you may need to do hut for:

  • arranging a place to sleep;
  • shelter from strong wind or the exhausting sun;
  • keeping things warm and dry during rain, hail or snow;
  • protection from predators and insects;
  • warehouse for temporary storage.

If a person gets lost and stays alone for the night, then he cannot do without building a temporary hut in the forest. In it, you can equip a place to relax from foliage, dry moss or clothes. If necessary, you can even build a fire inside it.

Where is the best place to build a hut? It is preferable to erect such temporary structures on a flat wooded area among dense plantings - lush shrubs and spreading trees. They will protect from drafts and unnecessary attention from the inhabitants of the forest and other tourists.

Places where to make huts do not do it:

  • open fields;
  • under sandy or rocky slopes;
  • near mountain rivers or other turbulent reservoirs;
  • near solitary trees.

After choosing the most suitable place, it should be cleared of fallen leaves, branches, stones, thorns and other things. This will provide greater comfort of being inside the hut in the forest. As well as safety, if a fire is kindled inside the structure.

What you need to build a hut

Such a simple temporary shelter is easy to build at any time of the year. Going on a journey away from civilization, it is useful to have a folding saw, hatchet, knife and rope with you. But in an emergency situation, they may not be at hand. In any case, to make a hut, the main thing is to get a certain amount of building material.

For example, in the snowy steppes, it would be snow and branches of shrubs, if they could be found. And there is a lot of material in the forest: fallen trees, broken branches, broken branches, poles, stones, bark, fallen leaves, moss, grass, cones, spruce branches coniferous plants, And so on. Unfortunately, in modern forests there is a lot of garbage, for example, plastic, pieces of rebar, polyethylene film, fabric - all this can also be successfully used to build a hut in the forest.

In search of building materials for shelter, first of all, you should pay attention to under your feet. You should not break and destroy all living things: young trees, healthy branches and foliage of trees and bushes. It is necessary to respect the forest, and such a kind attitude will return a hundredfold: predatory animals will bypass, plants will be sheltered from the cold, winds and precipitation, and the fire will warm and not burn.

Types of huts and their arrangement

All the most brilliant ideas in the construction of mankind are given by nature itself. Stunning in terms of strength and modification of structures, dwellings are built by beavers, wasps, ants, weavers, red-eared whistlers (or, in other words, “bow-birds”) and many others. People can only look closely and try to capture the essence of the method of construction.

The most common are 3 types of huts: single-sided, double-sided and circular. Each of them has functional features that should be distinguished in order to build the most suitable shelter in each specific case. For example, in winter it is better to make a hut in the shape of a pyramid or a semicircle; in conditions of strong winds, it will serve as good protection. Among other things, the type of structure depends on the area and the number of people for whom it will be built.

Shed hut

This is a shelter that has one sloping wall, which simultaneously acts as a roof, that is, a kind of canopy. Covers from the sun, drizzling rain or wind blowing in one direction. This type of hut does not protect from the cold, since one side is completely or partially open. In warm weather, you can spend the night, but such a rest will not differ in comfort.

How to make a shed hut with your own hands:

  1. Find 2 trees standing close to each other. Or drive 2 poles with branches at the right distance into the ground.
  2. Lay the crossbar on top of the forks. If necessary, you can strengthen the connections by tying the crossbar to trees or poles with a vine.
  3. Lean under her acute angle several long poles with a step of about 25 cm (to make a triangle when viewed from the side).
  4. Using the branches of the leaning poles, horizontally lay thin rods on them - this will evenly distribute the weight of the future flooring.
  5. Lay coniferous or deciduous branches, ferns, leaves, straw or other material on the finished frame.
  6. Cover the slope and sides with branches, clothes or something else.

For this design, the attached type of hut is most often used.

Gable hut

A more comfortable shelter compared to a shed. Can protect from rain, hail, snow, wind, scorching sun or cold. Can be used for sleeping or storing things. Making a double-sided hut with your own hands is a little more difficult than a single-sided one.

It is built in the same way as a lean-to, only long poles are installed at an acute angle to the upper beam on both sides. The “back” part should be completely covered with twigs, branches, spruce branches or leaves. The “front” part will serve as an entrance, it can be partially covered for greater comfort and better heat retention inside the hut in the forest.

For shelter from rain, the thickness of the decks should be at least 20 cm (unpacked hardwood or coniferous branches) so that moisture does not seep through them. And it is better to build a hut from the rain using an awning or plastic wrap.

In rainy weather, it is better to dig small grooves along the side walls to divert flowing water away from the structure.

circular hut

The design resembles a wigwam or a tent in a simpler variation. Such a building effectively protects from the weather, as well as from the cold. A fire can be arranged inside the shelter, but in this case it is necessary to build a hut with a hole in the roof so that the smoke can freely escape from it. To build such a shelter, you can use a tree as a support, after making sure that it is strong and there are no, for example, ants on it. But then it will be impossible to make a fire inside - only at the entrance.

Building a shelter in the forest, along with obtaining fire, food and water, is the basis of survival. The shelter must protect from adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow. In the cold season, the shelter should have, if possible, heat-insulating properties. For the construction of shelters, traditional ones for a particular area and season are used. In the Arctic, these are snow blocks, in the forest it is naturally a tree, branches, leaves. There are several types of forest shelters, differing in complexity and construction time. In the forest, it is most convenient to build a shelter such as a hut

A fallen tree doesn't take long to hide, especially if you have a small hatchet. The density of branches and leaves of such a tree may not be enough to protect from the wind, so prepare and weave additional branches. Pay attention so that such a tree does not fall on you completely. You can also cut or chop down a small tree of sufficient length and tie the base to a bough on the tree.

A single-sided hut is a canopy. Provides protection from the wind when placed against the wind, and also serves as a screen to reflect heat from the fire. If there is a sleeping bag, then such a shelter can be used from late spring to late autumn. It is convenient to build such a shelter between two trees, between which a supporting pole-beam is fixed, to which rafter poles are attached at an angle of 45 ° - 60 °. On these rafters, several poles are fixed parallel to the ground. Now the resulting frame of the hut must be covered with vegetation. For this, you can use branches with leaves or spruce branches, which must be laid in a tiled manner, that is, the lowest level is covered first, then higher, overlapping the lower one. So all the water will flow down the roof of the hut with a sufficient density of the roof surface.

It is not difficult to build a single-pitched hut to a double-pitched hut, thereby providing wind protection on both sides and greater thermal insulation. To do this, we build two shed huts on one pole crossbar. If we complete the rear pediment, that is, the back wall, we will get a full-fledged shelter that retains heat quite well and protects from the wind from all sides.

In order not to build up the back wall, you can fix the supporting pole at an angle to the ground. Due to the fact that only one end of the carrier pole needs to be fixed, and the other end rests on the ground, the carrier log does not have to be attached to the tree trunk. It can be secured with crossed poles. In a similar way, in fact, a shelter made of a fallen tree is arranged. The disadvantage of such a shelter will be the ability to sit closer to the move.

The above types of shelters are built if you do not have an awning or other material with you. If an awning or a parachute is available, then you can build similar shelters, only instead of a plant cover, use an awning. This option will provide better wind and moisture protection, because when laying vegetative cover it is more difficult to ensure the density of laying.

You can also combine - make the inner layer from a plant cover, and use an awning as an outer layer. This combination will provide both wind and moisture protection, and better thermal insulation.

A simple shelter made from an awning and two or three poles.

Travel situations are different. You can stay overnight in a wooded area without a tent, and you need to be able to provide yourself with a solid shelter for the night. Finding a home for any trip is very important. IN winter conditions- especially. We will tell you how to build a hut in a forest belt.

How is the construction process

Shelter will protect you from various negative external influences. environment. We are talking about a blizzard, snowstorm, rain and any other unfavorable natural conditions. In the forest belt, you can easily erect a shack of this type. Nearby are located all the necessary building materials for this.

Dwellings have their own classifications by type. They may be:

Standing apart.

attached to another building.

Settled in a recess.

There is also a division by type of structure:

You can't start construction at random. First you need to choose a suitable area for this. If you see gorges, the coastal zone of rivers, as well as the foothills of mountains, then stay away from them. They are not suitable for the construction of a building.

If you are located in a forest with mountains, then you do not need to build a separate building. It is better to make it in such a way that its structure is attached. The mountain will be one or more erection walls. The entrance must be located in the direction from the cliff.

Be sure to dig small holes around the hut. These recesses are needed exclusively for water that will flow there due to natural precipitation.

If you are traveling in an ordinary forest, then the choice of place is based on other grounds. Pay attention to what the weather is at a certain time. If the air temperature is low, then it is necessary to erect a structure in a small depression, which you must find on the ground. If it's raining, then stop on some hillock.

For erection, you must have special tools with you: a rope, a knife and an ax of any size. In the absence of the first, spruces will come in handy, namely, their roots.

single slope

This type of dwelling is very similar to an awning. It shelters travelers from gusts of wind and provides them with warmth. The latter happens due to the amazing properties of heat reflection from the fire flame.

Below is another structure. It should be positioned so as to be parallel to the floor. All parts must form a grid. And the entire base must be provided with thermal insulation. Use plants for this, they need to overlay the structure. This will allow you to protect your shelter from rain, strong winds and other unpleasant weather conditions. Use for these purposes either trees with huge leaves, or needles. Branches must be arranged in ascending order from bottom to top. It is better not to go in the opposite direction. By branches waste water will slide down. The interior of the room will not be affected. Foliage will not let in moisture.

Take a few small logs. Place them on the ground. Place poles on top and place some heavy branches on top. The improvised bed is ready for further use.

gable

This type of hut is not much different from the previous one. The same lean-to is taken as the basis, and an additional side is added to it. To create the latter, additional crossbars, poles and various branches are used. The rise algorithm is as follows:

You will need to find a couple of racks, rods with a small diameter, and a long pole. All this will be used to create a support.

Place the racks inside the surface. They need to be inserted into the ground in such a way that they stand fairly stable.

The pole is placed directly on the racks.

Small branches need to be tilted slightly in relation to the pole. They will act as a support.

The design must be overlaid with various plants. These may include leaves, grass, etc.

Be sure to follow the sequence of laying the protective material. This will provide you with protection from the rain. Water will flow into right direction- from the awning, not to it.

A fire must be lit next to the dwelling.

Tent

This type of building is erected using fresh poles. They must be of great length. Subsequently, they are subjected to careful processing. Everything superfluous, including branches and leaves, is removed with a hacksaw or any other tool.

The design should be cone-shaped. It is better to cover the upper part with some kind of vegetation to provide thermal insulation. If you want to be able to make a fire right inside the room, make the latter as large as possible.

Don't forget the extractor too. Be sure to leave a hole in the ceiling for all negative fumes and smoke to escape. Keep the fire as small as possible. Do not use any firewood other than that which has leaves. They do not give sparks, which means you will protect your building from fire.

Shelter in a recess

This building is a hybrid of a hut and a dugout. Try to find a medium-sized hole in the forest, or make a hole yourself. At the top of the future building, you will need to place various branches that will provide you with warmth. And in the inside - overlay the walls in the same way. This should be done if you do not have a sleeping bag.

The erection of this building is very convenient. You will need only a few hours of free time and a minimum number of items, and in return you will receive reliable protection at night, as well as in sub-zero temperatures. Master the construction of huts at home, so that in nature you will not have problems with this!

How to build a hut in the forest

How to build a temporary roof over your head during a hike, everyone should know. After all, you don’t always have a ready-made tent or a sleeping bag with you, and a roof over your head is the main thing that a person thinks about in the forest, in addition to food and water, especially if the trip takes place in winter nature. You can learn more about how to build a hut in the forest with your own hands.

How to build a hut in the forest with your own hands

Shelter in the forest should be protected from wind, rain or snow. In the forest, it is easiest to build a hut, since all the materials necessary for this are present. There are three types of temporary shelter: a free-standing hut, attached, and also built in a recess. In addition, by design, they are hipped, single-slope and gable. Before you start building a hut in the forest, you need to find a suitable place. It should not be a depression in a narrow gorge, the bank of a river or the bottom of some canyon, or the foot of a mountain.

If you need to make a hut in a mountain forest, you need to choose an attached type of shelter, one or two sides of which will be made of wood or parts of a rock. The installation is done in such a way that the entrance looks in the opposite direction to the top. Along the perimeter of a homemade tent, you need to dig recesses for rainwater to drain.

If you need to build a hut in a flat forest, you need to choose a place based on weather conditions. In cold dry weather, you need to choose a place in the recess, and in rainy weather - on a hill. In order to build a shelter, you will need an ax, a rope, a knife. If there is no rope, an excellent replacement will be spruce roots. Other tools are not so important, and usually nothing happens with yourself except for the above.

Shed hut

Shed hut

Another version of a shed shelter is built near a broken tree. It is necessary to find such a tree that the break was at a height of no more than two meters above the ground. The part of the trunk lying on the ground is covered with long branches as a roof deck, the ground under the trunk is also covered with branches.

gable hut

One of the options for a gable hut can be built if the second side of the pole, transverse beams, covered with spruce branches or branches is added to the shed shelter described above.

The second version of the gable type consists of a sequence of actions:

  • You need to find two strong horn racks, thin rods and a long pole as a support.
  • Racks are installed in the ground for about a third of their length.
  • A horizontal pole is installed on the racks.
  • The floor is tilted to the pole with thin branches that act as rafters.
  • From above, the rafters are covered with branches with foliage, spruce branches, grass.
  • Covering material is located from the bottom up to prevent the penetration of water inside.
  • At the entrance to the hut you need to place your fire.

Tent hut

A hipped hut is built from young, thin, long poles, which are cut off from excess branches and foliage, and are installed with a cone. They can be attached both to each other and around the tree trunk. From above, it is covered with grass, branches. If the tent hut is made large, a fire can be placed inside it. Leave an uncovered part for the smoke to escape from above. But at the same time, the fire should not be too large; when kindling, use only deciduous firewood so that there are no sparks.

Shelter in a recess

A temporary shelter built in a recess is a cross between a dugout and a hut. To do this, you need to find a small depression in the ground or dig it yourself. Thin branches with covering material (fir branches, grass, reeds, leaves) are mounted on top of the shelter; inside the structure, the ground surface must be covered with the same if there is no sleeping bag.

How to build a hut in the winter in the forest

In winter, you can also build a hut that protects from snow and wind. The main thing is to have a warm sleeping bag with you in winter. To build a winter hut, you need to find a suitable place on a hill, clear it of snow to make a small depression. Next, you need to prepare the required amount of coniferous spruce branches and poles. Lapnik must be cut from the lower branches of trees. Poles can be used from old, dry trees, they do not have to be young trees. Part of the chopped coniferous spruce branches should be laid out on the floor of the future structure in such a way that there are no protruding branches. Poles are installed on both sides of the future hut, additional supports are laid on top of the frame, and the poles are tied with a rope in places where the load is applied. Then, spruce branches are laid on top of the frame in dense rows without gaps and cracks. On the sides of the hut, you also need to cover it well with coniferous spruce branches, at the same time covering the walls with bricks of snow, if it is dense. The entrance to the shelter can be covered with a hanging spruce branch. Such a building will be warm and spacious enough to spend the night.

Thus, without any improvised means, except for an ax, a knife and a rope, you can easily build a temporary shelter for spending the night in the forest, as well as shelter from snow, rain, and wind. Well, if you have some kind of covering material with you - tarpaulin, polyethylene, dense fabric, then the task will be somewhat simplified. If not, spruce spruce branches, grass, wide and thick branches will quite successfully serve as a heat and moisture protective material. In winter, dense snow will also serve as a good heat-insulating material. For more detailed step-by-step instructions, see the video on how to build a hut in the forest.

How to make a hut? Do-it-yourself huts from branches: instructions, photos

Many lovers of outings into nature sometimes stay overnight in the forest. In this case, you can settle down to sleep in the cab of the car, in a tent or in a sleeping bag. but the best option will spend the night in a hut built from improvised means. On the fresh air with a pleasant smell of wood in good weather, a comfortable atmosphere for sleeping in this uncomplicated structure is created. But many people have a question about how to make a hut. Instructions for the construction of this structure will be provided below. More on this later.

Definition

The hut is a universal short-term shelter. It is used for lodging for the night, protection from the sun, strong winds, temperature and atmospheric changes, precipitation in the form of rain and snow.

Varieties of the hut

There are many variations of this building. However, there are three types of simple huts. Namely:

  • stand-alone;
  • attached;
  • huts in the recess.

Each type has its own construction features, which have much in common. They depend on the time of year, weather conditions and type of terrain.

How to make a hut with your own hands?

First you need to choose a suitable place for the construction of this temporary shelter. It cannot be installed in narrow gorges, on the banks of rivers, at the bottom of canyons. Because there may be floods, floods or sudden downpours. The danger is the creation of a hut under the rocks that hang over the parking lot, as well as at the foot of steep mountains. When choosing a parking space, the cardinal directions must be taken into account. Consider the main location options.

  1. How to make a hut in a mountain forest. For this area, the specified structure of the attached type is well suited. This means that one of the walls or even two walls will be made of wood or stone - part of the rock. In this case, you should try to avoid precipitation. That is, do not put up a hut in hollows with obvious traces of water flows. Since if it rains, then a stream of water will flow down. Otherwise, the rules for installing this structure are the same as for a tent. The entrance to the hut should be on the opposite side of the top. Grooves must be made around it around the perimeter so that water drains in case of rain.
  2. How to make a hut in a lowland forest? The answer to this question is quite simple. In the forest, where there is a plain, it is possible to build a recessed, classic or side hut. In this case, the place is chosen, focusing on the weather. This is important. In cold weather without rain, you need to find a recess that will serve as a temporary shelter. When rainy - the specified structure is placed on an elevated place.

The choice of the type of hut

1. Classic hut. This type of building is made in the form of a fire for cooking. In this case, two poles or branches are installed vertically. The third is laid on them horizontally. Dressing is done with improvised means: flexible twigs, grass stems, lianas.

In this case, there are still several types of installation. For example, 2 poles or even branches cut with a knife are set to each other at an angle at the exit from the hut and the back wall with a distance of 2-2.5 meters. It's easy to do. Then the main pole is laid horizontally on them. Next option is a wigwam. In this case, you can lay the poles in a circle at an angle to each other in the form of a fire, and also use a living growing tree as a fulcrum for them.

2. Attached hut. This also includes the type in the form of a wigwam around a tree. In this case, there may still be a hut created on the basis of poles that rest on a rock in a mountainous area. The walls are made, as in the specified classical structure.

3. Recessed hut. This type of building looks like a classic in a hollow or is a cross between a dugout and a hut. That is, when only the top (roof) is covered.

The main principles of construction

Before you make a hut with your own hands, you need to know the following:

  1. Location.
  2. Hut type.
  3. The basis of this structure should be several poles with sharp ends, recessed into the ground. One of them is set as carrier beam ceiling.
  4. The poles of the walls of the hut are installed with a slope of 45-60 degrees. Except when one wall is vertical.
  5. The roof must be stitched with branches (poles) in several tiers parallel to the ground along the perimeter between installed beam and earth. Then it will be easier to lay spruce branches or branches.
  6. In deciding how to make a hut, it is necessary proper conduct laying spruce branches on the base of the pole. In this case, it all depends on individual desires. This should be done in such a way that the upper part of the lower spruce branches is laid under the corresponding side of the layer on top. This is done in the same way as when installing tiles. Then the raindrops will roll down freely.
  7. Instead of spruce branches, branches with large leaves, as well as polyethylene with a tarpaulin.

Interior arrangement of the hut

Construction of a hut in the forest

In this case, there are also some nuances. Experienced travelers know how to make a hut in the forest. In this case, you can build a shelter of different types. The simplest option is considered a classic hut. Any lying tree is suitable for the construction of this structure. It will serve as a kind of skeleton for a hut. The branches of this tree will become a holding tool for those rods that create the roof. Before you make a hut, the photo of which is provided in the text, you should remember that before starting this process, you need to make sure that the lying tree does not crush you. Next, you need to cut off with a knife or tear off with your hands the extra branches that are inside the structure. This is important for convenience. The resulting branches are folded so that a slope of the roof of the hut is formed. It depends on the thickness of the laid layer whether raindrops get inside the structure. With a lying tree, you can build both a single and a double-sided hut, depending on the position in which it is located. A shed hut can easily be completed to the second indicated option. Let's take a closer look at this next.

The construction of a shed hut

This process is not difficult. The simplest shed shelters begin to be built from the frame, and a film or tarpaulin is attached to it on top. The lower edges are pressed against stones or logs. Such a shelter serves as a screen. From spruce branches you can make a sunbed like a bed. The fire must be lit at a distance of about one meter from the sunbed. This is important. At night, firewood is thrown into the fire. At a temperature of about +5 degrees, you need to stock up in advance with 2-3 dry thick two-meter logs. Of these, you can make a fire "nodya". To do this, two or three logs are placed on top of each other with glowing coals between them. This ensures warmth throughout the night.

gable hut

In this case, too, there is nothing complicated. You can use any improvised means in the form of spruce branches, reeds, hay, grass or straw. You need to start with the preparation of thin rods, a support pole and two strong flyers for the base of this structure. In this case, you need to have some skills. Flyers are installed with a vertical strong drive into the ground by a third of the length so that they do not stagger. A strong horizontal pole is installed on top of them, on which thin rods are laid with an inclination in the form of rafters. Then the material is laid on them from the bottom up. You need to do this so that the top row overlaps the bottom. The back and side walls of the hut are covered in the same way. At the entrance to this building, a fire with a heat shield is lit. In this case, please note that the specified heat shield must be inclined towards the entrance.

How do-it-yourself huts are built from branches?

Let's consider this process in more detail. Before you make a hut from branches, you need to prepare:

  • a large knife or ax;
  • tree branches;
  • strong rope;
  • stakes from thick branches.

First you need to decide on the form and materials of construction. The gable option is considered optimal, that is, in the form of a tent. To do this, it is necessary to prepare 6 thick branches about a meter long with a diameter of 5-7 cm. At the same time, two of them should be slightly shorter. These branches will become the basis of the frame of the hut, serving as the back and front walls. After choosing a level place, stakes are installed, digging them into the ground in the form of two tripods one against the other. The distance between the stakes will be the length of the hut. In this case, the tripods should stand to each other on one side of an imaginary triangle. Then, thin twigs or a rope are horizontally attached to the formed empty walls. Also in this case, climbing plants can be used. There are many of them in the southern regions of Russia. The vertical distance between the branches should be about 20 cm. These crossbars will be used to attach the skin branches.

In general, nature itself suggests how to make a hut with your own hands in the forest. Properly laid branches will shield each other. The crown of the tree will become a shelter from the rain. Walls are also being built. In this case, you should take fluffy branches or spruce branches from coniferous trees. After that, it is necessary to break them off so that a hook forms on the broken end. It is needed to subsequently attach the branch to the crossbars. In this case, it is necessary to begin the construction of walls from the bottom side. This must be done in such a way that the upper branches are located on the lower ones overlapping from above. Then the raindrops will roll down. If there is a desire, then the floor can be lined from the branches. As a result, the question of how to make a hut from branches will be solved very simply.

Construction of said structure for children on a tree

Many of the children thought about how to make a treehouse. In this case, everything is also quite simple and clear. With the right approach, you can build a hut for children and grandchildren on a tree. If there are 2 trees nearby on a summer cottage, then a good structure will turn out between them. This will require not so much time and building materials. Before you make a tree hut, you need to stock up on the following fixtures and tools:

  • sheets of plywood: one with a thickness of 18-20 mm and two - 8-10 mm;
  • bolts;
  • timber with dimensions of 50x150 mm and 50x100 mm;
  • hacksaw or circular saw;
  • galvanized nails;
  • ruberoid;
  • birch bark.

At the heart of the design of the hut, you need to use 2 boards 50x150 mm. In this case, they are attached to two thick trees. There is nothing difficult in this regard. It is necessary that the diameters of the tree trunks be approximately 20 cm. Then the bottom of the hut with side walls, as well as triangles for the brackets, are cut out of the plywood sheet. This will require a lot of patience and scrupulousness. Further, triangular sidewalls are assembled from pre-prepared and sawn half-wood bars. After that, they are fastened with bolts. Then the process of connecting the assembled triangular sidewalls with a ridge beam will follow. It should have a cross section of 50x100 mm. After that, it is necessary to connect these sidewalls with the two bars below. Then, with the help of brackets, the resulting frame is attached to two supporting boards with a section of 50x150 mm, which are already fixed to the trees in advance. Now we need to take the bottom, cut out of plywood. It is necessary to drill holes for nails in it. After that, you need to nail the bottom to the lower bars and lags with galvanized nails with large hats. Now we need to think about the construction of the roof and hatch windows. It is best in this case to get a multi-layer roof. This will ensure reliability. In 1 layer, plywood with a sheet thickness of 8-10 mm is used. The second can be from roofing material or glassine. And for the third layer, birch bark will go.

After reviewing the foregoing, everyone can decide for themselves the question of how to make a hut from boards, branches and other improvised means or building materials, as well as find out what types of these structures exist.

How to build a hut

We all love being outdoors. And it doesn't matter where exactly we want to relax, in the lowland forest, or in the rocky mountains. Naturally, when planning your vacation, you know in advance where you will spend the night, in your car, in a tent or sleeping bag. However, there is another option for an overnight stay.

This option is convenient because in it you will not only feel protected, but also be able to breathe fresh air in a pleasant atmosphere. This option is the construction of a hut. In this article, you will learn how to build a treehouse.

Definition

A hut is a universal shelter that is being built on a short time. First of all, it is built for an overnight stay, as well as for protection from snow, prolonged rain, temperature changes, strong winds, and the scorching summer sun.

There are such types of huts:

How to make a hut in the forest with your own hands

First you need to find a suitable place to build a hut. This place should be safe for your life. We do not advise you to build a hut, on the banks of the river, in narrow gorges, at the bottom of the canyon. Since in the event of flooding or heavy rain, this place may become unsafe. Also, do not build a hut under sagging rocks, and near steep mountains.

You can build a hut without any tools. However, you will need a standard set to work:

It is noteworthy that these tools, most likely, you will always have with you. They will significantly reduce the time of robots, and the process itself will be more enjoyable.

As you can see in the photo, most huts can be built with a simple weaving technique from branches. In order to make a high-quality roof and walls that will be reliable in any weather conditions, you only need to use those materials that are in the forest at almost every step, these are branches, bark, moss, leaves, grass. Having collected all these materials, you can make a good hut with your own hands.

There are huts different shapes and size, it all depends on how many people it should fit in, as well as what its purpose is - it will be a shelter for you from the sun or protection from cold and wind. But with all this, you need to take into account the type of terrain, weather conditions and time of year.

Making a shed hut

A shed hut is only one wall, made directly by you. This wall should rest against something, it can be a fallen tree or a large stone or two trees growing side by side. You can make this wall or canopy from branches, and cover it with leaves. This type of hut will serve as protection for you from light rain, scorching sun or other circumstances. However, you will not be able to fully protect yourself from strong winds, snow or rain. Also, this building is not so practical. Since you can have a good rest in it, however, you will not be able to comfortably spend the night there.

In order to build a building, you will need two strong logs with branches at the top, 2–2.5 meters long. At an angle to the base, drive these logs into the ground and secure the crossbar at the top. At a distance of 30 cm, you must place branches (poles) that will be pressed into the ground at one end, and rest on the crossbar with the other.

Production of a gable hut

This type of hut is more convenient and practical. A gable hut is made according to the same principle as a single-sided hut. But the difference is that the poles, which are installed from the crossbar to the base of the ground, must be installed on both sides. This can be seen in the photo.

One side should be completely covered with small branches or leaves, while the other side will be used as an exit. If you have a film or tarp with you, then use it as additional protection from rain and wind.

Once you're done with the outside work, move on to the inside. What is meant? You need to take care of the floor covering. Especially if you don't have sleeping bags or other warm clothes with you. If you have to spend the night in cold and wet weather, make sure that you sleep off the ground. Build some kind of stretcher with your own hands and cover it with dry leaves and grass that you can find, or unnecessary things that you may have in your backpack.

Remember, if the question is about maintaining your health or even life, you should not look for the most convenient types of materials. Use what you have at hand. The main thing is that the material you choose is dry and reliable. But, probably, few of us may need to build a hut in the forest due to various extreme situations. Therefore, in the next part of this article, we will talk about how to help our children build their own hut.

Hut-wigwam

We build a frame: draw a circle on a flat area. Around the circle you need to dig in a row of sticks. The upper ends of the sticks must be connected with a rope, tape or wire. However, everything must be very reliable so that your children are safe. At this stage, we can say that the frame is ready.

After making the frame, you only need to sheathe the wigwam with a colorful fabric or film, as you can see in the photo.

If you have a dacha or your own garden, then do not lose this opportunity to make an original and very beautiful wigwam of sunflowers for children. To do this, you just need to plant a few sunflowers in a circle. And when they grow up tie them together. You can only imagine how happy your child will be playing in such a hut that was built by you.

Summing up

There are also other types of children's huts. For example, if you have a lot of trees, think about how to make a treehouse, or how to build a big treehouse to play with friends. You can even make a small hut, in the children's room, from improvised means. Remember: joint work - it always unites the family. Before you build a hut in the forest with your own hands, it is important to think it over, stock up on tools and start working.

Many lovers of outings into nature sometimes stay overnight in the forest. In this case, you can settle down to sleep in the cab of the car, in a tent or in a sleeping bag. However, the best option would be to spend the night in a hut built from improvised means. The fresh air with the pleasant smell of wood in good weather creates a comfortable atmosphere for sleeping in this uncomplicated structure.

Namely:

  • stand-alone;
  • attached;

The next option is the wigwam.

  1. Location.
  2. Hut type.

  4. The poles of the walls of the hut are installed with a slope of 45-60 degrees. Except when one wall is vertical.
  5. The roof must be stitched with branches (poles) in several tiers parallel to the ground along the perimeter between the installed beam and the ground. Then it will be easier to lay spruce branches or branches.
  6. In deciding how to make a hut, it is necessary to correctly lay the spruce branches on the base of the pole. In this case, it all depends on individual desires. This should be done in such a way that the upper part of the lower spruce branches is laid under the corresponding side of the layer on top. This is done in the same way as when Then the raindrops will roll down freely.
  7. Instead of spruce branches, branches with large leaves, as well as polyethylene with a tarpaulin, will also go.

Interior arrangement of the hut

This process is also important point. In the forest, when there are no usual sleeping bags, folding beds, air mattress and bedding, one must be able to adapt to such conditions. There are two types of arrangement floor covering: with and without a focus. Each case requires a separate approach. Usually in the cool season, as well as when you need to protect yourself from mosquitoes and mosquitoes, you should protect the walls and fallen trees from the sparks of the hearth. Therefore, it is laid out in the center, limited by stones, the earth is spilled between the stones, and a quarantine zone of about 15-20 cm is made around it. Deadwood is laid on the floor of the hut (on the ground) - last year's leaves with branches, shoots. Material in the form of a tarp, excess clothing, polyethylene will also work.

Construction of a hut in the forest

In this case, there are also some nuances. Experienced travelers know how to make a hut in the forest. In this case, you can build a shelter of different types. In this case, please note that the specified heat shield must be inclined towards the entrance.

How do-it-yourself huts are built from branches?

Let's consider this process in more detail. Before you make a hut from branches, you need to prepare:

  • a large knife or ax;

It is best in this case to get a multi-layer roof. This will ensure reliability. In 1 layer, plywood with a sheet thickness of 8-10 mm is used. The second can be from roofing material or glassine. And for the third layer, birch bark will go.

Outcome

After reviewing the foregoing, everyone can decide for themselves the question of how to make a hut from boards, branches and other improvised means or building materials, as well as find out what types of these structures exist.

Children in the country need to have a place for games and entertainment. A great option could be a hut that you. You don’t need to spend a lot of time and money to do this, just show your imagination. An unusual hut is obtained from materials that are always at hand. We offer you to get acquainted with some options for the design of a children's hut.

Fabric hut

To make a fabric hut, you need to prepare:
a large and dense piece of fabric measuring 2 by 4 meters;
2 support posts (trees), which should be spaced 2 meters apart;
2.5 meter rope;
a set of hooks for fixing the hut to the ground.

Initially, we pull the rope necessarily in a horizontal position between 2 racks and thoroughly fix it. Then we hang a piece of fabric symmetrically over the rope. The next step is fixing the hut to the floor. It is necessary to sew metal eyelets on the edges of the fabric in advance or make loops that are also sewn along the edge. After that, hooks are threaded through the loops and fixed in the ground.

This option for creating a hut is a little difficult to arrange, but nothing is impossible.

Prepare in advance:
PVC pipes or branches of the required length;
climbing vegetation or sow seeds;
strong rope.

It is worth noting that such a hut can be used only after a few months. It is recommended to proceed with the construction of the structure after winter period with the beginning of spring. First, install pipes or tree branches in the shape of a triangle. Then fasten them together at the top with a rope.

After assembling the hut, you can start sowing seeds. In the circle of the structure, it is necessary to plant plants that curl beautifully. They will grow, and then you must direct them up the racks of the hut. At the height of summer, the children's hut will be ready for sure.

This option provides for the construction of their structure pvc pipes which must be covered with a strong fabric on top. The construction method is identical to the second plan described above. Racks of pipes are exposed and tightly pulled together from above with a rope. Then they need to be fixed in the ground. The hut for children is covered with a cloth, and it is ready for use.

This method is the most original. To work you need to have:

Aluminum hoop or metal pipe, twisted into a ring;
strong rope and fabric.

To build such a hut is not difficult. Cover the hoop with fabric, sew the ends. The remaining fabric must be sewn around the entire hoop and attached to the center of the rope. Then the structure is fixed on a tree or in another place suitable for children's games.

In this case, a simple stepladder will serve as a hut. All you need to do is place the ladder in comfortable spot for games and hang a cloth on it. This version of the structure is characterized by mobility, since the stepladder can be transferred both to the yard and to the house.

This is an unusual construction of newspaper tubes that are covered with fabric. But remember that in inclement weather such a hut must be removed so that it does not get wet and deteriorate. To build a structure, prepare:

Textile;
newspapers;
large-width tape and a stapler.

First, roll the newspapers into tubes, secure their edges with a stapler. Then make a construction in the form of a triangle and also fix it. Put a cloth over the hut.
