Your most important treasure is peace in your soul.

Chamomile is soothing.

Manage your mood, for if it does not obey, then it commands.

You can find peace only by becoming an observer, calmly looking at the fleeting course of life. Irvin Yalom

Calmness is stronger than emotions.

Silence is louder than screaming.

And whatever happens to you, don't take anything to heart. Little in the world is important for a long time.

Erich Maria Remarque "Arc de Triomphe" ---

When you get caught in the rain, you can learn a useful lesson from this. If it starts raining unexpectedly, you don't want to get wet, so you run down the street to your house. But when you get home, you notice that you are still wet. If you decide from the very beginning not to quicken your pace, you will get wet, but you will not fuss. The same should be done in other similar circumstances.

Yamamoto Tsunetomo - Hagakure. Samurai book

Tomorrow will be what it should be

don't fuss.

If there is no peace within us, it is useless to look for it outside.

Develop the habit of monitoring your mental-emotional state through self-observation. It is good to regularly ask yourself: "Am I calm at the moment?" is a question that is useful to ask yourself regularly. You can also ask: "What is going on inside me in this moment?"

Eckhart Tolle

Freedom is freedom from worry. Realizing that you cannot influence the results, do not pay attention to your desires and fears. Let them come and go. Do not feed them with interest and attention. In reality, things are done with you, not you.

Nisargadatta Maharaj

The calmer and more balanced a person is, the more powerful his potential and the greater his success in good and worthy deeds. Equanimity of mind is one of the greatest treasures of wisdom.

The basis of all wisdom is calmness and patience.

Stop your worry and then you can see the magnificent pattern...

When the mind comes to rest, you begin to appreciate the light of the moon and the breath of the wind, and you understand that there is no need for worldly fuss.

Find peace in your soul, and thousands around you will be saved.

What you really want is peace and love. You came out of them, you will return to them and you are them. Papaji

The most beautiful and healthy people are people who are not annoyed by anything.

The most high degree human wisdom- this is the ability to remain calm in spite of external thunderstorms.

You are not bound by your experiences, but by clinging to them.

Don't make hasty decisions. Well weigh all the pros and cons. Almost every person has a heavenly guide, a second "I". Think about it and ask him, is it worth doing what you have planned or not?! Learn to observe, to see the invisible, to anticipate situations.

When you contemplate mountain forests and streams running over stones, the heart clouded with worldly dirt is gradually cleared. When you read the ancient canons and look at the paintings of ancient masters, the spirit of worldly vulgarity dissipates little by little. Hong Zicheng, The Taste of Roots.

Wisdom comes with the ability to be calm. Just watch and listen. Nothing else is needed. When you are at peace, when you just look and listen, it activates your concept-free intelligence within you. Let peace guide your words and deeds.

Eckhart Tolle

We can never achieve peace in the outer world until we achieve it in the inner.

The essence of balance is not to cling.

The essence of relaxation is not to hold back.

The essence of naturalness is not to make an effort.

He who is not envious and does not wish harm to anyone has achieved balance. For him, the whole world is filled with happiness.

In order for life to bloom again, to seethe and be filled with exciting joy and happiness, you just need to stop ... Stop and allow yourself to dissolve in pleasure ...

Don't worry about your future, be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

If the water is not stirred up, it will settle on its own. If the mirror is not dirty, it will reflect light by itself. The human heart cannot be made pure by will. Eliminate that which pollutes it, and its purity will manifest itself. Joy is not to be found outside of yourself. Eliminate what gives you anxiety, and joy will reign in your soul by itself.

Sometimes just leave things alone...

It's always quiet at the center of a hurricane. Be that quiet place in the center, even if the whirlwinds are raging around.

You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather.

Only in calm waters are things reflected undistorted.

Only a calm consciousness is suitable for perceiving the world.

When you don't know what to do, wait a while. Keep quiet. Live the way you live. The sign will appear sooner or later. The main thing is to know that you are waiting and be ready to meet what you are waiting for. Luis Rivera

Don't worry about your future, be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

Calmness robs your enemies of strength. In calmness there is neither fear nor excessive anger - only reality, cleared of distortions and interference from emotional outbursts. When you are calm, you are truly strong.

Therefore, your opponents will always try with all their might to get you out of this state - to inspire fear, sow doubts, cause anger. The internal state is directly related to breathing. Whatever situation you find yourself in, immediately calm your breath - the spirit will calm down next.

The most important thing in the spiritual life is to keep the heart at peace.

You have to trust life.
It is necessary without fear to entrust oneself to its current, because life is infinitely wiser than us.
She still treats you in her own way, sometimes quite harshly,
but in the end you will realize that she was right.

Be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

Your spirit must not be agitated, an evil word must not come out of your lips; you must remain benevolent, with a heart full of love, containing no secret malice; and even ill-wishers you must envelop with loving thoughts, generous thoughts, deep and boundless, cleansed of all anger and hatred. That is how, my disciples, you must act.

Only calm water correctly reflects the heavens.

The best indicator of the level of consciousness is the ability to calmly relate to life's difficulties.

They drag the unconscious person down, while conscious person rises more and more.

Eckhart Tolle.

Sit quietly and you will understand how vain everyday worries are. Shut up a little and you will understand how empty everyday speeches are. Give up everyday troubles, and you will understand how much energy people waste in vain. Chen Jizhu.

Calmness helps us find a way out of the most difficult situations.

Have you run out of patience? ... Inflate again!)

3 QUIET SECONDS

It is enough to calmly think for three seconds to understand everything.

That's just where to get them, these really three quiet seconds? We are too excited by our own fantasies to stop even for a moment.

Have you ever seen an oak tree in a state of stress, or a dolphin in a gloomy mood, a frog suffering from low self-esteem, a cat who cannot relax, or a bird burdened with resentment? Learn from them the ability to put up with the present.

Do not hurry. Each bud opens at its own time. Don't force the bud to become a flower. Don't bend the petals. They are gentle; you hurt them. Wait and they will open themselves. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Don't worship a bearded man in the sky or an idol in a book. Worship the inhalation and exhalation, the winter breeze caressing your face, the morning crowd on the subway, just the feeling of being alive, never knowing what is coming.See God in the eyes of a stranger, Providence in the ruined and ordinary. Worship the ground on which you stand. Make every day a dance, with tears in your eyes, contemplating the divine in every moment, notice the absolute in everything relative, and let people call you crazy. Let them laugh and joke.

Jeff Foster

The higher power is not the ability to defeat others, but the ability to become one with others.

Sri Chinmoy

Try, at least in a small way, not to bring your mind.
Look at the world - just look.
Don't say "like" or "dislike". Don't say anything.
Don't say the words, just look.
The mind will feel uncomfortable.
My mind would like to say something.
You just say to the mind:
"Be quiet, let me see, I'll just watch"...

Epictetus ---

When we lose our sense of self-importance, we become invulnerable.

To be strong, you have to be like water. There are no obstacles - it flows; dam - it will stop; the dam breaks - it will flow again; in a quadrangular vessel it is quadrangular; in the round - it is round. Because it is so compliant, it is most needed and strongest of all.

Live in peace. Come spring, and the flowers bloom themselves.

It is known that the calmer a person looks, the less often other people contradict him and argue with him. Conversely, if a person defends his point of view with vehemence, he is argued and violently resisted.

Do not rush. Eat at the hour of food, and the hour of the journey will come- hit the road.

Paulo Coelho "The Alchemist"

To yield means to accept what is. So you are open to life. Resistance is an internal clamp... . So you are completely closed. Whatever you do in a state of internal resistance (which can also be called negativity), it will cause even more external resistance, and the universe will not be on your side, life will not help you. Light cannot enter through closed shutters. When you internally give in and stop fighting, a new dimension of consciousness opens up. If action is possible... it will be done... supported by the creative mind... with which, in a state of inner openness, you become one. And then circumstances and people begin to help you, become one with you. There are happy coincidences. Everything is in your favor. If action is not possible, you are at peace and inner peace that come with refusing to fight.

--- Eastern wisdom ---

It is worth striving for such a state of consciousness in which all events will be perceived neutrally.

The true secret to achieving peace of mind is that it is not determined by external circumstances, but by your choice. Choice of perspective on situations and way of thinking.

1. live in the present.
The past cannot be brought back, and the future depends on what you think and do at the moment. So pay attention to the present, focus on doing everything you do the best way and just live. Don't let life pass you by because you live in the past or the future.
2. meditate.
Meditation teaches you mental and physical discipline as well as emotional self-control. It's easy and enjoyable, and it's one of the most powerful self-development tools you can use right now!

3. express gratitude.
Express gratitude for everything "Good" and everything "bad", for everything that you experience, learn and adopt. Express gratitude for everything that awaits you in the future. Allow yourself to be enveloped in the warmth and light of gratitude.

5. know that "this too shall pass."
Change is part of life. Be calm and patient - let everything happen naturally and organically. Develop the courage to focus on desired results and not on the problem.

6. simplify your life.
Simplicity gives inner peace - due to the fact that you correctly direct your energy. Get rid of everything you don't need, including connections and friendships that don't do you any good. Focus on what's important to you. Do not overload yourself with an excessive amount of things, tasks and information. Leave one or two goals that are most dear to you.

7. smile.
Smiling can open doors, turn "no" into "yes" and instantly change the mood (both yours and those around you. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Smile at family members, employees, everyone who catches your eye. Smiling radiates the energy of love - and what you send is what you receive. It is impossible to smile sincerely and at the same time feel anger, sadness, fear or envy.Smiling, you can only feel happiness and peace.

8. bring the work you have started to its logical end.
Close the circle. Unfinished business (unforgiveness, unspoken words, unfinished projects and tasks) is a heavy burden for your consciousness, whether you feel it or not. Each unfinished business takes energy from the present.

9. be true to yourself.
Love yourself. Make your dreams come true and express yourself. Find your purpose and fulfill it.

10. don't worry.
How much time do you spend worrying about what "could happen"? And which of these really happened (and ruined your life? Little, if not nothing at all…right? Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want.

11. take care of your health.
Take care of your body: exercise, play games sport games eat right and get enough sleep. Add energy to yourself with daily exercises and monitor your well-being.

12. morning is wiser than evening.
Sometimes, when you are overwhelmed with problems, it is not possible to fall asleep. First of all, do your best to physically fix the problem. Only in the event that nothing can be done, turn to the energy solution of the problem. Visualize the ideal state of affairs (in which the given problem does not exist) until the problem goes away on its own or until a solution comes to you.

13. Adhere to the principles of Sufism in your speech.
This ancient tradition stipulates that you should only say something if: 1) it is true 2) it is necessary and 3 it is kind words. Attention! Only if something you want to say doesn't meet these criteria, don't say it.

14. Use the off button.
Avoid information and sensory overload. Turn off the TV, smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer, mp3 player (unless you listen to audio recordings for meditation or relaxation. Learn to simply "Be", not necessarily "doing" anything.

15. Don't do everything at the same time.
Do one thing and do it well. Take a holistic approach in everything and do your best.

16. start with the most difficult.
Don't put things off until later. A large amount of mental and emotional energy is wasted out of fear of doing things we don't want to do - tedious, unpleasant, difficult, or intimidating. Deal with them - only properly, in the best possible way. And then move on to simple things.

17. keep balance.
Promote success and inner peace by maintaining balance in your life.

18. Cross money off your priority list. Strive to be a person who is wealthy in terms of relationships, not material goods.

19. you go quieter - you will continue.

According to them, only those who are looking for it in panic and running around will not be able to find a way out of the labyrinth. The one who is internally calm will always see from a height both the labyrinth itself and the way out of it.

The calmer and more balanced a person is, the more powerful his potential and the greater his success in good and worthy deeds. Equanimity of mind is one of the greatest treasures of wisdom.

1. Do not interfere in other people's problems

Many women create a lot of problems for themselves when they interfere in other people's affairs. At such moments, they are convinced that they are doing the right thing, trying to help and advise. Often they can criticize and try to guide others on the right path. But such communion is a denial of individuality, that is, of God. After all, he created each of us unique. It must be remembered that all people act as their divine essence tells them. Don't worry about others - love yourself and take care of yourself!

2. You need to be able to forget and forgive

by the most effective way to achieve a woman's peace of mind is the ability to forget insults and forgive them. Often women carry negative feelings inside themselves towards people who once offended them. Constant dissatisfaction only fuels such resentment, which leads to repetition. bad attitude of people. You need to believe in the justice of God, allowing him to judge the actions of people who have hurt you. Don't waste your life on trifles. Learn to forgive and look only forward!

3. Don't Seek Social Acceptance

There is no need to show your selfishness in everything, pursuing only personal gain. There is no one perfect in this world. Don't expect recognition from others. Better believe in yourself. Someone else's recognition and encouragement does not last long. Always remember sincerity and morality when you carry out your duties. Everything else is the will of God.

4. Changing the world, start with yourself

You need to believe in it and become stronger and more tolerant.

9) Fly over your life in your imagination.
10) Unfocus your eyes and just notice in your peripheral vision everything that is happening around you for a few minutes.
11) Give some coins to charity.
12) Imagine that you are inside a transparent protective bubble that protects you.
13) Put your hand on your heart and feel how it beats. This is great.
14) Promise yourself that no matter what, you will keep a positive attitude for the rest of the day.
15) Be grateful that you don't always get what you want.

The true secret to achieving peace of mind is that it is not determined by external circumstances, but by your choice. Choice of perspective on situations and way of thinking.

1. live in the present.
The past cannot be brought back, and the future depends on what you think and do at the moment. So pay attention to the present, focus on doing the best you can in everything you do, and just live.

4. let go of your usual view of things, look at the world from a different angle. Your point of view is not "The Law", but only one of many points of view. Your way of looking at things can cause you stress. Look at the world with an unrestricted view.

5. know that "this too shall pass."
Change is part of life. Be calm and patient - let everything happen naturally and organically. Develop the courage that allows you to focus on the desired results, not the problem.

6. simplify your life.

Take care of your body: exercise, play sports, eat right and get enough sleep.

This ancient tradition dictates that you should only say something if: 1) it's true, 2) it's necessary, and 3 it's kind.

Enjoy this journey called "Life". Everything will happen when the time comes. Pay attention to every moment of life and appreciate it. Where to hurry? As soon as you reach the goal, new tasks and problems will certainly appear.

20. Use your imagination. Building the life of your dreams starts in the imagination. It is there that you take the canvas and paints and paint the most desirable life!

In this hectic life, we often simply lack peace. Someone is just very impressionable and is nervous all the time, someone is overcome by problems and difficulties, bad thoughts.

Stop, take a breath, look around, it's time to become aware in this life race.

I dare to give you some tips on how to find peace in the soul, they are all quite simple and easy to follow.

1. Give - receive!

If any difficulties have appeared in your life and it seems to you that the whole world is against you, do not cry and do not suffer. Find another person who needs help and do everything to solve his problems.

2. Do not demand and learn to forgive!

Do not get angry, forget about all your claims, try not to get into quarrels and disputes.

3. Do not get upset over trifles!

Life is largely determined by the internal state of a person. If his soul is dark and empty, then it will be sad, if it is good and clear, then it will be bright and full of perspectives.

4. Look at life differently!

Don't snarl, don't get defensive, don't turn into modern "zombies" or "robots" who think only about how bad their life is. Remember that all your thoughts are material. Think only good things, and this will certainly affect your mood and your reality.

5. Don't make yourself a victim!

Finally, free yourself from the illusion that you are driven into a corner by some unfavorable circumstances or the aggression of others. Your life is in your hands!

6. Don't judge!

For at least a day or two, do not criticize anyone.

7. Live in the present!

Rejoice in what is happening to you right now. Are you sitting at the computer? Fine! Would you like tea? Wonderful! Pour and drink. Don't project your negative thoughts into the future.

8. Stop playing and pretending!

There is no need to deceive anyone. Cry when you feel like crying and laugh when you're really laughing. Finally, take off your mask and show the rest of the person you really are.

9. Do what you want, not others

Stop acting on someone else's orders, listen to yourself and understand what you really want.

10. Know and love yourself!

Communicate alone with yourself, look for the motives of your actions and desires. Don't judge or criticize yourself. After all, you are the person who is, and that's wonderful.

11. Exercise!

  • Inhale, count to 4 and exhale slowly.
  • Write down your own thoughts and 3 best life events on paper.
  • Sit on the porch or on a bench and just relax, contemplate and look for positive and beautiful moments in the space around you.
  • Imagine yourself floating above the ground in a transparent protective bubble.
  • Talk to your inner self.
  • Get a head massage.

Even these simple exercises will help you take your mind off problems, calm down and think positively.

12. Meditate!
Solitude and silence, contemplation of nature is one of the best ways to find peace of mind and harmony, use it.

13. Don't let bad thoughts "come"!

Get rid of anything that can upset you. Use the substitution principle. Does a bad thought come? Urgently find something positive that will drive out your bad thoughts. Fill the space around you with joy and positivity.

14. Listen to soothing music!

It will help you relax and slow down your thoughts.

15. Look at the fire of candles or a fireplace!

It gives an inner smile and the energy of magical warmth, simply mesmerizing.

In addition to all of the above, you can listen to birds singing and the sounds of rain, smell fresh flowers, contemplate the starry sky and falling snow, relax, do yoga, take a bath with incense, share smiles and love.

Remember that the great Samurai always won thanks to their inner peace and the ability to see beauty in their surroundings. According to them, only those who are looking for it in panic and running around will not be able to find a way out of the labyrinth. The one who is internally calm will always see from a height both the labyrinth itself and the way out of it.

Happiness to you and peace of mind!

With love to you, In search of yourself.

In our time, people live very restlessly, which is due to various negative realities of a political, economic and social nature. Added to this is a powerful stream of negative information that falls on people from television screens, from Internet news sites and newspaper pages.

Modern medicine is often unable to relieve stress. She is not able to cope with mental and physical disorders, various diseases that are caused by mental imbalance due to negative emotions, anxiety, anxiety, fear, despair, etc.

Such emotions have a destructive effect on the human body at the cellular level, deplete its vitality, and lead to premature aging.

Insomnia and loss of strength, hypertension and diabetes, heart and stomach diseases, oncological diseases - this is not a complete list of those serious ailments, the main cause of which can be stressful conditions of the body resulting from such harmful emotions.

Plato once said: “The biggest mistake of doctors is that they try to cure a person's body without trying to cure his soul; however, the soul and the body are one and cannot be treated separately!”

Centuries have passed, even millennia, but this saying of the great philosopher of antiquity remains true today. In modern living conditions, the problem of psychological support for people, protecting their psyche from negative emotions has become extremely relevant.

How to achieve inner harmony and peace of mind

  1. Recognize your NOT ideality and the right to make mistakes. Excessive ambition and self-demanding not only lead to mental balance, but also make a person be in constant stress. Take the mistakes you make as a life lesson and an opportunity to gain valuable experience.
  2. Live here and now. This will help get rid of fictional fears associated with the future. Often a person worries about what might happen and forgets that it may or may NOT happen. Focus your attention on the present, and solve problems as they arise.
  3. Learn to say NO. Stop shifting other people's problems onto yourself, and your life will become much easier and more harmonious.
  4. Build internal boundaries. The loss of your peace of mind may be due to worries about the other person, or taking on their responsibilities. Do not let others impose the rules of the game on you, and let's clearly understand the boundaries of what is permitted in communication with you.
  5. Don't keep all your experiences to yourself. A great psychological technique to get rid of the loss of calmness is to say out loud what is bothering you. By expressing your feelings in words, you will come to the conclusion that everything is not as bad as you thought. Do not be alone with your feelings and problems. Share them with a loved one who will understand and help.
  6. Give vent to your emotions regularly. Do not keep everything that has accumulated. Throw out the negative, and you will feel much better. Find out the 5 best ways to deal with stress and use them.
  7. Learn to forgive and forget. It happens that this is not as easy to do as it seems at first glance. If you are unable to cope with resentment on your own, seek the help of a psychologist.
  8. Focus on the end result, and perceive temporary difficulties as stepping stones on the way to achieving your goal.

Tomorrow will be what it should be

and there will be nothing that should not be -

don't fuss.

If there is no peace within us, it is useless to look for it outside.

Unburdened by worries -
enjoys life.
Gaining is not happy
losing does not grieve, because he knows
that fate is not permanent.
When we're not bound by things
serenity is fully known.
If the body does not rest from tension,
it wears out.
If the spirit is always in worries,
he fades.

Chuang Tzu ---

If you throw a stick to a dog, he will look at this stick. And if you throw a stick to a lion, then he will, without looking up, look at the thrower. This is a formal phrase that was said during disputes in ancient China, if the interlocutor began to cling to words and stopped seeing the main thing.

When I breathe in, I calm my body and mind.
As I exhale, I smile.
Being in the present moment, I know that this moment is amazing!

Allow yourself to breathe deeply and do not drive yourself into a framework.

Strength belongs to those who believe in their strength.

Develop the habit of monitoring your mental-emotional state through self-observation. It is good to regularly ask yourself: "Am I calm at the moment?" is a question that is useful to ask yourself regularly. You can also ask: "What is going on inside me at the moment?"

The most effective way to achieve a woman's peace of mind is the ability to forget insults and forgive them. Often women carry negative feelings inside themselves towards people who once offended them. Constant dissatisfaction only fuels such resentment, which leads to a repetition of people's bad attitudes.

Do not try to change the world around you alone. Nobody has been able to do this yet. Changes need to start with yourself, with self-knowledge and self-development. In this case, an unfriendly environment will become harmonious and pleasant for you.

5. You have to put up with what you can't change.

The best way to turn weaknesses into strengths is acceptance. A woman every day faces irritations, inconveniences and negative circumstances that are beyond her control. It is necessary to learn to accept such manifestations in your address. If God willed it so, then it must be so. Divine logic is not subject to our understanding. You need to believe in it and become stronger and more tolerant.

6. Practice Meditation Regularly

Meditation is the best way to free the mind from thoughts. It gives the highest state of peace of mind. Daily meditation for 30 minutes allows you to keep calm throughout the rest of the day. This increases efficiency and allows you to fully enjoy life.

Major troublemakers

1) Take a deep breath for one-two-three-four, hold your breath for the same period, then exhale just as smoothly.
2) Take a pen and write down your thoughts on paper.
3) Recognize that life is hard.
4) Write down your three most successful events in life.
5) Tell a friend or loved one what he or she means to you.
6) Sit on the porch and do nothing. Promise yourself to do it more often.
7) Give yourself permission to just mess around for a while.
8) Look at the clouds for a few minutes.

How to find peace of mind in a raging world of suffering, worries, worries, constant problems, etc.? How to maintain Christian peace of mind in situations where we are annoyed by people or pissed off by various situations?

Often we feel weary and then we understand what the words of Christ mean: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest” (). Whoever is young cannot fully feel this: there is no burden on him, but a mature person himself has gone through many dangers, sorrows, difficulties, failures, impotence, and the years add to him fatigue, hardships, and he wants to rest, shift where get rid of this burden, get rid of it.

The one who can truly give relief is Christ. Nobody else. Everything else that we do is human, it can only help us to some extent, for example: we can go on a trip, go to the village to good friend to some other nice place. This also helps and calms us, but not deeply. Only Christ can truly repose the soul of a person, because He Himself is the Rest of our souls.

As we say at the Holy Liturgy, "let us commit ourselves, and each other, and our whole life to Christ our God." Let us surrender to Christ the whole burden of our “I” and the “I” of the people around us, our worries, anxieties, torments, fears, sorrows, pain, complaints - we will unload all this into the hands of God and surrender ourselves to Christ God.

As Elder Paisius said more than once, we are like a man holding a sack full of junk on his back. And God comes and snatches it from our hands so that we do not carry this bag full of all kinds of lewdness, rubbish and sewage, but we do not let it go. We want to keep it with us and everywhere, where we are going, carry with you. But then God comes and pulls him out:

Yes, leave him, let him out, throw away this bag full of all sorts of things! Drop it, don't carry it around. So what did you get into it? Why do you need him? To make you tormented and tormented in vain?

But we - no, we won't let him out for anything! Like stubborn children holding something tightly and not wanting to give it away.

A young man once came to Mount Athos to become a monk, but he was tormented by some difficulties. And one day, when he was in the temple, the elder looked at his face and said:

Look at this young man: he does not let a single thought escape from him!

That is, he does not allow any thought to run away from him and he would remain for 5 minutes without thoughts.

His mind is like a mill, constantly grinding something. He puts material into it, puts stones, and it gives out dust and sand.

He called him and said:

Go here! Well, why are you sitting like a television antenna that receives all the waves sent from the transmitter! Leave at least some, let it run! Your mind is like a windmill that keeps turning. Watch what you put into your mind! Naturally, if you put stones in, dust and sand will come out and the dust will rise like a pillar. So invest good material into your mind. Put in good, good thoughts, good ideas, put in a prayer, because in this way you only torment yourself. After all, everything that you endlessly grind falls on you, and not on anyone, and you torment yourself in vain.

A person must learn to take care of himself so that there is no disorder in his mind that has no end and which destroys us: because our mind can destroy us and create many problems for us. Therefore, we must turn to God through prayer, confession, humility, and leave everything that occupies us in the hands of God, and find peace. And you will find rest for your souls.

Christ came into the world to comfort us, not to confuse us, to confuse us. Give us rest, rest, because He knows that we are tired, and the more time passes, the more we get tired. This is a great art, and the Church owns it.

Once I spoke with a psychologist, and he asked me:

How many people do you take per day?

I answered him:

Now that I'm older, I can't stand it much: 50-60, up to 70 a day. And when I lived in the monastery of Mahera and was younger, sometimes there were 150: I started at 4 in the morning and finished at 7-8 in the evening or later.

He told me:

What you are doing to yourself is not good, it is very cruel. We can't have more than ten people a day. As psychologists who accept people, we accept at most ten people, we can't take any more.

Yes, but we have only one advantage - as soon as we leave the confessional, everything disappears. This is an amazing phenomenon. After all, we hear so much! Just think what the confessor hears. Nothing nice, and above all, no one says nice things to us. It's like a doctor. Is there anyone going to the doctor who would say to him:

Doctor, I've come for you to look at me, otherwise I'm too healthy!

No. Only diseases, wounds, blood, pain. And we will not go to the confessor to present to him our virtues, achievements, joyful events in life, but only the bad, mournful, indecent, only failures. And you're a man, how long can you endlessly listen to only bad things and sins?

One child once asked me:

Sir, has anyone come to tell you that they committed murder?

I told him:

And you are not dumbfounded?

Not dumbfounded.

He looked at me in surprise.

But seriously?

Yes, I'm serious.

And if he was alone... Many people today are burdened, and there are so many problems in the world. But we do not retain all this in ourselves, and therefore our stomach and heart do not suffer, we do not fall under the weight of human pain, but we transfer all this to Christ, because Christ is God's Lamb who takes and bears the sin of the world, and our sin too. Christ is the One who is really present there and takes all this weight. And we do nothing, we are just ministers, we do our service, well, there is Christ accepting every person.

I tell you this not only from my own experience as a person who confesses, that is, a believer who confesses once every 2-3 months, but also as a person who has confessed people for more than 35 years, who has confessed thousands of people. And I tell you that this is a sacrament that we perform 50 times a day, and often daily, to the point of complete exhaustion, but I am completely convinced that Christ is present there. We see it all the time: He receives people, He listens to people, He answers people, He heals a person, and we are the spectators of it all.

Like a bank teller, through whose hands millions of rubles pass a day, but they are not his. He takes them, writes them down, sends them to the boss - he just does this job. The same is true with the spiritual father. He is a witness, he testifies there of God's presence, he is an instrument that God uses. But Christ performs the great sacrament of healing a person, answers what a person asks, Christ performs the mystery of the salvation of a person.

This is the greatest experience a person can ever have. I often say this when I ordain priests, that from now on you will see how God works with your hands. God will be your daily reality. It's a miracle, an everyday miracle, repeated hundreds of times a day, when all these interventions of God (as the fathers say) happen without you doing anything. You are simply fulfilling the external part of this relationship between man and God, but in reality Christ, who takes away the sin of the world, takes the burden - ours and the whole world's.

But in order to feel this, one must first understand that Christ takes away our sins - confessors, priests, bishops, and if He takes away my sins, then He takes away the sins of all people. And I cannot be indignant or doubt that He will bear the sins of my brother. Because our personal experience- this is a huge proof that Christ came into the world to save sinners, as the holy apostle Paul says, of which I am the first ().

If Christ endures and saves me, if he has not rejected and removed me from sight, then I can tolerate any person, because, without any doubt, my brother is better than me. Whatever he did. Because, without any doubt, there is no one below me. This is how a person should feel, that "there is no one below me."

Although it seems to us that it is hard, but in fact it makes it very easy, because the more a person humbles himself before God, the more he recognizes that God is his Savior, and thanks Him for saving him, for becoming a Man. for us that endures us. And when I say “tolerate”, I mean myself, and not others, myself, each of us individually.

So, when I feel this, the more I feel it, the easier it becomes for me, and the more I cry and sob about my wretchedness and wretchedness, the more consolation I feel. This is the secret of the Church. You find joy not in worldly joy, but in pain. Where pain is visible, where sorrow is visible, where the cross is visible, where fatigue is visible, there is consolation. There, on the Cross, joy. As we say, "behold, through the Cross joy has come to the whole world."

In sorrow, in repentance, in the feat of repentance with humility, a person receives rest. This is something paradoxical. In the Church, the more a person cries, the more he rejoices. The more he learns the art of tears, crying in prayer, the more he rests and cleanses. Tears in spiritual space are the key that reveals to us the mysteries of God, the mysteries of God's grace. And the more he cries, the more he rejoices, rejoices, consoles himself, cleanses himself and receives rest.

Our hope and faith are in Christ, He is our rest. Without Him we do not rest. No one can give us rest. And what we think gives us rest exhausts us unimaginably. A person thinks that if he is rich, he will feel good. However, wealth is a merciless, ruthless, cruel tyrant; there is no joy in it. It is a burden that, like a shadow, constantly haunts you.

A person may think that worldly fame gives relief when you have great fame, name, power in the world. But nothing of the kind, absolutely nothing: all this fatigue, burden, deceit, tormenting us unimaginably. None of this can bring relief to a person, he receives relief only near God, only in what is true, authentic, only in that he conquers death. Everything else is doomed to death, and this tires us unimaginably, because first of all it brings us uncertainty.

What can help me? Can I count on my health? What health? After all, I don’t even know what will happen to me in the next minute. And, thank God, today we have so many diseases waiting for us. So many dangers, difficulties, misfortunes, fears. So who can give me certainty? Certainty is the false feeling these worldly things give you.

As the gospel says last times that fear will reign on earth, today fear, uncertainty is a huge phenomenon. If you talk to someone about illness, he will immediately tell you: “Knock on wood so that we stay healthy!” Knock on wood. Yes, knock on anything you like: even on wood, even on a plank, even on iron, even on a wall, whatever you want, but when the time comes to knock on your door of illness, then we'll see what you will knock on. No matter what you knock on, nothing will work for you.

We hide reality, it terrifies us. All this, in essence, torments us, while Christ is really the Quiet Light. He is God's Light, enlightening a person, calming him, calming him, giving him a sense of the eternal Kingdom of God. When a person has a feeling of the eternal Kingdom, what can terrify him, what can disturb his mood? Nothing frightens him, even death itself - for God's man it all takes on a different dimension.

Of course, we are human, and the human functions in us, but, as the holy apostle Paul says, we have hope in Christ. It is one thing to suffer without any hope, and another thing to have hope in Christ. It is a powerful foundation that you stand on and it is difficult to shake you. This foundation is Christ, our Savior, towards whom we have boldness, because we feel Him as our own: "My Christ," said the saints. And Christ, the Savior of the whole world, brings us to God. Becoming a Man, He led the whole world to God the Father.

Having faith in God, in Christ, we become unshakable. We do not hesitate, we do not budge when waves of temptations, lack of faith, difficulties, when hard times come, overwhelm us. After all, God allows even great saints to find themselves in very difficult situations, there are unimaginably difficult moments when God seems to leave people and is silent, and you feel that you are alone. And not only that, but all the evil falls on you at once, and one evil follows another, one temptation follows another, one failure after another, and you no longer see God anywhere. You don't feel Him, as if He abandoned you. But we remain convinced that God is present.

As Elder Joseph the Hesychast said to himself when these thoughts choked him: “Everything that you say is good. There is a mass of logical evidence and evidence that all this is as you say. But where is God here? Where is God? Will He leave us in this position? Is it possible for God to leave us? God never leaves us. And if we fry in life's temptations, then God is also there, with us.

And then, when these tribulations pass, we will see that the most spiritually fruitful period of our life, when Christ was really with us, was precisely the period of many tribulations. There, among many sorrows, God's grace is hidden, and not among joys.

Among the joys is also good. And here we also thank God. But who does not say in the midst of joys: “Glory to God”? Isn't it true that when we feel joy, we say: “Glory to God! We are fine!" However, can we say: “Thank God, everything is bad with us! Thank God we are sick! Thank God we are dying! Thank God everything is falling apart around me. But still, thank God.” Like Saint John, who always spoke and ended his life with the words: “Glory to God for everything!”

It is a great thing to praise God for everything: both joyful and mournful, both easy and difficult, both for successes and for failures. But most of all, for sorrow. Sorrows make us mature, and when everything is fine with us, then we forget - such is our nature - we forget God, our neighbors, our brothers and all the people suffering around us ...

Metropolitan Athanasius of Limassol

Translated from the Bulgarian Stanka Kosovo

Everyone has moments in life when they experience emotional discomfort. It depends on the external factors, such as the situation in which he found himself, or internal state his soul.

Experiencing dissatisfaction with his life, a person literally loses peace, cannot concentrate on work and personal relationships, and is faced with loss of appetite and sleep.

If you are familiar with such a state, find out its causes and ways to find inner harmony with yourself and the world around you.

  2. Live here and now. This will help get rid of fictional fears associated with the future. Often a person worries about what might happen and forgets that it may or may NOT happen. Focus your attention on the present, and solve problems as they arise.

  7. Learn to forgive and forget. It happens that this is not as easy to do as it seems at first glance. If you are unable to cope with resentment on your own, seek the help of a psychologist.
  8. Focus on the end result and perceive temporary difficulties as steps on the way to the realization of your goal.
