Non-traditional forms of book exhibitions have appeared in libraries in recent decades. Given the growing needs and increasingly diverse interests of readers, librarians strive to make exhibitions more interesting and attractive. For this, a variety of techniques are used. A variety of concepts and terms can be chosen - economic (inflation, default), political (inauguration, impeachment), art history, literary criticism, etc.
The titles of the sections of the exhibition are concepts and their definitions taken from the dictionary and drawn up on separate sheets of paper in the same way as quotations. Nearby are books, articles from newspapers and magazines containing detailed information about these concepts.
An example of a book exhibition-dictionary: "From the piggy bank of the literary critic's grandfather." The purpose of the exhibition is to explain the meaning of some literary terms, to acquaint with interesting materials, revealing their content, which will help prepare an oral message for a literature lesson, write an essay, an abstract.

Literary analysis of the work, statements by critics and writers about it;

The exhibition can also display different editions of this book, illustrations made by different artists, stills from film adaptations, sheet music, cassettes with music for films, etc.
It is very important for such an exhibition to choose the right book. It should be bright, meaningful, interesting, not ordinary. It can be classics - of past centuries and modern. Or a local history book.
Why do libraries arrange "exhibitions of forgotten books"? It would be more correct to call them “exhibitions of undeservedly forgotten books”. The purpose of such exhibitions is to remind about good fiction and popular science books, which for some reason are not popular with readers. The significance of these exhibitions is especially great for children's readers. Many of them read modern children's literature and do not know the books their parents read at all.
The exhibition can be called “Favorite children's books of our fathers and mothers” or “These books were read by our grandmothers”. Such exhibitions are very relevant not only because they promote mutual understanding between generations. When is it better to use a book quiz exhibition and a book exhibition crossword in a library? The purpose of these exhibitions is to stimulate the interest of children's readers in reading books on some topic or problem. Since many children have little or no motivation and desire to study a topic, a book quiz exhibition comes to the aid of the librarian. She often plays the role of a kind of "carrot" with which the librarian "lures" children to read certain books.
The methodology for the development of this exhibition is similar to the thematic one. The difference here is that the librarian makes up questions, the answers to which children will find in the books presented at the exhibition. These questions are drawn up on a piece of paper and placed on the exhibition.
You can get creative with the design. For example, to develop an exhibition-quiz "The Miracle Tree of Korney Chukovsky". Evaluating the Effectiveness of a Book Exhibition: Time Period exhibition work - 1 month.
