Unusual exhibitions in the library. Exhibition work of the library

Non-traditional forms of book exhibitions have appeared in libraries in recent decades. Given the growing needs and increasingly diverse interests of readers, librarians strive to make exhibitions more interesting and attractive. For this, a variety of techniques are used. Those of them that have received the support and recognition of readers are developing and improving. So, in last years the following non-traditional forms of book exhibitions are widely used in library practice:

Book exhibition-discussion;

Book Exhibition-Dictionary;

Exhibition of one book (magazine, newspaper, publication);

Exhibition-quiz, exhibition-crossword puzzle, exhibition-competition;

Exhibition-game, exhibition-lotto

Exhibition-dialogue:

Hobby Exhibition,

Exhibition-exposition (exhibition-workshop, exhibition-studio, exhibition-pantry, exhibition-vegetable garden);

Reflection exhibition;

Exhibition-recognition;

Exhibition-symbol;

Exhibition-dossier (literary dossier of the reader),

Exhibition-benefit for the reader, etc.

What is a Discussion Book Exhibition? The purpose of the book exhibition-discussion is to arouse the readers' desire to argue, discuss, express their opinion on any issue or topic. For this, the exhibition should present literature covering this problem from different points of view. Most often, exhibition-discussions are devoted to some person, historical or political person, whose activities cannot be assessed unambiguously, or to any topic, problem, on this moment not resolved.

An example of a personal exhibition-discussion: "Space aliens: pros and cons" Sections:

1. "Yes, they do arrive!"

2. "No, they exist only in our imagination."

There are many things in the world, friend of Horatio,

That our sages never dreamed of.

W. Shakespeare

Or: "The truth is somewhere nearby."

The purpose of the exhibition is to interest readers with mysterious and sometimes unexplained phenomena, to acquaint with different points of view on them, to arouse a desire to reflect on this topic, to express your opinion.

Why is a book exhibition-dictionary drawn up in libraries? The purpose of this exhibition is to explain the meaning of any terms and concepts, as well as provide additional information about them. A variety of concepts and terms can be chosen - economic (inflation, default), political (inauguration, impeachment), art history, literary criticism, etc.

The titles of the sections of the exhibition are concepts and their definitions taken from the dictionary and drawn up on separate sheets of paper in the same way as quotations. Nearby are books, articles from newspapers and magazines containing detailed information about these concepts.

An example of a book exhibition-dictionary: "From the piggy bank of the literary critic's grandfather." The purpose of the exhibition is to explain the meaning of some literary terms, to acquaint with interesting materials, revealing their content, which will help prepare an oral message for a literature lesson, write an essay, an abstract.

1. PROTOTYPE - a real person who served the author to create a literary hero, image, type.

2. Nickname - a fictitious name or conventional sign with which the author signs his work.

3. Parody - a comic image of a work of art, style, genre.

4. Plagiarism - literary theft, publication of someone else's work or part of it under his own name.

How to arrange an exhibition of one book correctly? The goal is to interest readers in a particular book, this can be achieved by presenting at the exhibition a variety of material that helps to reveal the content of the book and contributes to a deeper understanding of it.

This may include the following information:

About the history of the creation of the book;

About the prototypes of the heroes of the work, their fate;

Literary analysis of the work, statements by critics and writers about it;

Stories famous people and library readers about the role of this book in their lives;

On the film adaptation of the work; stories of the director and actors about the work on the film, etc.

The exhibition can also display different editions of this book, illustrations made by different artists, stills from film adaptations, sheet music, cassettes with music for films, etc.

It is very important for such an exhibition to choose the right book. It should be bright, meaningful, interesting, not ordinary. It can be classics - of past centuries and modern. Or a local history book.

Why do libraries arrange "exhibitions of forgotten books"? It would be more correct to call them “exhibitions of undeservedly forgotten books”. The purpose of such exhibitions is to remind about good fiction and popular science books, which for some reason are not popular with readers. The significance of these exhibitions is especially great for children's readers. Many of them read modern children's literature and do not know the books their parents read at all.

The exhibition can be called “Favorite children's books of our fathers and mothers” or “These books were read by our grandmothers”. Such exhibitions are very relevant not only because they promote mutual understanding between generations. They help to return to modern children books of a moral and ethical orientation, which are so necessary for their development - the works of Vladimir Zheleznikov, Vladislav Krapivin, Yuri Yakovlev, Albert Likhanov, Anatoly Aleksin.

What is a dialogue book exhibition? The book exhibition-dialogue is a correspondence conversation, ‘correspondence communication between the reader and the librarian. Readers ask questions, librarians answer them with books.

The organization of the exhibition is preceded by a large preparatory work... About a month before its registration, next to the issuing department, you can put glued from thick paper tetrahedron, (triangular pyramid). Write an appeal to readers on two sides:

Dear Reader! You are worried about hundreds of questions that you cannot answer on your own: about friendship, about love .... The book exhibition “Life poses problems” will help you learn about this and many other things. You can ask questions that interest you in writing, without giving your name. We will try to find answers to them in books and magazines.

On the third face of the tetrahedron, you can cut a gap where readers will drop notes with questions. Put paper and pencil next to the pyramid. Librarians read all questions, combine similar ones, then select literature that contains answers to them. Selected sources are arranged at the exhibition in sections, the names of which are questions asked by readers.

The exhibition-dialogue is most effective in working with teenage readers and young people, who, due to their age psychological characteristics cannot ask the librarian questions they are interested in orally. Themes for such exhibitions can be very diverse - friendship, love, interpersonal relationships of adolescents with peers, parents, teachers, smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction.

Example: exhibition - dialogue "Ecology: worries and hopes".

I picked a flower
And he wilted.
I caught a beetle
And he died.
And then I realized
What to touch
To beauty
It is possible only with the heart ...

Is the planet in danger?

Complaints book of the forest.

You are responsible for everyone you have tamed ...

Live together or die together? / Alerts of the Homeland /

Ecology of the soul / Raise the soul to goodness /.

When is it better to use a book quiz exhibition and a book exhibition crossword in a library? The purpose of these exhibitions is to stimulate the interest of children's readers in reading books on some topic or problem. Since many children have little or no motivation and desire to study a topic, a book quiz exhibition comes to the aid of the librarian. She often plays the role of a kind of "carrot" with which the librarian "lures" children to read certain books.

The methodology for the development of this exhibition is similar to the thematic one. The difference here is that the librarian makes up questions, the answers to which children will find in the books presented at the exhibition. These questions are drawn up on a piece of paper and placed on the exhibition.

You can get creative with the design. For example, to develop an exhibition-quiz "The Miracle Tree of Korney Chukovsky". Make a "miracle tree" from natural material, cardboard, paper and place it between two exhibition racks, which show different editions of Chukovsky's books and information about the writer. Cut out leaves from whatman paper, colored paper, write quiz questions on them and attach them to the branches of the "miracle tree". The most active readers who answered all the questions of the quiz correctly should be encouraged after summing up the results.

A book exhibition-crossword puzzle is arranged in a similar way, only instead of quiz questions, a crossword puzzle is compiled, which the children solve with the help of the books presented at the exhibition.

What is the difference from other exhibition-competition? The goal is not only to stimulate interest in reading, but also to foster a reading culture. The competition, as a rule, consists of several stages, at each of which children are asked to complete different tasks... At the beginning, the tasks are relatively simple: read books from the exhibition, answer questions. At the next stages, the tasks become more complicated, acquire a creative character - to draw an illustration, write a review, essay, story, essay on the topic of the exhibition, make an article, a homemade book, etc. All information about the competition must be presented at the exhibition. The works of all participants (or prize-winners and winners of the competition), after summing up the results, are exhibited at this or a special exhibition (for example, "We draw a fairy tale").

What is a hobby exhibition? A hobby in translation from English is a hobby, a hobby for yourself, at your leisure. Some of our readers collect buttons, some beautifully embroider or burn wood, and some enthusiastically build models of cathedrals and churches from matches. With the consent and with the help of a reader who is fond of beading, it is possible to arrange an exhibition "Beaded Fairy Tale" in the library. The exhibition will feature books and articles on the history and technology of beading, various beadwork made by the reader, her advice to novice craftswomen.

Instead of a quote, you can place the reader's statement about the role and meaning of this hobby in her life. The photographs of the craftswoman behind her favorite handicrafts and some of her biographical data will be appropriate at the exhibition.

An interesting hobby exhibition will turn out for a reader who is keen on any personality, topic, problem (for example, the work of Viktor Tsoi) and collects material on this topic. With its help, we can arrange an exhibition at which we will present materials and documents from the reader's personal collection. Information about this must be present at the exhibition, and the reader can hold conversations at the exhibition. There are no restrictions on the choice of the reader whose hobby we represent at the hobby exhibition. It can be a child reader, his parents, grandmother, grandfather, maybe a librarian himself, or maybe a whole family.

V recent times in libraries, book exhibitions created jointly by the reader and the librarian are very popular. Such exhibitions are the result high level their relationship. On the one hand, in this way the librarian thanks the reader for the long-term cooperation with the library, on the other hand, he shows the readers what interesting personality you can become what creative heights to achieve if you love the book and actively visit the library.

Such exhibitions include an exhibition-dossier ("Literary dossier of the reader", "From the reader's form ...", etc.). Here are usually the favorite books of our reader, his portrait, autobiography, answers to the questionnaire, statements about the role of the book and the library in his life, as well as reviews, opinions, impressions of the books read, advice and recommendations to other readers. The exhibition-dossier of a teenage reader will be especially interesting for peer readers. It was at this age the main role the opinion of peers, not adults, plays a role in the choice of books to read.

Today in children's libraries such a visual form as a book exhibition-game is actively used. Her goal is to attract people to book and reading through play. For example, "Read - Let's Play", "Read, Craft, Play", "Favorite Books - Favorite Toys", etc. At first, such exhibitions were designed mainly for preschoolers and junior schoolchildren... At the exhibition, next to the books, toys depicting the heroes of the books were placed.

For most children of this age, reading technique is still weak. They quickly get tired of reading, and then they can take toys from the exhibition and play with them the situations they just read, and also come up with their own continuation. This not only helps the child to take a break from reading, but also contributes to the education of a reading culture.

With the help of such an exhibition, it is possible to hold “literary hide and seek” in the library. Before starting the toy from the exhibition, it is necessary to remove it to another display rack or table. During the game, the librarian asks questions. The child who guessed which hero in question, calls his name, author and title of the book. Then he goes to the shelf with toys, finds the guessed hero and puts it next to the book at the exhibition. Literary hide and seek ends when the last toy takes its place next to the book.

In recent years, the number of children-visitors who do not like and do not want to read have noticeably increased in children's libraries, but they come to the library because it is cozy, warm, light, and they are allowed in for free. As a rule, these are children from dysfunctional families who just have nowhere else to go. Such children are happy to play board games in a specially equipped corner-game library, they browse magazines, comics. The book exhibition-game will help the librarian to attract such children to reading, to interest them in the book.

A book exhibition is a synthesis of a library and a museum exhibition. The items and accessories presented at it contribute to a deeper penetration into the topic of the exhibition, a deeper understanding and perception of the documents presented at it. Moreover, there are much more items and accessories here than at an ordinary library exhibition, and books and other documents fit well into the exposition. For example, you can arrange an exhibition-exposition "Edible crumbly" in the form of a Russian stove, using antique cast iron, earthenware, embroidered towels, homespun rugs for decoration. Place wicker baskets on a wide wooden bench near the "stove", in which to put books telling readers about the peculiarities of the culture and life of the Russian people. Attach the name "Basket of recipes" to one of the baskets, and fill the basket itself with books with recipes for Russian cuisine.

Above you can hang a poster-appeal: "Cook yourself a dish, eat - good or bad." On the stove bench, put a doll - the brownie Kuzya, and next to it - a chest with culinary riddles. Above the chest there is an inscription: "Move, don't get tired and guess the riddles!"

For readers who want to test their knowledge of Russian cuisine, you can develop a crossword puzzle "Vkusnyatina!" Such an exhibition-exposition will attract the attention of many readers and will be useful not only for children, but also for adults. Near such an exhibition you can hold interesting conversations, loud readings, bibliographic reviews, quizzes, children's matinees and holidays. It would be appropriate to use elements of puppet theatricalization. For example, Kuzya the brownie can "come to life", get off the bed and invite children and adults to his place, to the "Visiting Kuzi" holiday, where he will be the main character.

It is possible to design and design an interesting exhibition-exposition dedicated to dogs. Call it - "One hundred friends of a hundred stripes" or "About those who bark." “Build” a dog kennel from plywood or cardboard, next to it “chain” a dog (soft toy).

Another dog can "guard" a drawer with books about dogs, the third - offer readers a zoocrossword.

In addition to books, articles from newspapers and magazines, the exhibition includes wall calendars, calendars and postcards depicting dogs, children's crafts and drawings. For the design of a book exhibition-exposition, a variety of, sometimes unexpected materials can be used. For example, a photo wallpaper depicting a beautiful autumn forest.
