“Of course, when a child falls ill, the heart of the parents cannot be calm, excitement begins, which often, unfortunately, turns into fussiness. And prayer helps to leave this fussiness. Here you can do this. If mom and dad feel that they are in a state of panic, then you need to stop for a moment. Just get up and do nothing. Come to the icon. Pluck up courage. Pray. Then quietly, calmly continue your business.
Because this fussiness brings nothing but frustration to the child, even from the point of view of elementary psychophysiology, which, of course, is not very attached here, but simply as an effect of a concomitant nature, it always manifests itself - a calm child, indeed, is always in a state of such - something of balance, the inner middle, in this inner balance, it starts all physiological processes in a different way. They just flow in a completely different way, they reach the goal. A person who dances on the spot will never hit the top ten with a bow. You need to stop - and then shoot.
And if there is a very high temperature or acute poisoning, or some other danger, when every second is precious?

When the Lord and his disciples were sailing in the boat, he fell asleep, a storm began, so that the boat was covered with waves, the disciples woke Him up in fear and trembling, and the first thing He said: “Why are you so fearful, little faith?” How could you doubt whether you will stay alive or not, if I am with you, in the same boat? Spiritual life of the family

Already from the age of seven, or even earlier, one can read the canonical text so that the child is accustomed to full-fledged spiritual food. Do not feed him with artificial nutrition, but breast milk. And also the lives of the saints. Their exploits and patience will strengthen us.
How important it is for a child to enter the spiritual life! Everything changes: even the high temperature does not cause him much anxiety. Even some bodily troubles are tolerated differently. There are no whims that often accompany illnesses, increased demands on parents, constant “moms! dad!”- on which the parents run and curl around him. When a child gets sick, he already knows how to behave during an illness.”
A prayer appeal for bodily health does not contradict Christian morality, because the Lord does not send illnesses to people, but allows bodily trials in order to save a person’s soul.

Other children then also begin to live with sympathy, begin to speak in a whisper, every morning they come up to a sick brother or sister with the question: “How are you feeling?” They already feel responsible for it. And, most importantly, the children begin to pray for their brother or sister. Child and suffering. How to comprehend it, how to bear it?
Priest Alexei Grachev:
“Having been in orphanage, you leave with the feeling that maybe this world, which the enemy of the human race is trying to turn into a continuous “Disneyland” with senselessly happy robots chewing and smiling from ear to ear, this fallen pornographic world is still holding on only because there are children who, with their suffering outweigh the scales of our godlessness and impenitence. The fate of these children will be revealed in eternity. Diseases and "abnormalities" are phenomena only of earthly life. If God did not create death, but it entered the world through apostasy from Him, through sin, then all the more He did not create diseases...
Sick children take upon themselves the feat of martyrdom and foolishness so that the Lord is not completely angry with this world, and we, perhaps thanks to them, still have time to repent. But we, due to our impenitence, due to our habit not to think about our sins, but to blame someone else for them, do not feel this.
And here is the grumbling: if, they say, God is just, then how does He allow the suffering of children?
Yes, God is just. He does not teach us to sin. He says: “Be perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).
It would not be difficult for us to ask why children suffer, if in this, as in everything, we looked to Christ the Savior, measured our whole life with Him. What are the children suffering for? Why did the Savior Himself suffer? For He is sinless. Every baby born into the world bears the stamp of original sin. But the Lord didn't even have that. He - purer than any child - suffered, and how! ..
Here is the answer to the question: why do children suffer? For our sins. For our carelessness about the salvation of their souls, about our own salvation. Our parental task is not only to provide children with a physical existence, but above all, to educate them spiritually, to open the way to God for them. Here is the word of the Savior: “Do not hinder them from coming to Me” (Matthew 19:14).
If we don’t bring a baby to church, don’t teach him to pray, if we don’t have an icon, the Gospel at home, if we don’t try to live piously, then we prevent him from coming to Christ. And this is our main sin, which also falls on our children.
That is why children suffer for our sins, even if they are not to blame. We are connected with them by an invisible thread, they have our blood, spirit. If they were not our children, they would not suffer for us. But then they would not have been born from us. Sin, therefore, is the greatest evil, because the innocent suffer from it. But according to the same law, the sins of others are expiated by the sufferings of some. “By His stripes we shall be healed,” we say of the Lord Jesus Christ, who opened the door of salvation to us.”

“In the case of an extreme case, when a person preparing for baptism is in mortal danger, and the priest cannot arrive soon, the laity can also perform baptism so that someone does not die unenlightened. You can and should be baptized at any time - from the day the baby is born. If necessary, you can baptize and boiled water, and unclean water from a puddle.
