Do-it-yourself pool at the dacha from scrap materials. How to build a pool with your own hands: step by step building a pool in the country

Every summer resident dreams of the early arrival of summer and imagines himself on vacation on sunny, hot days. In order to refresh yourself comfortably in cool water on vacation, you need to take care in advance about building or purchasing a bathhouse. Many owners refuse this idea, considering it too costly and time-consuming. In fact, any novice builder can make a small swimming pool at the dacha with his own hands. You just need to study different manufacturing methods, choose the appropriate option and follow the instructions step by step.

What available materials can be used to build a country pool?

You can, of course, buy one ready-made from expensive materials and invite a team of installation specialists, but often a modest budget does not allow for large-scale construction. Many summer residents give up, and the pond remains a pipe dream for them. But a thrifty owner will definitely find available and inexpensive materials and independently make a durable and beautiful pool that will last for many years and will become a real decoration of the site.

As you walk around your property, don't miss the following useful materials and things:

It is very important to choose a suitable location on the site to install the pool.

The choice of location has been made, now you need to draw a sketch with dimensions and mark the dimensions of the structure with pegs in place, and prepare the necessary tools.

For any type of pool, it is necessary to make a platform so that the bowl stands level and firmly all season.

Stages of foundation preparation:

  1. Remove the top loose layer of soil with grass, eliminate potholes, uneven areas, remove stones, debris, and uproot protruding roots. If you decide to deepen the bowl, then dig a pit with a reserve of space for the outer lining of the sides.
  2. Level the surface strictly horizontally, pour a small layer of crushed stone, and compact it thoroughly.
  3. If possible, cover with geotextile, which will protect the pool from gnawing by insects and weeds from growing under it, and will also strengthen and level the base.
  4. Pour a sand cushion 10 cm thick, lay insulation or a special polypropylene substrate under the bottom.

Making a pool from pallets

This structure can be built in less than a day and will cost very little.

For work you will need the following tools and materials:

  • old wooden pallets, at least 9 pieces, depending on the size of the structure. They are made in standard dimensions 80x120 cm;
  • level;
  • roulette;
  • pegs and cord for marking;
  • jigsaw;
  • planer for processing boards;
  • boards;
  • nails;
  • hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • screws,
  • tie straps for fastening pallets into a single frame;
  • film for lining the inside of the bowl;
  • construction stapler;
  • siding or finishing boards;
  • felt;
  • scotch;
  • antiseptic impregnation;
  • paint and varnish.

Installation steps:

  1. Prepare the site or dig a pit if you want to deepen the pool. Line it with polystyrene foam or other insulation to help the water warm up faster. Place a tarpaulin or mat on top.
  2. Treat all wooden elements with antiseptic and antifungal impregnation to prevent rotting and destruction of the wood.

    Lay out the substrate on the site and begin to mount the pallets sequentially

  3. Place the pallets vertically in a circular shape, with the boarding facing inwards, and knock them together using boards at the top, bottom and middle to form a single frame structure. Reinforce it with tightening straps, clamps or other available materials.

    For reliability, secure the pallet structure using boards and special belts.

  4. Sheathe the inside of the structure with siding, cover it with boards, fill it with sand, and line the inside with waterproofing film.

    Prepare the inside of the pool

  5. Then lay felt or old blankets and towels on the bottom and sides for softness, secure them with tape or a construction stapler.

    Lay out old blankets and towels for softness.

  6. Cover the top of the sides and bottom of the pool with a finishing layer of film and straighten it. Blue material will look great. Nail the edges from the boards on top, securing and removing all protruding edges and edges. Now you can draw water and check the bowl for leaks.

    Lay a film in the pool and cover the outside with finishing material

Tire pool

First you need to find a larger tire, for example, a BelAZ tire has a diameter of more than 300 cm and a width of more than 95 cm, and prepare the necessary tools and building materials:

  • hacksaw or sharp knife;
  • level;
  • bag of cement M-300;
  • water;
  • sand;
  • crushed stone;
  • liquid soap;
  • paint and any decorative elements;
  • container for mixing the solution, drill with mixer attachment;
  • shovel.

Stages of work:

The properties of rubber will allow you to enjoy such a work for many years without fear of leaks and destruction.

Film pool

This method is the fastest - it allows you to create a budget version of a bathhouse in two hours, which can be installed right in the garden. It should be noted that such an express bowl will serve until the first puncture of the film.

Step-by-step manufacturing instructions:

If necessary, such a reservoir is quickly removed until the next hot season.

Swimming pool made of plastic pipes

There are ready-made prefabricated models of swimming pools on sale, the frame of which is made of PVC pipes, and the bowl is made of thick soft material or also of plastic. This design can be made on your own from pipes left over from repairs or purchased. They are inexpensive and are sold at any hardware store.

To work you will need:

  • PVC fabric, which does not allow water to pass through and is used for making awnings and inflatable boats, it is very durable and is sold in various densities, an excellent solution for a homemade pool;
  • shovel;
  • sand;
  • crushed stone;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • marker;
  • an iron for soldering pipes or a construction hair dryer with a special nozzle for welding film;
  • insulation;
  • geotextiles.

Assembly takes place in several stages:

The bathhouse is usually small or medium in size; it can be disassembled in the fall and hidden in the closet until next summer.

Rules of care

In order for a homemade pool to last for several years, it needs proper care.

Having your own pool on your property is not a luxury item; it is quite affordable for an ordinary summer resident and can be made independently without significant financial costs. Thanks to the use of simple designs and inexpensive materials at hand, as well as simple rules for care and water purification, the pool will become a decoration of the dacha and will serve for a comfortable stay for more than one season.

A swimming pool at the dacha is a great opportunity to take a swim on a hot summer day after hard work in the garden, and for the kids it will be just paradise. But it is not always possible to buy an expensive plastic or inflatable pool. You can make a small pool with your own hands simply from scrap materials such as tires, pallets, containers, bathtubs that you can find in your yard or you can get them completely free.

Available materials: advantages and disadvantages

There is a large number of different materials from which you can make yourself in a short time a comfortable country pool, where not only children, but also their parents can splash in the summer. And for this you will not need to spend a lot of money and purchase expensive tools, as in the case of building a stationary concrete pool.

From tires

If you have the opportunity to find or ask your friend a tractor driver for an old unnecessary tire, then you can make an excellent pool at your dacha in which all family members can swim.

The old tire will serve as the frame (sides) for the pool, and the bottom will need to be filled with concrete, about 15 centimeters thick. It is necessary to pour concrete not only inside, but also outside for more waterproofing. It will also be necessary to install a tap to drain the water and provide a cleaning facility (filter) for the pool. In a week you will be able to use this pool without any problems.

But there are both advantages and disadvantages of this material for constructing a pool.

Advantages of pool tires Disadvantages of pool tires
There is no need to look for materials to construct the sidesSmall size. Adults will not be able to swim or dive
The round and waterproof tire is a ready-made containerYou can only swim in a sitting position
A thick layer of rubber will reliably hold waterSuitable for only one or two adults and a maximum of three children
The rubber frame can be easily decorated (painted, covered with stone or tiles)Often the specific smell of rubber and machine oils remains for a long time
Not afraid of water pressure
High degree of reliability and durability

From wooden pallets

Wooden pallets have long been used to make garden furniture and can now be used to build a swimming pool. Their sizes and shapes allow the construction of walls (sides) for a reservoir. In order to make a good round structure, you will need to take 9 pallets. Then the pool can freely accommodate about 6 people.

AdvantagesFlaws
High sides allow you to fill the pool with more waterThe wooden structure requires additional reinforcement with textile tie straps or stops
Climbing ladder and slide can be installedThe pool must be covered with facing material
There is no need to dig a deep round pitThe wooden frame must be treated with antiseptics and antifungal agents
Easy to install and dismantle if necessaryBefore adding water, regularly check the integrity of the trays and tighten the belts
Wood is an environmentally friendly material
Easy to replace any section

From plastic bottles

Plastic bottles have long been a popular building material for summer residents. These are convenient and practical products from which you can build a fairly high and strong round, oval, square or rectangular pool wall structure using cement mortar.

Meanwhile, there are a number of advantages and disadvantages of plastic bottles as a material for constructing a swimming pool.

From a cast iron bath

Very often, when making renovations in an apartment, we throw away old cast iron or steel bathtubs, which can now be useful in the country and not only for collecting rainwater. From such a bathroom you can make a small pool for children who can splash in warm water while relaxing in the country. To build such a pool, you only need the bathtub itself, a certain amount of sand and decorative finishing materials at hand.

From the container

If you have an empty container at your dacha in which you previously stored your tools, now it can easily become a beautiful and deep pool. But if you decide to make such a pond at your dacha, and the container is not available, then you can always purchase it at an affordable price from a shipping company.

Advantages Flaws
Affordable priceMetal is susceptible to corrosion (if improperly processed)
Minimum costs and time for constructionThe need for waterproofing
Long service life of metal structureDifficulty in transporting a large container
Does not deform during the entire period of operationAttracting additional labor
Can withstand high water pressureAdditional costs for materials
Minimum costs for excavation work (a shallow pit will be required)
Easy to insert communications (all pipes can be connected to the frame without welding)
Mobility and ease of use (can be easily dismantled if necessary)
Withstands high water pressure
Large degree of spaciousness

From reinforced concrete rings

Reinforced concrete rings, from which wells are constructed, and sewer systems are perfect for constructing a small pool on a personal plot. The height of the standard ring is 90 cm, so the depth of the pool will be quite sufficient for children and adults, and the maximum diameter is 2 meters. The round ring is already a ready-made structure for the pool walls, but in order to create a leak-proof reservoir, you will need to additionally purchase geotextiles, concrete mortar and sand.

From gabions

Gabions are stones placed in a special metal mesh. Since the mesh can have a variety of geometric shapes, the pool can be made according to your wishes. Such a pool will look great on a personal plot and, moreover, will not require additional decoration.

How to make a pool from a tire with your own hands

Calculation of required materials

In order to make a sufficiently voluminous pool from a tire, we recommend paying attention to Belaz truck tires. The diameter of this tire ranges from 1.62 to 3.575 meters, and the width from 49.8 to 114 centimeters. If you need to choose the right size, you can use a special table.

  • In order to find out the volume of the future pool, we need to make some simple calculations using the formula V=π·r 2 ·h, where V denotes the volume of a round reservoir; the number π is a constant that is equal to 3.14; r - radius of the circle; h - tire height. We need to find out the radius of the circle. To do this, we divide the diameter value by two: 3.575:2 = 1.7875 mm.
  • Then we substitute our numbers and get the volume of the structure: 3.14 x 1.7875 2 x 1.149 = 11.4371 m 3. We get a round number of 11.438 m 3.
  • In order to make the base of the pool, we will need to purchase sand and cement mortar. The sand cushion and concrete bottom must be at least 15 cm thick, so we need to calculate the amount of these materials.
  • Sand: 3.14x3.1951x0.15=1.504 m3. We will need a little more cement mortar, so we need to add 2 more buckets to this volume.

As a finishing material, we can take oil paint of various colors, which we will use to paint the outer frame of the pool. Or you can decorate it with small natural stones.

List of tools

  • A good, sharp, large knife (preferably a hunting knife).
  • Shovels and bayonet.
  • Large containers for cement mortar, sand and water.
  • Concrete mixer (or a special construction container for preparing concrete mortar).
  • Level.
  • A tape measure of at least 5 meters.

Stages of work

  1. Using a knife, we make a deep cut on one side of the tire. And in order for us to get an even cut, we need to walk the knife exactly along the marked circles of the tire. We do not recommend using a grinder, since during operation the rubber will melt and stick to the cutting wheel, and it will also crumble badly.
  2. We determine a place for the pool and clear it well. We remove unnecessary plants and debris, and then pour a layer of sand and compact it well. You can moisten the sand a little and then it will keep its shape. We need to make a layer of sand of 15 centimeters so that the diameter of the pillow is 15–20 centimeters larger than the diameter of the tire.
  3. We pour the prepared concrete solution on top of the pillow to create a layer of about 15 centimeters. We place a tire on top of the solution and pour two buckets of solution inside it.
  4. We now leave our pool for about a week to allow the concrete to harden well.
  5. After this, we can take waterproof paint and paint the inside (walls) of the pool so that they are not black, but, for example, blue, turquoise or green to match the color of the water. We can decorate the outer walls of the tire to suit our taste: paint it with oil paint, cover it with pieces of broken tiles like a mosaic, cover it with small stones, etc.

How and what to paint

If you decide to paint a tire pool, you can use nitro paint, enamel, oil paint or aerosol for painting cars.

Video: how to make a pool from a large tire

Such a pool does not require special operating conditions, since truck tires are designed to operate even in the most severe weather conditions and at any temperature. Therefore, the pool will serve you for many years.

Periodically, its inner and outer parts, as well as the bottom, will have to be repainted, since even the most waterproof paint will eventually begin to crack and peel.

Construction of a reservoir from pallets (pallets)

Calculation of required materials

Pallets will be an excellent solution for a country pool. From these we will build the walls of the structure and the more pallets we take, the larger and rounder our pool will be.

  • In order to calculate the volume of a reservoir, we will use the mathematical formula S=A

    2 -a 2, where "A" is the side of the square that contains the octagon, and "a" is the side of the octagon. Therefore, “a” will be 1.2 meters long for the side of the pallet.

  • First, we find the value of “A” using the formula below:
  • The result from the root is 1.41421356. Next, using this formula we find the fraction and it turns out to be 0.8485281. Then we substitute our numbers into the formula to calculate side “A”: 1.2 + 2x0.8485281 = 2.8970562 m.
  • We calculate the area of the structure: S=A 2 -a 2 and we get 2.8970562 2 – 1.2 2 =8.3929346–1.44=6.9529346m2. Now we round up our figure and get 6.95 m 2.
  • Having all the values, we calculate the volume of the pool using the formula V=S base xh, where “h” is the height of the structure, which is 0.9 meters. We get 6.95x0.9 = 6.255 m3.

Tools

  • Large shovels of various types.
  • Big hammer.
  • Electric or cordless screwdriver.
  • Concrete mixer.
  • Buckets for sand, water and concrete.
  • Gravel or crushed stone (the amount is calculated based on the diameter of the pool).
  • Electric jigsaw.
  • Sander or sandpaper.
  • Minimum 10 meter tape measure.
  • Stakes and strong cord.
  • Square.
  • Rule (level) and plumb.
  • Marker or pencil.
  • Large pliers.
  • Wood planer.
  • Hardware.

Stages of work

  1. First, we treat all pallets with antiseptic and antifungal agents and special impregnations, since the wood will be in close proximity to water.
  2. For the pool sections we take 120x90 cm pallets. From them we will create an octagonal-shaped structure.
  3. Using shovels, we dig a round pit so that our diameter is slightly larger than the size of the future reservoir.
  4. We level the bottom of the hole well and fill it with crushed stone or gravel - a layer of 20 centimeters.
  5. Inside the pit we assemble a frame from pallets (8 pieces). Before this, we lay thick polyethylene at the bottom of the pit. We place the pallets as a solid part inside the structure.
  6. We connect all the elements with boards that are nailed or screwed along the perimeter of the sides of the frame. We reinforce the joints with wooden blocks using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws.
  7. We make holes in the frame of the required diameter to install a good drainage system.
  8. After assembling the entire frame, we must firmly secure it with two secure tie straps in a circle at the top and bottom of the pool.
  9. We insert plastic pipes into the holes prepared in advance for supplying and draining water.
  10. In order to further strengthen our frame, we drive wooden pegs into the distance between the pallets and the walls of the pit.
  11. We fill the bottom of the pool with 10 mm of concrete solution and leave it for 5–7 days for it to completely harden.
  12. After the concrete has dried, we begin waterproofing work. To do this, we take a thick polyethylene film and lay it over the entire inner surface of the pool. We secure it with tape to the sides.
  13. We can decorate the outer sides of the pool frame with OSB, chipboard or fiberboard, as they will help hide all the unaesthetic elements of the pallet fastenings. You can also quickly and inexpensively decorate the frame with ordinary rolls of reeds, bamboo, etc. fastened together.

Nuances of care and operation

It is necessary to carefully care for such a pool. Regularly check the plastic film for cuts or other damage that could allow water to leak through. Over time, even a small leak from a small hole will damage the wooden frame (mold, rot will appear, the wood will swell, etc.).

Periodically, you will need to drain the water and thoroughly wash the pool of sand, dirt and other debris. If you don't have good filters, you will have to change the water often, and this is very expensive, so it is best to purchase a good water purification device once. You can even use a homemade sand filter, which is the most common among summer residents who make their own pools.

Also, once a year or several years, if necessary, it will be necessary to re-treat the wooden parts of the pool with special impregnations.

Swimming pool at the dacha made of PVC bottles

Calculation of materials

Plastic bottles have already become an almost integral attribute of summer residents, as they use them to make many different items for their summer cottage: furniture, fences for flower beds and front gardens, hotbeds and greenhouses, including swimming pools.

Tools for work

  • Shovels (you can order a small excavator).
  • Electric screwdriver.
  • Concrete mixer.
  • Bucket for garbage, water and solution.
  • Minimum 10 meter tape measure.
  • Pegs and strong cord.
  • Large corner.
  • Level (rule) and plumb.
  • Marker or pencil.
  • Hardware (nails and screws).

Construction stages

  1. We choose a flat area and clear it well. Such a pool will stand perfectly on a slab foundation.
  2. We dig a flat pit measuring 4x2 meters and 15 centimeters deep.
  3. We level the bottom of the pit and compact it well. We pour sand (slightly moistened) on top and distribute it evenly around the entire perimeter, and then compress it to a layer of 15 cm. We also fill in a small layer of gravel.
  4. We make formwork from wide boards, and to prevent the frame from falling apart, we hammer wedges into the ground from the outer sides.
  5. We make a lattice from reinforcement (diameter 8 mm) in order to strengthen the base. We tighten the connecting points of the rods with wire. The grid cell is approximately 10x10 cm, and its area is 8 square meters.
  6. We lay such a frame made of reinforcement on the bottom so that it does not come into contact with the sand. And for this we install a small support made of broken bricks. And then we put the frame on top.
  7. We supply the necessary pipes for supplying and draining water.
  8. We pour the concrete solution and level it well with a special tool (a rule or just a flat board).
  9. Let the solution harden for 5–7 days.
  10. Then we move on to laying walls from PVC bottles and for this we mark out the geometry of the pool.
  11. We fill each bottle with sand and screw on the lid. Then we apply a wide strip of solution to the marking.
  12. From reinforcement (diameter 0.3 mm) we make a frame that will serve as a connecting element between rows of plastic bottles.
  13. We place the bottles very tightly next to each other on the cement mortar, and fill the resulting gaps between them with cement. After we have laid the first row, we fill it with cement and lay a frame of reinforcement.
  14. We remove the formwork and begin masonry with bottles until we have a wall of the required height. If our pool is round, then in the center of the structure we install a homemade compass in the form of a metal pin with a horizontal crossbar, which will help you not deviate from the radius.
  15. We leave our walls for 5-7 days so that the cement mortar is completely dry. After this we begin to plaster the walls. We cover the inner surface of the pool with bitumen as waterproofing.
  16. Next we begin finishing work. We take a plastic film, which is necessary for arranging the interior of the pool. We lay it well, stretch it, cut off the excess, and weld the joints and carefully treat them with special glue or sealant.
  17. Now you can decorate the area around the pool at your own discretion.

Care and operation

In order to keep the water in the pool clean, it is necessary to install appropriate filters.

Rest and recreation are now only a dream for many people, because not everyone can afford a train to the sea. The reason for this is simple - there is little money. This is not happy, but the situation can be corrected if you are the happy owner of a house. If the sea is unattainable, then you can make an indoor pool at your dacha, which will also please you and your family.

You just need to make a little effort, and your summer cottage will become a wonderful home resort. Just a few years ago it was almost impossible to create an artificial pond on the site.

Today, everyone can afford this luxury item. Yes, yes, and all because swimming bowls in their variety of types and prices have expanded so much that choosing a pool that suits your means will not be difficult.

Building a pool on your property is a great way to relax in the summer heat. If it is of decent size, then you can not only splash, but do swims in the mornings and evenings. And how much joy the children will get! Excellent well-being is guaranteed to you.

And the dachas of the 21st century are no longer so similar to those they used to be. Now I’m going out of town not to starve myself of planting cucumbers and tomatoes, as well as many other household chores. works. Exhausted by the pace of city life, residents of large cities turn their plots of land into recreational areas designed “to suit themselves,” and in this case a swimming pool will be an excellent addition.

Artificial pond in the country- this is not only a new comfort zone, but also a place for a special microclimate and even a reservoir with water for emergencies when there is nothing to water the flower beds with. In general, the benefits of a pool are obvious if you install the container correctly and operate it strictly according to the instructions.

Which pool should you choose?

On the modern market you will find three popular categories of pools:

  1. Collapsible.
  2. Stationary.
  3. Inflatable.

They all differ in shape, design and size. These are the main parameters that will influence your choice. You will choose what to choose based on the size of the plot, conditions and preferences. But it should be said that each of the options is good in its own way.

Stationary

The name speaks for itself. Such containers are installed turnkey. Such pools are either medium or large. According to the type of installation they are divided into:

  1. Frameless

Frameless structures built into the ground

To operate such a model, it will have to be equipped with some systems, at a minimum, this is a water supply, drainage and cleaning system. If you don’t take care of this in advance, within a couple of weeks you will be swimming not in clean water, but in dirty slurry. You can refuse the purification system, but think for yourself - where will you drain 14 tons of water, and how much will it cost you to fill the pool every 2 weeks with clean water? These costs will be more expensive than it would cost you to purchase and install the purifier once.

It looks great, and if you are mentally prepared to endure all the difficulties with installation and arrangement, then you should not refuse this option. If not, give preference to a frame container, since installation problems (and costs) will be much less.

But many summer residents are seriously concerned that they will have to spend a lot of time on cleaning, so they decided to make an indoor pool in their country house with their own hands. This is the right decision, since the pool will only need to be cleaned once every six months.

When choosing the type of container for your dacha, do not forget about the climatic features of the region. Most containers, even without water, simply will not withstand local frosts, so you will have to invest in frost-resistant models.

Collapsible

Such pools are classified as small and medium in size. The thing is that it is almost impossible to assemble it yourself, and the procedure is quite expensive. But the advantage of the model is that it is ideal for unguarded areas. It can be assembled, filled with water upon arrival, and dismantled in the fall and sent to the barn.

This type of pool also needs filtration, but there is no need to install complex systems. For small volumes, you can limit yourself to disinfection with reagents that are harmless and of high quality.

Inflatable

Naturally, such pools cannot be large, which is great. Due to its size, the pool is suitable for those owners whose plots are not so large, and the advantage is that storing such models is not problematic - you can even fold them into a sofa. You can also take the pool with you on a picnic. For large models, a metal frame is provided - it is assembled from hollow tubes (made of aluminum).

What are indoor pools for cottages made of?

When choosing a pool, you should remember that they can be made of any materials. This is especially true for stationary models. Manufacturers have fallen in love with materials such as plastic and other composite materials.

Products made from polypropylene have good characteristics and can withstand temperature changes well. They can be used all year round.

Plastic containers are more fragile and may burst when the temperature drops. It is not used to create large tanks, but is not uncommon for medium-sized tanks. It is also used for folding structures and decorative colored pools.

More practical models are made from composite. The material can transform, but the body does not break through. The walls cannot be scratched or broken. Such a pool will be durable, which is why it is used to create an indoor pool.

But all types have one drawback– they have a standard appearance, so if you want a unique pool, you will need to build it yourself. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s the way your heart desires.

Separation by filling type

According to the filling methods, pools can be:

  • Overflow.
  • Skimmer.

In the first models, a grate is made in the tank, through which overflowing water enters the storage tank. This system visually increases the size of the container and allows you to always maintain a certain water level.

In skimmer models everything is somewhat different. They cannot be filled to the brim of at least 15 cm, since there are no storage tanks. The water that enters the tank is purified through a skimmer. This is an inexpensive option, which is why it is very popular in the private sector.

Finishing materials

An indoor swimming pool at your dacha can be decorated with the following materials:

  • Polypropylene.
  • Mosaic.
  • Tile.
  • PVC film.

The film is sold in rolls and can be of any color. The most popular are blue, white, light blue shades. The role of such finishing has a dual meaning: waterproofing and aesthetics.

Polypropylene is a polymer that has high strength, is easy to weld and is resistant to aggressive climate conditions. Usually they buy blue polypropylene.

But mosaics and tiles are chosen with a low level of water absorption. Ceramics are used to decorate a public pool, and mosaics will fit perfectly into a summer cottage. A pool with this finish will appear visually deeper.

Location

It’s not enough to choose a pool, you need to think about how you will care for it, so we suggest planning everything in advance.

Important: If you have clay soil on your site, then this is an ideal option for installation.

When planning container placement, consider the following points:

  1. If your soil is clay, you don’t even have to choose a location for installation. If the waterproofing fails, it will stop water leakage.
  2. The area where you plan to place the pool should have a natural slope. In this case, it will be easier for you to dig a pit and choose a place to install the drainage system.
  3. You should not place an indoor pool in your dacha where there is shade from tall trees. Plants sense moisture and can easily damage the waterproofing. The most aggressive trees are willow, chestnut and poplar.
  4. If the pool is located near a water supply, this will make it easier to fill the container with water.

Dimensions

The ratio of length and width is correlated with the general purpose. If you want to do swims, give preference to a rectangular shape. For a simple “splash”, it is better to make a round shape. Depth will also be important. If you are a fan of jumping from the side, then the bottom should be at least 1.5 m deep. To place a tower or springboard, you will need a greater depth - at least 2.5 m. But you can make the bowl deeper in the place for jumping, and then bring it to standard depth.

The biggest difficulty in creating an indoor pool with your own hands will be the combined type, which is suitable for both children and parents. The zones will have to be separated by partitions that will go from the very bottom. This way, children will be protected from falling into deep water.

Attention! In this type of pool, you should make a flat bottom that will smoothly descend. Sharp jumps are unacceptable for safety reasons, because walking along the bottom you can inadvertently miss the line and choke. Don't ignore this advice.

Design of an indoor pool at the dacha

When you come to decorating, do not forget that you have a pool, not a pond, and you should decorate it accordingly. This is done using paving slabs or wood decking. The pool bowl can be hidden behind a stepped deck. If you are planning a large stationary pool, entrust this matter to professionals.

To do everything at its best, the plants will need to be planted in tubs or containers. In this case, there will be no interaction with the treated water. Regarding the plants themselves, choose those that can withstand all weather conditions. These include juniper, Chinese rose, oleander, agapanthus, yucca gloriousa, and southern cordyline.

How to make a pool with your own hands at the dacha - step-by-step instructions

As an example, let's consider the most cost-effective project that will require only your skills and strength - a pit pool with a concrete base. If you need dacha deep pool – then the pitted version will be just right, because you choose the depth yourself.

Preparatory process

Before you start building a concrete pool, you must have:

  1. Pool project;
  2. Exact location;
  3. Exact dimensions that match the available space on your site.
  4. Construction Materials:
  • Concrete grade M350-M400, frost resistance index F200, water resistance W6. For the concrete pool bowl, heavy concrete with plasticizers and hydrophobic additives is used.
  • Cement grade 400.
  • Sand of medium granulation.
  • Fiber fiber.
  • Plasticizer.
  • Reinforcement (rigid - rolled I-beams, channels, angles, flexible - individual rods of smooth and periodic profile, welded or knitted meshes and frames). Depending on the design of your pool, you can use steel reinforcement or composite (polymer). For the formwork and the area around the pool, reinforcement of wood origin (bamboo) is suitable.

5. Tools: trowel, meter, level and plumb line, shovel, construction tape, sharp knife, hacksaw, container for mixing concrete, construction mixer.

ADVICE!It is not necessary to mix the concrete solution yourself; you can order a ready-made mixture. This will be faster and more efficient, since you will not have to measure proportions and calculate the volume of the required concrete components.

Construction

Considering the volume of your pool and choosing a location, proceed:

  1. To dig a pit. Please note that the minimum pool area is 16 square meters. meters. The deep pool of the dacha requires a pit 2-2.5 meters deep. Increase by 50 cm all dimensions from the pool design (length, height, width) - this will be the size of your pit.
  2. We strengthen the bottom of the pit. Pour sand - 30-40 cm, tamp it, cover it with roofing felt - 2-3 layers, seal it with mastic, put a layer of crushed stone, fill it with hydroconcrete.
  3. After the bottom has dried, we begin to concrete the walls of the pit. For this:
  • We install formwork and reinforcing wall.
  • We pour concrete into the space between the ground and the formwork. We take into account the water supply system - pipe outlet. Also places to install steps for descent.
  1. We wait for the concrete to set, then we remove the formwork and wipe the concrete walls with a concrete-water solution in a ratio of 1:3.
  2. If your project includes concrete steps to descend into the pool, proceed to concreting them.

Finishing work

When the concrete bowl is ready, you need to make a choice on the finishing material. Often, owners of swimming pools in their country houses use finishing tiles to cover the concrete surface of the pit. As a rule, tiles that are least susceptible to slipping are placed on the bottom to avoid injury hazards.

You can also use frame pools made of polypropylene, plastic, and composite materials. All additional frames will require additional financial investments, so in order to save money, you can line the pool with more economical materials. But if you want a beautiful design and durability of your newly built pool, then you can invest in polypropylene or composite materials. Which are different:

  1. Water resistance;
  2. Tightness;
  3. The beauty and variety of colors and shades;
  4. Durable in use.

It is desirable that the entire recreation area around the DIY pool be in the same style and in the style of the general interior of the site. For beauty, lighting is often used, which is installed in the form of surface and underwater spotlights. All this will add additional charm to a self-built country pool.

On a hot summer day, it’s hard to deny yourself the pleasure of cooling off in a cool pond. Not everyone has a country house on the banks of a river or lake, and building a permanent pool requires space, time, and material costs.

Is there an alternative to capital expensive construction? Fortunately, people's ingenuity did not ignore this issue. We have selected not just the most interesting and simple ideas, but also the most viable ones that can be realistically implemented on a summer cottage without special skills.

The presented structures are not designed for 10-year use; they do not comply with all swimming pool construction standards. But the authors set completely different goals: cheap, fast, seasonal. Nevertheless, certain rules must be followed during such construction, so first we will familiarize ourselves with the general recommendations.

Important points when planning and building a homemade pool

Regardless of the choice of material for the construction of a seasonal pool, we recommend paying attention to the following points:

  • the place for the pool should be in direct sunlight, and not in the partial shade of the garden: the water will heat up faster and there will be less debris in the form of falling leaves and insects;
  • the area must be leveled and compacted;
  • the bottom and walls of a homemade bowl should not have sharp protrusions or a hard surface;
  • you need to immediately think about how and where the water will be drained during regular replacement (especially if installing filters is not provided);
  • the frame needs to be strengthened so that the structure does not fall apart under water pressure;
  • when purchasing a waterproofing film (tarpaulin), take into account the size of the container with a margin of 50 cm around the entire perimeter.

When installing a budget pool, do not forget about landscaping the area around it. You can make an embankment of pebbles or river sand around the perimeter, decorate the approaches with decking boards, or simply knock down wooden flooring from old pallets. Also, for comfort, it is advisable to consider a towel rack.

Just dig a hole and cover it with film

The first stage is the most labor-intensive - digging a hole of suitable size and depth. When the pit is ready: the bottom is leveled and compacted, the walls are perpendicular to the bottom and do not crumble, proceed to the second stage - preparing the surfaces.

Cut cardboard boxes are laid on the bottom to make it soft to step on. The walls are covered with bags so that the film does not tear on uneven surfaces and plant roots.

At the third stage, the pit is covered with waterproofing film. The upper edge is pressed with stones, which additionally plays the role of decoration.

You can bury a bowl made of scrap materials, covered inside with film, into the soil. This will require a lot of effort, but it will be possible to increase the depth of the pool. Since the edges of the bowl protrude above the soil surface, the soil will not be washed into the water.

We are sure that you will like the idea of having a swimming pool. And by next season you won’t want to build temporary structures. The optimal solution would be to organize a pleasant vacation spot for many years to come. To build a private pool, it is best to contact professionals who will help at all stages of its construction. The company "POSEIDONSTROY" has already received many good reviews. They will be able to make a pool according to your wishes or offer standard projects for implementation.

Frame pool made from pallets

To begin, choose a flat area and cover it with a thick tarpaulin (perhaps an old banner or canopy). Next, take 9 pallets and fasten them with screws and slats. Pallets are placed on edge, connected by a ring. When the round frame is ready, it is secured with tie straps for additional rigidity.

At the next stage, the inner surface of the “bowl” is covered with thick greenhouse film, and old towels, bedspreads or blankets are placed on top at the junction of the pallets and on the bottom. This is done to soften the surface so that while swimming it is comfortable to press against the stacks and walk along the bottom.

The final layer is a waterproofing film. If it is blue or blue, the water in the pool will always be bright. Some advise using black film to improve water heating. It is important that under the film there are no open sharp corners, protruding boards or rough surfaces on which the film will quickly tear.

The film is secured to the top edge of the pallets using a special adhesive tape. For decorative finishing of the outside of the pool, you can use reeds or bamboo. Narrow boards are nailed on top to hide the pallets.

The frame can also be made rectangular by connecting the pallets at right angles. The bottom can also be lined with pallets.

To create the most comfortable area, you can attach a lighting stand to the corner and make steps from pallets.

These pools are filled with tap water from a garden hose and drained manually or using a low-power pump. If chemicals were not used for disinfection, then vegetable beds and flower beds can be safely watered with water.

Pool made from old boxes

The frame of the pool can be made from old wooden or plastic boxes. They make up a rectangular box, fasten each one together and additionally wrap it around the perimeter with plastic tape.

The structure is assembled on a tarpaulin. The inside of the box is covered with a thick waterproofing film, pressing the top edge with wooden boards.

A pond made of hay - simple and cool

Looking for available materials for the construction of a swimming pond in the dacha sector, enthusiasts turned their attention to hay, which is an indispensable attribute of agricultural land.

It is spread out on a prepared area, and sides are built from rectangular compressed bales. Further, everything is according to the already shown scheme: a thick film is covered in the resulting bowl, the structure is tightened with belts. To protect the waterproofing film from damage, cardboard or a thick tarpaulin can be placed on the hay as the first layer.

Pool on a metal frame

For those who are familiar with welding, it will not be difficult to make a simple pool with your own hands from metal.

Each wall is made separately from a profile pipe and galvanized sheet. The structure can be assembled by welding or made dismountable with bolts.

An insert made of waterproofing film is installed inside, which, if desired, can be made to order according to the dimensions of the resulting structure. You can decorate such a pool using flooring from pallets, and also make a cover.

To increase ease of use, it is recommended to install a pump with a filter and use disinfectants for regular use. Thanks to this, your pool will not turn into a muddy swamp in a few days, the water from which will need to be completely pumped out and replaced with new water on a regular basis.

Mini-pool made from a large tire

Our selection will be completed by a very simple idea for making a pond from a large diameter tire from heavy special equipment.

To expand the future pool, the first step is to trim the sidewalls of the tire. The resulting workpiece is installed on a pre-prepared concrete platform and filled with concrete. Thus, the tire and concrete form a bowl, which, after the concrete inside has dried, must be painted with a special paint.

As a result, you will get, albeit small, but not requiring much effort in maintenance and a very cozy pond that will help you cool off on hot days.
