By choosing the right place and preparing the necessary materials, you can build an entire installation with a slide, sandbox, and even a mini-pool.

One of the main elements of any children's playground is the sandbox. Let's look at, as an example, how to make it out of wood with step-by-step recommendations:

Place the sandbox in an open area with good viewing angle and visibility so that the child is always within the parent's line of sight.
To make playing in it comfortable and safe in summer, you can install a fungus or an umbrella over the sand to create shade.
First you need to build a base, let's take the dimensions of a square of 1.7 by 1.7 meters. For marking, you can use pegs, as well as a special fishing line or tape. The main goal will be to prevent rainwater from accumulating inside.
We remove the top layer of soil up to 0.3 meters (or 20 centimeters). When creating the base, remember that the sand should not be mixed with the ground. Therefore, the base of our sandbox will be a thick polyethylene film or special geotextile (we make holes in it up to 10 mm in diameter). Sprinkle a thin layer of sand under the base.
Let's start processing the frame parts. Since this is wood, all elements must be sanded well and coated with a special treatment. These will be the following components: 4 beams 50*50*450 mm, 4 boards 25*300*1700 mm, 4 horizontal planks for creating sides 25*150*1700 mm.
We begin assembling the frame only when all elements are thoroughly treated with an antiseptic. First, according to the markings, we install 4 beams to a depth of 150 cm; they must be laid strictly along the perimeter of the square.
We nail the boards to the bars, securing them with nails. This is how we secure the corners and align them. After which we proceed to install horizontal boards, on which children can lean while playing or sit. We fasten them with screws.
We lay geotextiles or protective film on the base, and then install another row of boards. We remove excess polyethylene and can cut it off with scissors.
At the final stage, you can install protection from the scorching sun. Most often in sandboxes you can find wooden mushrooms with a wide cap, painted with intricate designs in bright colors. But we will make two small benches.
To fill the structure, bring some coarse river sand up to 900 kilograms into the sandbox. The sand must be cleared of dirt and sifted before the child can play with it.

The more colorful and varied the playground is, the more fun you can have there. Even banal sandboxes and slides can bring kids a lot of joy. And if skillful dads get down to business and make photo cars for the playground with their own hands, then the children’s joy will know no bounds. To make children's transport you will not need expensive materials or complex tools. The work ahead is quite simple, even older children can be involved in it.

The easiest way is to buy such a complex, but it is much more interesting to make it yourself. The main criteria that must be adhered to when making a car for the playground with your own hands are safety and aesthetics. All parts must be firmly fastened together, making sure that bolts and nails do not stick out. If the car is wooden, plan the logs and boards well, protecting children's hands from splinters.

Idea for old tires

You can make a car for the playground from a wide variety of available materials. Even if the game element only vaguely resembles a real car, it doesn’t matter. Children's imagination knows no bounds, so a simple log can turn into a racing car or a passenger train. A mandatory attribute of any vehicle is a steering wheel. It will be great if it becomes a real steering wheel. However, you can also do it yourself; realism is not at all necessary.

Look at the photo - these wooden cars for the playground look very cute. To create them you will only need boards, logs and a little bright paint.

You can use ready-made boxes of different sizes. A large container will make a truck body or an entire bus, and smaller containers will make a cabin. A sandbox designed to look like a car looks interesting. For this purpose, the sides are made higher, wheels are attached to the sides, and a cabin is attached to the front.

Simple wooden car

Using the same principle, you can make an unusual motorcycle for the playground with your own hands. Its basis will be a small bench, the steering wheel will be blocks of wood. Wheels can be real or cut from OSB sheet.

Toy transport made from tires

It is very popular to decorate a children's playground with car tires. Game elements made from this material are durable and, most importantly, safe. Rubber is less traumatic than wooden or iron parts.

For the little ones

From old tires you can easily make unusual cars or a motorcycle for the playground. This type of transport is suitable even for the smallest children.

Metal game elements

Craftsmen who own a welding machine can build a metal car. This complex, which includes a small horizontal bar or ladder, is perfect for older children. If there is a seat in the car, it is better that it be made of wood.

A car made from a real old body will cause special delight. It is enough to clean it of rust, paint it in a bright color and attach a steering wheel. Thus, an item intended for recycling will acquire a new life.

Instructions for creating a simple wooden car

To make a wooden car with your own hands, you will need carpentry tools: a hacksaw, a hammer, a plane, as well as nails or screws. The material will be OSB boards and sheets.

Stages of work on building a truck with a sandbox body:

Before construction begins, raw boards are well planed and sanded. They are impregnated with drying oil to resist rotting.
Make at least a rough drawing of the future truck on paper indicating the main dimensions. Mark the contours of the body and cabin on the ground. To make it convenient for children to play, the part with the sandbox is made quite spacious, for example, 180 by 100 cm. The body can be of any size, but such that the kids can go there.
At the site of the body, remove the soil with a layer of 30 cm, cover the bottom with geotextile or tarpaulin so that the sand does not mix with the ground. Four posts 40 cm high are dug into the corners. Boards are screwed to the posts, forming a sandbox box that serves as a body.
They begin to build a cabin close to the sandbox. To do this, dig posts in the corners of the passenger and engine compartments, then screw planks or cut OSB sheets to them. The hood can be made liftable using regular door hinges. The space under the opening hood will serve not only for games, but also for storing toys.
A steering wheel is attached to the cabin, and on the sides of the car there are wheels made of tires or cut out of logs. The finished wooden car is painted.

DIY tire car

Making your own car out of tires for a playground is even easier than making one out of wood. To work you will need 11 old tires from a car, 2 boards for seats and a steering wheel.

Stages of work on creating a car from tires:

They mark the contours of the car directly on the ground and lay out old tires on them to get an idea of how the finished car will look. Four tires are placed on the sides, simulating wheels. It will take another five for the seats, and two for the engine compartment.
Remove the tires and dig holes for them. There is no need to dig very deep; a third of the height for the wheels and half for the back will be enough. The distance between the wheels is made so that a seat fits between them.
They put the tires in place and then cover them with earth. At this stage, a steering wheel attached to a long pipe is installed. It must be firmly dug into the ground, because little racers will drive recklessly and can break the shaky structure.
Tires for the seats are placed between the wheels, and rather wide planks are placed on them. The car is painted, decorated with headlights and old wheel caps.

Making a gaming motorcycle from old tires is very simple. They dig two tires into the ground one after another, and between them leave a place for sitting from a block of wood or a plank. The steering wheel is mounted at an angle in the front tire. More complex models require three or four tires.

Mark the outline of a motorcycle on the ground. If there is a small bench on the site, you can include it in the overall ensemble, then you will only need three tires.
The two rear wheels are dug vertically to a third of the height, leaving a seat between them. The third wheel is dug in at the front.
Another tire and a seat board are placed between the rear wheels. The steering wheel is attached to the front wheel.

Motorcycle for children's playground

There are a lot of design options for cars and motorcycles for playgrounds. The design can be complicated by adding additional tires or wooden elements. Undoubtedly, such a vehicle, made with love, will become the main place for children to play.

Why children need a playground is probably worth explaining only to someone who was born six feet tall, wearing a business-like three-piece with a tie, crocodile shoes and a cigar in his mouth. The cigar is, of course, electronic. Even the smoke from it is not chemical, but depicted by holography and is clearly visible without harmful anamorphic glasses.

There are plenty of manuals on how to build a playground for posterity. And in them - really valuable and necessary instructions on safety, reliability of fastenings, quality of materials, etc. However, having reviewed many of these, something like what appears in Fig. below. Paradise, no doubt. Okay, palm trees, a huge stump (it looks like no less than a 100-year-old eucalyptus tree). Maybe they have palm trees like we have quinoa, and they give away high-value industrial wood to everyone for free, just to take it out of sight.

However, in both cases, a middle-income householder who decides to please his children by making a playground for them with his own hands immediately faces the question: where to get the space? No less than 2 acres of land went into such a monumental structure, but what if there are only 6 of them at the dacha? Or even less in your personal local area? A playground for children is built when the economy has already been established. Therefore, next we will consider, first of all, how to correctly arrange everything that children need for joy, trying to keep it to 1 hundred square meters or less. But, of course, the very components of the playground for children will not be ignored.

The most difficult case

The most difficult thing to arrange is a children's playground in the country. In addition to the acute lack of space, she remains unattended and unguarded throughout the cold season. That is, in addition to resistance to external conditions and environmental friendliness, the material of the structure should not provide much temptation to possible thieves. At least a temptation worth the trouble of dismantling. Hence, the entire country play complex must be compact and strong and upon completion is inconvenient to approach with a tool. What if they end up being stolen or succumb to bad weather, this shouldn’t bring big losses.

The main material in this case is quite reliable, high-quality and affordable - construction pallets (pallets). Occupied area – only approx. 5 sq. m. Behind the climbing frame is a 2-story secret shelter. If one of the younger members of the family is a person of the fair sex, then the car is unceremoniously expelled to the green parking lot, and the garage is transformed into a boudoir, kiosk, doctor’s waiting room, etc. If there is sufficient area in front of the building, a ladder or slide can be attached to the captain's bridge.

About materials

The above case is not trivial. The materials at hand are used mainly for the design of the site; We will return to this issue later. But for its key structures (see below), high-quality construction materials are needed, because we are talking about the safety of the child.

Tree– coniferous without signs of rot, mold, cracks, or falling knots. Load-bearing elements – timber from 130x130 mm or log from 120 mm. Boards – edged or tongue-and-groove from 20 mm. Before assembly, the parts are treated with an oil water repellent (water repellent) or twice impregnated with a water-polymer emulsion. The best finishing coat is water-based acrylic varnish on a well-sanded surface.

The second most important material is metal. In addition to fasteners, heavily loaded elements are made of steel, for example. in sports facilities. In this case, it is preferable to connect the parts by welding: any protrusion is dangerous. The urchins manage to get caught on the seemingly completely smooth head of the bolt with clothing that seems completely unsuitable for this. Metal parts must be painted with a primer and twice. The best paint coatings are acrylic.

Plastics They are easily electrified; in the open air, microcracks appear in them within 1-2 seasons and hygiene disappears. And since plastics are also low-tech at home, it is better to avoid them altogether in a homemade playground. Perhaps the only place where plastic is appropriate on a playground is a manhole pipe. A plastic barrel works well for it. It’s better to take a white, translucent one so that you don’t get scared, start panicking and get stuck. Glass and other breakable or brittle/delaminating materials (composites, for example) are absolutely unacceptable.

Stone The material is also unsuitable for a playground: if you fall down hard, you can seriously hurt yourself on it. If borders are required on the site, then they need to be laid either soft or homemade wooden, or planted phytoborders from soft hardy plants, for example. sedum (sedum).

Separately, it should be said about ropes. In terms of childhood injuries on playgrounds, the top three are consistently occupied by rope railings/fences, entanglement mazes and climbing nets. Over the first ones, they are overweight, not yet able to correctly assess by eye the stability of the support, fall head over heels and are seriously injured, even breaking their neck. The nets do not leave parents inconsolable, but they cause a lot of fractures and dislocations. Prostitutes do not seriously injure physically, but due to fright and hysteria they can leave an indelible mark on the psyche. Therefore, ropes on the playground are applicable only as hangers for swings, stretchers of awnings and vines - a gymnastic rope with knots.

Note: fabric and non-woven textile products in children's playgrounds are used for awnings and soft fencing. In any case, the fabric should be stretched so that there are no rinsing sides.

Basic and extended equipment

A traditional typical playground minimally consists of a slide and a fungus. The latter are now most often combined in the form of a 2-story playhouse with a balcony, an air passage, an observation deck, a climbing frame and a ladder. This allows you to create a greater variety of entertainment in the same area, see fig. However, it is impossible to create a sandbox on the first floor of the house: the stomping overhead will in no way benefit the development of very young, “sand-age” children. The sandbox must be separate.

So, we get a basic set of a sandbox, a combi house and a swing. He is able to last from the first top to the time when it turns out that girls, in general, are not meant to be pulled by their braids. If possible, the following are added to the mini set:

Free space for quiet games, children's picnics, in winter - for making a snowman, etc.
Decorative elements for the development of aesthetic sense.
Boom, that is. push runner.
Inflatable pool, bathtub, trough or basin for bathing.
A secret refuge corner.
Sports complex.
Playground for sports games.
Mini flowerbed or mini flower garden.
Hut or tent.
Labyrinth.
Children's carousel.

Many other additions are possible, provided there is free space and the imagination of the parents. But they no longer have a decisive significance for the all-round development of the child, so we will limit ourselves to the remark that most of them and some of the above can be quite placed in the gaps between the safety zones of the main structures, see below.

Selecting a location

Ideas regarding the artistic and decorative design of the playground can be anything; Some of the combinations of business and pleasure will be discussed below. There are no regulations/requirements regarding the appearance of structures on the children's playground. However, when selecting a place for it, certain rules of safety and comfort that promote the proper development of children:

The site must be within sight of the most habitable room. In private households this is usually the kitchen;
All structures on the site, including their safety zones, must be within a 45 degree viewing angle. This approximately corresponds to the visibility of the housewife, who is busy at a stove located in accordance with fire safety rules;
If the site borders a passage, incl. internal (your own, yard), between him and her there must be a permanent fence insurmountable for children, regardless of the presence of a fence of a different type;
Reservoirs, wells, utility yards, etc. should also be demarcated. sources of possible danger. In this case, the fence may be light, but necessarily insurmountable for children;
The site should be located in sectors from north to southeast. Otherwise, the youngest in the sandbox and children engaged in active play should be protected from harsh afternoon light;
Whatever the location of the playground, the sun should not blind the eyes of children engaged in active games or sports exercises;
The sandbox is located first in order of distance from the exit to the site. If he is not there, go first from home;
The sandbox should not be located under a tree(s);
The swinging directions of hanging swings and rolling out of the slide should not cross the sandbox. Otherwise, the distance between them should be at least 3 m for swings and not less than the height of the slide;
The same directions should not go to the roadway;
Between the sports complex and the sandbox there must be a playhouse or swing, or other permanent (immovable) structure, or there must be at least a 3 m distance;
Safety zones of capital structures should not overlap.

Note: The safety zone of a children's play structure is assumed to be 1 m by default. The slide-out zone is 1.5 x 1.5 m. The safety zone of a swing is equal in length to 1.5 times the height of its suspension, and in width is at least 1.5 m; carousel - its diameter. The safety zones of sports complexes are indicated in their projects.

Examples of layouts of the basic modules of the playground with different orientations according to the cardinal points are shown in Fig. The house is conventionally designated by a gray circle with a star of directions and half-points. About sports complexes

In Fig. Below are projects of children's sports complexes with a house and a slide (on the left) and only a gymnastic complex of the most compact T-shaped design. From there you can see that less than 30 sq. area is not enough with a standard solution, and the full complex does not leave room for a sandbox. It would seem that home sports in a small area does not shine.

However, it was Russian specialists who developed projects for children's open-air sports complexes based on the conditions of the Russian Federation, namely, the high endowment of middle- and lower-income segments of the population with land plots left over from the USSR. In the West, only a very rich person can afford to have 6 acres outside the city for recreation.

Drawings of one of these children's sports complexes are shown in Fig. below. Material – steel pipe (27-30)x2. Its features are an extremely narrow, but completely justified safety zone, only 0.5 m along the contour. No matter how you play around with this design, its ergonomics are thought out perfectly: even if you hurt yourself, it won’t be too bad, but you won’t hurt the little ones nearby. The second is the correct configuration. This makes it easier to place the complex on the site, as can be clearly seen in Fig. with layout diagrams: a site with opportunities for sports does not “climb out” anywhere for 1 hundred square meters.

About fences and dividers

In addition to a protective fence, in a playground for 2 or more children, it is highly desirable to delimit zones. If the space allows, a labyrinth will provide a lot of fun and useful skills; see below for more information on it. The traditional solution to the issue of dividing zones is a fence, and tires or logs inside the area, also see below. But the fence, albeit very cheerful, as in Fig. just below is a clear prohibition, which is generally not good for children. The strongest and most reliable discipline is a conscious one, understood with one’s own mind. And from the obvious prohibition during the “holiday of disobedience” you can even tear off a board. And climb where you shouldn’t at all, without even realizing what it entails.

When you need to isolate yourself from the roadway, there is no choice, because... The safety of children in this case depends not only on them. But, for example, a pond or utility yard will not enter the site on its own. In this case, if the platform is made of wood, the ideal lightweight protective fence is wattle fence. First of all, it is not difficult to weave, and free material is found almost everywhere in nature. Secondly, a fairly high fence is very difficult to overcome even for an adult well-trained person. Don't believe me? Try to climb over. It is not for nothing that temporary fortifications - fascines - were once made from wattle fence. In the same way, a bull is not capable of breaking a properly made fence, much less a man. Thirdly, the wattle fence itself is an excellent decoration for a suburban area.

But the most important thing is that children do not perceive the fence as a prohibitive sign. Why? And you can peek through it. Just looking at the pond - well, the water lilies there are beautiful, well, a frog climbed onto a leaf and is croaking. And through a crack, stealthily, a fairy-tale world appears, populated in the imagination by amazing creatures. Okay, we don't have one yet. But then, if a gloomy pig or an angry gander turns to the fence from the other side, you can be scared to your heart's content, without really risking anything. Rest assured, children perfectly distinguish toy fear, on the basis of which reasonable caution is developed, from real fear.

About the soil

An almost ideal soil base for a playground is seeded or rolled: it dries quickly enough after rain, brakes well when it rolls and dampens when it flops, and does not overheat in the heat. One “but”: it can turn clothes green because they don’t wash well. Therefore, the soil on the playground is often covered with fine gravel. It drains and brakes even better, but it gets hotter under the sun and can get scratched. The ideal backfill would be small, up to 1.5-2 cm in diameter, well-rounded pebbles. But, alas, this is a very expensive material, and its predatory self-procurement is punishable by law.

Modules and elements

Sandboxes

First, what is a sandbox with an awning, which is necessary when the site is located in sectors from the south to the northwest? See fig. There is no need to make the canvas very large and lower its edges too low: it is enough for the awning to shade the sandbox from the high midday sun. Closer to sunset, if the children are still playing at this time, about half of the box should be shaded so that the little ones themselves can settle down where it is more convenient for them.

The second thing that will be very useful if there are two or more children with a sufficient age difference is a sandbox-truck, or, depending on the inclinations of the older one, a sandbox-ship. In the latter case, the wheelhouse with the navigation bridge is located, like on any decent “transport vehicle,” in the stern. Then the younger ones will go about their sandy affairs without feeling intrusive guardianship, and the older “parent” will be able to fulfill his duties literally playfully, without getting bored. And if he ever takes the wheel or stands at the helm professionally, it has already been deposited at the level of reflexes: the main thing in a flight is passengers and cargo.

Here we will fill in something missing. The first is the slopes of the slides. They are most often bought ready-made, made of plastic. There are basically 3 designs to choose from: straight, spiral, see figure, and pipes.

It is better to ignore the latter: a children's slide is not a water park, water lubricant does not flow through the pipe. Children in tube ramps often get stuck with everything that follows. In terms of the degree of psychological trauma, tube rays are almost on par with prostitutes.

Of the others, if there is very little space for a platform, it is better to take more expensive spiral ones. Their use allows, in a standard design (see above), to abandon the roll-out zone, because it will be to the side, within the general safety zone. And rolling with a screw is more fun and “cooler” than just like that.

However, as stated above, it is best to avoid plastic in the playground. Therefore, for fairly skilled home craftsmen, we give in Fig. on the left is a profile of a children's slide made of sheet metal. The sliding line is highlighted in red, the sides of the trough-shaped chute are highlighted in brown, the straight protective side with a bend outward is highlighted in blue; green - elastic pad on it made of smooth rubber. The latter is necessary to brake with your hands. The width of the ramp gutter is 600-700 mm.

Note: It is unnecessary to remind, but for the sake of the seriousness of the moment, let us recall that the overlaps of the sheets that make up the gutter and sides should be directed down the slope. Otherwise, the overlaps will turn into knives.

Swing

The cradle (seat) of a hanging swing is often made from tires. Then, if the children are boys, it is better to hang the tire vertically, on the left in the figure, so you can “crawl” to your heart’s content. For girls, a swing cradle made from a tire, hung flat, is better suited: here it’s convenient to sit in a circle and gossip like a woman.

The cradles of sports swings, on the right in the figure, are made hard, in the form of a flying trapezoid with rings, and soft. Making rings separately is recommended only for children who are already involved in athletics and have had some success in this: many beginning gymnasts were quite seriously injured trying to make a cross on the rings without sufficient physical training.

If there is enough space, little ones will really like and find the balance swing, inset in Fig. below. If there is not enough space, and the child shows the makings of a dexterous and strong little one, they can be replaced with a spring swing. The diagram of their device is shown in the same figure. The spring is from the shock absorber of a small car or motorcycle, depending on the age and weight of the rider.

About labyrinths

A labyrinth for children's games must satisfy the following conditions:

To be one-dimensional, i.e. from partitions standing on the ground.
The partitions should not be solid or high: older people should see over them and be able to climb over them, and younger ones should see below them and crawl up.
Plant labyrinths are not allowed for children to play; they can get lost in the bushes out of fear and get hurt.

Functional, i.e. Suitable for games, decorative elements of playgrounds are most often made from truck tires. Let's leave aesthetics to the adults. Children are pragmatists, it is important to them that it is elastic, springs well, and does not break if you hit it. Try to use only solid tires: cut tires often have traumatic cord ends sticking out over time. Or regularly check the tire structure and go over the protruding wires with a grinder and a grinding wheel.

A classic product of this kind is the boom runner. It can also be a zone delimiter or a barrier between the sports complex and the sandbox if there is not enough space. So, in all respects it is better to dig tires for it not lengthwise, as is customary, but across, as in pos. 1 pic. at intervals of approx. 30 cm:

We clearly see the gap where there is no need to step.
If your foot slips, it will slip sideways. Anyone who knows about sports physics knows that then the first thing to come into contact with the underlying surface without any grouping skills will be not the face, but the fifth point.
It’s convenient and safe to push: the legs themselves rise to the position of the strongest support, and if the leg slips, then everything is as before. case.
Anyone who is pushed does not fall backwards, risking injuring his back or hitting his head, but to the side, which is safe for children.

For small ones, if there are several different tires, you can simply pile them up, pos. 2. For those who are older and more skilled - an “advanced” climbing frame in addition to the usual one, pos. 3. Pos. 4 is actually a godsend: an old, but real steering wheel, and if you sway, it’s like driving a tractor over potholes.

Pos. 5 – the well-known sun made of tires and bottles is actually not just a decoration. PET bottles are an excellent, stable target for darts, arrows and generally anything thrown. And don't be afraid that children will grow up aggressive. Another idea

The arrangement of the playground is still the same, without going beyond 100 square meters. m and without interfering with anything else there, another thing can be completed. Let’s say you still have a baby bath, but you don’t intend to have any more offspring. The old adult bathtub is too deep, it is better to let it sit. Or there’s a leaky trough lying around in the barn. Or, let’s say, you came across an ad: “Used culinary equipment for sale,” and in it – “Donut pan 1100x650x100.” In general, you need any tub with a length of 80-90 cm, a width of about half as much and a depth of up to 15 cm.

Why do children need this? Let the ships go. For adults, applying patches to construction or aquarium silicone and painting, if it is rusty, is not a difficult task. It won’t take much water, so you can simply change it more often without excessively using disinfectants that are not always safe. If you keep the baby mini-sea in the sun, and throw a couple of grains of potassium permanganate or methylene blue (pharmacy blue) into the water until it turns barely pink or blue, and cover the pond with film at night, a week of uninterrupted navigation in it is guaranteed. Children get a lot of delight and fun from it. There will also be a lot of splashes and wet clothes, but there’s no need to get angry here, or were you not like that yourself?

Houses made of cardboard and fabric in five minutes

If you make a playground with your own hands and are still in the process of construction, then you can whip up a cardboard “dwelling.” Surely almost every family has large boxes for refrigerators, home theaters or washing machines. With a little imagination and some scotch tape in their hands, adults can turn unnecessary trash into a creative house for their children and their neighbors, because playing alone is not always fun.

A children's playground, created with your own hands from scrap materials, can turn into a fairy-tale town if adults try to build houses for the kids, similar to those described by Nikolai Nosov in the book about shorties. Hello! My name is Svetlana, I am the mother of 2.7-year-old Veronica. I would like to show you our small children’s playground (size 6 by 3 meters); in the future I plan to expand it by another 3 meters, as much as the front garden space allows.

First there was an idea. I wanted to create a safe place where I could spend time comfortably with my little mischief-maker, and where my great-grandmothers could calmly babysit my daughter. Last summer I got excited about the idea of a playground, the most important thing for my child is “playing around in the sand,” so the first thing I did was look for a sandbox, found a box 0.5 by 0.5 m, painted it, and placed it in the front garden, but it turned out to be such a size for an older child too small Then the idea arose to sow lawn grass in part of the front garden and decorate the area.

How it was? Autumn 2013. I dug up the ground several times, removed weeds, and prepared the ground. At the beginning of March I sowed the grass, it did not sprout for a long time, and then sprang up in pieces, although I sprinkled the seeds very generously and tamped them down. Then I begged my grandfather for boards for the sandbox, painted it white and... decided that I was a jack of all trades, began knocking down the sandbox with nails - it turned out that I was not a master after all: the sandbox was skewed, it fell apart, so I followed the advice of the wise and used self-tapping screws

My grandfather made us a swing back in the winter, so I was happy to paint it. I dug the pins from the sandbox into the ground, laid black non-woven material inside so that the sand did not mix with the ground, removed part of the lawn and repaired the bald spots on the main part of the site. They put up a swing. I planted flowers along the perimeter of the lawn: bindweed, daisies, lilies, and put geraniums and petunia in pots in the corners. I sewed a cover for the sandbox from waterproof fabric, and a small “blooming” canopy was made from bindweed.

Why white? It's simple - white is a universal color, goes with everyone, easily transforms space! And one more thing - white paint was available at home at the time of creation.

As a result, the playground consists of the following elements:

Probably every parent who spends the summer with their child at the dacha is thinking about creating their own playground. This is how it happened for us. This idea was born when we arrived at the dacha for the first time - at the age of 3 months. We collected ideas and thought through them down to the smallest detail. And a year later, that is, when the baby was 1 year 3 months old, we began to implement our project!

They made everything from materials left over from the construction of a house, bathhouse and other outbuildings. The main builder was my husband (by the way, a newbie in this area), and everyone else (me, my mom and dad) got involved whenever possible. And naturally the most important assistant was my son!

So far on our site there is only a slide and a fence (multi-level stumps), but there are plans..! This year there will definitely be a sandbox and swings on the playground, and the lower part of the slide will turn into a cozy house.

And the next thing... I want a car (or a train/plane), and even my husband, during the creative process, had a dream to build a second such tower with ropes/ladders and other activities... In general, we won’t stop at small things! Everything so that the baby actively develops in the summer :)

Vovushka woke up very early today. The bright sun was shining, birdsong could be heard through the wide-open window, and, despite the early hour, the neighboring boys were already riding their bicycles.

Waking up, Vovushka stretched sweetly. A new day begins, full of adventures and discoveries. The boy hastily washed his face, ate his porridge (daddy’s porridge is the best breakfast in the world!) and got ready for a walk. He paid special attention to the latter, because an exciting walk was ahead on his favorite playground.

Vovushka lives in her own house. Home is a fortress. Large, with many windows and a spacious veranda. In front of the house there is a vegetable garden: carrots, cabbage, potatoes, beets, berries. Arma the dog lives nearby. Arma guards the house and barks at crows and cats all day long.

In addition to a vegetable garden with various fruits and vegetables, there is a playground in front of the house. Vovushka really loves to play here. Especially with dad. Especially when driving a big, big tractor.

This tractor has never been before! He rolled around the swing made by Vovin’s grandfather, around the sandbox, around the pirate ship, who knows how it sailed here. The tractor even floated in the pool (in the hottest weather, the pool is filled with warm water, and if it’s cool outside, you can “swim” in the balls). To make it interesting for a child to be outdoors in the summer, he should create an interesting learning environment. I will show you what we did for our girls (Yaroslava, 2 years old, and Radmila, 4.5 years old).
At our dacha we have done a lot of interesting things for our daughters, naturally all with our own hands.

Play gazebo

Initially we wanted to build a tree house, then just some kind of climbing frame. We went through a bunch of options and eventually came up with the idea of making a structure like this.

We made a two-story gazebo with an observation deck at the top. On one side there is a climbing wall and a slide, successfully tested by one-year-old Yaroslava that year. On the other hand, for now there are just intersecting bars for climbing; later we plan to hang a climbing net here.

On the front side there are stairs to the second floor. This year the top of the stairs is covered with fabric. As a result, two-year-old Yasya does not climb up without supervision, but almost five-year-old Rada climbs up and down calmly. Even in front we constantly hang a swing or a trapeze (at the request of our daughters). On the back side there are just bars that the girls climb on.

Inside the gazebo, on the ground floor, there is a comfortable bench, which, at the request of the girls, turns into a table for playing with sand. This year we placed a low wooden table inside. I also made a kitchenette for the girls from an old bedside table: I attached disks on top - burners, on the front there were lids from cans - gas switches, on the side there were hooks for towels and ladle spoons, on the outer door there was an oven door and a fire, inside there was a shelf on which young housewives put their ovens. pies made in the sandbox.

Inside the gazebo we hang a large hammock, in which our daughters love to swing.

This year we plan to finalize the gazebo and complete the second floor (install doors for security purposes).

Sandbox

The sandbox is the most common one, with a roof. A wicker wall was installed on the side of the sandbox to prevent air from blowing in from the direction of the gate. We often place a homemade table inside the sandbox.

Other elements of the playground

At the dacha there is also a control panel, a portable slide, and in hot weather we set up a pool near the gazebo. There are wheels dug in around the playground, from which it is simply wonderful to jump into the sand poured around the playground. There is another swing hanging on the adult veranda. There is also a table for games and a rug to make it comfortable to sit and play. There is also a large plastic box with a lid in which toys are stored. At the dacha, the girls have their own brooms, shovels, rakes and watering cans. Everything little helpers need.

We are planning to make this year: a board for drawing with chalk, a bench-type car with a steering wheel, and a ring for throwing balls.

A lot was done with our own hands on the playground in Rada’s kindergarten. My other parents and I made this playground completely from scratch. I’ll show you some elements: a car and bees, piglets and ring throwers, and also butterflies and a matryoshka made from wheels.

We live in a private house near Riga. The children do not go to kindergarten, only the eldest has entered 2nd grade. We spend a lot of time in the yard and, of course, we try to make sure that the children have something to play with. We have a purchased swing, a house, and a sandbox. And besides sports, I also want to))) For this, I chose a circle made of chipboard, which my husband brought for firewood. I painted it green on one side and divided it into 9 parts, and black on the other. The edge was covered with rope. And now on such a table we play “Pine Cones”, or “What is missing in an empty cell”, we solve problems with 9 screens (system, subsystem, supersystem, etc.), and on the black side you can write words, problems with chalk or just drawing. Or you can lay out something from leaves, pebbles or shells, and draw with sand.

There are also tires buried in the ground - these are both a “motorcycle” and a “horse”, but you can simply jump from them.
We draw and play a lot on the asphalt, and create obstacle courses from scrap materials. As you can see, everything is simple, but done with imagination and love for children)))

DIY playground No. 8 from Maria Fedorova, Miass

Garden for Daisy

In October 2011 we moved to a new old apartment building. New - for our family. The old one is for me personally. This is my childhood home. In this yard I painted hopscotch, made acacia pickles, skinned my knees, jumped in rubber bands with my friends, hid secrets under pieces of glass... And I also watched how the flowers grew in the flower beds under the windows of my grandparents’ apartment.

All their lives in this house they grew flowers outside. Grandfather showed me: these are cosmos, and these are cornflowers. Taught me how to collect seeds. I glued “containers” for seeds from matchboxes... Returning to this house, to this yard, I simply could not do otherwise: as soon as the snow melted, I picked up a rake and went out into the front garden. And it was already impossible to stop me.

Just planting flowers was not enough for me. Near a picturesque, but very old lamppost, under conifers planted again by the hands of our ancestors, I created a flowerbed with a children's corner.

From waste material I made a small composition:

In general, our clothes dryer is hidden behind this larch and fir tree. Yes, yes, in the 21st century, some people still prefer to dry their laundry in a fresh breeze. For Rita, I also pulled a string at a height accessible to her, where she hangs her socks and handkerchiefs and attaches them with clothespins, just like mom! (In the photo you can barely see the rope right behind the girl)

I planted daisies next to this composition. With what tenderness my Margarita looks after them!

The main advantage of our mini-town is that it is located right under the windows (our apartment is on the 1st floor). I can let my child go outside with my grandmother (who is already in her ninth decade), and from the kitchen window I can watch how my great-grandmother and great-granddaughter get along. On the other hand, in my spare 10 minutes I can go out and paint some boards and weed a flower bed. Slowly but surely, things are moving forward. This project has spanned more than one year, it grows and changes along with my little girl.

One year we did a mini health track. I collected old bricks from the area, laid them out in a row, and Rita whitewashed them herself. Next, I laid 3 trimmings from tires (the tires themselves became flower beds) and poured in various fillers: sand, pebbles and just grass.

All this was located on the border between the clearing under the common drying area and the central flowerbed. I am trimming the clearing, trying to imitate a lawn))). Of course, my flower girl helps me care for the flowers in the “central” flowerbed, and for all the flowers in general. Previously, they carried watering cans, but now they have connected a hose that extends directly from the window.

Our children's area is also distinguished by its mobility. There are small benches here, put together by my grandfather’s hands for his various crafts. The baby can easily take this bench himself and put it where he likes.

There are simple stools for adults. Some grandmother from a neighboring yard passing through our yard will sometimes sit down on a stool for a couple of minutes and move on. (In the photo below are great-granddaughter and great-grandmother)

Unlike garden plots, we have asphalt here where you can draw with crayons. If you’re tired of painting on the asphalt, you can take out the easel and paint portraits of sunbeams.

We take the trampoline out onto the lawn, which, by the way, is used not only for its intended purpose, but also as a chair, as a table, and as a lounger)))

In hot weather, a mandatory attribute of our corner is a basin of water.

On our site you can find opportunities for interesting activities all year round. In the fall, see how the larch has turned yellow, or discover the first ice in a forgotten bucket. In winter, clean the path, build a snowman in place of the lawn, decorate the Christmas tree for the New Year, hang bird feeders. In the spring, watch the snow melt and organize a cleanup day.

In the summer - paint at the table, without being afraid to spill everything around, or even celebrate your birthday!

Of course, there is also a weak point in our corner - we live in the city center, and even if the yard is not the most accessible, there are still a lot of crooks here. This year the corner with the house is no longer alive; we still have to reincarnate it. The vandal defeats make us very sad, but they don’t stop us.

We plan to make a birdbath, add some outdoor equipment, and whatnot. This is a great place to receive guests in the summer. This is what we are going to do next Saturday - for the second time, we will have a children's birthday party here, in the fresh air in the lap of nature and at the same time 2 steps from the house.

DIY playground No. 9 from Marina Sigaeva

My name is Marina. My son's name is Igorek, on August 2 he will be 2 years old. In addition, I was entrusted with my niece and goddaughter Tanya (4.5 years old) for the summer. These are our happy players)

And the children's playground, photos of which I willingly share, appeared only 2 months ago. All photos are “live”, nothing was specially embellished, nothing was cleaned up, everything is as is.
We call it nothing other than “A Million Children’s Delights”!!!

Judge for yourself. We were limited in funds and space, but we wanted everything for the children at once. In addition, the age of children coming to the dacha ranges from one to 7 years. And everyone should be passionate! And the task was ambitious - “Make sure that children simply live on the street!”

Every detail was selected with pain, we even went to the plant in Dmitrov. And that's what we got! Swings, trampoline, slide, hammock, giant construction set, climbing frame, basketball, sandbox, water area with a pool and Montessori water games, sandbox, benches in the shade for adults, playhouses and even a “green” puppet theater!

On site we conduct:

/sports tales (with ropes, hoops, balls, nets, punching bags, etc.)
(sand, buckets of water, pebbles and other dacha joys)
We develop thinking and imagination (we build from a construction set a house, a car, a table and chairs - whatever your heart desires)
We dramatize fairy tales + finger theater on stage (see photo), and just play!

Let me tell you right away that we spent about 45 thousand rubles. This is a lot. But when you compare what manufacturers of ready-made solutions offer for this money and what we did for our children, the difference will be obvious. We made it entirely with our own hands (it took about a week) - a sandbox, hemp chairs, a bench. We leveled the area, concreted it and laid out a puzzle covering, delivered and assembled the slide, trampoline, climbing frame, and varnished all the wooden elements.

I would like to tell you a lot of details, but I won’t drag it out. The main find is - don’t buy a ready-made house! They will never get tired of the house that children build themselves from construction sets!!! Don't consider it an advertisement. I'm just a fan and I recommend it to everyone.

Many ideas will be implemented later. There are many options with old tires and logs. Functionally, the site turned out to be much more advanced than visually. But it won’t rust behind us, we’ll decorate it!

And we have already achieved our main goal. The children even eat on the table they built and sleep in a hammock =) So from morning to evening we are outside getting healthier and enjoying life!

DIY playground No. 10 from Albina, Yaroslavl

My name is Albina, my daughter is Katerinka, she is 1 year 7 months old. We are from Yaroslavl, a small children’s playground was “created” at our dacha this summer, so we decided to take part in the competition. They decided to place the site behind the bathhouse, because the bathhouse is protected from the wind and in the afternoon, just when the sun is at its hottest, shade forms there.

So the first participant in the creation of the site emerged - our grandfather, who built the bathhouse :). The beds begin behind the bathhouse, it’s very convenient: I’m in the beds, Katerina is playing on the playground - we both see each other, both are calm :). The next participant in the creation of the site is our grandmother. She made the biggest sacrifice - she had to move two whole of her flower beds from this place :) In addition to her grandparents, our dad and I, of course, had a hand and head in creating the site:)

Now let's get serious ;)

What we have on the playground: there is a sandbox, there is a swing and rings, there are stump walkers. There is also a climbing frame and a slide, but this is no longer our doing :)

Sandbox

This is a huge wheel from some kind of truck (I’m even afraid to imagine its size, looking only at the wheel). Grandfather got it somewhere. Our dad diligently carried sand into the sandbox, and mom (that is, me :)) painted it.

Swings and rings

The swing and rings hang on a piece of iron, which once was a stand for some spare parts in my grandfather’s store. Grandfather prudently did not throw her away and now she has found a second life. Dad dug it in securely, hung swings and rings, and I painted it with small flowers to make it look more fun.

Hemp

The stumps: “walkers - climbing frames - jumping ropes - climbing frames” were picked up, treated with some kind of disinfectants and dug in by dad, painted, as usual, by me. They were lying in our old woodpile, we got them from the previous owners. The stumps are dug in at different heights, but the difference between neighboring stumps is not very large, they gave Katya a discount for her age :) An improvised table and two chairs were also made from stumps.

Total our costly team:

grandfather - supplier;
grandmother is a landscape designer who was forced to make room;
dad is a builder, designer, the main driving force;
Mom, that is, I am a painter - decorator, ideological inspirer and so, give orders;)
Katerina is a happy owner.

What Katya does on the set:

: we bake Easter cakes, stand castles, cook shortbread porridge.
The swings and rings also serve their purpose, I really like them.
Stumps are walkers: we walk on them, jump on them, climb over them, sit on them. Toys sit on them and end up here.
Easter cakes from the sandbox, we have fun sweeping up the stumps, pouring water on them, and rolling balls and cars on them.
Katya doesn’t perceive the table and chairs as furniture; she jumps all over them like she does on other stumps.

In addition to Katya, moles have taken a fancy to the playground and create mini-sandboxes for us. Katya loves to dig in their earthen mounds; the soil there is so crumbly, steeper than sand. Well done moles, they are trying :)

This is the kind of playground we have. I still have a lot of ideas, I hope to implement something else this summer, as long as supplies and labor don’t let me down :)

DIY playground No. 11 from Natalia Mylnikova

The real decoration of our dacha is my mother. She brings beauty there.

Dad made two swings for the children himself. I assembled one simply from sticks and boards and Soviet abacus, and the others - I sawed out horses and made swings and scales. The horses in the photo turned out whitish. They are actually more brightly colored.

The only thing we don’t have at our dacha is a sandbox. It is not needed there, because our soil is sandy and you can play with sand anywhere.

The workbench actually stands a little to the side, under a canopy, but for the sake of beauty I photographed it here.
The boy loves to call his work phone, buzz with a drill, twist, hammer...
There are also crayons, paints and (attention, I’m sharing a secret!) an album with wallpaper samples.
We were given these outdated catalogs from last year in December at a local hardware store.
Their sheets are made of durable non-woven fabric, and the theme is children's.
We’ve been making crafts for six months now, drawing on them, and there’s no end in sight to the album!

DIY playground No. 13 from Olga Kazunetkina, St. Petersburg

Our “platform” is divided into 2 parts:

Street: , rocking horse and slide.
Attic: swing, gymnastics rings, hanging shuttlecock (to hit it with a racket) and a toy rocket house with balls.

This, in my opinion, is the optimal solution - to divide the site into a “street-house”, because the weather in St. Petersburg is not particularly pleasing to us. We spend a lot of time in the attic.

On the one hand, I would, of course, like to do something on a larger scale with my own hands (I’ve seen good examples), but, on the other hand, we already have enough, and then we have a reason to run through the neighboring dachas, look at their sites and get to know each other with children, and our dacha is located in a village where there are several municipal sites. So Dimka has an incentive to walk there.

The playground has everything you need for children's games, but the veranda has not been updated for a very long time. I love to draw and, in my opinion, I’m a little good at it, so I suggested not just painting the veranda, but drawing something. Remembering what the children studied during the school year, I decided to draw. It turned out to be two in one: bright pictures and a guide to consolidate the material covered.

In one kindergarten, there lived a small playground and it had a nondescript, sad veranda. She was so sad that the children playing nearby also began to feel sad. And there was a sad veranda, because a long time ago a sorceress bewitched it green.

She decided that all the verandas in her garden would be only green. And then one day, when the summer holidays arrived, not indifferent parents came to the playground. They waved the magic brush once, winter appeared, waved it a second time - spring, the third time - summer, the fourth time autumn appeared. Thus, on the playground, a veranda with the seasons appeared, bright, light and cheerful.

Now our veranda decorates the playground, and gives children smiles and a good mood. And anyone who passes by must stop and look at our veranda. And the sorceress ordered the other verandas to be bewitched too.

DIY playground No. 15 from Svetlana Bardina, Saransk

Hello! My name is Svetlana. My husband Oleg and I decided to take part in a competition for homemade playgrounds. After all, when the competition was announced, the construction of our site was in full swing.
We have three wonderful children: Roman, 14 years old, Lev, 5 years old, and Maria, she recently turned one year old. We live in Saransk. Our site is located in a small country village.

My idea of organizing a playground for my daughter’s birthday was happily supported by my husband and sons. Initially, we wanted to purchase a ready-made mini-site, but then our dad decided to do everything with his own hands. “What is done with love and warmth is always better,” he said. “Especially since I have such wonderful assistants,” he added, meaning Roma and Leva.

And the work did not take long to arrive. My husband designed the structure, purchased boards and timber, and our men began construction. We worked every evening: sawing, sanding, assembling, painting. And besides, it was necessary to prepare the site in advance: level it, dig it up, sow grass, and then weed it out.

We finished it in a month, just in time for July 5th, Mashenka’s birthday. There were a lot of children, the older kids loved the big slide and the basketball hoop, the kids played in the sandbox, rode on the swings, splashed in the pool, and then fell asleep in the hammock.

There is a lot of greenery around the children's area, apple trees, birch trees, and linden trees. All this creates useful shade, and you don’t have to be afraid that the children will “burn” in the sun.
Now every day children from all over the village come to play with us. We are very happy about this.
Of course, there is still a lot to be done on our playground: paint the house inside, decorate the outside, make a small slide for kids, make a table with a bench for children and much more, as much as your imagination allows. But the main thing is that a start has already been made, and there is a great desire to continue this magnificent undertaking.
The most wonderful thing is that this big cause unites our family, makes it stronger, more friendly and stronger.

At first I was going to independently determine the first place, but when I saw the voting results, I was pleasantly surprised - this time my opinion coincided with the opinion of the majority.
