Homemade device for tattoos (tattoo machine).

To make an original tattoo on your body, it is not necessary to purchase a tattoo machine or contact a master for big money. Such a device as a tattoo machine can be made by hand.

You need

  • Motor holder and power supply (you can use a metal clip from the handle as a holder).
  • The gel pen.
  • Guitar string (the thinnest).
  • The wire.
  • A motor with a plastic roller (you can take it from the player).

Instruction

  1. Unwind gel pen and remove the paint from it. Using a needle, “pick out” a ball from a metal rod. File off the tip so that the string fits in and can move freely back and forth.
  2. Cut the pen tube in half for ease of use and string savings. Cut off the tube that had the paint, leaving a piece the size of the floor of the previous tube. This is done to limit the vibration of the string during operation.
  3. To attach a motor to the tube, you need to take a metal holder from the handle and attach it to the motor with a sketch. With a red-hot needle to match the size of the string, make a small hole in the roller of the motor (just do it not in the center).
  4. Measure the required string length. Pull it with pliers, and then heat it with a lighter in the place where the future sharp tip should be. When it starts to heat up, it will become thinner and burst. Sharpen the string with a knife sharpening stone. Insert the string so that the tip protrudes 4 millimeters from the rod, and bend the other end of the string with the letter G and insert it into the hole in the roller. Twist the wires with the micromotor wires and connect to the power supply.

At home, make a tattoo machine yourself, if you have all necessary components can be done in 15-25 minutes. Before you start working with it, you should adjust it so that the string is taut, and does not beat anywhere. You should also take a power supply with power regulation in order to increase or decrease the speed of the tool.

Tattooing in our time is one of the personal and creative forms of self-expression. Samuel Riley can be considered the author of the modern tattoo machine - it was he who created its prototype and brought the art of tattooing to new level. We suggest that you read the article and try to make a tattoo machine yourself.

Finding the Parts You Need

First of all, we need an electric motor rated for a voltage of at least 12 volts (preferably 18 volts). Usually a small gear is mounted on the motor shaft. Take a small button with four holes and glue it to the gear with super glue. Be careful not to seal the holes in the button, they must be left open to secure the needle. Set the motor with the glued button aside to allow the glue to dry.

You can try to use a motor from a VCR or a toy car, but usually they are designed for a voltage of 3~5 Volts, which will not be enough for a homemade tattoo machine.

Choose the right pen or pencil

It will perform two functions at the same time:

  • serve as a body for a tattoo machine;
  • the rod inside the handle will guide the needle.

For these purposes, an ordinary mechanical pencil is excellent, regardless of whether it is plastic or metal.

You can use a regular Bic type ballpoint pen. Blow out the rod from the paste, remove the ball and, if necessary, widen the hole a little so that the needle passes freely through it.

Bracket

With its help, the motor will be attached to the ballpoint pen. You can make it, for example, from a teaspoon. You need to break off the part of the spoon that you eat. We bend the remaining handle in the form of the letter "G".

You can also use a toothbrush for this. Use a lighter to heat up plastic handle and bend it. You need to keep the brush bent until the plastic cools and hardens.

Needle for tattoo machine

A metal guitar string will be used as a needle for a homemade tattoo machine. Cut off a piece of string so that it is a couple of centimeters longer than the length of the previously made tube.

The needle should reach from the center of the motor to the tip of the tube after assembly (see the following photos).

For disinfection - boil the needle for ten minutes. You can prepare several needles ahead of time. In this case, you need to store them in a sterile jar.

Let's start assembling a tattoo machine

Connect the ballpoint pen and bracket together.

The photo shows how to position the bracket - with the long part along the handle, while the end of the ballpoint pen and the fold should be at the same level. Secure the pieces together with electrical tape. The connection must be strong to prevent swaying and loosening.

Fasten the motor with the button glued to it in the same way.

Pass a guitar string through a ballpoint pen. After that, bend its end in the form of the letter "P" and insert it into one of the holes in the button. By rotating the motor, you will see that the needle of the tattoo machine moves up and down. Trim off excess needle length if necessary.

Connect the power supply.

You can use any charger that is rated for at least a voltage lower than the electric motor you are using. For greater convenience, you can install a switch or button.

After you have finished working with the tattoo machine, throw away the needle and tube (pencil or pen).

Do not, under any circumstances, reuse them! Failure to comply with these rules threatens the possibility of contracting diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.

In our time, tattoos have moved into some form of self-expression. This now popular art form allows you to decorate your body with a wide variety of patterns. Fans of drawing can make money on this by tattooing other people. Suitable for getting started homemade machine. We invite you to read this article and find out how make a tattoo machine.

Search for car parts

First, find an 18 volt electric motor, or, if you don’t find one, 12. According to the standard, a small gear is mounted on the end of the motor. Take any button and attach it with super glue to the gear. It must be remembered that 4 holes on the gear should then fix the needle, so the main thing is not to seal these same holes. Give the glue some time to dry.

Motors are easiest to get from toy car or a VCR, but I do not advise you to do this. they usually have only 2-5 volts, which is not enough for a tattoo machine.

Pencil/pen for case and more

A pencil or pen will serve as the body of the machine, and its rod will guide the needle.

Any mechanical pencil will work fine for us. Ball pen it will do just as well, but you still need to work with it: get the ball, blow through all the paste and, if the hole is too small for the needle, expand it.

Bracket

The motor must be attached to a pen or pencil with a bracket. Such a bracket can be made from an ordinary teaspoon by tearing off the part that is eaten and bending the handle with the letter “G”.

Needle

As a needle for our homemade tattoo machine, a metal guitar string is suitable. Cut a piece of string so that it is slightly larger than the previously made tube.

Assembling a homemade tattoo machine

Connect the bracket to the ballpoint pen.

The bracket, as seen in the photo, is placed with the long part along the handle. Secure this design with electrical tape. The fastening should be as strong as possible.

Fasten the motor with the button in the same way.

Pull the string through the pen/pencil. Bend at the end of it with the letter "P" and insert the buttons into the hole.

Connect the finished machine to the power supply.

Use any source as power supply, the voltage of which is not lower than that of the motor used.

Greetings, dear readers of my blog, from the title it is immediately clear what this blog is aimed at and now I want to write detailed instructions About, how to make a homemade rotary tattoo machine.

I don’t want to write a big preface, but I read all the available manuals for creating my own wheelbarrow from improvised materials and, alas, they disappointed me, I think that the instructions should be more understandable for a beginner, so I decided to write it myself, let's go ...

First, let's think about what we need:
1. Motor for ~ 9V.
2. Pen.
3. Collar.
4. String.
5. Charging from an old phone.
6. Corner.

Let's analyze everything in order:
1. The motor may not necessarily be 9V, but this is the most best option. The motor can be bought at the radio market, for example, I got it from an old tape recorder.

2. The handle is the most important element our machine, it must meet certain requirements. I have tried many types of pens in order to creating a rotary tattoo machine and finally found the best option. The pen must be necessarily capillary, now a little more...

This is how a capillary pen looks like, as you noticed it has a metal tip through which the string passes perfectly, which means that this is what we need! The price of such a "tool" is not as high as it might seem to you, for example, I bought such a pen for 32 rubles.

3. I bought the clamp to fit the size of my motor with a small margin, as far as I remember the size of my clamp is 15x20mm, it cost me 15 rubles, pennies to put it simply :)

4. The string is also not an unimportant attribute of our car. Before that, I bought the wrong strings and nothing worked out for me, because. I took the strings in the form of a spring, but you need to buy a string "two"! It is thin and comes in the form of a homogeneous, metal wire.

5. I found the charger in the deposits of my trash, but even if you don’t have an old charger at home, you can easily buy it within 50-100 rubles on a local internet forum.

6. It is not even necessary to buy a corner, it is quite possible to find a thin metal plate and make a corner of the desired size out of it.

Now I will finally write about how to assemble our miracle unit:

1. We need to completely disassemble our handle:

2. Then make a corner, I made it from construction fasteners, cutting it out like this:

This is how the plate turned out:

3. We bend our plate and fasten it to the handle on electrical tape:

4. We pass the string through the body of the handle and cut it off with a margin, I cut it with scissors for metal, it's probably better to use wire cutters...

5. Now we need to convert the rotational movement of our motor into the translational movement of the string, for this we melt with a heated needle in the plastic tip of the motor a hole into which we insert the string, something like this:

6. We fix the motor to the corner on the clamp, like this:

We bend the edge of the string 90 degrees and insert it into the previously melted hole.

7. On the opposite side of the motor, the string should come out through a metal insert:

8. Then I soldered the contacts from the charger to the motor, don't be afraid to confuse "+" and "-" - this is not important!

Then I tightened the bare wires with heat shrink tubes, if you don’t have such tubes on hand, then you can use ordinary electrical tape ...

9. Cut the string to the desired length. I took the string to the farthest point of the lunge and cut almost all:

10. That's basically all, it remains only to sharpen! I recommend using mom's nail file :). Calculate the maximum cost of assembling such a machine ...

1. Motor - 100 rubles.

2. Pen - 35 rubles.

3. Collar - 15 rubles.

4. String - 30 rubles.

5. Charging - 100 rubles.

6. Corner - 10 rubles.

Total 290 rubles.

I will be glad to your comments, I will answer all questions, all pis!

The concept of "tattoo" appeared at the beginning of the last century, and they began to make them long before that. It has now become an art. People paint their body, turning it into a canvas. They treat it differently: someone likes it, and someone does not. Some of us dream of getting a tattoo, but do not have the opportunity to go to a tattoo parlor due to its absence, or for some other reason. And then the question arises: "How to make a tattoo machine yourself?" In this article you will find tips for its manufacture.

DIY tattoo machine

In terms of quality, of course, it will be much inferior to the factory one, but nevertheless, you can do without the services of a tattoo parlor. So, how to make a tattoo machine and what is needed for this? And you need simple tools that can be found in any home: a gel pen, a guitar string, a motor from a toy or an old tape recorder and a power supply (quite fit from mobile phone). The paste is removed from the pen, its tip is removed. With a regular needle, remove the ball from the tip (by normal pressure). After that, we remove the remaining gel from the paste (by blowing) and proceed to the second stage. An ordinary guitar string is used as a needle, which only needs to be sharpened. To do this, you need a solution made from water and two teaspoons of table salt, a nail (rod) and a nine-volt power supply. A negative wire is screwed to the rod, and a positive wire to the string. But it is worth remembering that the string must not be completely immersed in the solution, but a maximum of three millimeters, and at the same time it should not come into contact with the rod. After fifteen minutes of chemical reaction, the string is ready for use. Before you make a tattoo machine yourself, you need to prepare its body. To do this, you need to take an already prepared motor and attach an L-shaped holder made of sheet steel or a bent nail to it, in a word, whatever comes to hand. Put a cut out circle (from a wine bottle cork) on the motor shaft, which will be responsible for the movement of the needle. After that, it is necessary to attach the assembled handle to the holder with an insulating tape, having previously adjusted the exit of the needle from the handle. But at the same time, fix it on the mug, bend and stick the needle. Further adjustment is made by moving the handle on the holder. It remains only to attach the wires to the power supply, and you're done. You can use gel as a paint, but it's better to spend money and buy real paints: they hold better. So you got the answer to the question of how to make a tattoo machine with your own hands. The matter remains for a small one - to pick up a drawing and apply a tattoo!

DIY induction machine

The option considered above involves the manufacture of a rotary machine, but there is also an induction machine. It differs in the way it works. It can also be made at home, but you will need iron skills. Only the body is made, and the rest of the details: induction coil, needles, mouthpieces, must be purchased at the store. I hope this article answered the question: "How to make a tattoo machine?"
