To build a gazebo is not as easy as it seems. Do-it-yourself gazebo from a tree. We build a gazebo at the cottage with our own hands.

The gazebo is an integral part of many suburban and suburban areas, as it is perfect for a comfortable pastime in nature. It is included in most landscape projects, and today consumers are presented with a huge selection of forms and models of this building. However, the most original designs are obtained with independent work. How to build a gazebo with your own hands without spending a lot of time and effort, we will talk in this article.

Choosing a place and type of gazebo

Before starting construction, it is necessary to study the landscape of the site and select the most suitable place for the future structure. It is better to choose a quiet and cool place, possibly near any reservoir.

Then you need to determine the type and type of arbor. Decide for yourself what period you need the construction for. If rest on the site is planned exclusively in the summer, then in this case, a temporary structure suitable for dismantling during the cold weather will do. If outdoor recreation is expected throughout the year, then it is advisable to erect a solid structure that is not afraid of temperature changes.

The material for the future design can serve:

  • wood;
  • reinforced concrete;
  • brick and foam blocks;
  • metal constructions.

Of course, wood is best suited for self-construction. This is an affordable and inexpensive material that does not require special skills.

Foundation

As with the construction of most structures, a base is needed for the gazebo. Since the structure is quite light, a tape or screw foundation is perfect for it. If the soil is complex, then you have to make a monolithic base.

Prior to the start of work, preliminary preparation of the site for construction should be carried out. It is necessary to remove all large debris and vegetation, including tall grass. The top soil layer is also removed to a depth of about 10 cm.

The strip foundation is more suitable for light, firm soils. The manufacture of a strip foundation consists of digging a trench up to 1.5 meters deep around the perimeter of a future structure, installing formwork and pouring concrete mixture with reinforcing it with reinforcement.

A screw pile foundation is easier to make. It is more suitable for clayey, mobile soils. In this case, it is enough to drill screw iron piles at the required points as supports. Of course, to begin with, preliminary calculations will be required.

Piles will continue to serve as the basis for the future sex. They are tied with a bar with a section of 50x100 mm.

Floor

It is recommended that the floors in the gazebo be made of edged boards 100x30 mm soaked in a special solution that protects against moisture. The final step in installing the floor will be varnishing the surface. At the location of the fireplace or barbecue, the board must be protected with stainless steel sheets or tiled with a stone. For ease of use of the gazebo, steps are mounted that smooth the difference in the height of the floor relative to the ground.

Walls

After the foundation and floors are ready, proceed to the construction of walls and partitions. If the construction is carried out from wood and timber, then the wood must be treated with means of protection against moisture and fungal infections. This will significantly extend the life of the building.

Masonry half a brick thick or brick is made according to the usual scheme. From the inside, you may have to cover it with paint to give a more noble appearance. For this, coatings intended for facade work are used. Alternatively, you can sheathe the walls with slats or beams.

Roof

One of the main stages of construction is the construction of the roof. For a light structure, a roof with two or four slopes is most suitable, thanks to which all precipitation will slide down and not linger on the structure. This will allow the roof to last a little longer. Dirt will also not linger on it.

For the manufacture of a gable roof, it is necessary to erect 4 rafters from each side of the building, which at the highest point will be connected by a beam. Between themselves and to the strapping beam, they are additionally attached with rails.

In the case of a four-pitched roof, the rafters are installed in four corners, additional beams are mounted in the middle of each side.

Sheets of plywood are laid on the rafters, then bituminous tiles are laid on them. The skate is made out of a corner made of tin or parts of tiles. Outflow drains are mounted along the roof contour, along which melt and rain water will flow freely.

Additional work

After the gazebo has acquired its final form, they proceed to the interior decoration and filling it with pieces of furniture.

Note! If a source of light is needed in the gazebo, then open wiring is laid from the house using corrugations and ceramic mounts.

The gazebo, made by yourself, will delight the whole family and friends over the years, making outdoor recreation convenient and comfortable.

Increasingly, owners of private houses decide to build a gazebo on the site - it is not the presence of such an extension near the house that is surprising, but its absence. They can take various forms, erected from traditional or most unusual materials. To achieve harmony on the site, the gazebo is performed in the same style with the rest of the buildings. Having set the dining table inside, it will be possible to arrange family dinners in the fresh air. In closed gazebos equipped with a stove, it will be comfortable even in the cold season.

How to choose a suitable place

The land intended for construction must be flat and not swampy. The tuberous area must first be leveled, cleaned of debris, stones, stumps and large roots. If groundwater passes too close to the surface of the site, then the structure will not be stable and safe.

The place for the gazebo should be selected in accordance with its purpose.

    If you plan to throw noisy parties for a large number of guests, then it is advisable to remove the building from the apartment building. Then elderly parents and children will be able to relax in silence.

    Spacious pavilions are chosen by the owners of large plots. Small structures for two or three people harmoniously fit into the thick of the garden.

    In small areas, small architectural forms are erected close to the house so that its walls protect the gazebo from the wind.

    When placing the building in an open area, it will be necessary to plan a convenient approach, a fence for protection from wind and rainfall.

Given that the gazebo is designed for relaxation, provide a beautiful view from it of a flowerbed, garden or lake.

What materials can you build a gazebo from

A wide selection of building materials allows you to choose the right option for any budget and building style. Conventionally, all materials can be divided into 2 groups: traditional and unusual. The first include:

    Stone, brick. Building a gazebo made of brick or stone will be expensive, but such a structure will be reliable, durable. Materials are not subject to the negative effects of precipitation, pests. Finishing brick and stone are sold in various colors, the strength of the structure allows the roof to be mounted even from heavy natural tiles.

    Wood in various forms: boards, lining, euro pallets, OSB boards. The basis of the design will be a bar or poles with a diameter of at least 10 cm or a round, square metal profile. Such a gazebo can be built quickly and at an affordable cost.

    Constructions from forged metaltend to have an exclusive design, are durable and costly. For budget options, a painted professional sheet is suitable.

The unusual materials from which you can build a gazebo include everything that is enough for imagination:

    The bottle made of glass or plastic. The design is being built on the foundation, a metal profile is used as the frame. Plastic bottles are fixed on rods, glass bottles on cement mortar. Laid out in a certain way, they create walls with high noise and heat insulation. The building will have an unusual design, will realize your creativity.

    Cement mortar. For construction, the current technology of monolithic construction will be used. The roof and decorative inserts are made of plexiglass, cellular polycarbonate. Such a design will harmoniously look in an architectural ensemble of high-tech or minimalism style.

    Living plants from your garden. As a frame, a structure is created from wooden or metal supports that are braided by climbing plants. The construction cost is the lowest, but it takes a lot of effort to care for flowers.

    Vine, reed. Wicker arbors will fit into any landscape, they look especially advantageous near ponds. The hollow stem of plants will provide an optimal microclimate inside the structure.

When choosing the right material, it is worth considering what season it is planned to relax in the gazebo.

How to determine the appropriate size and shape for the building

If the shape of the gazebo is selected based on the personal preferences of the owner, then its dimensions should be determined taking into account the area standards. For buildings intended for recreation, 2 square meters is considered the norm. m. area per person. Accordingly, if events are planned for 8-10 guests, then the internal space should be about 20 square meters. Of course, such a company will fit in a smaller gazebo with the complete installation of benches, but then the guests will be cramped.

The minimum size of rectangular arbors for family dinners is 2x2 m. If a round shape is chosen for the arbor, then its diameter should be at least three meters. The most common arbors with dimensions of 3x4 m, 4x4 m, 4x4 m.

Arbor adjacent to the house

After determining the required area, you need to choose the shape of the future building. Consider the most common options and their features.

Rectangular shape

Building a gazebo in a rectangular shape is the easiest option. They are often chosen when planning independent construction. Such designs easily fit into any architectural style. They repeat the outlines of other buildings, so the ensemble looks harmonious. It is convenient to operate such arbors, it is easy to install a large table, stove, barbecue in them.

Rectangular designs can be created from any materials and their combinations. Closed buildings made of brick, wood can be operated year-round. Rectangular structures can be both the minimum size (2x2 m) and maximum (6x6 m). If a large object is planned, then it is better to erect it behind a residential building so as not to block the house.

The disadvantages of rectangular structures include the simplicity of their appearance. If the walls are not decorated, then the gazebo may get lost against the background of other buildings. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully consider its external design.

Round form

Rounded buildings require careful material selection. It is difficult to build a round arbor from the most popular tree. When building in the antique style with columns, cement mortar and forged elements are used for the construction of the gazebo. Openwork open wrought iron arbors emphasize the sophisticated taste of the owners, but are very expensive.

A semicircular arbor with open-type columns in oriental style has become popular today. They are called rotundas, erected near ponds. Round structures are spacious, the absence of sharp corners in them creates the most harmonious appearance.

Multifaceted form

Structures with 6–8 angles combine the main advantages of round and rectangular structures.

    Occupying a small area, they are distinguished by good roominess.

    The multifaceted design is characterized by increased stability and strength, which is important in regions with strong winds and snowfalls, seismic activity.

    Buildings fit into any architectural style.

    They can be either compact sizes with a diagonal of 1.5–2 m, or spacious with a diagonal of 3-5 m. You can install such a gazebo in the garden or in front of the house, the entrance is easy to turn in the right direction.

Most multifaceted open-type buildings have carved wooden finishes or forged elements. For recreation in winter, they erect closed grill houses from timber or logs with fireplaces and a stove.

   On our site you can find contacts of construction companies that offer the service of building small forms. You can talk directly with representatives by visiting the Low-Rise Country exhibition of houses.

Choosing a multifaceted form to build a gazebo in the country, it is better to purchase ready-made projects or use the services of construction companies.

Combined Buildings

If traditional forms of buildings cannot satisfy the needs of the owner, then combined buildings are chosen. Designs with two floors are versatile and spacious. Such a structure is usually zoned: the second floor is intended for families, the first for public use. It is also possible to use the ground floor as a storage room or garage. Such objects are especially popular in small areas, as they can significantly save space.

See the possible design options for gazebos in the video:

Another option for combined construction is the combination of a closed utility unit with an attached open canopy for relaxation. The utility block is built in a rectangular shape, the canopy can be a polyhedron or rounded.

Owners of country houses say that they often make the same mistake: “When we build a gazebo, we pay more attention to the exterior design, rather than comfort. As a result, using the building is inconvenient. " Therefore, it is better to immediately learn from the mistakes of others and evaluate the practicality of the building in advance.

Two-story wooden gazebo

Small designs

Such structures are erected in small areas, often attached to a residential building or other structure. The main advantage of such structures is the low cost and minimum size of the occupied area.

The average width is 1.5–2 m, length - 2–2.5 m. For the frame, a metal profile and wooden posts are used. As the sheathing material, lightweight cellular polycarbonate is used.

What to prefer: open or closed gazebo

Garden structures can be made indoor or outdoor, depending on the intended use.

An open gazebo will be a great place to relax in the summer. The design should have a reliable frame and roof, which will protect from sunlight and precipitation. The absence of walls allows air to circulate freely; in the heat, the breeze will blow the tourists. For the construction of the frame, you can use a brick, metal profile, wooden supports. Along the perimeter of the building, railings, decorative fences or supports with climbing plants are mounted.

Indoor facilities are suitable for relaxing in any weather. Covered pavilions have a roof and solid glazed walls, an entrance door. The installation of heating devices will allow you to relax in them even in winter. For construction, brick, wood, glass are suitable. The minor disadvantages of such structures include the high cost of construction. The presence of walls will not allow you to create a feeling of complete solitude with nature.

Large enclosed gazebo with stove

To save money, but at the same time get the opportunity to use the gazebo in the winter, a design with removable frames is installed.

Gazebo with barbecue or barbecue

Owners of gazebos with barbecue grills can fry kebabs and not worry about the weather. To make the design safe and reliable, make a foundation with additional supports for the barbecue, stove. The walls are built of bricks, blocks, wooden beams with fire treatment.

The shape of the barbecue is chosen according to personal preference, it is only important to ensure the presence of a side along its edge to support the frame. A warm wood stove is convenient to use, but it weighs a lot, requires a reinforced foundation.

An open source building design should take into account fire regulations. In front of the barbecue or firebox, it is necessary to provide 3 m of free space, on the sides more than 1 m. The wall close to the source of fire can be sheathed with cement-bonded particleboard. The flooring under the barbecue and within a radius of 1 meter from it is covered with sheet iron. If the floor is stone, then additional protection is not necessary.

Advantages and disadvantages of a gazebo made of wood

Wooden structures are the most common in garden construction. They have many advantages.

    Affordable cost. Buildings are durable, but not costly.

    Large selection of material: log, solid and glued beams, lining, board.

    The tree is easy to process, so you can build an object with the most complex design.

    High environmental performance.

    Working with wood is simple, no expensive equipment is required.

The disadvantages of wooden structures include the need for regular treatment with antiseptics, fire and bioprotective agents. If the material is of poor quality, poorly dried, then the formation of cracks, distortions in the finished building is possible.

Advantages and disadvantages of metal arbors

The metal is characterized by high strength, durability, resistance to temperature and humidity changes. Garden buildings made of metal are welded or forged. Welded structures have a low cost, simple design. The assembly of such a gazebo is quick and easy. The object is not very heavy, which allows you to build a lightweight foundation.

Lace shod arbors will become decoration of any dacha. They are performed according to individual sketches, their cost is very high. The disadvantages include the inability to buy a finished object and assemble it yourself. In the sun, the metal heats up, it is better to install metal structures in the shade.

Environmental protection

The harmful effects of precipitation, sunlight can reduce the life of buildings made of wood, metal. For external protection, special means must be used.

How to protect the gazebo from the weather, watch the video:

Metal structures are coated with anti-corrosion compounds, primed and painted. Processing prevents corrosion processes, the appearance of rust. Elements from wood are treated with protective agents against pests, fungi and mold. Impregnations with oils in the composition form a varnish film on the surface, the tree will not get wet.

Conclusion

Beautiful arbors will not only decorate your site, they will allow you to have fun outdoors, regardless of the weather.

The gazebo is the perfect complement to any summer residence, because here it is nice to retire to a cup of tea and talk with friends and celebrate a family celebration. Do you want to become the owner of such a functional and comfortable building? There is nothing easier - you can craft it yourself using the most ordinary materials at hand. In order to fully cope with the task, we offer to gradually understand the construction technology: to your attention a detailed instruction on how to build a gazebo beautifully, quickly and cheaply, as well as photos and videos that will serve as a useful visual reference point in your work.

Stage 1: Determine the parameters of the gazebo

In order for the construction of the gazebo to not result in large time, power and financial costs, it is important to think through every detail to every detail of the future design. In particular:

  • dimensions;
  • form;
  • type of roof;
  • type of foundation;
  • materials for the frame.

The dimensions of the gazebo are best calculated according to the formula: 1 person = 1 sq.m. space. The shape of the structure determines the level of complexity of the construction, so if you are undertaking such work for the first time, give preference to a traditional rectangular arbor.

The roof of the gazebo can be single-pitched, gable, rounded or pyramidal. Naturally, it is cheaper and easier to mount a pitched roof.

As for materials, it is best to erect a gazebo from the bars of wood, corrugated board and metal racks - it is much easier to work with them than with brick, stone, logs or forged gratings. In addition, these materials are very budget.

Stage 2: Getting Ready for Construction

As you can see, the ideal option for a novice builder is a rectangular arbor with a shed roof on the foundation of a slab type. To build such an extension, you will need the following supplies:

  • bars of two types - with a section of 50 x 50 and 100 x 100 mm;
  • wooden boards 30 x 150 mm and 50 x 150 mm;
  • sheets of corrugated board;
  • reinforcement rods;
  • large crushed stone;
  • concrete mortar;
  • sand;
  • screws and screws;
  • primer;
  • paint.

Do not forget about working tools:

  • bulgarian;
  • jigsaw;
  • hacksaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • anchor bolts:
  • steel corners
  • hammer;
  • level;
  • the rule.

After all the materials and tools have been prepared, it is necessary to choose the place of installation of the gazebo and make markings on it. To do this, you first need to determine the four angles of the future design, taking into account pre-designed dimensions, and mark them with beacons. Then between the beacons it is necessary to pull the twine. As a result, you should get a rectangle - such in area will be your gazebo.

Stage 3: Building the foundation

Pouring the foundation begins with the preparation of the pit. Its depth should be 20-30 cm. You can dig it with a simple shovel: remove the soil, level and tamp the bottom. Make sure that the walls of the pit are vertical, without slopes. A 10 cm layer of sand should be poured into the finished recess. It should be moistened and tamped tightly. When you are sure that the layer is perfectly even, set the plank formwork around the pit. Its height should be no more than 10 cm. Next, you need to fix the formwork with bars.

The next step is filling the foundation pit with large gravel. Then, at the corners of the future gazebo, it is necessary to install reinforcement bars in the rubble. For stability of the extension, the rods should rise 10-15 cm above the foundation level. Then fill the foundation pit with concrete mortar.

Tip. After pouring, be sure to level the concrete with the rule so that the base is perfectly even. Proceed with further construction work only after the foundation has completely hardened!

Stage 4: Assembling the Frame

Installing the frame of the gazebo is one of the most complex and responsible works of the entire construction process, so it is very important to carry it out in a clear sequence:

  • Prepare 4 bars with a cross section of 100 x 100 mm and cut them to the height of the structure. Primer the finished elements.

Important! The front bars must be at least 15 cm longer than the rear so that it is possible to form a roof slope.

  • Drill each supporting block in the bottom end. The diameter of the hole should be equal to the diameter of the reinforcement rods installed at the corners of the foundation.
  • Slide the support bars onto the rods and level them vertically with a level. Secure them with anchor bolts.
  • Connect the corner bars with 50 x 150 mm boards and install special braces for the rafters.
  • At a distance of 10 cm from the top of the structure and 50 cm from the floor, connect the posts with jumpers from the bars with a section of 50 x 50 m, fixing them with bolts. Between these jumpers every 50 cm with the help of steel corners and screws, fix the vertical bars. Only the entrance area should remain free.

Stage 5: Mount the roof and arrange the gazebo

Installation of the roof does not require much time and effort, as single-pitched structures are very easy to install. So, first install the logs on the boards that connect the corner bars. The average step is 30-40 cm. Then, sheathe them with a 30 x 150 mm board, leaving 10 cm gaps between them. Next, cover the boards with glassine and fill with thin slats on top. On these slats, lay the sheets of corrugated board and fix them with self-tapping screws or nails. Actually, the roof is ready.

After the main construction work is completed, proceed to design the gazebo. To begin with, it must be treated with an anti-corrosion agent. Then the structure can be painted, varnished or even lined with lining. After that, conduct electricity and install the necessary furniture. And in conclusion, you can hang the walls of the gazebo with a light tulle to give the space even more comfort.

As you can see, in the construction of a summer house there is nothing complicated. If you follow our simple instructions, you can get a beautiful corner for a comfortable outdoor recreation without unnecessary time and money.

For almost every person, a summer residence is the second home or favorite vacation spot. Maintenance of the garden and the garden, as well as construction work in the house are labor-intensive processes that require investment of finance and physical labor. The gazebo is not only a beautiful addition to the site, but also serves as a great place to relax. When choosing materials for the construction of the gazebo, most prefer wood. Independent manufacture of the gazebo will significantly save money.

The main advantages of wooden arbors:

  1. The beauty. Undoubtedly, the creative abilities of ordinary people sometimes pleasantly surprise.
  2. Environmental friendliness. Wood does not contain harmful substances.
  3. Adequate price. Wood can be easily purchased at hardware stores at an affordable price.
  4. Easy to use. Wood is quite convenient in work and does not require special professional skills.
  5. At high temperatures, especially in summer, arbours made of wood do not heat up.

The disadvantages include:

  • Fragility. The tree can rot and the probability of damage by wood-beetle bugs is high. To extend the term of operation, it is necessary at the end of the summer season to remove fallen leaves from the floor to avoid rotting. It is also necessary to process surfaces of wood with special antiseptic compounds, this is done immediately after construction, but before painting / varnishing of wooden structures. Cracks that have appeared over time need to be puttied. In winter, for the safety of the gazebo, the roof should be covered with stretch film and it is advisable to transfer all unnecessary items to an enclosed space.
  • High flammability. Due to the high risk of fire, it is unsafe to install barbecues and braziers in the gazebo. The likelihood of a fire is reduced when wood is treated with special compounds that minimize the risks of such a disaster.

At the preparatory stage, it is necessary to choose a place, size and type of structure, style of construction and building materials. The choice of the size of the gazebo depends on the main purpose of the construction. For family or friendly gatherings you need a big gazebo, for personal needs, a small one is enough.

Choosing a place is a responsible process. The durability of the structure depends on this factor. If the structure is built in a lowland, then due to frequent precipitation it can rot. The wind protection factor is also important. Endless drafts are unlikely to bring pleasure from gatherings in the gazebo. From the point of view of landscape design, the view from the proposed gazebo should be good. An ideal option is to build a structure in the back of the garden.

For complete harmony, it is necessary that the gazebo is designed in the style of building a house, otherwise such a dissonance will strongly stand out on the site.

Pergolas can be classified according to the following criteria:

  • by type of construction;
  • in form.

Common shapes are: rectangular, hexagonal and round.

By the type of arbor can be divided into open, half-closed and closed. Closed canopies are universal for operation at any time of the year. Semi-closed gazebos resemble a small house.

An important nuance is to take into account the style of construction in accordance with the landscape design. The most common styles of gazebos include classic, Victorian, rustic, oriental and personal.

The classic style of construction is characterized by clear lines. The basis of the design is dominated by hexagonal and quadrangular bases.

The Victorian style is characterized by ornamental and ordinary plants, therefore, during construction, taking into account this nuance, the base of the arbor is built together with a special lattice.

Oriental style differs from others in the form of a roof and extraordinary ornaments.

Having decided on the style and appearance of the proposed gazebo, it is necessary to draw up drawings. Thanks to them, you can understand how to make the necessary construction. A correctly drawn up project will help save time during the construction of the structure, calculate the exact number of necessary building materials, take into account all the nuances before the start of construction in order to obtain a high-quality and durable construction.

The design scheme should include a view of the proposed design from all sides with an indication of the dimensions.

In accordance with the planned project of a wooden structure, the construction process involves the presence of such materials:

  • wooden blocks;
  • piles
  • boards;
  • cement;
  • crushed stone;
  • sand;
  • nails or screws;
  • corners made of metal;
  • roof covering materials;
  • fittings;
  • brick;
  • roofing material.

The necessary tools are:

  • hammer;
  • chisel;
  • drill / driver;
  • spanners;
  • electric planer;
  • circular Saw.

After the preparatory phase, the process of performing construction works follows, which includes the sequential implementation of the steps:

  1. Clearing and leveling the construction site. At this stage, you need to clean the area of debris, cut down trees and bushes, if necessary, to level the site.
  2. The choice of foundation. A properly laid foundation is the basis of the success and durability of the building. There are such options for the base - tape, slab and columnar. The simplest and not requiring large financial investments is columnar. To do this, it is necessary to mark the territory of the future gazebo with wooden columns and ropes stretched between them. Then, at the allocated area, remove the upper ground layer with a depth of at least 0.5 m. After that, sand (10 cm), crushed stone (10 cm), concrete mortar (30 cm) are laid in layers. Such a solution is made of sand, gravel and cement. Next, lay a layer of roofing material on the concrete layer. Then you need to make columns of brick in three or four rows in order to create a space between the ground and the arbor in order to prevent rotting of the wood. At the final stage of creating the foundation, you need to re-lay the layer of roofing material.
  3. Installation of the floor. To accomplish this task, it is necessary to choose the floor installation option: on the basis of the structure or taking into account the emphasis on the floor of the walls. The second option is quite simple. For the arrangement of the floor, wooden bars are used, treated with layers of copper sulphate to avoid rotting and eating by insects.
  4. Frame and roof construction. When carrying out such work, it is important to focus on the load-bearing beams, because they are responsible for the stability of the arbor. When assembling the frame, wooden boards and bars are used. Bearing supports are mounted from wooden blocks. The basis of the frame is made up of special bars that are placed on concrete blocks. Floor logs and uprights are attached to the base of the structure. To the frame - vertical posts using metal corners and screws. For vertical arrangement of the base, special supports must be used. When constructing the frame, the so-called upper harnesses (special horizontal bars) are used. The easiest way to build a roof is to use wooden logs that create geometric shapes for construction.
  5. Wall covering. At this construction stage, the choice of material is important: sheet metal, boards, slate and others. The main disadvantage when choosing sheet material is the lack of sound insulation, this is especially true in rainy weather. The easiest option is to use wall cladding with wooden boards. Depending on the style and design of the planned design, solid or lattice walls can be made.
  6. Beautification of the gazebo. The final stage is the filling and creation of the necessary interior of the received structure.

The choice of furniture and the availability of electricity already depend on the desire and imagination of the owner.

Schemes

Schemes will help you design your own arbor from a tree:

Hello!

If you are planning to build a beautiful and simple gazebo on your garden plot, but don’t know where to start, perhaps this article will help you.

Before you begin construction, you need to decide what your gazebo will look like. There are a lot of options for such designs. This is a closed gazebo, and open, square and polygonal, single or gable, tent and spherical, small and large, with or without a stove, made of brick, wood or metal, glass or polycarbonate.

Option 1.

Option 2

Option 3

Option 4

Option 5

As you can see, there are a lot of different types of arbors. Therefore, it is necessary to choose for yourself the most optimal option that would meet your needs and possibilities.

Below, we will look at how to build a simple garden gazebo from a tree with your own hands. For example, take another beautiful option:

Before you begin construction, you will need to draw a sketch with all sizes, taking into account the type of roof. Therefore, instead of a single slope, you can make a gable or square.

According to the sketch, we get the right material in the required quantity.

When everything is ready, you can begin construction. Since the gazebo is stationary and cumbersome enough, a foundation must be made for it.

We start with the fact that in the chosen place we mark the perimeter with the help of pegs and rope.

After that, we tear out a hole of 90 cm, fill it with sand or stones and fill it with a solution.

In advance, before the concrete has frozen, we install anchors for fastening the vertical posts. After the foundation is completely dry, first we fasten the racks themselves.

Having installed the racks, we assemble the frame itself. We start doing it from the bottom harness. To do this, we use a wooden beam, laying it every 40-50 cm. After that, we install all the other racks of the frame, which should already hold the upper trim and the roof. The number of such racks depends on the size of the gazebo.

Once the frame is ready, you can sheathe the floor with a board. You can fix it to the crate with both nails and self-tapping screws.

The next stage of construction is the installation of a roof. To do this, first make the upper harness. The material for it will be a bar, which is bolted or nailed to the supports. For greater strength, you can use the mount corners.

The roof is directly made already depending on the chosen form. Basically it is a one, two or four-pitched roof. If you decide to make a gable roof, then the installation of its rafters will be slightly different from that for a gable roof. The main rafters are mounted in pairs, and for structural strength, you can also add auxiliary rafters, which are attached to both the upper harness and the main rafters.

After that, we sheathe the roof with the selected roofing material, and also, we sew the arbor itself as it was provided in the sketch.

Good arbors are obtained not only from building materials, but also from improvised materials. The main thing is to have desire and fantasy. And what is improvised material. In general, we can say that this is all that is no good. This is waste during construction, and old window frames, plastic bottles and much more that, at times, litter the summer cottage. Of course, using such waste you still can not do without special building materials. However, the gazebo constructed in this way will be much more original, such as these

If your site has a lot of unnecessary tree trunks that you cannot get rid of in any way, then they can go into business.

Quite originally obtained from plastic bottles. This "good" is enough to build even a house out of them.

You can not bother with building materials at all, but use climbing plants for the gazebo.

Finding a croaker and old dry logs is probably not difficult. A gazebo made from such material looks quite good.

If there is a pond near you and a lot of reeds grow on it, then it can also be used to create a gazebo.

In general, there are many options, it would be, as they say desire. Even an old car that will never drive can fit.

Arbor from a profile pipe for a summer residence (photos and drawings)

The metal structure, after the wooden one, is the most common. Usually, a profile pipe and polycarbonate are used for its construction. But you can sheathe it with wood.

As with the construction of any other gazebo, you must start with a drawing. For the construction of a profile pipe, this is also important because you indicate in the drawing the dimensions at which later you will have to cut the material.

The rather simple and uncomplicated design of such a gazebo is a rectangular shape with a size of 2x3 m. It is not so bulky, and you can easily set a table and several chairs or benches in it.

The difference in the construction of the gazebo from profile pipes compared to other materials is in the set of the necessary tool. You will need to have a welding machine, level, grinder, drill with drill and fasteners.

The foundation is not solid, but pits are dug out according to the number of supports. The pit will need to be dug to a depth of 60 centimeters. On the supports, you can use a profile of 80x80 mm and with a wall thickness of 3 mm. Support racks need to be welded to the racks, which will increase the rigidity of the structure.

Crushed stone is poured into the dug pits, then they put racks and pour concrete. At the same time, it is necessary to check the verticality of the racks as the concrete hardens.

After the foundation has hardened, a lower strapping is done. A profile of a smaller section is used for it than for racks. It is necessary to weld it to the supports at a certain height above the ground. A rafter system is also created from the profile. With a gable roof, it is welded at an angle of 15 degrees. For the convenience of fixing the roofing material, you can make a crate from the pipe in increments of 45 cm.

If you want to make more complex forms of arbors, you need to be patient, as the process will be more time-consuming.

But if you are determined to achieve a result, then no difficulties will stop you. A self-made gazebo will delight not only you, but also your guests.
