As the owner of a small-sized apartment, I am always with particular interest in various types of folding furniture. I especially like multifunctional transformers, for example, beds turning into wardrobes, sofas into desks and other similar things. It’s nice that the designers think about us (or do they think globally - about overpopulation?) And create such pieces of furniture that will help to transform our 10 sqm bedroom into a living room or a study with a “flick of the arm”.

Today I want to show the most interesting examples of folding furniture. Most of the presented transforming beds you can buy in the TRANSMEB store, in Moscow. Let's see photos as ideas for inspiration. Perhaps some of them will interest our men who assemble furniture with their own hands.

Transformer: from bed to wardrobe

Let's start with the lifesaver of one-room apartments - a lifting bed. This type of furniture is well known in our country. The lifting mechanism allows you to press the bed against the wall, freeing up easy access. There are many models of such devices, the models look most interesting when the bed (in the assembled state) visually merges with the atmosphere, for example, how in this photo of the room of a teenage boy it turns into a closet.

Here is another example of a transforming bed, obviously cheaper. Suitable for the room of a student or student in the style of minimalism.

By the way, among folding single beds there are quite interesting ideas - for example, this one is pretty cleverly camouflaged under a closed shelf or chest of drawers.

Transformer: bed-desk

An interesting idea for children's and teenage rooms is a bed combined with a workplace. However, some samples are suitable for adults, for example, such as in the photo below:

There are several design options for such models, remember the yellow bed in the very first photo? Its mechanism does not move the desktop down, but up. And so she looks after the transformation, reviving the interior with rich pink.

Of course, there are folding beds of a similar design and double sizes.

Transformer: sofa bed

There are transformers combining a bed and a sofa. It seems there is nothing unusual here - most sofas can be laid out, providing a berth. In general, I agree, although when the sofa is sorted into a bunk bed - it is impressive.

The rest of the transformers, of those that I came across, are more commonplace and in design follow the same idea as the "bed-desk". And yet it seems to me that for our small rooms it is better not to invent, but to buy a normal folding sofa. It will definitely cost less than such an invention!

Useful transformers for small apartments

Tired of beds? I, too ... But I also wanted to talk about other types of such furniture. I will try shorter. When I wrote on the topic, I brought several options for folding tables. There are many noteworthy ideas in this area, but for today I will limit myself to two examples.

I really liked this idea of \u200b\u200ba pull-out table (I found it a long time ago, on the overseas young lady's blog), but I still did not understand how it works. Why a facade is used instead of a leg (everything seems to be in place) and how such a long table fit into a cabinet 60 cm deep remains a mystery to me. I would be grateful if someone would reveal this secret to me.

I would like to mention another wonderful design invention for small living rooms. This is a combination of coffee and dining tables in one design. I myself have been eyeing this for a long time, but the price, in my opinion, is too high in our stores. Although there are quite decent options in online stores, for example, at prices 2-3 times lower than in ordinary stores.
