squares, as a rule, are made by the following method: a pipe of the required diameter is taken, then a segment of the required length is cut off from it, on special equipment this segment is bent into a corner, with an angle of rotation of 90 or 45 degrees, inside which a thread is subsequently cut. squares used to connect water and gas pipes , in heating systems, plumbing, gas pipeline and other systems operating in non-aggressive environments (water, saturated steam, combustible gas, etc.). In the figure below, you can see how schematically they look squares:

Squares:

squares They are a part in the form of a branch with an angle of rotation of 90 or 45 degrees with a thread inside. carving squares cut into lathe with a cutter. squares there are two types: squares and transitional elbows. Lead-in elbows are used when the diameters of the pipes connected to each other are equal, and transition angles are used when the diameters of the pipes connected to each other are different. squares are used with the use of a sealant, at a medium temperature not higher than 175 ° C and a pressure not higher than 1.6 MPa. squares manufactured according to the following regulatory documents:

- Elbows according to GOST 8946-75 (ductile iron squares)
- Elbows according to GOST 8947-75 (transitional ductile iron elbows)

squares, depending on which normative document they are made GOST 8946-75 or GOST 8947-75), may have different parameters and execution. Below you can see the versions and parameters squares made according to these documents:

State standard GOST 8946-75* (ST SEV 3298-81) “Ductile iron fittings with straight thread for pipelines. Angles are passable. Basic Dimensions” entered into force on January 1, 1977. This document is highly specialized and contains only information on the main dimensions of such pipeline fittings as elbows. However, the data of GOST 8946-75* can be considered exhaustive and do not require additional search for other regulatory and legal acts and documents.

The standard contains the necessary drawings of the through angles and their dimensions in mm, presented in tabular form. Examples are given symbols to optimize the process of working with pipeline fittings.
