Small-caliber rifles: characteristics and price. Sports and hunting small-caliber rifles

Airguns. Shooting from pneumatic weapons is the main form of mass training of schoolchildren in the techniques and rules of shooting. The skills and abilities acquired while shooting from an air rifle contribute to the successful mastery of the technique of shooting from small-caliber and military weapons.

Pneumatic weapons have a number of advantages. These include low weight, ease of weapon design and the possibility of firing in simplified shooting ranges or specially equipped rooms.

Sports air rifles include rifles IZH-22, IZH-32, IZH-38.

Purpose, characteristics and general arrangement of the IZH-38S rifle. The rifle (Fig. 30) is intended for mass initial training in bullet shooting. Its caliber is 4.5 mm, barrel length is 450 mm, rifle length is 1050 mm, weight is 2.8 kg. The force of pulling the trigger from a combat platoon is 2-3 kgf. The initial speed of the bullet is 140-180 m / s.

Rice. 30. Air rifle IZH-38S: 1 - stock; 2 - sight; 3 - axis of the trunk; 4 - trunk; 5 - hinge axis; 6 - hinge; 7 - trigger guard; 8 - trigger hook

The shot occurs as a result of air pressure compressed by the piston, which moves under the influence of a pre-stressed spring. When the mainspring is released, a pressure of up to 5 atmospheres is created in the air chamber of the rifle, ejecting a bullet at a distance of up to 150 m. The tension force of the piston spring is 50-60 kg, but thanks to the lever system, up to 3 kg is enough to cock it.

The design of the sight allows you to adjust the shooting vertically and horizontally with adjusting screws. Horizontally, coarse adjustment is also possible due to the displacement of the base of the rear sight relative to the frame.

bullets. In shooting from pneumatic weapons, two types of bullets are used: lead (Diabolo, DC, DC-m) and reusable with a plastic stabilizer. Bullets "Diabolo" have an accuracy of fire of 65 mm and are intended for initial training in bullet shooting. Accuracy of shooting bullets "DC" is 10 mm, these bullets are designed for mass performance of sports categories. Bullets "DTs-m" have an accuracy of fire of 2.5-5.5 mm and are intended for highly qualified shooters.

Rifle loading. Take the rifle with one hand by the neck of the box, and press the barrel with the other. Rotate the barrel around the axis to the rearmost position, while the cocking lever, overcoming the resistance of the piston spring, will put the piston on the cocking. Insert the bullet into the bore. Rotate the barrel around the axis until it is fixed in a horizontal position.

The rifle is loaded. When you pull the trigger, a shot will follow.

Care and saving. It is not recommended to shoot from an air rifle “idle”, without bullets, since in this case the piston, without proper air resistance, accelerates excessively, hits the end of the cylinder hard and can be damaged. It is also impossible to use various objects for shooting instead of bullets. This will damage the weapon.

The rifle should be disassembled only for the purpose of its complete cleaning or troubleshooting. The disassembly and assembly of a rifle is carried out by a specialist (instructor, teacher of pre-conscription training or a shooting club) or a trained shooter under the supervision of a specialist.

For long-term storage without use, it is necessary to lightly lubricate the metal parts of the rifle with gun grease.

Small-caliber weapons. The TOZ-8 small-caliber rifle is designed for initial shooting training, training and mass shooting competitions.

The combat properties of the rifle: caliber - 5.6 mm; weight - 3.12 kg; muzzle velocity - about 310 m/s; rate of fire - 10-12 rds / min; sighting range - 250 m; the greatest range of a bullet - up to 1600 m; lethal range of a bullet - up to 800 m.

A rifle (Fig. 31) consists of a barrel, receiver, trigger, bolt, aiming mechanism and stock.

The barrel serves to direct the flight of the bullet. The bore has four grooves that wind from left to right. The bullet, passing through the barrel, makes about two revolutions. The gaps between the rifling are called fields, and the distance between opposite fields is called the barrel caliber. In the rear part of the barrel bore is drilled in the shape of a cartridge. A cartridge is inserted here when loading, this part is called the chamber. A sighting device is attached to the barrel.

The receiver is designed to accommodate the shutter in it. Its front part is rigidly connected to the trunk. The receiver has a reinforced insert that ensures the correct supply of cartridges into the chamber. A trigger mechanism is attached to the bottom of the receiver. The rear part of the receiver is closed with a cap (back cover).

The trigger mechanism consists of a trigger, a leaf spring with a rack, a screw and an axle. The trigger guard is used to prevent accidental pressing of the trigger.

The shutter serves to send a cartridge into the chamber, lock the bore, fire a shot and remove the cartridge case.

The aiming device is designed to direct the rifle at the target and give it the required aiming angle. It includes an open-type sector sight and a front sight with a front sight. An open sight consists of an aiming block and an aiming bar with a collar.

The stock is designed to connect all parts of the rifle and the convenience of shooting. It has a butt, neck and forearm.

Features of the small-caliber rifle TOZ-12. The TOZ-12 small-caliber rifle (Fig. 32) is an improved sporting model of the TOZ-8 rifle.

The purpose and arrangement of the barrel, receiver, trigger and bolt are the same as for the TOZ-8 rifle. Stock with an elongated forearm. The sighting device consists of a diopter sight and a front sight (diopters and front sights are interchangeable).

The diopter sight (Fig. 32, b) consists of a square, a block with a transition bar and a diopter. On the square there are horizontal and vertical micrometer correction screws with heads. Divisions are applied on the heads. Each division is equal to 1/10 of a turn. When the head is turned one division, a click occurs, and the middle point of impact moves 1 cm. After making the correction, the square is again fixed with a locking screw. The rifle comes with interchangeable rectangular and ring front sights, which are attached to the body.

Rice. 33. Small-caliber side-fire cartridge: 1 - bullet; 2 - leading belts; 3 - sleeve; 4 - rim of the sleeve; 5 - shock composition; 6 - powder

The impact composition necessary to ignite the powder charge is pressed into the head of the sleeve between the walls of its rim. The sleeve has a cylindrical shape. Inside the sleeve, in addition to the shock composition, 0.06 g of smokeless powder is placed. In front of the sleeve, a bullet made of an alloy of lead and antimony is strengthened. Leading belts are made in the middle part of the bullet to reduce friction on the bore. On the back there is a spherical recess to prevent the breakthrough of gases between the bullet and the walls of the barrel when fired.

Incomplete disassembly and assembly of the rifle. Starting disassembly, you should make sure that the rifle is not loaded.

To disassemble the rifle for cleaning and lubrication, it is necessary in the following order: loosen the clamping screw of the sight body and remove the diopter sight (for TOZ-12 rifles); open the shutter and, pressing the trigger with the index finger of the left hand, knock it off the receiver with light blows of the shutter to the bottom of the cap; take the lock out of the box. The assembly of the rifle is carried out in the reverse order.

The separation of the barrel with the receiver from the stock, disassembly and assembly of the bolt and other components are carried out in case of emergency (heavy contamination, accumulation of grease, fit of the barrel to the forearm of the stock, breakage) and only by small arms specialists.

Care and saving. The rifle should be stored unloaded, with the trigger pulled. It is necessary to protect it from sharp shocks and shocks, to prevent clogging of mechanisms with dust and sand.

Inspection, cleaning and lubrication of the rifle should be carried out immediately after shooting and later, when stored without use, at least once every three months.

It is forbidden to clean and lubricate the barrel bore of a small-caliber rifle from the muzzle, as the ramrod erases the edges of the rifling of the muzzle of the barrel, which adversely affects the accuracy of the rifle battle.

To clean the barrel bore, wrap a rag or tow 4-5 cm long on the rotating part of the wipe, soak it with liquid gun grease and insert the ramrod into the bore from the chamber side. Cleaning should be continued until powder deposits are completely removed from the surfaces of the bore and chamber.

After cleaning, wipe the bore, chamber and metal parts dry and lubricate with a thin layer of gun grease. The wood of the lodge is wiped with a dry rag.

A small-caliber rifle of domestic production, commonly referred to as a "small" 5.6 mm caliber, has gained enviable popularity among hunters and athletes, thanks to unpretentious maintenance, simplicity of the main components and a high degree of reliability.

The rifle got its diminutive nickname because of the small diameter of the cartridge caliber, which is 5.6 mm. This type of rifle can be presented in various modifications, made taking into account the characteristics of a particular application.

Design features

The weight of the rifle is 3.12 kg, the rate of fire is up to 12 rounds per minute, the bullet speed is up to 310 m/s.

The main elements of the rifle:

  • receiver;
  • trunk;
  • trigger and aiming mechanisms;
  • bed.

Barrel execution - rifled. Unlike smoothbore weapons, the barrel of such a rifle has 4 screw grooves.

The rifle is equipped with a sliding bolt action. Lugs in the rifle are not provided. The cartridge is fixed using the loading handle. The elements of the trigger mechanism and the bolt of the weapon are located in the bolt box.

The presented rifle does not have a magazine. Equipment for aiming is made in the form of a front sight and an open sight. The rear cover of the rifle provides protection for the shooter's eyes, cutting off the flow of powder gases when firing.

Model range of rifles of the TOZ series

TOZ-8 and TOZ-9 - types of small-caliber rifles have proven themselves among hunters, largely due to their unpretentiousness and simplified design.

Both versions of the rifle are similar in many respects. The difference between the TOZ-9 and its predecessor, the 8th series, is the presence of a five-shot magazine.

The TOZ-8 rifle is made in the form of a single-shot carbine.

Technical data TOZ-8

The rifle is equipped with a striker-type trigger mechanism for a 5.6x16 mm cartridge. The TOZ-8 barrel has a cylindrical shape. Its length is 640 mm. The fly is made in the form of a cylinder with a tongue elongated at the base.

The execution of the rifle bolt is longitudinally sliding. On the front of it is a swivel clutch. A fuse is not provided. The weight of the presented sample is 3 - 4 kg. The rifle can be equipped with an optical sight.

Technical parameters TOZ-9

Unlike previous counterparts, the rifle has a five-round magazine. All other nodes and mechanisms of this sample completely coincide with the layout of TOZ - 8.

The rifle is equipped with a single-row magazine with a single-row filling of ammunition, designed for 4 rounds. Another cartridge is located in the chamber.

The removed magazine TOZ - 9 is filled using a window in the upper part of the magazine, after which it is inserted into the rifle, regardless of the position of the bolt. The design of the rifle allows you to cock the weapon for firing a single cartridge. In this case, the rifle magazine should be emptied in advance.

Carbine TOZ-11

The 11th model of the presented family. This updated version of the rifle is presented in the form of a single-shot carbine based on the TOZ-8.

The rifle has not undergone almost any changes. The only difference between this sample and the early TOZs is the reduction in the weight of the rifle, which was reduced to 2 kg.

Carabiners of the TOZ series can be presented in various price niches. One way or another, it is worth noting that the "small things" of this series are noticeably cheaper than their Russian-made competitors, for example, the same Izhevsk "Sobol".

The price range for such rifles can vary from 10 to 25 thousand rubles. You can buy the presented samples on various weapons sites.

When buying such a rifle, you need to take into account the fact that a small caliber does not exempt you from obtaining a license to purchase rifled weapons.

The presented samples are rightfully considered one of the best types of firearms in their class. Proven in combat conditions, the time-tested rifles of the TOZ series still have not lost their popularity among hunting enthusiasts and athletes.

Today, on the hunting rifle market, you can find a lot of imported and domestic shotguns, but all of them, even used ones, will come out at the price of a new TOZ - 34.

Then why buy a used hunting rifle with a colossal shot and careless operation, if you can become the owner of a domestic vertical rifle that has proven itself over the years and fell into your hands right from the factory?

From the very beginning, you need to decide on a weapons store. There are a lot of them in Moscow and it is best to choose the most authoritative one by visiting the site and reading the reviews.

There is also an official website of the manufacturer, where you can get comprehensive information about the production and the weapon itself.

Description and price TOZ-34

Let's look at this option and see how this double-barreled shotgun justifies itself.

Initially, the gun was produced piece by piece at the Tula Arms Plant. Its production began in the sixty-fourth year.

The design of the weapon was very simple. The gun is still considered one of the lightest among hunting smoothbore fractures of this type.

In the sixty-fifth year, the product was awarded a high award. The forend of the TOZ-34 is not removable and consists of two halves attached to the trunks. The trunks are removable, arranged horizontally.

Barrels, like most hunting rifles, have standard tapers. The hammers are cocked when the weapon is broken. The weapon is equipped with trigger interceptors and non-automatic fuses.

The trigger mechanism is equipped with closed hammers and a double trigger.

Wooden parts are made of birch, walnut or beech.

The cost of the new TOZ-34 depends on the caliber and design of the gun and varies between 15-30 thousand rubles. A used shotgun is much cheaper, but, of course, it is impossible to get quality guarantees in this case.

Choice

Like all guns, TOZ-34 needs to be properly inspected. Evaluate the quality of steel burnishing.

The coating should be perfectly smooth and uniform. You also need to carefully inspect the butt and forend for defects and wood chips, and then look into the trunks.

Each shadow ring in the bore must be flawless, perfectly even! The lines should be thin and even.

Hunter Note: if the rings are not perfectly shaped, or one of them, this indicates the curvature of the barrel or its inflation, in no case should you buy such a gun!

When buying a new weapon, before shooting it must be disassembled and cleaned of factory grease. In this case, you will not become an eyewitness to the myths about defective springs and other parts or tight fuses.

Peculiarities

TOZ-34 was produced in four calibers, so every hunter could pick up a weapon for their own purposes.

12 gauge is ideal for bird hunting, where you need a dense shot scree or large game with cartridges loaded with a bullet or buckshot, and 28 gauge is ideal for commercial hunting, when the condition of the animal's skin plays a major role.

A small batch produced guns with a rare 32 caliber. Today it is easy to buy a souvenir version of the gun, it is decorated with embossing, artistic engraving and chrome details, but such a weapon is also more expensive.

There are many varieties of TOZ - 34. An interesting layout is called "Bison".

This is a multi-barreled weapon capable of firing a 9 x 53 mm cartridge from the lower barrel, and a hunting cartridge, twelfth caliber, from the upper one.

The weapon is equipped with an optical sight. About TOZ-34 collected a lot of feedback from owners of different levels and experience in hunting.

Mostly reviews about the gun are positive and there are no particular complaints. Some people complain about the tight safety and the lack of a cheek piece, but now there are a lot of parts and spare parts for a shotgun in stores, with which the owner can customize the weapon to his needs. Watch the video review of TOZ-34:

For all the time, not such a large number of Tula guns were produced, while it is worth noting the fact that among them there are several models that are sure to be worthy of attention from hunters, since it was in their production that manufacturers honed their skills, using at that time a variety of weapon improvements. One of these models is the TOZ-BM 12 gauge, which was created for all shooting enthusiasts and has become incredibly widespread among hunters. It’s worth mentioning right away that this gun was originally a model for commercial and amateur hunting.

What is this gun?

TOZ-BM 12 caliber is a model TOZ-B modified in the 57th year of the last century. The new model featured much higher performance in terms of reliability and durability, while initially it was produced exclusively in 16 and 20 gauges. The barrel channels differ in the typical ones made according to the pay-chok type.

Like the original shotgun, TOZ-BM 12 gauge is equipped with padlocks. The barrels of the gun are equipped with a triple locking system on the block, where the lower one was closed using the Perde frame and two additional grenade hooks, while the Griner bolt is used to lock the upper one. Immediately after the shot, the TOZ-BM 12 gauge trigger is fully automatically set to the safety position.

Visual Features

The stock was made of birch, walnut or beech, it is worth noting the fact that the walnut stock is a characteristic feature for exclusive models. The type of neck of the butt was a pistol, semi-pistol, or it could be even.

As with the original model, the barrel length ranges from 700 to 725 mm, while the 16-gauge model provides for the possibility of increasing the barrel to 750 mm. The barrel channels of such weapons do not have any chrome coating, as a result of which it is necessary to constantly monitor that they do not rust. It is not uncommon to find models that have chrome channels, but this is quite rare and only applies to units released after the 60s. The traditional rib is just as easy to use as the brass front sight, so you can comfortably shoot even offhand. The aiming bar is distinguished by a specialized anti-reflective knurling, made in the form of a transverse notch, which allows you to aim as calmly as possible even in fairly bright sunlight.

Advantages

The advantage of TOZ-BM is that the gun can be disassembled as simply as possible, and therefore it is extremely convenient in the process of cleaning and transportation. Among other things, this model is also distinguished by its simplicity and unpretentiousness in care.

The stock, of course, has a far from ideal appearance in ordinary samples, but at the same time, it is almost impossible for users to find any serious complaints about this. On the back of the butt there is a specialized blued or plastic butt plate, due to which, even having a fairly large weight, the TOZ-BM has a relatively comfortable recoil, and the only thing you should not forget is that the weapon requires a competent tab, and to fire necessary, having previously taken the correct stance. Among other things, this is also due to the unique shape of the butt plate.

Flaws

If we talk about the shortcomings of TOZ-BM 12 gauge (photo above), then it can be noted that such guns are far from always equipped with really high-quality finishes and combat. You can often find models of this gun, which are distinguished by rather poor filing and fitting, and in addition they also have a disgusting fight. Thus, the use of a Griner bolt in direct locking necessarily provides for a really high-quality and highly skilled assembly, otherwise the weapon simply will not be able to really clearly fulfill the tasks assigned to it.

It is for this reason that the fit of the upper mechanism is often far from the most satisfactory, and this often spoils the TOZ-BM (12 gauge). Piece production somewhat solved the problem, since exclusive models are practically devoid of any manufacturing flaws. It is also worth noting the fact that many models differ by far from the best debugging and processing of various details, often causing well-deserved comments from most hunters.

How does this affect hunting?

Special attention should be paid to the fact that in ordinary performance such guns often differ in inappropriate stock wood and metal tie-in. Do not forget that too much of this sample can even be dangerous for the hunter, since the safety platoon is almost completely worn out in them. In the same way, non-chrome-plated trunks do not differ in reliability.

Quite often in such guns there is a “baptism”, which involves the failure of the right barrel to the left, while the left one, on the contrary, fails to the right. Of course, this again applies exclusively to ordinary models, but since the cost of just such specimens was the most affordable for most people, they fully met the minimum requirements of the overwhelming majority of hunters of the 60-70s. In the taiga, as well as other remote territories of the former USSR, despite the huge circulation, TOZ-BM 12 caliber (hammer), in principle, was in short supply, and with all the advantages and disadvantages, it constantly retained the status of a desired weapon.

Who uses it and where?

Like the standard model, this one has been used by almost everyone who has had to deal with hunting in professional and everyday life. The popularity of this gun is due to the fact that it is characterized by an extremely well-thought-out and at the same time time-tested design, and more importantly, maintainability, since all parts were widespread and, accordingly, accessible to every hunter. Among other things, many people also appreciated the high degree of strength and reliability of this gun.

For many hunters, the complete absence of a fuse, as well as the presence of external triggers, played an important role, thanks to which the weapon could be brought to battle as soon as possible, since it is quite enough to simply cock the triggers. Also, due to this, the gun could be extremely easily transported with cartridges in the chambers with the triggers released, and it was also not necessary to carry out any unnecessary movements to fire a shot.

What to choose?

In any case, to this day, one of the most common guns among modern hunters is precisely the TOZ-BM 12 gauge. Owner reviews confirm the main advantages and disadvantages described above, and therefore among professionals it is considered an extremely successful weapon, given its current cost. As mentioned above, piece options always deserve special attention, since they are qualitatively different from ordinary ones, starting with the exterior finish and manufacturing of parts and ending with the battle. Among other things, you can also find several guns of this model in a souvenir version.

How to determine the quality of the battle?

Since this weapon itself has a rather respectable age, when acquiring it, everyone asks a completely logical question: "How to determine that the gun is really of high quality and is in good condition?" In fact, there are certain standards that allow you to determine how ready the gun is for combat and whether it has retained its original characteristics.

In accordance with the specifications, at least 55% of pellets must hit the target from the left barrel, while only 45% from the right barrel. No more than 3 shots should be fired from each individual barrel, and if at least one of them provided the above characteristics, then the barrel fight can be called satisfactory.

How to disassemble?

The TOZ-BM gun must be assembled and disassembled exclusively in a certain sequence and in full accordance with the safety rules. It is also recommended not to use any excessive force or impact in this process. Before starting work, the TOZ-BM 12-gauge shotgun must be completely discharged.

The very procedure for disassembling this weapon is carried out as follows:

  1. The forearm is separated from the trunks.
  2. The gun is taken with the right hand by the neck of the box, while the locking lever is retracted with the thumb to the maximum possible right position. After that, the trunks smoothly turn down and separate from the box.
  3. The screw of percussion mechanisms is turned out.
  4. The screw is screwed from the right side into the base of the right firing mechanism, and then, with its help, it will be necessary to carefully separate the right firing mechanism.
  5. Through the hole located in the sear bed, the left percussion mechanism is pushed very carefully with a wooden rod.

What should be taken into account?

The assembly of percussion mechanisms is carried out in the reverse order. At the same time, it is worth noting the fact that it is worth separating the percussion mechanisms only in the process of replacing summer or winter lubricants. It is recommended that a complete assembly of a shotgun be carried out only in case of emergency, and all work should be carried out exclusively in a properly equipped gun shop. Screwdriver blades that are used in the process of assembling and disassembling TOZ-BM (12 gauge) must be properly tucked and fully match the screw slots.

How to handle this weapon?

The gun should always be considered loaded and ready to fire, and never point it at people, pets, or simply stand leaning on the gun. The gun must be kept exclusively unloaded and with the hammers pulled, while the ammunition is stored in a box under a secure lock.

The duration of service, as well as the failure-free operation of the TOZ-BM 12 caliber, directly depend on how skillfully the owner handles this weapon, as well as how high-quality ammunition is used.

Inept or careless handling of such a gun, as well as too frequent complete assembly and disassembly, will ultimately lead to a significant reduction in the overall service life of the TOZ-BM. Owner reviews indicate that the quality of ammunition must also be monitored, not to mention the calibers of your model.

Cleaning Features

Cleaning of weapons should be carried out exclusively before traces of powder deposits are completely removed from the surface of the channels. After the cleaning is completed, with the help of an alkaline composition, the stem channels are thoroughly wiped dry and re-lubricated (you can lubricate with petroleum jelly or with specialized oil). The stock wood can be wiped down with a standard dry cloth.

A day after the shooting and initial cleaning, the stem channels should be wiped with a clean, dry cloth, and if you find any traces of rust or soot, the cleaning will need to be repeated as soon as possible. If, after the usual cleaning, carbon deposits also remain, it must be softened by thoroughly washing the channels with boiling water. After washing, the weapon is re-cleaned in accordance with all requirements and recommendations.

During firing, lead can be deposited in the bore. In order to remove such lead, you need to use a brush made of steel or copper wire, which is lubricated with a special one and then used to wipe the bore. If necessary, you can use a brush made of hard bristles.

For more than 10 years, Toz-120 has been pleasing hunters with its simplicity and reliability. A weapon with a simple design does not have any unnecessary features that the shooter would rarely use. Lovers of luxury can place an order for a unique weapon, the design of which will be complemented by decorative elements.

general information

Toz-120 is equipped with 12-gauge cartridges (depending on modification), has two twin barrels and is used for hunting: both amateur and commercial. The development of the gun was carried out by E.G. Starukhin, who took the equally popular Toz-91 as a basis. The engineer retained many nodes that showed their best side, and eliminated all the shortcomings of the analogue.

The practical design of the weapon allows it to be used in any climatic zones. The exception was the tropical zone with high humidity. Under such conditions, corrosion of the main components of the double-barreled shotgun is accelerated, which can disable it.

In addition to hunting, the Toz-120 gun can be used for sports. For this, the Tula Arms Plant released special "sports" modifications:

  • Toz-120-12-1T - used on a trench stand;
  • Toz-120-1K - used on a round stand;
  • Toz-120-12-1S - used for training in sports shooting.

The trigger mechanism has undergone the greatest change. In the 91st model, it had one trigger, and in the 120th it was supplemented with a function for switching the order of shots. The selector switch is combined with the safety button.

As mentioned above, luxury lovers can get a unique "vertical" on an individual order. There will be no technical changes, the serial versions will differ only in appearance.

The metal parts of the case are subject to change. They are engraved using various technologies, in particular, manually using precious stones. Wooden components are decorated with carvings or carvings.

Design Toz-120

The length of the barrel, depending on the modification of the gun, can be 710 or 750 millimeters. In this case, the length of the chamber can also be different: 70 or 76 millimeters. Each owner has the opportunity to use powerful Magnum ammunition.

The length of the entire "vertical" is 1140 or 1180 millimeters, depending on the length of the barrel. The weight of an unloaded gun ranges from 3.2 to 3.55 kilograms. The final weight depends on the density and processing of the wooden components of the hull.

The weapon is not equipped with removable choke tubes, although many competitors have this option. For greater freedom of choice for each buyer, each gun is equipped with different combinations of chokes, so every hunter will be able to choose exactly what he likes best.

The trigger mechanism is made according to the selector type and has fundamental differences from the Toz-91. Such a device allows you to quickly fire two shots, which is especially useful when shooting at short range, when the target appears in the field of view for a short period of time.

The classic configuration - the shot is first fired from the lower, then from the upper trunks. You can switch the sequence of shots using the lever, which is located on the neck of the butt. By the way, it also activates the fuse.

The hammers cock automatically when the shooter opens the gun. For safety in the Toz-120, safety platoons and a non-automatic fuse are responsible, which reduce the possibility of an accidental shot to zero.

There is an ejector mechanism for extracting cartridge cases from a gun. His work is based on separate ejectors. This is a very convenient system that completely ejects the spent cartridge case and eliminates the possibility of losing a whole cartridge: the ejector only slightly pushes it out of the barrel so that the hunter has the opportunity to easily and quickly remove the charge by hand.

The bore is coated with chrome, which makes it stronger and protects against corrosion. The sighting mechanism is located on the barrel, which is represented by a simple ventilated strap. The barrel is attached to the receiver by means of a grenade hook, a locking frame and a pivot pin. Receiver boxes of piece copies are decorated with engraving. The forearm and butt of the gun are made of high-quality wood - beech or walnut.

Toz-120 characteristics:

  • For firing, charges are used 12/70 or 12/76 "Magnum";
  • The barrel length of the shotgun is 710 or 750 millimeters;
  • The total length of the shotgun is 1140 or 1180 millimeters;
  • The weight of an unloaded shotgun is 3.2-3.55 kilograms.

By its design, this gun imposes serious competition on IZH-27 and Toz-34, which over the long years of their existence have gained great popularity among Russian hunters. The advantage of the Toz-120 is that it is still being produced today, so engineers regularly make various minor changes to its design that only make it better.

Modifications Toz-120

The following varieties of the popular "vertical" are presented on the domestic arms market:

  • Toz-120-12-1E - equipped with an ejector mechanism, loaded with 12/70 cartridges;
  • Toz-120-12M-1E - equipped with an ejector mechanism, loaded with powerful 12/76 Magnum cartridges;
  • Toz-120-12V-1E - has interchangeable muzzle inserts and an ejector mechanism. For shooting, standard 12/70 ammunition is used;
