Toilet bomb recipe No. 1

Toilet bomb composition:
  • half a glass of citric acid;
  • 2 cups baking soda;
  • 30 drops of essential oils (lemon, lavender, mint);
  • container for mixing ingredients;
  • spray bottle with clean water;
  • glass jar with a tight lid for storage.
Instead of these oils, you can take others with the aroma you like, but it is desirable that they have antibacterial properties and an intense, long-lasting scent (for example, tea tree, rosemary, fir, eucalyptus and others).

Additionally, you will need a round measuring spoon and parchment paper or an ice tray, with which you can give the bombs the desired shape.

1. Carefully pour baking soda and citric acid into a bowl, add essential oils to them. Stir.

2. Add a little water by spraying it onto the mixture from a spray bottle. You will need very little liquid, just so that the grains begin to stick together. Too much water may cause the bomb to dissolve, so proceed with caution.

3. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. The result should be a homogeneous thick mass.

4. Use a measuring spoon to scoop a heaping spoonful of mixture and form into balls. Place them on parchment paper. If you are using an ice mold, fill the shaped indentations with the mixture, pressing it firmly and shaping it.

5. Leave the finished bombs for at least 6 hours so that all the water from the base evaporates.

6. After the effervescent tablets have dried, take a container with a tight-fitting lid and place the finished bombs inside.

DIY scent bombs for the toilet are ready! Bombs thrown into the toilet fizz because of the citric acid they contain, soda and essential oils with antibacterial properties disinfect the plumbing, and after the tablets dissolve, a pleasant smell remains in the toilet for a long time.

How to make toilet bombs with your own hands

The recipe for making bombs is quite simple, and all the necessary ingredients are usually available at home. If not, then you can buy them in almost any store and pharmacy. The costs will be minimal, and the effect will exceed expectations.

Essential oils used in the production of “fizzy drinks” are an excellent flavoring agent and have a positive effect on health, having an antibacterial and tonic effect. Most often, lavender, lemon, mint, eucalyptus, tea tree, rosemary, and fir oils are used for this purpose. They are quite persistent, that is, they can retain the aroma for a long time. But you can use any other essential oil that you like and does not cause allergies.

Recipe No. 1

Ingredients: baking soda - 1 heaped glass, citric acid - 0.5 cups, essential oils - 90 drops (you can take 3 of any kind, 30 drops each), water - by eye.

Additionally you will need: a spray bottle, a measuring spoon, ice molds (for soap or children's molds).

Preparation:

  1. Mix citric acid and baking soda in a bowl. Then add essential oils and mix everything thoroughly.
  2. Pour water into the spray bottle.
  3. Very carefully add water to the composition from a spray bottle so that the citric acid does not react with the soda and the mixture does not turn out to be very liquid. Inject the liquid a little at a time, constantly stirring the resulting mass. The finished mixture should resemble wet sand in consistency, and after squeezing it in your hand you should get a lump.
  4. Place the mixture in special molds, compacting it tightly. Leave the bombs to dry away from a heat source for 6 hours.
  5. Carefully remove them from the molds and place them in a glass bowl or plastic container for storage.

Test the resulting fresheners. Just throw a bomb into the toilet: it will begin to “hiss”, corrode the existing plaque and emit a pleasant aroma. You can put the bomb in the drain tank and after it has completely dissolved there, drain the water.
