What will happen to people if he sees the devil. Why is the devil dreaming about the dream book

What if in a dream you saw a devil? Prepare for trouble, engage in introspection, or wait for happy changes in the future? The dream book will help you find the most accurate interpretation and tell you why such an unusual character is dreaming.

Miller's interpretation

It should be said right away that the image of a devil has an extremely negative meaning. Even his ominous shadow can nullify the positive interpretation of any good dream. And it doesn't matter whether you believe in evil spirits or not, its appearance in a dream is very serious.

Therefore, you should not dismiss a dream in which you happened to see even a small and not at all scary imp. Miller's dream book, for example, advises you to immediately start working on your own character and behavior.

Inner Ego

In addition, the dream book believes that the appearance of a trait symbolizes the inner state of the dreamer himself. This character can personify the most secret sides of character, the existence of which the person himself often does not even suspect.

That is, devils, especially with horns, a tail and all the attributes befitting this mythical creature, are the very fears, negative emotions and feelings that live in a person's heart and are born from time to time.

Therefore, seeing a line in a dream is considered an unfavorable sign from almost any side. Knowing this, it is easy to guess why one dreams of giving birth to a devil in a dream - your own disposition will cause great difficulties.

It is even worse if you dreamed that he was strangling the dreamer. This is a clear sign that the passions raging in the heart will one day prevail over positive motives.

At the same time, it is not difficult to explain why you dream of driving and even killing the devil. You will probably find the strength to cope with the problems of the inner ego.

Who dreamed

When interpreting such an extraordinary dream, the dream book advises taking into account who exactly the devil dreamed about. For example, if a devil appeared to a man, then a modest and quiet dreamer in reality dreams of possessing his strength, confidence and arrogance.

If the devil happened to see a young girl, then she should be careful about new acquaintances. A woman, a devil with horns, who appeared in the form of a respectable man, promises a serious danger. According to the dream book, he personifies a rich man, but evil and insidious.

Moreover, any contact with an unclean person, be it kissing, talking or hugging, in reality guarantees unfavorable situations related to reputation, personal freedom and even a threat to life.

If a young woman falls in love with an imp in a dream, then she will surely fall into a trap set by an experienced suitor. If a devil dreamed of a young man in love, then in reality he will be seduced by a dissolute woman.

Kind of activity

The dream book also advises to remember what exactly the dreamer does in real life. For example, for farmers a red line that runs around the district promises a loss of livestock and crop failure.

For people who have to risk their lives (athletes, hunters, firefighters, etc.) after such a dream, the dream book recommends to exercise maximum caution.

It is extremely bad if a mythical creature strangles in night dreams. For sick people, the imp promises a deterioration in well-being, and for healthy people it guarantees troubles, a breakdown in strength and spirit.

Problem size

The appearance of the character himself speaks of the size of the upcoming changes. Little devils carry minor troubles and troubles. In this light, it is not difficult to guess why the terrible devil with horns is dreaming - all the troubles will be of a grandiose nature.

At the same time, the dream book believes that fighting and even killing evil spirits in a dream is a good omen. In reality, the dreamer will be able to cope with the problems. If you dreamed that in a dream you managed to kill the devil himself, then in the real world you will find complete victory and even triumph.

A good omen

But is it really, everything that the devil is dreaming of is so negative? The dream book has a couple of surprises. For example, to beat the devil in a dream - to victory over enemies and troubles.

And for gamblers and businessmen, the dancing devil guarantees, respectively, a big win and a good deal. And it depends only on the further behavior of a person whether this event will become the beginning of a happy life or a complete collapse.

Vii. ABOUT THE "MIRACLES" OF GOD, "THINGS" DREAMS AND SUPERSTIRIES

Question. There are many cases when people saw ghosts, including dead people, as well as devils, angels, etc. Doesn't this prove that they really exist?

Answer. ... The girl was lying, afraid to move. In the darkness, the outlines of nearby objects appeared - a table and a cabinet. Everything else was hiding in the darkness, blurred with vague frightening visions. Huge fear fell heavily on the child, pressed him to the bed, fogged his mind. The corner behind the stove was especially frightening. The rustling of cockroaches behind the wallpaper echoed loudly in my ears.

"Lord, protect me! I am a sinner." The little man whispered the words of a prayer, and his eyes gazed into the darkness. The girl again and again silently repeated what her aunt had said to her during the day: "Have you sinned? The devil will appear to you."

And he appeared! Exactly as the frightened girl seemed to be: with glowing eyes and small horns, like a neighbor's goat. He appeared in the very corner where she was looking, hesitated for a moment, and suddenly stretched out a black paw towards her.

The girl screamed and lost consciousness ...

Yes, indeed, there are such cases. At all times, in all peoples, they aroused superstitious fear and reinforced their belief in the other world. Meanwhile, they have long ceased to represent a mystery for science, their reasons are well known to psychiatrists. And of course, there is nothing miraculous, supernatural in these phenomena.

Remember how the senses sometimes fail a person. Late in the evening, getting off the suburban train, you are in a hurry to get to the dacha, to find your acquaintances. On the way, you need to go through a small forest. The path is deserted. You involuntarily accelerate your steps, And suddenly there is a man in front. Who is he waiting for?

Thoughts about unkind people rush through my head. Go towards or turn back? You take a few more steps, and the outline of the "man" who was so clearly visible disappears. Before you is just a tree broken by a thunderstorm. What happened?

An unfamiliar place and a late time tuned your thoughts in a certain way, and the human imagination almost unconsciously transforms the obscure outlines of oncoming objects into figures of people and animals. And if you are also a superstitious person, then an ordinary stump can become a devil crouching on the ground for you, and an owl flying low will be transformed into unknown evil spirits.

Everyone has met with such a deception. These are illusions, in other words, a distorted perception of reality. Illusions arise from self-hypnosis.

We "tune" our thoughts in a certain direction, we begin, for example, to think about the thieves, that they have climbed into the house - and then any object, even remotely resembling a person, can be mistaken for a burglar. Our imagination draws on an obscurely visible object the features of who or what we think about, what we are afraid to see.

Illusions are the most harmless representatives of the "world of ghosts". The situation is more complicated in those cases, one of which we talked about at the very beginning. It was a hallucination. How is it different from an illusion?

If illusions can and do occur in any person, then with hallucinations we most often encounter a painful psyche. In rare cases, they are observed in healthy people, but with severe overwork of the nervous system. Often hallucinations appear in alcoholics and drug addicts, people who poison themselves with drugs.

Hallucinations are called waking dreams. Studying hallucinations, scientists have found that they occur when in the cerebral cortex the processes of excitation of cells sharply prevail over the processes of inhibition. So, for example, a tendency to hallucinations can develop under the influence of strong nervous experiences - feelings of fear, melancholy, obsessive thoughts, etc.

It is not uncommon for deeply religious people to hallucinate. Endless exhausting prayers, fasts, incessant self-flagellation - thoughts of "sinfulness", "hellish torments" and "salvation" - all this leads to the fact that a person becomes nervous, and with illness comes "visions" - hallucinations. “My mood was depressed,” recalls one of such unfortunate people, M. Nikolaenkova, “in order to atone for imaginary sins, I starved myself for two or three days, brought my body to a state of dystrophy. My health deteriorated every day. to the fact that I began to appear hallucinations ".

Only medical intervention and long-term treatment in the hospital saved her from a serious mental illness.

As with dreams, with hallucinations, control of consciousness is incomplete or absent altogether. Therefore, the images and pictures that are born in a diseased brain are often intertwined with each other in the most ridiculous, fabulous way. And if a person believes in the other world, he can [see the devil, and the angels, and the brownie. In consciousness, excited by all kinds of mystical stories, traces of past irritations come to life quite easily. It is they who are formed into the images of all kinds of ghosts. Driven to a religious frenzy, morally and physically weakened, a person can see directly in front of him the face of the Mother of God or the saint he reveres as he saw him on the icons. This image appears so clearly before a person that he refuses to believe that this ghost exists only in his befogged mind. He is convinced that he has come face to face with the other world. Meanwhile, the only thing that follows from this is the need to go to the doctor and start serious treatment.

The appearance of hallucinations is often prepared by the same suggestion and self-hypnosis. It was in this way that the painfully impressionable girl developed a hallucination of the devil. This case is described in the famous book "Notes of a Psychiatrist". Its author, L. A. Bogdanovich, tells about a woman who suffered from a serious nervous illness. During her childhood, she was oppressed by the religious atmosphere; in family. Exhausting prayers, church services, intimidation with hell - all this led her in the end to a nervous illness. She listened with fear to the stories of the pious aunt about Satan. Gradually, a vivid image of the devil formed in her mind. She imagined him as clearly as if she saw in front of her. Every night rustle began to frighten her. One day, her aunt, recognizing by her frightened face that the girl had "sinned," ominously threatened: "Behold, the devil will appear to you." At night, this thought began to haunt the girl relentlessly. And the "devil" appeared. Exactly the way she created it in her imagination.

The given example convincingly testifies that, as in dreams, the images of hallucinations are usually created by the stock of those impressions that are stored by the person's consciousness. He believes in the devil, is afraid of him, thinks about him - and if a person gets sick, he can "appear unclean" - in the form in which he imagines him. In the same way, images of his relatives and friends who have already died may appear in front of a sick person. These images can be as vivid, "alive" as those that we sometimes see in a dream (although, upon waking up, we are not surprised that we saw dead people). According to the stories of mentally ill people who believe in God, they not only saw the Mother of God, saints, angels, but also heard their voices. The Quran tells that Muhammad talked with the archangel Jebrail. Jeanne d "Arcs heard the voice of God, ordering her to go to save her homeland from the British. All these cases, if they were not fiction and took place in reality, were nothing more than auditory hallucinations of nervous people.

Many of you have encountered the simplest type of hallucinations of this kind. Remember: you are expecting a guest, and he is not and is not. Everyone who is waiting for him starts to get nervous, listen to if the bell will ring, if there will be a knock on the door. And now one of those who are waiting nervously shudders and says: "Call!" - "Yes, yes, I heard too!" - confirms another.

You rush to the door, but there is no one behind it. Was there a call? No, it was not. It was an auditory hallucination. “So it seemed,” we calmly notice in such cases.

Hallucinations of touch are also known: a person can clearly feel someone's touch when he was not there. And here we are faced with a deception of the senses.

There are even more amazing hallucinations. Scientists once conducted such an experiment. At one of the classes at the institute, several drops of a dark liquid were poured onto cotton wool in front of the students, warning that the liquid had a very pungent, unpleasant "smell, they asked to say when they felt it. After a short time, several hands rose in the front rows. The smell spread further and further. in the audience, and some of the students in front even felt unwell.

Imagine the surprise of the students when, after the end of the experiment, they were told: "There was no smell! You were waiting for it tensely, sniffing, and you developed an instilled massive olfactory hallucination."

There are also known reliable, detailed cases of mass visual hallucinations in history. "Collective, or mass, hallucinations," writes the famous Russian psychiatrist V. M. Bekhterev, __

I am one of the most interesting phenomena. In almost every family chronicle, one can hear stories about the vision of deceased relatives by a whole group of people. "

Finally, exactly the same nature of visions at sectarian prayers. Hallucinations, which first appear in one person who has been driven to insanity, are then transmitted to others.

The most convincing refutation of the supernaturalness of hallucinations is the fact that they can be artificially induced.

While studying the conditions and causes of the appearance of ghosts, one English medical researcher caused hallucinations by retiring in a separate room and trying to eliminate all external impressions. She gazed intently at the surface of some dimly shiny object, such as a crystal or mirror. This tired her brain, and images of hallucinations emerged against the background of the twilight consciousness.

Other researchers used various drugs to make themselves half asleep. At the same time, they also had hallucinations. It is well known what vivid visions are caused by the use of drugs such as hashish, opium, mescaline. Since the Middle Ages, the so-called "witch ointment" has been known, consisting of poisonous, intoxicating substances. Rubbing such an ointment into the skin, a person falls into a state of hallucination. The Mexican Indians have long known as a strong drug the juice of one of the cacti - peyote. This juice causes exceptionally vivid and bizarre hallucinations, both visual and auditory.

The reason for artificially induced hallucinations is the same as for ordinary hallucinations. After all, hallucinations, as you already know, are generated by a disorder in the work of certain parts of the brain. Therefore, acting on the brain with means that artificially cause disruption of its work, we can lead a person to hallucinations (of course, such experiments are dangerous, they can be performed only under the supervision of a specialist doctor!).

It is interesting that the "evil spirits" often generated by fear and self-hypnosis can be "driven away" by the opposite self-suggestion. To do this, you need to convince yourself that you see only a ghost created by your own imagination. A believer resorts to such a suggestion when he, seeing something "devilish", crosses himself and whispers prayers. At the same time, he believes that the ghost will not stand before the cross. Sometimes such self-hypnosis works - the hallucination stops.

A funny situation arises; first, a superstitious person, by self-hypnosis, causes a hallucination in himself, and then with the same suggestion he drives it away from himself! In either case, his consciousness is guided by blind faith in a contrived other world.

Delirium tremens - alcoholic delirium, or, as the people affectionately call it, "squirrel" - is an acute mental disorder associated with excessive alcohol consumption.

Delirium tremens is a consequence of “professional hobby for alcohol, but it always occurs only on a sober head, 3-4 days after coming out of a long binge. It is the most common type of alcohol-related mental disorder, accounting for up to 80 percent of cases.

The cause of delirium tremens is toxic brain damage. Such problems most often occur in men who are 7-10 years old who systematically abuse alcohol. Why do they occur during recovery from a binge? Because there is abstinence, a kind of alcoholic "withdrawal". Sometimes psychosis can be triggered by a traumatic brain injury or a severe infection from an alcoholic. The mechanism is still the same - oxygen starvation of the brain plus poisoning with a whole cocktail of toxins.

Against the background of acute abstinence that occurs during this period, the patient develops headaches, vomiting, impaired speech and coordination, trembling of the limbs, and the temperature rises. Soon, an inexplicable feeling of depression and anxiety is added to these symptoms, sometimes turning into panic fear. The onset of insomnia adds suffering to the patient. Soon he begins to hear frightening sounds and strange speech, mixed with visual hallucinations: the patient sees scenes from horror films familiar to him, insects, small animals, which, as it seems to him, crawl over his body, penetrate his mouth and ears.

Devils get over

However, the most common characters in painful visions of people suffering from delirium tremens are devils. Even in Kievan Rus, the expression “to drink to the devil” was used. In the chronicles of the 15th century Danilov Monastery, a curious fact is mentioned: several monks, after excessive consumption of intoxicating drinks, began to “drive the horned ones around the refectory. By order of the abbot, the violators of the monastic order were immediately tied up and placed in a cold basement for re-education.

Some researchers believe that Ivan IV suffered a series of attacks of delirium tremens, during which the autocrat, as the court chroniclers assure, "fought off the invisible devils, as if from the fire of hell."
For centuries, Western spirits have also known the devils. One of the English legends tells of the jester of King Arthur, who entertained the noble knights with themes. that after a long feast he had the habit of running through the rooms of the castle and crushing the furry and tailed creatures with goat's horns, which were tangled under his feet ...

"Devils drunkards" figure not only among peoples traditionally related to Christian culture. In particular, it is known that before the arrival of Europeans in America, Indian tribes did not know alcohol, but used light drug addicts that relieve stress, promote the expansion of consciousness and were used during religious rituals. The use of psychotropic substances of plant origin did not give frightening visions, only caused colorful superficial dreams on the verge of reality. However, after acquaintance with traditional European alcoholic beverages, the concept of "invisible furry spirit" became firmly established in the everyday life of various American tribes, which prevailed over the Indians, who were weakened from immoderate libations.

In the thirties of the last century, Soviet doctors, who arrived en masse in the regions of the Far North, were surprised by the stories of Chuchkas, Evenks, Khanty and Mansi, who had suffered bouts of alcoholic psychosis, about horned animals that harassed them during illness. By that time, these northern peoples were already familiar with the primordially Russian drink - vodka, for which, before the revolution, they had exchanged furs with merchants for decades. According to the descriptions of the patients, the frightening entities were very similar to traditional devils, although there are no such characters in the pagan pantheon of northern peoples.

Extramaterial causes

Back in the 50s of the last century, an American psychic, chemist by training, Richard Flyme suggested that the frightening visions of alcoholics during attacks of delirium tremens are not so much pathogenic as extra-maternal in nature. He was pushed to this conclusion by the works of medieval Western theologians, as well as Indian Vedic treatises, according to which certain human vices (which at all times included drunkenness) are formed and supported by a certain evil spirit or demon. R. Flaim established: despite the fact that every alcoholic drink (whiskey, cognac, wine, beer, etc.) has its own chemical formula and has a strictly defined effect on the body, including the human mind, everyone has a strong the visions of drinking people are the same.

Devils came to each of them at least once. He stated this during an interview given in 1958 to the Chicago radio station. At the same time, R. Flaim reported that he was able to notice some dark (in the literal sense of the word) entities next to people possessed by attacks of delirium tremens, while the others who were present at this did not observe anything frightening.

Already in the mid-nineties of the XX century, the Chelyabinsk psychiatrist Nikolai Pravdin, who discovered in himself after a serious car accident para-psychological abilities, at one of the conferences of psychiatrists held in Yekaterinburg, made a report in which he stated: alcohol not only destroys the human body ... Ethyl alcohol, contained in strong drinks, carries a strong negative energy, which thinns the human etheric field, breaks his structural lattice.

In addition, alcohol changes the frequency of electrical impulses and, accordingly, oscillations in the nerve cells, which makes it possible for the human eye, under certain conditions, to see what it normally cannot perceive. In particular, creatures from parallel worlds who, like vampires, surround the drunkard, devoid of a protective energy field, and devour the emanations of his mental and astral bodies ...

History

"My former classmate Olya's mother was sick with schizophrenia. From time to time she was taken to a psychiatric clinic, treated and released home. Then Olya's mother was paralyzed, and for the last two years before her death she lay at home, bedridden. Olya and Olya's older sister looked after her. Lida, who also lived in this apartment with her alcoholic husband, who occasionally drank to the point of delirium tremens.

Once Lida's husband once again caught a "squirrel" and suddenly huddled into a corner, and began to say that people, about 40 people, were crawling out from under the floor, and at the same time one of them with a pork nickle, and the other with a fiery red muzzle. The alcoholic spoke all this in a whisper, huddled in panic fear into the narrow gap between the refrigerator and the wall in the kitchen.

At this very time, the paralyzed mother of Olya and Lida began to call her daughters. When the girls entered her room, she asked what strangers were doing in their apartment, a lot, about 30-40 people. And beside her bed, her mother pointed out (“Here they are!”) There are two: one with a pork nickel and the other with a red muzzle.
Olga's apartment is large, three-room. Mother was lying in the back room behind a closed door and could not hear what the alcoholic-son-in-law was whispering in the kitchen. "

Story by the brilliant Vladimir Nabokov "In memory of LI Shigaev" (thirties, Paris).

His description of devils is the most vivid in world literature. I am pleased to cite an excerpt from this story, which deals, among other things, with the visions of an alcoholic. However, I will clarify right away: the fact that these are visions of an alcoholic does not make them outside the framework of paranormal phenomena. For some reason, hallucinations of sick people are not considered an abnormal phenomenon by anyone. I will undertake to prove the opposite.

"Through prolonged, stubborn, lonely drunkenness, I brought myself to the most vulgar visions, namely to the most that neither is Russian hallucinations: I began to see devils. I saw them every evening, as soon as I left the daytime slumber, in order to disperse the light of my poor lamp. the twilight that filled us. Yes: more clearly than I now see my ever-trembling hand, I saw the notorious newcomers and in the end I even got used to their presence, since they did not really climb up to me. They were small, but rather fat, the size of a grown toad, peaceful, lethargic, black, in pimples. They crawled more than walked, but for all their feigned clumsiness they were elusive. surprisingly escaped the blow: I again with a whip ... One of them, the closest, just blinked, closed his eyes crookedly, like a tense dog, which they want to tear away with a threat from some seductive dirty trick; others, dragging the back paws, spread ...

But they all slowly gathered together again as I wiped spilled ink off the table and lifted the fallen portrait. Generally speaking, they were most common around my table; appeared from somewhere below and, slowly, with sticky stomachs rustling and smacking, climbed - with some kind of caricature-sailor tricks - along the legs of the table, which I tried to smear with Vaseline, but it did not help at all, and only when I , it happened, I take a liking to such an appetizing bastard, concentratedly climbing up, but grabbing it with a whip or a boot, he plopped on the floor with a thick toad sound, and in a minute, lo and behold, he was already reaching from another corner, sticking out his purple tongue from zeal, - and, behold, passed and joined the comrades. There were many of them, and at first they seemed to me all the same: black, with puffy, but rather good-natured, muzzles, they, in groups of five, six, sat on the table, on papers, on the volume of Pushkin - and looked at me indifferently; another would scratch his foot behind his ear, scraping hard with a long claw, and then froze, forgetting about his leg; another dozed, inconveniently crawling over a neighbor, who, however, did not remain in debt: the mutual inattention of reptiles, who know how to numb in intricate positions. Little by little, I began to distinguish between them and, it seems, even gave them names according to their resemblance to my acquaintances or different animals. There were bigger and smaller ones (although all are quite portable), duller and more decent, with blisters, with tumors and completely smooth ... Some spat at each other ... Once they brought with them a newcomer, albino, that is, a with eyes like chum eggs; he was very sleepy, sour and gradually crawled away. "

I do not presume to judge to what extent the description of devils given by Nabokov is based on hallucinations experienced by him or some of his acquaintances, but clearly something experienced is at the heart of this description. In any case, millions of alcoholics suffering from delirium tremens have seen and are seeing approximately the same. Nabokov is mistaken in one thing: he calls these "glitches" traditionally Russian, although alcoholics see devils not only in Russia, and not only in Belarus, Ukraine and other Slavic countries, but also everywhere in Europe, America, Africa, Asia.

Western European engravings from the Middle Ages depict devils pestering drunkards. These are the same devils as in the drawings of modern patients with delirium tremens and in clinics in Russia, and in clinics in the United States, and in clinics in China. A patient with delirium tremens is in the overwhelming majority of cases devils. This is the law, this is the fact. And until now science has not explained this fact in any way. The devil is a folkloric creature. And it got into folklore (and into the idea of hell) precisely from the hallucinations of alcoholics.

One, with an agreeable character, are sluggish, small devils - as in the description of Nabokov. Others, people who are cruel and aggressive, are two-meter-tall devils eager to strangle, kill - from these hallucinations such alcoholics turn gray in a couple of days.

In all hallucinations, the traits are the same (like a functioning organism) and are a cross between a human and a goat. Strange, but doctors in clinics are not surprised by the similarity of devils in these hallucinations. In the USSR, they gave this explanation: they say, everyone read Pushkin and saw illustrations for his fairy tale about Balda, hence the image of a devil appears in every alcoholic. In fact, not every alcoholic has read Pushkin's fairy tales (in which, I note, nothing is said about alcoholism), and this assumption is completely ridiculous in relation to alcoholics of the 19th century, the bulk of whom have never seen a single book in their lives.

Among scientists there was also the opinion that the appearance of devils as the main characters in the hallucinations of alcoholics is explained by the specific destructive influence of alcoholism on the brain. Drug addicts do not see devils, they receive larger-scale "glitches". And in this case, as some scientists believed, devils became a special reaction of the brain to an excess of alcohol. This opinion seems superficial, too general. Intoxication is caused not by alcohol itself, but by its compounds, which are different for different alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic intoxication has a completely different character when using cognac, vodka, wine, beer, moonshine and others. All of these drinks have different chemical formulas, hence the different effects. But the devils are everyone: both those who drink cognac and those who drink moonshine. But something else is more confusing. The main difference between the hallucinations of drug addicts (LSD) and the devils of delirium tremens has been overlooked or overlooked by the medical profession. The first have hallucinations, in fact, a dream of consciousness, they are disconnected from reality; this dream, like any dream, is individual, everyone has their own and always new. They fall asleep and sleep. But patients with delirium tremens have no disconnection from reality, they are fully conscious.

But always and constantly devils wedge themselves into reality. Nabokov, judging by his story, wrote his things, brushing devils off the table. But everything else was absolutely normal, real. In fact, delirium tremens is only one thing: the appearance of devils in everyday life, which, except for an alcoholic, no one sees. It's a riddle, an unsolved riddle. Science is silent here, because it cannot say anything yet, it only collects facts, although this is terribly interesting for specialists, they told me about this. But in the press, in society, this riddle does not interest anyone. Alcoholics are too disgusting to study their hallucinations with an open mind. Therefore, for society and for that part of it that is interested in paranormal phenomena, this mystery does not exist, as it were. That is, there is some kind of taboo.

Alcoholics are left alone with devils by the fact that they are alone in their visions. Nobody, except them, sees these devils. This, in fact, is not surprising, because everyone has their own devils, with their own character, which, as it is easy to see, is a mirror image of the patient's character. Therefore, ghosts are readily discussed in the press, but devils of fever patients are considered only in narrow medical periodicals, and even then only from the point of view of combating delirium tremens. Nobody thinks about the devilry of alcoholics, although everyone often used to say about himself "got drunk to hell." Not attaching importance to what was said. I think this phrase will take on a different meaning in the mouth of the speaker when he sees the devils himself. I myself have not seen devils. Perhaps he never got drunk like that. But I was not the only one who paid attention to the strange constancy of visions in all patients with delirium tremens.

At various times, attempts were made to photograph or in some other way fix the images of hallucinations. Not sleep in drug addicts, but hallucinations of patients with delirium tremens. In fact, researchers in different countries have tried to photograph the devils. Everything turned out to be unsuccessful, but I cannot pretend to say that it will not be possible to do this with the help of technologies that have appeared in recent years. Unfortunately, due to the society's dislike of alcoholics, such studies are extremely rare and episodic. This article will probably nudge someone to a new attempt to catch devils, although I hardly believe in it, but I want to hope.

I will add, if I had the opportunity, I would certainly develop a new program of such research. And would not be limited to simply analyzing aspects of the problem. However, first I would try to make sure that such an opportunity to shoot the devils exists in theory. But if I came to the conclusion that it is theoretically impossible to do this, then, naturally, in this case I would abandon such attempts.

We saw...

Psychiatrist Gennady Krokhalev in the early 70s tried to prove that hallucinations can be recorded with photographic film. Wearing a diving mask, he replaced the glass with a camera, put this device on the subject, pointing the lens directly into the pupil. He conducted these experiments just with patients with delirium tremens. And in half of them, the film allegedly clearly recorded certain images. But these experiments were not taken seriously by science. Photos, the results of experiments were rejected. Krokhalev proceeded from the premise that hallucinations created in the brain should supposedly inevitably be reflected in their signals in the pathways from the eye to the brain and vice versa. Therefore, they say, you can photograph a hallucination in the pupil of the eye. Science completely rejects this possibility. If this were so, then to the eye of each of us in a dream it would be possible to attach the lens of a video camera and film the dream. Then, waking up, we could watch it again with friends - on the home TV screen. All of this is completely unscientific. The pupil is not a TV.

The approach itself is wrong, perhaps for another reason. Yes, the visions of alcoholics are individual. But as I will show below, "hallucinations" are often massive. Their mechanism is unclear, but it is clear that their generator lies OUTSIDE the brain of a particular person. And it was there that Krokhalev was mistakenly looking for devils. I immediately want to clarify: the meaning of the word "hallucination" I see here is different than its generally accepted meaning. While conditional. Very conditional. The ufological term "fast-flowing unidentified phenomenon" would be more suitable for him, even if ufologists are angry. This, I will say carefully, is a kind of short materialization of thoughts. Thought form, how streamlined and vague it sounds among domestic researchers of the paranormal. Several very typical cases of the manifestation of such thought forms are cited by the journalist and writer I.B. Tsareva in the book "These mysterious animals" ("Olymp Astrel", Moscow, 2000). The author of the book, however, deliberately does not comment on these cases, leaving it to analysts. But the value of the book lies in the fact that it contains hundreds of testimonies of ordinary people faced with the inexplicable: these are mainly letters from readers.

Mother lay in the back room behind a closed door and could not hear what the alcoholic-son-in-law was whispering in the kitchen.

The devil is the most popular character in Russian folklore. In numerous tales and stories, he appears in the usual role for himself and those around him as the sworn enemy of a person who is trying by all means available to evil spirits to prevail over human intelligence.

Battle of aliens from the other world

On the other hand, the devil is the most beloved fairytale hero! Despite the seeming paradoxicality of such a statement, the fact does not require proof that if there were no devils in the world at all, they would certainly have come up with a replacement. To assert the triumph of the human mind over evil spirits without the obligatory "scapegoat" at all times was considered a farce unworthy of the public. And the devil could not be more suitable for the role of "goat": horny, bearded, little tailed. In general, a freak on whom you can blame all the misfortunes.

In those cases when the devil materializes, a creature appears in front of a person that looks more like a nightmare: black, with claws, tail and horns, a wide muzzle, a long nose, or, conversely, with a pig's snout and eyes brightly glowing in the dark.

“Last summer, two of my friends and I were vacationing on the coast of the Sea of Azov,” says Vladimir Novikov, a Muscovite. “For a number of reasons, we didn’t manage to have a civilized holiday, so we had to live for three weeks of vacation, like“ wild ”tourists - in nature.

One evening we settled down for the night on a sandy beach near Mariupol. My friends quickly fell asleep, but I tossed and turned on my uncomfortable bed for a long time. In the end, only having shaken my sides, I lay on my back and tried to fall asleep, counting the stars in the sky. But soon my attention was attracted by two bright points, which were moving at great speed down the sky. Continuing to observe them, I realized that these are not cosmic bodies. The dots in front of my eyes were increasing in size and were about to fall in the immediate vicinity of me!

I did not hear the noise of the unknown bodies falling to the ground. However, five minutes after their supposed landing, it seemed to me that behind the nearest stone ridge, someone squealed thinly and loudly. There was no time for sleep at all!

And behind the stone ridge I suddenly heard frequent snorting, heavy puffing, and, finally, I saw THEM! They were devils, real devils !! With horns, tails and hooves !!! They were clearly visible to me because their fur in the night glowed as if it had been rubbed with phosphorus. With every step the devils approached the place of our lodging. I closed my eyes with horror, opened my mouth to scream and ... could not utter a sound. You know what happens in a dream: they are chasing you, you want to call for help, but for some reason you cannot ...

Continuing to pretend to be asleep, I lifted my eyelids and ... immediately slammed them shut. One of the devils was staring at me. The sight was so impressive and at the same time repulsive that even with my eyes closed I kept in my memory for a long time his incredible image. The monster was about two meters tall, an ugly physique - as if a huge black horned goat was rearing up - and with a piercing mad gaze of large and round eyes of bright yellow color. When after a while I opened my eyes again, I saw that both features were already looking at me and my sleeping friends.

I don’t know how long this exchange of glances lasted. I only remember that while we were looking at each other, I asked myself an idiotic question: why doesn't they stink - like in most fairy tales - of gray?

I did not have time to answer it: one of the devils bent down, lifted a weighty cobblestone by thirty kilograms from the ground and, holding it like a feather in his hand or paw, took a step towards me. I realized that now the end would come to me, but, I repeat, I could not flee: all my limbs were paralyzed. I closed my eyes, saying goodbye to life, and ... in the next instant I heard the noise of a struggle!

Opening my eyes again, I saw that the devils were fighting! The fight was terrible: one of the devils beat the other with the very cobblestone that was intended for me. The air was quickly filled with their inhuman screams and real pig screeching. I suddenly felt that I could already control my body, and tried to push my comrades aside. But neither my cuffs, nor the heart-rending cries of the fighting monsters could wake them up. What it was connected with, I still cannot understand. How can I not understand the other: why one of the night monsters decided to intercede for me?

The fight between the devils ended as unexpectedly as it began. They quickly jumped up from the ground, shook themselves off, like dogs, all over their bodies and ... I missed the moment of their disappearance, squeezing my eyes from the first rays of the rising sun.

In the morning I told my friends about my nocturnal adventure and showed them a broken horn with caked blood and a large clump of fur - all that I found at the site of the night fight of devils. In response, my friends laughed at me.

Offended, I did not tell them about the most important thing. That the clump of damn wool continued to glow in the dark! Returning home from vacation, I gave a few hairs to a familiar expert from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He, having passed them through a dozen spectrometers and other "smart" devices (I know little about them), expressed himself unequivocally: the hairs belong to a hominoid unknown to science, the hair of which is partially similar to the hair of the so-called "Bigfoot". As for the glow of the wool, here he did not say anything concrete, specifying only that he did not find phosphorus in the wool.

Now my mysterious finds are being dealt with in one closed research institute. "

The secret of the shaturskiy pond

The family life is not alien to the devils, but since there are no females among them, they marry, as soon as they turn thirty, with witches, strangled women or drowned women.

With just-born devils, adult devils treat quite unceremoniously. On dark nights, they sneak up to the house, where there is an unbaptized baby or a mother-cursed baby and make a substitution. Changelings (devils) are generally "skinny and extremely ugly." They constantly scream and eat a lot. Their head is prohibitively large and hangs to the side. Two years later, they disappear in a strange way.

Many people know the expression: "In a still pool, devils are found." And they really are found there! These are the little devils whom the adult devils carry to the whirlpools from the houses. Here the descendants of evil spirits live up to seven years.

... This pond was dug on the outskirts of the Shatursky forest with the help of a caterpillar excavator by summer residents, to whom the Moscow region authorities allocated 600 plots here, in an absolutely uninhabited place. A pit was dug at the place where dowsers found underground keys. At the new pond there were 13 of them: seven were located on one side and six on the other.

Ten years have passed since then, and the history of the pond has acquired numerous secrets and riddles. One of them is a green fog that envelops the pond on quiet moonlit nights, and at this time eerie screams and sobs are heard from under the water.

Locals do not swim in this pond now: they are afraid. Not a year goes by without someone drowning in it and, what is especially strange: in the area of seven springs. Moreover, only young men and men drown, while children and women survive incredibly.

A year ago, in mid-July, a girl was swimming in a pond with a large inflatable ball. She splashed quite close to the shore, when suddenly a funnel appeared in the middle of the reservoir, and the child began to pull up to seven springs.

The forces of the elements and the child were unequal, the whirlpool pulled her to the black spot, snatched the ball and ... again threw her to the shore, where the poor girl was picked up by the running adults. The ball spun in a whirlpool, froze, then two shaggy hands rose out of the water and dragged it to the bottom.

Rescuers do not believe in stories about the creature living at the bottom of the reservoir, but, nevertheless, they are not eager to go down there once again.

Naturally, the anomalies and devilry that are happening on the cursed pond attract the attention of all kinds of adventure lovers to it. So, immediately after the incident with the girl, a certain Eugene appeared in the dacha village, introducing himself as a metropolitan researcher of the paranormal. For several nights in a row, he watched an unknown creature in the thickets by the pond, until, finally, one morning, summer residents found him lying unconscious on the shore.

Recovering in a few hours, Eugene told the audience an absolutely incredible story. Immediately after midnight, the surface of the pond, according to him, boiled violently, and then a creature on four legs climbed onto the shore. It was about the size of a large dog. The creature shook itself off the water, stood on its hind limbs and headed just in the direction where Eugene was sitting in the thickets. At this time, the moon came out from behind the clouds, and in its ghostly light, Eugene saw that a real devil was moving right at him! With a tail, horns and eyes glowing in the dark.

Why do alcoholics see devils during delirium tremens? Among doctors, fever is called " alcoholic delirium“, It manifests itself against the background of alcohol withdrawal after prolonged use. Usually it occurs at the II-III stages of alcoholism, when the body's resources are already seriously depleted, and alcohol consumption takes on the character of hard drinking.

Curiously, if earlier, before the development of delirium tremens, it was necessary to constantly abuse alcohol for 10-15 years, now typical mental disorders can occur in five years. Apparently, this indicates both the insufficient quality of alcoholic beverages and the general weakening of the population's health.

Delirium tremens causes visual hallucinations, often accompanied by anxiety. The most common people with delirium tremens see devils. Have you ever thought about the expression "get drunk"? But it appeared in Ancient Russia and still has not lost its relevance. They wrote that even Ivan IV, during attacks of delirium tremens, "fought off invisible devils, as if from hellish fire."

Alcoholics all over the world see the devil!

Interestingly, the vision of devils is typical for alcoholics almost all over the world. The strangest thing is that "drunken devils" began to see peoples who had never previously consumed alcohol. For example, before the appearance of Europeans, American Indians simply did not know alcohol, and when they did, they also began to suffer from an "invisible furry friend." The peoples of the Far North (Chukchi, Evenki, Khanty and Mansi) began to see terrible horned animals, when merchants began to drink them with vodka in order to buy furs from them for a penny.

Mysterious is the fact that neither the Indians nor the northern peoples have such characters as devils in folklore ... It turns out that they could not extract such an image from the "bins" of their brains, so why do they see them ?!

Can alcoholics open up some kind of dimension invisible to ordinary people?

No matter how ridiculous it may seem, it has already been physically proven that there are at least 7 dimensions. Why did all people with squirrel syndrome see the devils? Are there two-headed monsters, etc., namely devils with horns? We all have one diagnosis! Alcoholics talk to them, and the devils speak quite intelligently, suggesting that they do something bad: burn down the house, hang themselves, play cards for something. Believe me, all this is not for nothing.
