A variety of wall panels for interior decoration: features, photos. Internal wall panels: advantages and types Wall decoration with decorative panels

Nowadays, it is fashionable and modern to make wall decoration with PVC panels, which are made of polyvinyl chloride in the form of wide strips for cladding ordinary walls.

They are light in weight, practical to use and will be a great decoration for any room for a long time.

For the correct installation of the panels and their content in the future, it is worth knowing some details.

Pros and cons of PVC panels

PVC panels or plastic panels in common people have a number of positive properties. Due to this, they are in great demand in repair and construction work.

Experts prefer PVC panels for the following advantages:

  • they do not contain harmful chemical elements, which means there are no toxic fumes, which allows them to be used for living rooms;
  • have a beautiful facade, thanks to a huge assortment of different colors and patterns, which is an adornment of any wall surface;
  • over them you can apply paint, glue fabric materials or special images;
  • are heat-insulating material, since they consist of cells;
  • modular panels are made very precisely, as a result of which finishing works on large-scale surfaces are carried out quickly;

  • they are easily attached to the ceiling in any direction: vertical, horizontal or diagonal;
  • frost-resistant, therefore it is used for finishing balconies;
  • ideally matches fittings: sockets, switches, ventilation, etc.;
  • suitable for damp rooms as wall and ceiling decoration for pools, showers, bathrooms, etc .;
  • for decorating walls with decorative panels, their preliminary revision is not required;
  • it washes well, the seams are practically invisible and dirt does not clog in them, therefore, this is a great option for the kitchen

But besides the advantages, plastic panels also have disadvantages:

  • a lot of time is spent on the installation of a flat lathing for the installation of cladding panels;
  • in the processing of panels, a certain tool is used that requires diligence and attention;
  • being an artificial material, the panels do not breathe, therefore they are not recommended for use in bedrooms and similar rooms;
  • surface glare can irritate the eye;
  • burns poorly, but in case of fire it can release toxins during melting, therefore, it is prohibited by fire safety requirements to use in corridors or passageways during evacuation

Varieties of plastic panels

There are a lot of differences between the panels, but basically they are distinguished by the method of decoration of the facade of the panel and by the dimensions of the modules.

In terms of dimensions, the panels are divided into subspecies:

  • lining. It looks like a long rectangular sheet. The panel consists of 2 plates with partitions and empty grooves between them. The length varies from 3 to 12 m, and the width is from 100 to 500 mm, with a thickness of 8 to 12 mm. It is used in the decoration of walls and ceiling surfaces. Attached to a pre-prepared crate.
  • panel. It differs from the previous subspecies in size. The length is 1220 mm, the width is 2440 mm, the thickness is 3.2 mm. The facade looks like a tile surface.
  • tile. It is produced in the form of a square 30 x 30 cm or 100 x 100 cm.

The methods of applying the facade pattern of the panels are as follows:

Thermal transfer of the picture. Special thermal films are applied to the panel and fixed with varnish to protect against various types of damage. These panels have long lasting bright colors and can be matched to different styles and interiors.

Offset print of the picture. With a special roller in the form of an imprint used in printing houses, an offset print is applied to the facade of the panel and fixed with a two-layer varnish coating.

Lamination. The quality of the drawing is excellent. Thanks to a certain film, for which a special glue is used, the drawing looks volumetric and textured.

Due to lamination, the panels become more moisture resistant and less vapor permeable. Of the entire range, they are the longest used.

There are three options for the types of butt joint of the panel:

  • Seamless. The most popular of all, are produced in widths of 20, 25, 30 and 33 cm. They have a perfectly smooth appearance, but in quality they are inferior to stretch ceilings in terms of barely noticeable connecting seams. The ideality of joining the seams must be checked even in the store before buying. The lathing should also be done with high quality.
  • Embossed. They have a relief connection of modules, they are used for unstable surfaces such as house shrinkage. Available in width: 10; 12.5; 15; twenty; 25; 33 cm.
  • With rust. These panels are similar to the first and second options, but the grooves at the ends of the panels are replaced with chamfers.

Rules for choosing PVC panels

In order not to get confused among the huge selection of plastic panels, when buying in a store, pay attention to the following factors:

  • No damage to the facade in the form of scratches, defects, stains, etc.
  • The thicker the facade sheet and the more stiffening ribs, the heavier, stronger and better the PVC panel.
  • The side edges of the panels should be straight without bends, as the overall appearance depends on this. It is not recommended to use PVC panels in public places.
  • Stiffeners should not be visible on the front side.
  • The joints of the panels must be tight and reliable, practically invisible in seamless panels.

  • The drawing must be clear.
  • Quality is expensive. Low priced panels can release toxins and cause allergies.
  • Give preference to trusted manufacturers.
  • Bend the sheet by 30-50 percent and check the place of bending, if there are no traces left, you can take it.
  • Remember: ceiling-mounted ones have lower strength than wall-mounted ones. The length of the ceiling is 6 or 12 m, and the length of the wall is 2.7; 3; 6 m.

  • The thickness of the ceiling panels is less than the wall panels (from 10 mm).
  • It is difficult to decide among the variety of color solutions, in this case, opt for white. Bright colors can get boring quickly.
  • Panels with images need to be purchased with a margin, taking into account the alignment of images.
  • The quality of the material does not depend on the finish of the facade layer.

Technological process of installation of wall panels

The method of installation of plastic wall panels depends on many nuances: quality, weight, purpose, etc.

Each method has its own characteristics, but they are united by the choice of tools and the purchase of additional parts.

Take care of the availability in advance:

  • a fine-toothed circular saw or an electric jigsaw, but it is better to choose a saw for a smooth cut.
  • a construction stapler to fix the panel to the wood purlins.
  • a mallet made of rubber, in case of unforeseen dismantling, so as not to deform the profile.
  • plastering trowel for bending the last profile when installing the final panel.

  • electric screwdriver for fastening;
  • level to control the evenness of the surfaces of the battens and panels.
  • electric drill for drilling holes for fasteners.
  • Profiles: start, finish, external corner, internal corner and docking.

The order of work can be viewed in detail from the photo and video materials of wall decoration with panels.

Wall decoration with panels: 9 options for inexpensive but successful decor

One of the main issues of any renovation is the choice of a suitable type of wall cladding in an apartment: a lot of ideas can come to mind - from wallpaper and paint to decorative plaster or stone cladding. But most of them require painstaking surface preparation for finishing work, are quite expensive and take a long time to install.

If such nuances discourage you from ennobling your apartment, then maybe wall decoration with panels is exactly what you were looking for?

The main advantages of wall panels

The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to wall panels is a huge assortment of this finishing material. You can find products with any texture and color.

Among the advantages, I want to note the following:

  1. No need to prepare the base wall in advance. Interior wall panels by themselves will provide a perfectly flat surface, so you won't need plaster.
  2. Improving the performance of sound and heat insulation in the room.
  3. The ability to conveniently and discreetly hide communications (pipes or wiring) under the panels.
  4. Affordable cost, not hitting too hard on the family budget.
  5. Easy to install, greatly reducing the time spent on wall decoration.

In addition, decorative wall panels are quite strong, reliable and durable material. So the products can be considered a good investment.

Material classification

To satisfy the wishes of as many people as possible, wall panels are produced from various materials with different patterns and prints, colors and textures. They can be of various shapes, sizes and properties.

By size and shape

I can distinguish 3 types of decorative panels, which differ in their characteristics:

  1. Type-setting rack and pinion. Many, due to their external similarity, call them "clapboard", even if this is not correct. Sizes range from:
  • width - 10-30 cm;
  • length - 250-600 cm;
  • thickness - 8-25 mm.

As you can see, the length of some models of slatted panels is quite enough for vertical installation in small rooms.

Rack and pinion models are equipped with a thorn-groove fastening system, which greatly facilitates the do-it-yourself installation process.

  1. Square (tiled). They are tiles with different patterns and colors, as well as sizes. They are mounted in the same way as the slatted panels.

  1. Leafy. Outwardly, they are very similar to hardboard layers with a wide range of sizes from 122x244 cm to 260x490 cm. The thickness of the sheets varies from 3 to 6 mm.

If the walls in the room are flat enough, then the cladding panels can be glued directly onto them. Otherwise, one cannot do without crate.

According to the level of moisture resistance

The material from which the panels are made directly affects their resistance to high humidity. So when thinking about the type of finish for a bath or kitchen, you should clearly distinguish between them.

Moisture resistant panels have the following subspecies:

  1. Made of natural wood, opened with wax or other special coating.
  2. Made from cheaper materials, but finished with laminated film.
  3. Plastic decorative panels.

Moisture-resistant materials include chipboard, MDF or fiberboard panels, as well as non-laminated models.

Ideas for decorating walls with panels

I would like to dwell on the features of the panels in more detail. After all, the material from which the material is created not only affects the aesthetic component, but also imposes some restrictions on the scope of their application.

Option 1. MDF panels

Decorative panels for interior wall decoration from MDF are made from wood waste, using the hot pressing method. This makes it possible to exclude toxic phenol and epoxy resin from the composition of the material.

The absolute safety of products allows them to be used for decorating not only a kitchen, bathroom or living room, but also a children's room. A decorative film with an original pattern or imitation of different textures will allow you to improve the aesthetic appearance of the material.

Laminated panels resist dust and dirt. This, in turn, will greatly simplify the cleaning process. For cleaning it is enough to swipe over the material with a damp sponge.

To mount MDF cloths, auxiliary corners, platbands, strips are used, which are then laminated with a similar film and correspond to a single style direction.

Option 2. Based on fibreboard

Regardless of its shape (rack, sheet or tile), fiberboard finishing panels are made from wood fibers by hot pressing. They are slightly thicker and heavier than MDF models, but in terms of characteristics they are slightly inferior to them. But the affordable price and assortment of textures completely cover the shortcomings of fiberboard.

Despite the fact that such a finish is quite environmentally friendly, it cannot be used in all rooms. So for the bedroom and kitchen it is worth choosing a different material.

Option 3. Based on particle boards

They are made according to the same scheme as fiberboard, only shavings and sawdust are used as the main material. Due to the presence of binders in the composition, chipboard is considered an environmentally friendly material. They are susceptible to moisture, which is why they are not used to decorate a bath, kitchen, loggia or balcony, but they can participate in decorating a corridor or hallway.

Option 4. Wooden

Decorative wall panels made of wood look sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing. They will add nobility and prestige to the interior.

Most often, veneers of rosewood, mahogany, walnut, linden or cherry are used for cladding. Natural shades, carving and gilding, mirror inserts help to achieve an additional effect.

Since even the use of special varnish impregnations does not help to improve the waterproofness of the material, it is not used for wall cladding in the kitchen, bathroom or on the balcony. Even in ordinary rooms, to prevent cracking of the panels, it is necessary to maintain a standard humidity level of 60%.

Option 5. Cork

In most cases, cork panels are made in two layers. The lower one consists of pressed cork chips, the upper one is responsible for the decorative component and is made from chips with the addition of pieces of cork oak bark.

The cellular structure of the cork improves the sound and heat insulation characteristics. Such panels are also quite strong, durable, and lightweight. The cork is not affected by fungus and does not attract dust, which makes it easier to care for.

Option 6. Plastic

For interior wall decoration, PVC panels can be successfully used. They are suitable for cladding any type of room due to their excellent characteristics:

  1. Environmental friendliness. Plastic wall panels for interior decoration are absolutely safe for health, the SES rules recommend that they also be used for decoration of schools, medical and sports facilities.
  2. Refractoriness. The ignition temperature of plastic sheets is 370 degrees, while fiberboard or chipboard sheets ignite already at 250. When burning, they emit half as much smoke as their "competitors", besides, do not forget that plastic belongs to self-extinguishing materials.
  3. Moisture resistance. The perfectly flat surface of the panels prevents moisture accumulation on them, and the absence of pores makes the material an unsuitable habitat for microbes and mold.

  1. Ease of installation. Decorating walls with plastic panels is an easy process that can be dealt with without much experience. In case of damage to the structure, the product can be easily replaced with another.
  2. Decorative abilities. The aesthetic appearance of plastic panels makes it an important decorative element. A drawing applied with thermal film can create an imitation of any surface (for example, an imitation of a brick).

Plastic panels can be divided into three groups, differing from each other in some characteristics.

  • Lining. The most popular size is 3mx10 cm. Most often they are produced in white, but there are also color variations. They are a widely used material for the exterior decoration of the house.

  • Panels. The most popular lengths are 260, 270 or 300 cm, the width ranges from 15 to 50 cm, but the most popular size is 25 cm. Products can be dyed, varnished or applied with thermal film.

  • Sheets. PVC sheets, they are also PVC-plates, have a width in the range from 80 to 203 cm and a length of 150-405 cm. The most practical, in my opinion, are foamed PVC sheets, the top layer of which can be smooth and impact-resistant.

Option 7. Bamboo panels

Bamboo panels are one of the variations of wood finishing materials. They are often used for interior decoration in African, ethnic or.

The main characteristics of bamboo materials include light weight, insensitivity to moisture changes and an interesting appearance.

Option 8. Panels 3D

3d wall panels - a covering with a very original volumetric effect. Such a model usually has a three-layer structure of:

  • bases - gypsum with a reinforcing stack, aluminum, MDF, etc .;
  • a relief layer based on gypsum (less common plastic, aluminum, wood);
  • decorative and reinforcing layer used to give the structure greater strength. Most often, enamel or PVC film is used for this purpose, sometimes veneer or leather is found.

If initially 3d panels were created as a framing for walls, now the abundance of their textures, colors and patterns is widely used to decorate floors, niches and even furniture.

You can enhance the volumetric texture of the material with ceiling, wall or floor lamps.

Option 9. Glass

Glass finishing panels are a relatively new addition to the building materials market. They gained popularity due to their resistance to moisture and external influences.

Mounting methods

Despite the fact that all types of wall panels differ in many respects from each other, there are several general methods of fastening that are suitable for a particular material.

  1. Glue. It is used for fastening only in the presence of perfectly flat walls and under the condition of low weight of the panels. The glue is applied to the entire surface of the panel (for MDF and fiberboard in zigzag waves), after which it is applied to the wall.

  1. Bonding to the lathing. I note right away that this is not the most durable fastening method. Therefore, it is worth either abandoning it, or using mechanical elements as an addition.

  1. Self-tapping screws. Such fastening to the crate is used exclusively in rooms with stable temperature and humidity indicators. Despite its reliability, it has its own drawback - self-tapping screws prevent the natural expansion of the panels, which inevitably leads to surface deformation.

  1. Clamps. They fix the panels to the base mechanically. The clamps themselves are attached to the crate with nails, staples or self-tapping screws.

Panel installation example

In this section, as an example, I will tell you how to decorate walls with MDF panels, this will prove that installing this type of cladding will not be difficult.

At the first stage of work, you need to stock up on everything you need:

  • MDF panels (with a margin);
  • wooden for lathing with dimensions of 20x40 mm;
  • additional elements: corners, plinth, clamps, liquid nails.

After that, you can proceed with the installation. First, it is necessary to complete the lathing, which will become the basis for the wall panels. To do this, it is necessary to find the most protruding section of the wall, from which it is worth "dancing".

Using a building level, drill holes at one and the other ends of the wall and insert self-tapping screws into them so that they protrude slightly. Pull the thread between the screws, it will be a guide.

  1. Mark the places where the planks are attached, make sure that the distance between them is at least 40 cm and no more than 60 cm.
  2. Attach the bar to the wall and drill holes on it in 50 cm increments. Note that as soon as the drill reaches the wall, you must remove the bar and only then drill to the end.
  3. Insert the dowels into the holes, install the strip and secure it with self-tapping screws.

We install other strips in the same way. Make sure that the block that is extreme to the floor is as close to it as possible, it will still come in handy for attaching the plinth.

When the crate is ready, it's time to start installing the MDF panels.

  1. The panels should be fixed from the corner of the room, moving from right to left, perpendicular to the installed bars.

  1. At the edge with the ridge, fix the element with self-tapping screws, on the other side, install the clamps using a construction stapler or small nails.
  2. The rest of the panels are mounted in a similar way, each time docking with a comb with a groove.

  1. The last panel on each wall must be cut to size.

  1. After completing the installation of MDF, close the corners of the room with special corners, simply by gluing them to the panel.

Finally

So, to summarize: interior decoration with panels is an inexpensive and convenient way to decorate. They are practical and can easily fit into any interior - from classic to country style. In addition, you can easily hide computer, electrical cables or usbi panels from prying eyes.

You have read about the most interesting and popular options for wall paneling, and by watching the video in this article, you will have the opportunity to clearly see the material. What type of coating did you like the most? Send the answers in the comments to the article.

Among the wide variety of materials used for interior cladding and decorative wall decoration, wall panels are the most popular.

This material makes it possible to create a presentable and original design of wall surfaces. Wall panels have different textures and colors and can be used to decorate walls in rooms for various purposes.

This facing material has excellent performance parameters: manufacturers offer several types of wall panels made of different materials. Among the large assortment, you can easily choose the option that is suitable for the price and design.

Main advantages

The demand for wall panels is largely due to the numerous advantages inherent in this finishing material, including:

Wall panels have only one drawback - they significantly reduce the space of the room and require the installation of a frame - the basis for fixing finishing panels or slabs.

These are the main characteristics of wall panels, regardless of their type.

On a note! It should be borne in mind that each type has its own operating parameters.

Varieties

Interior wall panels vary in size, configuration and materials from which they are made.

According to the configuration, the panels are divided into sheet, lath and slabs resembling in shape.

Rack and pinion

The slats are strips with a length of 2.3-3.5 meters, the width parameter is a maximum of 32 cm, the thickness range is 8-15 mm. It is based on a lining made of natural or synthetic materials. Slatted panels are suitable for use in any room.

They make it possible to advantageously change the space: vertical placement allows you to visually raise the level of the ceiling surface, and horizontal - to make the room wider and longer.

Installation of slats is carried out on a crate made of wood or metal, self-tapping screws and staples are used as fastening elements. The slats are fastened according to the principle of a lock with the installation of inlays.

Leafy

This is one of the most intricate types of panels, which are rectangular sheets up to three meters in size. Typical dimensions: 1200 by 2440 mm, thickness parameter - maximum 6 mm. Sheet panels are used for operational decoration of spacious rooms.

In most cases, they are made from MDF, fiberboard is also the basis.

The outer surface is veneered, due to this, similarity with different surfaces is achieved: brick, leather, stone, wood, cork, plastic.

The sheets are attached exclusively to glue or lathing; they are decorated with moldings in the seams between them.

Materials for manufacturing, installation features of each type of panels

Decorative panels for interior wall decoration are made from both natural and synthetic materials.
According to the material of manufacture, the following types of panels are distinguished:

  • wooden;
  • cork;
  • plastic;
  • bamboo;
  • gypsum vinyl;
  • from MDF, fiberboard and chipboard;
  • with 3d effect.

Competent selection of the optimal type of finishing material depends, first of all, on its operational parameters, as well as on the purpose of the room, for the decoration of which they will be used.

Made of wood

For their creation, real wood is used, mainly hardwood; on sale are maple, birch, oak panels. Decorative cladding is performed by veneering.

To give the products a brighter look, they use multi-colored varnishes, glass and mirror inserts are used as an additional decoration, intricate carvings are used, the panels are covered with gilding. Wooden decorative panels for interior wall decoration differ in color palette, configuration and texture.

Products are produced in panel form, as a bar and lining, as well as a block house.

This material is optimal for interior decoration of premises for various purposes: living rooms, offices, sales areas, it is environmentally friendly and safe to use.

Important! Panels intended for use in high humidity conditions are treated with moisture-repellent compounds and wax.

Installation of wall panels made of wood is carried out on a crate made of a similar material using fasteners.

To create cladding panels, MDF and other materials with similar characteristics are used. Each species has its own characteristics.

Made of MDF

This type of panel is made from wood fiber based boards. Boards are obtained from small wood fractions, to which artificial components are added.

The density is provided by lignin, which is a substance of natural origin, which is one of the constituents of wood. Such panels have a presentable appearance, excellent noise and heat insulation parameters, and uniform structure.

Their surface can be varnished, laminated or decorated with plywood. Such panels, in addition to decorating walls and ceiling surfaces, are also used as partitions for dividing space.

The cladding made of MDF products is undemanding in maintenance; to remove dirt, it is enough to wipe the panels with a damp cloth twice a week.

Fiberboard

Fiberboard products are produced in the form of plates, they are made by the hot method, which involves pressing shavings and other wood waste with the subsequent addition of binders. Such products differ in size and are used for decoration in rooms with good ventilation.

For operation in conditions of high humidity, wall panels with a laminated surface with high strength are more preferable. This finish is practical. Fiberboard products are soft, half or completely hard.

The usual thickness of the fibreboard is 3-24 mm, the dimensions of the fibreboard are 350 by 180 cm.

Installation is carried out in two ways: on the lathing (in this case, nails with an anti-corrosion coating serve as fasteners) and on special glue.

Chipboard

Decorative products for decorating walls made of chipboard are similar in parameters to fiberboard panels, they differ only in the manufacturing method. They are made from wood or plant fibers with the addition of binders.

Chipboard panels are more carefully processed, thereby increasing their resistance to mold and moisture destruction.

Particleboard products do not contain toxic formaldehydes. For additional decoration, veneer or plastic coverings are used. In most cases, pressed shavings panels are used to decorate utility rooms, such as storerooms and corridors.

Chipboard panels are installed in two ways:

  • thorn groove;
  • groove-groove.

For fastening decorative items, a slatted lathing is required; the frame can also be made of beams.

All details of the lathing are located in a parallel plane (both horizontally and vertically) at a distance of 50 cm from one another. Fastening of products is carried out by means of metal clamps.

On a note! If the surface on which the panels will be mounted is flat, there is no need for a crate, installation work is carried out using liquid nails.

Plywood

Plywood products are used for both wall decoration and ceilings. To create such a cladding, sheets are used having a maximum thickness of 5 mm. The degree of moisture resistance of plywood depends on the room in which the panels will be used.

Installation of plywood products is carried out on a base of rails, fixed around the perimeter of the room. The vertical strips are installed at a distance corresponding to the width of the decorative panel. Each sheet is fastened with nails at a distance of 25-26 cm.

Made of plastic

Panel products made of PVC differ in texture, color palette and sizes. The width of the sheets is from 100 to 1200 mm, the length range is 1035-6000 mm, and the thickness is in the range of 4-8 mm.

Plastic vinyl panels are one of the most practical solutions for wall cladding in various premises.

Such PVC products make it possible to reproduce the texture of various materials: brick, stone, wood, fabrics.

Plastic panels have an affordable cost, they are moisture resistant, easy to install, undemanding to maintain (cleaning agents can be used to remove dirt). In addition, they have excellent noise and heat insulation parameters, which makes them suitable for use in bathroom design.

Plastic decorative panels are suitable not only for finishing wall and ceiling surfaces in the kitchen, living room or bedroom, but also for dividing rooms into functional zones.

The main disadvantages of these products are fragility, poor solar exposure and the presence of chemical components in the composition. For the installation of wall plates, wood lathing, nails and glue are used.

Cork and bamboo

Bamboo and cork wall cladding products are used in the design of living and working spaces. This material makes it possible to implement fashionable ideas and modern design ideas in interior design.

The main advantages of these products include:

  • moisture resistance;
  • good heat and sound insulation;
  • resistance to decay;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • resistance to sunlight;
  • the ability to operate at high temperatures;
  • ease of installation;
  • undemanding care.

Cork and bamboo products vary in size; this parameter depends on their shape. The presentable shade palette makes them suitable for a variety of styles.

Installation of panels is carried out after leveling and filling the surfaces, preparatory measures ensure better adhesion of the walls with decorative products used for their finishing.

The finishing panels are attached to the wall surface with special glue. They are fixed docking, and it is very important to avoid volume gaps when fixing them.

From glass

Glass panel products for wall decoration are a novelty in the cladding market. Such panels are unique, which is why they have gained immense popularity.

The advantages of glass panels include resistance to moisture, fire, decay and sun exposure. Glass products are durable, wear-resistant and practical and are successfully used to implement unusual copyright and design ideas.

Glass panels are actively used for decoration and cladding of aprons in the kitchen, corridors, bathrooms, in living rooms for the purpose of space zoning.

Gypsum vinyl

The performance parameters of gypsum vinyl panels are similar to those of drywall products. For their manufacture, vinyl-based plates are used, which increase the strength of the panels, resistance to wear, giving them aesthetic appeal.

Gypsum vinyl panels have an acceptable cost and are often used as partitions dividing space, as well as for decorating windows and doors.

Advice. To ensure the care of products based on gypsum vinyl, it is necessary to periodically clean them with a damp sponge using cleaning agents.

As for the dimensions of gypsum vinyl panels, they are available in two formats: 30x120, 120x250 cm.

Such products are installed due to metal profiles fixed along the perimeter of the wall surfaces. There is a possibility of increasing the heat and sound insulation properties of hyposovinyl panels; for this purpose, heaters are used.

With 3-D effect

Panel products for decorating wall surfaces with a 3D effect appeared relatively recently. Materials like these make it possible to create amazing designs. Panels with a 3d effect are made from the same materials as ordinary ones.

The most popular are gypsum varieties of volumetric panels. They are made from a gypsum mixture, to which thickeners and stabilizing agents are added, which increase the strength of the products and their resistance to deformation.

The advantages of volumetric panels include environmental friendliness, fire resistance, strength, durability, a variety of designs and excellent heat and sound insulation parameters.

Volumetric wall 3d panels for interior decoration are mounted on special glue, fastening is performed on a flawlessly leveled surface.

What are decorative panels for interior wall decoration and their advantages over other materials

Decorative panels for interior decoration have recently become more and more popular. And this is not surprising - a beautiful, inexpensive and practical material, which, moreover, is quite simple to install, could not fail to interest professional finishers and home craftsmen. With all the above advantages, they are also quite easy to clean, and the range of such products on the shelves of hardware stores is quite wide.

Among other things, now there is an opportunity to purchase wall panels for interior decoration from any material: wood, plastic, chipboard or. But why are they called decorative? There are several reasons for this:

  • With their help, you can hide small wall defects;
  • When mounted on a metal profile, it becomes possible to close pipes protruding from the wall;
  • The colors of these products can be either regular patterned, or make up any picture with proper installation.

The areas of application of finishing panels are also different. For interior decoration, outdoor balcony, bathroom or kitchen. But still, first things first. First, you need to understand in more detail what is used for the manufacture of panels for interior wall decoration, along the way, considering the areas of application of products from various materials.

Materials for the manufacture of wall panels for interior finishing works

The production of sheet wall panels for interior finishing works is nowadays put on stream, which has made it possible to significantly reduce their cost. If we talk about availability, then everyone can choose the price category that is convenient for him due to the material from which these products are made. Let's consider what different types of wall panels can be made of. The main materials found on the shelves are:

Well, now we will consider each of these types in more detail, having understood all the positive and negative sides.

Interior wall decoration with wood panels and their positive qualities

It is probably not worth talking about the fact that this is an environmentally friendly material. It is also generally known that it is warm enough and is unlikely to ever lose its relevance. But few people think that wooden wall panels absorb noise very well, which means that the room will become quieter, and the sounds from the apartment will be heard less from the neighbors.

With the assortment that is now presented in hardware stores, it is quite easy to pick up any desired structure. This means that there is a possibility of interior decoration of walls with wooden panels for any species and colors. Of course, this material also has its drawbacks, which, however, are not too significant. And yet it is impossible not to mention them. The main thing is that wood wall panels are afraid of moisture, which means they cannot be used in the bathroom. There are alternatives to solve this problem. For example, in order not to disturb the general style of the room, you can use other materials that are not afraid of moisture. It can be a wood-like wall panel made of PVC.

As for the installation, it is made more often on a metal frame from a profile. And although this also creates some inconveniences, such as a slight decrease in the area of the room, it also makes it possible to hide irregularities and defects in the floors.

Important! Wall decoration with wooden panels can also be done using various adhesive mixtures, provided that the surfaces are sufficiently flat. In this case, the problem of reducing the area of the room disappears.

But the main advantage of this material is its aesthetics. Regardless of the environment, this finish will look great.

Fiberboard and chipboard - what disadvantages can be noted in such materials

If we talk about chipboard, then the main disadvantage, of course, is its weight. Rather heavy chipboard panels for walls are rather inconvenient to install. And although fiberboard products are devoid of this drawback, they have one thing in common - the humidity in the room is destructive for them. And if a single hit of any liquid on a natural wood does not threaten anything (you can just wipe it and forget about it), then, for example, a wall panel made of fiberboard or chipboard can immediately become unusable, since the glue in their composition is not able to hold wet shavings. As a result, the place where the water got into becomes noticeably thicker (a kind of blister appears). And such a thickening can no longer be eliminated by anything.

Interior decoration with MDF wall panels

However, coating materials are quite varied these days and some may provide some protection from water. Among them, the most famous is MDF. 3D panels with this coating look very good. This material is ideal for a nursery or bedroom.

Important advice! When purchasing such material, be sure to familiarize yourself with the certificates of conformity for the goods in the store. A cheap and low-quality decorative MDF panel for walls can have an unpleasant odor and release harmful, toxic substances that you and your children will have to breathe. In this case, health problems are provided.

MDF panels look quite interesting under the brick, creating the illusion of an unplastered wall. Recently, this style of decoration has become quite popular.

Interior decoration with PVC wall panels is the cheapest way

Decorative PVC panels are widely used in interior decoration, not only because of their low cost. Their main advantage is their versatility. After all, such a material is not afraid of moisture and tolerates temperature extremes quite well. Of course, we are not talking about winter weather outside the premises, but a slight increase in high humidity, which can be in the kitchen or bathroom, cannot cause any harm to such panels. In addition, the installation of this material is quite simple. Even home craftsmen can do it without any specific knowledge and skills.

Small uneven surfaces do not interfere with the installation of PVC plates on walls, even with adhesives, which significantly helps to save room space. Well, if we consider bathrooms and toilets, then we can note a rather simple cleaning of their surfaces from various contaminants. In this case, it is quite possible to use various liquid detergents or gel formulations.

Guided by the fact that the use of plastic decorative panels is the most common, below we will provide detailed step-by-step instructions for their installation, which will certainly be useful for novice home craftsmen.

Important! When choosing such a finishing material, you should pay attention to the smell that can come from the plastic of the panels for interior wall decoration. Low-quality products can emit very harsh and unpleasant odors, which obviously will not add comfort to the room being repaired.

As for the colors, here its assortment is much more diverse than that of other materials. Structural drawings or panels are most in demand. Also, plastic panels for interior decoration under a brick cause a rather high interest among the consumer.

And of course, you cannot ignore the plastic coating that imitates natural material. It can be a plastic panel for wood or. Just in order not to violate the integrity of the composition in the apartment, a similar finish can be used for the bathroom and kitchen. Well, as already mentioned earlier, so that the dear reader has an idea of how the installation of such decorative panels is carried out, we will consider one of its options, taking, for example, a glazed and insulated loggia in an apartment.

The procedure and nuances of work on the installation of plastic decorative panels: step-by-step instructions with photo examples

PhotoAction being performed
First you need to fix the crate on the insulated wall. It can be either wooden or metal. A similar structure is attached, depending on the base material, on self-tapping screws or dowel nails
If self-tapping screws are used, then it is more convenient to work with a screwdriver
The distance between the battens of the battens should be about 50-60 cm
We check with the help of a level whether the frame rises evenly. In our case, a small deviation is visible
We put a sheet of penoplex (you can use any materials at hand) and pull the batten rail to the wall
This time everything is in order, which means you can continue
The bottom batten should be slightly higher than the floor (approx. 1-2 cm)
We go around difficult corners and window sills with pieces of laths like this
The ceiling lathing is carried out in a similar way. A rectangle should be formed at all corners of the wall perimeter - this is very important for the outer panels
Installing the first panel ...
... and we also check it with the mounting level - this is very important
Next, the panel is attached using a self-tapping screw with a press washer on the edge so that it can be covered with the next element
Installing the second panel ...
... by combining it with the first one so that there is no gap left and the seam is practically invisible. We also fix it with a self-tapping screw. Further, in a similar way, we continue to work to the end of the wall.
If necessary, narrow the panel, cut it with an assembly or clerical knife
Complex protrusions are measured and drawn, a small incision is made ...
... and then the cross-sections are cut out with a hacksaw for metal
Now you need to insert the panel into the groove of the previous one and fix it in place
Finish bends like these will help you make a neat corner.
We fasten them to the finished wall with a self-tapping screw ...
... and insert the panel of the next wall
Now we continue the same actions in a circle.
The last panel is mounted the other way around. First we insert it into the finish line ...
... and then gently pressing - into the groove of the previous panel ...
... and we combine them, removing the gap
It remains to install the F-shaped corners on the jambs of the door and frame

As you can see, there are no difficulties in this work, and the payment for the services of a professional can result in a considerable amount.

Gypsum and gypsum vinyl panels - what are their features?

Speaking of gypsum panels, it should be noted that, despite the convenience of their installation, they have a number of disadvantages. To begin with, gypsum panels absorb moisture very well. And if in the bedroom it will simply dry the air, then in the kitchens such panels will absorb not only splashes from, but also all the smells that will eventually become very unpleasant.

You also need to pay attention to the cost of gypsum panels for interior wall decoration. With a different structure, the price of such a finishing material can skyrocket to enormous proportions, which means that such repairs cannot be called budgetary.

With regard to moisture resistance, gypsum vinyl showed itself better. But still, gypsum is gypsum. This material also has one more significant disadvantage: gypsum vinyl wall panels, as well as simple gypsum, have a fairly large weight, which can increase with increased humidity.

And yet we must pay tribute, such a finishing material has shown itself well in new buildings. If someone is not in the know, recently commissioned houses “play” for another 3-5 years. This is due to the gradual settlement of the foundation. So it is gypsum and gypsum vinyl panels that tolerate such deformations quite well.

Cork wall panels: pros, cons and installation options

This material has more than enough advantages. Indeed, in addition to the decorative function, wall cork panels are also practical. In fact, it is both an excellent insulation and a material that perfectly isolates noise.

Basically, installation is done with glue. There are cork veneer panels that are installed using special locks, but their price is very high and will hardly be affordable for the average home craftsman. Such wall-mounted cork panels are less likely to be assembled with their own hands by the person who purchases them.

If you pay attention to the price categories of such material, then it can be noted that they are divided into three groups:

  • Panels made of cork chips - have the lowest cost;
  • Cork veneer - the most expensive;
  • A mixture of veneer and chips is a mid-range option.
It's important to know! Special glue for cork panels is required, and therefore ordinary "liquid nails" are indispensable here. Although many craftsmen say that it is possible to use ordinary Moment glue, we would not recommend such an option. In addition to the high costs of the adhesive itself, there is a danger of uneven installation. At the same time, it is hardly possible to remove such panels without spoiling them.

Some higher value products already have an adhesive surface. The difference in price is more than offset by the absence of the need to purchase the train separately.

Wall decoration with cork panels also has its own nuances. For example, the installation itself begins not from the corner of the room, but from the center, along the strip drawn along the installation level. This avoids unevenness.

Of course, such a material cannot be used in wet rooms, and this is undoubted, although probably the only big drawback. In order to understand what happens to such a canvas in a humid environment, you can simply remember a thermos with a similar cork. When soaked, it swells and increases in size. It is for this reason that cork wall panels are used only in rooms with normal humidity.

And yet there are rooms in the apartment where such coverage is sometimes simply necessary. It's about the nursery. Indeed, in addition to noise and thermal insulation, the cork sheet is resiliently soft. This means that even if a child hits, such panels will protect him from serious injury.

Glass wall panels - aesthetics and style of an expensive interior

It's no secret that glass has long ceased to be just a material for a window opening. Nowadays, tables and sinks for kitchens, and even cabinets with washbasins for bathrooms are made from it. The decoration did not escape such implementation.

The use of glass panels for walls is absolutely acceptable in any room, although they are most common in bathrooms, toilets and kitchens. But in children, the use of such material is undesirable, in contrast to cork. After all, no matter how strong the glass is, there is always a risk of damage during the game.

Among the disadvantages, in addition to instability to mechanical stress, one can name the high cost and a lot of difficulties in installation. And although many masters who have been dealing with such panels for a long time and say that everything is quite simple, beginners should not do such work. Of course, if there is no experienced mentor nearby.

Glass wall panels can be either transparent or printed, as well as textured or 3D. As for the methods of fastening, then most often this is through bolt fastening or "in the groove" with already fixed wooden, plastic or aluminum structures. Installation on an adhesive base is not performed.

Wall panels for noise insulation: what they are made of and how they are mounted

Acoustic or noise-absorbing panels are quite popular these days. It is possible that it is for this reason that manufacturers offer quite a lot of options for their execution. So what are these products made of?

Photo exampleManufacturing materialgeneral description

Wood fibersWood fibers are bonded together using cement or gypsum, after which small slabs are produced from this mass. The color of such material can be any

BasaltThe basis is practically the same basalt-based mineral wool. They have a micro-embossed fire-safe structure

Plasterboard panelsPlasterboard with various perforation options. Can be painted in any color suitable for the interior

Fiberglass materialsThe thickness of the slab covered with fiberglass can be up to 5 cm.

Polyurethane foamQuite easy to install and lightweight foam material. The standard color is gray. Relief - any

Melamine panelsSynthetic material that perfectly absorbs sound. Coloring in the desired color is allowed

In general, decorative acoustic panels were practically not used until recently, but nowadays they have gained immense popularity. The explanation is simple - if a musician lives in an apartment, then it is not always possible to maintain silence, which the neighbors do not really like. And the use of acoustic wall panels eliminates these problems. In this case, a similar coating is used not only on the walls. Indeed, in apartment buildings people live both from below and from above. Therefore, acoustic ceiling panels are also used.

But the most interesting combination of positive qualities is obtained when decorating children's playrooms with similar material. After all, a child needs noisy and active games. At the same time, in addition to absorbing sounds, placing soft panels on the wall will protect children from injury if they fall or hit the wall.

Interior decoration with 3D wall panels

The most surprising in appearance finishing material appeared on the shelves of building stores relatively recently, but has already gained popularity among craftsmen. Although some of their similarity is present even in the interiors of medieval castles. Apparently it's not for nothing that they say that the new is the well-forgotten old.

Such textured 3D panels can be made of wood or plastic, from plaster or glass. That is why they can find their fans in all segments of the population. For example, if a person likes environmentally friendly and natural materials, it would be optimal to purchase wooden 3D panels for walls, but if you need something cheaper, you can pay attention to PVC.

It is very difficult to explain what such products look like in words. That is why we propose to consider the appearance of 3D panels for walls in the interior, photo examples of which are presented below.

It is worth dwelling on the installation of such panels in more detail. It should be noted that, for example, gypsum is quite heavy. This should be taken into account when performing work.

Important advice! When starting the installation of 3D gypsum panels, make sure that the surface is dry, even and clean. You should not experiment with adhesives - this material needs a special one. Otherwise, the chances are high that all work will be useless, and maybe even dangerous. The installation itself starts from the bottom row and continues with horizontal stripes.

Now you can easily buy forms for 3D gypsum panels. In this case, you do not have to worry if one of them breaks during installation. You can always replace it by making a new one right at home.

Installation and operation of decorative panels in damp and warm rooms

Inexperienced craftsmen often make mistakes when decorating rooms such as a kitchen, bathroom or toilet, using materials that cannot withstand a humid atmosphere. And this is not surprising. Indeed, in stores, some unscrupulous sales assistants cheat in order to increase sales. And even experienced people are often faced with the fact that instead of a moisture-resistant material, they are trying to sell the most ordinary and cheapest one.

Let's try now to figure out how not to fall for the bait of such dealers, so as not to bite your elbows later looking at the damaged walls in the bathroom or kitchen.

First you need to decide which room will be finished. After all, one thing is moisture in the bathroom, and quite another is the temperature and steam from the hob in the kitchen. Naturally, we immediately sweep aside natural wood, chipboard and fiberboard. You can also set aside gypsum, which absorbs a lot of moisture. Thus, there are only two materials that can be used in such rooms - glass and plastic. It is their characteristics that we will consider in more detail now.

Bathroom and toilet wall decoration - which panels to choose?

Of course, in such rooms, material is needed that will not absorb moisture. And the most convenient for this parameter will be PVC or plastic. In addition, there are places in the bathroom where decorative wall decoration is useless and this should also be taken into account. Indeed, in this case, you need to bypass them (for example, a sink or a bathroom). Just plastic moisture-resistant panels for walls in this case are most acceptable due to their ease of cutting.

If we take glass as an example, then even though it is not afraid of moisture, it has a significant drawback - it cannot be cut off as needed at home. Hence the conclusion - the most successful solution would be the use of plastic for interior decoration of the bathroom with wall panels.

There is one more solution for such premises. An interesting and budget solution can be waterproof slabs for walls with a coating similar to linoleum. But still, such material cannot be compared with panels.

Kitchens and materials for their decoration

And again we choose one of the two options. But in this case it is the opposite - only glass, and no doubt about it. And now we will explain why. Modern decorative glass panels for the kitchen are quite durable, are not afraid of high temperatures from the hob and are very easy to clean. It does not matter which cleaning agent is used. Also, their environmental friendliness can be attributed to the positive qualities. Well, it's probably not worth talking about the aesthetic appearance, everything is clear without words.

The only inconvenience that may arise when choosing such a material is the rather complicated installation of decorative panels on the kitchen wall. But nevertheless, with a competent approach and a thorough study of information on this topic, such work is quite feasible.

As for the texture, with such a wide range of such products, you can choose what you like, whether it be an ordinary two-dimensional landscape or wall panels for a kitchen like a brick. In addition, there are so many opportunities here that if you list them all, then one article is unlikely to be enough. But one of the solutions is still worth mentioning.

If a glass panel is chosen to be installed as an apron near the working area of the kitchen, then placing an LED strip directly behind the glass can become a very interesting and uncomplicated option. In this case, apart from beauty, there is also a practical component. After all, when the backlight is turned on, the working area will be illuminated, which cannot but please the housewife. In addition, according to numerous studies, this lighting is not only convenient, but necessary when working in the kitchen.

  3. Sheet material - the length of one sheet is up to 2.5 m. Thickness is 1 cm. The material can be fixed with glue. Facing sheets are made from various materials - wood, metal, glass.

The panels are varied not only in terms of the composite material - plastic or wood, but also in texture, color, patterns, purpose. The choice depends on individual preferences, as well as on the location of the panels: bathroom or nursery.

PVC extruded

PVC panels are a finishing material created from polyvinyl chloride, rich in its variety of colors and shades. They are harmless to health, so they are used for cladding not only offices, but also residential premises.

The panels often have a variety of designs protected by a thin coating. They do not fade, do not wear off.

Panel features:

  • universal material for decoration - applicable in various places of the apartment;
  • ease of cladding - the installation of plastic panels is within the power of a beginner;
  • ease of care - easy to clean with gentle detergents;
  • the strength of the material - more dense panels are produced for the walls, and light ones for the ceiling;

MDF

Facing material made of MDF is intended for finishing offices, markets, balconies, corridors in the apartment. There are 2 types of panels:

  • differences in design: patterning and embossed options;
  • geometric configuration - slats, squares, sheets.

Panel features:

  1. The strength of the material.
  2. Ease of fixation.
  3. Ease of care.

Of the shortcomings, there are properties intended for wood - non-moisture resistant, do not tolerate sudden changes in temperature.

Applying the cladding in the apartment creates warmth and coziness. There is this personal account - it is characterized by severity.

Fiberboard - compressed sawdust, from which the finishing material is made. From above it is covered with a protective layer, therefore, it resembles a laminate.

Now the panels are made from pure materials, so they are not harmful to health.

Such panels are used in various rooms and premises. Moisture resistance is average, so it is not advisable to use them in damp rooms.

Material differences:

  • fire-resistant - due to a special coating, the facing surface does not burn;
  • sheet panels are often produced with carving, molding;
  • large palette of colors and shades;
  • it is possible to combine with other finishing options;
  • ease of installation;
  • easy surface care;
  • relatively low price.

The disadvantage is the fineness of the material.

The technical characteristics of fiberboard are shown in the table:

Chipboard is a chipboard facing material used for finishing residential and industrial premises.

Safety classification for use in living rooms:

  • super E is a safe material that does not harm humans. They are used in decoration of walls of apartments, houses, cottages;

  2. The glass is not affected by moisture and temperature drops. It does not deform, does not swell, and is not susceptible to fungus.
  3. Ease of cleaning. You do not only need to use metal brushes and abrasives, so as not to scratch the surface.
  4. The facing material does not fade in the sun.
  5. Possibility of using backlighting.
  • you need to constantly monitor the cleanliness of the surface. Looking closely, you can see fingerprints or traces of water droplets;
  • price. The panels are relatively expensive.

Facing walls with glass will last a long time and will not change their appearance.

Washable flexible

For washing flexible panels include PVC material, MDF. They are fixed to the walls and ceiling using a single technology. They are easy to install, easy to care for. In addition, these are environmentally friendly materials that do not affect human health.

Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Of the general advantages, they note the ease of installation, maintenance and impeccable appearance.

Distinctive properties of PVC:

  • service life - 50 years;
  • ease of fixation;

Of the minuses - they cannot be used near open fire, in fire-hazardous places.

Gypsum vinyl

This finishing material is made from plasterboard. Its surface is covered with vinyl, which can be one of three types: Newmor, Durafort, PVC film.

Gypsum vinyl can have an appearance like wood, bamboo, decorative plaster, and so on. And they can also be under the skin of a crocodile or just plain.

Applied for:

  • wall and ceiling cladding;
  • finishing of the arch;
  • facing of niches, partitions, shelves;
  • finishing window and door slopes and so on.

The pricing policy is varied. It depends on the type of drywall coating.

Metallic

Metal panels are:

  1. Non-ferrous metal - copper, aluminum. Painted in various colors.
  2. Common metal is steel. You also need to paint it so that there is no oxidation.

On the one hand, the metal plate is treated with sound-absorbing agents.

Metal cladding is produced for use:

  1. On the ceiling there is a square shape. Fastened to the frame.
  2. On the wall there is a different shape: a square, a rectangle. Horizontal or vertical mount.
  3. There are perforations for ventilation passages.

Advantages of the panels:

  • material strength - does not break, does not break;
  • attachment speed;
  • large selection in colors;
  • material made of steel, treated with anti-corrosion agents. Therefore, they are not susceptible to rusting.

To fix the cladding, you need to make a frame base.

Finishing wall panels by the type of cladding fastening inside the house

Regardless of the type of panels, fastening takes place with glue, a stapler or on the created frame.

Glue thin and light panels. To carry out the fixation, you need to prepare the rough base well. The adhesive must be selected not only for the panels, but also for the base.

A thicker, heavier cladding is fixed to a frame base, which is created from wooden slats or from metal profiles.

The cladding can be fixed vertically or horizontally. And also random elements, creating an interesting design.

Metal carcass

A frame made of metal profiles is created on the basis of the markings. For this, the surface is initially prepared and processed.

In addition to surface cladding, using the "frame base" method, the curved walls are leveled. Although there is one drawback - the space of the room is slightly reduced.

Pros of lathing:

  1. The profile base is not deformed. It is not subject to moisture, temperature changes.
  2. The metal profile is durable - with the correct creation of the structure, the lathing turns out to be tough, durable.
  3. The frame base is able to withstand a large load due to the addition of stiffeners.

I produce metal profiles in various sizes and according to the place of application.

The profile can be easily cut with metal scissors if you need a section of a certain length.

Wooden formwork

Wooden lathing is made in dry rooms so that wood (even processed wood) is not exposed to moisture. Otherwise, the frame will not last long - the tree will pick up water and begin to rot.

To make the base, you need 40x40 bars. To create a solid structure, the work is done clearly according to the algorithm.

Stapler

The stapler is used on a flat rough base. Before this, the wall, the ceiling must be treated with a primer to avoid the appearance of fungus.

You need staples for fixing with a stapler. And also it is necessary to make the markings along which the fastening is carried out.

Adhesive self-adhesive backing

PVC, MDF, veneer panels (rarely) have a self-adhesive base.

Differences from conventional panels:

  • even if the rough base has slight irregularities, the self-adhesive base hides them;
  • self-adhesive can withstand high humidity, temperature drops. Therefore, panels with such a base have a long shelf life;
  • fixation is easy. The main factor is the evenness of the part to be glued;
  • the surface of the panels is easy to clean, does not absorb odors;
  • additional sound insulation.

The self-adhesive facing surface looks aesthetically pleasing and beautiful.

Sticking on liquid nails or glue

When using liquid nails to fix the cladding, you must adhere to the recommendations:

  1. Nails are applied with a heat gun. The best material is PVC cladding.
  2. Apply "Moment-Montage", "Titan".
  3. We'll also use a polyurethane sealant.
  4. After drying, the glue becomes transparent.
  5. Before purchasing, you need to look at the instructions, as well as the application - resistance to changes in temperature, humidity, alkali.
  6. The setting time should be kept to a minimum.
  7. Liquid nails should not have a strong odor.

A test must be carried out before use.

How the front panels are fastened

Facade panels are mounted outdoors to clad the walls of the house. Before fixing the panels, you should take into account the movement of the house. It is not tightly fixed - there should be a gap of 1 mm between the screw head and the part.

Fixing instruction:

Installation of the guide. Draw a horizontal line below, applying a level. A bar is fixed along it. After that, the same line is drawn at the top and a guide is attached to it.

Internal corners are made using the J profile, if it is not available, an angle bar is used.

The cladding is made in one direction - from left to right, from bottom to top. The first panel should be flat for the sidewall. It is inserted into the grooves of the guides and fastened with self-tapping screws. The next panel is inserted into the guide and fastened with screws only from the top. This is how the whole plane is exposed.

For the slopes, use the J bar. The decoration is carried out in the same way as the corners.

Fixing the panels to the facade of the house is simple. It will be performed by each owner independently. You just need to familiarize yourself with the order of work and the nuances that may arise in the process. Namely, temperature gaps, not tightening the screws to the end.

Varieties by type of installation

The produced panels have various shapes - square, rectangle, in the form of strips, slabs. They all have their own nuances and differences in installation.

Installation methods are excellent not only for creating a frame base, but also an adhesive method, a stapler.

Each type of cladding has its own setting. If you do not adhere to this fact, the surface can be fragile, last a short time.

Wall cladding for the room

Room cladding panels are room decor and wall alignment. Increased sound insulation, aesthetic appearance.

There are 2 methods for attaching tiles to walls:

  1. On a flat surface, the cladding is fixed with glue.
  2. Frame making - involves the alignment of curved walls. With this method, it is possible to insulate the rough surface, lay communications there (cable, electric wires). There is one small drawback - when creating a frame base, the space of the room is slightly reduced.

Knowing the humidity in the room, having decided on the installation method, you can safely proceed to the wall cladding.

Ceiling

Ceiling decoration material is classified:

  1. Cassette suspension - or "Armstrong". Fixation principle - create a suspension from metal corners. It turns out a cell of 60x60 cm. This cell has a T-shaped corner that forms a board. The panel is fixed to this T-shape.
  2. Rack view - fixation is performed on the created frame or on glue. Long slats are fixed end-to-end or connected into grooves.
  3. Fixing with glue - an even ceiling does not require alignment from itself, the creation of a lathing. It is only necessary to choose the right adhesive mixture.

The ceiling panels are lightweight. It's easy to work with them. The result is a beautiful flat ceiling in the bathroom, in the kitchen.

Rack typesetting

These are planks, the length of which is 240 cm, the width is 12.5 - 30 cm. The most popular ones, they are in small rooms or where there are many corners.

To fix the rails, you will need a frame base. The panels have grooves for connection. Screws are screwed into them and covered with the next panel from above. Basically sets of slats are made of fiberboard, chipboard, PVC.

Tiled ready-made typesetting

The typesetting panels are in the shape of a square. Sizes range from 30 - 98 cm. They are attached to glue with clamps. For fixing to each other, there are grooves on each tile. Sets are made of fiberboard, chipboard, PVC.

One of the advantages is the variety of colors.

Sandwich

Sandwich panels - polymer sheets in 2 layers. Their thickness is 1-1.5 mm, and the standard size is 150x300 cm. Polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane foam are used for the insulation layer.

The fixation of these panels is carried out in the same way as the tiled ready-made typesetting panels.

Leafy wide

It is the largest facing material. Dimensions 1.22x2.44 meters. thickness 6 mm. Made of impregnated fiberboard or PVC. Mainly on the facing panel imitation of tiles, wood.

The panels are fixed to the wall with glue, together with moldings.

How the panels are installed: instructions for carrying out the work

The installation is carried out by the following methods:

  1. Creation of a wireframe.
  2. Frameless method - with glue.

Preparation. The first thing you need is a power tool, a construction knife, a level, a meter, a drill, a bit, staples.

The next step is a wood frame. Suitable for PVC in most cases. The guide rails are installed first around the entire perimeter. To do this, first draw the markup, relying on the level. After the crate is created inside the resulting quadrangle. You should get cells. The dimensions for installing the slats are commensurate with the frame base for drywall.

Metal profile frame. It is similar to the crate for the gypsum board.

For strength and convenience, cells are created with dimensions of 40x40 cm.

Each type of panel has its own nuances of installation. It depends on the manufacture of the panels, their shapes and sizes.
