How to make decoupage eyeglass case

4. Lightly, without strong pressure, treat the dried surface with sandpaper 400 or sandpaper 600. It is necessary to ensure that the surface becomes smooth to the touch. We brush off all the dust that has formed.

5. We continue to prime the case. We apply a second layer of white acrylic paint on the sanded surface so that, as a result, the background of the eyeglass case does not shine through the ground. The second layer is applied in exactly the same way as the first. For a more even coverage, professionals advise applying it perpendicular to the previous layer. If you applied the first layer with horizontal lines, then it is better to apply the second with vertical ones. Waiting for the paint to dry again. It takes no more than an hour. 9. Using a thin synthetic brush and glue, apply a napkin to the eyeglass case. In this case, decoupage glue can be replaced with PVA glue, half diluted with water. It is better, of course, to purchase a special decoupage glue in an art store. From PVA glue, the napkin is torn, moreover, over time, the image may turn yellow.

Wet the brush and glue the napkin. Smooth out from the center to the edges. The main thing is to do everything carefully, slowly, so as not to tear the image. It is also important that there are no wrinkles or bubbles, as this will allow for a realistic drawing. It will look like it was drawn by your hand. We apply the image of a bear on the upper and lower parts of the eyeglass case and wait for it to dry.

10. And now we use all sorts of tricks to hide the edges of the napkin and make the drawing look like your own work. First, let's create a background around the drawings on both sides. To do this, you need to take a disposable plastic plate and mix acrylic paints on it to get the desired color. In this case, these are red and white acrylic paints, combined to give a shade of pink. We cut off a small piece from an ordinary sponge for washing dishes with nail scissors, dip it in pink paint and quickly, pressing and tearing the sponge from the surface, paint the eyeglass case. We wait 20 minutes for the background to dry.

11. Slightly lighten the color in a plastic plate by adding white acrylic paint to it. Cut off another small piece of dishwashing sponge, dip in a new shade of pink and also cover the background. At the same time, we leave the same, darker layer around the picture. A kind of halo is created around the image.

12. Lighten the color again in the same way as we did in the previous paragraph, and apply according to the same principle, with a new clean piece of sponge, completing the halo.

13. We mix white and black acrylic paints, getting different shades of gray. With them we will draw images of the bear on both sides. To do this, you need another brush, also synthetic, but round and very thin. We paint on the details of the picture to give it more realism.

14. So that the eyeglass case does not look too glamorous, we will make small blots on it. To do this, take a hard toothbrush, soak it in water and dip it in gray acrylic paint, obtained before by mixing. Now you have to get your hands dirty a little. The brush should be brought to the eyeglass case and quickly run your finger over the bristles. At the same time, it is better to cover the area around with newspapers, since the spray will fly in all directions. Some of them will also fall on the eyeglass case, creating the effect of dots and the finest splashes. The same can be done with white paint so that the dots are two colors. Then you should wait 20-30 minutes for the work to dry, and during subsequent work, the points do not smear.

We continue with the primer. On the sanded surface, apply a second coat of white acrylic paint so that in the end the color of the plastic does not shine through the primer. For a more even coverage, professionals advise applying it perpendicular to the previous layer. If you applied the first layer with horizontal lines, then it is better to apply the second with vertical ones. We are waiting for the paint to dry. It's about an hour. Sometimes 20-30 minutes is enough.

We choose a three-layer napkin with a beautiful pattern. It is better not to use two-layer napkins, as they are too thin and easily torn during use. Separate only the top layer with the pattern.

Apply glue to the surface where you plan to stick the pattern. Then we put the picture on top. Wet the brush in the glue and smooth the napkin from the center to the edges. Try to do it carefully, slowly, so as not to tear the picture. Smooth out any wrinkles and bubbles to achieve a realistic drawing. It will look like it was drawn by your hand. The picture must be glued to the top and bottom of the eyeglass case. We are waiting for drying.

Now take a disposable plastic plate and mix red and white acrylic paints on it to get pink. Cut off a small piece from an ordinary sponge for washing dishes, dip it in pink paint and, quickly pressing and tearing the sponge from the surface, paint the eyeglass case. Wait 20 minutes for the paint to dry.

Now add more white paint to the mixture. Cut off another small piece of sponge, dip it in a new shade of pink and cover the background again. At the same time, the same, darker layer remains around the picture. Around the picture turned out a kind of halo.

Once again we lighten the color of the paint and apply according to the same principle only with a new clean piece of sponge, completing the halo.

Mix white and black acrylic paint and get different shades of gray. Paint on the details of the picture with them to give more realism. To do this, use a round thin brush.

And now we will make small blots on it. Take a hard toothbrush, soak it in water and dip it in gray acrylic paint. Bring the brush to the eyeglass case and quickly run your finger over the bristles. Keep in mind that the spray will fly in all directions. Some of them will fall on the eyeglass case, creating the effect of the finest splashes. Do the same with white paint so that the dots are two colors. Let dry 20-30 minutes.

Using a transparent 3D varnish, we process the details of the picture. Select the eyes, nose and bow of the bear. At first, the varnish looks cloudy, but after drying it becomes transparent and makes the image voluminous. It is better to apply varnish on a horizontal surface, otherwise it will drain.

Take the silver acrylic outline and follow the outline of the drawing.

Sprinkle beads on a plastic plate. We dip a thin brush into acrylic varnish and then into beads and apply varnish with adhering beads to selected areas of the surface. When dried, the beads will firmly adhere to the varnish.
