What makes up the geometry of the room? From the arrangement of walls, furniture, tulles, paintings ... Add more style to your room by introducing chandelier geometry into it! Such a stylish ceiling lamp made of wooden slats is not difficult to manufacture, but it looks very impressive.

Materials and tools

  • 18 wooden slats (posts);
  • construction stapler with staples;
  • metal suspension for the chandelier;
  • paint for metal;
  • jigsaw;
  • ruler;
  • pencil.

Installation process

Let's prepare the frame of the chandelier - wooden posts. They will be natural in color.

  • First we cut 4 identical tall posts- by the height of the chandelier.
  • Then let's make 8 more - for transverse inserts.

Step 2: We make the frame of the chandelier.

  • We make the first frame. We take 2 long guides, put them parallel to each other, 2 short - across between them and fasten in all corners with a construction stapler.
  • We also apply the second pair of long slats. It turned out 2 frames. With the same stapler we connect them with other transverse strips. It turns out a kind of cube.

Let's add a designer touch to the frame - we will lay another diagonal rail through each side of the cube. To do this, we cut off one corner of the rail at 45 degrees and attach to one of the sides for fitting.

Step 3.

  • Mark with a pencil and saw off with a jigsaw.
  • Attach the diagonal with a construction stapler, as shown in the photo.
  • We will do the same for the rest of the sides.

Step 4: fixing

The model of this chandelier does not imply a plafond, so we take a ready-made blank for the lamp - an original suspension for the lamp. Let's paint it in favorite color and leave to dry.

Step 5.

While the paint is drying, make a hole in the frame to secure it to the factory suspension. The hole in diameter should not be much larger than the diameter of the pipe so that the lamp does not fall through.

But in any case, on the inside, you need to screw a washer or a proprietary stopper.

When the suspension is dry, we fix it to the ceiling, then put on the lamp frame, twist the stopper and twist the light bulb.

Looking at this chandelier, you will realize that you would not find it in any store. It will become a favorite decoration of even the simplest and smallest room and will definitely be a skillful addition to your home interior.

These master classes are intended for anyone who would like to learn or raise their level of skill in making practical, unique and rather elegant wood chandeliers with their own hands. The advantages of these products are that the wood is easy to process, it is safe, because all the conductive parts are hidden in insulated cases, and you can fit your hand-made chandeliers into any interior!

Master class number 2. Designer chandelier made of wood

A simple creative wood lamp can be used as a night light by making it less light, or as a chandelier by making fewer stripes.

Materials and tools:

  • very thin wood plywood or thick sheets of paper (the main element of the lamp);
  • glue for wood or paper (PVA);
  • clips or clips (only useful in the process);
  • a wire with a socket and a plug (if it is a lamp from a general power supply);
  • pencil;
  • scissors or a paper knife.

Assembling the chandelier

If you don't have pre-made strips, you can cut them from a piece of thin plywood or heavy paper. You can mark the strips with a pencil or cut them straight away, because they don't have to be the same. Any design decisions are greatly appreciated!

We glue the strips. We make a rim of the desired diameter from each strip and glue it with an overlap with PVA glue or for wood.

It is better to glue it right away, creating the final design of the chandelier, since it will be difficult to make one shape from rims of different diameters at the end. Insert strips between others and clasp them together.

  • It is necessary to make a mount for the lamp holder and lamp. Use energy saving light bulbs and while the power is on, do not touch the electrically conductive parts of the cartridge.
  • Cut out square piece of plywood and make a hole in it for the cartridge. To do this, you need to circle the inner diameter of the cartridge so that after it does not slip through.

  • We cut out a hole with a knife and fix the cartridge in it.
  • We drag the wire through the lamp, taking into account how it will hang.
  • Then we fix the cardboard itself with the cartridge in the lamp with glue, as shown in the photo.

To dry, fix the plywood with two clamps. We leave for a while.

When the glue is dry remove all clamps... It remains to hang a handmade lamp where it will delight you every day!

Master class No. 3. Wall lamp made of wood

If you like bright electric light and the romance of simple details, check out this master class. Nothing complicated, but original and stylish. A very simple loft-style wall lamp made of wood.

Materials and tools:

  • Wooden bracket (available at home stores like IKEA)
  • socket with plug and textile cable;
  • spray paint for wood;
  • old box or newspapers;
  • seals.

Manufacturing technique

Take an unnecessary box or spread newspaper to paint the bracket. It is better to do this with gloves so as not to get dirty. We spray paint over the entire surface. If you are not satisfied with the color saturation after the first painting, leave the part to dry, then cover with a second coat and leave to dry again.

We put a textile wire into the hole in the bracket and make one turn around the bracket. The textile wire is a peculiar highlight of this lamp, but you can use any wire.

We insert the other end of the wire into the cartridge and make the zero and phase wiring in it.

We fix the bracket on the wall with screws or dowel-nails. We screw the pear-shaped bulb into the socket and insert the plug into the socket. How lovely! And in the evening, when these bulbs are the only source of light, they create a romantic mood of a summer evening.

Master class number 4: Lamp with wood veneer

A fantastic pendant lamp made of flexible wood plywood will serve as a decoration for a dining room or bedroom, roundness of shapes and neutrality of color will complement any interior.

Materials and tools:

  • a piece of flexible plywood board (its length determines the height of the chandelier + a small piece for fixing);
  • 2 wooden hoops (hoops of the same or different diameters can be used);
  • stationery or construction clamps;
  • glue gun (hot glue);
  • long ruler;
  • pencil;
  • knife or large scissors.

Lamp manufacturing technology

Step 1: Prepare the chuck mount.

  1. We take a hoop with a smaller diameter and a piece of plywood board. We put the hoop on the board and outline the inner diameter with a pencil.
  2. Cut out a circle (or almost a circle - a piece large enough to secure the lamp).
  3. In the center of the circle, cut out a smaller circle - according to the diameter of the cartridge.
  4. We take hot glue or wood glue and glue the circle with the hoop.

Step 2.

We take the second piece of flexible plywood and fix it on the table for accurate measurements. We take a ruler and pencil and draw parallel lines - approximately 2 cm wide.

But you can make the stripe widths that you like better - narrower or wider, depending on your preference.

We cut the plywood into equal strips. We need 4 extra strips to grip the rims together. These strips will be shorter than the others (almost half as long).

Step 3.

  • Fixing 4 short stripes on the lamp... To do this, with one clamp we hook one strip on the small hoop on top and with the second clamp on the bottom on the large hoop.
  • We repeat this procedure on 4 sides, as shown in the photo (in order for the chandelier to be even, the hoop should be located strictly parallel to each other).

Step 4.

  1. We hook the rest of the stripes in the same way, starting with four on all sides, and then filling in the voids between them (this should be done for general symmetry).
  2. The stripes should be equally curved so that the look of the chandelier resembles a lantern.
  3. The last 2 strips must be left to hide the clips.
  4. We glue them one by one - each according to the diameter of the hoop. It can be glued with an overlap - it will be invisible.

It remains to hang the lamp and fix the holder in the hole. The air lamp is ready!

Today, every apartment has a chandelier on the ceiling. Typically, such products have standard forms that are boring to all, and the materials used to create such a lamp are the same. Usually this is a structure for 3-7 shades with one or more bulbs in them, made of aluminum, hard plastic and glass.

To create a unique lamp, you need to use something new and unusual. You can start reshaping, but it's even better to replace the standard material with something unusual. An excellent solution is to create a chandelier with your own hands from natural wood or plywood.

Driftwood chandelier

An excellent option for creating a ceiling chandelier with your own hands is to use an ordinary driftwood made of wood, which you can find on the street while walking or on the way home from work. Such a device will turn out to be very unusual, beautiful and rather environmentally friendly.

In addition, the cost of such a chandelier will be incredibly cheap, the price will be ten times lower than the price of a ready-made standard device, which is already boring to everyone.

What materials will you need:

  • Dry driftwood of the length and size you need. This one is very easy to find by going into the forest. If you find it a little damp, you will need to wait until it dries out on the balcony.
  • E14 or e27 sockets, depending on which bulb you want to use.
  • LED lamps, with a base for your socket.
  • Metal cable for mounting, with special clamps.
  • A piece of dry tree branch with a diameter of about five centimeters.
  • Nails and screws.
  • The board is two centimeters thick and measures ten by ten.
  • Saw and drill or engraver, soldering iron, pliers and screwdrivers.

Having collected all the listed tools and materials, you can start assembling the ceiling device with your own hands.

Now let's look at what steps should be taken to get a homemade ceiling chandelier made of wood:

  1. We completely remove the bark from our wooden branch and clean its surface with sandpaper. Do not overdo it so as not to disrupt the natural appearance.
  2. We decide on the number and location of our bulbs.
  3. We drill holes for the light bulbs and make a small line on the top of the branch for laying wires in it.
  4. Take a square board and drill holes into it for the retaining cable, mounting screw and wire.
  5. From a prepared tree branch with a five-centimeter diameter, we make pieces of five centimeters, in an amount equal to the number of bulbs.
  6. We drill out the core with a drill or cutter, to a depth of 4.5 centimeters. On the reverse side in the center we drill a through hole for the wire.
  7. We connect the wires to the cartridges and put our wooden casings on each cartridge. We push the end of the wire into the hole in the main branch.
  8. We fasten the steel cable to the snag at two points. We fix it with self-tapping screws.
  9. We connect all the wires into one and bring it to the square board. We also connect a steel cable to it.

Be sure to insulate all wire connections and solders. It is best to use heat shrink tubing. But the option using electrical tape will also be very good.

Country style ceiling chandelier

Making a ceiling lamp made of wood or plywood with your own hands allows you to bring the interior of the room closer to such a style as country music.

Table lamp made of clothespins

Thanks to the unique design, the device made of wood has a rich rustic flavor and will be able to perfectly convey the atmosphere that a designer who decorates a country-style room should bring to life.

The naturalness and natural aroma of a wooden chandelier will make this very easy and create an unusual atmosphere.

Plywood lamp

Plywood is a unique and versatile material. With its help it is possible to create a unique colorful lamp design with various laces, unusual curves and shapes. It is also possible to make a more strict semi-antique chandelier from plywood with straight shapes and massive design.

Plywood sconce, in the shape of cats

In general, to assemble such a ceiling chandelier with your own hands, you will need the same materials as for the first presented option, only plywood will be used instead of driftwood, and cartridge cases will be assembled from pieces of plywood board.

The lace ceiling chandelier is made according to pre-drawn sketches. You can develop them yourself or download ready-made ones from the Internet. Then, using an electric jigsaw, all the lace is cut out, and you get very beautiful details. By collecting them into a single whole, you can enjoy a truly unique and beautiful device.

Such chandeliers can look like antique or have a more modern design. It all depends on how it will be processed in the future.

Since wood is very easily flammable, pay special attention to insulation. It is better to play it safe and double-check all the wire connections a second time than to get unnecessary problems on your head or even risk your health and life.

Fasten all fastening and retaining elements properly and securely. The cables and fasteners must be of high quality, durable material and have sufficient strength to withstand your chandelier with interest.

Light is one of the most important factors that affects our life. In addition to the main function of lighting, it can create a unique atmosphere, it helps to manipulate the size of the space optically, and also has enormous decorative properties.

Instructions for making wooden fixtures

Consider several master classes on how to make wood chandeliers with your own hands.

It is easy to do such work, the result will conquer with the elegance of forms.

Lamp in the form of wooden squares

What is included in the geometry of a room? Walls, furniture, curtains, doors and windows. But not only. You can refresh the design with an unusual chandelier, the shape of which will resemble rectangles connected by the sides of the faces to each other, inside each rectangle there is one diagonal.

To make a chandelier you will need:

  1. 1.18 pcs. wooden planks.
  2. 2.Stapler gun and staples.
  3. 3. Finished metal lamp holder.
  4. 4. Paints for metal.
  5. 5. Ruler.
  6. 6. Pencil.

Step-by-step instruction:

  • Preparing the chandelier frame from natural colored wooden planks. You will need 4 pcs. long identical slats - for vertical elements, and another 8 pcs. smaller - for transverse inserts.
  • Create a chandelier frame. You need to take 2 pieces. long planks and place them parallel to each other, 2 pcs. short strips are placed at the ends, perpendicular to long strips. With the help of a stapler gun, the strips are stapled together with staples. It turned out one facet of the future frame. You will need to perform the same element again.
  • Then, with the help of 2 pcs. the remaining short strips, prepared earlier, the rectangles are fastened together at the top and bottom. You can add a designer look to the entire structure by attaching a diagonal bar to the resulting frame inside each rectangle. To make the resulting frame look neater, the ends are trimmed at a 45 degree angle before attaching the inner diagonal strips.

To mount the bulb itself, you need to take a ready-made metal suspension for lighting. Metal parts are painted in the desired color. While the paint is drying, you need to cut a hole in the frame to secure it to the factory hanger. The diameter of the hole should not be much larger than the diameter of the lamp suspension tube. But the inside must be secured with a washer or stopper. When the paint is dry, you can attach the chandelier to the ceiling, securing all the elements well. The last - the light bulb is screwed in.

The advantage of such products is that the wood is easy to work with, it is safe, because all the parts that conduct electricity are hidden. A DIY chandelier can be adapted to any interior.

Tangle chandelier

Making a ball-shaped lamp (in the form of a ball), which can be used as a night light, if a low-power light bulb is provided.

Materials and tools:

  1. 1. Very thin wood veneer (the main element of the lamp).
  2. 2. Glue for wood (can be PVA).
  3. 3. Clamps.
  4. 4. Electric holder for low-power light bulbs.
  5. 6. Pencil.
  6. 6. Scissors or a utility knife.

Stages of work - blanks, fastening, connection

If there are no ready-made veneer strips, then you can cut them from thin plywood or thick cardboard. The stripes can be marked with a pencil or simply cut out, as they do not have to be the same. All designs are appreciated.

  • Pasting of blanks.

Strips are rolled in a circle of a certain diameter, gluing them together at the points of contact. For a good bonding effect, the joints are fixed with clerical clips (binders). In the process of such twisting and gluing, by inserting veneered hoops of different diameters inside each other, a spherical structure is obtained.

  • Fastening the cartridge.

From a piece of plywood, you need to cut a square - a limiter. In the center of the square, a hole is cut with a diameter the same as an electric cartridge, which must be threaded inside the cut out square until it stops. The inner part of the chuck is fixed on the back of the square with a chuck clamp. A wire with a fixed holder for a light bulb is pulled through a model of a chandelier wound from veneer until it stops with a plywood stopper.

  • Connection.

The wire is pulled out of the chandelier, taking into account how it will hang.

Then the light bulb is screwed in, gently pushing the strips apart and then returning them to their place. All fixtures are checked, and now you can plug the finished chandelier into the network.

Loft-style luminaire design

Simplicity of details is a distinctive feature of the loft style. It is quite easy to do the construction of the lamp with your own hands - a sconce made of wood in this design.

Materials and tools required:

  1. 1. Wooden bracket for fixing the luminaire.
  2. 2. Electric socket, plug and light bulb.
  3. 3. Textile wire.
  4. 4. Paint spray for wood.

You can make a wooden bracket yourself, or you can buy a ready-made one. Drill holes in the right places through which the wire will be threaded and with which the lamp itself will be attached to the wall. The next step is painting the bracket. In accordance with the selected design of the color palette, the wooden blank is painted.

After each coat of applied paint, allow time to dry.

A wire is passed through the hole, which is wrapped in a beautiful loop around the bracket. An electric socket with a light bulb is attached to the top of the wire. An electrical plug is attached to the other end of the wire. The lamp is ready.

Veneer Lantern Chandelier

A unique flexible veneer pendant lamp that will adorn your dining room or bedroom - its rounded shapes and neutral colors will complement any décor.

Would need:

  • an elastic plywood sheet (the length of the sheet determines the height of the chandelier frame + a small piece of plywood for attaching the electric holder);
  • 2 pcs. wooden hoops (hoops can be of the same or different diameters);
  • stationery or construction clamps;
  • glue gun;
  • ruler;
  • pencil;
  • utility or construction knife or large scissors.

Execution technology

We prepare tools and materials, and proceed to the master class.

  • Cutting strips of plywood for the chandelier frame.

With the help of a pencil and a ruler, parallel lines of the same length and 2 cm wide are outlined on the plywood - the boundaries of the strips of future chandelier elements, which are then cut out with a clerical knife or strong scissors. You can diversify the design of the future chandelier by cutting strips of different widths. In addition to long stripes, 4 pieces need to be cut. stripes that are almost 2 times smaller than the main ones. The function of these short strips is to support the structure of the chandelier by holding together two wooden hoops.

  • Making a limiter for an electric cartridge.

In order to get the limiter of the required size, you need to take the remaining piece of plywood that was prepared earlier, put the hoop on the upper part of the chandelier and trace the outer contour of the hoop along the plywood with a pencil. Then, using large scissors, the limiter is cut out. Cut a hole in the center of the stopper with a diameter similar to that of an electric chuck. A stopper with a hole is glued to the top of the hoop of the chandelier dummy.

  • Securing the cut strips to wooden hoops.

First of all, 4 pieces are glued to wooden hoops. short strips, strictly at 90 degrees to each other, to tighten the structure. The hoops should be exactly parallel to each other. For better adhesion, you need to use clamps. After the 4 main strips are glued, the space between them should be filled evenly with the remaining long strips, gluing them in the same way, fastening with clips on the upper and lower hoops.

Over the past few decades, there is practically not a single design direction that would not in one way or another use wood products. The lamp in general and the chandelier in particular are objectively one of the most noticeable interior items, therefore hanging chandeliers made of wood are deservedly considered perhaps the most popular trend at the moment.

Features of wood ceiling lamps

Any wooden object in the interior of the room is subconsciously associated with warmth and comfort. Traditionally, homemade wood chandeliers are used in all directions of the oriental theme, where the geometric correctness of the lines and at the same time the warmth of natural wood contribute to a peaceful rest.

Such a direction as country is generally impossible without the use of natural materials. The rural style at all times was characterized by the use of slightly rough, unusual forms. The massive appearance of such lamps creates a sense of reliability.

Antique wood chandelier is associated with medieval romance and knightly tournaments. Interspersing of forged metal elements give this structure an exquisite lightness and unique flavor.

Advantages of wooden lamps

  • The first thing that catches your eye is the naturalness of such a chandelier.... More environmentally friendly material is hard to find. Moreover, being constantly close to a heat source, wood releases essential oils and microelements useful for health into the atmosphere.
  • The processing technology of this material, as a rule, is not very complex.... The assembly of relatively simple wooden structures is accessible even to children.

  • Wooden chandeliers for summer cottages are deservedly considered almost the best solution.... After all, the dacha itself is intended for out-of-town recreation closer to nature.
  • The cost of construction plays an important role.... Even if you do, the total cost of a homemade chandelier will be affordable for just about any budget. But as a rule, all costs end on the purchase of cartridges, light bulbs and wires, and several boards or twigs will always be found at any dacha.

What are the disadvantages of such lamps

  • Opponents will immediately point out to you the fire hazard of such a chandelier. In these statements, of course, there is some truth, but with proper installation and use of LED or other weakly heating light sources, you are practically not in danger. In addition, there are a lot of natural impregnations on sale that prevent fire.

Important: such homemade lamps, no matter what you saturate them and no matter how competently assemble them, it is highly undesirable to place them near sources of open fire. For example, next to the fireplace or in the barbecue area.

  • Whatever one may say, but wood is a living material and very hygroscopic. Wooden chandeliers for a bath look great, but it is better to mount them away from showers and steam rooms. The constant change in temperature and high humidity do not contribute to the preservation of the massif. In this case, a wood-like chandelier is more suitable.
  • Another serious problem of this material is the high probability of damage to the massif by various kinds of pests. But as mentioned above, no one bothers you to soak your chandelier with natural protective compounds.

A few words about self-assembly

Antique chandelier made of wood with your own hands, the thing is quite real. In essence, all that is required of you is a great desire and a standard set of carpentry tools, which is found in almost every home.
