How the kitchen set is installed. DIY kitchen assembly: detailed instructions

19.04.2018

Hello, friends.

What is a stand-alone, and what is its general algorithm? We will talk about this today in this article.

But before talking about the installation, I will say a few words about what should be done the day before.

And on the eve, all kitchen modules should be maximally assembled and packed for transportation (they are usually packed in a special film that protects them from scratches). All facades must be hung on them (at first, the facades can be left unadjusted - they will be adjusted at the end of the installation itself), handles must be hung on the facades, etc. In short, everything that can be done before installing the headset needs to be done.

The room itself, in which it should be, must be completely ready for installation. This means, if repairs were made in it, then:

  • The floors must be made (the field of installation of the kitchen unit, you cannot crawl under its supports)
  • A work wall made of tiles (if any) must be laid out
  • All old furniture located at the installation site of the kitchen must be removed from the premises.
  • There must be working sockets in the room (or somewhere nearby, for connecting a carrier)
  • All built-in appliances must be available (sink, hob, oven, hood)
  • Roughly, at least a whole day should be allocated for the installation of a kitchen set.

When all of the above conditions are met, (disassembled, of course, in the form) is delivered to the installation site.

Any kitchen is usually installed from lower modules. If this is a corner kitchen, then the installation always starts from the corner (corner modules are installed first).

Before installing the modules, all facades are removed from them.

Having exposed the lower modules, and fastening them together with tie bolts, they must be set “in level” by means of adjustable supports. The modules are exposed, taking into account all the gaps (relative to the walls and relative to the table top), which are taken into account in the project.

After all the lower modules are exposed, the table top is "fitted" under them. When the worktop is adjusted and exposed, the sink and hob cut into it. Then the table top is installed on the lower modules and secured.

When the lower base of the kitchen is installed, the level of the upper modules is measured, holes are marked on the wall for awnings for the upper modules.

Then the upper modules are hung up, adjusted "according to the level", and pulled together with the same tie bolts.

When the lower and upper bases of the kitchen unit are installed, the plinth is installed (on the countertop), the facades are hung and adjusted, and, in general, everything, the kitchen is installed.

The owner connects water and gas to the equipment. Especially, I do not recommend messing with water, because if something is not done as needed, and the kitchen is flooded, you yourself will be to blame for this. And it is, at least, stupid to do a lot of work, and then "screw it up".

If an apron made of MDF, chipboard or plastic is planned to be attached to the working wall (wall panel), then it is attached at the very beginning (before installing the lower modules).

That's all, see you!

  • Preparing for the main process
  • Assembly of conventional bedside tables
  • Assembly of pedestals with drawers
  • Implementation of the installation of parts of the headset

A new kitchen set is an essential moment for any housewife. After all, it is in the kitchen that a person has the opportunity to both realize himself and feel himself. A new kitchen set is usually delivered to customers' homes unassembled. Therefore, it is also necessary to assemble it correctly.

But assembly in our time with the help of master furniture makers is not always done with high quality and as expected. After all, most workers are in a hurry to assemble and install furniture as quickly as possible, while not spending significant effort on the process itself. But not only the decorative appearance and ease of use of pieces of furniture, but also personal safety directly depends on the quality of assembly and installation. After all, if you hang a cabinet of poor quality, it can fall off the wall at any time.

Preparing for the main process

It is for these reasons that many people prefer to do the installation of a kitchen set with their own hands, without involving specialists. And rightly so. After all, it is not difficult for any man to do this work with his own hands, if he follows some useful advice. The whole process is divided into three main stages: the preparation stage, the assembly stage and the stage of fixing and installing the kitchen unit. Let's consider everything in detail and in order.

Figure 1. Measurement of diagonals is carried out using a tape measure or a long ruler.

First you need to prepare for the furniture assembly process. To do this, purchase in advance all the materials and tools you need for work. This will provide significant time savings in the process. You will definitely need:

  • building level;
  • screwdriver with various attachments;
  • electric drill;
  • tape measure and pencil for marking;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • hammer;
  • furniture stapler;
  • nails;
  • wood glue and a thin brush;
  • a set of all accessories necessary for furniture, which always comes with the furniture.

It is advisable to immediately check the assembly diagram that is attached to the furniture set and the presence of all the necessary fittings and fasteners. If something is not there, then you must definitely purchase it. Before work, you need to free up as much space in the room as possible so that assembly can be carried out smoothly. The floor should be freed from carpet and linoleum if possible. And be sure to cover it with a thick tarpaulin, burlap or several layers of polyethylene, so that nothing snags or scratches during assembly.

Immediately, without waiting for the assembly of furniture, prepare access in the kitchen to the installation sites of the headset. In this case, it is advisable to pay the greatest attention to all kinds of pipes, washing and exhaust. It is very important that all this is in good condition, otherwise, in the event of a leak, the furniture may deteriorate greatly. When done, unpack the furniture, study the drawing and start assembling.

Assembly of conventional bedside tables

Figure 2. The rails should be located at a close distance from each other so that there are no gaps between the boxes.

Since you need to assemble the headset directly according to the drawing, this will not give you any special difficulties. Typically, the assembly process takes place in turn for each individual piece of furniture. Therefore, unpack it one by one so as not to get confused later. We begin to consider the process of assembling furniture from ordinary bedside tables and under drawers.

At the beginning of work, using a pencil and tape measure, be sure to take measurements according to the marking scheme, where the connections and fasteners of the parts will be located. Now, using a screwdriver and screws, we fasten the bottom of the cabinet and the side walls, and then we fasten its upper part. The place, which is still free inside, is checked diagonally with a tape measure (Fig. 1). If they differ from each other by more than 2.5 mm, it is necessary to immediately settle this problem. Usually, everything falls into place either after lightly tapping with a hammer (preferably with a rubber one), or after deepening the screws, or, conversely, twisting them out a little. The correct position of the upper part is checked by the building level.

After that, you can mark the places for the door hinges and install them. We put doors on the hinges, which then, when the cabinet is installed in a vertical position, are adjusted by screwing in the screws, which can be done even with an ordinary screwdriver or chisel, depending on the screw head. After that, you can attach the tabletop to the upper part, which is better to do with self-tapping screws. You just have to attach furniture legs or wheels, which is also done with self-tapping screws.

Back to the table of contents

Assembly of pedestals with drawers

Figure 3. The distance from the table top to the cabinet is usually 500-600 mm.

Things are a little different with the drawer unit. Here, before fastening the bottom to the sides, on their inner part, the so-called rails are immediately marked and attached (Fig. 2), along which these boxes will ride. All this must be done very carefully, constantly making measurements. After all, the slightest deviation can skew, as a result of which the boxes will drive badly enough. Also, carefully calculate the distance between the rails so that large gaps do not form between the boxes in the future and that they are not very densely located one above the other. After all, in the end, everything should work freely without much effort.

Before starting the installation of the fasteners for the drawers, it is advisable to immediately assemble the drawers themselves for the cabinet. To do this, markings are made on the reverse side of the front of the box for fixing the walls and for installing the handle. The side, back and front walls are connected to each other with screws. But there may be such (in cheaper headsets) that the connection of the spike into the hole is provided. Then the markings are usually already done, and you just have to pour wood glue into the hole, where you can then fix the walls with thorns. In this case, it is advisable to additionally fix everything from below with a powerful construction stapler or nails when you nail the bottom.

Make sure that 90 degree angles are observed everywhere during installation. When properly assembled, all parts should be perfectly matched to each other. Now you just have to attach the handle to the front, which is also done in most cases with screws (depending on the specific type of handle). Now just slide the drawers into the closet: if everything works well, then the assembly is done correctly. If not, then you will have to make adjustments with a hammer, and if it does not work out, unscrew everything again and insert the guide "rails" again.

Implementation of the installation of parts of the headset

Figure 4. The rail for the kitchen set is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws.

In this way, all the details of the kitchen set are assembled. When this is done, start with your own hands. You need to start with the markup. So, first put some one pedestal on the floor, and from it measure 50 cm or 60 cm up, whichever is more convenient for you (Fig. 3). Put a point in this place and draw a straight line. This line will show the lower level of the headset. Now the full height of the wall cabinet is added to this line, the point is re-set and a straight line is drawn again. This strip will indicate the top level of the hanging furniture installation.

Now we put the entire headset, which will be at the bottom. To do this, in the rear walls, if necessary, we immediately cut the places for the passage of pipes with a jigsaw or a file. And we treat the cuts with silicone sealant to prevent them from crumbling and deformation from moisture penetration into the thickness of the wood. During installation, we immediately check everything with a building level, and in case of distortions (and this often happens, since the floors in rooms are often uneven) we twist the legs so that all the furniture is level. In extreme cases, you can put special rubber pads under the legs, which are sold in the store.

Now we put specific points on the top strip on the wall where the hooks for hanging the cabinets will be located. Just first measure the distance from the countertop to the lower base of the hanging box and to the upper line once again, and if this happens, correct the markings.

Now we proceed with the installation of the mount for the kitchen set. There are two main types of fasteners: a special metal bus, for which holes are made in the right places, dowels are driven in, after which the bus is applied and self-tapping screws are driven in (Fig. 4). Then a cabinet is already hung on the bus.

The second option is mounting on special hooks. To do this, we drill a hole with a drill, drive in plastic dowels, screw metal hooks into them very tightly, onto which we then put on the cabinet. For more reliable fastening, if the cabinet is heavy enough, there can be not two hooks, but four: two on the top and two on the bottom.

So, the installation of the kitchen set with your own hands is over!

The features of the assembly and installation of the main standard structures were considered here.

In the case of working with non-standard cabinets, there is nothing complicated. It just takes a little longer. But if you follow the drawing clearly, then everything will definitely work out, and you will be sure of the reliability of assembling and installing furniture with your own hands.

A beautiful, comfortable kitchen should include many details. A prerequisite is the presence of a kitchen set that can accommodate all the dishes, kitchen utensils, bulk products and household appliances. This is exactly how multifunctional a set in the kitchen should be. But it is one thing to choose and purchase furniture in a store. And it is completely different to install cabinets and pencil cases in the kitchen. Of course, in any furniture store, buyers will be offered the services of craftsmen. But, installing a kitchen unit is not so difficult. Therefore, any man can successfully cope with this task.

Aids

To assemble the parts of the kitchen set with your own hands into a single structure, you need to prepare auxiliary devices that will help you cope with the task. To work you will need:

  • Drilling tool, screwdriver.
  • A joiner's jigsaw that will help cut off the countertop.
  • Screwdriver, hex.
  • A set of trims for joints and decorative trim plinths.

Stages of work

Do-it-yourself headset installation begins with attaching pedestals and drawers at the bottom of the structure. First of all, they mount the body part, to which the shelves and drawers are attached. In order for the pedestals to be connected into a single strong base, they must be fastened with metal ties and corners. Then, be sure to check how tightly the cabinet fits to the wall. To prevent the top edges from crumbling, they should be protected with a silicone based sealant.

The next step is the installation of facades using metal hinges, which are screwed in with self-tapping screws. Remember that before starting the installation of the kitchen unit, you should take care of removing the sewer and water pipes. Also, gas and electricity are supplied in advance.

Installation of sinks and countertops

The kitchen sink is installed by cutting into the surface of the worktop. Pre-measurements and markings are made, corresponding to the size of the sink. The hole for the sink is cut with a jigsaw. To properly fix the sink, know the design features.

There are two types of sinks:

  • Fastened to the top of the pedestal before installing the table top.
  • With fixing after installing the table top.

However, in both cases, the utility lines must be carried out before the start of the installation work.

Installation and assembly of kitchen sets in the photo involves the installation of a countertop. The dimensions of this element should be 1-1.5 cm larger from the front and end sides than the lower pedestals. The remaining gaps between the countertop and the wall are covered with a decorative skirting board.

Protecting the working wall

Any kitchen has an apron - a wall between the countertop and the upper cabinets. No matter how carefully the hostess prepares food, the apron area becomes dirty with droplets of fat. To protect the wall, many tile it. But another option is also possible - to purchase a kitchen set with ready-made panels to protect the working wall. Such panels are fastened simply using dowels. The color of the protective screens can be very different. But, it is wiser to purchase panels that match in color with the kitchen set.

Upper lockers

The assembly of the kitchen unit continues with the installation of wall cabinets. To secure the locker, you first need to assemble it. Usually, lockers are delivered to the consumer in disassembled form: a separate body and hinged facades. To fix the body part, it is necessary to apply the markings at the level of 60 cm from the table top.

Having outlined this distance with a flat, horizontal line, we indicate the place of attachment of the lower part of the cabinets. To determine the attachment point, you need to measure the height of each cabinet.

As soon as the upper horizontal line is drawn, you can attach the bar necessary to fix the cabinets along it. The plank is fixed to the wall with dowels, and then plumb lines are fixed on the plank. And on the back wall of each cabinet, hooks are attached. After hanging, check that the upper part of the headset fits snugly against the wall. Then the facades are attached to the body.

In order for the installation of a kitchen set by video to go flawlessly, work should be started with the installation of corner cabinets. After assembling with your own hands and installing the structure, it is necessary to tighten each element with special tightening clamps. If, after following this recommendation, gaps and cracks remain between the cabinets, cover them with a special decorative plinth.

End caps and beautiful, graceful corners are used for finishing the end parts.

In custody

In order for the assembly of the kitchen set to go through without problems, it is necessary to carry out the installation step by step. First, the dimensions for the installation of the kitchen unit are determined. Then a markup is created that will clearly show where and how each structural element will be located. If the walls in the kitchen are lined with plasterboard, you should take care of special fasteners that will fix the cabinets on the wall. Having prepared everything you need, you can proceed to the phased implementation of installation work.

You can encounter many non-obvious nuances that we tried to describe in the first part of the article. But ahead is the installation of a headset, which can be puzzling with its "pitfalls".

How does the installation work?

Before hanging cabinets and setting tables, you need to take care of the correct choice of furniture fittings.

Fittings include bolts, screws, hinges, handles, shelf supports, drawer guides - everything that is not made of chipboard.

Let's start with the main point: the confirmation screws. Such screws are often called "Euro screws" and can be purchased at any furniture hardware store. Such a screw is tightened with a special hex wrench or a hex screwdriver bit.

The choice of handles is entirely up to you: in any catalog of accessories you can find dozens and hundreds of their varieties, and depending on the color of the facade, you will have to choose the appropriate handle option.

Loops are also an important point. Exactly the quality of the hinges determines whether the doors open smoothly, how long will the hinges themselves last and will they withstand the load. Standard version - loops with a “cup” diameter of 35 millimeters. It is enough to install two hinges for each door up to 800 millimeters long.

I must say that drilling the facade for hinges at home is not an easy process, and even if you find and buy a special cutter, you will need an assistant when drilling with a drill. The facade must be firmly held, and when drilling, press the drill hard enough so that the cutter does not pull out pieces of chipboard.

If you have no experience in such matters, practice on chipboard scraps: with manual drilling it is easy to pierce the facade through and through, so it is better to order these works from professionals: drilling one hole costs about 30 rubles.

When drilling holes, the main thing is to correctly calculate the indents. The distance you choose will affect the entire installation process.

If you decide to do it yourself, pay attention to the photo:

Note: this is a reliable photo showing the main: the distance from the edge to the BEGINNING of the hole is exactly 4 millimeters.

The best option is 12 centimeters from the top (or from the bottom) edge TO the CENTER of the hole.

We cut into the sink

As a small digression, let us explain some points regarding the choice of a sink. These are not fittings, but a complete element of any kitchen.

The sink can be both invoice and mortise, and they differ in both cost and appearance. Mortise sinks look more representative and are mounted directly into the countertop itself.

Each sink has its own characteristics, so you need to carefully measure before you start shredding the countertop.

An electric jigsaw is used to cut the hole for the sink, but it is impossible to give clear instructions on how to insert the sink: there are many manufacturers of sinks, and each of them makes bowls in accordance with their own ideas about the correct design.

Therefore, it is best to use the instructions attached to the sink or study the materials related to the installation, which can be found directly on the manufacturers' websites.

The rest - from configuration to size - the choice of sink will depend on your tastes and financial capabilities.

What to do with all this ?!

So, all the modules are assembled, the fittings are installed, the facades are fixed, which means you can proceed to the last and most important stage: installation.

We immediately note that you will need an assistant to install, but you don't need to call all your friends: one person is enough, and a large number of people will not speed up the process and will only create chaos in which everyone will interfere with each other.

You will need the following tools:

  • Stepladder or stool;
  • Hammer;
  • Phillips and flathead screwdrivers (or better - a screwdriver with replaceable bits);
  • Pliers and a chisel (just in case);
  • Electric jigsaw and hand saw for metal;
  • Building level (the longer the better);
  • Roulette, ruler and pencil;
  • Impact electric drill (ideally - drill and hammer drill separately);
  • Wood drills of various diameters (in different specific cases, many of them can be useful);
  • Winder drills with a diameter of 8 millimeters (for drilling walls);
  • Dowels complete with screws for them (dowel size - 8x60 mm);
  • Wrenches (may not be useful, but it's better to have);
  • Silicone sealant;
  • Special tie bolts.

Get to work!

Installation always starts from the bottom of the headset. Tables must be set on a level. The vast majority of headsets are made on adjustable legs, which allow you to easily raise or lower tables.

If you have designed tables with a common one-piece tabletop, it should be fastened after all the tables have been leveled, but before that it is better to pull the tables together using tie bolts. The sink should already be attached to the countertop.

After that, you can proceed to the canopy of the cabinets. For this we need a stepladder. One person climbs on to the tables and, together with the assistant, who stays downstairs and helps, lifts the closet. The classic option for fixing cabinets - brackets which should already be attached to the cabinet.

In this case, you need to outline the holes of the bracket ears with a pencil while the assistant holds the cabinet from below.

If the cabinet is equipped with internal brackets, it is immediately hung on a special metal rail, which is pre-attached to the wall.

If the kitchen is corner, the installation begins with a corner cabinet, and it must be leveled. You can read about the design of a corner kitchen with a bar counter.

In the case of a straight kitchen, cabinets also begin to be hung from the corner. An average cabinet 800 millimeters wide weighs about 12-15 kilograms, but it is extremely inconvenient to lift it.

A prerequisite for the installation of a kitchen unit is a clear adjustment.
With the right adjustment, your cabinet doors will open properly and last longer.

In order to facilitate the task, you can first remove the shelf from it, if it is a detachable one, or even remove the facades, however, two men who are not even athletic can cope with this task without removing the door.

After the cabinets are hung, it remains the last but crucial step: adjusting the facades.

The fact is that the installed modules can be skewed: this mainly happens if the furniture is not installed according to the level.

The adjustment is carried out with a screwdriver, the photographs show in detail which hinge screws are responsible for the adjustment, and in the video on installing the headset, this process is clearly presented.

How much?

That's it: the kitchen is installed and cleaned, the doors are adjusted and the furniture is pleasing to the eye. But let's see how much the materials cost, and how profitable was it to spend a few days of your life on this exciting, but not the most difficult task?

Consider the cost of a kitchen set using an example

The cost of the presented direct and not the most complicated headset with a width of 280 centimeters in the store is about 37,000 rubles.

  • This set took about one and a half sheets of chipboard. One sheet of chipboard costs 1050 rubles, the cost of cutting at the rate of 120 rubles per square meter was about the same. The result is 3000 rubles invested in the material. The cost of the softforming facade used is about 900 rubles per sheet 2.5 meters long. This set took about 10 meters of the facade, respectively, its cost was 3600 rubles.
  • The retail price of the melamine edging used for pasting is 3 rubles per running meter. The total cost of the used edging was approximately 220 rubles.
  • The total cost of fittings, including euro screws (retail price 80 kopecks per piece), hinges (50 rubles per piece), as well as glass, decor, sink and handles, was about 3,500 rubles. Due to the low cost, we will not take into account such components as shelf holders and support legs, besides, the price of fittings as a whole can differ greatly in different regions, and therefore it makes no sense to focus on the cost of fittings.
  • Another optional expense item is a tool. If we assume that you have a hammer drill, you can deduct 6,000 rubles from the estimate.
  • Let's not forget about the delivery of material, which can cost from 500 to 1500 rubles, depending on the distance and the total cost of such services in each region.
  • Let's not forget about the friend who helped in the installation, who also needs to be thanked with money or a bottle of good cognac.

Below is a table that details the costs at all stages of work.

Material

average cost

The quantity used in the manufacture of the headset

Total cost for this headset

Explanations and notes

Chipboard

1050 rubles / sheet (sheet size - 2.5x1.5 m)

1.5 sheets RUB 1575

Sawing work

120 rubles / m2 RUB 1,500
Facade 900 rubles / sheet

4 sheets or 10 running / m

3600 RUB The cost is indicated for the "softforing" facade, which was used for this particular headset. When using other types of facades, the cost may vary, but the cost when ordering finished furniture increases exponentially.

Melamine edging

3 rub / rm 70 m RUB 220
Fittings 3500 RUB

The total cost of euro screws, shelf holders, legs-supports, handles, glass, decor, roller guides for drawers, self-tapping screws, dowels for installation and a dish dryer in the wall cabinet above the sink is indicated.

Washing 1900 RUB 1 PC. 1900 RUB In this case, an overhead sink manufactured by Franke is installed. This is one of the inexpensive and high quality models. For reference - the cost of kitchen sinks, depending on the material, type of installation and design, ranges from 900 to 22,000 rubles.

Material delivery

Depending on the region RUB 500-1500 This refers to the payment for the transportation of goods, which varies depending on the region and distance. This item can be disregarded if you have your own car: all the details of such a kitchen can be taken out on your own in 1-2 calls and in a car.
Tool RUB 200-6500 This point is also not necessary to consider if you have an impact drill. It is its cost that ranges from 4000 to 6000 rubles. In any case, 200-300 rubles. it is worth adding to the total estimate, since at home you will definitely not find something you need: the necessary screwdrivers, a level or even an ordinary hammer.

conclusions

As a result, it turns out that in case of self-production of such a headset, its cost will be a maximum of 15,000 rubles... Of course, it's not a secret for anyone that firms specializing in the manufacture of cabinet furniture wind up to 200 percent.

In our case, it turned out a little less, but the difference is noticeable. And now that you've spent a few days making a kitchen set, you may be asking yourself whether the game is really worth the candle.

A significant part of furniture manufacturers produce their products disassembled. This reduces shipping costs and contributes to the safety of packaged parts. If the upholstered furniture is delivered to the buyer assembled, then cabinet cabinets, most likely, will have to be received in separate parts, accompanied by instructions. Self-assembly of kitchen furniture is a way to save money and an opportunity to show your skills. You can order an assembly immediately in the store, but this is expensive, since the cost of the service sometimes reaches 10% of the total price of the kit, depending on the number of items. This can be handled on your own with minimal tooling skills.

Preparatory stage

If the kitchen is assembled with your own hands, then before proceeding with the assembly work, it is necessary to prepare the area, free it from old furniture, check the sockets, wash and dry the walls and floors, which will later be behind the cabinets. The primary preparatory stage begins even before the kitchen furniture set is purchased. At this stage, the planning of the placement is carried out:

  • a room plan is drawn up indicating the size, configuration, stationary structures;
  • a place for the working and dining areas is determined, the issue of the placement of furniture is being resolved (linear, angular, U-shaped);
  • the dimensions, the number of cabinets are calculated, taking into account the stove, refrigerator and other household appliances.

Since the kitchen is a place where housewives spend a lot of time, it is necessary to think in advance (even at the stage of repair) - how and where exactly all the headset items will be installed. It is necessary to be convenient, comfortable, while not forgetting about the aesthetic appearance - the situation should be in harmony with other rooms. If the room is closer to a square in shape, then two walls with hanging cabinets can be distinguished for the working area. It is better to place the refrigerator and the table parallel to the stove and the sink, on top - shelves or wall cabinets.

Kitchen zoning depends on the configuration of the room. The working area is located where the sink and gas stove are installed. The dining area is located against a free wall or by a window.

Since at the time of purchase it is already known where each cabinet will be installed, it remains only to mount and then place all structures in the prepared place.

Assembly instructions

The first step is to check the package contents. To do this, all the details are checked against the received instructions for assembling kitchen furniture. If you find an incomplete set, you need to contact the seller. You should not rush to purchase accessories and fasteners on your own, perhaps the packaging with them remained in the store or the car, the missing parts will be returned on demand. Such a simple action will allow you to avoid unnecessary expenses, as well as eliminate the risk that the purchased items will not fit.

The next step is to carefully study the instructions. It is not necessary to memorize all the actions, since the document can be used at any time while the furniture is being assembled. When you first get acquainted, you need:

  • determine the approximate sequence of work;
  • identify and fold furniture packages in accordance with this procedure;
  • learn to navigate the sections of the instructions.

How to assemble kitchen furniture in several steps:

  • assembly of cabinets from parts in accordance with the instructions;
  • marking of attachment points;
  • placing items in place, securing;
  • tabletop installation;
  • final work.

Before starting the assembly, it is advisable to protect the floor covering; for this, you can use furniture packaging.

Before starting work, you must check the equipment and study the instructions

Wall cabinets

The prefabricated kitchen furniture consists of multiple top and bottom level cupboards. The standard cabinet design consists of two side and back walls, an upper and a lower plane, a front, and internal shelves. Start by attaching the sides to the bottom, then attach the top cover. For connection, Euro screws and a hex screwdriver are used. Check the correctness of the geometric shape at right angles or by measuring two diagonals. The back wall is nailed with a stapler or hammer, depending on the shape of the mounts. Recently, staples have almost supplanted furniture studs.

Drawers

It is generally accepted that installing the drawers is the most time consuming part of the job. But modern furniture has special fittings. Inside the cabinet, markings have been made on the side walls, guide runners are included in the package, the boxes are delivered assembled.

If you purchased a kitchen set with disassembled drawers, then it is easy to assemble and fix the three sidewalls with screws. The front wall is fixed with an eccentric coupler or in another way specified in the instructions. The task of the assembler is to determine to which wall (right or left) the guides are attached. Then the runners are fixed with a screwdriver along the markings. It is advisable to insert the boxes before installing the doors in order to determine the ease of their movement.

After installation, check again how far the drawers move out, whether the door interferes with their movement.

Craftsmen often argue about the sequence in which the installation of kitchen furniture should be performed. But this is a matter of personal convenience for everyone. Any option has its positive and negative sides.

If you start from the top row:

  • it is more convenient to work, since you can come close to the wall;
  • it is more difficult to determine the height for the mountings, as calculations will need to be done.

Starting from the bottom row:

  • it is easier to navigate in terms of height, width and places of installation of the corresponding cabinets;
  • it is more difficult to work with the upper level, since already installed structures interfere.

The installation order is not fundamental, everyone can do as they see fit. Usually, work begins from the sink, and the top row - from the far corner.

At the final stages of the assembly of kitchen furniture, final work is carried out, giving the furnishings a finished look, namely:

  • install internal shelves;
  • they install a sink, taps, connect them to the sewerage and water supply system;
  • attach moldings and other decorative elements, if any;
  • mount the backlight on the headset;
  • connect the built-in appliances to the mains.

Between the countertop and the wall, the space is coated with sealant, the junction is masked with a plinth (purchased separately). After that, the tools and packaging are removed, the hostess is invited to the kitchen, who should appreciate the work.

When planning a kitchen, it is important to determine the size of furniture, the location of sockets, household appliances.

Understanding how to properly install the kitchen, it is recommended to pay attention to the electrical wiring. In order not to spoil the appearance of the kitchen and not to stretch the extension cord after installing the furniture, you will need to immediately outline the places where you plan to connect the dishwasher, hood, LED lighting, and so on.

Figure 1. Layout of sockets in the kitchen.

In this case, it will be produced with a height of 2.39 cm.

It is not recommended to install sockets immediately behind the place where the equipment is installed. A protruding socket with an inserted plug will not allow the technique to fit snugly against the wall. The recommended location of the sockets for the installed kitchen can be seen in fig. 1. All dimensions of the kitchen, the installation of which is being carried out, can be seen in fig. 2.

The first step is to take measurements. The width of all types of kitchen cabinets is in most cases indicated on the packaging. In some cases, the actual width of the corner structures may be reduced. For example, if the width of the cabinet is 60 cm, then when assembled it will be 59.5 cm. That is why you need to measure the assembled elements. It is necessary to remember about the divergence of the walls. These actions will allow you to be sure that the purchased furniture is suitable for the kitchen.

Of the tools you will need:

Kitchen furniture assembly can be divided into 2 stages: assembly and installation.

It is recommended to install the kitchen starting from the bottom. If the table comes with removable legs, then they will need to be attached immediately. In some cases, the supporting parts are screwed to the tables during manufacture. Then all that remains is to insert the legs, putting them in the right position.

The height of the legs will need to be set one level at a time using a locksmith's square.

During the assembly process, you need to fix the mounting plate to make it easier to install the facade elements in the future.

Installation of corner base cabinets

You need to start with a corner base cabinet. In most cases, it is in it that the water supply is located. You will immediately need to make cuts for water supply and other communications. Everything needs to be done in the order of furniture installation. The position of all elements will need to be controlled with a building level and a square.

The most difficult thing is to connect the corner bottom drawers together. The box in which the sink is installed will stand along the wall, and the second element is connected to the first. You can connect the boxes using several laminated chipboard panels. This will make it possible to slightly open the drawers so that the doors can open freely without touching each other.

The box will need to be installed at a distance of 56 mm from the wall to its front. The distance “L” must be chosen based on the width of the front, which is installed on the cabinet. A sink will need to be installed in this element, that is, there will be pipes in it.

During the placement process, you will need to take into account the depth of the second box.

Assembly of floor elements

After that, the rest of the lockers are installed. If the kitchen is linear, then the elements are installed on one side. In a corner kitchen, the elements are installed on both sides.

To make a cut without damaging the part, it is recommended to hammer the back wall of the cabinet later. For example, this applies to the cabinet in which the oven is planned to be installed. In most cases, you need to make a large number of holes in it for sockets, plugs, gas wire, and so on.

When the floor cabinets are assembled, you will need to tie them together, while maintaining the uneven contact along the front and top parts. You can fasten these elements together using self-tapping screws 30 mm long. There is also a more reliable connection option - fastening the elements with furniture ties. Such fasteners will be able to reliably connect furniture to each other. For each sidewalls of floor cabinets, you will need 4 ties, for wall cabinets - 2 ties.

When the cabinets are securely fastened to each other, sawed through the element for the sink. This is a recycled material that sits under the countertop. You will need to install the sink on the top of the cabinet, setting it to the required position. The distance from the wall should be more than 4 cm. This distance is needed to secure the kitchen skirting board.

The sink should be outlined with a simple pencil, then cut out a hole, retreating from the 1 cm line. The size of the sink location will need to be remembered in order to cut into the worktop.

Saw tabletop

It is important to consider the angle of the walls. Most often, the size is determined by the front and back. It will be necessary to overlap 1 mm at the edges or to the wall.

Next, expose the sawn-off piece of the tabletop, measuring the protrusion along the front. If in the future it is planned to make a cutout for the hob, then the size must be made the same. There are no size standards here, everything will depend on personal preference. The size may vary depending on the width of the countertop to be installed and the depth of the cabinets. If on one side the size is 3 cm, then on the other side it should be the same.

Kitchen skirting boards come in a variety of sizes. It is necessary to clarify whether he can close the cracks. If the skirting board does not fit, then a wall panel can be installed. Its thickness can be different - from 4 to 6 mm. You will need to install it below the countertop.

Do not forget about metal profiles. They can be end, corner or connecting. The size of the table top must be sawn, taking into account the width of the profile. With the help of an angle profile, two worktop slabs must be connected at an angle of 90 °. The connecting profile will extend its length.

All sections of the countertop will need to be cleaned of dust. Further, the cut sites are treated with a sealant and closed. End profiles should be fixed to the edges that are near the slab. The sawn-off part of the tabletop must also be treated with a sealant, and then the corner profile must be installed. All profiles are fixed with self-tapping screws.

It is important to use a sealant in order to protect the countertop from moisture.

Before connecting the countertop with the floor cabinets, it is necessary to cut out the opening for the sink so that it can be immediately connected to the countertop.

Installing a kitchen set with your own hands will not only significantly reduce the cost of re-equipping the kitchen, but will also make it possible to ensure the quality of work we need. That is why, when purchasing a kitchen, many of us refuse the services of assemblers and prefer to do all the work ourselves.

In our article, we will describe in detail all the nuances of assembling the main elements of the headset, and tell you how to install it correctly.

Preparatory stage

Before installing a kitchen set, you must carefully prepare and stock up on all the necessary tools and materials:

  • First, we check the complete set of the headset so that at the time of installation we do not accidentally find a shortage of any part or fastener element. If something is missing, you either need to buy this item, or contact the company from which we purchased the furniture.
  • Next, you should prepare the entire tool that we will use when assembling and installing the headset. Be sure to check the performance of the power tool, and if we use cordless screwdrivers or screwdrivers, then we make sure that the batteries are fully charged.
  • We check the performance of the sockets to which we will connect the power tool.
  • We clean the place for assembly from construction debris, remove from the kitchen all items that may be damaged.

Advice! When assembling furniture, there is a risk of damage to the floor covering, so cover it with thick plastic, tarpaulin or non-woven fabric.

You should also prepare all the communications necessary to connect to the headset. First of all, these are water supply pipes, which will be hidden under the sink, as well as a ventilation pipe for connection to the hood.

When everything is ready, you can unpack the headset and start assembling and installing it.

Furniture assembly

We collect kitchen cabinets

Installation of kitchen sets is carried out in the following sequence:

  • First, we collect all the details of the headset.
  • Then - we apply markings on the walls for the installation of hinged modules.
  • We hang the upper cabinets.
  • We collect the lower part by connecting the pedestals with the table top.

It is in this order that our instruction will describe all these operations.

We start assembly from the lower pedestals:

  • First, using the Euro screws included in the kit, we connect the bottom to the side walls.
  • We install the upper planks, on which the tabletop will then lie. Checking the diagonals of the curbstone using a tape measure. If the length of the diagonals differs by no more than 1.5-3 mm, proceed to the next operation.
  • We fasten the back wall of a fairly thin fiberboard using small nails or a construction stapler. To ensure the reliability of the fastening, the step between the brackets should be no more than 8-10 mm.

  • We install legs on the lower part of the curbstone, fixing them with self-tapping screws.
  • We install hinges into the previously made nests and fix them with self-tapping screws, after which we attach the lower facades to the hinges.
  • Having installed the cabinet in a vertical position, we align the doors using the adjusting screws on the hinges.

The final stage of assembly is the installation of the handles.

Collecting drawers

The drawer assembly technology is slightly different:

  • First, we apply markings on the side walls for the installation of metal guides.
  • According to the markings, we strengthen the guides themselves, after which we connect the side walls to the bottom and upper slats.
  • We assemble the retractable elements by installing mechanisms on their side surfaces.

Note! The weak point of such boxes is the bottom. It must be fastened with a construction stapler, hammering in the staples in increments of 5 - 8 mm.

  • We install handles on the front of the box.

It is better to assemble the cabinet body and pull-out elements not immediately, but only after installing the entire headset. This will greatly facilitate all the manipulations for you.

Wall cabinet

This element is easiest to assemble:

  • First, we assemble the "cabinet box" by connecting the bottom, top and side walls with Euro screws.
  • Then we attach the back wall to nails or staples.
  • When the base of the cabinet is assembled, we install hinges into the nests and fix them with self-tapping screws. At this stage, it is better not to hang the doors, as they will complicate the installation of the cabinets on the wall.
  • The final stage of assembly is attaching the hangers. When we have coped with this, we can start installing our furniture.

Note! The assembly procedure for all parts is clearly shown in the video, in addition, the sequence of all operations should be indicated in the instructions that come with the headset.

We install furniture

Installation of hanging modules

We begin the assembly of furniture with the installation of its upper part, since the assembled lower module with the installed tabletop can interfere with the installation of hanging elements.

To begin with, we apply markings on the wall for fastening wall cabinets:

  • We measure the height of the countertop and add to the resulting figure from 50 to 60 cm, depending on our height. This will be the height of the lower edge of the hinged modules.
  • From the line obtained in this way, we postpone the distance to the attachment point of the hanging cabinet and draw another line. It is on it that we will fix the fasteners.

Advice! If the kit includes a corner cabinet, start assembling the upper segment from it, and only after leveling it, start installing all the other parts.

After marking, we proceed to installing the fasteners:

  • If we hang the cabinets on hinges, then we drill holes with a diameter of 8 mm in the wall, into which we drive plastic dowels.
  • We tighten the locking screws with hooks at the ends into the dowels, after which we hang the cabinets.
  • An alternative way is to hang the modules on a special metal rail. To do this, attachments of a special shape are attached to the cabinet itself, which cling to a metal profile fixed on the wall (see photo).

  • The fastening to the tire is considered more reliable, so if possible, use this method, especially since the price of the tire itself and the fasteners is low.

When the installation of the modules is completed, we hang the facades and align them with the adjusting screws.

Bottom assembly

The floor part is assembled somewhat easier:

  • At the first stage, using a jigsaw or a hacksaw with a thin blade, we cut openings in the rear walls of the pedestals for the passage of communications. We treat the edges of the cuts with a silicone-based sealant, protecting the furniture from getting wet and deformation.
  • We install the curbstone in the place allotted to it, set it according to the level, after which we connect it with furniture ties with neighboring curbstones.

When all the cabinets are in place, the table top must be installed:

  • If necessary, we trim the countertop panel to the size of our kitchen, and then install the protective end plate.

Note! When installing the countertop, there must be a gap of at least 5 mm between it and the kitchen wall to prevent deformation.

  • We attach the countertop to the curbstones, and mark the installation site of the sink on its lower surface.
  • After removing the countertop and placing it on a table or workbench, we make a "genzdo" for washing. The easiest way to do this is by drilling several holes with a drill and connecting them with a jigsaw.
  • We install and fix the sink on the countertop, treating the joint with silicone sealant.

  • We put the worktop with the fixed sink on the kitchen cabinets, level it horizontally and flat, and then fix it on the kitchen modules. To do this, you can use special fasteners, or you can simply drive the spikes on the table top into the nests drilled in the walls of the cabinets.
  • We mask the joint between the countertop and the wall with a special skirting board.

This completes the assembly of all furniture. You can connect the sink to the water supply and sewerage system, install household appliances and start operating the kitchen as usual.

If you carefully study all the above recommendations, then you should not have any questions about how to properly install the kitchen set. And this means that you will cope with this work without asking for help from the masters - and thereby provide yourself with not only a legitimate reason for pride, but also significant savings!

High-quality furniture is easy to assemble as it does not require any adjustments. If this is done for the first time, then in case of unclear questions, you can always look at the instructions.

Assembling from off-the-shelf parts is a pretty decent savings, and the money saved can be better spent. The same can be said about installing a kitchen with your own hands.

Let's figure out how to hang kitchen cabinets on the wall so that everything looks beautiful, everything opens and closes well, and it is convenient to use your kitchen.

Before taking on such a responsible matter as the hinge of cabinets, you need to determine the height of the hinge. This is an important factor on which the comfortable headset operation and aesthetics too.

Correct linkage height:

  • The bottom edge of the upper cabinets should be at an average distance of 0.55 - 0.6 meters from the surface of the table top.
  • It is necessary to take into account the growth of the owners of the kitchen.
  • Too low a hinge point can make it difficult to comfortably operate kitchen appliances on the countertop.

However, sometimes cabinets have to be hung on not very comfortable height- higher than the desired one - due to the fact that if you hang it lower, then the design of the kitchen will suffer significantly, since it is necessary to fix hanging cabinets above the refrigerator, install high pencil cases, etc.

There are many fasteners, and each of them is applicable, even the seemingly outdated one. Their main function is to securely hold the cabinet.

When the cabinets are attached to screws or hooks, and a kitchen apron is made of tiles on the wall, it is better to hang the cabinets on a wooden rail, the thickness of which should correspond to the thickness of the tiles, together with a layer of tile glue - then the top elements will hang parallel to the wall.

When the mount is selected, the cabinets are assembled, the hinge remains. If the walls are too uneven, like the corners, then you should think about the correct preparation of the walls.

What do you need:

  • Putty or plaster.
  • A necessary tool.
  • Finish the installation of sockets, lamps.
  • Glue the wallpaper.

Correct installation of the upper cabinets, first of all, presupposes no less correct layout. The comfort of use and the correct design will depend on this.

Markup:

If there are wall cabinets, then you need to start with them.

Often, apartment owners have to decide how to hang the kitchen on drywall.

As you know, such a material is not durable, but we need guarantees of high-quality installation - who wants to see some cabinet ever collapse on the floor?

The problem is still doable.

Fastening methods:

Hanging on foam blocks

The foam block, although not drywall, is still not a durable material: it crumbles easily, when drilling, the hole often breaks even from the slightest beating of the drill chuck. Therefore, everything must be provided for reliable fastening.

  1. Long dowels.
  2. Dowels for foam concrete.
  3. Metal stopper that can be screwed open with a screw.
  4. Self-tapping rail.
  5. Nylon dowels with a diameter of more than 10 mm. They are screwed into the wall.
  6. Chemical anchor. In it, a special capsule breaks during installation, and the chemical composition strengthens the hole, reinforcing it

Installation of cabinets on concrete is very difficult due to the special strength of the wall material. In the presence of a perforator and concrete dowels, the issue is resolved by itself.

Any furniture, as a rule, comes to the client disassembled. You can hire furniture makers to assemble, or you can do it yourself.

Required tools:

Any kitchen disassembled - this is a set of parts from chipboard and MDF, accessories, fasteners. Using all this, you need to assemble the cabinets. The kitchen is mainly equipped with upper and lower cabinets.

Methods for assembling a kitchen set:

  1. In pairs. The wizard assembles the upper and lower cabinet of the headset, and then installs this pair.
  2. First, the assembly of the upper cabinets, and then the lower ones.
  3. The lower elements are collected first, and then the upper ones. For many, it is more convenient to hang the top elements while standing on the countertop.

If you assemble everything at once, and then install it, then you can clutter up the entire apartment, and sometimes this is not possible, especially if the apartment is one-room or is heavily crammed with furniture.

We collect the upper cabinets

Assembling these items is not too difficult. These elements consist of a minimum of parts and fittings.

What are they composed of:

  • Two side walls.
  • Top.
  • Back wall.
  • Doors.

This is at least the simplest type of cabinet designed. However, there is no particular constructive difference.

Tip: it is better to hang the doors after the cabinet is hanging on the wall. This makes it easier to hang the element.

Hinges with an oil closer are very popular, through which the doors are smoothly closed.

Installation of a sink

Before installing a sink, you need to accurately determine its location. based on the exact location of the cabinet.

Step-by-step instruction:

The assembly of floor cabinets is carried out in the same way with the upper elements, with the only difference that the tabletop plays the role of the top, and more is needed at the bottom install legs, which come in different designs, including adjustable.

Once the cabinets are assembled, it's up to the installation. Installation should start from the corner.

Installation:

Nowadays, a great variety of kitchen sets are manufactured and sold. And you need to make your right choice in this surplus of goods.

The most sold kitchens today are:

  • Flora;
  • Provence;
  • Castorama.

They have gained popularity among consumers for their functionality, aesthetics and practicality. These kitchens are designed to suit any kitchen. Based on this, they are produced in a wide variety of standard sizes. That is, they are suitable for both a huge apartment and a small "Khrushchev".

Very comfortable walls are also produced under the name "Flora".

The most popular colors: emerald, pistachio, chocolate, etc.

In conclusion, you need to summarize what has been said. If something is still not entirely clear about the assembly of this furniture, it is better to look at the attached instructions or assembly diagram- this way you will save time and will be spared from alterations.
