Bed made of propylene pipes. Crafts from plastic pipes for all occasions

Whether from a desire to save money, or from an overabundance of imagination, our people learned to benefit from those objects and things that a pedantic European would have long ago sent to the dump. They build greenhouses and make palm trees, they make cute garden figurines, and you can assemble any garden furniture from them. Scraps of plastic pipes left over from repairs can also be used with benefit. They make the simplest decorative things, beds, chairs and even greenhouses - the scope for imagination is huge, and we have collected only the most interesting ideas for crafts from plastic pipes that can serve as a guide to action or a source of inspiration.

Pipe connection methods

Plastic pipes are like construction parts... By combining segments of different lengths and connecting them at different angles, you can get anything: a beginner will be delighted that he has built a simple hanger, and a professional will easily assemble a bunk bed. The main thing is to be able to correctly connect the pipes, and then it will be possible to do any thing necessary in the household.

Plastic pipes are a collective name, and are made from polymers. And are in the greatest demand. Sections of different lengths and diameters remain after the repair of engineering networks in an apartment or in a country house, and, as a rule, they are cluttered in the closets, or rather, they were cluttered until enterprising folk craftsmen began to use them for other than their intended purpose. Plastic pipes are characterized by low weight, high strength and durability, they are easy to clean and safe.

Polypropylene pipes are connected using a special welding machine. It is expensive - it is more profitable to rent it, and it will take a little time to learn how to work with it. Compression fittings can be used to connect. In any case, the assembled product will be non-separable.

When it comes to plastic pipe crafts, usually refer to PVC pipesthat can connect together in the following ways:

  • socket connection with rubber seal... Socket pipes are supplied by manufacturers with a rubber seal located at the end, so that pipe joining is simple and quick, and the joint is tight. At the first stage, the socket of one pipe and the smooth part of the other are cleaned of dust and dirt. A chamfer is removed from the smooth end of the pipe (angle 15 degrees, chamfering tools can be used) and a mark is applied to indicate the depth to which the pipe will enter the socket. The sealing ring of the bell and the smooth part of the pipe are lubricated with a silicone compound and inserted one part into another, focusing on the mark. For plumbing and drainage, this is a good connection, but if you are assembling shelves or furniture, then it is not rigid enough. The main advantages are: simplicity and the possibility of dismantling, therefore, such a connection is used for the construction of temporary structures and things;
  • adhesive bond... The ends of the pipes that need to be connected are chamfered (some simply process the surface with sandpaper), then marks are applied to indicate the depth of the fitting. The ends of the pipes are degreased with methylene chloride, then the adhesive is applied with a brush to the pipe and inside the chamfer or socket. The pipe is inserted into the fitting (or socket), rotated ¼ turn for better distribution of the adhesive, then the elements can be pressed for 30-60 seconds. It is advisable to do all the work quickly. The remaining glue is immediately removed, and the compound is allowed to dry for several hours. The process is more laborious, but the joint is more reliable;
  • flange connection... Individual sections are connected using special fittings. Before performing work, the ends of the pipes are cleaned. A flange is put on the cut, then a rubber gasket onto which the flange is pushed. The elements are connected with bolts with a counter flange. Then the bolts are evenly tightened to achieve alignment of the flanges. The connection is reliable, the design is collapsible.

When the technology of connecting plastic pipes has been mastered, we can assume that almost any craft can be done. It is only important to draw a sketch or make a drawing in advance, and correctly calculate the length of all segments. You can build anything from such parts - we will list just some ideas for DIY plastic pipe crafts.

# 1. Organizer

The easiest way to use the remains of plastic pipes. You can take pipes of small and medium diameter, even small lengths will fit. The first option is a mobile organizer. It is enough to cut segments of different heights and glue them together in any order or adhering to some scheme (for example, one higher segment in the center, the rest around it). Such a stand is suitable for storing office supplies near the desktop or for organizing all kinds of bolts and other fasteners in the workshop.

The second option is stationary. On the one hand, the pipe must be cut at an angle (the most popular option is 45 degrees, but less is possible if small items are stored). Then the cut elements are attached to the vertical surface with. You can mount the organizer elements on the wall or on a specially installed board.

# 2. Decorative frame or partition

Thin rings, which are easy to get when cutting plastic pipes, are a versatile material for creating decor. You can use pipes of different diameters - this is even more interesting. The plastic rings make a wonderful frame. It is enough to draw a layout of the future product on paper in advance and glue individual rings right on it. They can turn out to be both a strict symmetrical pattern, and something chaotic. If you then paint, then such a frame for a mirror or picture will hardly be called a simple craft - it will be a cool design thing.

A decorative partition can be obtained in a similar way. It will take a little longer to glue, of course, but the effort is worth it. The partition will look very interesting, weigh a little and come in handy, for example, to delimit zones in the bathroom.

Number 3. Shoe Rack and Wine Bottle Holder

There are a lot of options to organize the storage of clothes using plastic pipes, and in the implementation of all these crafts are quite simple.

No. 8. Shelving for living room, hallway, pantry

By connecting several pipe sections in the required order, you can get a practical and inexpensive rack that will fully satisfy your requirements in terms of size, shape and configuration. It can be either rather modest in size or a real giant. If the rack is located in the living room, then the pipes can be painted, and glass or plywood can be used as countertops. When it comes to or a workshop, there is no particular need for decoration.

No. 9. Football goal

If the suburban area has, then you can build a small football goal. It will only be necessary to make a few connections, but before that, of course, you will have to carefully calculate and measure everything. When the frame is ready, a net is put on it, and the gate is ready. When the little ones grow up, the product can be disassembled, and the pipes can be reused to create other crafts.

In a similar way, you can make a small children's playhouse. We all once loved to build huts, get together there and play. It was especially cozy and mysterious. The frame for a house made of pipes is made elementary. Children will only have to throw a thick fabric over it and enjoy their own little castle.

No. 10. Playpen for children

There is nothing complicated in the construction of a playpen. However, the finished product in the store is not cheap. A budget alternative is available to those who have a decent amount of plastic pipes in stock, the time and the desire to learn how to connect individual pieces into a solid structure. You will need a lot of pipes to make, so home craftsmen advise you to just buy them in the store - it will still be cheaper than a ready-made arena, and the pipes can then be reused.

After a diagram of the arena has been created with an indication of its dimensions, pipes are cut. Vertical partitions are connected by short horizontal pipe sections at the top and bottom. However, variations are possible in the design of the arena.

No. 11. Chairs made of plastic pipes

Here you will need already confident skills in connecting individual pipe sections. Depending on your desire and degree of preparation, you can make either a simple children's stool, or a comfortable chair for adults, or even an armchair. After the frame is ready, the seat is made. It can be woven from threads, rope, or use a thick fabric. Then you can put soft pillows on top. Having mastered the manufacturing technique, it will be possible to build almost all the furniture for a summer residence.

No. 12. Bunk bed

Yes, it is quite possible to assemble a frame from ordinary plastic pipes. Not only support elements are made of pipes, but also a staircase, and, of course, lamellas under. The level of difficulty here is increased, it is better to take on the work for those who have already tried their hand at making simpler crafts. Do not neglect drawing up a drawing and scrupulous measurements.

A bed made in this way will become a real find for a small country house, because not everyone can afford to buy a ready-made bunk bed for a country house, but somehow it is necessary to solve the problem of accommodation.

No. 13. Garden arch

Arches entwined with plants and flowers look beautiful in the garden. The main difficulty in making a garden arch from plastic pipes is that individual segments will have to be bent. The easiest way to shape the pipes is with a gas burner. A separate area is heated to a state where the material will give in to deformation, then it is given the required shape. Someone decides not to bother and just connect several pipe sections at an angle. Then the upper part of the arch will resemble a trapezoid or polygon in shape. Horizontal elements are attached between the two arched vaults so that in the future the arch is covered with greenery as much as possible. Remember to securely fix the structure in the soil.

No. 14. Alcove

Constructing from plastic pipes is much easier than anyone might imagine. If you take long enough segments, then you don't even have to connect anything. Two pipes of the required length are arched and anchored into the ground. The distance between the elements of the future frame should be such that a dining table or other objects fit. It only remains, and everything is ready.

The design of the gazebo may be slightly different, resembling a house in shape. In this case, you will have to connect the individual elements.

No. 15. Carport

The design itself is simple, but difficulties may be associated with a decent size of the canopy, because it must be wide and high enough so that a car can safely hide under it. The frame is assembled with special care, fastened to the ground and to the adjacent wall, if any, is covered from above with a dense awning fabric, which will protect the car from the scorching sun rays and rain. I can't even call this product a craft - this is already a small architectural form.

No. 16. Greenhouse

A small greenhouse is easy to do. You will need a few pipes, and there will not be very many connections. After the frame is assembled and fixed in the ground, it remains only to cover it with agrofiber. It will be possible to make such a greenhouse in just a couple of hours, and the benefits from it will be enormous.

No. 17. Greenhouse made of plastic pipes

A full-fledged building, of course, is more difficult than a greenhouse. It will take a lot more material, and it will take a lot of time. The size of the greenhouse can be almost anything. The procedure is as follows:

A frame for a greenhouse of almost any shape can be made of pipes, but an arched one remains the most preferable.

No. 18. Seedling containers

If in the country every square meter counts, then it's time to bring the idea of \u200b\u200bvertical gardens to life. Thus, it is convenient to grow greens and some berries. Excellent containers will come out of scraps of plastic sewer pipes if holes are cut in them in advance for seedlings and the outflow of excess water. It remains only to fill the soil containers and arrange the vertical beds one above the other. You can attach them again to a stand made of plastic pipes. Some connect the beds with ropes and hang them from the wall - there are many options.

All pipes must be threaded at the end

1 x 1540 mm;
- 2 x 1000 mm;
- 4 x 930 mm;
- 2 x 880 mm;
- 2 x 530 mm;
- 7 x 350 mm;
- 4 x 120 mm.

In order to connect them together, you will need:

2 couplings;
- 8 tees with female thread;
- 4 squares of 90 degrees;
- 8 leg flanges.

The bed requires wooden slats:

16x40 mm;
- 10x10x2000mm - 2 pcs. (transverse);
- Wooden slats along the length of the bed, directly for the bed.

Additionally:

Wrench;
- Latex gloves;
- Colorless varnish.

Manufacturing instruction

Pipeline preparation

Since the galvanized pipes, from which the bed frame will be made, will stain the bed linen, as well as rust over time, protect them with a colorless varnish. Just do not varnish the threads, otherwise connecting the pipes will give you a lot of trouble.

Assembly

Connect the pipes together, gradually moving towards the head of the bed. It is best to immediately attach the legs so that you do not suffer with them later. After the connection is completed, you can varnish the frame again.

Wooden slats

Place wooden slats on the metal frame, distributing them in such a way that the distances between adjacent ones are equal. When each is in its place, turn the structure over so that the boards are on the floor and the metal pipes are above them. Place the transverse boards in the third tier of this "sandwich" and secure them. If they turn out to be too long, trim off the excess.

Try

For the legs, pipes with a double thread were used, so screw stainless steel flanges onto the bottom edge so as not to spoil the floor and floor covering.
The bed turns out to be strong enough, you can not be afraid if children decide to jump on it.

Headboard

If you decide to make a headboard, then cover both pipes and wooden boards with colorless varnish.

Original post in English

As a rule, after replacement or construction of a water supply system, plastic pipes and fittings often remain. Of course, such material is no longer suitable for reassembling communication networks, but it can be used to make various decorative crafts and practical things.

If you wish and have free time, you can make a chair from polypropylene pipes with your own hands - the assembly technology is very simple and within the power of any home craftsman. Want to assemble original furniture but don't know where to start? We will help you implement your plans.

The article describes in detail three technologies for making different crafts. By following these instructions, you can assemble your own highchair, kitchen stool and portable fisherman's chair.

There is something attractive about furniture made from scrap materials. So, plastic pipes make it possible to manufacture structures of ideal geometric shapes. They will add zest to the interior of the room. In addition, the owner of such furniture will have a great chance to show off to friends that he has created his own masterpiece.

Chairs made of plastic pipes have the following advantages:

  • ease;
  • compactness;
  • strength;
  • ease of manufacture.

And the most important thing is that they can be built with your own hands, in a relatively short time. This will require a minimal set of tools and materials, and a little patience.

You need to start making a chair from polypropylene with the choice of the design of the product and its design implementation. In this case, you need to build on the function that the furniture will perform.

If there are a lot of pipe scraps left, then you can build a chic creative armchair or bar stool from them. To fasten parts, it is not necessary to have an iron for soldering; this can be done using special glue

Having decided on this, they begin to select the parameters of the product: the size of the future structure, its type (collapsible or one-piece), the method of connecting parts. You need to draw an approximate sketch of the future product in order to understand how much and what material will be needed for work.

The design execution of PVC chairs is limited only by human imagination. For ideas, you can flip through interior design magazines or furniture catalogs. It is not necessary to look only at plastic products, ideas can be gleaned by looking at furniture made of any material.

Stools made of plastic pipes can be placed in the kitchen, summer cottage, garage, and just in the yard - everywhere they will look stylish and original.

For trips to barbecues or fishing, you can build folding chairs that are convenient to store and transport when folded, while they do not take up much storage space.

For children, you can make comfortable and bright highchairs by covering the frame made of polypropylene pipes with a fabric of bright colors.

Chair construction process

The creation of an original chair from plastic pipes is quite within the power of any home craftsman or craftswoman. For work, you will need a minimum set of tools, which will certainly be found in every home and, of course, the remains of polypropylene pipes.

Step 1- project of the future chair

At the first stage, you have to decide on the purpose of the chair and its design. If you decide to make a bright highchair for a child, you should definitely take into account the growth of the little owner.

If you plan to use the stool in the kitchen or cottage, so as not to miscalculate with the size, be sure to measure the height of the existing furniture.

Those who first decided to try themselves in this creative and creative work, perhaps, should start by making the simplest design - a stool. It does not require a lot of skills and materials, and after coping with this task, you can start making more complex structures.

Cut a piece of fabric 18 cm wide.It is better to opt for a dense material with a water-repellent impregnation. A piece of tarpaulin may also work.

Using a reinforced thread, sew along the narrow sides of the rectangle so that the holes for the pipes are formed. If threads are pouring out of the fabric, then it is better to tuck it up and sew it on all sides, but allowances must be taken into account even before the fabric is cut

Good afternoon, evening or even night! It is not always necessary to order original furniture from Belgium, Italy or France. Many solutions are implemented by hand. One of them is a variety of furniture made of polypropylene pipes. Usually, under this concept, various sewer, water and heating pipes are combined. They are made of PVC or polypropylene. Moreover, plastic products have wide application possibilities.

If you buy a set of pipes, choose certain dimensions, prepare drawings or come up with something yourself, you can create unique and inimitable pieces of furniture for your home, for a summer residence or for a garden. I somehow happened to make an original pipe swing for a kindergarten. He still serves there, although the child has long gone to school.

Reading reviews and watching videos, you can find a wide variety of life hacks, which tell you step by step about the manufacture of certain elements. Something is suitable for novice craftsmen, while other tasks can only be done by experienced ones. I will not talk about the technology for creating each product, but I will tell you about what can be created from polypropylene pipes.

Connecting elements

Polypropylene or PVC is widely used in such premises as bath, kitchen, toilet. But besides plumbing tasks, they can serve as a great basis for creating original pieces of furniture.

Quite often you can find something like this:

  • shelves;
  • awnings;
  • folding chair;
  • bunk bed;
  • stool;
  • swing;
  • rocking chair;
  • racks;
  • hangers;
  • whatnot;
  • garden furniture;
  • arches, etc.

If you look into your garage or closet, you will surely find there a lot of scraps from old plastic pipes that have turned out to be superfluous after repairs. And for some reason you were in no hurry to throw them away.

I think you just knew that sooner or later you would read this material, and there will be an irresistible desire to make something out of them. But what exactly is still an open question. I would like to start not with what to do, but how to do it.

It is about connecting the elements together in the structures you need. When using plastic products, you must determine exactly what kind of material it is. The most commonly used are polypropylene and PVC.

If this is a polypropylene pipe, then you will need a special welding machine for the connection. I think many people know how much it costs. Buying a device for a single use is a complete waste of money. It's good that there is a rental service. But even the presence of welding does not allow many home craftsmen to achieve what they want. It is difficult to work with such devices and requires special training and solid practice. If you have no experience, and even nowhere to take a welding machine, look for other ways.

An alternative to welding is the use of glue and fittings. Moreover, in the case of polypropylene, I advise you to give preference to compression fittings.

If it is PVC, then a connection with a socket and rubber seals, glue or fixation with flanges is suitable.

Examples of homemade furniture

Homemade products based on PVC or polypropylene have a number of objective advantages. Such designs fit perfectly into a loft-style interior.

In fact, the use of plumbing, heating and sewer pipes is much more extensive than you might imagine. Everything is limited solely by your imagination. Turn on your imagination, look at photos of finished products, and start creating.

Let's look at some interesting solutions. I can't cover the whole range of crafts, but I will single out the designs that attracted my attention:

  • shoe shelves;
  • hangers;
  • coffee tables;
  • chairs;
  • garden arches;
  • gazebos;
  • bed;
  • carport;
  • playpen;
  • racks.

I will try to briefly describe some of them.

If you have any ideas and developments of your own, be sure to share in the comments. It will be interesting to know what you managed to create and how difficult the project was.

Shelves for shoes

An excellent option for using the remaining pipe cuttings with a large diameter. Something like the following is done. It is not necessary to observe the dimensions, but you will understand the meaning.

The shelf is created as follows:

  • the pipe is cut into equal lengths of about 30 cm;
  • elements are connected with glue or self-tapping screws;
  • the required number of sections is made;
  • segments are decorated or painted;
  • pipes are stacked in several rows and layers;
  • a design with the required number of compartments is created;
  • attached to the wall;
  • shoes are laid in the section;
  • if desired, the shelf can be hung or made movable.

It looks extremely original. At the same time, the level of practicality is quite high. And you can do it even easier, as shown in the photo. Works for 30 minutes.

Coffee tables and hangers

Let's start with the coffee table. Everything is extremely simple here. You will need to take several pipes, connect them together to make a frame. A sheet of glass is laid on top, or a tabletop made of another material. Just think about the size in advance, as well as the design. The design looks most advantageous with a glass tabletop.

Now the hangers. But here there is no single idea. There are a huge number of options for implementing a hanger. The easiest is to use one pipe as a base with a stand, from which branches are simply made using a socket or fittings.

Playpen and bed for children

I think the pipe arena is very simple. You just need to decide on the size, make a frame first, and then build up vertical pipes on it. Then the top bar is installed and the arena is ready.

Polypropylene and PVC allow you to experiment with sizes, dimensions and configurations. It is easy to make a round and rectangular arena from such materials, or to set a more complex shape.

The bed can be single or ... Using high-strength pipes with a sufficiently large diameter, you can make a frame, create a comfortable staircase to the second floor, install and even make slats for

With PVC pipes. But greenhouses and sheds are far from all that can be made from PVC and aluminum pipes with different diameters. Furniture, decorative items for the home, organizers, shelves, even weapons - beautiful bows of different shapes. The fantasy of people is constantly being embodied in new PVC forms, and we have made a selection of the most interesting DIY projects for you.

Let's start with home-made furniture made of aluminum and PVC pipes connected with fittings. There are children's furniture, options for adults, cute designs that fit into any interior, and shelves with many shelves.
