Spotlights for the toilet. Choosing a lamp for the toilet Spotlights for bathroom and toilet

Reading time ≈ 3 minutes

When making repairs in the toilet, many people do not attach any importance to the lighting in this room, believing that one not too bright and low-power light bulb may be enough. And it is completely in vain to do this, since usually no one lingers in this room for a long time, so there can be no talk of any kind of energy savings. But if the lighting in the toilet is too weak, then only some discomfort can be felt.

The importance of toilet lighting

Even with the most stylish and correctly selected finishing material for this room, the walls and floor will look faded and ugly if you don't think about lighting. As in any other room, every person in this small room should feel comfort and coziness. But when making lighting in this room, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions and total area of this room. For example, if it is necessary to carry out the lighting of the toilet in the Khrushchev, then it should be brighter, since the area here is very small and with dim lighting the walls seem to be squeezed on the sides.

The approach to lighting in this room should be very different than in all other rooms. The thing is that there is natural light, which in the daytime we fill the rooms with light, bringing warmth with us. And in a confined small space, only a brighter light can drive away darkness and gloom. But the right material for wall, floor and ceiling decoration will also be of great importance.

Luminaires used

If you look at the photos of the lighting in the toilet, which are attached to this article, you can understand which lamps can be used here and how they can be positioned. Luxurious sconces on the walls and spotlights on the ceiling are suitable here. When choosing lamps, it is worth considering which walls are in the toilet, what color they are and what material was used for decoration.

In a small room, it is better that the walls are light in color. This applies to both wallpaper and tiles. The floor can be darker, more contrasting. If the walls are light and the lamps burn brightly, this will help to visually expand the space. When choosing luminaires, consider the design style of the washroom. In this case, the ceiling should in no case be darker than the walls.

Spotlights can be installed both on the ceiling and on the walls. If possible, it is better to combine them with

Lighting plays an important role in creating an attractive modern bathroom interior. Good light in an enclosed space creates a comfortable environment. A variety of lamps in the bathroom and toilet is necessary for proper lighting of work surfaces and space zoning. In addition, we must not forget about safety, since high humidity and frequent temperature changes impose special requirements on lighting in the bathroom and toilet. Let's take a closer look at these issues, and learn how to install lamps in the bathroom on our own according to the European standard and our own needs.

Bathroom lighting can be divided into three types: overhead lighting, decorative lighting and spot lighting.

All lamps are not often used separately, as a rule, they are combined. Together, they provide the most successful light, making the room comfortable and functional. Each of the types of lighting is divided into subspecies: chandeliers, lighting around the perimeter, built into the ceiling, lamps.

Design matching the light and style of the bathroom

Do not forget about the design matching of the fixtures and the style of your bathroom. The choice of a luminaire should also be based on the stylistic solution of the room. For example, austere metal fixtures will look silly in a Japanese-style bathroom, where the emphasis is on soothing warm tones. And lighting fixtures with clear lines in the form of geometric shapes will harmoniously fit into the bathroom with an ultra-modern design. This is where the material can be metal, plastic or chrome.

The ratio of the size of the lamp and the area of the bathroom

The size of the lighting device also determines the area of the room. The hanging model is not installed on a low ceiling; in this case, choose a ball-shaped lamp or a plafond - a plate. Do not choose models with a plastic or colored glass case, they distort the light, and therefore a closed-type shade made of transparent or matte white material will be the best solution.

Illumination level: calculation by bathroom area

When installing the light in the bathroom or toilet, adhere to the lighting standards, they will save your eyes. For a bathroom in accordance with the European standard, the illumination rate is 200 lux: if one lux is equal to one lumen (direct luminous flux per 1 sq. M. Area), then for a bathroom with an area of 5 sq. M. m you need 1000lm (lumens). Now let's convert these numbers to watts. The light flow in the bathroom will always be direct and the ratio 200lx = 200lm / m2 is ideal. Consider several types of lighting fixtures, for example, a 75W incandescent lamp produces a luminous flux of 935lm, this is enough for a room of 5m2 according to ISO 8995. Here are some more examples:

  • halogen incandescent lamp 230V 42W -900 lumens;
  • induction lamp 40W - 2800 lumens;
  • LED lamp 230V 10W - 860 lumens;
  • LED from 40 to 80W - 6000 lumens;
  • sunlight - 3.63 × 10 28 lumens.

If light colors prevail in the bathroom decoration, choose the minimum values, the maximum ones with a dark finish.

Now you just select the lamps you need and in the amount you need to properly illuminate your room. .

Bathroom lighting safety

GOST prescribes to divide the bathroom into special security zones. At the same time, each of them has its own requirements for laying wiring and arranging lighting.

Scheme for the requirements for luminaires, depending on the distance from water sources.

Zone 0 - type of protection IPx6 - these are the areas located in the bath and under the shower. It is allowed to use electrical appliances with a capacity of no more than 12 volts here. Zone 1 is an IPx4 type of protection - it starts from the top edge of the shower stall or bathtub and extends to the ceiling. Here you can install more complex devices, for example, water heaters. But provided that they have good waterproofing. Zone 2 - type of protection IPx4 - this zone is located within a radius of half a meter from the first. Less protected devices and lamps are installed here. Zone 3 - type of protection IPx0 - here you can install conventional sockets and luminaires without special protection. It is located at a distance of at least 2 m from the bath or shower.

Install a hygrostat that will start the fan in time and dry the room in order to prevent an accident.

Rules for the operation of electricity in the bathroom

Remember that electrical boxes, taps and distributors must not be installed in all areas. Use an RCD when installing the wiring. Then, if moisture gets inside the devices or on the wiring, a short circuit will not occur. All electrical appliances installed in the bathroom must be equipped with an anti-drip coating designed to protect against leaks. The use of tees and extension cords in the bathroom is prohibited and this must be taken into account when placing lamps in it - the appliance must be connected directly to the outlet, and it must be waterproof.

Bathroom socket with safety shutter

It is impossible to install the sconce above the bathroom - the lamp may burst due to contact with the water of the heated plafond.

There is a way out, and it depends on the size of the room. If the ceilings in your bathroom are high, then install spotlights at a great distance from the water. This is the case when products with a low degree of protection can be used. In the event of a short circuit, the transformer will turn off, block the flow of current into the problem area of the wiring and prevent ignition.

Installation of electrical wiring in the bathroom: basic principles

So, the lighting fixtures are selected according to the level of illumination and safety. It remains to mount them. Let's say you don't just decide to buy a couple of new lamps for your bathroom, but want to completely change the entire lighting scheme, or, more simply, make a major overhaul in the bathroom. Here are some simple tips to help you do it yourself safely and efficiently. Perhaps the advice will be useful to those who want to track the work of electricians for reliability.

Rules for laying electrical wiring in the bathroom

Types of cable for the bathroom

Before proceeding with the replacement of electrical wiring, it is necessary to disconnect the existing cables from the current in the junction box. It is necessary to make sure that all electrical devices are de-energized using the indicator. It is necessary to perform the slitting of the ceiling and walls to the required points where it is planned to install one or another electrical device for the installation of a new power line. You can lay the cable using corrugations, and so that the wire does not fall out, it is fixed with plaster. Special clamps are also suitable for the basis of the fasteners, which are pre-mounted in the grooves, and then a corrugation with a cable is inserted into them. After completing this stage, the wires in the junction box are connected.

It is better to place the junction box in a room adjacent to the bathroom to avoid moisture getting inside. If all the work is done correctly and there are no closures, the strobe is closed.

Cable installation in grooves

The wires are brought out to the appliance in the place where it will be located, and an end about 25-30 cm long is left. We do the same with the lamps that will be on the floor.

If several lamps will be turned on by one switch, connect them in series, instead of pulling a separate wire from each of them.

For convenience, you can write and hang the name of the cable on the phase wires of the lamps, so that you do not get confused later. Then all electrical appliances are attached. We examined the features of installing the main type of wiring - hidden. But if you decide to lay the cable in an open way, protect it with a corrugation.

Installing lamps in the bath: video installation guide and photo ideas

We begin to fix the lamps in the bathroom from the ceiling. The first option is shades or plates. On a concrete ceiling, this device is strengthened with hardware, which usually come with a lighting fixture. If the ceiling is wooden, then everything is easier - we fix it with screws or self-tapping screws. The sequence of work is as follows:

  1. turn off the power supply
  2. we clean the ends of the wires and connect them to the terminals of the plafond - when twisting, the wires are clamped.
  3. then we fix the base of the plafond and screw in the lamp
  4. we check the connection and install the decorative cap of the plafond.

If you have spotlights, then study the video material, and you can easily mount this type of light in your bathroom or toilet.

This type of bath and toilet lighting is very popular, versatile and safe.

LEDs in the bathroom: installation of LED strip, photo ideas

LED ceiling lights for bathroom and toilet are the most economical. They almost do not heat up, but due to their positive qualities, they have a rather high cost. However, they are in demand because their efficiency justifies the cost. Stores offer a truly huge selection of ceiling LEDs.

LED bathroom fixtures

Not only decorative lighting, but also local illumination of mirrors, washbasins, shower cabins, linen cabinets can be an LED strip. Its installation is not difficult and anyone can master it.

Halogen lamps

This type of lamp has undeniable advantages: they are not afraid of moisture, are very compact with an effective glow and consume little electricity. However, using them is not always easy. Often there are products that operate exclusively at 12 volts. Therefore, installing them in the bathroom will require the installation of a special transformer. Above, we have already cited as an example the use of this device. But this is an expensive pleasure. We do not recommend saving money, since cheap transformers are very noisy and quickly fail.

Bathroom light zoning

Of course, the ideal option is a spacious bathroom with a large window to the street. Such a bathroom will give its owners the least worries in the choice of lighting. Artificial light in such a room is also necessary, but it is designed only for the dark. Basically, you can limit yourself to ceiling lamps and lighting of work areas.

Bathroom with natural light from the window and illuminated work areas

Bathrooms with a window are not common; unfortunately, in standard houses we have to be content with very cramped spaces. They require high quality and bright lighting. But no matter what bathroom you get, it needs lighting products of various brightness and design.

Many people think that choosing a lamp for a bathroom or toilet is simple. In fact, now there are so many of them in stores that your head will spin! We will advise you which lamp is best for your bathroom or toilet.

Despite the fact that the task for all lighting fixtures in the house is the same, bathroom fixtures are very different from their counterparts. After all, firstly, the bath and toilet are small rooms.

Therefore, large lamps, into which 3 or 5 lamps are screwed, are useless there. A much better light fixture for one large light bulb, a couple of light fixtures for medium light bulbs, or small spotlights.

Secondly, the humidity in the bathroom is increased, so lamps with shades are needed. Otherwise, you will not be enough light bulbs. And when the contacts of the lamp oxidize (and this will happen soon), it will be covered too.

However, do not think that because of them, such lamps are inferior in design to others. Just the opposite!

You can easily find bathroom fixtures in Art Nouveau, hi-tech, classic, Japanese styles, etc. To make it clearer what is hidden under these words, let's look at some specific examples with photos from the wikimart.ru online store.

1. Recessed (spot) luminaire Arte Lamp Brilliant(for the prices of lamps, see the price list on the website http://home.wikimart.ru ) in the classic style.

This style is characterized by the absence of unnecessary details, dim lighting, wall lamps and side mirror lighting. And the wall lamp in the photo is fully consistent with this description.

However, if you want to buy something like this for your bathroom, you will have to install additional lights.

3. Wall-ceiling lamp Lussole Acqua LSL in high-tech style.

Wall and ceiling lamp Lussole Acqua LSL

There are no frills in this lamp - this is the requirement for high-tech. It is made of glass and metal, and the color is silver gray.

For more information on what kind of lighting is suitable for bathrooms and toilets in different styles, read the article on our website: Options, norms, types of lighting. Correct arrangement of lamps in the bathroom.

Types of bathroom fixtures

It is simply necessary to know this when choosing a lamp for the bathroom. Bathroom fixtures are divided into groups according to several criteria:

Location- on the ceiling, wall, floor, built-in mirror or shower.

Moisture resistance- waterproof (waterproof, moisture resistant) and ordinary lamps. It is no secret that the former are specially designed for rooms with high humidity, including bathrooms. Therefore, they are made only from moisture-resistant materials. And the design of such lamps is so well thought out that neither moisture nor dust gets inside.

By the way, all luminaires have an IP protection index. It is designated by two numbers, for example, IP 47. Where the first number (0-6) is the degree of protection against mechanical damage, and the second (0-8) is moisture. For bathroom fixtures, protection against damage should be at least 4, and against wetting - at least 6 points

Types of recessed luminaires

By placement method they are divided into built-in (or embedded) and open-source. In another way, these groups are also called spot and pendant / wall lamps for the bathroom.

By lamp type, or rather, according to the type of thread for the base, lamps are divided into halogen, LED, fluorescent (energy-saving) and incandescent lamps. Moreover, in the same lamp, as a rule, you can twist different bulbs. After all, the bases of almost all bulbs are approximately the same.

And finally, according to the material of the lamps are divided into metal-glass and metal-plastic. The latter have a plastic shade that transmits less light than a glass one.

Where to buy bathroom fixtures?
You can buy any kind of lamp for the bathroom in any hardware store or light center. But if you are looking for something specific, it is more convenient to make a purchase in the online store. And it would be better if there was a thorough filtering system for goods. For example, as in the online store wikimart.ru. There you can find fixtures by price, brands, power, and so on.

Which light bulbs are best for the bathroom?

It is necessary to understand better the light bulbs for the luminaires than the luminaires themselves. It sounds paradoxical. But if you think about it, the light comes from the bulbs. Therefore, let's consider the main characteristics of all their types, taking into account the operating conditions in the bathroom.

Incandescent lamps

These are lighting fixtures that contain a metal spiral. And when a current is passed through it, friction arises, as a result of which light is born. In this case, the spiral itself is in a vacuum or a vessel filled with an inert (not entering into chemical reactions) gas. Otherwise, it would quickly oxidize and break.

Candle-shaped incandescent lamps

The power of such bulbs, like all others, can be different - from 15 to 1000 W (watts) per hour.

However, only 15 to 40 watts are used in the bathroom. After all, the more power, the higher the temperature on the surface of the lamp - sometimes it reaches 250 ° C! And this is very risky, especially with spotlights built into plastic panels or stretch ceilings.

The operating voltage, which is necessary for the light bulb to light up, is 220-240 V (Volts), as in the mains, and less - 12, 24, 36 V. Moreover, in the latter case, the bulbs shine stronger, but at the same time it is much safer for the bathroom.

If you are using light bulbs with a voltage of less than 220V, or just want them to last longer, you need to install a transformer. This is a power adapter that reduces the flow of electricity to the desired level and prevents surges in energy from which the lamps quickly burn out.

It is easy to understand which transformer is needed. Sum up the power of all lamps and add another 10% of the total to this. The resulting number is the required power of the transformer. Connect the luminaires to it in parallel. And make sure all wires are the same length. Otherwise, those bulbs that are further away will burn dimmer.

Halogen (halogen) lamps

Halogen lamps are inserted into the luminaire using a special plug
the same incandescent lamps, only with halogen vapors instead of vacuum or inert gases. Therefore, the service life of such bulbs is increased by 2-3 times.

Also, due to this gas, the light output of halogen lamps is significantly increased. That is, if an incandescent lamp emits 4-15 Lm (lumens) of light per 1 W of its power, then these have 15-22 Lm.

This means that halogen lamps with a power 2 times less than if you had incandescent lamps are enough for you. Consequently, the electricity consumption for such lamps will be half as much.

The surface temperature of halogen lamps during operation is slightly lower - 150 ° C. But the light temperature, which rises with an increase in light output, on the contrary - from 2700 to 6400 K (degrees Kelvin). Therefore, the light goes more into the blue color spectrum, and not red, like incandescent lamps (up to 3000 K).

For a bathroom, it is better to take halogen lamps with an average temperature of 4200 K. They are also called fluorescent lamps.

Despite all the advantages (the temperature of 150 degrees does not count, it is rather a minus), halogens have a big drawback - they cannot be touched with bare hands during installation and can be easily shaken off. Therefore, many do not risk buying them.

Fluorescent (energy saving) lamps

Energy saving lamps take one to several seconds to light up.
in which an electrical discharge is converted into light using mercury vapor. And, as you know, these lamps are unsafe if broken. However, this rarely happens, and they serve faithfully for much longer than their aforementioned comrades.

Samples of luminescent lamps

Energy-saving lamps also have advantages. For example, if lamps with a low power are taken to the bathroom (and they are not needed with a large one), then a transformer is not installed for them. They already have a built-in ballast (ECG), one of the functions of which is to regulate the supply of current.

The light output capabilities of such bulbs are even wider, as is the wider light temperature threshold. However, you cannot apply all this in the bathroom. Indeed, as in the previous case, only fluorescent fluorescent bulbs of daylight, designated with the letter D.

LED lamp

As the name implies, they consist of several dozen LEDs - electronic elements capable of conducting current. In shape, they are more reminiscent of cells in a hive or pomegranate seeds.

LED Spot Light

The luminous efficiency of such lamps is already 10 times higher than that of "Ilyich's bulbs" and reaches 150 lm / W. Service life is 25 times higher. However, according to scientists, they are very harmful to the eyes when they look directly at them. How true this is is unknown. After all, we sit at the computer for hours - and nothing. Although, if you think about it, the LEDs on his screen are much smaller in size than in bulbs.

To make it easier for you to weigh the pros and cons, we have compiled a table in which we compared the performance and prices of different types of lamps.

What are the best bathroom fixture lamps?

Bulb type Service life (hours) Luminous efficacy (lm / W) Filament color temperature (K) What are the disadvantages Prices (rub.)
Incandescent1000 4-15 2200-3000 When working, they get very hot15-100
Halogen2000-4000 15-55 2700-6400 Heat up, very fragile30-130

LED50 000 50-150 2700-10 000 Possibly negatively affects vision180-1000

The exact characteristics in all parameters depend on the power (W) of a particular lamp, and the service life also depends on the operating conditions.

Information and reviews about manufacturers

Bathroom with two lights

Moreover, the first two are more specialized in wall and ceiling (built-in). The second and third are open. And the fourth and fifth - on both of the above groups of bathroom fixtures.

To understand which of these brands is the best, we looked at reviews from various forums.

Unfortunately, no one has written about lamps specifically for the bathroom. But they left feedback on the lighting fixtures for all the other rooms. And, according to them, all brands are very beautiful and easy to use. For example, the user tvelo n on the Otzovik forum he writes: “I bought myself an Odeon lamp and am not overjoyed! It looks rich, and the light can also be adjusted. "

How do I use the more comfortable view? Expert advice await you on our website

However, many note that the market is now full of Chinese counterfeits. They cost almost like the original, but in quality they are significantly inferior. There are also dissatisfied reviews that Massive, Odeon and Lussole fixtures are difficult to care for. After all, their plafonds are often made of rough glass, which collects dust well, but is difficult to wash.

Well, in general, consumers are satisfied with all brands. After all, as most of them write, the lamps work properly, and light bulbs (halogen and energy-saving) rarely burn out in them - only once every one and a half to two years.

What toilet light should be like in the 21st century

Previously, it was believed that it was enough to realize the light in the toilet with one small lamp, which is turned on from the outside by pressing the corresponding switch. But it's already 2016 and I personally decided to keep up with the times, using modern technological advances. I will tell you what came of it later.

Selection and installation of a light source

A wall lamp, sadly sticking out from the ceiling, consisting of one incandescent light bulb, has probably been in every toilet of multi-storey buildings, and in some it has remained to this day. At least that was the case for me before I took up the reforms.

This option was considered optimal for a bathroom, which is absolutely not true, which I will now prove to you:

Debunking myths

  1. The first myth - saving... The fact is that visits to the toilet are not very frequent and short-term anyway, so it practically does not affect your family's budget in any way;

  1. Myth two - no need for brighter light... Like: "what is there to consider such a thing?" But actually, being in a cramped space, shrouded in twilight, has a very negative effect on the mental state of a person up to the danger of claustrophobia.

And if an adult is quite able to endure such conditions, albeit without much comfort, then if there are children in the apartment, it is better not to risk their health and state of mind.

Benefits of LED Downlights

So what, looking back at the above, should be the lamp in the toilet? I will not torment for a long time, I gave my preference to LED point models for the following reasons:

  1. Energy saving... Even realizing that the light in the bathroom is rarely turned on, you still want to make it more economical, such is human nature, and the lighting devices in question quite successfully cope with this task;
  2. Sufficiently bright but not cutting light emitted... As a result, four lamps installed in the corners immersed my toilet in a soft and all-encompassing glow, excluding any depressive moods;

  1. Simple flush-mounted installation, easy to do with your own hands. Fortunately, a little earlier I sewed up the ceiling with plastic panels, so all that remains to be done, in fact, is to cut out the seats for the instrument sockets in them and extend the wiring to them from the location of the old light bulb. I will describe this process in more detail below;
  2. High level of protection against high humidity levels... Of course, the toilet is not as damp as the bathroom, but extra precaution will not hurt, but the owners of shared bathrooms need to be as careful as possible in this matter.

Current offers

Before you install the LED light, you need to buy it. I will give the characteristics of some models, along with their cost, so that you can navigate for yourself:

  • Model "011278 Piano ip mini":

  • Model "A601 W Ambrella":

  • Model "006410 MEDUSA CR":

As you can see, the price fluctuates for the most part depending on the shape of the fixture. But here it is desirable to do it all the same focus primarily on the moisture resistance of the device rather than its originality.

Installation of a spotlight

Above, I have already noted the ease of installation of point lighting devices, now I will describe in more detail how I did it:

  1. By inserting a crown of a suitable diameter into a cordless screwdriver, I drilled a hole in the plastic ceiling at a predetermined place;

  1. Through the hole we made got the right wire having previously de-energized the electrical network;

If you can't reach the cable with your hand, then use a piece of wire bent into a hook for this purpose. Such a device will easily fit into a standard cut-in hole.

  1. Further made the connection of wires to the lighting fixture itself;

  1. Then passed the lamp into the prepared seat and fixed it with special springs;

  1. The final action put on decorative protection;
  2. Turned on the power to check the operability of the lighting device, then turned it off again and moved on to the next point.

If your bathroom is spacious enough to hold a mirror in it, then installing LEDs in its frame will be a very interesting option. This move looks just amazing, but in my apartment the toilet is of standard small size, so I could not implement it.

Automation of turning on the light

So, in the end, after all that has been described, I got a modern, economical, abundant, but at the same time not cutting the eyes, lighting. If your layout of an apartment or a private house also includes a small toilet, then I think that four point light sources will be enough for you, although their number can be increased or decreased depending on the situation.

But this is not all that a bathroom should have today. Automatic backlighting is what I decided to implement in the next step. What for? I'll explain everything now:

Benefits of automatic lighting

  • Noticeable energy savings... Yes, yes, yes, at the very beginning I wrote that the stay in the toilet is not so long that the light bulb had time to “wind up” a lot, but this is in the event that you turned on the light, entered, coped with all the matters, went out and turned off his.
    And what if, suddenly, they forgot to turn it off, which is especially often the case with children who are always in a hurry somewhere? Then the lighting fixture can burn unnecessarily for a very long time, "burning" your money. Automation completely eliminates this problem.;
  • Ease of use... You do not need to press anything, you do not need to reach anywhere, you just need to enter. Not only is it just convenient, especially, again, for the smallest family members, it also excludes the possibility of accidentally turning off the light outside, for sure many have had such an unpleasant occasion more than once at the most unfortunate moment.

Sensor selection

Automatic switching on of the light in the toilet can be carried out by connecting one of three types of sensors:

  1. Sound... It is activated with the help of sound, which, as a rule, is set in the range of 40-50 dB, which corresponds to a hand clap. It has two regulators on the body, one of which is responsible for the level of the noise that closes the contacts, and the second for the duration of the period when the device is turned on.
    It is sold in a wide variety of variations, allowing you to easily choose the model that best suits your toilet. Their price starts from about 350 rubles.

Plus: the ability to set to turn off, that is, a second pop will bring darkness. Sensors operating on other principles must withstand the set cycle of the circuit.

Negative: short range, requiring close proximity to the device. And if you apply a supersensitive model, then fake inclusions from extraneous noise will become more frequent;

  1. Ultrasonic... It has a very small size, which makes it easy to disguise, and a high response speed. The principle of operation consists in the propagation of ultrasonic waves with a length of 20-60 kHz by the apparatus, the intersection of which due to the Doppler effect causes the circuit to close. The cost of such a device also starts at about 350 rubles.

  1. Infrared... The presence sensor has a lens system that focuses infrared radiation, directing it to a special high-sensitivity sensor. When the radiation strength reaches a certain intensity, as is the case due to the appearance of a person in the controlled area, a circuit closure is triggered, which lasts for a while. The cost of such devices is already somewhat higher, since it starts from 600 rubles.

The disadvantage is the frequent false alarms that can occur due to various temperature fluctuations, formed, for example, as a result of turning on hot water or the operation of an air conditioner.

I chose a motion sensor for my toilet, working due to the propagation of ultrasonic waves. By the way, you can even immediately buy an LED lamp with such a built-in system, although it will cost significantly more. So, for example, the model "IEK 3237D", shown below, will cost you around 1,700 rubles:

The connection process after I practiced with the lighting devices themselves was not difficult. For you, I have also provided auxiliary schemes above. In a nutshell, it's simple you need to include the purchased device in the circuit between the power source and the lamps.

By the way, you can even make music play in the toilet when the lights are turned on, but this is absolutely not for everybody, as many people prefer to "reflect" in silence.

Conclusion

The lighting system of the toilet can be refined in two stages. At the first, the old light source should be replaced with fixtures that better meet the needs of today's consumer, for which I have chosen spot LED models. On the second stage, to automate their work by connecting a special sensor, an ultrasonic device perfectly coped with this task. As a result, the whole family is happy with a bright and "smart" bathroom.
