Do-it-yourself pouffe with a back. Do-it-yourself ottoman from chipboard with a lid

In order to have a new comfortable and original piece of furniture in your home, it is not at all necessary to go to the store and spend a lot of money. Of course, it’s better to buy a sofa or a bed, but it’s not difficult to make such an interior detail as an ottoman with your own hands.

In addition, if you decide to start making an ottoman, you can make it the one that will best suit your design.

You can choose the desired shape, material and color. However, this is not the only advantage of homemade ottomans, since its manufacture may cost nothing at all.

Soft puffs

The easiest way is to sew a frameless soft ottoman yourself. To make it, you only need a piece of fabric, stuffing material and a sewing machine.

Although if there is none, then it is quite possible to do without it by sewing all the details by hand. In order for your ottoman to be even and look beautiful, you need to make a pattern out of paper. It should be a square, at the ends of which triangles will be located.

According to this template, it is necessary to cut out 8 identical parts from the fabric, not forgetting to leave allowances for the seam. Moreover, you can use both one piece of fabric, and materials of different colors and textures for each of the parts cut out according to the pattern.

After all the details are ready, you need to stitch them together to form a figure similar to a ball. And in order for the ottoman to be stuffed, bend the top on the triangle of each of its parts inward.

Filler

In order for the pouf to keep its shape, a synthetic winterizer or foam rubber is well suited. But other materials can also be used. As such, even scraps of fabric are suitable.

To give the ottoman a finished look, you need to close the remaining hole by sewing a circle of material with finished edges. If the edges of a round part are difficult for you to process, then it can be cut in the shape of an octahedron.

You can simplify the task and sew a pouffe from two round parts that will be the top and bottom of the product, and two rectangular parts that are the sides of the pouffe.

The height of the ottoman can be adjusted by the width of the rectangle. But the length should always be equal to half the length of the cut circle.

By sewing rectangular parts, stitching a circle to them and filling them with filler, you can get a round ottoman that will be soft and light. It will become not only a practical piece of furniture, but also a wonderful toy for children, which is impossible to get hurt.

A cube-shaped ottoman is made in the same way. In this case, instead of two rectangular pieces and two circles, you will need 6 squares. Making a cube out of them is not difficult. And if a hidden zipper is sewn into one of the faces, then it will be possible to change the filler and wash the cover.

Pouffe from plastic bottles

An ottoman can be made with your own hands and from plastic bottles. They, of course, must have the same volume.

To do this, the upper part of the bottle, where it begins to narrow, must be cut off and put on the part left without a lid on another bottle of the same type. Repeating this procedure with other bottles, we form a round design of them.

In order for the bottles not to deform and the pouffe not to lose its shape, we fasten them with adhesive tape.

A little trick is that a bottle located inside other similar ones, fastened with ordinary transparent tape, can be pasted over with double-sided tape and glued to the inside of the other bottles.

Note!

In order to close the upper and lower areas, it is necessary to cut a circle from cardboard or chipboard according to the diameter of the connected bottles. We glue foam rubber to these circles, and wrap the pouffe outside with it.

It remains only to sew a cover for the finished ottoman. On the circle of its upper part, you can sew a zipper.

Such furniture will save filler. And if the cover is made of raincoat or water-repellent fabric, then such furniture can even be placed on the street.

In addition, as you can see in the photo, round ottomans, made without a frame and containing plastic bottles inside, practically do not differ in appearance.

Pouffe with cover

In order to make a pouffe similar to those sold in stores, carpentry skills and some tools are needed. To begin with, it is worth cutting out 4 rectangular parts from chipboard 33 wide and 40 cm long.

Note!

Use wooden blocks to fasten them together. A square with a side of 40 cm is attached below. As a result, you should get a kind of box.

This blank from the inside with the help of a construction stapler can be sheathed with material. The square, which will act as a cover, is also sheathed with material from below. And the top, before being covered with upholstery fabric, is pasted over with foam rubber in order to give the ottoman softness.

Along the entire outer perimeter, the pouf, like the lid, is wrapped with foam rubber. And only then upholstered with material. Loops are used to attach the lid to the cube. To give this piece of furniture mobility, you can attach furniture wheels to the bottom.

It is even easier to make an ottoman with a lid from a bucket, large pot or other utensils and equipment.

The main thing is that, like a pouf, they have a removable or opening lid. Then you just need to wrap the workpiece with foam rubber or other soft material and put a cover on it.

All homemade ottomans can perfectly fit not only into the interior of the apartment, but it is also a great option for giving or outdoor recreation. After all, ottomans are light, mobile due to their size and comfortable pieces of furniture.

Note!

They are very suitable for children's rooms, giving the kids the opportunity to comfortably sit on them, or even build castles using pouffes as blocks.

It is much more convenient to use such a piece of furniture to sit down at a low coffee table, because a homemade pouffe can be made of any height.

DIY ottoman photo

A do-it-yourself banquette is an incredibly beautiful decoration of your hallway interior, but it is not just beautiful, it is also multifunctional. And often, in order not to clutter up the space, it is better to use oversized, but cutely designed items. Why is it needed at all, why is it multifunctional, what varieties of it exist, how to make it correctly, find out below in this article.

What is a banquet?

Such a brilliant element of any interior as a banquette was invented in the not so distant XVIII century. It is a stool or a small upholstered bench, sometimes with a back. Some banquettes also serve to store shoes, making them more functional. As a rule, they are made in the form of a rectangle, circle or square.

Such a product will be an excellent addition to the interior of absolutely any room:

  • bench in the hallway - while tying shoes, you can sit on an ottoman, shoes are also often stored in it;
  • kitchen - a banquette is often used as an addition to a soft corner;
  • bathroom;
  • bedroom - complements the calm and cozy atmosphere;
  • living room - in this room, this piece of furniture can act as an additional place for guests.

Materials and tools to be prepared

The material for making a bench in the hallway with your own hands is a tree. Forged models, the frame, which is made of iron, require much more serious experience and skills.

To complete the assembly of the product you will need:

  • Wooden beam - 30 * 40, 30 * 50 mm, these parameters are applicable if the design provides for strapping and legs. Reiki for plywood products have a smaller cross section.
  • You can use ready-made legs, for example, from a stool, a low coffee table, a bench.
  • MDF panels or plywood - a sheet of appropriate parameters for one-, two-, three-seater work.
  • For fasteners, self-tapping screws, furniture corners, possibly pins, glue are needed.
  • For the soft part of the wooden banquette, you need to stock up on filler and a cover.

Fabrics:

  • The cover at home is made from a suitable fabric, for example: velor, plush, furniture upholstery. The material must be sufficiently dense and wear-resistant. You can use leather or a synthetic substitute.
  • The material for filling is foam rubber, because it is quite elastic and keeps its shape for a long time.

Important! If you want to make a very soft seat, especially with a carriage tie, then in addition to foam rubber, also use a padding polyester.

Tools:

  • drill, jigsaw, screwdriver;
  • level, hammer, screwdrivers;
  • threads and needles;
  • construction stapler;
  • sandpaper of different grits.

Important! In addition, stain or paint and varnish may be needed.

The whole process consists of a small number of steps. They are quite simple to perform and require due care and accuracy.

Training:

  1. Create a drawing of the product, no matter how simple it may seem to you. Determine the dimensions of the hallway and the maximum approximate parameters of the product.
  2. Calculate the capacity of the banquette, since one person occupies an area of 45 * 55 cm.
  3. Choose a model with a back. It is rather difficult to implement with minimal experience, with drawers, shelves, on legs.
  4. Knowing the dimensions of the seat, determine the parameters of all other elements and draw a sketch.
  5. If there are a lot of details - partitions, back, shelves, it makes sense to make a pattern, and then proceed to sawing the plywood shield.
  6. Cut out the details with a jigsaw, and sand the edges.

Assembling our product

Frame:

  1. First of all, cut out the seat - its parameters serve as a starting point, and all other parts, if necessary, are adjusted to the dimensions of this part.
  2. If you are making a model with legs, attach 4 wooden planks to the bottom so that they can protrude 1-2 cm over the edge.
  3. Sand the entire blank and cover it with stain, paint, strictly following all the instructions.
  4. If the model will rest on the sidewalls, here all the elements of the frame - sidewalls, seats, the lower part of the shelf, as well as the back wall, cut out immediately, sand them, and then assemble them with pins. To do this, pre-drill blind holes in the ends of the parts themselves.

leg models:

  • Legs are made from wood. The easiest option is to cut the bars to the height of the banquette, then sand them, and attach them to the bottom with the help of corners and self-tapping screws.
  • A more attractive look to the legs can be provided by the use of a manual cutter. The tool is quite simple and more affordable than a milling machine. With it, you can make the legs round, with protrusions, in absolutely any case, smoother.

Important! Before fixing all the parts together, paint them and cover with a special varnish.

Seat:

  • For a softer seat, cut out a piece of foam rubber of the required size.
  • We recommend laying burlap or similar coarse material on the bottom at the beginning, and then fix the foam rubber with a stapler or glue.
  • Cut out the selected fabric into fragments of the size you need, not forgetting to leave allowances for stitching.
  • Wrap the fabric inward along the edges and secure with staples.

We independently sheathe furniture with fabric

The method described above allows you to end up with a product with a completely flat surface. But while on two- or three-seater versions, this option looks quite presentable, then a single bench will have a completely boring appearance. The pouffe, which has a carriage screed, looks much more interesting.

To do this, take:

  • the same tools, including a hand mill;
  • softer and thinner fabric, because it will need to be folded;
  • large buttons that are covered with exactly the same material.

Important! Filling in this case consists of two parts at once. Once you have glued the foam rubber to the bottom, cut the same piece out of the padding polyester.

Manufacturing process:

  • If you have some skills, you can mark the places for fastening buttons directly on the foam rubber. But it is much more preferable to make a pattern: a sheet of paper of the appropriate size, on which you can calculate the number of fasteners and the shape of the folds.

Important! As a rule, these are rhombuses, but you can get more refined figures. Drill through holes at the marked positions.

If you think that you know everything about the ottoman - you are not! It would seem that a completely trivial piece of furniture can surprise you with nothing. However, an ottoman is one of the most versatile interior elements: you can lie on it, use it as a footrest, cozy, and, finally, it is a convenient place to relax and store small things.

What is an ottoman and why is it easy to do it yourself

The ottoman as an interior item appeared in Eastern Europe many centuries ago. It was used as a soft stool at the foot. The progenitors of ottomans were ordinary boxes for. Over time, they became smaller and smaller in volume and turned into mobile, upholstered stools without legs.

The classic version of the ottoman is a soft oval-shaped design on a hard base.

What is the most important thing in a pouffe? Of course, its basis. This is where we can talk about real savings, because anything can play this role: plastic bottles, tires from cars, unnecessary items, knitted shopping bags and the most ordinary ... boxes.

Important! The material that is used as the main frame element must be strong enough to support the weight of a person.

You are probably thinking why so much trouble if you can buy a ready-made ottoman. However, it is not always possible to find exactly the ottoman that matches the color or will have the desired texture and shape. Interesting ideas for making ottomans for different rooms and accommodation options, in the following sections of our publication.

A purchased ottoman will definitely not be decorated with such decorative stitching and hand sewing!

Ideas for making your own pouffe from improvised means

You can't even imagine how many materials we can use in making an ottoman! They literally lie under our feet.

Let us consider in detail the options for manufacturing this element of furniture from improvised means.

Making your own ottoman from plastic bottles step by step

There is no such family that would not massively stockpile plastic bottles! Meanwhile, it is this product, which at first glance has already served you, can be very useful for creating furniture with your own hands. Plastic bottles have long been used to make bed frames and sofas, and what can we say about ottomans. Let's take a closer look at what the manufacturing technology of such a home-made furniture exhibit is.

Advice! In order for the ottoman to better hold the shape of plastic bottles, it is necessary to prepare in advance. At night, put them in the cold or put them in the refrigerator without lids and close them in the same place in the cold. Then abruptly change the ambient temperature, for example, put them under a hot battery. Inside the bottle, the cooled air will begin to heat up and expand, therefore, the bottles will acquire an ideally even shape and high density.

Illustration Action Description

Pre-prepared in the manner described above, bottles in the amount of 14 pieces are tightly tightened with twine or to make a cylinder. This must be done on a flat surface so that all the bottles are on the same level.

We circle the bottom of the resulting workpiece and cut out two plywood disks of the same diameter using this pattern. We glue fabric on one of the discs to the bottom, this will be the bottom of our ottoman.
Now we fix them with double-sided tape.

For greater strength, we fasten the frame with twine, which is fixed inside special notches, which must be positioned perfectly vertically in relation to each other

We cut out a rectangle from thin foam rubber, the length of which is equal to the circumference of our disks, and the height corresponds to the length of the bottles.
With the help of a strong thread and an awl, we sew our foam rubber directly on the workpiece.

On a thicker cardboard, cut out a circle for a soft seat. To do this, we mark it by attaching it to the top of the future pouf.
It remains only to put on a cover, we made it in advance. Thread the cord along the outer seam. Here we have such a pouf!

Ottoman in a children's room from a bottle from a cooler of 20 liters

If you suddenly have large canisters or a plastic water bottle of 20 liters lying around, then this is a great chance to make a stronger ottoman that can withstand the weight of an adult up to 100 kg.

The process itself is not much different from what we described earlier. The blank is tightly covered with foam rubber, fixed with a thread, the joints are sewn together.

How to make a do-it-yourself ottoman from a tire

This master class is one of the simplest, which we will talk about today. To work, you will need the tire itself, sheets, thick twine, glue and.

Illustration Action Description

We measure the diameter of the tire, mark the circle of the required size on a sheet of plywood.
cut out the required size of the base for the seat. We fasten to the tire.

Starting from the center, twist the cord or braid so that it turns out even. After each "coil" we glue the base.

When the cord ends, we sew it to a new segment with an ordinary awl, we glue this section

After the entire tire has disappeared under the cord, we fix the edge and fasten the simplest legs on

The elements of the pouffe can be painted on top with acrylic paint, having previously marked the surface with mounting tape

We make an ottoman from an old bucket

Another interesting option for creating an ottoman without much effort is an ottoman from a bucket. Let's consider the stages of work in more detail.

Illustration Action Description

For work, we need an old plastic bucket without a handle. Sintepon, two types of fabric, rope, lace, buttons and glue gun

We will divide the rope into 2 parts. We turn one part into a spiral (it will be easier to paint it this way) and paint it white with a can of quick-drying paint

Starting from the very top, we wrap the bucket with an unpainted rope, do not forget to glue the base

We leave the white cord on the central part of the bucket. This is the strip we got. And now it's time to start decorating the inside of the future ottoman. We need to make a soft pocket-bottom

Prepare pieces of fabric in advance: one is a circle that repeats the shape of the bottom, the second rectangle is for the walls. We lower the sewn bag into.

We “hide” the free, raw edges of the fabric bag under the lace

And now it's time to do the cover. We cut out the cardboard base along the plastic cover that was originally.

We lay out a layer of padding polyester on it, carefully placing it around the circumference, and on top we put a piece of fabric, which should protrude 7-10 cm beyond the edges of our markup. This is necessary in order to give our lid the necessary headroom.

We turn the edges over, fix with glue on the reverse side, sew a button into the center of the fixing fabric

On the back of the lid, glue a piece of fabric, smaller

Glue the soft top to the lid

We trim the edging of the lid with a rope. Our ottoman is ready!

Cable spool ottoman

This version of the ottoman will suit those who are used to using the space as functionally as possible. And that's why.

Making them with your own hands is very simple, the base for the pouffe is almost ready: it remains to decorate only the seat. There can be a lot of options here: it can be a fungus, a high chair, or even a soft one. The main thing is to monitor the stability of the structure.

Options for making do-it-yourself ottomans for the bedroom

We offer several schemes of such ottomans, which will be useful in the independent manufacture of such a soft seat.

Most often, such patterns and products are called not poufs, but. This is a fairly comfortable and democratic style of furniture that will be appropriate in a rest room, a youth cafe.

Pouffe bag: you can buy, but it's easy to sew with your own hands

Pouffes of this type can be easily sewn, but remember, the material will go a lot. Think in advance where and how you will buy filler. Most often, expanded polystyrene is bought for this function. These are special light balls that will help the pouf to easily take the shape of the body, providing you with comfort and relaxation.

Note! Sometimes such puffs are filled with natural elements: it can be ordinary wood shavings, fluff with a feather, rice, beans, peas and other legumes.

The manufacturing process itself is not complicated, you can see a detailed video instruction in this video tutorial:

Ottoman bag

However, in addition to the option of frameless furniture, there are several varieties of pouffes on a rigid frame. About them in the final part of the article.

Techniques for assembling and finishing do-it-yourself ottomans on a rigid frame for the hallway

The pouffe for the hallway performs several functions at once, it is a stable bedside table, and a drawer for. It is difficult to say which function is less preferable here. Consider options for creating different frame forms for poufs of different directions.

Ottoman on wheels with a drawer for small items

Such an ottoman will be an excellent solution, since such a pouffe can be both a bedside table and a neat place to sit. It will not need to be dragged, it is enough to roll up to the one who needs to sit down. The manufacturing process is more complex, but no less effective. Here the main task is to create a strong frame.

Usually this is a cross or a wire reel, sometimes a box for fragile parcels (it is made of plywood). This design has everything you need for organization: free space and the right frame.

If you do not have the opportunity to purchase a finished design, you will have to create the basis yourself. We offer you a short photo-instruction.

First you need to create a base from . It can be of complex shape: square and rectangular, even consisting of two parts.

Pouffe from an old stool

You can give life to your favorite stool literally in a matter of hours by slightly updating its exterior. First, let's prepare the materials for the seat. To do this, you need to cut a blank from the fabric, and fill it with padding polyester. Although the material can be very different, leather, fur or a knitted pillow.

However, not always any frame is needed to make a puik. Take two belts and a stack of newspapers - an exclusive ottoman is ready.

Ottomans on a wooden frame

It is quite easy to make for a pouffe: take a couple of boards, make a cross and connect with a bar. A solid base is ready!

Variants of wooden bases for ottoman:

And if you have your own vision of what an ottoman can be in a bedroom or hallway, share your opinion on the pages of our magazine.

The banquette can be called a popular type of furniture for the hallway. Over time, its design has not undergone drastic changes. This is not only a comfortable pouf that can accommodate guests, but also a stylish piece of furniture, it will look great in the hallway, kitchen, bedroom and living room.

There is a huge selection of these soft poufs in stores: with cabinets, shelves, drawers. Each manufacturer draws up a banquette at its own discretion. But what to do if you still haven’t found a suitable option for your interior? In this case, the question may arise: how to make a bench with your own hands?

The principal device of the bench is quite simple - a stool with a soft seat.

The fabric is tucked inward along the edges and secured with staples.

A bench can be made by anyone who has minimal carpentry skills and is good with a needle.

Often the basis of the product really is a stool.

Such a product looks very decorative, and it is quite simple to make it.

Consider the advantages of a homemade pouffe.

  1. Firstly, you can independently choose the shape, color, size to your liking. It all depends on your imagination. Then you can create a banquette that is unlike other factory counterparts, which will add originality to your interior.
  2. Secondly, a do-it-yourself pouffe will cost you much less than a ready-made one from a store.
  3. Thirdly, you can make a bench from old furniture that you were already going to throw away (stool, coffee table), but in this way give it a new life.
  4. Fourthly, the creation of something useful and beautiful always brings moral satisfaction to the creator. Having done such a thing yourself, you can present your work to guests and receive many compliments as a reward for your work.

A larger bench, if the size of the hallway allows, is no less easy to make.

From the selected fabric, a fragment of the desired size is cut out with an allowance.

Before starting work, you need to think over the design of the product and see what types there are. The banquette can be chosen according to the shape, material and size.

This will require minimal carpentry skills and the ability to hold a needle and thread.

Consider the main types.

  1. Forged.

More suitable for the interior in the Baroque or Empire style. The product will have forged, twisted bases. More often these specimens do not have built-in shelves, drawers and lockers. A pouffe made in this style will look best in the hallway.

  1. From a tree.

These types of products are often very functional: with built-in drawers and cabinets. Will look great in the hallway, kitchen or living room.

  1. With a back.

This small sofa will immediately create an atmosphere of comfort, especially if you decorate it with soft pillows made in the same style. This is the most comfortable and convenient option.

  1. Collapsible.

This type is more functional: it can be quickly disassembled. All elements are bolted. Therefore, for quick disassembly of the product, the design will be ordinary and not carrying decorative functions.

  1. With boxes.

A very useful copy for the hallway, which will save space.

The "raw materials" for the product are wood materials.

For a soft seat, a piece of foam rubber of the required size is cut out.

To make a bench, you must also familiarize yourself with the types of upholstery that can be used when working.

  1. Textile.

The bench can be covered with silk, cotton, linen fabric. Textile puffs are unpretentious in care. A variety of shades is the advantage of such upholstery.

  1. Leather.

This material is not suitable for every interior, but it will look very expensive and elegant. Among the shortcomings can be identified high price, difficult care.

  1. Artificial leather.

This option is cheaper than the previous one. It will look as noble as a pouffe made of genuine leather. At the same time, leatherette is not capricious in care. Although its service life is much less than that of a natural "brother".

Forged models or furniture with an iron frame will require much more serious skills and experience.

It is easiest to make a bench from old furniture or from wood, as forged models and those with an iron frame will require more serious skills and experience from the master.

The filling material, as a rule, is foam rubber - it is quite elastic and keeps its shape for a long time.

An attractive appearance of the legs will provide the use of a manual cutter.

Necessary materials

To work, you need to have the following materials.

  • For a pouffe with legs, you will need a wooden beam - 30 * 40, 30 * 50 mm. or, if available, you can use old screw-in legs from a stool, table, or bench.
  • Plywood.
  • Mounting materials: staples for a stapler, self-tapping screws.
  • Lacquer, stain or paint.
  • High foam.
  • Cloth or leather for covering.
  • Fabric for finishing the invisible side of the seat.
  • Buttons.
  • Cloth for the cover (if required).

If a very soft seat is being constructed, especially with a carriage screed, then in addition to foam rubber, a synthetic winterizer is also used.

If a model with legs is implemented, then 4 wooden planks are attached to the bottom so that they protrude 1-2 cm beyond the edges.

Required Tools

To work, you must have the following tools:

  • drill, screwdriver;
  • screwdrivers;
  • a hammer;
  • construction stapler;
  • sandpaper of different hardness;
  • manual cutter (if the base of the pouffe is made of timber);
  • level;
  • thick threads and a large needle;
  • scissors;
  • roulette;
  • sewing machine (if you need to sew a cover).

In addition, paint or stain and varnish may be needed.

The seat is cut out first - its dimensions serve as a starting point, and all other parts are adjusted to fit the seat if necessary.

If you do not have enough experience in making furniture, then it is better to split the whole process into several days so that due attention is paid to every detail.

Step 1: Finishing the legs

If you have ready-made screw-in legs, then they need to be restored. We clean the surface with sandpaper. Then we apply new paint or varnish and stain. It is better to apply in two layers.

If you do not have ready-made legs, then they must be made from timber. They will be attached to the seat with screws and corners. If possible, it is better to process the timber with a hand mill. Such a tool can make non-standard protrusions, and the product will turn out to be more interesting. We also cover the beam with stain or paint.

Step 2: Plywood and foam

It is necessary to cut the foam rubber of the desired size around the plywood. At the same time, it should protrude 2-3 cm on each side. We select sizes individually.

Step 3: Lay out the plywood

We glue the foam rubber to the plywood, placing the glue closer to the edges. With the help of a tape measure and chalk, we draw a markup, along which we will sew on buttons in the future. We make several holes in plywood at the same distance. At the same time, we try not to touch the foam rubber.

Step 4: We assemble the product, sheathe it with fabric or leather

Cut out a square or rectangle from leather or fabric according to the shape of the product. It is necessary to carefully calculate the dimensions of the upholstery and fit them under the seat, leaving a margin of 2-3 cm on each side.

You can start installing buttons. With the help of a needle, the thread is first threaded into the button, and then brought out into the plywood hole under the seat. For better fixation, you can fasten the thread with staples.

It is necessary to close the rough finish on the back of the seat with a textile cloth. Sew the cut piece along the edge of the bottom.

If the legs were from another product, then we choose the place of their placement, fasten their bases with self-tapping screws and screw them in. We fasten the legs from the timber with the help of self-tapping screws and corners to the seat.

The process consists of several stages. All of them are quite simple to implement and require only accuracy and due care.

decoration

Buttons are better to choose the color of the upholstery. The amount depends on personal preference. You can diversify the bench with a decorative cover, which you can also sew yourself. All you need is a skill with a sewing machine.

If you do not have cutting skills, then it is better to use a finished product pattern found on the Internet or watch a master class on making it yourself.

The capacity of the bench is calculated: one person occupies a plot with an area of 45 * 55 cm.

Details are cut with a jigsaw, the edges are sanded.

For an interior in the Empire or Baroque style, you can make a carriage coupler. This model looks very interesting and presentable.

The parameters of the hallway and the maximum possible dimensions of the product are determined.

If there are a lot of details - partitions, shelves, back, it makes sense to make a pattern, and then proceed to cutting the plywood board.

So you learned that making a banquette on your own, with minimal carpentry skills, is quite realistic. The main thing is not to rush and pay due attention to each stage. Then the product will turn out neat and beautiful. This type of furniture will not only be useful in terms of comfort and space saving, but will also become a stylish and original addition to the interior.

They choose a model: with a back - it is rather difficult to implement with a minimum of experience, with shelves, drawers, on legs or based on sidewalls, and so on.

Based on the dimensions of the seat, the parameters of the remaining elements are determined and a sketch is drawn.

We mount the bottom

We put the first planks

First you need to place the slats on the sides. To do this, apply glue to the surface of the plank and attach it, then drive in a nail so that the element does not fall off while the glue dries. The resulting design must be turned over to the right side. With the help of crosses we make seams between the planks. After the glue dries, you need to remove the crosses.
