Elimination of fistulas on the pipeline without welding. How to close up a fistula in a sewer pipe with your own hands

Welding steel pipes is a responsible business, after which they are expected to work under pressure for a long time, and provide an uninterrupted supply of fluid for water supply or heating. Therefore, all seams must be performed with high quality, in compliance with the correct welding modes for a particular situation. How are water pipes welded to minimize repair work? What to do if you need to weld a pipe in which there is already water?

The technology of welding pipelines, produced in accordance with the basic provisions, ensures the long-term operation of the entire system. To do this, it is important to observe slopes for the natural movement of the coolant. So, you do not have to redo the work twice.

It is also worth keeping a sufficient distance from the walls and between the pipes so that it is convenient for the welder to weld the joints with high quality. For more reliable penetration, a gap of 1-2 mm is left between the sides, where the molten metal flows.

Welding of main pipelines is carried out in several passes to ensure tightness. The gas pipeline is also installed according to the same principle. The welder performs the root seam by electric welding. It is important to achieve the formation of a reverse bead, which indicates good penetration of the sides. Subsequent layers are applied by automatic machines with filler wire and flux layer.

For a better installation of the main pipeline, laser welding is used in the workshops, and only the last joints are made on site. Manual welding on pipes starts from the lowest part of the circle (in the horizontal position of the pipeline) and goes up. The weld metal is applied in “shelves” and raises the weld along the circumference to the highest point. This is done on both sides. It is necessary to finish the seam on solid metal. This prevents pores and fistulas.

When you may need to weld a pipe with water

Unfortunately, even if all the above rules are observed, welding work may be required on a pipeline that has already been put into operation. Most often this is due to mistakes made by previous welders. Perhaps poor eyesight did not allow the specialist to weld the joint with high quality, and the site began to leak. If water is supplied through this pipeline to a large area that has already been shut off for a long time, then a repeated shutdown can cause many complaints. Therefore, it becomes necessary to carry out welding under pressure.

Welding a pipe with liquid may also be required in the event of an emergency tie-in, when there is no time to drain the system, and all that can be done is to turn off the pumps to reduce the pressure in the system. Either the area of all communications with water is so large that it will take too long to empty it, or it is too expensive (drain 20,000 liters of water for one seam). Welded joints of pipelines can be complicated by the presence of liquid in the work area due to a special slope, which is provided for natural gravity. In this case, even after draining the system, water will continue to drain and interfere with welding work.

Why is it difficult

Many welders are afraid of welding pipes with water because it is a difficult task, fraught with long anguish and no guarantee of a successful outcome. The imposition of molten particles of filler metal on a pore or fistula can lead to “fouling” of a problem area with a whole slide of seams, from under which liquid will seep in all directions. Instead of one leak, there are many streams.

Why is it so difficult to weld a pipeline under pressure? There are several reasons for this:

 • The pressure of water constantly cools the weld pool, preventing the weld metal from fully adhering to the base metal.
 • The process is complicated by the constantly formed steam from the contact of the liquid with the heated iron. This makes it difficult to see the junction. The welder's mask often fogs up on the outside.
 • If the joint is ceiling, then the problem is aggravated by the fact that water flows onto the worker. The gloves and jacket are impregnated. Since the welder has an electrode holder in his hands, and he himself stands on the ground (or holds on to the pipe with his second hand), this can provoke small electric shocks (safe, but unpleasant to feel voltage up to 48V ). Cooking is very inconvenient.

How to weld a pipe with water

The pressurized pipeline, as can be seen in the video, is successfully welded by electric welding. For this, certain modes and parameters are selected, which are described below. But there are also small tricks, as well as technologies that help to perform this process correctly. Different approaches are taken depending on the type of work required.

Fistula control

Due to non-compliance with welding conditions or a corrosive environment, a fistula may form in the pipeline. This is a small round hole from which water flows. The pipe may be mechanically damaged due to impact, resulting in a crack.

To successfully weld a problem area with electric welding, you need to stand opposite the problem area. This will make it easier to see all the borders of the hole. To prevent water from running down the electrode (in the case of a vertical or horizontal weld), you need to hold it perpendicular to the surface to be welded. The welding process is carried out from top to bottom. The goal is to narrow the fistula until it is completely closed.

For this you need:

 1. Apply a few drops of metal to the upper side of the edge of the hole.
 2. Hit once or twice with a hammer immediately after the arc stops burning. This allows the deposited metal to penetrate deeper into the structure of the base metal, preventing the appearance of new pores. Additionally, flattened ridges cover a large area of the fistula.
 3. Apply a few more drops of metal, moving down.
 4. Tap again with a hammer.
 5. If the lateral edges of the fistula have thin walls, they must be reinforced in the same way.
 6. After the complete cessation of steam seepage to the outside, it is necessary to build up the pipe wall. This is done vice versa, from the bottom up, at a low current, so as not to burn through the thin metal. "Crescents" are superimposed with an intermittent arc until a complete passage to the upper point of the problem area.
 7. It is desirable to tap the passed seam for forging and sealing.

Solid joint

In the case of connecting two sides of a pipe, one of which is still flowing water, a special approach can be used. This applies especially to pipelines that run close to the floor or the ground.

To successfully complete the work, a “window” is cut out in the upper part of the pipe, which is in a horizontal position. This is a rectangular or oval hole in one side of the connection. This will help in the case when the pressure is turned off and the bulk of the liquid is discharged, but the water continues to leak. A rag is laid in the pipe, absorbing moisture and freeing the bottom for unhindered dry welding.

The seam is superimposed from the inside through the cut out window. It is important to weld the bottom and raise the edges of the seam to the walls. For greater reliability, it is worth performing several passes. Then the rag is removed (this is extremely important to do right away, otherwise all the work will be in vain if you forget it and weld the joint in a hurry), and the water flows along the already welded bottom without interfering with the process. Side seams are applied from the outside. The window closes last. This is done using a pre-prepared "patch" that is appropriate in size. Since the seam consists of several segments, all endings need to be covered, and the last crater must be led out onto a solid section of the pipe and welded with surfacing.

If cutting is needed

With the welding of high pressure pipelines can be performed in case of need for an additional channel for the removal of liquid. For example, another container has been added where water supply is required, or another heating branch has been built in the annex, and a coolant supply is required. If a tie-in is needed, but it is impossible to stop the system, then welding of a spur or a ball valve is used.

This happens according to the following scheme:

 1. A branch pipe with a thread and a ball valve is fitted to the selected section of the pipe.
 2. Without violating the integrity of the pipeline, the superimposed element is welded.
 3. After that, the valve is placed in the open position and a hole is drilled through it in the main pipe.
 4. Next, you need to act quickly. Through the newly formed exit, water rushes out. The drill is quickly removed and the valve is closed.
 5. A winding with a winding is connected to the return thread of the crane and a new branch is closed.
 6. The faucet opens and the liquid supply starts.

This operation can be carried out at any pressure. It is important to weld the branch pipe with a tap at a low current so as not to burn through the main pipe. The diameter of the drill must be large enough to transfer the volume and required pressure so that the new branch is fully functional.

Little tricks

To successfully weld fistulas and cracks with water, you need to know a few secrets that experienced welders use. Since water constantly interferes with the formation of the weld pool, it is important to reduce its impact. This is achieved in several ways.

First, you can drive a bolt into the resulting fistula. For this, the appropriate diameter of the rod is selected. As a result, instead of a hole from which water flows, a clogged hole is formed with a cap convenient for welding. Of course, the liquid is not completely isolated, but its influence is reduced. It is necessary to gradually connect the walls of the base metal with the bolt head. The method is applicable in all spatial positions.

Secondly, the fistula can be repaired by welding a large-diameter nut in its place. The latter is superimposed on the problem area and scalded. The liquid does not interfere with this, because it continues to flow freely through the hole in the nut. After welding is completed, a bolt with tightly wound tow is screwed into the nut. This seals the place. The method has one drawback - the appearance of the repaired area is not very presentable (with a protruding bolt), but this allows you to quickly close the leak and strengthen the thinned place.

The third trick is to increase the filler material. Since the size of the superimposed "pea" of molten metal at one time can cover a certain area of the hole, it is important to apply as much additive as possible to the weld pool. This is controlled by the diameter of the electrode. But you can also use the second electrode, having previously beaten off the coating on it. The first electrode heats up the place, and when liquid metal appears, a second rod is added to it. This increases the amount of surfacing and promotes rapid closure of the water hole.

Modes

For welding work on a pipeline in which liquid is present, it is important to set the amperage higher than normal for this position. This will allow you to hold the arc more stable. The electrode will not stick due to rapid water cooling.

Filler materials are important to ignite well. Of the common models, UONI 13/55 is suitable. They excel in these conditions. It is desirable to warm the place with a burner in order to evaporate the leaking water. This will have a more favorable effect on the penetration of the filler metal.

The type of voltage also plays a role. It all depends on the personal preferences of the welder. Alternating current holds the arc well. They can be boiled under a large layer of water. But the quality of the seam itself is worse. DC voltage is less stable when operating in a humid environment, but the degree of penetration of molten material is higher.

Proper installation of the pipeline allows you to immediately get a quality system. But if a marriage was made or the material was leaky, and repairs are required without draining the liquid, then the tips in the article will help to cope with the problem.

How to close a fistula in a pipe. Sometimes it happens that a fistula appears in the iron pipe of the water supply or heating riser. This is especially common on the hot water riser. The first signs that the pipe will burst soon is when a red growth appears on it, but it may not appear.
In scientific terms, this is called pitting, but in simple terms it is a "Pipe" pipe. Fistulas appear on the pipe, either due to wear or stray currents. In principle, when you have a fistula, you will not care because of what it appeared, you will have a question how to fix it faster? I'll try to describe a couple of options for how to do this.

How to close a fistula in a pipe with a clamp

In general, if you see that your pipe is "not the first freshness", then it is advisable to purchase a couple of clamps in advance for the diameter of the water supply riser, and cut rubber under them. Because, as most often it happens at night, and until the emergency gang, or a mechanic, arrives, it can flood heavily. There are a couple more nuances, what is the size of the fistula. If the fistula is the size of a needle, then you can put the clamp without blocking the water, and if more, then when installing the clamp, you risk getting burned, if the fistula is in the pipe on hot water, it is better to turn off the water on the riser. If the fistula is small, you can try to close it with a regular car clamp, as in the photo. You do this: take a piece of rubber, and cut a thin ribbon, the ribbon should be equal in width to the width of the collar, it can be 3-4 millimeters more, but not less, now we measure the length of the rubber band. We wrap it around the pipe, and cut off the excess. Then cut off another 1 cm somewhere. Next, open the clamp, and put it on the pipe, and grab it a little. We insert a rubber gasket under it, which you cut out, and carefully bring it to the place where the fistula formed. We cover it and tighten it with a screwdriver, or with a key, depending on which tightening device the clamp has.

I have had such cases in practice that in the apartment there is a fistula with a diameter of the "eye of a needle", it whistles very strongly, but there is not much water, the tenant, the grandmother "God's dandelion" screams like a carved one, but I can’t turn off the water, since it is from he doesn’t let out an apartment, and there was no clamp with me, what I do, after looking, and determining that the pipe is in excellent condition, I break off a piece of a match, and insert the tip into the fistula, and there was no fistula, but this is so that the grandmother calmed down. Then, of course, I installed the clamp. Often I closed up such fistulas in the basement in this way, but there were also punctures, you insert a match, and the fistula becomes 2 times larger, so I do not advise you to use this method. Well, this is a digression, let's consider another option.

Another variant. The situation is this: the fistula is more serious, and much larger, even if you have a collar at the ready, it is better to have one, it is still better to turn off the water. Before putting the clamp, look at the surface around the fistula, it should be even, if it is uneven, then be sure to clean it, you can use sandpaper, otherwise water will leak through these roughnesses. Of course, the clamp will be needed more powerful than in the first option, you can make it yourself, or buy it on the market. Rubber under it is cut out in the same way as in the first example.

How to seal a fistula in a pipe with cold welding

I looked on the Internet, on this topic, some masters advise temporarily sealing the fistula in the pipe with cold welding, but I would not advise doing this, firstly, the clamp is better, and secondly, you still have to turn off the water, it can only be used in those places where the clamp does not crawl, and if, of course, there is no way to do it.

And finally, a couple of tips, if red smudges or growths appear on the pipe, this is already the first call that it’s time to replace the pipe, if you notice a small leak, it’s better to call a specialist right away, or determine for yourself where it is, and put a clamp, do not try to touch the growths under pressure on the pipe, and even more so to try to remove them with something, it can explode. If the pipe is an inch, that is, with a diameter of 25, then take a car clamp 32-40, and if the pipe is 32 in diameter, that is, an inch and a quarter, then buy from 40 and above.

Cast iron or plastic, you can do the same in this way.

In principle, each case is individual, and I won’t be able to write every nuance, so ask questions and I’ll try to answer a specific case, registration on the site is not required, and writing a site is not necessary.

I wish you good luck, and that your plumbing does not break!

The formation of a fistula in a heating or plumbing riser mounted from metal pipes is not uncommon. The situation needs to be corrected as soon as possible. Therefore, information on how to close a fistula in the pipe and what methods are available to eliminate it will not be superfluous.

The presence of a reddish-colored build-up on the pipe, which is called pitting, indicates a problem and that the pipeline can break through at any time. Damage occurs as a result of partial destruction or general wear of the line, or under the influence of stray currents. When a fistula is detected, the reason for its appearance no longer matters, the main thing is to eliminate it as soon as possible.

A variety of ways to close the fistula

In order to properly deal with the problem, first of all, you should figure out what a fistula in the pipeline is. This is a hole in the pipe through which water flows out.

You can fix it in several ways:

With bolt;

With the use of a temporary bandage;

With the use of adhesive bandage;

cold welding method.

But at the same time, it is imperative to drain the water from the system by closing the valves and opening all available taps.

Seal the hole with a bolt

This option involves a number of steps:

1. Expand the fistula in the pipe with a drill.

2. Cut the thread with a tap.

3. Screw the bolt into the hole formed.

This method cannot be used when the pipes are too old, since it will be impossible to thread them, and attempts to do this usually end in an increase in the size of the leak.

Repair with temporary bandage

This method is used when the fistula on the pipeline has an oblong, elongated appearance.

A bandage is applied to the hole using sealing gaskets, which can be made from such products:

Tourniquet medical;

Thick glove;

Bicycle tire;

Boot shaft, etc.

The main thing is that the size of the rubber gasket significantly exceeds the size of the hole. To fix the bandage on the pipeline, clamps or bolts are used.

Seal with adhesive bandage

The elimination of the fistula by this method is carried out in stages:

1. Clean the pipeline from dirt with a metal brush, treat its surface with acetone or gasoline and take 15 minutes to dry.

2. Tapes are cut from fiberglass, the length of which depends on the diameter of the pipe - it is necessary that the winding has at least 6 layers. The width of the material must exceed the cross section of the pipeline by at least a third.

3. BF-2 glue is applied to the edges of the tape, then one side of it is covered with an epoxy adhesive with a spatula.

4. The tool is pressed firmly against the fiberglass so that it is well saturated with glue.

5. Then the tape is tightly wound on a previously prepared surface so that its center covers the problem area.

6. The bandage is fastened with a metal tape.

7. After 24 hours, it is allowed to use the repaired pipeline.

In the case when the system is laid in an unheated room, where the temperature does not exceed 17 degrees, the pipeline can only be used after 4 days.

Cold welding method

Repair of water pipes without welding is carried out using a special composition:

1. The hole is expanded with a drill.

2. The surface of the pipeline is degreased and cleaned with acetone.

3. When the pipe dries, apply a product called "cold welding" on it and wait until it is completely cured - usually it takes about 10 minutes.

When using "cold welding" or epoxy adhesive, rubber gloves must be used. If the glue gets on the skin, it must be removed with cotton wool and acetone, and then washed with warm water and soap.

hole filling process

When the system is worn out, it is advisable to prepare several clamps having the same diameter as the pipeline. In addition, you need to stock up on rubber under them. In the event that a fistula of a water pipe appears at night, such preparation will not be superfluous, since the emergency team is unlikely to arrive in a matter of minutes.

If the hole is small, it can be sealed using a conventional vehicle clamp:

1. A thin tape is cut from a piece of rubber - its width should be 2-4 millimeters more than the same parameter for the clamp. The length of the cut is measured by wrapping the material around the pipe. The excess piece of tape is cut off.

2. The clamp is opened and placed on the pipe, then it is not strongly grabbed.

3. A rubber gasket is placed under the clamp and carefully advanced to the place where the hole appears.

4. After covering the fistula, the clamp is tightened with a screwdriver or wrench, depending on the features of the device of the protracted product.

If a fistula of a very small size is found and there is no clamp at hand, the hole can be closed with the end of a match. But this method is rarely used, since it is rarely possible to eliminate a leak in old pipelines - it only increases in size. Even if the gap is successfully sealed with a match, it must be repaired as soon as possible with a clamp.

To eliminate a serious fistula on the hot water pipe, you will need a more powerful clamp:

1. First of all, turn off the water and drain it from the pipeline.

2. Before mounting the clamp, carefully inspect the pipe. When its surface is uneven, it should be smoothed out with sandpaper to prevent fluid from flowing through the roughness.

3. Under the clamp, cut out the rubber lining and place it on the hole.

From the above information, it is clear that it is quite possible to eliminate the fistula in the pipe with your own hands - neither special tools nor special skills are required. If there are metal risers, you need to prepare several clamps and rubber gaskets.

Any plumbing system made of metal or plastic can leak over time. This may occur due to deformation or mechanical damage. If for some reason you do not have the opportunity to carry out a complete replacement of the system, then you can try to fix the leak in the pipe for a while. To do this, you need to find out where the damaged place is located. If water has appeared under the bathtub or washbasin, the cause may be a loose drain connection. You can solve the problem by tightening the threaded connections or replacing the gasket. If the problem is much more serious, then it is necessary to use effective methods to eliminate it.

Most often, the pipeline fails in the bathroom, this is due to the fact that there is a large load on the entire system. If your pipe is out of order, you need to find out its cause. For example, the plastic system is characterized by the following problems:

 • insufficient sealing of the fittings, this may occur due to the fact that the water is not completely blocked;
 • pipe installation was carried out under water pressure;
 • swelling of the structure;
 • deformation or collapse of the entire system.

In metal pipes, there can be several causes of damage. The most common ones are:

 • loosening connections, angled or straight;
 • internal corrosion process, which forms small holes over the entire area of the structure;
 • frozen water in severe frost, which leads to rupture of pipes;
 • small cracks and leaks.

Corrosion is the main problem for metal, it is it that causes the appearance of rust, which leads the walls of pipes to a thin state. As a result, small holes appear, which can give partial or complete leakage of the entire system.

In order to carry out a quality repair of the pipeline, it is necessary to understand what to do if the pipe is flowing.

Basic requirements for the repair of metal pipes

If water has begun to drip from the drain pipe, it will be easy to eliminate it. Repair of low pressure pipes is the easiest. To fix a leak in the bathroom, you can try to fix the problem area with cement and a small piece of cloth.

The use of cement. Free the pipeline from water, dilute a little cement, the solution must be liquid. Next, place a piece of fabric in the solution and soak it well, the fabric should be saturated. Next, wind the fabric on the problem area in several layers, then leave it for 1 day, the cement should dry well. The wound fabric can be dyed so as not to spoil the appearance in the room. The advantage of this method lies in its simplicity. But the disadvantage is that:

 • if the structure is located too close to the wall, it will be inconvenient to use this method;
 • this method is not suitable for the joints of the structure;

Use of glue. This method involves the use of epoxy glue. To do this, you need to clean the pipe of paint or rust and degrease with acetone. Next, take a fiberglass tape and soak it well in glue. We seal the hole and leave to dry for a day.

Bolt use. To do this, it is necessary to increase the damaged area in diameter, after which a bolt with a rubber washer is screwed into it. It is worth noting that this method will help for a short amount of time, therefore, as soon as the water stops flowing, immediately begin preparing for a complete replacement of the structure.

Using a steel clamp.> For this method, a steel clamp is installed on the damaged area and secured with bolts and rubber, which is placed under it.

Use of a welding machine. This method is the most reliable and efficient. Unfortunately, it is impossible to do it yourself, because. this requires skills and knowledge. If you managed to close up a problematic place, seek quality help from specialists.

Repair of copper products

But to repair copper pipes by the methods described above will not work. For copper, high-temperature soldering is used using hard soldering. The use of soldering makes it possible to eliminate leakage and extend the service life. Another common problem in copper construction is the formation of cracks at the folds.

Expert advice! To prevent the formation of leaks and cracks in copper, the bending radius should be taken into account.

Also, a leak may occur due to a defective fitting. In this case, it is necessary to replace the gasket if the problem is in it. If the fitting is out of order, then it is necessary to cut a piece of pipe and install a new one with a coupling.

For small damaged areas on a metal structure, you can use a special sealant and seal the hole.

Basic requirements for the repair of plastic structures

Plastic plumbing is much easier to fix. To do this, you do not need to use welding, but you can try to seal the damaged area. Several effective methods on how to fix a leak in a pipe.

The use of electrical tape. To do this, wrap the damaged area with electrical tape. This method will help the system work for a long time.

The use of melted plastic. To do this, you need to take a small piece of plastic, heat it and close the hole. Follow all steps carefully, otherwise you may damage the plumbing.

Expert advice! If the depth of cracks or scratches is 10% of the wall thickness, it is necessary to replace the section. Any design working under pressure requires an additional mechanical clamping bond. The adhesive may dry or peel off.

Elimination of a fistula in the pipe

The problem of a fistula in a heating or water supply system is quite common. Fistulas occur as a result of pipe wear or under the influence of stray current. A fistula in the pipe can be repaired in several ways:

Temporary bandage method. Any of these materials can be used to fix a leak:

 • durable rubber glove;
 • bicycle tire;
 • tourniquet medical;

Important! The size of the rubber gasket should exceed the area of the fistula.

The leak is fixed in the following way:

 • the pipe is cleaned and treated with acetone;
 • tapes are cut from a piece of fiberglass, their size depends on the diameter of the damage; the length of the tape should allow at least 5 layers to be applied to the pipe;
 • the edge of the tape is treated with glue and tightly wrapped around the pipe.
 • the resulting bandage is tightened with a metal tape.

cold welding method. To do this, do the following:

 • expand the fistula with a drill;
 • clean the surface of the pipe with acetone and let it dry;
 • cover the damaged area with cold welding composition;

You can also close the fistula with clamps, this method is most often used for the old structure in the bathroom.

Leak Prevention

In order to prevent the formation of leaks in the sewer, plumbing and heating systems, simple recommendations of specialists should be followed:

 • prevent clogging of the drain pipe;
 • make sure that condensation does not form on a cold riser;
 • for the external pipeline, its freezing is unacceptable;

Each of the proposed ways to fix the problem does not cause technical difficulties. The only exception can be considered a malfunction of the metal or plastic system on the drains. In this case, simply covering up the damaged area will not work, for this you will need the help of specialists and the use of technology.

The term "fistula on the pipe" - refers to deformation changes in the form of a through hole in the pipeline. The main reason for the formation of this phenomenon on pipe rolling is considered to be pitting corrosion.

It is a clear signal that the pipeline needs urgent replacement. It is not always possible to perform a full range of pipe repairs with replacement, so it is only partially performed.

At the same time, we must not forget that such measures are temporary, and replacement of sites that have become unusable can still not be avoided. You can use the help of professional craftsmen, or you can repair everything with your own hands.

How to eliminate the "accident"

For termination, you need to prepare the following tools:

 1. Drill.
 2. Bolts (set).
 3. Brush for cleaning rolled metal.
 4. Bonding agent BV-2, and epoxy bonding type.
 5. Acetone and gasoline.
 6. Ketn.
 7. Putty knife.

Before closing the fistula in the pipe, water is drained from the network. To do this, you need to close the stop valve and open each tap. The system must be free of residual water.

After that, the cleaned area must be degreased with acetone. For the same purpose, you can use gasoline. When sealing, this stage of action is very important.

When applying a bandage to a workpiece with an uneven surface, it is impossible to obtain the most hermetic joint, and all sealing measures will have to be repeated again.

On a well-cleaned surface of the product, it is possible to accurately determine the amount of deformation. And, guided by the information received, they determine a way to further eliminate the deficiency. Fistulas according to the form of education are divided into: point And elongated. Eliminate each of them in different ways.

How is work being done

Troubleshooting on plastic products

A fistula on a plastic pipe is closed in two ways: threaded And soldering.

The threaded method can only be used for products where threading is possible. A piece of a pipeline with a fistula that has become unusable is cut off with special scissors.

An insert is prepared from blanks of the required volume. On plastic materials, the thread is cut with a lerka. Then, with fittings and couplings, another structure is attached to the pipe network.

Welding on plastic pipe materials begins with cutting off the flowing section. After that, a fitting and a workpiece of the appropriate size are prepared.

A heated soldering iron for welding plastic pipes is used to heat the outer edges of the plastic and the inner edges of the fittings. At the final stage of the repair, the prepared pipe is attached with fittings.

This should be done without delay, since plastic tends to solidify instantly, and it is not possible to redo an incorrectly fastened structure a second time.

Repair of copper products

A fistula of a copper pipe is not a rare phenomenon. In construction, copper pipes have been used for a very long time. They are not only suitable for all types of highways, but also have high ductility and resistance to corrosion.

Their service life is not limited, and they will easily stand without breakdowns for the entire period allotted to the house. But, sooner or later, situations arise when these products need to be repaired from a fistula.

The underlying causes of heating leaks are the following:

 • Wear. It is tied up with a long period of use of the heating system. Most often, steel products suffer from leakage.
 • Violation of the operating conditions of the heating system. These include temperature fluctuations and .
 • Use of goods of dubious quality.
 • Poor sealing of joints.

If a leak occurs on the heating pipes, it is necessary to act as follows.

It is necessary to prepare several clamps with rubber seals ( at the same time, the most important thing is not to forget to turn off the water, stop the heating boiler, disconnect the pumps from the power supply and turn off the necessary valves and taps). Repair of pipe assortment in the heating network depends on their type.

For example, steel pipes with a problem with a joint of a threaded variety will require disassembly of the joint and the application of a new winding layer.

If the destruction has formed on the heating pipe itself, then the problem area will have to be welded using gas or electric welding.

If a copper pipe is leaking, then it must also be welded. But, welding work with copper is quite complicated, therefore, it is better to entrust them to specialists.

If the metal-plastic pipelines of the heating system are leaking, then it will be necessary to replace the entire area where the leak has formed. On this type of pipe rolling, it is most often formed at joints of the compressor type.

On a plastic heating pipe, the problem is solved in this way. This is a replacement for the whole area. Polypropylene soldering is advised to be carried out in accordance with all the standards of this work. Any errors can cause the joint to fall apart after a very short time.

IMPORTANT! When working with plastic products, it is forbidden to make changes to the wiring diagram.

Features of metal pipelines

If we are talking about how to weld a fistula in a pipe, which is large, then the only recommended way out is a complete replacement.

And, if the fistula is small, then here are a few options for action. But, these recommendations can only be applied in case of leaks of metal assortment pipes.

Option 1. In this case, the defect is eliminated with a medical bandage and cement for sealing. First, a solution of cement and water is diluted. 15-20 strips are cut from the bandage, 20 cm long. The tapes are moistened in the solution and wrapped around the line. The result is something similar to a cocoon. A cement mortar is applied on top of it. All this should dry for 24 hours, and then the pipe network can be launched.

Option 2. Pieces of rubber to make repairs. A strip is cut out of rubber, slightly longer than the circumference of the nozzle. The problem area is tightly fitted with this strip, which is then fixed. For reliability, it must be covered with a bandage with cement, as described in the previous method.

Option 3. Bandage and edible salt. So they cover the small "gaps" between the joints. To do this, the place of the leak is wrapped with a bandage mixed with salt. Salt, when dissolved, fixes micro-leakage. But it is impossible to apply this method for large formations; one should act differently.

Defects in water supply networks

How to close a fistula in a water pipe is often of interest. Unfortunately, plumbing leaks are a very common occurrence.

At the beginning of embedding, an assessment of the defect and the strength of the workpiece will be required. Small leaks can be eliminated by plugs for this type of tube rolling. You can also try the repair method - winding with gauze impregnated with epoxy resin.

The option with a rubber gasket fixed with a clamp will help temporarily seal the water leak. It and a repair clamp can be purchased at any building materials store. Also, its gasket can be fixed using a wire.

Longitudinal cracks and chips on the pipe are easy to eliminate with sealant. To do this, the fistula is slightly enlarged, degreased and dried.

After that, a sealant is applied to the area. Metal materials in the sewer from water leaks are sealed with cold welding.

Seal a leak with your own hands

Water leaks occur at any time, so sealing fistulas in pipes with your own hands is a very important skill.

For very urgent sealing of the fistula, it is recommended to use a clamp. It is a metal screed. And you need to apply the clamp in this way:

 1. The plumbing system is closed.
 2. Bolts are unscrewed on the clamp, and it is wrapped around the water leakage area.
 3. The nuts on the clamp are tightened with an adjustable wrench, while the pipe itself is held with a pipe wrench. Without support, which will entail additional water leaks and repair costs.

Termination methods using a lock nut and using a rubber band also turn out to be effective. In general, it is not difficult to repair and eliminate a fistula on a pipe.

If there is no self-confidence, then it is worth inviting professional masters. And if the fistula was sealed in one of the temporary ways, then you should worry about how to complete a full pipe repair in the near future.
