Beautiful DIY stickers. How are stickers made? What do I need to make my stickers? Making stickers from self-adhesive paper

Good afternoon.

A sticker is not only fun for children, but also sometimes a convenient and necessary piece (helps to quickly navigate). For example, you have several identical boxes in which you store different tools. It would be convenient if each of them had a certain sticker: here are drills, here are screwdrivers, etc.

Of course, in stores now you can now find a huge variety of stickers, and yet, not all (and it takes time to search)! In this article, I would like to consider the question of how to make a sticker yourself without using some rare items or equipment (by the way, the sticker will not be afraid of water!).

What do you need?

1) Scotch tape.

The most common scotch tape will do. On sale today you can find scotch tapes of various widths: for creating stickers - the wider the better (although a lot depends on the size of your sticker)!

2) Picture.

You can draw a picture yourself on paper. Or you can download it on the Internet and print it on a regular printer. In general, the choice is yours.

3) Scissors.

No comments (any will do).

4) Warm water.

Plain tap water will do.

I think that almost everyone has everything that is needed to create a sticker! And so, let's go directly to the creation.

How to make waterproof sticker by yourself - step by step

STEP 1 - find a picture

The first thing we need is the picture itself, which will be drawn or printed on plain paper. In order not to look for an image for a long time, I just printed a picture from my previous one about antivirus software on a regular laser printer (black and white printer).

Rice. 1. The picture is printed on a conventional laser printer.

By the way, now on sale there are already such printers that can immediately print ready-made stickers! For example, on the site http://price.ua/catalog107.html you can buy a barcode and sticker printer.

STEP 2 - processing the picture with scotch tape

The next step is to "laminate" the surface of the picture with tape. This must be done carefully so that waves and folds do not form on the surface of the paper.

Scotch tape is glued only on one side of the picture(from the front, see Fig. 2). Be sure to smooth the surface with an old calendar or plastic card so that the tape adheres well to the paper with a picture ( this is a very important detail).

By the way, it is undesirable for your picture to be larger than the width of the tape. Of course, you can try to glue the scotch tape in the "overlap" (this is when one strip of scotch tape partially overlaps the other) - but the final result may not be so hot ...

Rice. 2. The surface of the picture is sealed with tape on one side.

STEP 3 - cut out the picture

Now you need to cut out the picture (regular scissors will do). The picture, by the way, is cut to the final dimensions (i.e. this will be the final size of the sticker).

In fig. 3 shows what I got.

Rice. 3.the picture is cut

STEP 4 - water treatment

The last step is processing our workpiece with warm water. This is done quite simply: put the picture in a cup of warm water (or even just keep it under running water from the tap).

After about a minute, the back surface of the picture (which is not treated with tape) will get wet well and you can easily start removing it with your fingers (you just need to gently rub the surface of the paper). You don't need to use any scrapers!

As a result, almost all the paper will be removed, and the picture itself will remain on the scotch tape (moreover, it is very bright). Now you just have to wipe and dry the sticker (you can wipe it with a regular towel).

The resulting sticker has a number of advantages:

It is not afraid of water (waterproof), which means it can be glued to a bicycle, motorcycle, etc.;

The sticker, when dry, fits very well and sticks to almost any surface: iron, paper (including cardboard), wood, plastic, etc.;

The sticker is durable enough;

Does not fade or fade in the sun (at least a year or two);

And the last thing: the cost of making it is extremely low: one A4 sheet - 2 rubles, a piece of scotch tape (a few kopecks). Finding a sticker in a store for such a price is almost impossible ...

PS

Thus, at home, without having any specials. equipment, you can make sufficiently high-quality stickers (if you fill your hand, you cannot distinguish them from purchased ones).

That's all for me. I would be grateful for the additions.

Good luck with your images!

Double-sided tape is incredibly convenient, practical, relatively inexpensive. It is used for many types of handicrafts, including DIY stickers. There are many reasons why people need to make stickers without double-sided tape. We will not dwell on them, but go straight to the instructions.

3 ways with regular single-sided tape

If it is not possible to use double-sided tape, regular tape will do.

Method one

Take a wide tape and place it over the front of the sticker. Next, cut off the excess with scissors, leaving a little around the edges, copying the contours of the picture. Due to the protruding adhesive tape, the sticker is attached to the surfaces.

Improved method

Glue the first blank to another piece of single-sided tape (to the non-sticky side). This will create a sticker with a fully adhesive back.

Third way

  1. Cut off a rectangular piece from the tape.
  2. We roll it up with a tube and straighten it so that there is a sticky layer on the outside.
  3. Glue the adhesive tape to the sticker with one side, straighten it.
  4. It turned out a homemade double-sided version of adhesive tape.

Glue

On ordinary PVA glue, pencil and other stationery types, you can stick single-sided tape to the picture. We simply cover the entire back of the sticker and place it on the glossy side. It remains to cut the sticker along the contour.

Advice
The glue method works better on masking tape: it also sticks well to different surfaces, but thanks to the paper backing, the sticker will hold on tightly.

Another way with glue

This time without tape: just cover the back of the picture with glue and wait until it dries. When the time comes to stick the craft, we wet it a little, and the sticky layer "comes to life". And it's even easier to place the drawing in the right place immediately after applying the glue.

All these methods are inexpensive and convenient, but with double-sided adhesive tape, this work will be even more enjoyable and faster.

In a house where there are children, a lot of money is wasted. Now the kids need a new toy, then a book, then something else. In this article, I would like to talk about how, at home, in order to save money at least a little bit and make the sticker exactly original.

Method 1

It will be easier, of course, to just buy a sticker in a store or order it from a printing house using your own layout. However, this is not that interesting. So how to make a sticker at home? In this case, you will need color or inkjet), as well as (it must match the printer). Now it remains to print the selected pattern, cut the film along the contour and glue it to the required surface - a car, laptop cover, etc.

Method 2

Method 3

The next way is how to make a sticker at home. To do this, you need to choose a suitable drawing, print it or cut it out, and then glue it to the desired surface (always pre-degreased) using ordinary glue (PVA or silicate - depending on which surface the drawing will be glued to). The method is quite simple, but such stickers are short-lived, because they are not protected from moisture, and can quickly fade in the sun. By the same principle, you can plant drawings not on glue, but this is also a good option, but its disadvantages remain the same.

Method 4

A sticker can be prepared at home using the usual one.It is interesting that such a pattern will be glued to the clothes. To do this, you need to cut out the selected pattern from the bag, attach it to your pants or a T-shirt, cover with parchment paper on top (you can use baking paper of any color) and iron it thoroughly with a hot iron. If the drawing is not stuck the first time, the operation should be repeated. It is worth noting that small drawings will stick better, because the iron can easily walk on them at a time.

Method 5

Now I want to talk about how to make a vinyl sticker, but this will require the help of a typography. First you need to prepare the layout. To do this, the selected picture must be presented in vector form (you can do it yourself using the Korel program). If there are no such skills, the workers of the printing house will gladly come to the rescue. Then the picture is transferred to the film. You can also do this in a print shop, but you can try doing it yourself. To do this, you need to purchase a special film and apply a drawing on its surface from the back side. It will not be too difficult to do this, since the indicated material is divided into squares. Now the sticker needs to be attached to the desired surface. This is a rather difficult and time-consuming stage. Also for this you need to stock up on mounting tape. The drawing is superimposed on a dry, clean and even surface, glued on top with mounting film, smoothed with a squeegee. After that, the film is carefully removed. If any part has come off, it must be put in place and, again, well stroked with a squeegee. That's it, the product is ready and already in place!

Hello friends! When was the last time you cleaned up your workplace? They put documents, tools and other things on the shelves. Of course, you can expand and remember these places once, but it's better to sign them all the same. This will more strictly maintain the order of things in their places. But how to sign them? Today we will analyze various options for making stickers or stickers based on paper.

So, for the manufacture of the simplest version of the sticker, we need a paper printer and glue. Of course, the sticker can be drawn or written by hand, but as the saying goes, I am an artist from the word "Bad", so I prefer to use computer technology in all design matters. In any editor available to you, we make an inscription with or without a picture.

How to make a sticker with your own hands

We print it on a printer, cut it out and glue it in the right place. That's all. But this method has its drawbacks. This is the fragility of the sticker. It can get worn out, torn. If it was printed on an inkjet printer, then from the accidental ingress of moisture, ink may spill.

I improved this method a little by adding a little scotch tape to the sticker, of course, clerical tape. Adhesive tape allows you to protect the sticker from all of the above disadvantages.

The technology of using adhesive tape for stickers is simple. It is necessary to carefully apply the front side of the sticker to the adhesive side of the adhesive tape so that a few millimeters of free adhesive tape remain on its sides. If the sticker is small, trim off the excess tape. Next, turn over the sticker and apply it to the desired place. Gently smooth the tape around the edges. The production of such a sticker does not require the use of glue. And outwardly it will look like laminated. This method also has its drawback. This is a limited size sticker by the width of the scotch tape, as a rule, it is 5 cm, but that was enough for me. To make a larger label, you must use self-adhesive printer paper. Print out the desired text or picture, cut and paste. Only you will need to fork out for such paper, and even all the disadvantages of ordinary paper are inherent in it. Do you need it?

Especially for the readers of the blog "Your Computer" are developed canning jar sticker sets... The set consists of 4 sheets of 15 colored stickers of different themes: "Jam", "Jam", "Compote", "Pickles"... Print them on a color printer and stick them on the jars with tape.

Download set of pdf stickers on cans for canning. Happy canning.

Yes, I almost forgot. On the Internet, I came across another method of making adhesive tape-based stickers. Only for its implementation it is necessary to print an inscription or a picture on a laser printer. not suitable for this method. Everything is done as I described above, only before gluing the paper base is soaked in water and gently washed off. The image remains on the tape. The advantage of this method is that a transparent background of the sticker is obtained. In these ways you canmake a stickerdo it yourself. Take your pick!

Pasting funny ornaments is a familiar activity from childhood. Such funny details can beautifully complement the interior of the house. As a rule, this way you can decorate a nursery. Stickers can be used to decorate a pencil case, a box for small items or a box of toys. Gluing ornaments is a great way to keep your child entertained, but adults can also enjoy the same activity.

You can decorate clothes with glue appliques, they can be glued to musical instruments, or you can make a unique light bulb with a boring lampshade. The details of the product are made from film, paper or fabric. There are a lot of manufacturing options. The main thing is the selection of an organic option. ... In a word, it is unlikely or it will be possible to find a more suitable decorating technique..

Basic methods

There are several methods, you need to start with the simplest.

You can print the drawing on color or black and white paper - it all depends on the taste of the artist. The drawing can be copied using a photocopier... Then the blanks must be cut and glued together with ordinary glue, for example, PVA. These stickers are very simple to make, but they are short-lived, sensitive to moisture and bright sunlight. If the workpiece is made with a gel pen or pencil, then over time, its outline will blur and become indistinct.

If you need to create a small blank, you will need to repeat all the steps as in the first option. But you need to glue on tape... It needs to be glued to the back of the image and to the surface where you plan to place the sticker.

Lamination

Self-adhesive paper and stencils

In a stationery store, you can buy special self-adhesive paper, it can be ordinary or decorative.

Garment decoration

If you plan to make a sticker on your clothes, then you will need other materials. You can copy the pattern you like from a plastic bag and, using parchment paper as a base, apply the pattern to the fabric and iron it with an iron. Or draw a pattern on plastic yourself. Applying packs of different shades, you can create very attractive applique style stickers. It is only necessary to choose small drawings - large ones will look ugly.

Manufacturing rules

Remaining glue can be saved. It will turn into a gel over time. The composition must be stored in a tightly closed jar. The shelf life of homemade glue is several months. If you need to use it again, place the container in a pot of warm water.

Dignity

Vinyl decals have many benefits... One of the main ones is the low cost of such products. Pasting the entire car will cost its owner about 25 thousand rubles, and the price of applying vinyl products to individual parts of the car body will be 7-8 thousand rubles. Many will agree - this is a price that will not do much damage to the wallet. For example, airbrushing will cost at least 5 times more. If we compare it with the well-known Oracal film in practice, which is relatively inexpensive, then the difference will be even more noticeable.

Significant cost savings when using vinyl stickers can be achieved due to the fact that the idea of a future pattern can be searched somewhere on the Internet. This means that you do not have to use the services of professional artists, which are very expensive. If the creator of the stickers has experience in such a program as Corel Draw, then the image of the future drawing is completely possible to come up with from scratch on your own. In this case, the car sticker is 100% will turn out to be unique and unique. Advertising can be applied to a car in the same way.

Film selection

First you need to decide on the manufactory and the pattern from which the sticker will be made. The material is usually vinyl. It can be of several types:

Working conditions

In order to qualitatively apply an ornament to a car with your own hands, you must clearly adhere to some safety rules:

Stickers on the car

Ornament for a car or motorcycle can be purchased ready-made or made with your own hands. In the latter case, you need to draw a suitable drawing on paper or find a ready-made template on the Internet and print it. Then the design is transferred to the vinyl blank and cut ... Having a ready-made template on hand, you can go directly to its sticker on the car.

Methods

There are several methods of pasting cars, but in an ordinary garage, it is better to use a dry or wet method.
