Now we will talk about how to make cotton candy at home. The first thing to do is to make a cotton candy machine. To make it, you need a bottle with a volume of 5 liters, an engine from any children's toy, a lid from a jar, a power supply and a box. The power of the power supply should be from 12 -20v, any charger from the phone can do.

In the bottle cap, cut a hole and insert the engine.
The main thing is that the engine is held tight, for this you can add a couple of drops of glue. From above, we put on a nipple rubber band on the rotor and fasten the lid from the can.

We connect the power supply, its wire must pass through the bottle and connect to the engine.

The cotton candy machine is almost ready, it remains to find a box and insert the machine into it.

Now he is ready. It remains to prepare the desired mixture. To prepare the mixture, we need: a metal mug, sugar, water, a stove.
First you need to lubricate the lid from under the jar with oil. This is necessary so that the mixture does not stick to the lid.
Next, in a metal mug, pour one tablespoon of sugar and add water. There should not be much water, it is enough that the sugar is only soaked.

Put on fire and stir constantly. It is necessary that the water evaporates, and only thick caramel remains. As soon as the water stops boiling and starts to turn brown, the mixture is ready. After preparing the mixture, it is necessary to do everything quickly so that the mixture does not have time to harden. We start the miracle unit and with a small stream, drip the mixture onto the lid of the jar. Caramel will once fly in different directions and start up cobwebs. That's all.

Many people ask, is it possible to make cotton candy yourself or is it possible to make a cotton candy machine yourself?

Answering the first question: yes, of course! Even at home, you can make cotton candy with your own hands. To do this, it is enough to buy an electric motor, attach an analogue of a jet head to it (a tin can with a bunch of holes) and pour hot sugar syrup into a rotating head. At the exit, a sweet sugar fiber will fly - if it is collected and wound on a stick, then there will be cotton candy. Here's how it happens in the video:

Now we need to answer the second question: is it possible to make a cotton candy machine with your own hands and earn money on it?

Not everything is simple here: on the one hand, there are drawings of machines on the Internet that can (theoretically) produce cotton candy. And I can even give one of them as an example - see photo

The design includes: an electric motor (from a washing machine), a disk (analogous to a jet head), bushings, and a housing. It is interesting to read the description of the device:

“It is possible to use any other while maintaining the specified number of revolutions of the shaft. The disk is made of sheet aluminum, its diameter is 170 - 180 mm (and the thickness is 0.2 - 0.3 mm. You can use tin from a tin can (from under herring). ”

The production process of cotton wool is also very interestingly described:

“To prepare 8-10 standard servings, place 110-115 grams of granulated sugar (20-22 sugar cubes) in a small, preferably enameled dish. Pour this 120 - 150 ml of water and, without stirring, put on fire. After 5-10 minutes, the water will boil away, and the sugar will begin to turn a little yellow, a light, characteristic smell of burnt sugar will appear. Beat the foam with horizontal movements of the ladle and pour the contents of the ladle in a thin stream onto the edge of a 2-4 mm disk that is already rotating. Hot syrup, breaking into thousands of thin threads, solidifies at room temperature.

Then turn off the engine, separate the threads from the body with a simple knife, cut the finished product along the diameter line and roll the resulting semicircle on the table into a tube. Do the same with the second semicircle and cut the “cotton wool” into the desired number of servings. Food coloring may be used.

To maintain the high quality of the “cotton wool”, it is necessary to clean the disk of adhering syrup after each working cycle. When using two or three buckets at once, the manufacturing process becomes virtually continuous. Do not despair if the first time the product is not of very high quality, use the same mass again.

As you can understand, already in the theory of the future watokat, a lot of difficulties await. In practice, I'm sure there will be even more of them - we must not forget that we work in outbound trade and therefore the apparatus must be assembled and disassembled all the time. Unfortunately, under such conditions it is impossible to ensure the constant quality of products and reasonable speed of cotton wool production.

Therefore, both answers to the second question are negative: it is impossible to make a cotton candy apparatus with your own hands, and even more so, it will be impossible to make money on it!

Friends, let's not get lost on the Internet! I suggest that you receive notifications by email when my new articles are published, so you will always receive all new articles.

Children love cotton candy. Until recently, they had a chance to feast on it only on the days of visiting zoos and an amusement park. Now, thanks to a compact device for making cotton candy, you can make this delicacy at home.

The principle of making cotton candy

The main ingredient in making cotton wool is sugar. It can be ordinary granulated sugar or special sugar with food coloring and flavorings. The latter is much more convenient. With such a product, no additional ingredients need to be added to the sugar syrup during the preparation process.

Please note that such sugar may contain unhealthy dyes and additives.

Cotton candy machines are industrial and compact. At home, it is compact devices that are used. They are small in size with a special turbine in the middle of the upper bowl. The principle of operation of the machine for making cotton candy is very simple. The required amount of sugar is poured into the turbine, the apparatus is turned on. When the turbine is heated, the sugar melts and turns into syrup. Then, at high speed, the molten mass scatters onto the walls of the upper bowl with a thin sugar cobweb. This is cotton candy, which then needs to be collected on a stick with winding movements.

There is another type of device for making cotton candy. It uses a disk instead of a turbine, onto which a pre-prepared sugar syrup is poured in a thin stream. A disk rotating at high speed scatters a thin sugar cobweb on the walls of the apparatus. Then cotton candy is carefully removed from the walls of the device with a stick. It is more difficult to use such an apparatus, since you will have to additionally prepare sugar syrup. But when using such a device, you can experiment with recipes, additives and dyes.

If you use a machine with a turbine for making cotton candy at home, it will be enough for you to purchase a sugar mixture with different flavors and dyes.

When buying such mixtures, pay attention to the composition. It should contain only natural dyes.

If you have a disc or turntable machine, you can experiment with sugar syrup recipes.

Fruity cotton candy. Make sugar syrup. To do this, pour one glass of sugar into the pan, pour in half a glass of water and a few drops of vinegar. When the mass begins to heat up, add half a glass of any berry or fruit syrup to it. Bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Turn on the cotton candy maker and then start pouring the fruit syrup in a thin stream onto the spinning disc. Collect the sugar web on a stick.

Nutty cotton candy. Prepare a syrup of sugar, water and vinegar. Once the syrup is hot, add a few drops of nut essence to it. As soon as the mixture begins to boil, remove it from the heat and cook the cotton candy on the machine according to the instructions.

Classic cotton candy recipe. This recipe uses only sugar and water to make syrup. If necessary, a few drops of vinegar and vanilla essence can be added to the syrup.

I recently got into fundraising for a mission I'm about to embark on and I've been thinking about getting people to help me. I liked the cotton candy idea, but the machine to make it is too expensive. Therefore, I began to search for information on how cotton candy is made and found the mixture recipe I needed. If the mixture is stirred very quickly, it will turn into thin threads of cotton candy. In this article, I will share with you my experience on how to make cotton candy at home.

Step 1: Ingredients and Materials

List of ingredients for making cotton candy at home without a machine:

  • Sugar
  • corn syrup
  • Flavors (for your taste, I used watermelon and blueberry)
  • Food coloring (I used red and blue)
  • Spray oil (I used coconut oil)

Tools:

  • cooking thermometer
  • Three wooden spatulas
  • A container in which you will collect cotton threads (I used a bowl)
  • A container into which you will pour the cotton candy mixture (heat-resistant and microwave-safe)
  • A whisk that you don't feel sorry for
  • Measuring cups (240 ml, 80 ml, 60 ml, 15 ml and 7.5 ml)
  • Two heavy items (I used two bricks)
  • Scissors

Step 2: Cooking the Blades and Whisk

I advise you to prepare the sweet somewhere outside, because in the process of cooking it will fly everywhere. Place two spatulas on the edge of the table and press down on their handles with something heavy. Now spray them with oil. Now take the whisk and cut its loops in half to make rods. Set aside your work tools for now.

Step 3: Prepare the mixture

This part requires attention, as the mixture should not be overmixed and overcooked on fire.

For the mixture, take:

  • 300 ml sugar
  • 80 ml corn syrup
  • 82 ml water
  • Food coloring
  • flavoring

Pour and pour all the ingredients from a height into a container for the mixture and place over moderate heat. Put a thermometer in the bowl. While stirring slowly, bring the mixture to a boil, stop stirring. Leave the mixture until the temperature rises to 160°C. Then pour the mixture into a microwaveable container, add coloring and flavoring.

Step 4: Making Cotton Candy

When the mixture is ready, take it and a container, and go to the fixed blades. You need to dip the cut whisk into the mixture and quickly wave it over the shoulder blades. In this case, the mixture scatters into thin threads and air enters it, because of this, the cotton wool becomes fluffy. So, the harder you wave the whisk, the fluffier the cotton candy will be. As soon as cotton is collected on the shoulder blades, remove it into a bowl for finished cotton wool.
