How dad was little

DEAR GUYS!

I want to tell you how this book was born. Here is her story. I have a daughter, Sasha. She is now a big girl. Now she herself often says: "When I was little ..." So, when Sasha was very little, she was sick a lot. She had the flu, then the sore throat. And then my ears hurt. If you've ever had otitis media, you don't need to explain how painful it is. And if it wasn't, then you don't need to explain it either - you will never understand it.

Once Sasha's ear hurt so much that she cried all day and could hardly sleep. I felt so sorry for her that I almost cried myself. And I read different books to her or told funny stories. So I told her about how little I was and threw my new ball under the car. Sasha really liked this story. She liked that dad was also small, he was also naughty and did not obey and he was also punished. She remembered this. And now, as soon as she started shooting in her ear, she immediately shouted: “Dad, dad, my ear hurts! Quickly tell me how little you were! " And I told her everything that you are about to read. I chose the funniest stories: after all, it was necessary to cheer up the sick girl. And I also tried to make my daughter understand how bad it is to be greedy, braggart, and arrogant. But this does not mean at all that I myself have been like that all my life. I just tried to remember only such cases. And when I missed them, I took them from other dads I know. After all, each of them was also once small. So all these stories were not invented by me, but in reality.

Now Sasha has grown up. She is less sick and reads big, thick books herself.

But I decided that maybe the other guys are also interested in learning about how one dad was little.

That's all guys I wanted to tell you. No, I will tell you one more thing in confidence. This book has a sequel. It will be different for each of you. After all, every dad can tell how little he was. And mom too. I would like to listen to them myself.

Well, now that's it. Goodbye, guys! I wish you happiness and health.

Respecting you

HOW DAD THROWED THE BALL UNDER THE CAR

When dad was still young and lived in the small town of Pavlovo-Posad, he was presented with a big ball of amazing beauty. This ball was like the sun. No, he was even better than the sun. First, you could look at him without squinting. And it was exactly four times more beautiful than the sun, because it was of four colors. And the sun is only one color, and even that is difficult to see. One side of the ball was pink like candy, the other brown, like the most delicious chocolate. The top was blue as the sky, and the bottom was green as grass. Such a ball has never been seen in the small town of Pavlovo Posad. They specially went to Moscow for him. But I think that in Moscow there were few such balls. Not only children came to look at it, but also adults.

“This is a ball!” Everyone said.

And it was a really great ball. And dad was very proud. He acted as if he had invented this ball himself, made and painted it in four colors. When dad proudly went out into the street to play with his beautiful ball, boys came running from all sides.

- Oh, what a ball! They said. - Let me play!

But dad grabbed his ball and said:

- I'm not giving it! This is my ball! Nobody has such a thing! He was brought from Moscow! Get away! Don't touch my ball!

And then the boys said:

- Eh you, greedy!

But dad still didn't give them his wonderful ball. He played with him alone. And playing alone is very boring. And the greedy dad was deliberately playing around the boys to make them jealous.

And then the boys said this:

- He is greedy. Let's not get along with him!

And for two days they did not go out with him. And on the third day they said:

- You have nothing. It's right. It's big and nicely painted. But if you throw it under a car, it will burst like the worst black ball. So there’s nothing to turn up your nose.

- My ball will never burst! - said dad proudly, who by that time was so arrogant, as if he himself had been painted in four colors.

- How it will burst! - the boys laughed.

- No, it won't burst!

- And here comes the car, - said the boys. - Well, what are you? Throw it! Or scared?

"After all, all the adults were children at first, only few of them remember about it."

This book can be read in 30 minutes, but this fact did not prevent the book from becoming a world classic. The author of the story is a French writer, poet and professional pilot Antoine de Saint - Exupery. This allegorical tale is the most famous work of the author. First published in 1943 (April 6) in New York. An interesting fact is that the drawings in the book were made by the author himself and have become no less famous than the book itself.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger de Saint-Exupery (fr. Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger de Saint-Exup? ry; June 29, 1900, Lyon, France - July 31, 1944) - a famous French writer, poet and professional pilot.

Summary of the story

At the age of six, the boy read about how a boa constrictor swallows its prey, and drew a snake that swallowed an elephant. It was a drawing of a boa constrictor on the outside, but the adults claimed it was a hat. Adults always need to explain everything, so the boy made another drawing - a boa constrictor from the inside. Then the adults advised the boy to give up this nonsense - according to them, he should have done more geography, history, arithmetic and spelling. So the boy abandoned his brilliant career as an artist. He had to choose another profession: he grew up and became a pilot, but he still showed his first drawing to those adults who seemed to him smarter and more intelligent than the others, and everyone answered that it was a hat. It was impossible to talk to them heart to heart - about boas, jungles and stars. And the pilot lived alone until he met the Little Prince.

This happened in the Sahara. Something broke in the plane's engine: the pilot had to fix it or die, because there was only water left for a week. At dawn, the pilot was awakened by a thin voice - a tiny baby with golden hair, who, no one knows how, got into the desert, asked to draw a lamb for him. The astonished pilot did not dare to refuse, especially since his new friend was the only one who could see in the first drawing a boa constrictor who swallowed an elephant. Gradually it became clear that the Little Prince flew in from a planet called "asteroid B-612" - of course, the number is necessary only for boring adults who adore numbers.

The planet was the size of a house, and the Little Prince had to look after her: every day he cleaned three volcanoes - two active and one extinct, and also weed out sprouts of baobabs. The pilot did not immediately understand the danger of baobabs, but then he guessed and, in order to warn all the children, drew a planet where a bummer lived who did not weed out three bushes in time. But the little prince always put his planet in order. But his life was sad and lonely, so he loved to watch the sunset - especially when he was sad. He did this several times a day, just moving his chair to follow the sun. Everything changed when a wonderful flower appeared on his planet: it was a beauty with thorns - proud, touchy and simple-minded. The little prince fell in love with her, but she seemed to him capricious, cruel and arrogant - he was too young then and did not understand how this flower illuminated his life. And so the Little Prince cleared his volcanoes for the last time, pulled out the sprouts of the baobabs, and then said goodbye to his flower, which only at the moment of parting confessed that he loved him.

He went to wander and visited six neighboring asteroids. The king lived on the first: he wanted so much to have subjects that he invited the Little Prince to become a minister, and the kid thought that adults were a very strange people. On the second planet there lived an ambitious on third - drunkard, on the fourth - a business person, and on fifth - a lamplighter. All the adults seemed extremely strange to the Little Prince, and only the Lamplighter liked him: this man remained faithful to the agreement to light in the evenings and extinguish the lanterns in the morning, although his planet was so reduced that day and night changed every minute. Don't be so small here. The little prince would have stayed with the Lamplighter, because he really wanted to make friends with someone - besides, on this planet one could admire the sunset fourteen hundred and forty times a day!

A geographer lived on the sixth planet... And since he was a geographer, he was supposed to ask travelers about the countries where they came from in order to record their stories in books. The little prince wanted to talk about his flower, but the geographer explained that only mountains and oceans are recorded in books, because they are eternal and unchanging, and flowers do not last long. Only then the little prince realized that his beauty would soon disappear, and he left her alone, without protection and help! But the offense had not yet passed, and the little prince went on, but he thought only about his abandoned flower.

Earth was with the eighth is a very difficult planet! Suffice it to say that it has one hundred and eleven kings, seven thousand geographers, nine hundred thousand businessmen, seven and a half million drunkards, three hundred and eleven million ambitious - a total of about two billion adults. But the Little Prince made friends only with the snake, the Fox and the pilot. The snake promised to help him when he bitterly regrets his planet. And the Fox taught him to be friends. Everyone can tame someone and become their friend, but you always need to be responsible for those whom you have tamed. And the Fox also said that only the heart is sharp-sighted - you cannot see the most important thing with your eyes. Then the little prince decided to return to his rose, because he was responsible for it. He went into the desert - to the very place where he fell. So they met the pilot. The pilot drew him a lamb in a box and even a muzzle for a lamb, although he had previously thought that he could only draw boas - outside and inside. The little prince was happy, but the pilot felt sad - he realized that he was also tamed. Then the little prince found a yellow snake, whose bite kills in half a minute: she helped him, as promised. The snake can return anyone to where he came from - it returns people to the earth, and returned the Little Prince to the stars. The kid said to the pilot that it would only look like death, so there is no need to grieve - let the pilot remember him, looking at the night sky. And when the little prince laughs, it will seem to the pilot that all the stars are laughing, like five hundred million bells.

The pilot repaired his plane, and the comrades were delighted at his return. Six years have passed since then: little by little, he consoled himself and loved to look at the stars. But he is always overcome by excitement: he forgot to draw a muzzle strap, and the lamb could eat the rose. Then it seems to him that all the bells are crying. After all, if the rose is no longer in the world, everything will be different, but no adult will ever understand how important it is.

There are works that can be read and re-read many times. The book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery "The Little Prince" is one of those. Since its first publication in 1943, it has been one of the most widely read in the world. Its author, a French pilot and writer, is an adult and remains a child in his heart. The book "The Little Prince" tells about an extraordinary meeting of a pilot (due to a malfunction in the engine, the pilot had to land a plane in the desert) with the Little Prince, a guest from another planet. This work is included in the 6th grade literature program.

"The Little Prince" is a story in form and a fairy tale according to the plot, a story in all understandable language about serious and eternal issues: love, friendship, loyalty and responsibility for loved ones. In order to represent the meaning and main idea of \u200b\u200bthe story, we suggest reading the summary of the "Little Prince" by chapters online.

Chapter 1

As a child, the narrator drew his first picture: a boa constrictor that swallowed an elephant. The adults who saw the drawing decided that it was a hat and advised the boy to take up geography and other sciences instead of drawing. Because of this, the child lost faith in himself.

He chose the profession of a pilot, and flew around almost the whole world. He met with different adults. As soon as it seemed that a person was speaking with him "in the same language", he showed him his children's drawing - the same one with a boa constrictor and an elephant - but everyone, without exception, saw only a hat in the drawing. And then the narrator had no choice but to talk to them about politics, ties and other things they lived with. Heart to heart, there was no one to talk to.

Chapter 2

So the narrator lived alone, until one day a breakdown in the engine forced him to land a plane in the desert. At dawn the sleeping pilot was awakened by a little man who had come from nowhere. He asked me to draw a lamb for him. The hero drew the only picture he could. Imagine his amazement when the boy exclaimed that he did not need an elephant in a boa constrictor!

Trying over and over again to draw such a lamb, which the baby was waiting for, the pilot lost his patience and drew a box. The kid was very pleased - after all, he could see his lamb there.

Such was the acquaintance of the narrator with the Little Prince.

Chapters 3-4

The kid asked many questions, but when the pilot asked about himself, he pretended not to hear. From the scraps of the information received, it became clear that the child is from another planet, and this planet is very small. After thinking, the pilot decided that his home - asteroid B612, seen through a telescope only once - he was so small.

Chapter 5

Little by little, the pilot learned something about the life of the Little Prince. So, once it became known that there are also troubles in the baby's house. Baobabs are common among plants. If you do not distinguish their shoots from others in time and do not weed out, they will quickly destroy the planet, tearing it apart with their roots.

To prevent this from happening, the Little Prince had a firm rule: "I got up in the morning, washed myself, put myself in order - and immediately put your planet in order."

Chapter 6

Gradually it became clear that the baby was often sad on his planet. If “it becomes very sad, it’s good to watch the sun go down,” said the little prince. There was a day when the boy looked at the sky more than forty times ...

Chapter 7

On the fifth day of their acquaintance, the pilot learned the secret of the Little Prince. An extraordinary flower lived on his planet, which no one else in the world had. He was scared that someday, a lamb that destroys baobab sprouts would eat his favorite plant.

Chapter 8

The narrator soon learned more about the flower. The Little Prince once had a tiny sprout that was not like other flowers. Over time, a bud grew on it, which did not open for a long time. When all the petals opened, the baby saw with admiration a real beauty. She turned out to have a difficult character: the guest was a delicate and proud nature. The boy, who took to heart everything that the beauty said, felt unhappy and decided to flee, going on a journey.

Telling the story about the flower, the Kid already understood that “it was necessary to judge not by words, but by deeds” - after all, the beauty gave the planet aroma, but he did not know how to rejoice at this and “did not know how to love”.

Chapter 9

Before the trip, the boy carefully cleaned his planet. When he said goodbye to the beautiful guest, she suddenly asked for forgiveness, wished him happiness and confessed that she loved the Little Prince.

Chapters 10-11

There were several asteroids very close to the kid's planet, he decided to visit there and learn something.

There was a king on the first planet. The monarch gave only executable orders. For this reason, it was necessary to wait for the exact time to see the sunset. The little prince became bored - he needed to see the sunset when he wanted, at the call of his heart.

On the second planet lived an ambitious person who thought that everyone admired him. The desire of the ambitious to be smarter, more beautiful and richer than all seemed strange to the boy.

Chapters 12-13

The third planet belonged to a drunkard. The little prince was at a loss when he heard that he was drinking in order to forget about how ashamed he was because he was drinking.

The master of the fourth planet was a business man. He was always busy: he counted the stars in the confidence that he owned them. From him, according to the hero, there was no benefit.

Chapters 14-15

On the smallest planet lived a lamplighter who lit and extinguished the lantern every moment. His occupation was useful, in the kid's opinion, because the lamplighter thought not only about himself.

The hero also visited the geographer's planet. The scientist wrote down the stories of travelers, but he himself never saw the seas, deserts and cities.

Chapters 16-17

The seventh planet, on which the little prince found himself, was the Earth, and it was huge.

At first, the baby saw no one on the planet except a snake. From her, he learned that not only in the desert, but also among people, it is also lonely. The snake promised to help him on the day when the boy is sad about his home.

Chapter 18

While wandering in the desert, the hero came across a small, unattractive flower. The flower did not know where to look for people - in all his life he saw only a few of them and thought that they were carried by the wind, because people did not have roots.

Chapter 19

Having climbed the mountain that got in the way, the little prince hoped to see the whole Earth and all people. But instead I saw only rocks and heard an echo. "Strange planet!" - the kid decided, and he felt sad.

Chapter 20

Once the little hero saw a garden with many roses. They looked like his beauty, and the baby stopped, amazed. It turned out that his flower is not the only one in the world and is not at all special. It hurt to think about it, he sat down in the grass and began to cry.

Chapter 21

At that moment the Fox appeared. The little prince was going to make friends, but it turned out that first the animal needs to be tamed. Then "we will need each other ... My life will shine like the sun," said Fox.

The fox taught the kid that "you can only learn those things that you tame," and "to tame, you need to be patient." He revealed to the boy an important secret: “Only one heart is sharp-sighted. You will not see the main thing with your eyes ”and asked to remember the law:“ You are forever responsible for everyone you tamed ”. The little prince understood: the beautiful rose is the most precious of all, he gave her all his time and energy, and he was responsible for the rose - after all, he tamed her.

Chapter 22

Going further, the little prince met a switchman who was sorting the passengers. The kid asked him where and why people were going, what were they looking for? No one knew the answer, and the hero decided that "only children know what they are looking for."

Chapter 23

Then the boy saw a merchant selling improved pills. Thanks to this, you could save almost an hour a week, take one pill - and you don't need to drink for a week. If the kid had so many free minutes, he would just go to a living spring ...

Chapter 24

The pilot drank the last remaining water. Together, the boy and the adult set off in search of the well. When the baby was tired, he was comforted by the thought that somewhere there was his flower, and the desert was beautiful because springs were hidden in it. After the kid's words about the desert, the narrator understood what kind of mysterious light he saw above the sands: "Whether it be a house, stars or a desert, the most beautiful thing about them is that you cannot see with your eyes."

At dawn, the pilot with the boy in his arms reached the well.

Chapter 25

The pilot gave the kid a drink. The water was, "as a gift to the heart," it "was born from a long journey under the stars, from the creak of a gate, from the efforts of hands."

Now the friends spoke the same language and both knew that very little was needed to be happy.

The main character realized that the kid wants to return home.

Chapter 26

After repairing the engine, the pilot returned to the well the next evening and saw that the little prince was talking to a snake. The pilot became very scared for the baby. After being informed that at night he would be able to return home and protect the rose, the boy became very serious. He promised to give his adult friend special stars. “Each person has his own stars” - the pilot's stars will be able to laugh.

Very soon, a snake flashed near the little prince, biting him, and he fell silently and slowly.

Chapter 27

The pilot never told anyone about the Little Prince. He knew - the baby returned to his house, because in the morning he was not on the sand. And now the narrator loves to watch and listen to the stars, they sometimes laugh quietly, then cry.

Conclusion

Talking about the hero's journey, the author talks to us about eternal human values, about the importance of keeping childish purity and naivety in life, about the real perception of the world. After studying the short retelling of The Little Prince, getting acquainted with the plot and characters, you can move on: read the full text and feel the life-affirming beginning of the tale, where the adult hero began to hear the stars and see the world in a new way.

HOW DAD THROWED THE BALL UNDER THE CAR

And then the boys said:

Throw it! Or scared?

And little dad threw his ball under the car. Everyone froze for a minute. The ball rolled between the front wheels and hit the right rear wheel. The car all skewed, ran over the ball and rushed on. And the ball remained completely unharmed.

- Didn't burst! Didn't burst! - Dad shouted and ran to his ball. But then there was such a noise, as if fired from a small cannon. The ball burst. And when dad ran to him, he saw only a dusty rubber rag, completely ugly and uninteresting. And then dad started crying and ran home. And the boys laughed with all their might.

- Burst! Burst! They shouted. - Serve you, greedy!

When dad ran home and said that he had thrown his wonderful new ball under the car, he was immediately spanked by his grandmother. In the evening, grandfather came home from work and spanked him too.

At the same time, he said:

- I'm not hitting for the ball, but for stupidity.

And for a long time afterwards everyone wondered: how was it possible to throw such a good ball under the car?

- Only a very stupid boy could do that! - everyone said.

And for a long time everyone teased dad and asked:

- Where is your new ball?

And only one uncle did not laugh. He asked dad to tell him everything from the very beginning. Then he said:

- No, you're not stupid!

And dad was very happy.

“But you’re greedy and boastful,” said my uncle. - And this is very sad for you. Anyone who wants to play alone with his ball is always left with nothing. This happens in both children and adults. So it will be with you all your life if you remain the same.

And then dad got very scared, and cried with all his might, and said that he did not want to be greedy and boastful. He cried so long and so loudly that his uncle believed him and bought a new ball. True, he was not so handsome. But all the boys in the neighborhood played with this ball. And it was fun, and no one teased Daddy being greedy.

HOW DAD TAMED THE DOG

When dad was still young, he was taken to the circus. It was very interesting. He especially liked the tamer of wild animals. He dressed very nicely, had a very nice name, and all the lions and tigers feared him. He had a whip and pistols, but he hardly ever used them.

- And the animals are afraid of my eyes! - he declared from the arena. - My gaze is my most powerful weapon! The wild beast cannot bear the human sight!

Indeed, as soon as he looked at the lion, he sat down on a pedestal, jumped on a barrel and even pretended to be dead, unable to bear his gaze.

The orchestra played carcasses, the audience clapped their hands, everyone looked at the tamer, and he pressed his hands to his heart and bowed in all directions. That was great! And dad decided that he would become a tamer too. For a start, he decided to tame some not very wild animal with his gaze. After all, dad was still little. He understood that such large animals as the lion and the tiger were too tough for him. You need to start with a dog and, of course, not a very large one, because a large dog is already almost a small lion. But a smaller dog would be useful.

For a long time I looked at this book by Ruskin and finally decided to buy it.
And I took several copies at once, as it turned out, not in vain. ALL the copies went from hand to hand, and I again run to order this book until it disappeared from sale again, as it already happened.

Itaaaak .... this is another wonderful book with many small stories that Alexander Raskin tells his daughter Sasha about his childhood, when he himself was a little boy, when he was teased in the yard, he learned to write, play the piano, be naughty and naughty , went to first grade, then went to school ... was fond of table tennis, hated German and read poetry on holidays, and ... and what else can a boy from 4 to 12-13 years old love-do-hate?

A wonderful light text, the author seems to be really sitting here next to him and talking animatedly and emotionally about his childhood. And it seems that I see all the emotions on the face of the already grown "little dad" when he recalls all these events of his life, which he shares with such warmth with his readers, as with his daughter. And together with him you worry and laugh when little dad is teased by Shurochka, when he gets stuck on the wall in a physical education lesson when he is trying to build the first stool in his life. And each story has its own ... thought (the word "morality" is too loud here, but the word "thought" is the very thing!).
The author does not teach or instruct readers, does not lecture, but simply shares how he himself came to understand simple but important things.

The incomparable Lev Tokmakov illustrated the "little dad" for us. And what else is needed for a masterpiece? Even the serial cover didn't stop me :)
The stories in the book are different - there are sad ones ("How Dad Hunted a Tiger", in which the boys stoned a kitten), there are funny, there are simply with deep meaning ("How Dad chose a profession" - what you need to become in life). Like life itself, the book is full of different events. Under the cut you can read the stories:
"How dad threw the ball under the car"
"How dad tamed a dog",
"How dad chose a profession",
"How Dad Threw Bread"
