Gost for installation of slopes on plastic windows. Installation of plastic (pvc) windows according to GOST

With the emergence of innovative technologies, ordinary residents were able to equip their homes with greater comfort, coziness and warmth. Plastic windows play a significant role in this process. Finally, we can get rid of wooden windows that dry out in summer, dry out in winter, retain heat poorly and become sources of drafts.

A glass unit of a modern type does not have the listed disadvantages at all. It is durable, strong, safe for the human body, has a beautiful and attractive appearance. PVC windows will delight you with their functionality for a long time, but with only one condition: the installation of double-glazed windows must be in accordance with GOST and the observance of all the nuances and rules of installation technology. How to install plastic windows correctly if you have never done this before?

Trying to do the installation of double-glazed windows with your own hands is quite problematic, especially if you live in a multi-storey building. This will require the skill of a climber, which you will not have. Therefore, the easiest way out is to hire specialists. But even if workers who deserve numerous good reviews and recommendations come to you, you should check whether they are installing your window correctly. And for this you need to know the main points of the installation of plastic windows, which, for your part, you must control.

Window installation

The technology for installing a plastic window in accordance with GOST involves the step-by-step implementation of a number of measures and measures according to specified criteria, and in strict sequence each stage.

Installation of PVC windows in accordance with GOST begins with dismantling the old window: workers must completely remove it, clean the opening to the brick or concrete base of the frame. Further, the workers must prime the surface of the slopes into which the new frame will fit.

Please note that the installers use a primer when working, but not water. The primer will ensure good adhesion of the materials, which will then be used to seal the voids that have arisen.

How is the special tape attached to the PVC frame? The compressed compressed tape is attached around the perimeter frames from the outside. Its main purpose is to remove residual moisture that remains in the window opening. Such a device restrains the penetration of moisture in the opposite direction.

Then to the window frame attach the diffusion tape... As a rule, it is white in color, with a dense fabric structure on a rubber basis. It adheres well to openings in the wall, and also protects the seam from moisture.

After all tapes have been attached, the installers fix the anchor plates to the frame... They are placed around the entire perimeter with a distance of 70 cm from each other. After that, the window block can be installed in the window opening.

Now the installation of a plastic window in accordance with GOST goes to another stage, including it fastening to the window opening.

Important! The glass unit should not be placed on concrete, but on wooden blocks that have been treated with an antiseptic compound. These pads help to adjust the clearances between the frame and the concrete slope. According to existing regulations, the gap should not exceed 2 cm.

When the anchor plates are attached to the wall opening, the resulting gap must be fill with polyurethane foam.

Foam is additional thermal insulation... It should fill all gaps and crevices to prevent excess moisture from entering. In addition, it is the polyurethane foam that helps to reduce noise. After filling the cracks with foam from the inside, the seams must be close with dense diffuse tape.

Before installing the window sill, workers should use metallized tape, which takes part in the thermal insulation of the bottom seam.

Remember! Professional installers should lay the protective tape over the outside of the window, that is, from the street. And the foam from the side of the facade should not be visible at all.

Sill mount

- this is the final stage of installation of PVC windows.

A cement screed is laid on the concrete base, which will help ensure the stability of the window sill. Only on this solution will it not sag and even will be able to support the weight of a person who wants to sit on a comfortable base.

Internal slopes are applied to the initial profile, and each subsequent step is carried out using measurements of the building level, which helps trace the level of inclination of the frame... If it exceeds the norm even a little, then the window will be bad both to open and close. Therefore, the construction crew must be closely monitored.

Installation of plastic windows in accordance with GOST 30971-2002 should be carried out in this sequence. And finally, we note that before letting the workers go and signing the work acceptance act, check the work of the window, open and close the flaps and check for correct operation in all directions.

In conclusion, we suggest watching a video of how the installation of a plastic window according to GOST should look like:

If you happened to install plastic windows, and the workers who served you performed the installation strictly according to the instructions and in accordance with GOST 30971-2002, leave your feedback in the comments.

When buying a window, we plan that it will be able to function properly for many decades. However, this is only possible if the window is correctly installed. Almost all specialists have their own methods and secrets, but there are also special fixed norms - GOST and SNiP. It is the installation of PVC windows in accordance with GOST that is capable of giving the highest quality result.

Regulations

Installation of PVC windows in accordance with GOST will guarantee its long and trouble-free service. Today, all types of work related to this area are governed by four main standards:

  • GOST 30674-99... It contains general information on the issue and basic requirements for windows. The installation process itself is practically not mentioned in this GOST.
  • GOST R52749-2007... This standard focuses on the process of installing windows using a vapor-permeable, self-expanding sealing tape.
  • GOST 30971-2012... This document contains the most detailed information on the issue. It also contains the exact requirements for the size of windows, device parameters and materials for filling joints, methods of fastening structures and similar information. It also describes the requirements for regulatory documentation, some warranty obligations of the contractor and general requirements for the performance of work. This standard was introduced at the beginning of 2014 and replaced the outdated GOST 30971-2002 for window installation.
  • SNiP 23-02-2003... The standard sets the parameters for thermal protection of premises. Suffice it to mention that it requires the installation of a 3-chamber double-glazed unit for most climatic zones of Russia and a 5-chamber for Siberia.
The standards take into account the climatic zone in which the plastic window will be installed

All of the above regulatory documents are valid, but not binding. The only exceptions were the various requirements, one way or another related to safety.... Compliance with GOSTs only helps to achieve the highest quality window installation.

Preparing for installation

The very installation of plastic windows in accordance with GOST differs little in general terms from the usual installation of a PVC window. The main differences lie in the nuances and compliance with a number of requirements. The technology for installing plastic windows is as follows:

Measurements

Before starting work, a number of measurements should be taken. The dimensions of the window are set in the following way: the width of the window is the width of the window opening, from which the doubled width of the mounting gap (which will be on both sides) is subtracted, the height is the same. According to GOST, the minimum width of such a gap is 2 cm, and in calculations, an indicator of 2.5-3 cm is most often used.

When installing a window with a quarter, measurements are taken from the outside

If we are talking about installing a window in an opening with an outer quarter, then all measurements should be made from the outside. The width will be the distance between the quarters, increased by the size of the factory of the frame per quarter, which ranges from 2.5 to 4 cm. The height is determined in the same way.

Preparatory work

After the windows are manufactured and delivered to the customer, you should not immediately start work. It is recommended to first prepare the room: clear the space near the window for convenient work, remove unnecessary things and furniture, close the walls and remaining objects with film or thick cloth. The sashes from the frame are dismantled, the cavity of the support profile is filled with heat-insulating foam. The latter is recommended to be done one day before installation.

Particular attention should be paid to the opening itself - it must be cleaned of dirt and dust in advance. If there are noticeable irregularities, they are leveled with a putty..

Fastening

GOST stipulates two main types of window fastening. The first is made in the plane of installation - screws are attached directly through the frame. This option is used most often, but requires that the door sashes and double-glazed windows from the frame have been removed in advance. The advantage of this method is the ease of installation in the opening.

Most often, self-tapping screws are used for fastening.

The second option is based on the use of fittings built into the frame during production. The whole structure can be mounted. It should be noted that its weight will be quite large, so the process will require some effort and skill.

Installation work

The installation of plastic windows in accordance with GOST provides for one important point: the frame is not installed on a bare brick or similar base. Instead, small wooden blocks soaked in solutions are placed. They will help in aligning the window.

After that, either a separate frame is placed on them, or the entire structure as a whole, which depends on the preferred type of fastening. For greater stability and reliability, the supports are left part of the structure, and wedges are knocked out from above between the window and the wall to fix it. After that, the frame is similarly attached from the sides. Controlling the process with a level, the frame is leveled, the adjustment is carried out by adding substrates.

Fastening of the frame, according to GOST, can be carried out through pre-drilled fasteners. You should start from the bottom, gradually moving higher... To top it off, the structure is additionally checked for horizontalness and all screws and anchors are tightened.

Drain installation and window assembly

Most often, a special groove is provided from the outer part of the window into which the drain is mounted. GOST claims that it should be foamed during installation. If you need to create a more durable structure, the drain is additionally secured with screws.

The drain is mounted in a special groove from the outside

Upon completion, it is required to conduct another control check of the entire structure: for strength, verticality and horizontalness. After that, it remains to assemble the window. The assembly process takes place in the reverse order of disassembly: in the process, restraints, handles and other accessories return to their places.

Filling the gaps

Particular attention in GOSTs is paid to filling the gaps. This procedure is almost always performed with polyurethane foam. This material has been tested over the years of work, but still has a number of drawbacks. First of all, its resistance to environmental influences and ultraviolet radiation leaves much to be desired. That is why the GOST standards prescribe the maximum insulation of all seams from all sides - this will avoid the destruction of the insulation, which can result in loss of tightness, fogging of windows and the penetration of cold from the street into the house.

The isolation procedure is as follows: from the inside, along the entire perimeter, a waterproofing tape for PVC windows is glued. The tape must also be vapor-tight. At the bottom, a strip of foil is glued, which will later appear under the window sill board. They pass in the same way on the outside. PSUL adhesive strip (moisture-proof and vapor-proof). This membrane film is able to pass steam out.

Installation of windows in accordance with GOST provides for mandatory waterproofing of gaps

Both of these materials are characterized not only by the fact that it is not difficult to find them on the construction market. They also differ in availability, that is, the final price of work will not increase so much as a result, but the quality will increase significantly. In addition, a structure mounted in this way will last several years longer.

To fill the gap when installing PVC windows in accordance with GOST, the strips are slightly bent, and the surface is wetted from the inside. Apply the composition with a pistol. Foam is used as a filler, intended for use all year round. According to GOST, ordinary foam can also be used, but only at temperatures up to 30 degrees below zero. Given the conditions in most regions, such insulation of the seam in Russia turns out to be of little use..

Installation of a window sill

At the last stage of the work, the window sill is installed. This process is considered quite simple - it will only be necessary to fit and, if necessary, trim the finished window sill so that it fits perfectly under the frame. According to GOST 30971, the window sill can be placed on the walls at a distance of 5 to 10 cm. Pegs are used to add a level, after which the cavity under the board is sealed with polyurethane foam or mortar. Experts recommend during installation to make a slope of 1-2 degrees towards the room.

When installing the window sill, it is necessary to properly fit it in size.

To decorate the window sill, plastic panels are used, which are attached to the initial profile with a clip. The platband, which winds around the corner, is fixed with self-tapping screws, and covered with a decorative film on top. All that remains is to put on the end caps and seal the seams with a sealant.

Many construction companies interpret the GOST and SNiP standards as they want and can simply ignore them, and there is no need to say again what the wrong installation is fraught with. There are two ways out: either closely follow the installation process and immediately notice violations, or install windows in accordance with GOST on your own.

Until 2003, the installation of pvc windows and balcony blocks was not regulated by the state. The window installers were guided by the technology suggested by the manufacturers of these structures. It is difficult to judge whether it was wrong or not. But the number of complaints about freezing, blowing and leaking frames exceeded the permissible limits. In order to eliminate these problems, at the beginning of March 2003, GOST 3071-2002 was adopted, and it became mandatory to install windows in accordance with GOST.

What is the installation of a pvc window in accordance with GOST

The introduction of a document regulating the installation of window seams and abutments caused, at one time, a lot of disputes and disagreements. The window installation companies were unhappy with the upcoming costs of purchasing additional materials and the increase in labor costs.

The fact is that the state standard approved several standards requiring the use of materials in the installation that were not previously used, or were used reluctantly. This led to an increase in the cost of the work of the performers and, accordingly, the consumer. Which, it was believed, could lead to a decrease in demand for window services.

But the alarms were in vain. Consumers were the first to appreciate the benefits of GOST. This is not surprising, since the document is fully focused on improving the operating conditions of window and balcony blocks. What are these improvements?

  1. Installation of plastic windows in accordance with GOST with steam and waterproofing of gaps. The document gave a definition of an assembly seam with an indication of the materials required for its device. Now the correct seam should consist of three layers: outer, waterproof and vapor-permeable.
  2. Recommended clearance parameters are indicated.
  3. Requirements for surface preparation are determined.
  4. The rules for acceptance have been established.
  5. The maximum permissible distances between the attachment points are indicated. For a plastic profile, this is 70 mm.
  6. A list of actions for testing the quality of structures is given.
  7. The service life of the materials used is indicated: at least 20 years.

Not overlooked and such an important element of the window structure as the ebb. According to GOST, now it is protected from below with a diffusion tape made of polyester. This ensures that the metal sheet is firmly fixed to the wall and box. The presence of a tape on the lower plane of the ebb significantly reduces the noise from rain drops.

Application of standards in practice

Since March 2003, the installers began to work in accordance with the accepted standards. But the consumer, unfamiliar with the intricacies of these works, inevitably has a question: what does it mean to install a window in accordance with GOST? Knowing the answers will help you track the correctness of the installation being performed and make sure of its quality. The first thing to be aware of: all seams of the window block should now consist of three parts.

  1. The central one is made of polyurethane foam with high frost resistance and moisture resistance.
  2. The outer one is made of waterproofing tape.
  3. Internal - made of vapor barrier tape.

The basic principle of installation can be explained as follows: the inner part of the seam must have low thermal conductivity, and the side parts protecting it must be steam-permeable. In this case, if moisture penetrates to the polyurethane foam, it will freely come out in the form of steam and will not harm the insulation layer (polyurethane foam).

Installation benefits

There are several advantages over a conventional professional installation. But they are all so important that it is unwise to ignore them.

  1. If all the standards of the State Standard are observed, freezing and leakage of the seams are excluded. Consequently, and window frames.
  2. The possibility of mold and mildew formation is excluded.
  3. The insulating layer (polyurethane foam) is protected from moisture and will not collapse ahead of time. If installed incorrectly, without protective tapes, yellowing of the foam can be observed. Under the influence of moisture, its structure becomes loose and destruction processes begin. Such foam loses its thermal insulation properties with all the consequences: the windows begin to freeze, leak, and are no longer a reliable barrier to the wind.
  4. The ebb is connected to the wall by the frame more hermetically, which provides an additional thermal insulation effect and increases the service life of the window block.

There is another important advantage of complying with the Gosstandart requirements. If the consumer remains dissatisfied with the quality of installation and orders the service of an independent examination, the company that installed this window, at best, faces re-installation. And the worst is a lot of expenses.

Materials required when installing windows

Among the installers of plastic windows, GOST 3071-2012 received the name "tape". This is due to the fact that in accordance with the requirements of this document, it is necessary to protect the seams with "ribbons" - narrow in width products: vapor barrier, self-expanding and diffusion.

Materials for installing plastic windows in accordance with GOST:

  • PSUL tapes (self-expanding sealing);
  • GPL (vapor barrier), made of butyl rubber or aluminum foil, for internal protection of seams;
  • diffusion polyester for external protection.

PSUL tapes are self-expanding material and are sold in rolls. When installing, it is extremely important to choose the degree of increase in the volume of the tape.... This indicator is always indicated on the packaging. So, for gaps with a width of 10 mm, you need to choose a tape with an expansion range of 30-40 units. The most popular brands of tapes are Profband, PSUL-EUROBAND, Liplent, Robiband.

Polyethylene tape GPL (hydro-vapor barrier) is made on the basis of foamed rubber. On one side there is an adhesive base, in the middle there is a vapor-permeable material, on the other side there is a laminated base and inserts made of metallized material (foil). The purpose of these tapes is to reflect heat back into the room, and to protect the polyurethane foam from moisture. Popular brands: TYTAN Professional, KLEBEBANDER, Germetik-Abris.

Diffusion tapes are placed under the ebb in order to protect the seam from moisture on the outside of the window. These materials are also made from butyl rubber, but they have two glue bases: on each side. Therefore, the protective material is firmly adhered to both the ebb and the opening. Popular brands: HAUSER, Robiband, Ultima, WS.

Installation technology in accordance with GOST

Installation of plastic windows in accordance with GOST 30971-2012, the step-by-step technology of which is proposed, can be performed independently.

Step 1: Use a stiff bristled brush or paintbrush to sweep away dust and debris.

Step 2. The seams between the bricks are leveled with a moisture-resistant filler.

Step 3. Cover the filler with a layer of primer.

Step 4. Open the window block and remove the sash.

Step 5. At the bottom of the frame, remove the support profile.

Step 6. Glue the PSUL at the junction of the frame and the support profile.

Step 7. If installing a balcony block, remove the docking profile from the outside of the frame. At the junction with the opening, the PSUL tape is glued along the entire perimeter. If a window is installed, immediately tape is glued around its perimeter.

Step 8. Take a simple pencil and tape measure. They mark the attachment points on the PVC profile. In accordance with the requirements of the standard, the distance between these points should not exceed 70 cm. The hole should be 150-180 mm from the corner of the frame.

Step 9. Drill holes. The drill diameter should be less than the diameter of the bolt or self-tapping screw.

Step 10. Support blocks are installed on the opening, which will be located under the frame.

Step 11. Insert the frame and fix it with self-tapping screws.

Step 12. From the side of the street, mark the places of attachment of the PSUL.

Step 13. Remove the frame and with a shift of 0.5 cm from the markings, stick the PSUL.

Step 14. Install the starting profile for the slopes on the frame.

Step 15. From the inside, cover the frame with GPL tape.

Step 16. Install the frame, align. Drill holes in the wall for dowels and perform the final fixation.

Step 17. Install the sash.

Step 18. Fill the seam with polyurethane foam.

Step 19. After 15-20 minutes, the HPL tape is leveled along the slopes.

Step 20. Install GPL under the windowsill.

Step 21. Carry out the installation of the window sill.

Step 22. Install a diffusion tape under the ebb.

Step 23. Fix the ebb.

Installing a window according to GOST according to GOST, the instructions for which are given above, is an easy task. If you comply with all the requirements of the State Standard, the window openings will be reliably insulated and sealed.
P.S. And for dessert, I suggest watching a video clip: Window installation in accordance with GOST

Do-it-yourself installation of PVC windows is a simple process that does not require special skills or technological skills. Immediately after the delivery of new windows home, you can start self-installation, spending a little time. But it is necessary not only to carry out the installation - you also need to prepare the workspace, stock up on tools and avoid possible mistakes that lead to negative consequences.

So, you already have ready-made PVC windows at home that you can install. First of all, it is necessary to dismantle the old window frames and prepare the working space for the subsequent installation of new double-glazed windows.

Dismantling is very easy - only a few tools are required. This is a crowbar, a screwdriver, a hammer and a chisel. Dismantling is carried out as follows:

The first stage - we carry out the dismantling of old windows

  1. First of all windows are removed... To do this, you need to use a hammer and chisel (or screwdriver). First, movable windows with frames are removed. To do this, gently pry off with a screwdriver bottom hinge, on which the window is attached, after which it is pushed on top hinge... After that, several intense, but neat blows are applied from the bottom of the frame - in this way it should come out of the hinges. If the movable window was not fixed tightly enough, then a small force is enough for it to be removed from the hinges.
  2. After dismantling the movable windows, it is necessary to remove the window sill. For this, a chisel and a hammer are taken, with the help of which the plaster is chipped in the grooves of the window sill. We put aside the tools and take the crowbar. With its help, the window sill is pushed on from below (in the area between the window sill itself and the concrete slab) and loosened - for convenient dismantling, it is necessary that the window sill “walk” freely. If there is any filler or fixing elements under the windowsill (as a rule, old structures have wooden blocks for support), they are removed. After that, the window sill is gently pushed on from the side of the frame with a crowbar and pushed forward with several sharp movements. As a rule, old window sills are poorly fixed, so there will be no problem removing them.
  3. The entire window frame is dismantled... Around the perimeter of the window, the plaster is hammered with a hammer - its thin layer hides the spacers on which the frame is held. Initially, the wooden spacers are removed from the side. After that, a part of the window frame is pulled out with the help of a crowbar.

As a rule, many builders neglect all the rules for dismantling - a wooden window sill is simply cut into pieces with a grinder, and a concrete one is broken using a perforator. Frames are also cut into pieces, after which they are removed from the opening in separate pieces.

Preparation of a window opening and windows

After dismantling the old window frames, there will be a lot of construction waste. On the surface of the opening there may be remnants of old insulation, plaster and small debris (chips, sawdust, etc.). All this must be removed from the surface of the opening. Ideally, before the installation of new PVC windows, the window opening should be presented either with neat brickwork (if the house is brick), or with a flat and smooth concrete slab (if the house is panel). All irregularities, cracks and chips are covered with plaster and leveled.

Is the window opening ready? Then it is necessary to check the condition of the PVC windows. It is necessary to inspect the unit for deformation, and then check the completeness of all parts. It is imperative to check the availability of the following components:

  • Windowsill;
  • Plugs;
  • Mounting profile;
  • Anchor plates required for fastening the window;
  • Installation instructions (some manufacturers provide it in one set with a glass unit);
  • Accessories (handles, handle caps);
  • Low tide.

After everything has been checked, it is necessary to prepare the tools for installation work.

Tools for the installation of PVC windows

To install PVC windows with your own hands, you will need the following tools:

  • Building level;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Polyurethane foam and a gun for it;
  • Perforator;
  • Primer;
  • Hexagons (it is desirable to have 5-6 pieces in the set);
  • Pencil or marker;
  • Roulette;
  • Paint brush.

As a rule, installers are limited to a smaller set of tools. But, since you need to do the correct installation of the plastic window with your own hands, and these windows must be installed securely, it is recommended to use the list above.

Carrying out measurements of windows

There are two ways to measure - with a quarter and without a quarter. Let's take a closer look at each of these methods.

Taking measurements without a quarter

Installation of PVC windows is carried out in the cleaned and pre-prepared window opening. To order a window, you need to carry out the following calculations:

  • Window height: five centimeters are subtracted from the vertical of the window opening;
  • Window width: horizontally, three centimeters are subtracted from the window opening.

The resulting gaps will subsequently be blown out with polyurethane foam. As a result, the following parameters are obtained: an indent of 1.5 centimeters is made from the sides of the opening and 2.5 centimeters from the upper and lower sides.

After that, the sill and drain are measured. Each value obtained must be increased by at least 6-7 centimeters.

Taking measurements with a quarter

Measurements are carried out as follows: the window opening is measured horizontally at the narrowest point. The resulting value must be increased by three centimeters - thus the required window width is determined. In the vertical direction, the length is measured from the base of the window opening to the upper quarter - this is how the height of the window is determined.

Based on the results of measurements, you should get indicators:

  • Window width and height;
  • Window sill width and height;
  • The width and height of the drain.

Installation of PVC windows in accordance with GOST

In most cases, GOST for the installation of plastic windows is purely advisory in nature. Nevertheless, we recommend adhering to the basic requirements - this is necessary, first of all, for the owner of the house himself.

There are two mounting techniques. Do-it-yourself installation of double-glazed windows can be done with unpacking windows and without unpacking. In the first case, it is necessary to completely disassemble the window - remove the glazing beads, pull out the glass unit, then fix the frame with the anchor bolts in the opening, and then mount the glass units and glazing beads. In the second case, the window is not disassembled, but is fastened using special fasteners, anchor plates, without using through fastening using dowels. The first method is considered more difficult and requires certain work skills. That is why we will consider only the second case, as the most preferable for the majority of ordinary people.

Install windows

Before you start installing windows in accordance with GOST, you need to create your own plan. It can be either a self-developed drawing or an instruction that comes with the manufacturer. Following the plan will help you get the job done error-free and with maximum precision.

The work is carried out as follows:

  • Surface of a pre-prepared window opening primed in order to ensure better adhesion with waterproofing and vapor barrier tapes. You need to apply the primer with a regular paint brush.
  • We remove the packaging from the windows and glue it on the half-perimeter of the frame sealing tape PSUL... This will provide additional protection of the polyurethane foam from the harmful effects of UV rays and precipitation.
  • The window frame is installed in the opening. We will consider this moment in more detail below.
  • We fill the seam with polyurethane foam.
  • The next step is to paste over the frame. internal vapor barrier. For this, a vapor barrier tape is glued to the inside of the frame.

We use the following rules when installing a plastic window:

  1. We put marks on those places of the frame, where the fastening will subsequently take place.
  2. Fasteners are attached to the frames from the sides, while a step of 50 cm is maintained.It should be borne in mind that the maximum indent from the edges should be no more than 15 cm.
  3. Fasteners are attached to the window opening with self-tapping screws - anchor plates.
  4. The window is exposed to plastic mounting wedges at the building level. Any deviation must be avoided.
  5. For additional fixation on the sides, mounting wedges or ordinary wooden blocks are used - they are inserted in the gaps between the fasteners.
  • On the outside of the window, after installing the frame, a diffuse tape is fixed under the ebb.
  • The openings that remain between the window frame and the walls must be blown out with polyurethane foam.

Tip: When fixing the window frame with fasteners, there is no need to tighten all the screws too much. Only after the structure is finally fixed, you can bring the fasteners to the stop.

The window sill comes in one set with metal-plastic windows. The master himself determines what width he should have. Measurements are taken, after which the window sill is carefully trimmed to the desired length. Next, the window sill is installed as follows:

  • A window sill is installed on wooden blocks and is adjustable in height. Adjustment should be carried out with a building level so that the window sill is strictly horizontal in relation to the window opening.
  • After the position is finally established, the window sill is removed, plugs are put on its side parts. An adhesive mixture is laid on wooden blocks, which are the basis for the windowsill (it is recommended to use CM-11 or similar material).
  • The sill is reinstalled on the bars and pressed down a little. With this procedure, it is necessary to use the building level, since the window sill during installation may slightly lead to the side.
  • After the adhesive solution is fixed, the space between the window sill and the window opening is blown out with polyurethane foam.

Installing low tide

It can be installed as a homemade ebb, and the one that comes with a plastic bag. If you purchase a drain, then you need to take into account that it is attached with self-tapping screws to the bottom profile, and the part of the window protruding above it should protect the junction of the profile with the drain. The drain itself is mounted extremely simply: a profile is attached to the window opening, after which the drain is fixed on it with the help of self-tapping screws. For additional protection of the attachment point, blowing foam is carried out.

Sealing PVC windows

Technological features of foaming are written on a cylinder with polyurethane foam. Each master can verify this on his own by reading the detailed instructions indicated on the cylinder. The foam polymerization process is catalyzed at high humidity. That is why, before starting the sealing process, it is necessary to moisten the places with plain water. In the absence of moisture, polymerization will be of insufficient quality.

After the foam has hardened, it must be carefully cut off with a regular clerical knife. Do this carefully so as not to damage the reinforced-plastic windows.

Tip: Do not try to fill the entire cavity of the assembly seam the first time. First, you need to apply a little foam with the help of an assembly gun, wait until it swells, and then reapply the required amount.

Common installation mistakes

Both beginners and craftsmen can make mistakes when installing plastic windows. Generally, the most common are the following:

  • Conducting incorrect measurements or lack thereof;
  • Selection of unsuitable profiles for installation;
  • Installation on an uneven surface, or on a surface that has not been previously cleaned;
  • Installation of PVC windows without a level;
  • Improper window docking. Some people either use too many fasteners or not use them at all. The result is one - the window may deform during operation;
  • Installing a window at insufficient depth... If the window is placed too close to the inner edge of the window opening, a significant drop in temperature around the window is possible, and, as a result, condensation may form;
  • Improper sealing... The assembly seams are either insufficiently blown out by foam, or unevenly. This leads to the fact that after a few years of operation, the window begins to fog up and loses some of its advantages.

In order to avoid common mistakes, it is necessary to carry out the installation exclusively according to the instructions and in compliance with the technological features.

Standard installation

Installation of plastic windows assumes adherence to GOST standards. Home owners do not always prefer to install windows according to all the necessary rules and regulations.

Experts strongly recommend that all residents adhere to these rules, especially those who have office space, shops, and various public institutions at their disposal. Most buyers are sure that the quality and reliability of the entire structure depends on the profile. But apart from this, assembly and, accordingly, installation plays a key role. Sometimes the owners who hire specialists do not think about whether the installation will be done in accordance with GOST. The manufacturer of the profiles always indicates that the assembly should be done in this way, but the installers may not do these rules.

Installation in accordance with GOST is optional. This is more of a recommendation. If the homeowners decide to install windows in accordance with the requirements of the standard, it is necessary to invite qualified employees, preferably from a large construction company. A contract is concluded with this company, which includes a certain point, which indicates that the installation will be carried out exactly in accordance with GOST.

Upon purchase, the seller must select the appropriate profile that will meet the specific conditions. The structure should be checked for optimal air exchange and heat transfer, for the level of sound insulation, dust penetration, etc. As a rule, well-known supplier companies have certificates that window constructions have passed the required inspection. Accordingly, it is better to purchase goods from them.

Basic requirements during installation

It is important to take into account the fact that most problems with plastic windows arise if the installation is done incorrectly. Therefore, if you decide to install plastic windows, you should not save on the installation process. Today in Russia there is GOST 30971-2002. The following rules are indicated for correct installation. First of all, the GOST indicates the types of profiles, as well as examples and various mounting options. During the installation process, it is important to follow certain rules: there should be no cracks, openings. This is necessary for isolation from the cold. In the places where the window is fastened vertically and horizontally, three seams are made: internal, external and middle. Moreover, in order to properly mount the window, it is necessary to take into account the expansion of the plastic when heated.

It must also be remembered that when choosing, one should be guided by sanitary standards and tightness standards. The optimal temperature and humidity level will directly depend on this. In order to find out such standards, it is necessary to consider the requirements of SanPin 21.2.1002-00, where the norms of ventilation and heating in a dwelling are prescribed. If you do not follow these rules, there may be a risk of infection by fungus or mold, this can occur due to excessive moisture levels.

It should be noted that the installation in accordance with GOST is a guarantee of your safety and the favorable functioning of the window structure. In addition, installation according to the required standards ensures a favorable microclimate in the house.

When installing, the joints must be positioned in 3 levels. The first is able to protect the room from the penetration of precipitation and water. The second (inner) level must protect against the penetration of vapors. The third level is done using construction foam. The types of walls are also spelled out in the standards, which must also be taken into account. You need to know all the installation rules. It is convenient to use them both during the purchase and during the installation process. It is worth repeating once again that you should buy only high-quality, certified products. The seller must provide you with documents that spell out all the technical features of the product.

Installation Requirements

The quality certificate must be awarded not only to the company that sells the windows, but also to the one responsible for the installation. It is important that qualified specialists undertake the installation of the structure. The emergence and implementation of the certification system will bring the business to a high level. Today, the buyer makes high demands on the quality of structures and service in general.

Before installation, it is necessary to make all the necessary measurements, comparing them. It is important to know what loads the structure can withstand, the wind load is determined. From this it is concluded whether additional installation of the frame with metal plates is necessary. Some windows may leak air. In this case, the frames are installed to normalize the thermal insulation.

It is important to carefully prepare the room before installation. It is necessary to remove all extraneous things in advance. It is recommended to cover the furniture with a wide cloth or film. Household appliances in the room must be isolated from dust. First, pull out the sash and carefully remove the frame. The opening must be free of unnecessary parts, all slopes are checked using a level.

After the structure is delivered, it is necessary to separate the frame and glass units. The frame is inserted into the opening using special wedges. Then you should mark the frame and determine how it will be located in the opening. After the frame is fixed. For this, anchor bolts and self-tapping screws are used. The glass unit is fixed with glazing beads. In order to make all measurements correctly, you need a laser ruler. It is important that the entire structure is firmly fixed. For this, there are certain rules, for example, the distance between the points of the fasteners should be about 70 cm. The distance to the fasteners from the inner corner should be a maximum of 15 cm.

The structures of the walls are different from each other. The choice of fasteners depends on the characteristics of the wall. Basically, fastenings are made using anchor bolts, anchor plates and self-tapping screws. The most practical way is to use anchor plates. It is important to correctly install the slopes that cover the opening between the profile and the wall. For installation, remove the remnants of the plaster from the old window, level the unevenness with a putty.
