Combined first floor brick second wood. Drafting a combined house

Despite the abundance of modern effective materials, at the moment traditional natural stone and its artificial counterpart do not lose their popularity.

Due to their unsurpassed decorative qualities, they mainly find their use in the design of facades and interiors of buildings... This material of any origin is distinguished by its durability, absolute fire resistance, and undemanding maintenance. Its high aesthetic characteristics, a variety of shades and textures give architects complete creative freedom, allowing them to create unique pompous ensembles and chamber cottages.

The versatility of decorative stone cladding

Artificial products are extremely widely used at the moment in finishing works, despite the fact that in their physical characteristics they are significantly inferior to natural ones. This is due to the simplicity of installation of a decorative analogue, the ease of cladding elements that do not require a powerful base, low price, a huge variety of textures and a wide range of colors.

Application in the organization of the porch of organic forms

According to the composition and production technology, the following types of artificial products are distinguished:

  • concrete cladding is made by vibration compaction of high grade cement mortar. Finishing care - coating with paint and strengthening primer every 2-3 years;
  • polymer sand tile differs in elasticity, low price and relatively low strength;
  • products based on synthetic resins in absolute accuracy repeat the appearance and shades of natural raw materials, the crumb or dust of which is included in the composition;
  • porcelain stoneware due to its production from feldspar, fired at more than 1400 ° C, it has high durability and unique strength;
  • clinker tiles perfectly imitates masonry and brickwork, differing from them in a more democratic cost and low weight. Possesses good qualities of sound and heat insulation, protects against atmospheric influences;
  • flexible cover- sandstone tiles glued with a polymer to a textile backing. Differs in strength, elasticity, antistatic properties, low weight and ease of installation on complex surfaces - columns, cornices, arches.

Free flow of different textured planes on the facade

These materials are perfectly combined with each other in the decoration of the house, creating exquisite exteriors. They can be combined to create planes with clear boundaries or smoothly flowing into each other. For example, the torn edges of the artificial limestone corner cladding merge into the plastered surface. In the same way, they decorate window and door openings, arches.

On a note! At the moment, a popular solution is that stones in the form of chaotic inclusions appear through the plaster.

Plinth finishing with artificial masonry

When using decorative cladding to decorate the lower part of a building, it is extremely important to reinforce the surface of the walls to strengthen their connection with the decoration. Above the plinth, it is necessary to fasten the ebb - it is most susceptible to the negative effects of precipitation. This measure, which is carried out after masonry, before starting to finish the facade, will protect the foundation from moisture ingress.

Advice! To create a harmonious facade, the base / plinth material must be in harmony with the color of the roof. The shade of the finishing elements of the bottom of the house must be chosen somewhat darker than the base to which it will be attached.

Facing the corners of the building

This design of the corners is also called rustication, representing densely spaced rectangles or stripes with pronounced seams between them. They are designed to give the facades sophistication and emphasize the reliability of the structure. If even 100 years ago rustication was carried out at the expense of complex brickwork, today it is created using modern finishing materials, including tiles of artificial origin. This technique is also often used to decorate window and doorways of houses. In recent years, the asymmetric version of rustication and its "ragged" outlines are gaining more and more popularity.

Advice! To achieve the most natural effect of masonry from natural raw materials, it is necessary to choose design elements from different parties, since natural stone cannot be the same in color and shape.

Finishing the facade of the house with stone panels

For the decoration of buildings, various elements can be used according to the principle of installation, colors, textures and dimensions. In addition, facade panels with a coating imitating, for example, natural marble, are divided according to the material of manufacture, of which plastic and PVC are the most popular. Their surfaces can copy a wide variety of rocks: granite, limestone, thin shale.

Due to the peculiarities of production technologies, facing elements have high strength and resistance to adverse environmental influences. Facade panels can serve for additional insulation and sound insulation of the building.

Houses with imitation rock siding

This type of facade finish can have various options for coatings: metal, resins, cement-sand compositions, various polymers. The surface resemblance to natural stone is achieved by adding fine crumbs of malachite, marble and other rocks to the molding mass. Another method is to cover with an artificial product made of a cement-sand mixture, resins and coloring pigments.

On a note! At the moment, the most popular is siding that imitates the surface of a wild stone. High similarity is achieved through the production of products by molding from propylene using templates from natural cobblestones.

Spectacular natural stone houses

The nature of the cladding of buildings with natural rocks depends on the architectural design of the facades. Finishing can be solid or partial, polished or wild slabs. It can be made of stone slabs of the same species or in a combined version. Finishing elements from natural raw materials, correctly selected and laid in compliance with the technology, require minimal maintenance during operation.

Advice! With various methods of laying the slabs, the combined cladding with inserts of decorative fragments looks most impressive.

Advantages of finishing with natural material over artificial counterparts:

  • extremely neat and respectable appearance;
  • maximum service life and extremely high resistance to mechanical damage;
  • the ability to maintain their qualities under the influence of temperature extremes, humidity and sunlight;
  • lack of tendency to deformation and cracking;
  • reliable protection against fire;
  • the uniqueness of natural textures and shades;
  • no need to treat the material against mold and corrosion, which can significantly reduce operating costs.

The breed is resistant to various atmospheric influences, retaining its pristine condition for an extremely long time. Most often it is used for cladding plinths, corners, openings of doors and windows.

Wild breed of natural origin include:

  • torn sandstone, usually stacked in a chaotic manner;
  • boulders - water-treated fragments. They can be of lake, sea, river and glacial origin. The most valuable are boulders 15-35 cm in size;
  • sea pebbles - a remnant of rocks that have a flat and even shape;
  • Meotis (shell butt) has a structure with long fibers and properties similar to those of ceramics.

Important! At the moment, imitation of "wild" stone slabs is also made artificially. Such products have an extremely rich color gamut and a wide range of textures.

Combined houses made of stone and wood

The combination of wood and stone materials is a rational and cost-effective solution:

  • lightening the total weight of structures allows you to abandon the construction of a massive foundation;
  • fire-resistant stone materials for the first floor, where a living room with a fireplace, a furnace, a garage, a bathhouse can be located - the best option;
  • wood is a natural insulation, which makes it possible to save on thermal insulation;
  • the first floor of stone materials not subject to decay increases the durability of the building;
  • reduction of terms from the beginning of construction to settlement - while the process of wood shrinkage is in progress, the first stone floor can already be finished and settled;
  • stone and wooden houses provide great opportunities for the embodiment of architectural ideas.

Structurally and economically, the most viable option is to use stone materials for the lower tier in combined cottages, and build the upper tier of wood. This technologically simplifies the construction process and makes it possible to evenly distribute the load on the foundation.

Advice! For additional weight reduction for the construction of the second floor, it is better to use frame technology rather than a rounded log or timber.

Stone is a versatile material with the highest indicators of strength, durability, and fire resistance. At the same time, it fits perfectly into any architectural style. It is in perfect harmony with all existing materials, from wood to chrome-plated metal.

All projects of beautiful stone houses in the photo have varying degrees of complexity of implementation, so it is advisable to trust these works to professionals - a number of works with stone require special knowledge and qualifications, the use of specific technologies.

Video selection of photos of houses made of natural stone

Probably, in 50 years, the houses shown in the video will be perceived as we today perceive classic-style houses, but today these are modern options that delight the eye with novelty and an unusual approach to the implementation of natural well-known material.

The desire to have their own country house forces many residents of the metropolis to invest fabulous sums in construction. And the more intricate the cottage project is, the more financing of the construction should be. At the same time, the price of a finished house to a large extent depends on the material used for construction. And since stone is mainly used for the installation of houses in Russia, the cottage costs a pretty penny. However, there is a very productive method of saving family money on the construction of their own nest - cozy and durable houses made of stone and wood. So, as a result of the combination of materials, it will be possible to save on the installation of the entire structure.

Types of combined houses

The use of diverse building materials in the construction of houses has been known in history since the 15th century. And the main harmonious combination was the combination of stone and wood. Such a tandem allows you to make a powerful supporting base (or first floor) and mount an already lightweight version of the second floor or attic made of wood above it. The most popular examples of such combinations are:

  • Half-timbered houses... They originate from Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. The construction of such buildings is based on a wooden frame, which is filled with a natural stone block. Or this same timber frame is mounted on a pre-arranged stone lower floor. The house takes on the outlines of reliability, massiveness and fortress.
  • Chalet houses. They are also familiar as hunter's houses. These buildings came to architecture from the mountainous Alps, where shepherds and hunters equipped themselves with shelters in order to hide from the changeable weather of the mountains. Snow or unexpected winds, rains or hot sun - all this could overtake the shepherd in the mountains at any moment. It was as a refuge that strong chalet cottages were erected, based on a strong stone (basement) floor and a wooden attic, sheltered from snow and wind by a sloping roof. Such a house made of wood and stone today has turned into a special style of architectural direction.

Important: the basic rule when combining materials in a building is to install a lighter floor over a heavier one. And even if the house will have three floors, the bearing capacity of building materials should go downward from the bottom up. For example, a concrete basement, then the first floor of blocks or bricks, the third floor is exclusively wooden.

Types of material combinations

The construction of combined buildings is similar to the work of a sculptor. Here it can be interpreted in such a way that the finished cottage turns out to be unlike any of the neighboring ones. Moreover, most often the developer uses the following types of combinations:

  • Monolithic reinforced concrete and rounded logs. Here de can be used coarser chopped round timber of hand processing. Note that a reliable reinforced concrete level acts as a basement semi-basement floor. It is subsequently sheathed outside with clinker tiles or simply plastered. The use of a reinforced concrete monolith in the form of a basement floor is relevant on non-powdery soils with a low level of groundwater.
  • Combination of a brick ground floor with a lighter and more even timber. In this case, either a strip reinforced concrete foundation or a monolithic slab is mounted under the house. Everything depends on the type of soil on the site and the level of groundwater on it. It is worth noting that bricks and beams, which have a perfectly even shape, create an original tandem for installing a house in the style of half-timbered construction.
  • You can also mount a three-story house made of combined materials. Combined houses made of foam blocks and wood on top of a monolithic basement level are relevant here. At the same time, the house will acquire the final appearance thanks to the exterior decoration of the stone floors chosen by the developer. The tree will speak for itself.
  • And there is also a cheaper combination of materials from a bar or log on the first floor and a frame-panel structure on the second. But this technology is used for small cottages and, if desired, significantly save.

Important: in any case of installing a stone first level, the fire safety of the finished house increases several times. Since it is in the basement (lower) level of the house that all auxiliary and utility rooms are located, such as the kitchen, garage, boiler room, workshop, fireplace room, etc.

Advantages of houses made of composite material

The construction of a combined house has a number of advantages over the installation of a homogeneous cottage. Especially if it was originally planned to mount the whole house of stone. So, the main positive aspects of such a construction are:

  • Substantial savings in the construction budget. Moreover, money is saved not only due to the cost of diverse materials - stone and wood. The estimate is melting before our eyes as a result of the fact that houses made of bricks or blocks and beams end up having less mass than a completely stone building. As a result, a lightweight type of foundation can be mounted under such a house. But it is the basis that most often costs about 30-40% of the total construction budget. In addition, it will be possible to save money on the hiring of workers for the installation of the cottage. That is, the payment for the bricklayers will be less than if they were building a completely stone house. And the rental of special equipment for the device of a combined house is cheaper.
  • Wide architectural possibilities. Most often, for the device of combined houses, non-standard projects of combined houses made of brick and wood are used. Here, outlets of the left or right wing of the house may prevail as a territory for a utility room. At the same time, this area of the cottage is also reliably sheltered from precipitation by a sloping roof, like any other part of the house. You can also hide from prying eyes all the utility rooms in the basement, and leave only the cozy and comfortable rooms of the first floor and the attic for the guests to see. Stained glass windows, a mansard balcony under the roof itself or a spacious terrace from the eastern part of the cottage are used as the surroundings of the house.
  • It is also worth noting that you can move into a combined house immediately, but using only the first or basement floor. Since the stone is not subject to natural shrinkage, the interior decoration of the lower level can be carried out immediately after the completion of construction. The upper wooden level should be given time to shrink and only after that internal work should be started.
  • The heat capacity of a combined house will be several times higher than that of a house completely made of stone. After all, the tree perfectly keeps heat, which means that the heating of the first floor is of high quality, you can also ensure the optimal temperature of the second level. Hence, by the way, and savings on the maintenance of the finished house.
  • In addition, the stone lower floor is more resistant to seasonal changes in the ground, which means that a longer service life of the finished cottage will be ensured.
  • In addition, it is the wooden part of the stone-wood combined house that provides optimal microcirculation throughout the room. After all, the tree breathes constantly, regardless of temperature changes outside and inside the building.

However, the combined cottage also has one significant drawback - the difference in the service life of building materials. So, a stone is able to provide a house with a life of 100 years or more. While the upper level of the cottage, made of timber or logs, will require repair in 30-40 years. However, such a nuance can be interpreted as a positive moment - there is a chance to re-plan the attic level to meet the needs of an increased family. That is, both children and grandchildren can be provided with a separate spacious room in a cozy strong house.

The nuances of building a combined structure

In order to competently combine two types of building materials with each other into a single and strong monolithic structure, several basic requirements must be observed:

  • So, you need to combine wood with stone using special steel pins embedded in the masonry. In this case, the stone surface before the installation of wooden crowns must be waterproofed.
  • The tree, in turn, before laying without fail is treated with antiseptics and fire retardants in order to increase its fire safety and resistance to decay.
  • The stone part of the house is finished with plaster or cladding. And the decorative design of the wooden level, if necessary, is performed using lining. Although wood is an independent and harmonious building material.

Features of the design of combined buildings

In order for a house made of aerated concrete (brick, foam concrete or reinforced concrete monolith) to become a real haven for the whole family, several nuances must be taken into account during its construction (at the design stage):

  • So, in the lower part of the cottage, all auxiliary, household and public premises are usually located. If the house has only two levels, then lounges such as a billiard room, fireplace, living room are also arranged here. At the same level, but at a distance from the "noisy" rooms, you can arrange a study. If the house is supposed to have a basement level, then it is here that all the household rooms are arranged. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a dining room, a fireplace and an office. And already in the attic, they design all the rooms for sleeping. The nursery can also be located here.
  • An excellent solution is offered by such house projects, where on the ground floor they arrange a room for a family business. It can be a workshop or atelier, a small shop or an office. Autumn is convenient to work with your family, without leaving your home and without spending time on the road to your workplace.

Advice: but in this case it is worth making sure that all household members have a separate entrance to the house, hidden from prying eyes. Better if it is a courtyard hidden by a fence. Such a combined house project is a great option for a large family.

What could be better than natural building material? This question can be considered rhetorical. When you think about natural, wood immediately comes to mind. It has unique qualities that cannot be replicated in a laboratory. But don't forget about natural stone. Its strength and resistance to various influences is amazing. Natural stone is an excellent solution for building a foundation. Why not combine them in one building? How this can be done will be discussed in the article.

What is the advantage

The model of combined houses, where the main materials are wood and stone, is not new. Initially, this solution was used in the Alpine mountains. And this is true, because all the building material was at hand. The stones were used to build the foundation. The first floor could also be laid out of it, which was used as a storage room for various utensils. Due to heavy snowfalls, the first floor was often covered with snow, but thanks to the stone, there was no destructive effect on the structure. On the second floor in the house there were rooms of the inhabitants. The wood perfectly retained heat, so even strong winds were not scary. Guided by this information, it is easy to highlight the positive aspects of combined buildings:

  • high strength;
  • durability;
  • good thermal insulation;
  • resistance to various weather conditions;
  • availability of material.

When choosing a combined option, it is also important to know about the disadvantages of such a structure:

  • high project cost;
  • a certain complexity of construction;
  • the need for high-quality insulation;
  • the need for insulation of the basement floor.

It should be said that in modern construction, instead of natural stone in combined options, various types of blocks can be used, and natural stone serves as a cladding for them. The cost of such a combined structure is much higher when compared with a frame house, but in terms of strength it surpasses this. The construction of a combined building requires a special and careful approach to details, only in this case it will be possible to combine wood and stone in the best way. It should be not only practical, but also attractive. The building block needs insulation. If this is not done, then significant heat loss will occur through it. The timber must be waterproofed from the building blocks. If it is absent, the support beams can rot, which will lead to destruction.

How not to build

The wrong way to combine different building materials can significantly shorten their lifespan. For example, in some cases, the developer offers to perform partial or complete cladding of a brick building using wooden lining. From an aesthetic point of view, this is an interesting solution, but from a practical point of view, you will have to take into account many points and process the wood in a special way so that it does not undergo putrefactive processes. There have been cases where a sufficient gap was not provided between the brickwork and the timber cladding. Due to the different expansion coefficients, cracks and deformations appeared in the wood.

Cladding a timber structure is also not always a good idea. If the building is assembled from a rounded beam, then there is no need for such a cladding. It is important to be careful about frame houses. Partial cladding is allowed, since it can add flavor to the project, but it is simply impossible to perform full cladding with stone. It has a significant weight, for which the walls, as well as the foundation, are not designed.

Historical background

The best way to erect a combined building will allow an understanding of what they were originally. Particular attention was paid to the roof. In a combined house, it was necessarily pitched and flat. The angle of inclination was small to reduce windage and wind load. The rafter system was massive, and additional stones were placed on top of the flooring, which held it in place. In the original houses, called chalets, the roofs had a large overhang of the roof. In some cases, it reached three meters. This was done to achieve two goals:

  • protect the wooden part of the house;
  • collect more snow.

The large overhang of the combined house perfectly protected its wooden part from the effects of precipitation. With constant contact with moisture and water, the wood loses its shape and may dry out. In addition, in rainy weather, it was possible to do certain things under such slopes. In summer, a wide overhang protected the residents from the scorching sun. The large overhang also increases the area of the roof itself. The larger it is, the more snow can be retained on it. Snow serves as a natural insulator that reduces heat loss through the roof. The attic floor in combined chalets has always been residential.

Note! This approach can also be used in modern construction of combined houses where climatic conditions allow. For example, a terrace can be arranged under a wide overhang.

The roof decking in the classic version of the combined house was wooden tiles. It was made from aspen, cedar, larch or oak wood. The elements were fixed to the rafter system with wooden nails. Such a flooring for a combined house could easily be made by yourself. The plus was the ease of repair, as well as excellent sound insulation. From modern materials, soft bituminous shingles will be an excellent replacement. It can be matched with the general structure, which will allow you not to break the harmony.

One of the notable features of the house, which is made in a combination of materials, is the wide balcony. From above, it was covered with a visor and was a continuation of the second floor. Wooden piles served as a support for it. A similar approach can be applied to modern combined homes. A good solution would also be the use of French windows, which will erase the line between the room's room and nature.

Finished projects

An interesting completed project of a combined house made of stone and wood can be seen in the photo above. The combined house is based on natural stone, not a modern block. This approach made it possible to perfectly fit the house into the landscape. A natural hill was chosen as the construction site for the combined house, therefore a garage was implemented below, the entrance to which is also lined with natural stone. Stone is also present in fragmentary finishes, which made it possible to erase the border between stone and wood. The roof is tiled and the overhangs are made with sufficient overhang.

The photo above shows another interesting project of a combined cottage house. This version of the combined structure will look great outside the city. The lower part of the building is fragmentarily finished with stone, and the upper part is assembled from timber. There is a large terrace in front of the entrance, and on the second floor there is a balcony, which is closed from precipitation by the overhangs of the roof. The combined building is based on a strip foundation, and the terrace is installed on a columnar one. This allows you to reduce costs and not lose strength.

Above is another version of the combined house. Its peculiarity is that it already looks like a chalet, but like a Russian hut. The wooden part of the combined house is made of rounded timber. This has achieved excellent thermal insulation in the combined building. For the windows of the combined house, plastic profile frames are used, which have lamination. The foundation of the house is tape recessed and the outside is finished with stone. Soft tiles are in perfect harmony with the materials.

The combined building shown in the photo above is presented in a modern minimalist design. Its upper part was built in a frame way, which made it possible to reduce the load on the first floor.

This project is an example of a combination in facade decoration. The combined building is built of timber. Roof slopes have a small slope and wide overhangs. The corner of the house and the basement are finished with natural stone. There is not much of it, so it does not put much pressure on the walls. On the first and second floor of the combined building, French windows are installed, which occupy the entire height of the wall.

This combined house project is a great example of how two different building materials can be beautifully combined. As you can see, the combined house was built using frame technology. Its first floor is finished with natural stone. The pillars that support part of the combined building are also covered with natural stone. Above is a large terrace where you can sunbathe.

In this project, everything is thought out to the smallest detail and perfectly combined. There is a recreation area under the upper terrace of the combined house, which is perfectly protected from precipitation. The area near the first floor of the combined house is filled with concrete, it does not protrude above the ground level, which makes it possible to exclude abrupt transitions. Natural stone is not only present on the lower level, but also visible on the chimney and part of the second floor. The roof finish is very similar to that used in the classic chalet. A video about the combined house project is below.

The abundance of high-tech building materials and a variety of design solutions allow you to create combined houses of stone and wood, the projects of which combine the environmental friendliness of natural solid wood and the strength of bricks. Combined houses at the current stage of market development are one of the options for the quick construction of a modern country house on a limited budget. Visual and functional characteristics are not inferior to more expensive projects.

History of combined houses

The first mentions of the use of combined materials in the construction of houses date back to the 15th century, when houses made of stone and wood first appeared in the northern and mountainous regions.

The European tradition in the construction of combined houses is half-timbered dwellings, which were built in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

A distinctive feature of such buildings is the construction of a massive wooden frame, which is then filled with natural stone.

The combination of a solid stone foundation (or basement) and bright elements made of natural wood not only looks aesthetically pleasing, but also allows you to create a durable home that can withstand harsh weather conditions. In medieval Austria and Germany, half-timbered houses were often used for city buildings.

Chalet is a variant of combined houses, common in the mountainous suburbs of Europe. It is believed that the Alps became the birthplace of the chalet, and the first houses of this style were built by shepherds. In the period of the XVI-XVII centuries, solid and spacious buildings, easily accommodating several generations of families, were created of stone and wood, the external decoration was made of limestone. Unlike half-timbered houses, the roof of the chalet was rather low and sloping, thanks to which the interior was reliably protected from bad weather. The upper floors of the house were built from massive pine beams, which darkened over time, giving the appearance of the dwelling an even more majestic look.

The modern construction of combined houses made of timber and brick, with all the variety of technologies, has not undergone significant changes. At the heart of the foundation and basement are still stone structures, the frame is also made of durable wooden beams, and the external finish often imitates traditional plaster.

Features of the combination of materials in the construction of combined houses

Modern combined houses are made of various modifications of stone or concrete on the first floor, and wood on the second.

Traditionally, the basement is made of natural or artificial stone, foam or gas blocks, monolithic reinforced concrete structures, bricks and even a frame-panel structure. The last option belongs to the category of economy class, and has a reduced strength, due to which the construction of buildings above 3 floors is unacceptable. The first floor of combined houses of the middle price category is used to accommodate utility rooms: a kitchen, a boiler room, a garage. If the owners are planning the construction of a fireplace, then it is also recommended to place it on the ground floor.

Living rooms are traditionally located on the second and third floors, made of natural wood. Popular materials for fire-prevention and anti-corrosion treatment of wood preserve the pleasant appearance and functionality of the material. Therefore, finishing work is most often limited to covering the walls with transparent varnish, as well as installing additional decorative elements.

A more aesthetic and expensive option is a combination of a smooth timber and a brick basement, located on a strip or slab foundation. The large weight of the final structure implies serious investments in the device of the slab or strip construction of the foundation. Such houses are suitable for construction on heaving soils, and when creating a slab base, the dwelling will withstand construction near water bodies.

A budget option for building a combined house is a combination of foam blocks and natural wood. Such materials presuppose a thorough finishing of the first floor, taking into account the additional waterproofing required for the use of the blocks.
Projects of such combined houses are most in demand in the modern market due to their affordable price and durability.

Design and construction of combined houses

A distinctive feature of such projects is the combination of solid stone walls on the ground floor and an attic made of lighter materials. Therefore, although a full-fledged foundation is needed here, the loads on it will be lower than during the construction of a two-story stone house. Considering that the foundation is almost a third of the budget, the savings can be tangible. In addition, wood often does not require additional finishing, so facing materials for the second floor may not be needed.

The combined technology significantly reduces the time for the shrinkage of the finished dwelling: it is recommended to "shrink" a completely wooden house up to 2 years in order to avoid deformation of the finishing materials. It is possible to move into houses with a stone base after the completion of construction work, having finished only the first floor for living.

Additional savings in the construction of combined houses are low costs for thermal insulation. Unlike a brick house, a combined one requires less insulation materials. Unlike a completely wooden dwelling, a house that combines both materials does not require careful treatment with moisture-repellent compounds.

As a result, in addition to an affordable price and a pleasant appearance, the owner of a combined house receives a building that is optimal from a technological point of view, in which materials are used "in their place". Moisture-sensitive wood is removed from the ground, and uncomfortable for living (without proper finishing) refractory stone is used for the construction of "technical" rooms.

The visual characteristics of the finished building are an additional "bonus" when choosing a combined house. Natural wood looks solid and aesthetically pleasing, and the plaster base gives the whole building a respectable look. Modern finishing materials make it possible to decorate the front part both in the same style and preserving the "unity of opposites" in the combination of stone and wood.

Advantages and disadvantages of combined house technology

The main advantage of choosing a combined house made of stone and wood is its durability, resistance to external influences. Thanks to the stone first floor, the building is less damaged by moisture, and the wooden superstructure retains heat better.

The aesthetic qualities of the finished building will delight lovers of stylized buildings, extensive panoramic windows and simply original architectural solutions.

The total cost of such housing is often lower than the cost of building a simple wooden or stone house due to the most efficient use of materials, which reduces the cost of processing them.

A separate floor, built of stone, allows you to separate utility rooms from residential ones. Thus, the house is divided into a common and a private area, which increases the comfort of living.

The main feature of the construction of such houses, often attributed to disadvantages, is the need for precise adherence to construction technologies. For example, for a combination of wood and stone, it is necessary to mount strong steel rods in the masonry and provide a high level of waterproofing.
It should also be borne in mind that chalet houses can be built according to both budget and VIP projects. In the latter case, the first floor will be massive and for its construction specialized equipment and highly qualified teams of builders will be required. The upper bar of the cost of such a house will be limited only by the imagination and capabilities of the customer.

Budget options for combined houses

There are two options to save money using the technology of building combined houses.

Reducing the area of the final building will reduce the cost of building and finishing materials. For example, the weight of the house itself will be small, so no complex foundation is required. Miniature houses do not need a powerful heating system, careful preparation of the site and the design of a large-scale base.

A more risky option is to save on building materials. It is highly recommended to consult with experts, architects, designers, before choosing a more affordable housing project. In general, the choice of cheaper materials for the first floor of the house will help reduce construction costs: for example, gas blocks or frame structures will save owners a lot of money.

Construction stages and prices of turnkey combined houses

Turnkey home ordering consists of several main stages.

The initial stage is drawing up a design project for the future housing, taking into account all the wishes of the client. As a rule, ready-made projects are used, adapted to the requirements of a particular customer.

The agreed project is transferred to the work of the construction team. First of all, the foundation is being built for the future house, taking into account all the characteristics of the soil. Common options are strip and slab foundations, suitable for most soils.

Walls made of bricks, blocks or stone are erected on the finished foundation, forming the basement of the building. At the end of this stage, ceilings are installed, on which the floor of the second floor will be laid.

The walls of living quarters, which are traditionally located above a stone plinth, are erected from rounded logs or glued beams. In this case, it is necessary to install metal pins so that the wood tightly and reliably adheres to the stone base.

After completing the construction of the walls, they proceed to the installation of the roof, as well as the supply of the house with insulating materials. The final stage of the actual construction work is the installation of the roof of the roof.

The finished building is equipped with engineering communications, as well as external and internal finishing work.

Before ordering the construction of a turnkey house, you need to choose a reliable company that can not only quickly, but also perform work with high quality in compliance with all the technological features of the construction.

Conclusion

Combined houses are an original and durable option for creating a suburban home. Non-trivial appearance, optimal use of wood and stone in terms of technology, as well as low cost contribute to the widespread use of this technology of execution.

The original projects of combined houses are gaining more and more fans every day. And this is natural. The combination of various materials makes it possible to furnish in an individual style. The practice of such construction shows that the use of this technology significantly reduces.

The original project of the combined house

The main feature that distinguishes the combined country house from others is that the first floor is made of more durable materials, and the next floors are made of lighter materials. So, for example, for the foundation of a building they successfully use:

  • blocks of various composition, including foam concrete, aerated concrete, wood concrete, porotherm and others;
  • house made of natural stone.

For the construction of the top of the building, as a rule, they use:

Another direction in the construction of combined-type houses is the use of alternative finishing of a building completely built of a homogeneous material, with decorative details. It can be either separate elements or a combined facade. In some cases, the use literally masks the original building material used in the installation.

The advantages of combining materials

The construction of combined houses, based on the principle of combining different materials, has obvious benefits.

The origins of combined buildings

The combination of materials in the construction of residential buildings has been used for more than one century, both in European countries and in Russia. Traditionally, this construction method is believed to be based on the chalet style that has come to modern times from the Alpine mountains.

The massive stone foundation of the residential buildings in those places was due to the need, since the house on the mountainside had to withstand snow and torrential torrents.

At the same time, the living quarters, built of wood, were protected from the weather by wide canopies, and they are considered the main difference. In Russia and wood were also popular mainly among merchants and artisans.

The project of a combined cottage made of stone and timber

As a rule, the first floors were adapted for benches and workshops, and the wooden second floor was arranged for living. Despite the high cost of construction, this method of erecting buildings was justified, since the wooden floor removed from the ground was protected from flooding and fire, and, therefore, had a longer service life.

In modern design, chalet-style combined houses are distinguished not only by a stone base and wide roof canopies, but also.

Respectable houses made of brick and wood

There are many people who want to bring to life the project of their own combined house made of brick and wood. Brickwork has traditionally been considered an indicator of the wealth and respectability of the owner.

The finished project of a respectable brick and wood house

In the combined construction of houses and cottages, both silicate and ceramic bricks are successfully used for the construction of the first floor of a combined house. The superstructure of the brick base of the house can be made of any kind of wood.

A combined house made of bricks and glued beams is considered a classic option, since it has an attractive appearance, is easy to install and does not shrink, and also has high thermal insulation properties.

An alternative option, of course, is also lined with decorative wood panels, for example, a block house.

The project of a combined house made of wood and brick

It should be noted that making a superstructure made of wood significantly reduces the cost of construction, since the price of wooden components on the second floor is significantly lower than an additional brick for customization. However, the technology for constructing such houses allows the construction of the entire building from the main material, and only the facade of the house is decorated with wooden parts.

In some cases, a combined finish is used, when additional wooden elements, such as, are installed together with the decoration of the facade.

Economical house projects from foam blocks and wood

For economical developers, house projects using block materials will be especially interesting. Due to their affordable prices and due to their simple construction, combined houses made of foam blocks and wood are very popular. And also as a material for the construction of the first floor, blocks of other cellular concrete compositions are successfully used, in particular, which has characteristics similar to foam concrete.

A house built of blocks and wood has all the advantages of combined buildings, but there are also additional advantages:

When carrying out work on the installation of the second floor on a block base, it must be borne in mind that pouring a concrete reinforcing belt is a prerequisite for reliable fastening of wooden structures. The frame, consisting of a timber structure, or the timber itself, is already connected to the armature belt with steel anchors. The wooden floor can be made of any type of wood, but the most budget solution would be a wooden frame with good insulation and decorative paneling.
