In the early 90s, as soon as the first pizzerias began to appear, this snack was incredibly popular. It takes literally a few minutes to prepare, and in the end you will get a very satisfying and tasty bun with delicious filling, very similar in taste to pizza. Pizza bun is a great idea for breakfast, lunch or dinner; you can also prepare it and take it with you to a picnic, to the country house, or for a walk. Moreover, this is just a cool idea to recycle stale buns, since stale ones turn out just as tasty.

To prepare pizza buns, prepare the ingredients according to the list. Any round buns will do.

Cut off the tops of the buns and scrape out the crumbs.

Mix sour cream with ketchup - this will be the sauce; brush the inside of the buns with the sauce.

It so happened that I worked part-time in the summer in Germany, with the owner of a small butcher shop. They have a rule: before selling any piece of sausage, the seller must make a fresh cut. As a result, up to 2 kg of a wide variety of slices of sausage and similar products are collected per day.

To ensure that such a quantity of food does not go to waste, my owners came up with the following trick. They made amazingly tasty little pizza buns from leftover sausages, which were in incredible demand. Many Germans came to the store early in the morning specifically to eat such a bun, drink a cup of coffee and chat with their neighbors. I offer you my homemade version of this pizza.

Sausages – 200 gr.
Tomato – 2 pcs.
Fresh cucumber – 2 pcs.
Marinated champignons – 1 jar
Cheese – 200 gr.
Mayonnaise or cheese sauce - to taste.

We collect any leftover meat and sausage products in the house (boiled sausage, raw smoked sausage, cervelat, brisket, etc.)

We take any buns you like. You can take hamburger buns, which you can easily find in any supermarket.

Cut the sausage into very small cubes.

You can add whatever you want to this pizza. We made it with pineapples, bell peppers, and pickled cucumbers. Everything is delicious. But now, given that it’s summer, I took fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. We chop them as finely as possible. It is optimal to cut into cubes the same size as the sausage. Then the pizza will look neat and aesthetically pleasing.

Add pickled champignons, which should also be finely chopped.

Mix everything thoroughly in one large bowl.

Add 200 grams of finely grated cheese.

Mix the whole mass again and add mayonnaise or cheese sauce to it. This is how it should turn out in the end.

This is the filling for our pizza.
Now take the buns and cut them in half. And then we either knead the dough deeper or remove the middle of the bun a little.

We fill the vacated space with our pre-prepared filling, which can be placed in a heap, crushed a little with a spoon.

You've probably already preheated the oven. Now put the buns in an oven heated to a temperature of 170-200 0 C for 5-10 minutes. As soon as the buns have browned and acquired a golden hue, the pizza can be pulled out.

The mixture can be stored well in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. This allows you to quickly prepare a delicious hearty breakfast or surprise guests with a hearty quick dish. You can put completely different products into the filling. If you like greens, then finely chop dill, basil, parsley and add to the mixture. You don’t have to mix the grated cheese with the filling mixture itself, but simply put it on top of the pizza. In any case, you will always receive delicious and beautiful food, which you won’t be ashamed to put on the table during the holiday. This dish does not require large material and physical costs. This pizza will also save you money on school or work lunches more than once.

To prepare the dough, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes. Combine the dough, egg, salt, warm water, vegetable oil in a deep bowl, mix well. Then add the sifted flour and knead a tender and soft dough, cover it with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.

  7. Boil a large pot of water, add baking soda and 2 tablespoons of sugar (the water will bubble vigorously).
  8. Place the buns (4 at a time) into boiling water, leave for 30 seconds and use a slotted spoon to catch them, placing them on a baking sheet.
  9. Brush each with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  10. Bake at 175 degrees until golden brown crust.
