Modern materials for wall decoration in the hallway. Decorating the hallway with MDF panels: types of panels and installation

Repair is always a troublesome business, and even more so interior decoration. A person is greeted by clothes, and an apartment by a hallway. After all, this is the first room of our house, so you need to be careful about its arrangement.

Often in a family, when deciding to start a repair, the question of choosing a finishing material is very acute. Wallpaper, plaster with decor or other types of coatings require considerable costs, not only material, but also physical, since the surface under them must be carefully prepared - remove the old coating, remove dents, cracks or resort to wall putty.

All these troubles will not only increase the final price, but also add dust and dirt to our already not perfectly clean life. Therefore, many residents opt for wall panels. You don't have to level the walls or even remove the previous coating. Behind such panels, you can very advantageously hide all kinds of communications, and sometimes add insulation, which also has a soundproof function.

Advantages of wall products

Hallway panels are a great idea for interior renovation. The prevalence of low cost in combination with the elegance and practicality of panel materials give undeniable advantages in choosing this product.

Their main advantages:

  • Easy to install. In order to save money, you can decorate the entire room without outside help and specially trained personnel.
  • There is no need to smooth out irregularities, remove old wallpaper.
  • No special tools are needed either. All you need is bars, nails, panels. And if you do not build a crate, then only glue.
  • Wall panels are easy to clean by simply wiping with a damp cloth.
  • If a small area of the coating is damaged, you can easily replace it with a new one.
  • The huge choice of material from which the panels for the walls are made will not leave you indifferent to the chosen method of decoration. Color, texture, additional accessories and many other "tricks" will delight buyers.
  • And finally, this material is not only practical and environmentally friendly, but also just looks beautiful in the hallway.

Another advantage of the panels is the fastening methods:

  • Directly to the wall using special glue or decorative nails (bolts). But for this you need to prepare the wall - align, prime.
  • Using a construction stapler, fastening to a wooden lathing is carried out.
  • On an iron or wooden frame with self-tapping screws.
  • On a plastic crate with clamps for mounting.

Varieties

The building materials market in today's market is so diversified that "eyes run wide." It can be difficult to choose something suitable, but you can still. You should definitely pay attention to the decorative panels. They come in several varieties:

  • Rack type. Panels in the form of long planks up to 30 cm wide, up to 370 cm long, up to 1.2 cm thick. Installation can be carried out both horizontally and vertically. The addition of built-in LED lamps will only decorate the decoration of the front door and add light to the room.
  • Tiled type. These are square or rectangular panels. Fixation is carried out using a tongue-and-groove locking connection. Pattern and texture can be very different. Suitable for drawing up a colorful and unique panel for your interior.
  • Sheet type. Such panels, as a rule, are large in size, unlike the previous ones. Reach 1.2 x 2.4 m with a thickness of 0.3 cm. The size minimizes the number of seams.

Materials (edit)

The wall panels of the hallway should not only fit into the interior, but also meet the necessary properties (illumination, humidity, air temperature) of the room. Outwardly, they are also chosen taking into account the characteristic features of the hallway, so that the result of the decoration pleases the owners, and not vice versa.

There is an opinion that wall decoration with panels is a sign of minimalism and cheap repair, but this is a misconception. The market offers us a huge number of colors and materials for their production:

  • Plastic. PVC panels are considered a relatively inexpensive finishing material. But they are easy to clean, not subject to water, and also have a variety of decor - from imitation wood to tiles.
  • MDF. These are compressed wood chip boards. They are considerably lighter than wood. This material is a good sound insulator, and if you buy MDF panels with a special impregnation, they will not be afraid of moisture. They can be textured or even more beautiful thanks to the milling on the front side.
  • Wooden. This material is environmentally friendly, always gives the interior solidity, but at the same time requires a balance with other parts of the decoration. The panels are made multi-layer and are highly resistant to heat, humidity, mechanical stress, ultraviolet light. You can often find wood of walnut, oak, birch and other valuable species. There are models with threads, interspersed with other materials.

Color options

Whether your wall panels will be purple or light green with a black star, wood or stone look - it depends on you and your choice. Only your invention can tell you or the household, who will most likely be against the black walls with hearts. You can always agree and find a common color scheme that everyone will like. Of course, color greatly influences the appearance of a room. Everyone knows that in small or narrow rooms it is advantageous to use the light colors of the panels, then immediately from the threshold the hallway will seem a little larger.

It is customary to use more restrained colors in the corridor, but bright and saturated colors are becoming more and more popular. You can often find panels with drawings that can be made according to your sketch. Pictures are applied using modern printing technologies using full-color digital printing.

In city apartments of the old layout, there is usually very little space left for a corridor or hallway, but private houses, which most often give an opportunity to show imagination in their open spaces, are another matter. It becomes possible to decorate the walls with panels with voluminous moldings, cornices or stucco moldings, thus obtaining an excellent interior in the classicism style.

Embossed wall panels (also called 3D panels) will help you recreate an interesting design with an accent on the wall. Such surfaces do not need additional decoration in the form of paintings or mirrors; they are already an object of close attention in themselves. Those who prefer originality and rigor at the same time with a minimum amount of jewelry will like this option. Imitation of masonry or brick walls, wooden slabs or ceramic tiles, mosaics or frescoes - all these modifications are limited only by your financial capabilities.

You need to clearly understand all the criteria for wall covering before you go shopping. Do not forget about practicality. It can be very difficult to remove stickers that children have placed in the interior without asking, traces of glue or paints. And wall panels will just help you forget about such minor troubles.

What is the best wall sheathing?

No one can answer this question clearly, only the owners of the dwelling themselves. And of course, the choice depends on the general concept of the interior, your financial capabilities, the characteristics of the hallway.

The main advantages of MDF in the decoration of the hallway are:

  • Simple installation that does not require excessive time investment.
  • Small amount of debris during installation.
  • Depending on the class, there are several options for wall mounting.
  • There is no need to use special tools to cut the panels, a hacksaw or jigsaw is enough.

  • A part of the panel that has become unusable can always be replaced with a new one.
  • Sound and heat insulation.
  • Decent quality, durability, resistance to external influences, as well as decorative effect.
  • In addition, the smooth and even surface can be laminated and painted well.
  • And last but not least quality is an acceptable price-quality ratio.

But you can't do without flaws. These are a change in appearance with a high degree of humidity and the impossibility of using abrasive substances when cleaning. However, the hallway is not a room where daily cleaning with abrasive detergents is required.

The use of PVC panels has no less positive qualities, including:

  • Harmlessness. It is known that nothing is perfect, but plastic can be considered close to ideal in this sense. Thanks to modern technologies and components, we can confidently assert that modern panels are harmless to humans, they do not emit any smell or chemical compounds, in addition, they are practically non-combustible.
  • Ease of installation. You don't have to look for specialists to install the panels.
  • Tightness, which consists in the smallest distance between the panels, in which the hated dirt will not accumulate.
  • Leaving will not burden any hostess.
  • Longevity, which will still depend on the lifestyle and tidiness of the household.
  • In case of damage to the finish, you can always update it with a certain decor, stickers, stickers.

Wood cladding is rightfully considered one of the high-quality and rather popular types of finishes, albeit expensive. Wood has been and will always be popular with homeowners.

All this thanks to the following characteristics:

  • In the case of timely and regular maintenance, such panels will delight you for a long time with their quality and appearance. There is also a specialized impregnation (antibacterial, antifungal, water-repellent) or varnishing of wood, which reduces all risks of damage to the material.
  • Separately, it is necessary to add about the periodic updating of this type of finish - with the help of special tools, you can emphasize the texture of the wood or even change the color.

A significant disadvantage of wood panels is the increased cost.

Most often, homeowners make repairs to the hallway last, but this approach is erroneous. The entrance hall is visible from all the rooms of the apartment, and the neighbors can accidentally contemplate it from the landing, for example.

Today in many houses you can see that the hallway is decorated with MDF panels - and the result looks more than worthy. There are a lot of MDF boards on the building materials market today, you can easily find even those that naturally imitate wood or tile. This material is also economical and very practical; it does not need any special care.

Fiberboard and their characteristic properties

What is a hallway in an apartment? This room is something like a business card. And the decoration of the walls is generally very important - after all, thanks to such cladding, you can radically transform the entire style direction. Thanks to the texture, color of a specific finishing material, the very visual image appears, on the basis of which a person draws a conclusion at the expense of your hallway, its design.

That is why it is so important to think carefully about the design of the walls. This detail is important.

What are the advantages of panels, why are they popular in the decoration of the hallway?

  • First of all, installation work is easy. Anyone can cope with such a task - there would be a desire. Also, during the work there will be a minimum of dirt, dust and debris: which cannot be said about other cladding options.
Fixing MDF panels to the wall can be done in different ways. Due to this, you will always be able to choose the solution that will be the most acceptable for your home.
  • Another advantage of the panels that you should pay attention to: the strips are very easy to saw - a jigsaw or a hacksaw will help with this. And if it is necessary to replace one or another part that is damaged: there will be no difficulties with disconnecting - the elements leave the base easily, immediately;
  • There are other advantages too: the sound insulation in the room will be good, as will the thermal insulation. There will simply be free space between the walls and the slabs. They put insulation here, and you can hide any communications without any problems.

Materials required for the installation of MDF

Any master, even a beginner, understands perfectly well: decorating a hallway with MDF panels is not the most difficult task. However, even here preparation is needed - for the result to be of high quality.

In what sequence is everything done?

  • To begin with, you need to purchase the finishing material itself along with the necessary accessories and components;
  • The number of panels required for operation is determined. It is important to consider here not the amount of space that needs to be closed - but its width - this is important.
In the case when individual panels on the wall touch each other, you must also buy. That is, you cannot do without additional costs (time will also have to be spent).
  • The right decision is to clad the wall with panels that are intact. The width of the MDF panel (we are talking about typical indicators) is 15 cm. However, there are panels, the width of which is 19 and 24 cm;
  • Do this: the width of the wall is divided by the width of the MDF panel that you are going to use. As a result, it will become clear how many specific finishing panels you need.
  • When purchasing material, make a certain stock: no one is immune from mistakes, defects. There will be clippings too - this is quite normal.

Varieties of MDF panels

MDF panels differ in types - it all depends on how exactly the front part of the finishing material is finished. For example, the most popular are laminated panels - during the production process, a PVC film is applied to them.

Advantages of laminated MDF panels

  • This material is dust-repellent;
  • It is resistant against mechanical damage (and the level of resistance is high);
  • Veneered panels are finished with high-quality wood veneer - at the request of the customer, you can add any shade;
  • If the panel is painted, then high quality compositions were chosen for its coloring, the stability of which is beyond doubt.
If you need to cut these panels, it is best to use a jigsaw. The cut will come out clear, completely even, without any burrs.

Fastening panels - stages

Novice craftsmen may experience different difficulties when attaching panels to the walls in the hallway. To some, this process may even seem difficult. To minimize the problem, you must be aware of what sequence should be followed in the stages of work.

The procedure here will be something like this:

  • First you need to measure the room where the repair is supposed to be carried out;
  • You must calculate how many sheets will be required for repair;
  • Finishing corners also need to be calculated - they are needed to form a corner. At any angle, the joints can be both external and internal;
  • It is customary to treat those areas with special compositions of disinfecting action where fungus or mold may appear in the future - this happens often.
Now it's worth starting to form the frame - the boards will be attached to it. Wooden slats are usually used here (size is chosen 4 by 2 cm).
  • The slats are fixed on the wall - plastic filler will help you with this, self-tapping screws, dowel-nails are also often used;
  • The panels for the walls in the hallway have already been selected, so when the crate is made, the master must make sure that the structure is even. The building level will always help you with this. The sheets are attached to a wooden base using thin, small nails. Staples will work too - they are called clamps.

Materials required for installation work

And now we will consider those materials and elements, without which it will not be possible to complete installation work..

  • You cannot do without finishing corners (they consist of two strips), there is a gap of 2 mm between them. The product is usually coated with a film of the same shade as the MDF panels themselves. This film is used to hold two strips together;
  • The corner easily bends both outward and inward - and all this thanks to this design. Especially, these devices are convenient to use when your hallway is far from the most ideal corners;
  • You will need wooden slats to prepare the frame for the cladding. Ideal - when the width of the rail is 4 cm, and its thickness is 2 cm.
Reiki with a large section is not advised to pick up - the panels are light in themselves. Also, you can always find wooden slats without problems in any hardware store.
  • To fix these strips on the wall surface, you need self-tapping screws that are suitable for working with wood (80 mm length is sufficient)). Plastic dowels can also be used
  • It is also better to stock up on kleimers - with the help of these elements, MDF panels can be easily attached to the frame. You will be able to find kleimers in the same department where the panels themselves are located (sometimes they even come in one set - but this does not happen in all cases);
  • Liquid nails are a great solution for gluing corners. Buy this glue if you don't already have one;
  • In general, special attention should be paid to the glue. It is not necessary to use any random composition here - you need a substance that has certain characteristics.

Namely, what should be the glue:

  1. The adhesive must retain its plasticity even after curing. It's just that MDF panels are usually made of pressed cardboard, so they are very susceptible to temperature and humidity in the room. An adhesive is needed that can easily cope with such temperature changes. This property is usually described on the packaging in great detail.
  2. Further, the glue that is chosen for MDF panels should help in their installation even where the walls are not perfectly flat. Simply put, the adhesive must be textured so that it can be applied in a thick or thin layer to the surface without problems. Thick glue is what you need
  3. All these requirements are ideally matched by the liquid nails already mentioned above, which today are often chosen for such work - when the hallway is decorated with MDF panels.
If you decide that MDF panels are ideal for facing the hallway, pay attention to the following: this finishing material is not among the moisture-resistant ones. So if your room has a high humidity level, the panels will absorb moisture over time and may deform. For such a room, it is better to choose another finishing material, fortunately, the choice is rich today.

Technology for applying MDF panels to the wall

If you have a concrete, wooden or brick surface in your room, it is not at all necessary to clean off the previous coating from it (if it is wallpaper, paint, plaster). Moreover, it is not even necessary to plaster or putty the walls in the hallway before proceeding with the fixing of MDF panels.

This particular point is an important advantage of wood fiber products. However, you still have to remove the old skirting boards: you can't do without it.

  • The master must find the place on the wall that sticks out the most. It is from here that the installation begins;
  • Since the crate will be located horizontally over the entire area, and its maximum step will be 400 mm, it is customary for MDF plates to be placed vertically;
  • In the case when the permissible value is exceeded by the step distance, a curvature of the picture may occur - you must not forget about it;
  • In a situation where strips are being mounted from the corner, it is recommended to ensure that the last part is set in one piece;
  • It is better to check all the calculations in advance once again - attach the purchased panels to the wall and see for yourself: where the material will go without problems entirely, and where you cannot do without building up the rack base;
  • The hallway is trimmed with panels so that the spike of the panel is located in the corner, the installation of which is being carried out. Experienced craftsmen advise to cut it off from the very first element;
  • Then, a glue holder is installed in the groove - five to six pieces are placed along the entire length;
  • Each glue holder is attached to a wooden beam - a screwdriver will help you here.
For drywall, it is customary to fix the opposite end with self-tapping screws. However, before fixing with self-tapping screws, it is worth making a hole in the bar - a drill designed for metal work will help with this. Ideal diameter: 8-10 mm. In this case, the hat will definitely not be in sight.

  • It is customary to fasten the next bar so that it goes into the groove of the previous one with a spike - then each subsequent panel is assembled in the same way. At the joints there will be all joints, the edges on the side and on top are fixed by means of corners - they are attached with liquid nails;
  • Sometimes it is customary to lay the boards diagonally, and in certain cases horizontally. It is imperative that the wood base is perpendicular to the new coating;
  • If there are deep depressions, cracks or pits, you can always lay bars or wedges in them;
  • It is customary to hide the joints from below behind a simple plinth - it can be fixed with nails or glued to a sealant;
  • The joint is formed with a corner under the ceiling;
  • On the wall, the bottom rail is fixed at a certain height from the level of your floor - so that in the future it can be used to attach the skirting board. As a rule, this rail is placed directly on the floor - and it works.

Watch a detailed video about how, when decorating the hallway with MDF panels, the panels are attached to the wall surface:

Possible mounting options

Let's talk about what options for attaching MDF panels to the surface exist today. If there are no serious errors on your concrete surface, it is absolutely clean and even, there is a layer of plaster (which is still strong), putty (which does not peel off), then you can glue the panels directly onto the sealant-adhesive.

This work is done like this:

  • The glue is spread in dots or zigzags all over the board;
  • Then it is pressed to the surface for a few seconds;
  • Then they take it away from the wall for a moment - and then apply it again: this time it is forever;
  • All excess adhesive must be removed with a spatula or knife.

A frame made of metal will also be an excellent basis for such work. For this purpose, UD profiles and hangers are often used.

This technology will be preferred if you plan to:

  • To make a bookmark of insulation;
  • You want to hide many different structures that have volume;
  • If the concrete or brick base has serious deviations;
  • In such a situation, you can even abandon metal rails in favor of beams. This design will be more stable, stronger;
  • If somewhere you need to put an electrical outlet or a switch - an electric drill is used to make a hole of the required diameter;
  • The mounting box (socket) is selected in the same way as when working with drywall sheets.

Insulation laying - process features

Usually, when finishing in the hallway is done, it is important to use additional insulation in the process. For this role are perfect: "penofol A", polyethylene foam. Such materials are good in that they not only perfectly retain heat, but also isolate noise.

When the installation of the metal frame is completed, penofol is glued to the surface. You need to glue this material on the side where there is no foil. The sealant is distributed in thin strips over the polyethylene foam - it is important that there is a step of 10-15 cm between the strips. It is glued end-to-end - the edges of the layers must be connected.

Now you definitely have an idea of how MDF panels are used to decorate the hallway. You can not even hesitate about this option - it will suit you perfectly.

If the MDF is of high quality - they are characterized by the following advantages:

  1. Certain moisture resistance (not suitable for bathrooms, of course);
  2. Strength and decorativeness;
  3. Installation work is simple;
  4. The material is durable.

Another very important characteristic of MDF panels is that they are very easy to machine (milling, grinding, fastening, drilling, gluing). All these works can be done using the same materials and tools that are used for wood.

If you have the necessary tools at hand, you will be able to cut out any patterns in the panel, it is also possible to decorate with a decorative cut-out: today many do this.

The decoration was quite successful - MDF looks great on the walls in the hallway

Since MDF is a completely flat material, the panels can be laminated and painted without any problems. Maintenance of the surface is easy - you just need to wipe it from time to time with a slightly damp cloth (and make sure that there are no abrasive substances in the cleaning agent). The cost of MDF panels is also an undoubted advantage of this material.

If the film is slightly exfoliated on top of the panel, you need to go over it with sandpaper (choose a fine-grained one). The problem will definitely be fixed.

Such materials, which cost in moderation, are beneficial to use for wall cladding - in a variety of hallways, corridors. If it turns out that some panel is damaged - it can always be replaced with a new one - there will be no difficulties.

A good host can try himself as an experimenter: you can, for example, combine a variety of materials with each other. For example, on top you place wallpaper of some light shade, on the bottom - panels imitating wood. You will definitely get something interesting - there is no doubt about it. The main thing here is to believe in yourself!

The first impression of guests from your apartment begins to take shape when they get to know the hallway. So the choice of materials for this room is no less important than for others. An entrance hall is a room that does not require special materials. The main criterion: surfaces must withstand frequent wet cleaning. We pull dirt from the street, which can negatively affect some materials. Wall decoration in the corridor in most cases involves the use of wallpaper, but this is not the only option. What can be used to cover the walls?

We have prepared 60 hallway design options for you.

The walls in the hallway can be exposed to various influences: dirt, water, drafts. If you have children or pets, then the corridor can suffer mercilessly from fun games and tenacious claws.

Therefore, you need to select materials that are durable, not afraid of external influences.

  1. Painting;
  2. Decorative plaster;
  3. Cork covering;
  4. MDF panels;
  5. Fake diamond;
  6. Parquet;
  7. Laminate;
  8. The liquid wallpaper.

Painting

The paint is simple to work with and easy to care for. The only condition is that it must be waterproof, otherwise it cannot be washed frequently. The paint belongs to the budget types of finishes. However, don't buy the cheapest option. Cheap types cannot be washed, they will wear off quickly.
One of its disadvantages is surface preparation. The walls must be perfectly flat, otherwise it will not fit well. You will have to spend money on a primer, putty and plaster. In addition, you will need to remove the old coating completely. But having aligned the walls, there is no need to do this again later.
Especially popular now are water-based paints. They are absolutely safe for health, and therefore do not have a smell, since there are no toxic substances in the composition. Water-based paint dries quickly, which simplifies the process.

Decorative plaster

Decorating the walls in the hallway with decorative plaster is used less often, but is gaining popularity. Plastering will turn the corridor into an elegant and noble room. There is a wide range of textures and patterns to choose from.
The plaster is durable. She will serve for more than a dozen years. Moreover, it is a durable material that is not subject to weak mechanical stress. The surface is easy to maintain: just wipe it down with a dry cloth or vacuum.
Decorative plaster is made on the basis of only natural ingredients, so it is absolutely safe for the environment. One of the drawbacks is the complexity of the job. Some types of plasters can be applied independently, and some will require a call to the master, because you yourself will not be able to make a high-quality installation.

Cork covering

This type of finish is made from cork oak. This is a natural material, which means it is safe for humans. The cork surface does not need to be carefully maintained. From time to time, the walls can be simply vacuumed. The material is not conducive to the spread of mold.
The strength of the material leaves no doubt. Your walls will not be afraid of blows, pets. Cork does not absorb heat and is sound insulating. Will serve you at least 15 years. Such a coating is not afraid of a small amount of moisture and is suitable for a corridor.
The biggest drawback is the price. Natural materials are much more expensive than artificial ones. Corks are afraid of small particles such as sand that can scratch the surface. They cannot be removed with brushes.

MDF panels

MDF panels are considered safe materials. They are made from sawdust, which is subsequently pressed. At the same time, they are not expensive. It is easy to work with them, the whole fastening process can be done independently. They will last for many years, providing a durable coating.
Before selling the panels, they must be treated with a composition that is not afraid of moisture. No mold or corrosion under the panels. Walls can be cleaned with a damp cloth. MDF panels repel dust, preventing it from accumulating, they can be installed even if there are allergy sufferers in the house. They will save heat, which is important for the corridor.
Despite the fact that the panels are treated with special compounds, they will not withstand a large amount of moisture. They can be damaged by a very strong blow. Supports combustion.

Fake diamond

The stone is made from decorative concrete based on various binders. It is more often used in the decoration of private houses, but now it has begun to appear in apartments as well. It costs much less than natural stone.
Laying an artificial stone on your own is not difficult.
It is attached to glue; no specific tool is required during the installation process.
A rich selection of colors and patterns will not leave anyone indifferent. You can choose the imitation of any stone. The coating will last much longer than other cladding materials. Despite the fact that the stone is artificial, it is absolutely safe.
It is made only from natural ingredients. The stone will last a long time, but it does not compare with the lifespan of natural stone. The material is not afraid of changes in temperature and humidity, but nevertheless, it is inferior in characteristics to natural ones.

Parquet

We are more accustomed to seeing parquet on the floor, but it is also used for wall decoration. Parquet can also be installed on uneven surfaces. Preliminary work for finishing is kept to a minimum. During operation, construction debris is practically not generated. All work can be done with your own hands, which allows you not to spend money on calling specialists.
However, the parquet is installed on a special frame. Its production will require the purchase of additional materials, and will increase the operating time. Although you can install it yourself, it is still a laborious process. The frame will take centimeters away from your room, so it is not recommended to install it in narrow corridors. Parquet flooring enhances the acoustics of the room, although this is not a problem for the corridor.

Laminate

Laminate, like parquet, is more often used for flooring, but still, it is also suitable for walls. The material is safe for humans and the environment, because it is made only from environmentally friendly materials, without the presence of toxic substances.
Laminate flooring is antistatic - dust does not accumulate on it, so it does not have to be cleaned often.

Laminate is laid on the floor, which means that it is durable and durable.

You can choose a pattern for any interior, the laminate is rich in choice.
Laminate flooring swells from frequent splashing of water on it. Therefore, it must be wiped off quickly. He is also afraid of temperature changes. It is quite suitable for a corridor, but the clothing area and the place for the umbrella should be protected from direct contact with the surface of the walls.

The liquid wallpaper

Although the material is called wallpaper, it looks more like plaster. They are classified as breathable materials, which means that condensation will not accumulate on the wall and fungus or mold will not form.
Liquid wallpaper can be reused. With the help of water, you simply remove them from the wall and leave them to dry. The dry mix can be reused. The installation process is straightforward, no extensive preliminary work is required. The mixture is suitable for finishing a cold room. She is not afraid of dirt or drafts.
In the process of drawing, you yourself form the pattern. Therefore, it is possible to create a unique design. It is difficult to damage the coating, but even if this happened, it will not be difficult to repair a separate area.

The biggest disadvantage is that liquid wallpaper is afraid of water. They'll just - just come off the wall. Therefore, they are covered with an additional layer of varnish.

Tile

Ceramic tiles are reminiscent of Soviet times. But this is no longer a disadvantage. Modern tiles are significantly different in appearance from their predecessors. Tile - hard surface. She is not afraid of burnout, mechanical stress.
The only thing that can be done to her is to hit her hard, then there is the possibility of damaging her. But replacing a separate area will not be difficult. Ceramic tiles are absolutely safe. It is easy to wash and any stains can be wiped off its surface. She is not afraid of water, temperature changes.
One of the drawbacks is that it does not retain heat. The tile remains cold even in a warm room. Not the worst thing for wall cladding. It also enhances room acoustics.

It is no secret to anyone that the overall impression of the room depends to a greater extent on the decoration of the wall surfaces, and the hallway is no exception.

It is important to correctly complete the general decoration of the walls in the hallway, since the individuality and peculiarity of the space largely depends on this.

Necessary materials for the hallway

When comparing all rooms in an apartment, the entrance hall takes a special leading place.

On the basis of this, the types of materials for decorating the walls in the hallway are determined, which will endow it with some reliability, help, if necessary, modify it and increase the duration of its operation.

As for the revision, this is especially true in those houses where children or pets live, since damage or possible pollution is carried out on their part.

It is for this reason that it is better to select materials that can be cleaned without much difficulty (it is better to acquire shades that are less light) and, if necessary, restore.

Lack of space is considered an equally important problem, and this is typical even of large-sized apartments. As a result, the space is usually littered and resembles a warehouse for storing a wide variety of items of all sizes.

The strength of the materials is necessary to avoid the occurrence of various chips or scratches, which can be characteristic of a decorative wall in the hallway.

Currently, there is a huge amount of a wide variety of materials for wall decoration in the hallway, differing in strength and high quality. However, the choice must be based on meeting a number of requirements and criteria.

The main advantages of finishing materials

Each material has its own positive and negative characteristics. Let's consider the main ones in more detail:

Wall panels. It has several variable varieties. The MDF panel, shown in the photo of the walls in the hallway, is environmentally friendly and has a wide classic color gamut.

Plastic ones are also considered similar, which do not differ in any way according to the main criteria.

Differs in the convenience of fastening and is not capable of causing difficulties. It should be noted that they do not require preliminary preparation of the walls. The increased service life is considered a huge positive quality - on average, up to 15 years.

The main disadvantages include a rather narrow range of colors and ornaments when choosing the most appropriate color for the walls in the hallway.

It is important to note. That such an option is considered relatively budgetary and economical.
