Picnic table DIY drawings. Folding picnic table do it yourself

In the warm season, both children and adults want to stay longer in the fresh air. Picnic in nature is not just sports and outdoor games, swimming in ponds and other pleasures. Bite too need. Today we will discuss how to make a folding picnic table with your own hands. The problem is that there are not so many well-equipped recreation areas. Therefore, if you do not want to spend money to acquire a new table, you will have to get down to business.

Types of designs

There are 2 types of tables for hiking:

  • Suitcase table. He looks like a folding chessboard. The legs are inside the suitcase. If you need to expand the table, legs attached to the tabletop.
  • Table with folding legs. The design is extremely simple: in the folded state, the legs are removed under the tabletop. If necessary - they move apart, and the design is fully ready.

Important! Each option has strengths and weaknesses. For example, it is easier to make folding picnic furniture with your own hands; it is also easier to operate such products at times. At the same time, the “suitcase” is more compact, more convenient during transportation. In addition, there is a place for campware, skewers and other accessories needed for a picnic.

Materials

What material to choose for self-manufacturing designs? In principle, there are 3 options:

  • Metal.
  • Wood.
  • Plastic.

Home wizards argue that the easiest way to work with wood. If there is no skill in plumbing, the metal is better not to take. At the same time, one should not forget to treat the wood with a special varnish so that it does not deform, lose its attractive appearance and do not warp in the sun or in the rain.

Plastic can be used to make both legs and tabletops. But not everyone can work with plastic. But the plastic product is literally forever: neither ultraviolet radiation, nor corrosion are not afraid of it.

Folding picnic table

Consider the easiest to make a picnic table with your own hands - wooden.

Set of tools

These tools are in the arsenal of any home master, not even too experienced:

  • Electric jigsaw. If not, you can use a hacksaw or a circular saw.
  • Electric drill for drilling holes in which screws are screwed.
  • Hammer.
  • Phillips screwdriver.
  • Building level.
  • For marking - a pencil, a square, a ruler.

Important! The cutting tools listed are electric jigsaw or circular saw, these are tools that are associated with increased danger. Therefore, compliance with safety regulations is mandatory.

Materials

For the table top you will need wood planks with a thickness of 2-4 cm.

Important! You can use not the board, and a sheet of MDF or chipboard, about a centimeter thickness.

Also required:

  • Screws.
  • Furniture bolts.
  • Under the bolts - wing type nuts.
  • 2 door handles for carrying the product.
  • Hooks.

To start, cut out of plywood, chipboard or boards countertop of the desired size. The following procedure is as follows.

Making a table frame:

  1. Lay on the countertop boards designed for the frame. The distance from the frame to the edge of the table top is 20-30 mm.
  2. Using a jigsaw, cut the boards to the desired size, first checking whether the markings match the drawing.
  3. Outline the contours of the frame with a pencil and make holes for screwing in the screws.

Intermediate bars:

Cut the blocks-supports on which the legs of the table will rest in the unfolded state, drill 4 holes for the screws in them.

Important! To avoid pushing the legs when unfolding, place a substrate of wood between the frame and stop bars.

Assembling the table top and frame:

  1. Gather together all the elements, do not forget to fix the wooden backing and supports.
  2. The table top and frame are combined into one design with the help of screws.

Table legs

Transfer the appropriate drawing to the boards, then cut the legs. In the place of attachment with the frame, the legs are rounded, at the bottom they are cut at an angle of 15-20 degrees. Drill holes for bolts.

Construction assembly

  1. Connect the first 2 legs with the crossbar and fix the bolt and wing nut on the frame.
  2. Do the same with the second pair of legs.
  3. Check the table in action, do not cling to each other legs when folding. Otherwise - treat them with sandpaper in the place of friction.

The table is ready! Now it remains to fasten the handle-carrying and attach hooks for towels or barbecue equipment.

Suitcase Table

Compared to the folding design, the materials will need a bit more:

  • For the countertop - sheet chipboard or MDF (can be replaced with ordinary boards).
  • Wooden beam. It is useful for assembling the box and table legs.
  • Hinges
  • Latches.
  • Handle (suitcase or door).
  • Screws.
  • Bolts with wing nuts.

The procedure for making furniture is as follows:

  1. From MDF or chipboard, cut out 2 halves of the table top. It will be folding.
  2. Saw off from a bar cuts by the sizes of a frame, according to the drawing. Attach them to the halves of the tabletop on all sides. Two halves - two frames.
  3. Fasten the two halves together using loops.
  4. Cut off from a bar 4 equal pieces that will serve as table legs. Make holes for bolts in them. Indent while doing so that the legs and frame are freely connected to each other.
  5. Connect the legs to the frame using bolts and nuts.
  6. Attach a handle to the frame to carry the table.
  7. Equip the finished product with two latches so that the “suitcase” does not open when carried.

Folding picnic table with your hands ready!

Important! Before you start, make a drawing in different projections, calculate all the dimensions, make an exact calculation of the consumption of materials. So you can avoid mistakes.

Who among us does not like to go fishing, picnics, barbecues or just relax on the nature with family or friends.

However, in addition to fishing rods, food, barbecue and tents, at least some camping furniture is needed - it is inconvenient to cook and sit on bare ground.

And the main subject necessary for a picnic in the country is a folding table.

Now it can be purchased at any tourist or fishing store, but why spend money if you can make a folding table yourself. Let's find out how to do it and what is needed for that.

Design features

If you do not go into details, you can distinguish two types of camping tables - a table with folding legs and a table-suitcase.

In the first version, when transporting or carrying, the legs are removed under the tabletop. Upon arrival, simply enough to push the legs of the table to put it.

In the second version, the tabletop is a kind of suitcase or chessboard - in the stowed position the legs lie inside it, but in place they should be taken out of the “suitcase”, connected to it and put the table in the right place.

Both species have their advantages. Folding table easier to make, and to install it takes just a few seconds.  At the same time, the suitcase table is more convenient to carry, it takes up less space, and, in addition, you can put dishes, skewers and other necessary things during transportation.

Wood, plastic or metal?

What material is best suited to make the most folding table for hiking?

If simplicity of creation is most important for you and you do not have a large set of tools or skills in working with plastics and metals, choose a tree.

Lumber, boards, chipboard, plywood - all this can be used to create a fairly simple folding table.

But a table made of wood, if you do not protect its surface with varnishes and special coatings, under the influence of dampness, sunlight and temperature changes will warp and lose its attractive appearance.

Plastic and even metal can be used as material for legs and tabletops. But here you may need those tools that are not available in every home. Moreover, working with such materials is more difficult than with the same tree. But the plastic tables are not subject to corrosion, and those that are made of metal are very strong and durable.

  In order to make a folding or folding table, you need a set of fairly simple tools that can be found in any home or garage:

  • Jigsaw (can be replaced with a circular saw or a hacksaw);
  • Electric drill for the preparation of holes for screws;
  • Hammer and Phillips screwdriver;
  • Roulette, square, ruler, pencil and level.

Attention!  Remember that cutting tools, such as a circular saw or jigsaw, are sources of increased danger! Follow all necessary safety measures when working.

Folding picnic table

  For making simple and strong enough, you need the very minimum of materials and fasteners:

  • wood boards, 20–40 mm thick. For countertops, instead of boards, you can use a chipboard or plywood sheet, about 10 millimeters thick;
  • self-tapping screws, furniture bolts, and for each pair of legs the bolts should be of different lengths, wing nuts for bolts;
  • door handles for carrying the table and hooks.

For a start, cut a tabletop of the desired size from boards or chipboard. If the tabletop is made up of several boards - put them together, put and measure the length and width.

Stages of work

Step 1. Making the frame
  Lay the boards for the frame on the tabletop, on each side of the frame should retreat 2-3 centimeters from the edge of the tabletop. Using an electric jigsaw, cut the boards to the desired dimensions, then re-lay them on the tabletop, check that the length and width of the frame match the drawing. Outline the contours of the frame - make holes for screws in the table top.

Important! In order to precisely withstand the dimensions of paired parts, join the boards together with clamps and cut them with an electric jigsaw or a hacksaw together.

Step 2. Intermediate bars
  Cut out the blocks-stops on which the spread legs of the table will rest, make four holes for screws in them. In order to prevent the table legs from colliding with each other, make wooden substrates for the second pair of legs, which will be located between the frame and the stop blocks.

Step 3. Assemble the frame and tabletop
  Assemble the frame elements together, fasten the block-stops and wooden substrates, make four holes for the bolts with an electric drill. Using screws, fasten the table top and frame.

Step 4. Table legs
  Scrape and saw the table legs with an electric jigsaw. In the upper part, where they are fixed with the frame, the legs should be rounded, but in the lower part there should be a cut at a slight angle (15–20 degrees). Make bolt holes.

Step 5. Build the table
  Connect the first pair of legs with the crossbar and fasten it to the frame with a bolt and wing nut. Repeat the same with the second pair. Check if the legs are clinging to each other when folding and folding the table.  If they get stuck, treat the feet at the friction site with sandpaper.

Folding table is ready. Additionally, you can fasten on it a handle for easy carrying and hooks to hang towels or barbecue and barbecue accessories.

Suitcase table

  To make a travel suitcase table, you will need more materials and fasteners:

  • plywood sheet or chipboard for the cover. In the case of their absence, you can use boards;
  • wooden beam for legs and box countertops;
  • hinges, door handle or suitcase, two latches;
  • furniture bolts and wing nuts;
  • self-tapping screws.

Stages of work

Step 1.  Take sheets of chipboard, cut out half the table top. Then saw off the necessary length of the frame bars, connect them with the halves of the tabletop with screws from all sides. Fasten the halves of the tabletop together with the help of loops.

Step 2.  Cut the four beams, which will be the legs of our table, make holes for bolts in them and in the frame, while indenting them so that the legs of the table are freely connected to the frame.

Step 3.  Connect the legs and frame with furniture bolts and wing nuts.

Step 4.  Attach the carrying handle to the frame. Do not forget to make two latches ,   so that the suitcase does not open during transportation.

Note! Before you begin to work, make a drawing of your table in several projections, calculate the dimensions of all the details and how much material you need. So you will save yourself from mistakes, and you will not need to redo all the work again.

We protect the camp table

  Unprotected wood is aging fast enough: dampness, temperature changes that are inevitable in nature, sunlight and many other factors have a bad effect on the material and reduce the durability of the folding table.

Therefore, do not forget to process all its surfaces, especially the tabletop, which is most susceptible to harmful influences.

For use special antiseptic compounds, stain.

Finishing with lacquer or paint will improve the appearance of plywood or chipboard and make the marching table more beautiful.

How to make another version of a lightweight folding table, see the video:

Folding table - very convenient and indispensable in many cases. Most apartments in our country have a small area, and many do not even dream of arranging a large dining table in the kitchen. To solve this problem, there is a wide selection of folding table designs. And when organizing a picnic in nature, it is optimal to take along a small aluminum folding table, which is lightweight and compactly folded.

  Variety of folding table designs

The sizes differ depending on their functionality, but in any case the folding part must be shorter than the height, otherwise it will not be able to fold. A handmade table can be decorated with decoupage or simply painted, without forgetting to apply several layers of lacquer at the final stage.

Folding tables are used in commerce, at picnics, at cottages and in apartments. They are indispensable when you need functional, but compact and lightweight tables. Depending on the place of their use, a suitable material is selected. So, for the street it is best to take an aluminum construction with a plastic tabletop. This table is moisture resistant and has a small weight. For the house fit natural wood, plywood or laminated fiberboard on a wooden frame. But all folding tables have one drawback, they can not get up. Such a load for a folding structure is too big.

First of all, they differ in the form of table tops - rectangular, round, oval or square. The most versatile tables with a rectangular tabletop.

The legs are made of wood, aluminum and steel. Parallel legs make the structure less rigid, but it is comfortable to sit at such a table. A cross located, though less convenient, but provide maximum stability. In addition, there are removable and adjustable in length legs, they are especially convenient for uneven surfaces. Therefore, choosing a table should be guided not only by its appearance and size of the table top, but also by the design features of the frame.

Beautifully look tables made of wood or laminated fiberboard with parallel legs. But they can be used only in enclosed spaces and provided that they do not have to be laid out often.

An inexpensive table made of varnished plywood is perfect for going on nature. It is moisture resistant and will last for many years. To quickly and easily fold the legs must be located crosswise.

How to make a folding table for different occasions will be discussed in this article.

  Folding picnic table with your own hands

Recreation in nature is becoming more and more popular. It helps to relax and rest from the city rush. But even far from civilization, I want to make my pastime as comfortable as possible. An important attribute is a folding camping table, which has a number of advantages. Firstly, it has a small size and light weight, which greatly simplifies its transportation. Finished tables have a special coating tops that do not absorb food odors and are easy to clean. Secondly, it is made of reliable material, most often aluminum, and can be operated in the most severe conditions for many years. Conveniently, if in its center there is a hole for an awning, then the rest under the hot sun will be as comfortable as possible. Today there is a large selection of folding tables for the campaign: children, sets with benches or simple tables. They combine time-tested materials and modern, such as plastic.

Consider how to make a folding table with your own hands on the example of a simple and very reliable design.

It will be compact and lightweight, which will allow to use it for different purposes: in a hike, in a garden or on fishing. The following is a drawing of a folding table. If necessary, dimensions can be proportionally changed.

First, the required number of bars is cut out with a small margin in size. The easiest way to do this is on the circular saw.

The table top can be made of any material, but it is better to make lacquered plywood or wood (in the future it should be carefully covered with several layers of varnish).

All sawing blanks are closed edgeband. Bars for legs and foot supports are rounded with a jigsaw or a right angle is cut off and smoothed with a grinder.

They are attached to each other with a bolt, the length of which should not exceed 35 mm.

Having prepared all the details you can proceed to the pre-assembly. First of all, legs and supports are fastened together. After that, markings are applied to the worktop (it will be mounted on wood screws). Having numbered all the details, the table is disassembled, all irregularities are polished, and several layers of protective composition are applied. That's it, it's ready for final assembly.

  Universal folding table do it yourself

For home use, the “table-book” mechanism is most convenient. It has a beautiful and noble appearance, is stable and reliable, and most importantly - a large number of people will fit behind it.

Consider how to create such a table with their own hands.

A - worktop 700x670x20 mm - 2 pcs. Optimal use of hollow shields.

B - table cover 700x200x20 mm - 1 pc. The material used is carpentry slabs (of which are also made legs, side bar and base plate).

B - leg 720x190x20 mm - 2 pcs.

G - tsar 628x120x20 mm - 1 pc.

D - basement 628x190x20 mm - 1 pc.

E - horizontal frame bar 500x40x25 - 4 pcs.

W - vertical timber frame 500x40x25 - 2 pcs.

H - movable leg 720-40-25 - 2 pcs. Made from solid wood.

And - piano loop - 4 pcs.

The table is assembled in stages:

  • all cuts are edged;
  • first, the central part is fastened — the movable leg (G) with the vertical (L) and horizontal (E) bars. All parts are joined by blind straight spikes;
  • then the tabletop consists of the leg (B), the hollow (D) and the sub-base (D).
  • the lid (B) is attached to the ends of the table legs by means of round inserts;
  • a movable leg with a frame is attached to the piano hinges, having previously attached a gum or a metal button to its end;
  • after the table is fully assembled, if necessary, it is varnished.

As you can see, all the complexity lies only in the manufacture of parts, the assembly itself will take a little time. As a result, the price of a handmade table will be much lower than the market one.

  Table tourist folding: features of choice

High-quality furniture for a picnic will allow you to enjoy outdoor recreation in comfort. Depending on the needs, there is a wide variety of both individual folding tables, and whole sets of consisting and tables and benches, which are compactly folded.

The price of a folding picnic table depends on the materials from which it is made, its size, design and, of course, dimensions. Today there is a wide variety of folding designs, which makes the choice more difficult. In any case, choosing it is necessary to build on the functionality - a small folding table, designed for 1-2 people, or a large - for the whole company.

The durable steel frame and aluminum worktop can withstand even greater loads. It is desirable that he had a protective cover.

For a small company, a very light small table is best suited. If it will be used on the street, then you need to choose aluminum or plastic countertops.

Regardless whether it is a small table, which is intended to be transported manually, or a large table, it is important that the design is lightweight. In the first case, there should be a convenient carrying handle, and when choosing the second option, also take into account its dimensions when folded - it should easily fit in the trunk of the car.

All the materials from which the tables are made, have their advantages and disadvantages. So, aluminum, though light, but short-lived, steel is reliable and durable, but with time it begins to rust, wood will require additional maintenance.

Choosing the mechanism of the folding table design, one should be guided by the main rule - the simpler the better. Such a table, although it will be less compact, will last for many years.

The tabletop is chosen according to your taste and preferences. The easiest and most convenient to care for -

plastic or aluminum. Appearance is also important, but the choice should not be dominant.

Folding table photo

The warm season attracts both children and adults to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Ideally, from morning to evening, the weekend is devoted to walking and sports games, but we must not forget that restoring energy with snacks is also necessary. Zones equipped with tables and chairs for those who wish, are not so often conveniently located outside the city limits, where there is calmer, the air is cleaner, and the place is quite secluded for your own company to rest.

Outdoor solution

In search of places specially equipped for active pastime, people are often limited to the specific requirements of camping. A light portable furniture allows you to solve the problem of choosing a place and diversify your vacation by visiting new areas for relaxation.

Different models of portable folding furniture for tourism and camping provide excellent outdoor recreation for one person, as well as for the whole friendly company. Tents, chairs, tables make real comfort possible near the river or on the sea coast, in the forest or in the mountains. Many will argue: unity with nature is all the more complete the closer to it are the guests who come from the city bustle. Nevertheless, society strives to leave the tradition of “savages” of youth to rest, and to make their own leisure time in nature more cultural and peaceful.

Benefits of folding tables

Recreation, planned in nature, may involve many "surprises", including in the form of thunderstorms or rain. A very good device for accommodating a company of friends or family, ensuring that vacationers can take free poses, it’s convenient to use the table space for arranged dishes (plates, glasses, especially disposable plastic ones) is a folding picnic table. And in the case of bad weather, lunch in the open air will not have to be carried out while sitting on wet grass or cold ground. Conveniently located relative to each other in height, chairs and a table will allow holidaymakers to sit in comfortable postures and make their weekends full. A folding picnic table will also be appreciated by older people or companies in which girls prefer to dress neatly even for a walk in nature.

Requirements for camping furniture

Using the folded furniture, camping furniture is very comfortable to transport, because it does not take up much space in the trunk. A folding picnic table with chairs is one of the main devices, which, being laid out, forms a frame complex of a tabletop and benches or chairs. The main requirements for tourist furniture are:

  • compactness
  • ease,
  • strength.

Materials for a folding table with chairs

Among the materials for folding tables, fabric is in the lead (polyester must necessarily be included in the fabric, since it optimally tolerates various weather conditions, and care for such a fabric will not require much effort). Often, chairs and tables are made of plastic. This material copes with pollution of different nature, easy to clean and does not require maintenance. The only thing that should be considered when choosing such furniture is some fragility, which plastic is exposed to at cold temperatures. It is necessary to hide such furniture from large hail. Aluminum frame parts ensure the strength and durability of the structure, as well as its lightness. Therefore, fabric bases are often attached to the aluminum frame, and when folded, such a table takes up literally the area that the metal parts of the structure put together form.

Where to use folding structures

In our own yard or in nature, we like to spend evenings, weekends, to organize holidays with family or friends. Leaving the city on a favorite meadow, a big company, I want to relax with comfort. If there is a car such as a van or a minivan, no problem is the transportation of such a pleasant resting place as a folding picnic table. If the country house is equipped with such a design, which is installed quickly and easily, the weekend will become a traditionally pleasant and comfortable outdoor recreation. In addition, it will increase the limited space in the courtyard, on occasion removing the transforming picnic table with benches. Often, such designs are created in a universal design of wood, which fits into any landscape.

How to design a table of cloth and aluminum tubes

Folded picnic folding table looks like a big box or a suitcase, which, folding out, is converted into a design of chairs (four or six) and a tabletop, fairly stable and reliable. Having golden hands and a little inspiration, you can make a folding picnic table with your own hands. If you want to limit yourself to a lightweight fabric and aluminum construction, you will need:

  • bend aluminum pipes, ensuring correct and symmetrical dimensions;
  • fasten a thick fabric, cut out on the seats, rivets or a thick synthetic thread seam for the seats;
  • think over movable mounts that allow chairs to be installed when the structure is opened;
  • make the countertop of MDF (it will also be lateral sides in the closed state).

As a rule, the standard sizes of chairs are 30 cm x 30 cm x 40 cm or 33 cm x 28 cm x 36 cm, and the table sizes for four are chosen 85 cm x 82 cm x 70 cm or more, for a company of six, 120 cm x 60 cm x 70 cm

If you have plastic parts with large smooth surfaces on hand, you can use them. The most creative masters can add LED lighting and speakers that will work from the player to create such a table for two.

Homemade folding picnic table made of wood

You can use a ready-made scheme for a simple and reliable design, which is easy to use in your yard of a country house, on a summer cottage or on a lawn in front of a house in the city if you live in the private sector. The drawing of the folding picnic table presented above can be a reference, the dimensions can be easily changed proportionally. But you can relax in comfort with this design anywhere. Practical and functional folding table is easy to paint in your favorite color or a few colors, and in the folded state is always used in the form of benches.

If you want to make the same table, you will only need boards, sawn in accordance with the dimensions and fixed together as shown in the figure.

Picnic table with your own hands

  • If you have a grinder and a welding machine, you can design a folding table with separate chairs that will be placed inside the table folded, which is convenient and compact during transportation.
  • The top of the chipboard can be painted in any color, but the side edges are recommended to be treated with antiseptic.
  • A square ferrous metal profile is welded along the lower perimeter, then inside it, through the pre-drilled holes, fasten the same metal-welded legs, as shown in the figure.

For chairs, a square profile of ferrous metal 20x20 mm is welded in the shape of the letter “P”. Their sizes: internal part of 450х280 mm, external 450х320 mm.

At the level of 230 mm, holes should be drilled through which the folding legs will be attached to each other.

To give the design a beautiful view of the metal parts should be painted, suitable paint PF-115.

Seats from awning fabric will make the chairs durable and comfortable for washing.

Fantasy will tell other options that are more convenient for you.

Now for the complete set I decided to make a simple tourist table - a cot. Such a folded table looks like a small plywood bag. The project of a design of a table includes production of a table-top from plywood. This material has sufficient strength, and its specific gravity is quite acceptable for use as the main material for such a variant of portable furniture. A plywood suitcase is easy to carry, taking up little space in the trunk of a car.

For its manufacture prepared the tools and purchased the necessary materials.

Tool

So, as the furniture assembly scheme is based on materials from plywood and wooden beams, the appropriate tool was needed:

  • drill;
  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • wrench 6 mm;
  • chisel;
  • level;
  • roulette, square, ruler, pencil.

Materials

Purchased materials according to the list I compiled:

  • plywood sheet 140 x 70 x 1 cm;
  • beam 800 x 4 x 4 cm - 1 pc .;
  • plastic handle - 1 pc .;
  • suitcase locks - 2 pcs .;
  • fastening screw-screw 100 x 6 mm with a wrench grip - 4 pcs .;
  • lamb nut ø 6 mm - 4 pcs .;
  • furniture hinges - 2 pcs .;
  • 30 mm screws - 30 pcs.

Outdoor furniture decided to make two folding worktops measuring 70 x 70 cm each. The height of the legs determined 60 cm, so that they freely fit inside the suitcase. At the same time, such a height of the legs should ensure a comfortable position of the person sitting at the table on an ordinary chair.

After the preparation for the self-assembly of the camping table was completed, I proceeded to the step-by-step implementation of the items in this manual.

Step by step instructions on how to make a tourist desk

  1. A sheet of plywood sawn an electric jigsaw into two parts measuring 70 x 70 cm.
  2. The timber sawed into pieces for the subframe: 70 cm - 4 pcs., 620 - pcs., And for the legs of 600 mm - 4 pcs.
  3. From pieces of a bar of 70 cm and 62 cm I collected 2 subframes, having connected them with screws in places of interfaces.
  4. On top of the frame laid plywood.
  5. Sheets of plywood with a screwdriver secured with screws around the perimeter of the frames.
  6. Chisel made in the back side of the junction of the frames to each other recesses of 2 mm for furniture hinges.
  7. Loop placed in the grooves and secured them with screws.
  1. At the corners of the frames, the drill made 4 through holes ø 6 mm.
  2. Screw 4 screws into the upper ends of the legs with a wrench.
  3. On one side of the frame attached with screws plastic handle.
  4. In the places where the tops of the tabletops were fastened to the frames with screws, suitcase locks.
  5. Screws-screws legs thrust threaded ends into the corner holes of the frames.
  6. From the outside, the threaded ends of the fastener are secured with wing nuts.
  7. He put the table on the legs and checked the level of horizontal worktops.
  8. Then he took off his legs, laid them inside the countertops of the folding furniture.
  9. Countertops folded, locked locks. The table took a marching position.

In order to make sure once again the correctness of the assembly of furniture for tourism, I assembled it again and checked all the fixing units. That's what happened in the end.

Cost of materials

Upon completion of the work, I calculated the cost of materials in order to produce folding furniture:

  • 140 x 70 x 0.9 cm plywood sheet = 150 rubles;
  • timber 800 x 4 x 4 cm = 8 m x 110 rub. = 880 rubles;
  • plastic handle - 1 pc. = 15 rubles;
  • locks for a suitcase - 2 pcs. = 20 rubles;
  • fastening screw-screw 100 x 8 mm with a wrench - 4 pcs. = 20 rubles;
  • lamb nut ø 8 mm - 4 pcs. x 2 rub. = 8 rubles;
  • furniture hinges - 2 pcs. - 10 rubles;
  • 30 mm screws - 30 pcs. in stock.

Total: 1103 rubles.

Labor costs

I spent 1 hour on cutting a plywood sheet and cutting a bar with an electric jigsaw. Assembling the table took 2 hours. Total time for making their own folding table was spent in the amount of 3 hours. During the work I used a respirator and goggles.

For those who have little experience in assembling furniture, it will be useful to watch the corresponding video, and then get down to work. Such furniture will be indispensable for a tourist going on a camping trip for a picnic in nature.
