How to assemble a construction trailer. Change house design, dimensions and drawing

When the site has already been purchased, and the cottage has yet to be built, its future owners simply need a utility room. A do-it-yourself change house is purchased or erected as temporary housing or even as a budget option for a country house. Subsequently, it can be used to store garden tools, barbecue and furniture from the gazebo. You can also put clothes and shoes for working in the garden here, or even a bicycle, toys and other items that are used while being in nature. Depending on what communications will be used in the change house, it can serve as a bathroom, shower, bath or utility unit.

The container change house has a lot of advantages. It is advisable to buy such a structure in order to live in it during the construction of the main house, and then sell it. Such a structure will not fit into the general design of a summer cottage, where everything is usually made of wood.

Self-made change houses

Despite the sufficient simplicity of the structure being erected, a drawing of the change house is still needed. It will help to accurately "fit" the change house into the existing space of the site, orient the builder on the ground. Foresight will not be overkill. This is especially important if the change house is to be operated in the future as a bath or a guest house. The drawing will make it possible to visually imagine how to build a change house with your own hands: it will help to make the correct calculation of the need for material and tools.

Choosing the best place

The location of the change house on the site is determined depending on how the owner wants to dispose of it later. It is necessary to immediately decide whether the change house will remain on the site or will have to be sold as soon as the need for it passes. If the owners of the plot do not need a shed for tools, a bathhouse, or a guest house, then the change house can be sent to another facility or simply sold. Then the structure should be located so that it would be easier to hook it with a crane from the roadway.

Otherwise, it will be necessary to disassemble the building, which is always undesirable. If the change house will be operated as a utility block, then it is recommended to place it in the middle part of the long side of the site. Converted into a bathhouse, the change house should be located at the far end of the site, since in relation to such a building it is necessary to comply with fire safety standards.

Construction of the foundation of the structure

Do-it-yourself construction of a change house begins with a foundation. The change house is not considered a heavy structure, therefore, a columnar foundation is usually used for its construction. If the shed will be demolished in the future, it will not be difficult to disassemble such a foundation. For a temporary structure, it is better to choose cinder blocks - they are cheaper, and in which case they are easy to make yourself.

So, first of all, from the surface of the earth at the place where the cinder blocks are located, you need to remove the fertile layer, tamp the earth well and cover it with geotextiles, then fill it with sand and tamp it again. We install cinder blocks on the prepared base, placing them in the corners and every 1.5 meters. Cinder blocks must be waterproofed with roofing material or bitumen mastic, after which the wooden frame of the building is fixed with an anchor method.

The foundation for a temporary structure is made easier than for a capital one: it can be easily disassembled if the change house has to be dismantled

When planning to make a permanent change house, the master must pay more attention to the foundation. In this case, the fertile layer is removed from the entire surface, geotextiles and 5 cm sand are covered, which is carefully rammed. Under the pillars of the foundation, you need to dig holes 50 cm deep in the corners and every 1.5 m of the perimeter. However, the posts can be placed more often. We must cover the pits with geotextiles and fill them with 40 cm of well-rammed sand.

It is better to make the foundation of bricks, and it should be 30 cm high (10 cm to the ground and 20 cm higher). Reinforcement at least one meter high will be driven into the central part of the foundation. It is needed to fix the lag. Therefore, we leave an empty area in the center, which, after placing the rods, we fill with concrete. Do not forget about the waterproofing of the posts with bituminous mastic or roofing material. We control the level of the uniform height of the columns.

How to create a wireframe for rooms and roofs

When the question of building the foundation is no longer there, we proceed to the construction of the structure itself. We form the basis of the building: we place the logs around the perimeter and carefully fix it. After that, we lay the transverse and, finally, longitudinal logs. On the frame of the change house, we use a beam of 150x100 mm, from which we mount the floor and support posts in the corners. A reliable connection is provided by cuts in the logs, in which the bars are inserted into one another and fixed with self-tapping screws. Lags are strung on reinforcement contours. To fix the vertical and the lags attached to them, corners and self-tapping screws are used.

The frame of the structure must be built as carefully as possible, because the quality of the structure as a whole and its durability depend on it.

The frame of the premises is ready, now you can make the frame of the roof. For a pitched roof, bars of 50x100mm are needed. Rafters will be inserted into the cuts of the supporting bars. Fixation takes place with self-tapping screws. Beyond the perimeter of the change house itself, the rafters should extend by 30cm. We choose ondulin as a coating, as it does not require special construction skills. The general structure of the roof must contain hydro and vapor barrier and insulation.

A crate of boards or wooden bars is laid on the rafters, since ondulin is a light material. We mount the ondulin sheets with an overlap from bottom to top using special fasteners that are included in the kit. Now you can install doors and windows.

Execution of finishing works

Well, the basis of the change house has already been created and the terrible question of how to make the change house on your own turned out to be not so scary. However, the work has not yet been completed. We cover the subfloor, not forgetting to treat the boards with an antiseptic. Place a layer of mineral wool between the two layers of waterproofing. It is important not to confuse which side of the waterproofing should lie up. Now we are laying the finishing floor.

Such a wonderful change house can be built with your own hands in just a week, if you really want to and try hard

For the inner cladding of the building, we use OSB, if the structure is temporary, or lining, if it has to stay on the site for a long time. For fixing both materials, it is preferable to use self-tapping screws, rather than nails. Don't forget about vapor barrier and insulation. Outside, we sheathe the change house, for example, with a block house. It remains to make a comfortable porch and the construction of a summer cottage can be considered complete.

Construction work is a complex and multifaceted process, for which it is required to provide literally every detail, including a temporary housing for a team of workers. An excellent option in this case can be a household construction trailer. There are many uses for it, right up to a kiosk, a small cafe or even a mobile office in the future. Moreover, small trailers, converted into a house, are often found in suburban areas. They are transported several times a year, and this is the main advantage of a temporary dwelling.

Having built a household trailer for yourself, you can turn it into a real house with everything you need: with a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom. And if you still doubt whether it is worth investing in a change house, then make up your mind - there is nothing to think about. If the design is made of sufficient quality, then it will pay for itself very quickly. Moreover, in the future it can even be rented out.

Only two materials are used for the manufacture of cabins:

  • metal;
  • wood.

Of course, wooden structures are cheaper, and if the cladding is still properly processed (it is often lining), then the change house will last at least ten years. If we talk about metal, then it looks more modern, is characterized by strength and the ability to withstand heavy loads, but in comparison with wood, this material is significantly more expensive.

Often, trailers are made on a metal frame, so installation on a pre-erected foundation is not required - any leveled surface or special blocks will do. The carriage can perform one of three functions:

  • be temporary housing for builders;
  • be a security post;
  • serve as a warehouse for building materials.

The premises inside the carriage can be divided or combined, but in both cases it is desirable to have a vestibule - it is necessary to protect against the ingress of cold air outside.

Completely wooden trailers are less common, and even then mainly on the sea coasts or suburban areas. The change house made of wood perfectly conducts heat, so it can be quickly heated. In addition, the weight of such a structure is much less than that of a metal one. But regardless of the selected frame, you can equip your trailer with wheels and an axle at any time, "taking" a little living space with you on the road.

With the help of modular structures, you can create a whole town of change houses in the immediate vicinity of the construction site. All you need to worry about is water and electricity. If there is not enough space on the building area, then you can resort to vertical installation - the main thing is that the structure withstands.

Pros and cons of change houses

Compared to a household container or a rented apartment, the change house car is much cheaper and has smaller dimensions. Here are the main advantages of the trailers:

  • acceptable quality;
  • polyfunctionality;
  • no need for assembly;
  • low cost;
  • the possibility of multiple transportation.

And now the disadvantages:

  • limited configuration;
  • the need for permanent storage space;
  • a large number of cracks, connections (increased heating costs);
  • low fire safety.

Buying, renting or building?

Having stopped your choice on a wagon-shed, you will probably ask yourself this question. Let's consider the strengths and weaknesses of each option.

Buying a trailer

The cost in this case depends on the size and on whether the car is new or already used. Here are the standard sizes: 250x250x600 cm. In such a design, you can fit from six to eight people, and the cost will vary from 40,000 to 60,000 rubles.

Smaller cabins are cheaper, but their comfort is at a rather low level. For example, no more than four people can fit in a carriage measuring 230x240x400 cm, but it will be cramped for them. Such constructions will cost from 24,000 to 32,000 rubles.

Change house rental

If the construction work will take no more than six months, then you can stop at the option of renting such a change house. It has some advantages:

  • you will not waste precious time looking for a suitable product;
  • the trailer will be brought and installed at the construction site by employees of the company that leases it;
  • the change house will already have everything you need for living;
  • at the end of the agreed period, the trailer will be disassembled and taken away, too, without your participation.

If the site has already been prepared and the place for the installation of the trailer has been chosen, then do not forget about one important point: after assembly, the change house must also be raised. To do this, take care of the foundation blocks measuring 20x30x30 cm in advance.

First stage. First, decide which frame will be used. The best option is a ready-made frame, which can serve as a metal container.

If you do not have such an opportunity, start building the structure on your own. To do this, take wooden beams 5x5 cm 6 m long and build a frame from them (its dimensions depend on the needs).

Note! If the size of the change house will exceed the average (we talked about the average above), then take care of the auxiliary fastening with runners - so the design will be more reliable.

Second phase. Next, mark the windows and doors on the wall blanks, build a roof (it is better to use metal tiles or galvanized steel for covering). On the lower part, install runners made of beams measuring 20x20 cm or 15x15 cm and lay a sub-floor. It is very important to check it diagonally after that.

For the floor, you can use any available material, but a 5 cm thick board is best. Insulate with mineral wool.

Stage three. Then lay out the outer cladding using sandwich panels, lining or corrugated board. At the same stage, you have to lay the final floor (it can be laminate, plywood or the same board).

Stage four. The next stage of work is the inner lining of the trailer.

Note! Along with the cladding, insulate the walls, waterproof the floor and roof. Although you can refuse to carry out this procedure, if your plans do not include the operation of the change house in the winter.

Sheathe the inside of the trailer in stages, do not try to capture the entire area of the room at once. Do it this way: first choose one wall, veneer it completely, and only then proceed to the next.

Fifth stage. The final stage of installation work is the installation of windows and doors, electricity supply. Then, if everything is done correctly, you can start operating the construction trailer.

To use the change house all year round, you must definitely insulate it. To do this, build a crate and insert insulation plates into the openings of the structure. This material, as already mentioned, can be mineral wool (it is laid in a 5-centimeter layer), but you can also use expanded polystyrene, fiberglass, etc. Cover the insulation boards with a special insulating material.

Pay special attention to the purchase of finishing materials, inquire about the availability of a quality certificate from the seller. If you decide to finish the carriage with wood, then you can additionally purchase paints and varnishes. Use wallpaper to finish smooth plasterboard surfaces. When laying a wooden floor, first install the logs of the appropriate size (pre-treated with tar), lay insulation and a layer of waterproofing, and then lay the boards. You can cover the boards with linoleum.

If desired, a household trailer can be easily turned into a cozy bathhouse. To do this, insulate the entire room and trim it with linden clapboard, then treat the surfaces with antiseptic and moisture-repellent agents. In a standard trailer, both a steam room and a dressing room can easily fit - you just need to build partitions with a door between them.

Note! Be sure to take care of the drain pit next to such a bath!

The stove can be either a conventional heater or an electric model.

As a conclusion

As a result, I would like to note that cabins-change houses are the best option not only for temporary housing, but also for such architectural forms as a medical center or a bathhouse (such use of cars was successfully practiced back in the days of the USSR). Today, in such structures, you can not only sleep, but also spend leisure time in peace or even cook food.

Many people have summer cottages outside the city, but not all of them are equipped for living. Some use the land as a vegetable garden, while others only plan to build a house on it. But arriving at the dacha in the morning and then leaving in the evening back to the city is not convenient for everyone, and sometimes they do not want to. After all, spending time away from the bustle of the city, enjoying the fresh air and birdsong in the garden is a pleasure.

But to come to the dacha and stay there for a while, you need shelter. The construction of a full-fledged residential building will take a lot of time and money, but the equipment of a small country house from a change house will appeal to every owner of a suburban land plot.

A house from a change house can become both a permanent place of residence at the dacha in the warm season, and temporary, while a full-fledged residential building is being built. It is worth noting that you can live in the change house throughout the entire calendar year if you equip it with heating, electricity and water supply. And after the completion of the construction of the cottage, the change house can be sold or left as a utility room. Read more about what a change house is, what it is made of and how such a country "house" is used in our article.

Types of cabins

Manufacturers offer a fairly wide range of cabins that can be equipped with everything necessary for both permanent and temporary residence. By appointment, cabins are divided into:

    intended for a country utility room;

    residential change houses, for temporary residence of workers or directly the owner himself.

    can play the role of a manager's office or a foreman.

Change houses are still construction, summer cottage and block containers, and by their design they are divided into:

    wireframe.

  • lumber.

Most often, cabins are made at the factory and if you decide to order them, they will be delivered by truck already assembled. As for the dimensions of the cabins, they are calculated so that the structure can freely fit into the body of a truck or trailer.

Features of block containers

For some reason, the very word "container" is immediately associated with metal and the thought appears that it will be very hot in summer and cold in winter. But not all containers are metal, moreover, their walls and ceiling are insulated and finished both inside and outside. Manufacturers of block containers take maximum care to ensure that the use of such cabins is as comfortable as possible.

Metal block container used as a utility block

As mentioned above, block containers are not only metal, they are also made of wood. Metal structures are most often used as building cabins, the standard dimensions of which are 2.5x6 m, and the ceiling height is 2.2 m.As already became clear, the frame of such cabins consists of metal, the outside of the structure is finished with galvanized corrugated board, from the inside - dry wooden clapboard , PVC panels or fiberboard, MDF clapboard or hardboard. Mineral wool is used as a heater. The doors of the cabins are made of fiberboard, and the windows, measuring 1x1.2 m, are equipped with double-glazed windows. Buyers are given the opportunity to install partitions in the change house to get several rooms.

Manufacturers of metal block containers give a five-year warranty for the operation of the change house.

People most often buy a residential trailer for living made of wood when they are going to build a summer cottage or to live in them on a suburban area during the warm season during their holidays. Therefore, such cabins are also called "country houses". Wooden block containers are also used as utility units, summer kitchens, or they are equipped with everything necessary for year-round living.

Wood structures are much warmer and lighter than metal ones. As a decoration, both outside and inside, a wooden lining acts. As for the dimensions of the change house and the size of the windows, they are the same for metal and wooden block containers.

You can use block containers for more than fifteen years. Whole modular houses are built from such cabins, connecting them together and removing partitions. And if you put the structures on top of each other, you get a two-story house.

On our website you can find contacts of construction companies that offer a house design service. You can communicate directly with representatives by visiting the Low-Rise Country exhibition of houses.

Country cabins

Like block containers, country cabins are made of metal and wood.

The latter are best used for living in the warm season, and metal cabins are great for year-round use. Metal structures, thanks to the corrugated board, better tolerate changes in weather conditions.

Country cabins are finished with fiberboard or wooden clapboard from the inside. The last finishing option is more suitable for permanent residence. In the summer cottages, separate rooms, a utility block, a toilet and a shower are provided, and this is their main feature.

Wooden country cabins, in turn, are divided into frame, panel board and timber.

Shield country cabins

The cheapest type of wooden summer cottage is a panel house. Such structures are not designed for long-term use, but due to their low cost, they are in great demand among summer residents during the construction of a house. As an external finish of panel structures, not a one-piece lining is used, but from the inside the walls are sheathed with fiberboard.

Foam or glass wool serves as insulation. The floor in the shed is plank, 21 mm thick, and the roof is iron. Country panel houses are highly susceptible to changes in geometric dimensions, since their design does not provide for stiffening ribs.

Frame type country cabins

The most optimal option in terms of price and quality is a frame summer cottage. As a basis, a wooden beam with a size of 50x50 mm is used, which gives the structure stability and the ability to withstand loads.

The final cost of a frame change house depends on the material used for interior and exterior decoration. Manufacturers offer a choice of fiberboard, plywood or lining.

Important! The most expensive finishing option is lining, which, in case of shrinkage of the change house, does not swell and does not bulge, like other materials, which also absorb moisture well and change their geometric dimensions.

The floor in the frame shed is double - it consists of a rough and a finishing floorboard measuring 32 mm. A 50 mm thick layer of mineral wool is used as insulation for walls, floors and ceilings. Also, the structure has a vapor barrier - glassine or plastic wrap.

Country cabins made of timber

The most expensive, but at the same time more durable, is a summer cottage made of coniferous timber 100x150 mm in size. Wall decoration in this design is usually not provided, and the ceiling, doors and internal partitions of the country house are made of lining. Manufacturers offer to choose the type of roof - one- or two-slope, but the former is usually used for buildings up to 5 m.

If a shed made of timber is installed in an area where the winter air temperature does not fall below -10 degrees, then additional insulation of the structure can be dispensed with, but only on condition that the production process was not disrupted during the manufacture of temporary housing. If the timber is tightly laid and secured with metal brackets, and the seams are insulated with tow or linen, only in this case, you can count on high strength and heat preservation inside the room.

How change houses are equipped for a residential building

For a comfortable stay, cabins from cabins are equipped with all the necessary communications, divide the total area into rooms, connect several cabins into one integral structure. The minimum number of rooms in a country house:

  • kitchen;
  • bedroom;
  • bathroom;
  • utility block.

The bedroom in the dacha shed can be equipped under the ceiling

If more than two people live in the shed, then due to the limited area in the bedroom, bunk beds are installed, for this the width of the room of 2.5 meters is quite enough. Country houses from cabins must be connected to the following communications:

  • electricity;
  • water supply;
  • sewerage.

To exclude the occurrence of emergency situations, communications must be connected by specialists.

In a country house, it is necessary to make heating from a change house, which is often a conventional solid fuel stove. If there is a backup source of electricity in case of a power outage, then heat the change house using electric heaters.

Video description

Look at the video for a selection of country houses from cabins:

Installation of a hot water boiler and a radiator system is possible. This option is especially convenient when the house is being built from two or more cabins. In this case, one boiler is enough, in which the heated coolant will be transferred through pipes to the combined rooms.

Country house from a change house equipped with a solid fuel stove

The advantage of using several cabins on the site is the ability to combine them with each other without sacrificing strength.

The use of two change houses, which are installed at a distance of 3 m from each other, can significantly increase the living area of the house. When equipping such a country house, much more people can be accommodated in it due to the fact that the kitchen and bathroom will be equipped in a separate shed.

So that the space between the containers is also used for its intended purpose, two walls are made that will unite the change houses, and a common roof is mounted on top. Thus, it turns out that the house is quite suitable for living throughout the year.

The space between the cabins can be used not only for living, but also for placing a car. In this case, instead of one wall connecting the change houses, it is necessary to equip a gate. Also, the middle part can be used as a storage room or workshop.

If a house of two change houses will be used by only one or two people, then it is advisable to heat only one change house, and use the rest of the space exclusively for economic purposes.

Variants of houses from change houses - photo examples

Choosing a house from change houses, projects can be sorted through endlessly, especially if you want something original and comfortable. The manufacturing companies of cabins offer consumers a huge number of different functional options for country houses, from standard ones to large and bunk houses. If you order several cabins at once for arranging one house, you will be offered many ready-made solutions for their connection.

In the photo below is a project of a change house with a canopy. By extending the roof a little, you can equip a canopy that will protect the front door from precipitation. Aesthetically, this design looks much better than a standard change house.

If you place the cabins at a right angle, as in the photo below, you get a very interesting design.

From several change houses, you can make a capital modular structure, suitable for year-round living.

If it is necessary to accommodate a large number of people in a small area, then a two-story building can be installed.

Modular cabins can be used to build multi-storey buildings to accommodate workers.

Conclusion

Cabins are very popular. Firstly, it is an inexpensive and convenient option for temporary residence, accommodation of workers, equipment of a summer kitchen in a private household or utility room. Secondly, quite original houses for permanent residence are obtained from several change houses. And most importantly, the cabins are mobile, if you need to move your house to another site and even to another city, this is easy to do by hiring a truck.

Sometimes there is a need for cheap temporary housing. Change houses are inexpensive compared to a capital structure, so their use has become widespread both on a construction site and on a personal plot, and the rational distribution of the area inside a mobile house made the temporary house a convenient and comfortable housing.

What attracts us to the change houses?

Modular cabins are made of wood (cheaper) and metal (more expensive), but each type of structure can be made independently, although for the production of a container you will need special knowledge and tools, a prepared room. The welded frame of the metal change house allows it to withstand the load on the second floor of the mobile building. If you need a high-quality trailer for a construction site, then you should purchase a reliable design.

The advantages of change houses are not fully realized until the moment of purchasing temporary housing. But if you already have a change house, then your workers will be grateful to you for a comfortable living environment.

Advantages of change houses:

  1. Fast manufacturing process in production or assembly on site, which cannot be reached by a handling crane.
  2. The construction of a permanent foundation is not necessary. It is enough to level the platform under the structure and lay the foundation blocks.
  3. Change houses will cost you inexpensively, since their cost starts from 25 thousand rubles. Modern materials make it possible to build cheap but warm cabins. After there is no need for use, the more expensive structure is rented or sold. But, most likely, the change house will come in handy for you more than once.
  4. The mobility of the huts is the main advantage of the change house, because a mobile home can be transported from one site to another, no transportation permits are required. And if there is a chassis with wheels at the bottom of the cabins, this will greatly facilitate the unloading or loading of the structure. A trailed trailer is a more convenient option for a change house.
  5. Ready for operation immediately after unloading.
  6. Re-equipment of a change house is an easy task, due to which the purpose of the product changes.
  7. When buying collapsible cabins, you save storage space.

The area of use of temporary housing does not end at a construction site or summer cottage, because the change house is useful in remote work in the field, as a warehouse, security point, mobile office or as another housing near your home, the so-called. guest house.

Sometimes temporary huts are needed only for the construction season, and in this case it is worth buying cheap wooden cabins. The lining facade does not need special insulation if the structure is needed for the summer. But, more often, it is better to sheathe the change house with mineral wool, which will not only make the room warm, but also protect the wooden cladding from decay.

How to make a wooden change house on your own?

If you do not want to overpay for production services for assembling a change house, or you just need to be sure of a high-quality installation of a temporary hut, then it should be done on your own. The manufacturing process takes 10 hours, provided that you work with electric tools together with a partner. In addition to the materials presented in the table, you will also need self-tapping screws, staples with a stapler and fiberboard panels for internal cladding.

Table 1. Materials that will be needed to build a change house
Material Characteristic Quantity
10 * 10cm length 6m 10 units
Board 5 * 10cm 12 units
Board 2.5 * 15cm 1.5 m3
Polyester Thickness 150 microns 6 * 8 m
Polyester Thickness 100 microns 3 * 10 m
Vapor barrier In rolls 2 units
Mineral wool Thickness from 50 to 100 mm 8 m3

The end result should be a wooden change house on a squared coniferous timber frame, sheathed with lumber of natural moisture. For interior decoration, lining is also used, but when installing a change house, stop inexpensively on hardboard or fiberboard. The moisture content of the tree should not exceed 12%, which minimizes the risk of cracks due to shrinkage of the structure.

The dimensions of a standard change house are no more than 2.5 * 6m and a height of 2.5m. Typical dimensions facilitate fast transportation of the structure on a truck body. The tree should be pre-treated with an antiseptic compound, and the floor, walls and even the roof should be insulated with mineral wool, which is attached to the frame at the edges with staples.

Windows and doors use wood, but for greater thermal insulation - metal-plastic. If you want to make a roof from ondulin or metal tiles, this will increase the cost of the change house by 8 thousand rubles, installation of electrical wiring - plus another 7-8 thousand rubles, sheathe the facade with siding, imitation of timber or a block house - plus 10 to 15 thousand rubles to the project.

Arrangement of the foundation for the change house is desirable, since if it is available, the change house will not collapse from the bottom. You can choose either a pile or block installation of the foundation, which depends on the service life of the temporary building.

Each land owner strives to equip it in accordance with his preferences. During the construction period, a change house will serve as a comfortable accommodation for a family or a team of workers. A special type of temporary housing can be a mini-house with comfortable conditions. The article will discuss how to make a summer cottage with your own hands.

Appointment of country cabins

A seemingly simple structure carries great functionality. Its presence on the site is due to many factors:

  • the insulated change house is perfect as the main housing in a summer cottage. If communications are also equipped in it, then it is quite possible to live all year round;

Change house undershirt country

  • while construction is underway, the change house can be equipped for short-term residence;
  • often use it as a utility room, storage of garden tools, mini-warehouse for very "necessary" things;
  • the building can be equipped with a summer kitchen, a shed for breeding poultry, a workshop or a bath.

Change houses country houses

  • There is a huge selection of ready-made cabins on the market. Manufacturers offer to additionally equip them for the current and future needs of the client. They can be delivered to the site both prefabricated and collapsible.
  • The standard width of wooden summer cottages is 2.3 m, the height is 2.5 m, as for the length, it can be 5, 6, 7 m. The maximum dimensions of a non-capital structure are 3x12 m.
  • The strength of metal buildings, as well as the ecological purity of wood, leaves no doubt, therefore, the choice of material remains only with the consumer. To the advantages of metal should be added the ability to manufacture 2 and even 3-storey buildings.
  • On individual orders, summer cottages with verandas, equipped with a heating system, air conditioning or other equipment are produced. It is proposed to install related elements: sockets, plumbing with the ability to connect to various communications. The interior space is planned with partitions, which are arranged in a standard version or according to the customer's request. Often on sale you can find two-story summer cottages.

Do-it-yourself construction of a change house

The construction of non-capital housing is quite feasible on our own. The work can take from a week to a month, this time period depends on the material used, the complexity of the project and, of course, the skill.

  • If the operation of the change house is planned for a short time, then this fact will significantly save on the internal arrangement of the premises. You can abandon internal partitions, install a minimum of sockets, use cheaper materials for cladding, etc. If the building is planned to be operated for a long time, then it is recommended to choose a project of a summer cottage with a shower and toilet.

Layout of the change house country photo

  • Before construction, you should think about many important points, even with the condition of temporary residence.
  • The foundation is necessary in any case. Usually, a base of pillars is used, which are located at the corners and long sides of the structure. The distance between them should not exceed 2.5 m.
  • A gravel cushion, equipped before laying the pillars, will serve as an obstacle for trees and plants making their way.
  • The site for construction is selected on a hill, which will prevent flooding by melt and rainwater. If this condition is impracticable for a number of reasons, then storm drains will be installed without fail.
  • Window and door openings are placed on one side or on adjacent walls with an exit to the south or east.
  • If you install a change house near the power line, you can significantly reduce the cost of laying overhead wiring.

Material for the manufacture of a summer cottage

Materials for a mobile structure are selected depending on the area of application of the building, financial capabilities.

  • Foundation. During construction, preference is given to a columnar or pile foundation. The further apart the pillars (piles) are, the more reliable the grillage should be. It makes no sense to carry out laborious and expensive work on the arrangement of the capital foundation.
  • Frame. The basis of any structure is a frame made of metal or wood. From the channel and metal corners, change houses are made completely ready for use. The wooden frame includes both prefabricated and stationary structures.
  • External finishing. Sheathing is done by means of profile sheets, siding, clapboard, block house, etc.
  • Warming. Special attention is paid to thermal insulation. To insulate the summer cottage, foam plastic, glass wool are used, the seams are sealed with foam. The floors are also laid with heat and waterproofing materials.
  • Interior decoration. The room is sheathed with hardboard, clapboard, MDF or PVC panels. During temporary use, the walls are upholstered with edged boards.

  • Doors. Iron and plastic wooden products are installed on the doorways. When arranging openings, special attention is paid to their strengthening. Due to the movement of the soil, the lack of capital of the mini-house, horizontal and vertical beams can be skewed and make it difficult to open / close the door leaf.
  • Window. There are only two materials for making frames here - wood and plastic. Metal shutters can be installed to protect windows from intruders and vandals. Recently, roller shutters have been popular with developers.
  • Roof. Often, the roof for a given structure has one slope, less often a gable roof is equipped. The slope should not be less than 20 °, this will allow snow masses and rainwater not to accumulate on the surface. A profiled sheet or slate is chosen as a covering.
  • Layout. A summer cottage can be two-room or not contain any partitions. Change houses come with an attached veranda, shower, toilet, etc. The layout and availability of various amenities depends on the desire and financial capabilities of the developer.

Stages of building a summer cottage with your own hands

Based on general information regarding the choice of material, an approximate cost estimate is made. A more accurate calculation is carried out using a blueprint for the future building.

Base for the frame

  • Under the foundation, the site is cleared from debris, plant roots, etc. The excavation is carried out with a depth of 15-20 cm a little more than the perimeter of the building. Sand is poured onto the bottom with a layer of 10 cm, moistened and carefully rammed.
  • Pillars made of bricks on cement mortar are laid out with a height of 20-30 cm. For these purposes, concrete blocks are perfect. They are placed in the corners of the cabins; the pillars installed in the middle of the long side of the building will help to further strengthen the base.

  • The area around the pillars is covered with coarse gravel. Lime added to the gravel will help protect the underfloor space from nesting of rodents or other living creatures.
  • If the site on which the construction is carried out has a slope, then the height of the posts must be varied, that is, set at different heights.

Bottom strapping

  • The channel serves as a grillage. Its fixation can be carried out by means of anchor bolts in pre-drilled holes in the metal and supports.
  • If wooden beams are laid on the pillars (piles), the thickness of which should be at least 100x50 mm, then the heads are covered with 2 layers of roofing material or coated with bitumen mastic. The tree is treated with impregnations that protect against decay, damage by insects.

Assembling the frame

  • At the corners, vertical beams with a section of 40x40 mm or 50x50 mm are set. The beams forming the wall with the entrance door should be 15-20 cm higher than the rear ones, depending on the planned roof slope.

  • Top strapping is made from above. Fastening of wooden parts is carried out with nails, screws or using metal corners.
  • The distance between the verticals, as a rule, is 60 cm. The reading should be taken from the corner of the building to the windows, from windows to doorways. Horizontal lintels are immediately exposed, which will serve as supports for glass units and a door frame.
  • Cross bars, which serve to strengthen the frame, are placed in the middle of the wall length. If you plan to install drywall, then the crossbars are installed to fit the dimensions of the sheet.
  • On a short wall, logs are placed on the lower strapping; here you can use lumber with a section of 100x50 mm. To do this, grooves are cut out in the lower beams along the width of the log with a depth of 25 mm, in the same way the grooves are selected from the ends of the supports.
  • Lags can also be installed in the form of spacers between the bars of the lower harness. In this case, fixation is made with metal corners and self-tapping screws. On top of them, edged boards are nailed tightly to each other, you can also lay sheet material - chipboard or fiberboard.
  • Then logs are installed again, which can be positioned both along and across the walls. The step between the floor supports is selected according to the floor covering, but it should not be less than 50 cm. A layer of waterproofing material and a layer of insulation are laid between them.
  • Next, the flooring is laid. If linoleum is used, then a wooden plate or plasterboard sheets are fixed on the logs.

Roof, ceiling

  • A rafter system is installed on the upper harness, the step of which is 600-800 mm. The cross bars are mounted at a distance of 500 mm. Such a lathing design is suitable for a covering made of profiled sheet and slate.

  • On the inside, waterproofing and insulation are placed in the resulting cells. The pie is closed with sheets of plywood, fiberboard, chipboard, you can also use drywall.

Walls

  • From the outside, the surfaces are sheathed with clapboard, siding, profiled sheets, glass-magnesium sheets.
  • Sheathing can be done with horizontally arranged boards. Their installation begins from the lowest point, the next row is located with a small spade on the previous board. This method will increase the consumption of lumber, but at the same time provide protection from the penetration of wind and rain drops.
  • It will be useful to recall that all the wooden components of the structure are pre-treated with impregnating agents. The preparations will protect surfaces from the effects of aggressive media, thereby significantly extending their service life.

  • From the inside, the walls can be sheathed with those materials that were used for outdoor work. Insulation plates are laid between the outer and inner walls, if necessary.
  • If the summer cottage is equipped with a toilet or shower, then it is advisable to close the walls with plastic panels.
  • The wiring is carried out in metal or plastic sleeves;
  • the location of electrical appliances (lamps, sockets, switches, air conditioners, etc.), as well as a shower and other plumbing fixtures is calculated in advance;
  • in places where heavy objects are attached to the wall, it is necessary to install an additional crossbar, on which, in principle, their fixation will be carried out;
  • for the arrangement of the bathroom area, only moisture-resistant materials are used. Portable dry closets are an excellent option;
  • a tank can be installed on the roof, from which water will flow to the shower, taps, etc. For the operation of the change house in the winter, a boiler is installed;
  • as a heater used: bulk materials, mineral wool, sheets of expanded polystyrene, glass wool.
  • stoves and heaters operating on solid and liquid fuels, gas, as well as electrical appliances are used to heat the premises. It should be remembered that heating efficiency is achieved in conjunction with competently and efficiently insulated structural elements (floor, walls, roof).

Country cabins of increased comfort

  • Change houses with 2 floors are distinguished by increased comfort for living. This, of course, is due to the increased area. The space allows you to place a bathroom and a shower, a kitchen area, and allocate a place to relax.
  • The rise to the 2nd floor is carried out by means of a ladder, due to the mobility of the structure, the arrangement of a ladder inside the change house is not provided.
  • When choosing such a structure, a more solid foundation is chosen. Here, a tape type of base is formed, a pile-rammed foundation is perfect.

In any case, is there a desire to buy a ready-made summer cottage or build it with your own hands, the main thing is to choose the right material and make a layout depending on its purpose.
