The most beautiful wood lamps. DIY wood chandelier

Nothing adds coziness to your interior more than wooden objects: tables, bedside tables, beds or pleasant things that please the eye - crafts, paintings and other little things. Have you ever thought how stylish and home-like lamps made of wood will look?

4 master classes on how to make a wood chandelier - very stylish and modern!

Look at the master classes offered below, appreciate the photos of finished wooden chandeliers - you will be amazed at the simplicity of manufacture and elegance of forms. Such do-it-yourself wood chandeliers will look harmonious in any room - from the hallway to the bedroom, moreover - they can be hung on the veranda or in the garage - they will emit warm, romantic diffused light everywhere.

What is the geometry of the room made of? From the arrangement of walls, furniture, tulles, paintings ... Add more style to your room by introducing chandelier geometry into it! Such a stylish ceiling lamp made of wooden slats is not difficult to manufacture, but it looks very impressive.

Materials and tools

  • 18 wooden slats (posts);
  • construction stapler with staples;
  • metal suspension for the chandelier;
  • paint for metal;
  • jigsaw;
  • ruler;
  • pencil.

Installation process

Let's prepare the frame of the chandelier - wooden posts. They will be natural in color.

  • First we cut 4 identical tall posts- by the height of the chandelier.
  • Then let's make 8 more - for transverse inserts.

Step 2: We make the frame of the chandelier.

  • We make the first frame. We take 2 long guides, put them parallel to each other, 2 short - across between them and fasten in all corners with a construction stapler.
  • We also apply the second pair of long slats. It turned out 2 frames. With the same stapler we connect them with other transverse strips. It turns out a kind of cube.

Let's add a design touch to the frame - we will lay another diagonal rail through each side of the cube. To do this, we cut off one corner of the rail at 45 degrees and attach to one of the sides for fitting.

Step 3.

  • Mark with a pencil and saw off with a jigsaw.
  • Attach the diagonal with a construction stapler, as shown in the photo.
  • We will do the same for the rest of the parties.

Step 4: fixing

The model of this chandelier does not imply a plafond, so we take a ready-made blank for the lamp - the original suspension for the lamp. Let's paint it in favorite color and leave to dry.

Step 5.

While the paint is drying, make a hole in the frame to secure it to the factory suspension. The hole in diameter should not be much larger than the diameter of the pipe so that the lamp does not fall through.

But in any case, on the inside, you need to screw a washer or a proprietary stopper.

When the suspension is dry, fix it to the ceiling, then put on the lamp frame, twist the stopper and twist the light bulb.

Looking at this chandelier, you will realize that you would not find it in any store. It will become a favorite decoration of even the simplest and smallest room and will definitely be a skillful addition to your home interior.

These master classes are intended for anyone who would like to learn or raise the level of their skill in making practical, unique and rather elegant wood chandeliers with their own hands. The advantages of these products are that the wood is easy to process, it is safe, because all the conductive parts are hidden in insulated cases, and you can fit your hand-made chandeliers into any interior!

Master class number 2. Designer chandelier made of wood

A simple creative wood lamp can be used as a night light by making it less light, or as a chandelier by making fewer stripes.

Materials and tools:

  • very thin wood plywood or thick sheets of paper (the main element of the lamp);
  • glue for wood or paper (PVA);
  • clips or clips (only useful in the process);
  • a wire with a socket and a plug (if it is a lamp from a common power supply);
  • pencil;
  • scissors or a paper knife.

Assembling the chandelier

If you don't have pre-made strips, you can cut them from a piece of thin plywood or heavy paper. You can mark the strips with a pencil or cut them straight away, because they don't have to be the same. Any design decisions are welcome!

We glue the strips. We make a rim of the desired diameter from each strip and glue it with an overlap with PVA glue or for wood.

It is better to glue it right away, creating the final design of the chandelier, since it will be difficult to make one shape from rims of different diameters at the end. Insert strips between others and clasp them together.

  • It is necessary to make a mount for the lamp holder and lamp. Use energy saving light bulbs and while the power is on, do not touch the electrically conductive parts of the cartridge.
  • Cut out square piece of plywood and make a hole in it for the cartridge. To do this, you need to circle the inner diameter of the cartridge so that after it does not slip through.

  • We cut out a hole with a knife and fix the cartridge in it.
  • We drag the wire through the lamp, taking into account how it will hang.
  • Then we fix the cardboard itself with the cartridge in the lamp with glue, as shown in the photo.

To dry, fix the plywood with two clamps. We leave for a while.

When the glue is dry remove all clamps... It remains to hang a handmade lamp where it will delight you every day!

Master class No. 3. Wall lamp made of wood

If you like bright electric light and the romance of simple details, check out this master class. Nothing complicated, but original and stylish. A very simple loft-style wall lamp made of wood.

Materials and tools:

  • Wooden bracket (available at home stores like IKEA)
  • socket with plug and textile cable;
  • spray paint on wood;
  • old box or newspapers;
  • seals.

Manufacturing technique

Take an unnecessary box or spread newspaper to paint the bracket. It is better to do this with gloves so as not to get dirty. We spray paint over the entire surface. If you are not satisfied with the color saturation after the first painting, leave the part to dry, then cover with a second coat and leave to dry again.

We put a textile wire into the hole in the bracket and make one turn around the bracket. The textile wire is a peculiar highlight of this lamp, but you can take any wire.

We insert the other end of the wire into the cartridge and make the zero and phase wiring in it.

We fix the bracket on the wall with screws or dowel-nails. We screw the pear-shaped bulb into the socket and insert the plug into the socket. How lovely! And in the evening, when these bulbs are the only source of light, they create a romantic mood of a summer evening.

Master class number 4: Lamp with wood veneer

A fantastic pendant lamp made of flexible wood plywood will serve as a decoration for a dining room or bedroom, roundness of shapes and neutrality of color will complement any interior.

Materials and tools:

  • a piece of flexible plywood board (its length determines the height of the chandelier + a small piece for fixing);
  • 2 wooden hoops (hoops of the same or different diameters can be used);
  • stationery or construction clamps;
  • glue gun (hot glue);
  • long ruler;
  • pencil;
  • knife or large scissors.

Lamp manufacturing technology

Step 1: Prepare the chuck mount.

  1. We take a hoop with a smaller diameter and a piece of plywood board. We put the hoop on the board and outline the inner diameter with a pencil.
  2. Cut out a circle (or almost a circle - a piece large enough to secure the lamp).
  3. In the center of the circle, cut out a smaller circle - according to the diameter of the cartridge.
  4. We take hot glue or wood glue and glue the circle with the hoop.

Step 2.

We take the second piece of flexible plywood and fix it on the table for accurate measurements. We take a ruler and pencil and draw parallel lines - approximately 2 cm wide.

But you can make the stripe widths that you like better - narrower or wider, depending on your preference.

We cut the plywood into equal strips. We need 4 extra strips to grip the rims together. These strips will be shorter than the others (almost half as long).

Step 3.

  • Fix 4 short stripes on the lamp... To do this, with one clip we hook one strip on the small hoop on top and the second clip on the bottom on the large hoop.
  • We repeat this procedure on 4 sides, as shown in the photo (in order for the chandelier to be even, the hoop should be located strictly parallel to each other).

Step 4.

  1. We hook the rest of the stripes in the same way, starting with four on all sides, and then filling in the voids between them (this should be done for general symmetry).
  2. The stripes should turn out to be equally curved so that the look of the chandelier resembles a lantern.
  3. The last 2 strips must be left to hide the clips.
  4. We glue them one by one - each according to the diameter of the hoop. It can be glued with an overlap - it will be invisible.

It remains to hang the lamp and fix the holder in the hole. The air lamp is ready!

Handmade wooden lamps perfectly complement the interior, making the atmosphere of the home warmer and more comfortable. Original lamps made of wood have been in great demand lately, becoming a familiar element not only in home furnishings - they can often be found in cafes, restaurants, museums and other public places.

Such a thing can ideally fit into the interior and ennoble it, if you choose the materials that best match the situation.

Material features

Natural wood, in addition to its aesthetic properties, has a number of significant advantages. Products made from it are easy to use and environmentally friendly. When heated, wood does not emit toxic substances, but, on the contrary, has a beneficial effect on people with chronic respiratory diseases, having healing properties. This action is especially characteristic for conifers.

Wood is a material that is malleable enough that in the skilled hands of the master it can acquire exactly the forms that he conceived. Therefore, any creative design ideas come true. Luxurious photos of exclusive wood lamps easily convince you of this.

The material is quite versatile, due to which it can be widely used in almost any type of interior. Interesting configurations and a variety of shapes allow you to organically fit a thing into any style.

Wooden lamps in the interior look soundly and noble, moreover, they perfectly coexist with objects made of various materials: plastic, glass, metal.

Along with the listed advantages, the tree also has disadvantages. It is highly flammable, for this reason, the products should not be placed in rooms in which there are fireplaces, gas stoves and other sources of possible ignition.

The material is very sensitive to changes in temperature and high humidity, therefore it is extremely undesirable to place wooden lamps in a bathroom or kitchen. In addition, wood attracts small pests such as termites and other insects. It is advisable to cover products with special protective compounds that will prevent their appearance and protect the material from deformation.

There are a few simple precautions to take when using an electrical appliance:

  • place the light source at a sufficiently large distance from an open fire (fireplace, stove);
  • remember that rooms with a normal level of humidity and room temperature are considered the best place for placing the device;
  • wooden lamps do not allow the installation of conventional incandescent lamps in them: their heating temperature is too high, it is unsafe; use LED, halogen, fluorescent lamps.

Application in various interiors

The versatility of wood lamps allows them to be used in the design of a wide variety of rooms, regardless of style. They are most appropriate in the setting of a country house, decorated in country style, Provence, oriental styles. The combination of natural simplicity with sophistication is the most valuable quality of wood.

Original semi-antique lamps made of wood are in great demand in retro styles. Often they are made in the form of wheels from a cart, lamps in the form of candles are located around the circumference. This design is usually used in restaurants, bars, hotels.

Ceiling models look great in large rooms and living rooms, bringing luxury and elegance to the interior. Spot luminaire options are relevant for small rooms, especially if they have low ceilings.

Lamps of simple shapes, without any frills, are suitable for country style. They may look a little rough, but they will create a feeling of unity with nature and will organically fit into the space without clashing with other objects.

The oriental style requires the use of solid wood, welcomes clear forms and lines, complemented by oriental motifs.

Retro is characterized by classic options or more original models stylized as antiques.

The classic makes it possible to use stained glass; a lampshade for a lamp can be made from it; wooden structures have smooth, streamlined shapes.

Hi-tech allows you to create original designs by combining wood with metal, frosted glass and other materials.

How to make a lamp out of wood with your own hands

Of course, by ordering a product in special workshops, you will receive a perfectly made, polished product. However, if you have experience with wood, you can try to create an exclusive thing yourself from the material that is available to you.

Do-it-yourself wooden lamps are made from:

  • branches;
  • boards;
  • bark;
  • cuts;
  • logs;
  • veneer.

If you have an idea that you can't wait to implement, feel free to start. To begin with, the wood must be prepared by treating with protective solutions and impregnations, and wait until it dries completely.

This stage is mandatory: an unprocessed piece will not last long. Then the structure is assembled and fastened. We invite you to try out several original options.

Driftwood lamp

This creative idea does not require much effort and cost to implement - use the driftwood found in the forest under your feet. They are exclusive in themselves: every twist of the branch is unique. All you need to do is find a suitable specimen, remove bark and excess wood, then dry thoroughly. For drying, a ventilated place away from direct sunlight is suitable.

After complete drying, it is necessary to sand the snag well with sandpaper. Determine the side to be fixed to the ceiling. Use a blade to make grooves on it in which you will lay the wires. At the end of the work with the wires, the holes must be carefully putty, and then treated with wood stain the putty in the color of the tree.

Cartridges are attached to the ends of the driftwood, you can think of various ways to attach them. At the end, treat the wood with varnish. It is necessary to lay several layers with each drying. Choose an acrylic or waterproof varnish.

In a similar way, you can also design a table lamp or sconce - a driftwood will serve as an excellent basis. This idea is easy to implement, even if you do not have carpentry skills.

Chandelier made of branches

Gather carefully selected small branches so that some of them are located perpendicular to the ceiling. Next, you need to fix the plafonds at the ends of the branches, and carefully wrap the wires around them. You can use real rhizome instead of twigs if you're lucky enough to find one in the forest.

Find and implement your own ideas - the tree gives you a lot of opportunities to experiment using your imagination. You will be rewarded for your creative impulses by receiving an author's product that will become an interior decoration.

Photo of lamps made of wood

A kitchen with one sad, but very economical light bulb in the middle of the ceiling has been waiting for its lamp for a couple of years, which we, as usual, conceived to make with our own hands. In addition to this idea, there were a couple of different ideas in my head: a lamp made of ropes or bottles, a lamp made of cups or twigs, or maybe made of veneer or clay? In short, it didn’t work out well with the lighting of the kitchen. True, there was a vintage 60s lampshade hanging above the desk.

Then, having seen enough of the Scandinavian interiors, we caught fire with branches and snags. We decided that one must necessarily hang on the ceiling in the kitchen, especially since we dream of wooden kitchen furniture. No sooner said than done. Because finding a snag is not easy and protracted.

In search of suitable trees, we wandered along the banks of several rivers (Latoritsa, Southern Bug, Zbruch, Dnieper and Desyonka), roamed the forests and puzzled friends who love hiking. And then we found our future wooden lamp to the nearest park and right in the middle of the central alley :)

Long-awaited find

Satisfied with the long-awaited find, we returned home and ... were at a loss, because doubts fell upon us. What will it look like? "And what would people say?" (Ukrainian). But what about hanging such a lamp if there is no planned kitchen furniture?

In short, our branch first became an item of interior design and special pride, and then it was slightly shortened, because part of it went to the children for a wooden loto with animals. How so? And like this: an unknown animal began to gnaw a branch :) I had to cut off a part, and then - it was not - they made a loto from another piece of a branch. There remained a snag, not touched by the beast, and just the right length.

A year has passed and here our beloved “The village” writes to us, they say, let's cooperate. We wanted it so much! But we have nothing fresh and appropriate to their theme. Well, in fact, I will not do a master class for “The village” about sewing a felt giraffe :) What can we offer? Of course, the long-awaited driftwood lamp. This is mainstream and Scandinavia! We discuss this idea with the editor, she agrees and we begin work on the lamp from the branch with our own hands.

Everything could be done simply and quickly, but we are not looking for easy ways, so we go back to the forest. This time we need some thinner branches to make wooden cases for the lamp holders. Fortunately, we find a fallen and dried tree quickly, combining a pleasant find with a useful walk of the younger generation.

While the children are sleeping ...

Suitable branch

All the necessary materials for a lamp from a branch:

A large dry branch, a wire, plastic sockets E-14, energy-saving bulbs with a similar base, a thin metal mounting cable, clips for it, dry branches with a diameter of 3.5 centimeters, small nails (about 10 pcs.), Wood screws (2 short , 1 long), square board (8 x 8 x 2 centimeters), white acrylic paint, acrylic varnish, masking tape. Saw, drill (engraver), drill, soldering iron, pliers, screwdriver.

DIY kit :)

And now the very process of creating a wooden lamp with your own hands:

1. We clean the remnants of the bark on the branch with sandpaper. We leave some places untouched to give a natural look.

Sanding the branch with sandpaper

2. Mark on the branch a place for drilling holes for wires. Also, at the top of the branch, draw a line along which we will make a groove for the wire.

How to make a lamp with your own hands from wood?

Advantages and disadvantages of wooden structures

This type of construction has the following advantages:

  • if the candles are evenly placed, then the design will give the same illumination of all elements of the room;
  • the knitting needles will practically not obstruct the light.

Modern stylizations have the same advantages, but today lamps are used instead of wax candles and torches. In most cases, such designs are made in the shape of a candle.

Wood structures have the following advantages:

Scheme of a round wooden lamp: 1 - segments for the rim, 2 - turned spoke, 3 - hub.

  1. The material is environmentally friendly. It will not only not emit harmful substances, but will also saturate the air with aromatic resins that make it easier for people to breathe.
  2. The tree can be easily processed. If special tools are needed for the production of a plastic or metal structure, then do-it-yourself lamps from wood can be made using a minimum set of fixtures.

Disadvantages of wooden structures:

  1. Wood is a combustible material. It is not recommended to place elements made of this material near incandescent lamps. If the contact in the lamp holder burns out, the structure may catch fire.
  2. Lamps made of wood for the ceiling are attacked by bugs, fungi and other pests. Conifers are the least affected by rot and pests. For hardwoods, it is recommended to use antiseptic agents that can reduce the flammability of the material.
  3. Wood is a hygroscopic material. It absorbs moisture from the air, as a result of which, during the drying process, the material can change its volume, shape or crack. In order for the structure to serve for a long time, it will be necessary to provide it with a constant temperature and humidity.

Nuances to consider when making wooden structures

In the process of constructing lamps made of wood, the following nuances must be taken into account:

Assembly diagram of a luminaire from wooden rings.

  1. Structures should be of such a shape that all heating elements are removed from devices that are made of wood. The lamps must be facing upwards, as only then the rising air flow will not cause deformation of the tree.
  2. Fire safety rules prohibit placing wood chandeliers under flammable elements.
  3. A wood light fixture is great for a bedroom or living room. In a kitchen or bathroom, where there is a sufficiently large amount of steam, such structures are not allowed to be placed.

In the event of a phase shortage, an electric shock can be easily obtained.

Making a lamp in the shape of a coffee service

To make a lamp with your own hands, you will need to prepare the following elements:

Diagram of a LED wood lamp.

  1. Dry board made of wood of any kind. You can use either pine or birch or ash. Oak is also suitable, which does not need to be painted or varnished.
  2. Several translucent coffee cups and saucers for them.
  3. Several holders for a small base with fasteners for them.
  4. The required number of bulbs. In this case, it is recommended to use LED elements.
  5. A small amount of rubber gaskets. Their number will depend on how the cartridges are secured.
  6. Two-core copper wire of small cross-section and short length. It is best to use a wire with a cross section of 0.75 mm.
  7. Light chain or twisted cord. These elements will be used to secure the product to the ceiling structure.
  8. Required number of ring screws. The luminaire will be suspended using these elements.
  9. Electric drill.
  10. Drills for working with wood and tiles.
  11. Pliers.
  12. Screwdriver or screwdriver.

The manufacturing process of the structure is as follows:

  1. The planed board is processed with sandpaper (first coarse, then fine).
  2. Next, you need to drill several holes in those places where you plan to place the cartridges.
  3. If noble types of wood are used, then the material will not need to be processed in the future. If other types of wood are used, then the material must be stained, then dried and varnished in several layers. In the open air, nitro lacquer will dry for several hours, so this process will not take much time.

  1. In the next step, you will need to drill holes in the coffee cups and saucers, while it is very important not to damage them. In this case, you only need to use a drill for working with glass and tiles. Great effort is not allowed. You need to drill at a low speed, in the process you need to make sure that there are no distortions. If you press hard on the electric drill, the bowl or saucer may crack.
  2. Wires must be attached to all available sockets. At this stage, you should not fasten them to each other.
  3. The whole structure is screwed into a single whole. If the cartridges will use pads with holes for fasteners, then they must be pulled to the board through the holes in saucers or cups. If there is a threaded pipe and nut on the end of the chuck, then they must be passed through the cups, saucers and board. It is imperative to install rubber gaskets between metal and glass elements. Such a device can be made independently from an unused camera from a bicycle or car.
  4. Screws with rings will need to be screwed into the back of the board.
  5. The cartridges are connected in parallel. You do not need to leave twists that are wrapped in electrical tape. Even the part of the lamp that no one can see must be done carefully. To fasten the wires, you will need to use a block.
  6. The block must be fixed on the back of the board by any method: a small amount of adhesive mixture or screws. In it, you need to clamp a piece of wire that will be connected to the wiring.
  7. On the back, chains or cords are attached to the rings. The other end of these elements is attached to a hook in the ceiling. The wire must be run along any of the circuits. At the end, you need to install the bulbs.

Plywood lace construction

Tools for making a wooden lamp.

It should be noted that this design is not ideal in terms of fire safety. However, in this case, LED luminaires are used, which are economical. It should be remembered that such devices practically do not heat up. Therefore, the risk of fire in this case is excluded.

From plywood of small thickness using a hand jigsaw, you can make masterpieces of applied art. You can make such lamps with your own hands as follows:

  1. First of all, you need to grind a sheet of plywood.
  2. Using copy paper, you need to transfer the drawing of the parts.
  3. Structural elements will need to be cut along the contour.
  4. Holes will need to be drilled inside each of the pieces to be removed. In this case, it is recommended to use a drill with a thickness of 1 mm.
  5. The next step is to cut out the inner parts.
  6. You will need to clean the edges of the structure with small files of various shapes.
  7. Next, you need to fasten all the elements together. For this, it is recommended to use an adhesive mixture. It should be noted that PVA glue may turn yellow after a while. Therefore, it is best to use a special adhesive solution for wood. Remains of the adhesive mixture on visible parts of the structure will need to be carefully removed.
  8. At the end, the product should be varnished.

If you plan to use incandescent lamps, then remember that their power should be less than 40 watts.

They need to be placed as far as possible from wood elements. This is the only way to avoid overheating of the luminaire.

Other options for wooden fixtures

You can make other lamps with your own hands:

  1. Plank and rope construction. In this case, several matt shades are used as light sources. There is nothing difficult in the manufacture of such a design. It should be noted that in this case only energy-saving or LED bulbs should be used. High power incandescent lamps often cause fires.
  2. Bars with pots. In order to drill the bottoms of the pots, you should use a tile drill. In this case, it is not allowed to install incandescent lamps of any power.
  3. A severed log with spotlights. It should be borne in mind that it is difficult to hollow out the product.

It is quite simple to make lamps from wood with your own hands. You just need to show your imagination and prepare all the elements that will be needed to make the structure.

Modern interior design consists not only in correctly arranged stylish furniture and colors that prevail in the premises, but also in competent lighting. Lighting devices allow you to focus on certain areas of the room, visually enlarge the space, or, conversely, give the bedroom or living room more comfort and warmth.

Today, crystal wall sconces are no longer a sign of wealth and luxury, but wooden lamps are actively returning their former popularity. Few people know that in the 16th century it was tree structures that were installed in temples, palaces and houses of wealthy officials. Of course, there was no LED lighting in those days, and instead of energy-saving lamps, the premises were lit with candles placed on wooden branches.

In 2010, a tornado struck New York City, leaving behind mountains of broken branches and collapsed trees. Young designers Harris Hine and Amily Visclocky wanted to draw public attention to the topic by creating lamps from found snags, and instead revived a long-forgotten style. Thanks to this idea, more and more people began to engage in such know-how and you, too, can easily create unique sconces (wall lamps) with your own hands. Photos of ready-made and interesting lighting devices can be found in huge quantities on the Internet, but we will announce some of the features of such structures later.

Advantages and disadvantages of wooden sconces

In addition to the stylish appearance, such lamps can be safely called environmentally friendly. Not only does the tree not emit any harmful substances, it also, on the contrary, will saturate the air of the room with useful aromatic resins that make breathing easier. Another plus is the ease of processing the material. If special equipment is used for the production of plastic and metal structures, then for a wooden lamp you will need tools that are in almost every home.

Wood is durable and durable, especially if it is treated with special impregnations.

If we talk about the shortcomings of such designs, then you should pay attention to the following nuances:

  • The tree burns excellently, therefore, it is not recommended to use incandescent lamps in such designs. Otherwise, the contact in the lamp socket may burn out and the entire lamp will flash up in a matter of seconds.
  • Insects actively attack such lighting products.
  • Wood is a hygroscopic material. This means that it accumulates and absorbs moisture well. So that the structure does not deform and serve for many years, it is better to use such a lamp at a constant temperature and humidity. Based on this, it is possible to hang a sconce above the bed in the bedroom, but it is not recommended to install such lighting fixtures in the kitchen or in the bathroom.

Healthy! Cedar is the most moisture resistant species, and additional processing with special solutions will give it even more resistance to temperature extremes and moisture.

As you can see, before working with wood, you need to prepare a project for the future lamp and calculate it in such a way that the lamps are located at a distance from the tree. Consider several options for such sconces and ceiling chandeliers.

Wood construction options

Sconces in the interior of the living room, the photos of which are presented in the article, look very cozy and home-like. For this room, you can create a very stylish lamp that can be mounted on the wall or used as a table lamp.

One of the options for creating a lamp is a sconce made of wood and a broken water pump. The resulting result looks very stylish and is suitable for design lovers, in which there are unusual devices that are not used for their intended purpose.

An unusual lamp will turn out from the floor of a dried tree trunk, covered with varnish, and pieces of colored crystal glued to it. This lighting fixture can be hung horizontally, vertically or used as a floor lamp-night light.

A stylish Chinese lantern can be crafted from a broken lamp, bamboo, and coconut rope. This is a fairly simple design that looks very impressive both in the house and on the porch or in the gazebo. By attaching a wooden hook to the bamboo, you get a multifunctional sconce that you can hang plants on.

Do-it-yourself wood sconces can be made very simply. To do this, you need a wooden plank that can be shaped to any shape. A kind of crank will be attached to it, on which the lamp will be placed. It will require sticks of the same diameter and length, which we will fold according to the principle of a wooden well or a house, which children usually fold from pencils. The result is an unusual lamp, as if from old fairy tales.

Creative light can be made from pine branch, garland and curtain rod holder. Such a device is also distinguished by its versatility, since you can hang jewelry, scarves and much more on the branches. The lights of the garland do not heat up, so such a sconce will not light up, and to create it, you do not need any skills in conducting electricity.

A wall lamp for a nursery can be made from a wooden plank in the shape of a cloud and LED lamps. The resulting night light looks very nice on the wall, as the light is scattered as if from under a cloud.

By connecting your imagination, you can make a very creative lamp for a country house, apartment or garden. You can use everything that, as it seemed to you, has not been used for many years and is practically preparing for a "release".

What to look for when creating a lamp

  • Always wear a face shield when cutting wood. Sawdust can cause an allergic reaction.
  • If there is only one light bulb in the lamp, then two wires will go from it. The phase is connected to a switch, from which the conductor will go to the input phase. Zero (blue) is connected immediately to the leading zero.
  • If there are 2 or more lamps in the luminaire, then there will be more wires, and the connection principle will remain the same.

The optimal position of the sconce depends on the type of room, for example:

  • The height of the sconce above the bed in the bedroom should be 1.2-1.6 meters from the floor.
  • In the nursery, it is better to place the lamp so that the child cannot reach the light bulb.
  • It is recommended to place it in the corridor at a height of 2 meters from the floor. If the ceilings are low, then you can hang the sconce lower - at a distance of 1.8 meters.
  • The optimal height of the sconce for the living room is 1.3-1.4 meters from the floor.
