The biggest problem with upgrading the ELC AMX is the car that comes before it - the AMX 40. This piece of retro-futurism can fray even the most relaxed player, but such is the fate of a Francotankist - to suffer at the 4th level in order to start wildly annealing at 5- m.

The ELC AMX is an outstanding tank, and like anything outstanding it has not only outstanding advantages, but also noticeable disadvantages. We will talk about all this, for a start, noting what will allow us to compensate for the shortcomings.
Let's start, contrary to tradition, with the shortcomings.

It doesn't look very promising, but let's take a look at the merits:
extremely small size and low profile, in order to get into us, you have to try;
high speed (65 km / h), excellent maneuverability and excellent dynamics;
bonus to stealth due to size and class;
a weapon with a crazy level 5 average damage and impressive armor penetration.
There is one more feature that cannot be directly attributed to either pluses or minuses - this is a crew of only 2 people, a commander (who is truly a master of all trades in this tank) and a mechanic drive. And since we have only 2 people in our crew, this means that they will quickly gain experience in the elite state of the tank. But at the same time, this means that if a commander is concussed to us, we will suffer greatly in all the characteristics of the vehicle. Another problem is that on the next tank in the branch, AMX 12t, there are already 3 tankers and we won't be able to simply transplant our experienced comrades without suffering from their incompetence, because we will have to take an untrained newbie.

So, the first conspicuous drawback is the low level of durability, only some 400 units. For one shot SU-100, but then how the VBR decides. In fact, ELC AMX has only 2 states in the game: either it burns with napalm, or it is destroyed. And since the third is not given to us, let's burn. Therefore, a beginner "tree-grower" must learn not to go under attack. In fact, it's very easy not to get hit - it's enough just to sit at the base in the bushes for the whole battle, but this doesn't fit with our combat mission, and it doesn't bring any pleasure from the game. Therefore, we will have to learn not to be substituted by hook or by crook. Our wonderful speed and maneuverability will play the role of truth, disguise and the ability to hide behind the mighty backs of our allies in the role of untruth. Playing on the ELC AMX is one of the most severe survival schools in the game, and the acquired skills will greatly help us in the future on any dynamic lightly armored vehicle.
As for the view, its radius can be effectively increased with the help of additional modules - coated optics and a stereo tube. Low visibility will allow us to shine from bushes with a streamer, and good mobility, coupled with enlightened optics, will make us a great active firefly.
The spread of the top gun is again compensated for either by speed or by stealth. We can fly at the enemy and shoot at a very close distance, without stopping to aim, or stand in a comfortable position and aim at an enemy who does not even see us.
Thus, summing up the above, we get a balanced machine capable of solving various tasks on the battlefield. We will move on to a more detailed consideration of this issue.

The role of the ELC AMX on the battlefield.

Our tank is quite versatile and capable of solving various combat missions. ELC AMX can be both a firefly and a killer, but this killer is very specific. Let's start with the role of the firefly.
There is an opinion that the ELC AMX is a bad firefly. The low viewing radius and weak radio allegedly do not allow this vehicle to conduct effective reconnaissance. However, we should not forget that we also have speed, agility and stealth. In fact, the ELC AMX perfectly suits both the role of active light and the role of passive - of course, with the installation of coated optics and a stereo tube. By the way, this is exactly how I ride, because you never know in advance which map you will end up on and what tasks you will have to perform.
So, let's formulate a number of rules for playing as a firefly:
1. Due to the small radius of view, the active light on the ELC AMX consists in sufficient proximity to the enemy to detect it. That is, our tank must constantly move, trying to detect the enemy and not get hit. It is strictly forbidden to stop and make sharp maneuvers, so it is strongly recommended to study all the bumps and turns on the maps. Any careless movement - and we break into a drift or lose tracks as a result of a fall. After that, we usually don't live long. For ELC AMX, it is generally extremely useful to pump over disguise, and when playing as a light, this is simply necessary. We shouldn't be distracted by seemingly available goals either - unless we casually shoot at someone who turns up along the way, not getting very upset if we fail to hit. If a fast firefly sits on your tail, it will be extremely difficult to drop it - do not hesitate to quit the current combat mission and rush at full steam to the nearest cluster of allies, it is very likely that they will help you. Do not try to stop to sort things out with enemy fireflies - it will end fatally.
2. If the map is replete with convenient bushes, we must occupy one of them - the one that is closer to the enemy's movement zone, and shine using a stereo tube. In this case, we must accustom ourselves not to attack even very tasty targets, because if we hit the light, we will die very quickly. You can only finish off single goals if we are sure that nothing threatens us. If you are spotted, immediately leave the position (it is better to think in advance where you will retreat in case of spotting).
“But how is it,” you say, “sitting in the bushes for the whole battle or cutting circles on the map is boring! Bend over to us, bend over! " Well, the "tree" can bend too. It should not be forgotten that, by its very nature, the ELC AMX is a tank destroyer. And the top gun confirms this in every possible way.

Judge for yourself - the average damage is 240 and the penetration is 170 mm, and all this is at the 5th level! You have to pay with a recharge of about 12 seconds, a huge spread and an extremely long mixing. Such a weapon at its level (and the level of battles of the "Christmas tree" has now become from 5 to 9) allows us to play the role of TD as well. Everything is standard here - we stand in a comfortable position, preferably hidden by bushes, and target available opponents. If you decide to play the ELC AMX exactly as a PT, do not forget to install a rammer and mixing drives as modules. The third option is a masket, a stereo tube, or improved ventilation.
As for the active conduct of hostilities, then everything is much more fun. The fact is that there are no medium distances for the "Christmas tree": we are fighting either at a long distance, where the enemy does not see us, and we calmly aim, or at close range, where the influence of our spread is not so noticeable. At an average distance, we are extremely vulnerable, because they can see us, and in order to confidently hit the target, we need to stop and converge for almost 3 seconds. The usual shooting tactics on the ELC AMX are as follows: the "tree" at full speed goes to the maximum approach to the enemy tank, shoots and immediately turns to the side. The classic tactics "hit and run" - do not try to finish off the enemy and do not play skirmishes, fly further to another target. If you try to immediately return to the just attacked target again, it is very likely that they will already be waiting for you with the bread and salt land mine in the gun. The usual tactics of hunting enemy artillery on the ELC AMX, which are common on other fireflies, are far from always justified - we cannot stop and cannot circle the artillery. But nothing prevents us from effectively illuminating this artillery.

Attack on the move

In fact, combat on the ELC AMX includes all of the techniques described above. As a rule, we start the battle with active or passive light, a little PT from the bushes, and in the middle of the battle we begin to actively irritate the remaining opponents. The ELC AMX could very well do 1200+ damage and allow the team to inflict 2000+ more in their exposure.
Additional modules.
The first module badly needed by the ELC AMX is the gun rammer. The reload speed of the top gun is too slow, and installing the rammer gives a tangible gain in the rate of fire. Further, for effective detection of opponents, you should install coated optics and a stereo tube. This set represents the golden mean between all the possible roles of our "Christmas tree" and gives us the freedom to improvise on the battlefield, depending on the situation, so I play it in this configuration.
We can install any other sets of modules depending on how we want to play. For example, playing the PT, we will put a rammer, aiming drives and either a stereo tube, or a mask network, or ventilation. For active light, we will put enlightened optics, ventilation and reinforced torsion bars so that the tracks do not fly off during a careless jump. But the problem is that we never know what situation we will get into in advance, so it is better to take a set that will give us flexibility and versatility. However, I recommend trying several variants of the game and choosing the one that suits you best.

And which of us is PT?

Crew skills.
First of all, you need to download the disguise for both crew members. The less we are noticed, the longer we will live. After the disguise finishes and the 2nd skill begins to swing, the commander must reset the learned skills and be the first to choose the "Sixth Sense" (picking up the moment when this skill, taking into account the retraining penalty, we will receive in 100% quality). Thus, we will be quite well disguised and, at the same time, aware of whether the enemy sees us or not. This is important for any tank, but for a tank with 400 HP and no armor, it is doubly important. Further, the mechanic should train skills for mobility and maneuverability ("King of the off-road", "Virtuoso"), and the commander - for review ("Radio interception", "Eagle eye"). The rest of the skills are not so important, if you wish and have the opportunity, choose what you like best. For example, for the PT style, you can select "Sniper" and "Expert". The repair should not be downloaded, since an ELC AMX with a knocked down track is either instantly repaired with a repair kit, or only lives for a couple of seconds.

Equipment.

Here you need to take a repair kit, a first aid kit and 100-octane gasoline. Gasoline will increase our momentum, which will be critically important for us, whose life always depends on mobility. A fire extinguisher does not make much sense, we will rarely burn, and as a rule, only when the situation for us in any case has become hopeless, and extinguishing the fire will no longer save us from the next enemy strike.

We immediately conclude that open duels are contraindicated for us. The ELC AMX has vanishingly thin 14mm armor on the forehead, 12mm on the sides and 10mm on the karma. Even for tier 1 guns, this armor will not be an obstacle. We also have the lowest visibility compared to our level 5 counterparts, only 360 m with a 100% crew, not very much, because the big-eyed Chafee sees 40 m further. Due to its modest weight, not exceeding 8 tons, the accelerating dynamics of the AMX is quite comparable to the T-50-2, right up to the maximum speed. True, then it still realizes its advantage, however, in the turning speed, it is significantly inferior to us, despite the twisted speed regulator, and only the dexterous Chafee is ahead of the Frenchman in agility, in addition, the ground resistance has less effect on us than on his classmates. As a result, we can safely say that the ELC AMX is one of the most dynamic tanks in the World of Tanks game.

Throwing to another point on the map and helping another group of the team will help you earn training points and a little extra silver.

"Anti-aircraft" maneuver

The movement of the tank in a straight line gives the enemy the opportunity to shoot you. Why give him such pleasure? Especially, ELC AMX just designed for sharp turns, or rather sharp turns.
