Specialization: Professional in the field of construction and repair (full cycle of finishing works, both internal and external, from sewage to electrician and finishing), installation of window structures. Hobbies: Watch Column "Specialization and Skills"

Waterproofing tape for PVC windows, as well as other materials for installation, are applied relatively rarely: their use increases the cost of work, since a set of high-quality mounting tapes for setting one design costs about 15 - 25% of the total window.

And yet, if you plan to glazing the house "for yourself", the use of modern materials is not only possible, but also need. That is why I decided to write a small review dedicated to the assembly tapes, their appointment and proper use.

Appointment of mounting tapes

If approach from a formal point of view, then use special vapor-permeable and vapor barrier materials for the installation of PVC structures is primarily necessary for the requirements of industry standards. The use of ribbons is governed by such documents:

  • GOST R 53338-2009 "Ribbons vapor-permeable self-sewing self-adhesive construction purposes";
  • GOST 30971-2012 "Seams mounting units of window blocks to wall openings. General specifications ";
  • GOST R 52749-2007 "Sewage mounting window with vapor-permeable self-sewing ribbons."

That is, the installation of windows according to GOS without using ribbons is not possible in principle. But there are rational explanations for the need to apply such materials. Some of them are stated in the already mentioned GOSTs, and part can be formulated by relying on many years of montage, repair and operation of translucent structures:

  1. To seal the junction between the window and window opening, a self-insulating mounting foam based on liquid polyurethane is used. Despite the presence of a number of objective advantages, there are foams and disadvantages - first of all it is a vulnerability to ultraviolet.
  2. To protect the foam from UV radiation, a self-adhesive tape is used, which overlaps the mounting seam outside.

  1. The next aspect that substantiates the need to use special tapes for installation is ventilation, or rather, the liquid's lead. When operating the windows without additional protection, which is formed in the room, is partially assembled inside the mounting seam, reducing the efficiency of heat resistant. To avoid it, a vapor insulation material can be used for the tile of it from the inside.
  2. However, it is important not only to protect the foam against moisture ingress, but also to ensure the unobstructed yield of water vapor beyond the mounting seam. For this, an exclusively vapor-permeable ribbon is used for the outer decoration, which guarantees the normal diffusion of wet air. .

The question of whether to glue a vapor insulation tape or use vapor-permeable material is largely discussion. On the one hand, the effectiveness of these materials is indeed high enough, therefore the use of them in the installation will clearly affect the functionality of the window in the best way.

On the other hand, the price of the mounting ribbons is also rather big, therefore, for savings, you can choose other techniques: from the inside, for example, install the slope from the plastic (in principle, it provides good hydro and vaporizolation), and from the outside - to separate the installation seam with steam-permeable plaster with the subsequent color .

And yet I will repeat: the use of special tapes when installing the window design in the opening is quite justified and from the point of view of standards, and in terms of climate optimization in the room.

Materials varieties

Type 1. Hydro-Paracolation Tape

For the installation of PVC windows uses a variety of tapes. Each type of such material has its own characteristics and advantages, because to achieve the maximum effect, materials should be combined, combining their functional advantages in the best possible way.

I will start your overview of materials used when installing windows, from the most popular - with a hydropara insulating tape:

  1. Self-adhesive hydropara insulating mounting tape (GPL) is a ribbon material that overlaps the mounting gap from the room side.
  2. The base of the tape is polyethylene or polyethylene film. On the one hand, the bar is laminated by a thin layer of aluminum foil, and on the other, one or two strips of glue for installation are applied.
  3. The glue mixture used for application provides good adhesion to most materials - wood, concrete, brick, etc. Problems may occur when you try to save the opening of gas or foam concrete, therefore, before buying an assembly material, I recommend consulting with the seller or carefully examine that the instruction from the manufacturer speaks .
  4. The structure of the ribbon provides almost complete tightness of the plated mounting seam: nor the place of the gluing, nor the polyethylene band itself passes the air and the pair of water.

  1. The polymer structure provides a product and additional advantages: the finishing material is not afraid of not only moisture, but also the effects of acids, alkalis, other chemically active substances, and also does not degrade under the influence of ultraviolet.

Type 2. Ribbon Hydro-Priced Insulated

Insulated tape is, in fact, the modification of the conventional hydrocariozing material. Its key features can be attributed to:

  • increased base thickness, which is made exclusively from foamed polyethylene;
  • a more dense foil layer based on a solid polypropylene film.

Thanks to such features of the design:

  1. The product is not worse than the diffusion of liquid and water vapor and the penetration of moisture in the middle part of the mounting seam. Thereby ensures the most efficient hydro and vaporizolation.
  2. An increased thickness of the base and its porous structure helps to reduce heat loss. Polyethylene foamed in the role of the window insulation.
  3. Finally, a foil coating plays an important role. The thin layer of metal on the elastic base reflects infrared radiation, performing the function of the "heat mirror". At the same time, most of the heat generated by heating devices returns to the room.

By the cons of such products, I would include their fairly large dimensions: finishing the mounting gap with insulated ribbons requires the subsequent masking of the adjoining assembly using slopes, which is not always included in our plans.

Type 3. Pre-compressed tape (psul)

Another universal material - psyms (pre-compressed sealing tape). This material is used to independently suspending the assembly seam:

  1. The tape is a strip of porous polyurethane foam, impregnated with a special composition. On the one hand, the strip is equipped with a glue layer protected by a special safety coating.
  2. The product is supplied in a twisted form (rolls or reels). It is necessary to unwind the material immediately before installation, because over time the product loses its properties.
  3. When installing, the protective coating is removed and the pips passes onto the window structure. After that, the impregnation reacts with air, due to which the linear dimensions of the product increase. The tape expands and completely overlaps the mounted gap.

Full and high-quality overlap is possible only if the nominal size of the product specified by the manufacturer corresponds to the gap dimensions. So, for example, if I need my own hands to close the gap of 35 mm, then I take the psyrals with a width of about 40 mm.

  1. After expansion, the material becomes completely vaporuminous. Due to this, the unobstructed output of water from the mounting seam is ensured.

Type 4. Internal Ribbons

In addition to these varieties, other products are used for the interior decoration of slopes. Their main features are conveniently analyzed by the table that I will give below:

Marking Description
Sun The product that is used to mount window structures, if you plan to finish the slopes with a dry way (plasterboard, plastic, lining, etc.).

Provides efficient vapor barrier, prevents moisture in the thickness of the mounting seam.

Installation of the tape is carried out due to the self-adhesive layer with a protective coating.

Sun +. It is used for the same goals as the tape of the Sun, but it has a greater thickness.

An additional advantage is the presence of a folgized layer providing more efficient vapor and thermal insulation.

Vm Hydro and vapor insulation material, which is used if plaster decoration of slopes from the inside of the window opening.

We protect the mounting foam against moisture ingress, while ensuring maximum adhesion to the plastering.

VM +. A more efficient variety of the previous product is applied for the same purposes. A key feature is increased resistance to moisturizing.

Other types of mounting ribbons

In addition to the products described above, tapes and other types are used to mount translucent structures:

  1. Diffusion tape for outdoor decoration. It is used in combination with cops or with mounting foam. Provides protection of the mounting seam from moisture and ultraviolet with simultaneous preservation of vapor permeability. The finishing of the adjustment node diffuse material allows you to preserve the natural level of ventilation: from the middle part of the mounting clearance, the air will be freely outwarded out.

  1. Butiliker assembling tape under the windowsill. As the name implies, it is used to seal the adjoining assembly under the subscal board and protect the insulation from purging, moisture and heat loss. Like other materials from this category, the installation is carried out using a self-adhesive layer.
  2. Non-woven material for installation. It has high records of vapor permeability, paste on the waterproof under the waterfront plank. In addition to ensuring ventilation, significantly reduces the noise of tints from galvanized metal, speaking as a shock absorber and quenching some of the loud sounds.
  3. Adhesive tape - universal material, which is used for mounting light designs. For example, a reflective film on self-tier uses popularity, and a mosquito net with a fastening ribbon is also very convenient to operate.

How to use right?

Technology of applying installation years when installing windows from the PVC profile is quite simple. I use the following algorithm of work:

  1. First I cook the opening: I remove the old design, align the walls, dust and dry all the surfaces. It is desirable that the edge edges are more or less smooth, therefore, before mounting the window, it may be necessary to refine them using a rapidly hardening solution.
  2. Then I carry out the cutting of the hydro-insulating tapes, pips and diffuse material. Products cut along the length of each side of the window with at least 10 cm (these sections are used to form an angular joint).

  1. Ribbons stick to the window frame, removing a protective film with one of the adhesive strips. On the front surface of the construction outside sticking cops in a compressed state.

It is desirable that the pips completely hid behind a wall fence, therefore, before sticking, I usually try on the window to the imaging, making marks at the installation site.

  1. I install the design in the opening and fix it with the selected method - either with the help of anchors or by the help of mounting plates.

  1. All gaps fill the mounting foam of self-seeping polyurethane.
  2. I remove the protective strips from the inner and outer ribbon and sticking their edges to the imaging, completely overlapping the foam.
  3. If the installation is performed in winter, using specialized materials with glue, preserving adhesion ability at negative temperatures.

  1. Before mounting additional elements, separately glue to the coaching profile or the bottom of the frame, the material protecting the space under the windowsill and under the waterfront plank.
  2. Under the horizontal surface itself, sticking the strip of the pits: it acts as a shock absorber, and therefore the metal visor will not rattle with the bins of the wind and getting droplets of the rain.

Cost of materials

As I noted at the very beginning, the high price of the mounting tapes partially limits their distribution. But at the same time, if you exactly know what you need - there is a chance to meet the screeching of the budget.

Conclusion

And vapor-permeable, and vapor barrier tape for plastic windows may not enter the mandatory set of parts for the successful installation. But their use allows you to fully comply with the requirements of GOST. And also ensure the formation of a favorable microclimate in the room - primarily due to the normalization of the assembly seam.

You will help to master the technology of using such parts in this article, and when choosing a product you can consult with me and other experts, asking questions in the comments.

To protect the mounting seams in window openings from moisture exposure, a vaporizolation tape is used. It is made of butyl rubber or aluminum. This material is glued to the wet mounting foam on the seams, extending the operating time of windows.

When installing the window in the opening, remember that its service life is associated with how literate will be installation. Even the highest quality designs will not be operated for a long time if the installation is made incorrectly. Due to incorrectly performed, moisture will gradually penetrate the walls, leading to the destruction of building materials and the spread of mold.

Vaporizolation ribbon.

Conducting work on the installation of the frame, consider several important points:

  • On the inside of the room, we make a more dense layer of the assembly solution (for example, foam).
  • For high-quality sealing of all gaps, we apply three-layer protection - the outer material saves from the effects of precipitation, the average layer is responsible for thermal insulation, and the coating of the inner surface is for vaporizolation.

Parosolation ensures reliable protection of the heat-insulating layer from condensate, which is present not only in the bathroom, but also in the usual room. In the process of finishing the window slopes, we stick a special tape. The principle of vapor barrier is based on the overlap of moisture contact with the mounting foam forming the average protective layer. For these purposes, materials with low elasticity and bandwidth for water and air are suitable. When installing windows on vaporizolation, it is impossible to save. Such neglect will lead to rapid wear of the frames, plaster and finishing materials.

Special vapor insulation tapes are usually used to protect the seam. They are produced in the form of a rolled spiral and compressed material similar to a sponge. Binding moisture, the material swells, closeing all the existing gaps. A vapor barrier tape for plastic windows has a number of advantages:

  1. 1. Isolates moisture;
  2. 2. Consumable economically, almost without waste;
  3. 3. Does not highlight poisonous substances;
  4. 4. Easily pasted;
  5. 5. It has a long service life.

2 Classification - What features to pay attention

Tapes for insulation from moisture are produced with one and two strips of glue. The second option allows you to handle the joints of the window with a wall better. The material is classified by period of use:

  • summer (air temperature - 5-40 ° C);
  • winter (temperature - below 5 ° C).

Depending on the nature of the treated surface of the ribbon, they produce various sizes, thanks to which you can isolate any seams. Choosing the material, consider that it should exceed a 4.5 cm gap into width. To work on the outside of the building, tapes from foamed materials are suitable, which will ensure reliable sealing.

Tape for insulation from moisture

Adhesive finishing material made from butyl rubber is designed to process window, balcony, door boxes and connections between panels. Inside it is laid a non-woven layer. After sticking, such a strip is ground, plastering, glued wallpaper or stained. There is a full-bought vapor barrier tape made on the Robiband system. It provides better processing of the mounting seam.

Metallized vapor insulation material is used to wet the seams with joints in rooms with high humidity - bathrooms, baths, saunas. The glue layer over the entire surface in this form greatly simplifies the work process. Manufacturers produce metallized ribbon of different widths. Selecting the material, add 45 mm to the width of the seam.

The tape having a protective strip of polypropylene is well withstanding the mechanical impact. In addition, it does not react with acids, organic solvents and alkali.

3 We understand the manifold of species of tapes - Sun or GPL?

The first in the list is psyms (pre-compressed self-sewing sealing tape). It provides high-quality adjacent window frame or door frame to the wall. This tape is used to vapor insulation of external joints and seams.

The following material is vapor insulation sun. It is used to close the seams when the dry finish is made. For example, under sandwich panels, drywall, plastic surfaces and so on. The tape has a layer of glue across the width - this property greatly simplifies the installation process. There is an improved option - Sun +. It is complemented by an anti-adhesive film. This additional coating provides a solid adhesion of isolation with construction materials.

Robiband Tape VM for vaporizolation

Robiband Tape VM for vaporizolation is the following qualitative version of the material for processing seams. It is used for internal works, and the wet plastering solution is applied. VPM + is a complicated option with better performance characteristics.

Latest view - GPL (hydrotreating material). It is produced from high quality foamed polyethylene. The tape has one laminated side, as well as an additional metallized layer. The second surface is completely covered with glue. This tape is universal, that is, it can be used for all types of work. Its variety is a GPL-C tape having similar features.

4 How to stick insulation - work without errors

The vapor insulation material does not only provide protection against moisture, but also has an alternative property with proper stagnation - noise absorption. The application of a vapor barrier tape on the seams is made by one segment, there should be no breaks. Before proceeding to work, measure the length of the treated surfaces.

The process of salary consists of several steps:

  1. 1. Clean the opening of the windows from dirt, dust and garbage.
  2. 2. Before mounting, remove the PVC window and wipe the dry cloth.
  3. 3. Cut the design to the place and mark on the frame and wall of the fastening of the tape.
  4. 4. The tape is attached to the window frame until the foam is applied along the seam.
  5. 5. Remove the design and stir at its surface around the perimeter vaporizolation.
  6. 6. Before installing the window to place, remove the remaining protective film from the adhesive surface.
  7. 7. Sticking material, do not allow folds. This defect will pass drops of liquid under vaporizolation, worsened operational characteristics.

In order for the window structure to serve long enough, its installation should be made with accurate observance of the existing technology. The outer material for steam, heat and water insulation needs to be glued after the mounting foam is completely polymerized. We render a seam under the windowsill we last produce.

If the tape is glued under the layer of plaster, it should have a special layer that will provide a solid grip with the building material. An uneven junction between the wall and the window frame is closed with a nichelnik, and vaporizolation is placed on it. The use of building materials for wall decoration is permissible only if fully compliance with the requirements for water permeability.

If a metallized tape is used for vaporizolation, then when applied to a rough surface, additional strengthening may be required. To enhance the adhesive effect, self-adhesive tapes with one or two glue bands are used. They additionally handle the joints of vapor barrier, eliminating and smoothing the defects (peeling and wrinkling sites) formed during the work.

The question of the need to vapor barrier by the method of sizing the joints of window frames and the slope of the outer wall of the vapor insulating ribbon of the unambiguous answer is not. But having decided to establish plastic windows in the house, it is very useful to understand some aspects of the problem:

The use of vapor insulation tapes is the rise in price of the installation. But it is not a fact that the tape sticker will be achieved high quality installation. The preparation of the foundation under the tape is very important, and the sticker technology has subtleties. Installation disorders lead to the fact that the ribbon will simply open and their task of vaporizolation will stop performing. In addition, the irregularity of the opening makes it difficult to install the tape, and they are not always able to do high-quality training and do not always.

One of the opinions of specialists - with the optimal organization of heating and air exchange in the house of the window, neither condensate nor mold in the corners. The dew point is located on the outdoor side of the heat-insulating wall layer, and there can be no mold in the window angles. It does not matter whether the windows of the pips and membrane are punctured or not. But if there are problems with the ventilation hood and heating does not work in the house, then the vaporizolation of the windows will give a positive effect (although the problems of heating and ventilation must be solved comprehensively). In any case, if the firm providing services for the installation of PVC windows stipulates the conditions of their future operation of the customer and offers options for sealing joints - this is definitely plus a company. Since there are "companies" and employees who do not love abbreviations "and argue that they do not regret the foam, and the warranty on the window for a whole year. Unfortunately, not always the installation of a successful and on the second winter does not blow from the windows, and there is no condensate in the offseason on the slopes.

The seams between the window frames and the outer walls are one of the weakest links and require thorough hydro and thermal insulation. Mounting foam, filling the space between the opening and the frame, is perfectly isolated from air noise and performs the task of the insulation of the joint. But moisture and ultraviolet are able to destroy foam for a period of several months to two years. Solve this problem, protecting the stamped branch sealing. From the outer side, waterproofing is performed so that the atmospheric moisture does not fall into porous insulation, from the inside the mixing of the joint is sampled by a vaporizolation ribbon.

Parosolation is necessary in order for moisture from the outer air to penetrate the insulation materials of the joint. According to the standards, internal seams for PVC windows must have vapor permeability of not more than 0.01 mg / m * h * pa. The parobarar is mounted before installing the windows, sealing the bog from the inside: the window block is installed in the opening without fixing, the stations under the tape sticker are placed, then the block is removed and the vapor insulation tapes are placed.

Means to protect the joints of windows and balcony doors:

  • Silicone sealants
  • Insulation packing - cords, packle, moss
  • Foil tapes
  • Butyl rubber-based ribbons and tapes

For the right choice, it is important to take into account the type of finishing window and the position of the joint. To protect the joints of frames and plasterboard and plastic slopes (dry facing) and to protect windows with plakurated slopes, different means of isolation is used. Usually natural aggregate - sphagnum, jute, linen pass, usually apply for wooden windows.

Device of vaporizolation

There are three layers:

  1. From the inside - heat shield prevents heat loss from the room outside
  2. The average carrier insulating layer provides thermal insulation and noise insulation. These tasks solve the mounting foam or other porous material. Parosolation self-adhesive ribbons rationally include in this inner layer if the window block is mounted in wet rooms - kitchens, baths or shower
  3. The outer layer waterproins the joint and protects against the penetration of cold outdoor air

Steamer tapes are produced with a one-sided adhesive layer and bilateral. One-sided sticker applies if Lena is mounted on the side surface of the window frame. A double-sided tape gives an advantage in choosing fasteners: on a frame or in the window opening. On climatic versions, tapes also produce two species - for areas with low winter temperatures - the winter version of the tape, and for areas where temperatures are not falling below + 5⁰С - summer option.

The basis for adhesive layers of ribbons is butyl ache or metal.

Main types of vapor barrier tapes:

  • Psuli, or a pre-compressed sealing tape - used for finishing and vaporizolation of outer joints, provides a dense window frame compound with an outer wall. The base material - butyluchet, the thickness and elasticity of the ribbon gives good insulation.
  • Sun - vapor insulation tapes for sealing the joints for dry decoration trim - from plastic or drywall. Clamping ribbons Sun reduces the risk of condensate falling.
  • VM - vapor insulation tapes that are fastened to the window frame, with the overlap, in order to improve the insulation of the joints.
  • GPL - ribbon of foamed polyethylene, laminated on one side, with metal stripes and adhesive layer on the entire width.

In addition to the main layer of subsequent polyethylene foam, which has a thickness of 2 mm and is a waterproofing, the GPL tape has a second layer - simultaneously vaporizolation and protective. The thickness of the outer layer is only 20 microns, the material is polypropylene.

Apply GPL ribbons for all types of door and window blocks as universal. Combine two tasks - waterproofing and vapor barrier. The structure of foamed polyethylene is elastic and closed-porous, so the material moisture does not absorb, the hygroscopicity is almost zero. Ribbons are plastic and suitable for mounting on uneven surfaces. Lamination with metal and quality of the main polymer (polypropylene as a protective layer) cause chemical resistance and in acidic and in an alkaline medium, and as a result - a good durability of GPL tapes.

GPL ribbons are produced in standard sizes of the width of window and door blocks, in width 9; 12; fifteen; and 20 cm, in rolls 15 m.

Features of the installation of vapor insulation tapes

  • Minimum temperature for mounting tapes - + 10 ° C
  • Sticker Ribbons is carried out on the prepared surface - complete cleaning from all pollution, dedusting and degreasing. Preparation is extremely important for the proper work of vaporizolation
  • Marking of lines of fixation of vapor insulation tapes. The position of the frame in the opening without fixation is determined, the stickers of the ribbons mark, then the frame is taken out and the markup ribbon is taken
  • Protective strips from paper are removed from the ribbons immediately before final mounting frames
  • After stickers, the tapes are filled with mounting foam
  • Ribbons under the windowsill are mounted last
  • If wet plaster is planned by vaporizolation tape, then the outer side of the tape should ensure adhesion with the solution. From the range of vapor insulation tapes It is possible to choose the material with the desired properties
  • Stick tapes on perimeters of frames without breaks, solid stripes. The overheet and nailed ribbons are not needed, with joints used glue compositions recommended by manufacturers, or tape

The question of the need for vaporizolation of windows solves each owner, based on the specific operating conditions of the windows. Budget options for mounting tapes exclude absolutely. But many experts believe that vaporizoation of windows is by no means reinsurance, but a real opportunity to increase the resource of window systems and improve the microclimate in the premises, and the savings in this case are not a completely correct approach.

Salute, readers!

I love thematic forums, where everyone with her opinion and tells others.

What battles are sometimes flared out there!

So this time in one of these forums, I managed to witness the disputes about the need to use vaporizolation tape.

One forum man with foam at the mouth argued that she did not need it and this is a good advertising move of one of the Western companies, the other explained why it was bad without it.

If you do not know what a vapor insulation tape is, then this topic is just for you.

Welcome!

Steamer tape for windows

Steamer tapes for windows, as well as good decoration and mounting seams, will provide decent window characteristics. To the window in your home function well and for a long time you do not have to miss such a moment as the installation of a vapor barrier tape.

Use the sealed tapes for insulation of the mounting seam from the vapor and moisture of the adjoining room prevent condensate output to the slopes.

If you have a kitchen, a room with a swimming pool or a bath, then the installation of the vapor insulation tape on the windows you just need.

Varieties of vapor insulation tape

Ribbons can be both with one and two sticky stripes. Two adhesive strips are intended for mounting the ribbon one side to the window, and the other to the wall.

Also, vapor insulation tapes are classified on weather periods:

  • for the summer period with air temperature from + 5 ° C to + 35 ° C;
  • for the winter period with temperatures below 0 ° C.

The width of the tape varies as depending on the needs, which makes it possible to ensure reliable vaporizion of the seams of various sizes. Choosing vapor insulating tapes, consider that its width should be somewhere 45 mm more width of the mounting seam.

Ribbons for outdoor work consist of foam materials (for this work it is necessary for well-sealing materials with a plaster solution, which will ensure the required vaporizolation of the outer layer).

The vapor barrier tape can be rubber, for the tightness of interpanel jacks or to install door or window blocks.

This tape contains a nonwoven cloth. In the process of installation, it is ground, plastering and painted. This type is also self-adhesive.

To protect against high humidity of the mounting seam under dry finishing of slopes in the market there are metallized vapor insulation tapes.

General information on the installation of vapor insulation tape

  • Initially, you need to prepare your opening: Clear from dirt, dust and other garbage inner and outer surfaces of the opening and frame. The frame is inserted into the opening and is temporarily not fixed.
  • After gently note on the frame of the line for fastening the vaporizolation tape.
  • After calculating and applying the layout with the window, remove the frame and glue our internal vapor barrier tapes. The paper strip that protects the inner adhesive layer, which later attached to the walls do not remove.

As a rule, the installation of a vapor barrier tape on the design is performed until the seam margin.

Helpful advice!

Therefore, before finishing, moisturizing and filling the foam, you can remove the protective paper strips from vapor insulation tapes.

This will allow you to not lose the adhesive tape properties. If you are holding a hidden installation, then the tape must be attached from above and on the sides of the structure, and from the bottom to the installation profile.

  • The external thermal insulation tapes can be glued no earlier than the full polymerization of the mounting foam will be performed.
  • Installation of a vapor barrier tape under the windowsill can be recently produced. When the installation of a vapor insulation tape under the plaster layer occurs, then the tape should have an outer coating, which will ensure the necessary adhesion with this plaster layer.

In the event that the window is a quarter with gaps between the frame and the wall, another technique is applied: an uneven joint can be closed with a nastener for windows, and it is already placed on it a vaporizolation tape.

The installation of a vapor barrier tape on the window is mounted in a continuous layer over the entire loop.

Do not forget that the use of finishing building materials in a complex with a vapor barrier tape is allowed only under the condition that the moisture permeable characteristics are observed.

Fungalized Self-Adhesive Hydroparoteeplook (vaporizolation)

Self-adhesive tape GPL is a reliable solution to the problems associated with heat, hydro, vapor insulation of assembly seams, joints, connections and adjoint assemblies in various building structures - window and door blocks, metal products, concrete, wood, plastic, etc.

The vaporizolation layer of the material creates reliable waterproofing, thereby preventing disputes, fungi and mold, which significantly prolongs the life of the structure.

Significantly reduce the loss of heat, energy costs are significantly reduced.

The adhesion layer simplifies the fastening of the tape, making the installation simple and easy, while ensuring reliable fastening of the tape on all types of building materials.

GPL - foil tape self-adhesive hydroparoteeploalization (vapor insulation).

The treated surfaces must be clean, dry and low-fat. The tape is unwinding from the roller (width of 90,120,150,200 mm) and cuts into pieces of the required dimensions.

Remove the protective film and without pulling along the length, stick the tape on the surface being processed. The tape is tightly pressing with hands or smooth the roller, not allowing the formation of air bubbles.

Comes in 420x420x600 mm boxes.
Recommended installation temperature is not lower than + 10 ° C.

Self-adhesive heat-, hydro, vapor insulating GPLs - consist of foamed polyethylene laminated on one side with a metallized polypropylene film, on the other hand, a layer of special waterproof glue is applied to securely fasten the material on metal, brick, concrete, wooden, plastic, and other structures. .

A sticky layer - special waterproof synthetic rubber glue with high adhesion to various materials, which allows the use of ribbons without leading surface preparation.

Installing an internal vaporizolation sealing tape

For internal sealing of the mounting seam applies:

a) Tape vapor barrier (dubbed) based on aluminum foil, a nonwoven web, allows you to protect the installation seam from the inside of moisture and prevents it from the seam to the surface of the internal slopes.

For light and reliable fixation on the tape, two adhesive strips of glue and butyl, located on two different sides are applied. It is recommended to apply throughout the perimeter of the window under the subsequent decoration finish with a dry way.

b) The steam-recreated sealing duplicate tape is made of nonwoven fabric, coated with self-adhesive plastic elastic mass based on the high degree of stickiness butyl rubber.

The peculiarity of butyl rubber tapes is their fairly large weight. And, if we compare tapes from butyl rubber and the reinforced foil with the same width of 120 mm, it turns out that the tape of the reinforced foil is almost 5 times lighter than the butyl rubber tape.

The small weight of the tape facilitates work with them when installed, and also significantly reduces transportation costs when transporting ribbons over long distances.

However, tapes based on the reinforced foil with adhesive stripes have adhesion only to a well-purified and low-fat surface of the inner slope, and butyl rubber ribbons have a more dense adjoining and better adhesion to the wall effect.

In order to establish an internal vapor barrier sealing tape, you must perform the following:

  1. Cut the tape into pieces of equal width and the length of the window + 10 cm (for the formation of angular connections). Docking ribbons in length is allowed "Vansel", at least ½ ribbon width.
  2. Remove the protective paper from the duplicate strip from the duplicate ribbon tape and glue the frame to the profile from the outside.
  3. The tape is attached by means of a self-adhesive duplicate mounting strip in the stretched state (tightly, without folds and bloats) to the outer surface of the box from the inside vertical and ceiling horizontal. The inner edge of the adhesive layer must coincide with the inner frame of the frame. The tape protecting the butyl rubber layer at this stage of installation is not removed.

The adhesive band has a sufficiently high resistance to low temperatures without losing adhesive properties.

The absence of adhesion may occur if the acrylic adhesive strip is maintained in a cold with remote anti-adhesion paper.

Also, the adhesion of the adhesive band is reduced when working with cold window blocks, since under the breath of the worker, pairs (moisture) stands out, which is partially condensed on the surface of the cold window block, which also reduces adhesion of adhesive strips.

To prevent this defect, it is recommended to keep glue layers with remote anti-adhesive paper with a minimum possible time, as well as wipe the surface of the window block with dry rag or paper napkin immediately before sticking to the ribbons to it.

How to apply a vaporizolation tape on windows from PVC

Question: How to apply a vapor barrier tape for PVC windows and at what temperature?

Answer: The installation of vapor insulation tapes on plastic windows is produced as usual in those rooms where elevated humidity of the air-kitchen, sauna, swimming pool.

The tape allows you to protect the mounting seam from moisture and a pair of outgoing room from the room and thus do not allow the condensate output to window slopes. Steam barclative ribbons are produced with one and two adhesive stripes.

A tape with two adhesive stripes is very convenient to mount the window and to the slope. Far insulating tapes are separated on summer and winter, depending on the weather conditions in the room.

Summer tapes can be used at air temperature from +5 to + 35s, and winter at air temperature is below 0 degrees. You need to choose a ribbon for windows such a width so that it is 45 millimeters wider than the width of the mounting seam. This will allow you to ensure reliable vaporizion of the mounting seams of your windows.

The technology of installation of windows and the use of vapor barrier tape is the following. We purify the opening from dirt and dust, we set the window frame and without fixing it, we mark on the walls of the opening and on the window frame of the fastening line of the vapor insulation tape.

We remove the frame from the opening and glue on it a vapor barrier tape, a protective strip on the part that will be glued to the wall not removed!

Hydroparo insulating tape (GPL).

The base is foamed polyethylene with high thermal insulation properties. Due to the closed cellular foam polyethylene structure, it has extremely low hydroscopicity, i.e. Practically does not absorb moisture.

Polyeneetylene gives tape elasticity, which is necessary for sealing seams with various irregularities. Outer layer - metallized polypropylene film.

The polypropylene film has high mechanical strength and resistance to alkali, acids and organic solvents, whose reflective layer is reliably protected from oxidation and mechanical damage.

It is important!

In addition, the polypropylene film is a good vapor insulator.

To prevent sticking of layers in a roll, a sticky layer is protected by a siliconized film.

Application: heat, hydro, vaporizolation of mounting seams and connections nodes in various building structures - window and door blocks, metal products, concrete, wood, plastic, etc.

Hydro-medication tape (GPL-C).

The tapes are self-adhesive heat, hydro, vaporizolation - consist of foamed polyethylene laminated on one side with a metallized polypropylene film, on the other hand, a layer of special glue is applied to securely fasten the material on metal, brick, concrete, wooden, plastic, and other structures.

Helpful information

Installation of PVC windows involves the use of special insulating materials. This category includes foam mounting for PVC and tape windows. Each of these materials has a definite purpose. As a rule, the tape serves to insulate the seams from dust and moisture, preventing the formation of fungus and molds in the joints. In turn, foam compensates for the effects of temperature differences and provides reliable sound insulation.

The tape is selected with the functional purpose. We offer a mounting tape for plastic windows to buy for any tasks - to seal the sings or slopes, window sills or window openings. We recommend paying attention to the psyl tape.

With a relatively low cost, it has excellent operational parameters, reliably protecting the seams from dust and moisture. In addition, its installation is carried out without special tools. A self-adhesive surface is firmly adjacent to the base without much effort.

Mounting foam for windows

Warming windows by mounting foam has recently been especially important. By correctly installing the window block, you can significantly reduce heat loss. Naturally, the effectiveness of such insulation is determined by the properties of the material. And here usually the question arises: Mounting foam for PVC windows - what is better? Basically, the insulating characteristics depend on the components that are part of the foam, as well as from the manufacturer of production technologies.

Our category is represented by the German company Bauset, which has been one of the leading European manufacturers for many years. Under the manufacturer's instructions, the consumption of mounting foam on the window is minimal - at low costs you can reliably seal the window block and extend its operational resource. In the adjacent sections of the catalog, you can choose all the necessary tools to perform work.

Hide

Vaporizolation is required for plastic windows. A vapor barrier tape allows you to close the joints, seams, protect the design from wind and precipitation. Thanks to this element, there will be no cold air through the joints, which will ensure the greatest tightness of the room and the minimum heat loss.

How to mount windows?

Modern builders most often use mounting foam. M. abouta tape for windows together with a sealant is applied after the foam dries. It is needed in order to protect the material from moisture, as well as close the possible slots and stop access of cold air to the room. If this condition is neglected, less than a year later there will be cracks between the window frame and the wall, through which the cold air will fall into the room. Drafts will appear, the windows will sweat and freeze on the joints.

What is the steam barrier in plastic structures apply?

It is worth considering that the more correctly the installation is made, the more reliably the design will be and can last longer. Even if, but will be inserted incorrectly, you will not get the desired effect.

It is necessary to ensure that the working manner fulfill the following conditions:

  • The inner part of the mounting clearance should be filled with foam curves than the outer.
  • The system must be three-layer. The first layer of the street protects the entire pie from weather conditions, the middle layer is responsible for thermal insulation, and the inner layer protects against the formation of condensate.

The vapor barrier tape is necessary to ensure the protection of the design from water vapor.

In order for vaporizolation to do not interfere with plastering, special tapes should be applied, on top of which can be finished the room.

What should be aware of sealing?

Most often, the windows are attached using special bolts and: this material simultaneously serves as a reliable retainer, which allows you to adjust the position of the frame before the foam freezes, and high-quality insulation. However, the sealing for the material is extremely important, since when the moisture is inserted, the foam begins to deteriorate, crumble and turn yellowing, which negatively affects its properties.

To protect the foam, the mounting tape for windows is perfect. Even if you are going to use platbands that will protect the design from weather conditions, and will also be able to give the frame a decorative look, before assessing it is worth sticking to the tape. It will help to make isolation of high-quality, while it will make work more expensive.

The most inexpensive and easy-to-install vapor barrier for windows is a special tape, to cope with the sticker of which everyone can.

Any window needs additional sealing. This is especially important if the street noise intensified, a draft appeared, and the heat is lost in winter. It is best to engage in warm weather in warm weather. For this, many ways are used until the windows are replaced. Fortunately, there are building materials that successfully solve this problem. Such material is considered to be a tape for insulation.

About insulation

The microclimate of the room depends on the windows. Because of the tight windows, the windows are stuffed, cracks and fungus appear on the slopes, there are constantly drafts and street noise. To effectively warm the windows, it is necessary to determine the causes of low thermal insulation.

Most often they are as follows:

  1. Wooden windows

First of all, insulation requires old window designs for such reasons:

  • previously, the glass was mounted in the frame with a special putty. Over time, it dries and chosen;
  • the frames are breathed, so cracks and cracks between the stroke and glass appear;
  • forms are deformed and destructed on the frame.
  1. Plastic windows

It is erroneously believed that such windows are quite hermetic, so do not need insulation. Unfortunately, after a few years the seal is destroyed, and without insulation it is not necessary.

There are other reasons due to which they need to engage in plastic windows:

  • violation of window installation technology;
  • window design skew due to house shrinkage;
  • factory marriage window design;
  • mechanical damage to structural elements.

Varieties of insulating tapes

Widespread use for insulation of ribbons, is due to a number of reasons:

  • no annual replacement is required;
  • insulation is carried out in a short time on its own;
  • when pasting there is no dirt, because water is not used;
  • on the frame there are no traces of adhesive composition;
  • there is no diffusion of the adhesive layer from the paint frame.

But such a method of insulation has disadvantages:

  • after the sickness, you can not open the windows sash;
  • a poor quality or poorly glued ribbon lags behind the frame in small areas.

In construction stores offer two types of ribbons that differ in the installation method.

  1. Harvester

Foam ribbon with adhesive base

Tapes of this type have a wide capture. The adhesive composition is applied in the manufacture (self-adhesive type) or during mounting work.

To create self-adhesive tape, polyvinyl chloride, rubber and foamed polyethylene (foam rubber) are used.

Due to the plasticity of these materials, the ribbon is easily compressed to the size of the slot. So that the insulation does not stand out on the background of the window, dyes are added: black, brown, white.

Usually, the package indicates the size of the slot that closes the ribbon. Popular options with sizes 3 - 7 mm.

The first began to use foam ribbons. Their popularity is explained by a number of advantages:

  • high compression degree;
  • frame is not destroyed in insulation places;
  • low cost;
  • high protection efficiency.

These tapes have negative qualities:

  • insufficient effectiveness for large gaps;
  • little service life. Effectively operate within one winter season;
  • in deplete models, the adhesive tape is poorly fixed;
  • low resistance to water action.

Important!

More convenient for insulation to use self-adhesive tapes on the foam rubber.

They are held longer on the window and regulate the degree of pressed sash.

  1. Sealing

D - shaped tubular seal with adhesive base

Tapes of this type have a hollow tubular shape, which is why heat is saved. Rubber and polyvinyl chloride are selected as the material.

On one side of the tape there is a groove tap or adhesive coating with paper protection.

It is believed that the groove is more resistant to mechanical impacts.

These qualities are considered:

  • slots are blocked to 0.7 cm;
  • any temperature differences are withstanding;
  • there is an opportunity to choose coloring for the color of the frame;
  • not limited to the use of the window;
  • available cost.

But most drawbacks refers to adhesive ribbons:

  • are not suitable for any design designs;
  • with temperature drops, the adhesive layer is destroyed;
  • with frequent deformations, there is a detachment in the glued places;
  • the ribbon from the foam material is quickly wet, dust sticks to it. For this reason, frequent replacements are carried out.

Tubular seals are checked annually. If necessary, it is replaced by separate fragments.

As a rule, the tape is selected by three indicators.

By material

Main advantages:

  • low cost;
  • high elasticity that allows you to close the slots of different sizes.

Disadvantages there are also:

  • due to the porous structure, the moisture is quickly absorbed. The drying process lasts for a very long time;
  • low durability. With long use, the material turns yellow and crumbs.

Unfortunately, such ribbons are rarely used to insulate the windows, as they increase the price of a window structure up to 15%.

  1. Rubber - Used to make two varieties of tapes: self-adhesive and sealing.

Tubular seals with groove

Self-adhesive ribbons are produced on the basis of synthetic rubber and have all its positive qualities: elasticity and resistance to temperature fluctuations.

Rubber seals are not afraid of aggressive media, so they serve for a very long time.

  1. Polyurethane Foolder (PPE) - Porous material made of foamed polyethylene.

Due to high elasticity, very effective tapes for small cracks. Good insulation qualities. Due to the presence of air in the structure, the heat insulating medium is created.

Its use is limited to the ability at high temperature to move into a liquid toxic state.

By manufacturers

In construction stores there are ribbons of different manufacturers.

However, only materials of the following brands use in demand:

  • Russia - PROFITRAST, ECON, Bison.
  • Germany - Kimtec, Deventer.
  • Poland - Sanok.

Domestic manufacturers, as a rule, work on European technologies and produce high-quality material not worse than foreign samples. At the same time, German and Polish tapes, although they are more expensive, but serve longer.

Price

Insulation tapes are sold in retail and in bays from 6 to 10 meters.

Since it is necessary for the standard window about 5 meters of self-adhesive insulation, it is most often a purchase of retail.

Price range is very wide.

For the traffic point meter of Russian material, it is necessary to pay up to 15 rubles, and the most expensive German heaters from rubber will cost 50 rubles.

Features of preparation windows to insulation

Preparation of the window for insulation with ribbon is almost no different from the preparation for other insulation. At the same time there are features.

The main stages are as follows:

  1. Everything is cleaned with the windowsill. Blinds are removed from the windows.
  1. Frames were washed with soap solution, and then dried. For the tape you need a dry and low-fat surface.
  1. Carefully examine glasses. Wooden windows have cracks with cracks. They are subject to replacement, as they are a source of heat loss.
  1. For sealing tapes are preparing grooves. They should not be the old tape, dirt and paint.
  1. Before the start of work, it is determined with places from where the cold air from the street comes from. They are insulated first. Weak places are sash, slopes, windowsill.

Warming adhesive tape

Warming technology does not differ in great complexity. First of all, it is necessary to observe the sequence of work.

  1. Plastic windows

Warming is performed in the following sequence:

  • the previously shot old insulation is used, firstly, to purchase a similar material, secondly, for pre-cut in the size of the old material.
  • sticking begins with the top of the window. As you progress, a protective layer is removed in small sections, and the tape is tightly pressed.

Read more in our video:

Important!

1. The glued ribbon should not have many gaps.

2. In the corners of the tape is not trimmed, but wraps.

  1. Wooden windows

For these windows, besides adhesive tape, a thin foam rubber is often used. Works are performed in such a sequence:

  • throwing strips are cut along the window outlet;
  • the sliced \u200b\u200bfoam lamps are laid between the frames;
  • the tape is cut down in size;
  • the sticky layer of the tape is applied to the foam rubber and smoothed out with a napkin.

Such insulation will last up to three years. But it is better to do as shown in the video:

Warming of sealing ribbon

  1. Plastic windows

Usually windows from plastic lose heat for two reasons:

  • breakdown fittings;
  • worn sealing.

Proper tape installation increases the insulating capacity of the window. This sequence of work is recommended:

  • before installing the tape is withstanding at a positive temperature, as it depends on its expansion inside the groove;
  • the tape is cut in the size of the window. The joints of the joints are cut off at right angles. The temperature expansion creates a stock: for each meter 1 centimeter of material;
  • the tape spatula is pressed into the groove, and at the same time, gluing stripes are removed in small sections.

Important!

1. Only jack is connected in the ribbon frame angles.

2. In order not to be impregnated, the tape does not compress more permissible value.

After mounting the sealing ribbon, the locking mechanism is adjusted: the clamp changes the axes, which are located in the end of the sash.

Adjustment is made by a hex key. The clamp increases when the Hand of the Hand is set in a horizontal position.

  1. Wooden windows

The Swedish method of insulation of such windows using Eurostrip technology is very much in demand. It has the following advantages:

  • there is no need for annual insulation of windows;
  • after conducting, the tightness of the windows is not disturbed;
  • rams life increases;
  • high degree of protection against dust and street noise.

For insulation, two types of tapes are used: rubber and silicone.

By the way, the proprietary Swedish silicone seals are easily inserted into the groove and serve until 20 years.

Installation is performed in such a sequence:

  • folds are removed from the loops and inspect. Revealed plots, and then restored;

So, both types of tapes for insulation of windows deserve attention. Which one depends better on the state of the window.

If you choose correctly, the insulation will quickly pay off, and the apartment will always be warm and cozy.
