1. This standard applies to paint coatings (hereinafter referred to as coatings) of industrial products and establishes general technical requirements for the selection of coatings for decorative properties.

2. Decorative properties are understood as the properties of the coating that provide its aesthetic perception.

The decorative properties of the coating are characterized by color, gloss, texture and class according to GOST 9.032-74 *.

3. The choice of coating for decorative properties is carried out at the design stage in the process of artistic design of products.

4a. The finishing options developed in the process of artistic design are recorded in the card of the color-texture solution of the product's finishing.

TYPES OF HARMONIOUS COLOR COMBINATIONS

1. The use of the color of paints and varnishes to create the appropriate color solutions for products is determined by the psychological (emotional) and physiological impact of individual colors and color combinations on a person.

When choosing color combinations of coatings, their harmony should be the first and main condition.

2. To obtain harmonious color combinations, it is necessary that there is a certain relationship between the colors (contrast or similarity between colors in hue, lightness or saturation).

3. The relationship between colors is achieved using the principles of choosing color combinations on the color wheel (Fig. 1).

4. When choosing color combinations, the characteristics of four psychological optimal primary colors - yellow (221), red (7), blue (427), green (324) and intermediate - orange, violet-purple, yellow-green - are taken into account.

5. Color combinations are divided into five main groups according to psychophysiological characteristics: contrasting, related, related-contrasting, equitonal, complex.

9. The car is operated in atmospheric conditions of a temperate and tropical climate, it is contaminated with road dust, dirt and is subjected to periodic washing with hot and cold water using brushes. The overhaul period is 3 years, and the car is maintained on a permanent basis.

10. The specified operating conditions are satisfied by paint and varnish coatings obtained on the basis of ML-12 melamine-alkyd enamel, KhV-110 perchlorovinyl enamel.

The coating system, consisting of two layers of ML-12 enamel, applied to the primed surface, is stable in atmospheric conditions of temperate and tropical climates for 3 years.

The coating system, consisting of two layers of XB-110 enamel, applied to a phosphated and primed surface, is also stable in temperate and tropical climates for 3 years.

11. In terms of color, texture, gloss and class of enamel ML-12 and XB-110 meet the requirements: enamel color ML-12 orange (121, 128), enamel XB-110 yellow (285, 286), coatings according to the recommended - smooth , glossy (ML-12), semi-gloss (XB-110), the maximum achievable coating class II for ML-12 enamel and III for XB-110 enamel.

12. Taking into account the level of production of the painting area (production - serial, painting on flow conveyors by pneumatic spraying or spraying in an electric field, drying in thermo-radiation drying chambers at a temperature of 130 ºС), you should choose ML-12 enamel, which is applied by the specified method and has a mode thermo-radiation drying at a temperature of 130 ºС for 20 minutes.

5. It is allowed for cast products weighing more than 10 tons to increase the waviness of the coatings by 2 mm for III - IV classes.
6. Allowed for welded and riveted products with a painted surface of more than 5 increase in the waviness of the coating by 2.5 mm for class III, by 3.5 mm for classes IV-VI
7. It is allowed to apply the classification and designation according to the normative and technical documentation if the specificity of the painted non-metallic materials does not allow characterizing the coating class according to table. 2.

Requirements for non-metallic painted surfaces are set in the standards or technical specifications for the product. 2.4. Requirements for the roughness of the primed or filled surface are given in reference annex 2a.2.5. The requirements for the gloss of the coatings are given in the recommended appendix 3.2.6. Controls are carried out in daylight or artificial diffused light, at a distance of 0.3 m from the object of examination. The norms of artificial lighting are taken according to SNiP II-A.9-71.2.7. Methods for determining the gloss and the presence of coating defects are given in the recommended Appendix 4. 2.8. The quality control of the coating is allowed to be carried out according to a sample manufactured and approved in accordance with the requirements of standards or technical specifications for the product.
Sec. 2. (Modified edition, Amendment No. 3). 3. DESIGNATION OF COATINGS
3.1. The designation of the coatings is recorded in the following order:
a) designation of the paint and varnish material of the outer layer of the coating in accordance with GOST 9825-73:
b) the class of coverage according to table. 2 of this standard or according to the relevant normative and technical documentation with an indication of its designation;
c) designation of operating conditions:

  • in terms of the impact of climatic factors - a group of operating conditions according to GOST 9.104-79;
  • in terms of exposure to special environments - according to table. 1 of this standard.

3.2. It is allowed in the designation of the coating, instead of the paint and varnish material of the outer layer of the coating, to write down the designation of paint and varnish materials in the technological sequence of application (primer, putty, etc.) with an indication of the number of layers or designate the coating in accordance with standards or specifications.

3.4. In the designation of coatings, it is allowed to indicate special operating conditions by the full name.

3.5. If the painted surface is simultaneously or alternately in different operating conditions, then they are all indicated in the designation. In this case, the main operating condition is put in the first place.

3.6. If the paintwork is preceded by a metallic or non-metallic inorganic coating, then their designations are separated by a fraction line, and the designation of the paintwork is placed in second place. For example, a cadmium coating, 6 microns thick, followed by painting with red-brown polyvinyl butyral enamel VL-515 according to class III, for the operation of the coating when exposed to oil products:

The evaluation of the shagreening by the profilograph-profilometer of the coating surface is carried out in accordance with the instructions for the device with a maximum sensor stroke length of 40 mm. Recommended vertical zoom for recording 2000-4000 times, horizontal - 4 times.
Shagreen is characterized by a height h and a base t of irregularities. The profilogram is used to determine the average height and average base in millimeters for the five maximum protrusions: where - the height of the irregularities at five points; where is the base of irregularities at five points.
The estimation of the shagreen value is given in the table.

PAINT COATINGS

Paints and varnishes (oil and enamel paints, as well as nitro enamels) are used for protective and decorative purposes.

Oil paints, prepared with oils and drying oils, are produced in different colors in a pasty form. Before use, they are diluted with linseed oil to a working viscosity and applied to the product with a brush or spray bottle. Oil paint coatings have a low gloss.

Enamel paints are prepared on varnishes; distinguish between oil enamels, alcohol and nitro enamels prepared on varnishes of cellulose ethers.

The enamels are produced ready-to-use. Oil enamels are applied with a brush or a spray bottle, and nitro enamels - mainly with a spray bottle, as they dry quickly.

Enamel coatings are distinguished by good gloss and increased hardness, resistant to temperature changes from -40 to + 60 ° C.

GROUPS, TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND CLASSES OF PAINT COATINGS

GOST 9.032-74 applies to paint coatings (hereinafter referred to as coatings) of product surfaces and establishes groups, technical requirements and designations of coatings.

Depending on the purpose, the coatings are divided into groups (Table 1).

It is allowed in the designation of the coating, instead of the paint and varnish material of the outer layer of the coating, to write down the designation of paint and varnish materials in the technological sequence of application (primer, putty, etc.) with an indication of the number of layers or designate the coating in accordance with standards or specifications.

The designation of the paint and varnish material, the coating class and the designation of the operating condition are separated by dots. When exposed to various operating conditions, their designations are separated by a dash. Examples of the designation of coatings are given in table. one.

In the designation of coatings, it is allowed to indicate special operating conditions by the full name.

If the painted surface is simultaneously or alternately in different operating conditions, then they are all indicated in the designation. In this case, the main operating condition is put in the first place.

If the paintwork is preceded by a metallic or non-metallic inorganic coating, then their designations are separated by a fraction line, and the designation of the paintwork is placed in second place.

For example, a cadmium coating, 6 microns thick, followed by painting with red-brown polyvinyl butyral enamel VL-515 according to class III, for the operation of the coating when exposed to oil products:

GROUPS OF OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR PAINT COATINGS

GOST 9.104-79 applies to varnish paint coatings of products and establishes groups of operating conditions for coatings of macroclimatic regions and categories of placement in accordance with GOST 15150-69.

The operating conditions of products with coatings (Table 1) are established depending on the resistance of the coatings to the effects of a combination of climatic factors, the values ​​of which are due to the normal values ​​in the open air of various macroclimatic regions and the categories of placement of painted surfaces.
