Profitable directions of trade. What is better to sell in the online store

Trade is one of the most profitable business areas. Compliance with the rules established in this area, competent business design and a thorough study of consumer demand - the key to creating an effective business. Before proceeding with the implementation of this project, it is necessary to undergo thorough preparation. In the framework of this article, we propose to discuss the question of what is profitable to trade in the market.

Trading in the market can bring good income.

Analysis of the modern market

Beginning businessmen know about the features of market relations only from the point of view of the buyer. Many entrepreneurs mistakenly idealize this area, thinking that creating a store will make it possible to earn big money. The very essence of trade relations is based on certain laws and commercial traditions.

Before you start working in the market, you must carefully analyze the specifics of this activity.

Many consumers often think about the size of the income of sellers trading in the market. Making approximate calculations, people fantasize about large client traffic. A novice entrepreneur should understand that an increase in the number of stores or goods on the market does not contribute to an increase in sales volumes. When choosing an assortment for subsequent resale, you should not copy competitors and purchase similar products. An increase in the number of sellers does not contribute to an increase in the number of buyers. It is this problem that newcomers in this field often encounter.

Properly thought out product line will allow you to work even in conditions of fierce competition. First you need to select several products that are not available on the market. It is very important that the selected products have a stable demand. The main rule of market relations is the axiom “demand creates supply”. This means that with the wrong choice of assortment, the entrepreneur will have to replace the entire product line. The presence of unclaimed products may cause the first losses.

The next important nuance is the study of the location of outlets in the market itself. From the choice of point depends on the choice of marketable products. As a rule, the classic market has several entrances and a trading platform divided into separate zones. In different areas there are tents and shops specializing in a specific assortment. Points located near the entrance specialize in impulse sales. There may be a store of household chemicals or bakery products.

Most often, newcomers to the market choose places that customers rarely visit. In the case of such a placement, it is recommended to choose narrow-profile products. The next problem that the businessman will face is the need to attract buyers. For this, billboards and special extensions are installed.

Before you start trading in the market, you must carefully analyze the associated risks. Low consumer demand, unforeseen costs and high rents are the first risks. Lack of compensation may result in the need to close the business shortly after the start of work. The amount of available capital should provide three months of stable work, taking into account the lack of income. In this case, the entrepreneur has a chance to solve all the problems that have arisen.

A fairly common mistake in this area is the recruitment of employees a few days after the opening of the point. Entrepreneurs taking this step are depriving themselves of the opportunity to study all the subtleties and specifics of the field in question. Oats the lack of control over consumer demand is the reason for the first financial difficulties. It should be remembered that wage earners fulfill their obligations only in order to receive wages. The business owner himself is working in order to study the prospects for the further development of his project.

 The profit that you will receive from trading in the market depends a lot on whether the product category is chosen correctly

Creating your own business, it is necessary to take into account the economic characteristics of the region and the level of solvency of the potential audience. According to statistics provided by Rosstat, the solvency level of Russian citizens over the past three years has decreased by ten percent. This means that most of the population of our country saves on the purchase of quality goods. According to sociologists, all people acting as consumers can be divided into four groups. The financial efficiency of the business depends on the description of the portrait of potential customers:

 1. « Optimizers »- This category includes residents of large cities of the age of forty-five years and older. This category of consumers prefers to refuse expensive products and acquires cheap products.
 2. "Rationalists"- This group includes people with a high income. Representatives of this category are characterized by careful planning of their expenses and compilation of lists of essential goods.
 3. Discount Hunters- This category includes residents of cities with a population of less than one million. Most of this group is represented by women aged thirty-five to forty-four. Going to the market, "discount hunters" are looking for outlets where various promotions are held.
 4. “Thrifty” - This group includes all residents of provincial cities with low income. Going shopping these people prefer to buy goods that they have enough for several months. A distinctive feature of such people is full control over the budget.

How can an entrepreneur get a subsidy for business development

Considering the question of where to start trading on the market, you should slightly deviate from the main topic and talk about methods for obtaining start-up capital. People who are officially assigned unemployed status are eligible for subsidies to create their own business. To receive start-up capital from the state, you must live in this status for at least thirty days. You can apply for unemployed status at the local branch of the employment center. Only those citizens who meet certain criteria can receive a subsidy to create their own business. Retirement age, college studies or a criminal record may result in a refusal to issue funds.

After receiving the status of unemployed, the future entrepreneur can begin the process of obtaining subsidies. To begin with, it is recommended to study all available government programs and the conditions that must be met in order to participate in such a program. In some regions, employees at an employment center require an entrepreneur to pass a test.

To receive state assistance, an entrepreneur must provide the center with a developed business plan. In this document, you need to specify the work order of the future outlet, product line, ways of promoting the business and the estimated profitability of the business. Many newcomers in the field of business involve third parties in the preparation of the business plan, acting as intermediaries between the entrepreneur and the employment center.

The term for consideration of the application is ten days. In some regions, a rule has been established according to which a businessman must protect a project being developed before a special commission. Having completed all of the above actions, you should register as a business entity and open a current account. Money in the amount of fifty eight thousand rubles will be transferred to this account. This amount is enough to rent a stall or a small pavilion and buy the first batch of marketable products.

 Customer demand will be driven by how many similar items are already on sale in your area.

Competent organization of trade in the local market

When choosing trade as the main line of business, an entrepreneur needs to carefully study all the subtleties of the organizational process. The fulfillment of this condition reduces the likelihood of difficulties in work.

The more profitable to trade

Many newcomers to the field of commerce often ask what it is now profitable to trade. According to experts, one of the promising areas with a stable level of consumer demand is food. Products from this category remain in demand even during a crisis. When choosing an assortment, it is necessary to take into account the solvency level of most customers. As a rule, most market visitors wish to purchase inexpensive cereals, vegetables, and fruits.

The next popular category is shoes and clothes. This direction of trading activity is characterized by stable demand and a high level of competition. The presence of wholesale suppliers able to provide a unique product at a low cost allows you to increase the size of the product margin. In order to find such suppliers, you will need to spend quite a lot of time. It should also be borne in mind that in the case of unverified products, the entrepreneur risks working in the red. That is why many merchants prefer to choose the same products as their closest competitors.

Building materials are another product group with stable demand. Such products are purchased not only by ordinary citizens, but also by representatives of small firms. The profitability of such a project depends on many external factors. Before deciding on this direction, it is recommended to carefully analyze the level of competition.

The nuances of trading in the market

In order for the trading activity to bring maximum profit, it is necessary to take into account the influence of such factors as seasonality. Trade in meat, milk and other perishable goods is much more complicated in the summer months. Changes in the nature of consumer demand are most pronounced in the field of trade in fruits and vegetables. In the summer months, it is recommended that you focus on selling berries, tomatoes and cucumbers. In the winter months, vegetables such as carrots, onions and potatoes are more in demand.

Attachment to seasonality is also observed in the clothing trade. The product line of such points must necessarily change after the onset of the new season. Trying to sell winter clothes in the summer months can result in major losses.

 First, evaluate how much a particular niche of trade is already occupied, the more competition, the less chance of success

Where to start: detailed instructions

At the first stage of creating a business, an entrepreneur needs to find a place in the market that will be used to create a point of sale. During this process, it is necessary to carefully analyze client traffic in various sections of the sales area. As a rule, most people visit only the shops and tents located in the front row. The cost of renting this area can be significantly higher compared to other places. Most beginners are offered pavilions located quite far from the entrance. When choosing such a location, it should be understood that the level of client flow will be reduced several times.

The next step is to register as an individual entrepreneur. When choosing a tax regime, it is recommended to pay attention to a simplified system. The cost of legal registration of a business is about a thousand rubles. After that, you must contact the market administration in order to conclude a lease. In addition, it is necessary to conclude contracts with companies that will supply the range. An entrepreneur wishing to trade on the market must comply with the following rules:

 1. Most markets prohibit tenants from selling wholesale.
 2. The entrepreneur must comply with sanitary rules.
 3. Attracting minors to trading activities is prohibited.
 4. The tenant agrees to keep the rented area in proper form.
 5. The market administration sets the opening hours of the stores.

After completing all of the above steps, you can proceed to the trading itself.

Considering the question of how to trade profitably in the market, it is necessary to give some advice from people who have built a profitable business in this direction. Many entrepreneurs who make mistakes in the very early stages of starting their own business close their stores just a few months after the start of trading. One common mistake is to hire employees who do not have professional experience. Attempting to save money can result in large losses.

The next common mistake made by almost all newcomers is the conclusion of a contract with suppliers offering the lowest price for their products. Wanting to increase the profitability of their business with the help of a commodity allowance, entrepreneurs acquire low-quality products, which remain unclaimed. It should also be noted that the too low cost of products can cause doubts about the quality of the products offered. Independent attempts to trade in the absence of proper experience are also doomed to failure. Such entrepreneurs often make mistakes when choosing the assortment or location of the outlet.

All of the above factors have a direct impact on the state of the business. In addition, it is imperative to take into account the characteristics of the regional economy. Low incomes lead to lower consumer demand. Shops specializing in the sale of interior items, jewelry and household appliances often suffer large losses, which leads to their closure. In the event of a crisis, the demand for essential goods and food products increases. This factor must be taken into account when developing a business plan.

 The main task of a novice entrepreneur who does not yet know how to trade in the market is to conduct research, study demand, supply and make a choice

Conclusions (+ video)

In this article, we discussed the question of what is profitable to retail. A well-built trading business can become a very profitable enterprise, bringing stable revenue. However, any mistake made in the organizational process can lead to large losses. Before you begin work in this area, it is recommended that you carefully examine all the pitfalls, spending several months working as a seller.

Before you invest your money, effort and time into the business, any novice businessman asks this important question. How to occupy exactly that market niche, where at the same time there will be good demand for its products and a sufficient number of solvent consumers. Every newly-minted entrepreneur dreams of this, but these dreams are very rarely fulfilled and, most often, they remain dreams. And the reason for this is the most mundane - competitors.

It was competition that was dreamed of during the time of the Soviet Union, when there was a shortage of goods. Today, if someone has found a profitable industry that is not occupied by anyone, then they will know about it almost immediately. And the next day in this industry there will already be two or three entrepreneurs who will begin to multiply at the speed of mushrooms after rain. And in a short time this niche will be filled with militant competitors.

There is, of course, the situation is better, provided that somewhere in a large state organization your uncle works as a director, who, out of kindred feelings, will transfer orders to perform services and purchase goods only to you. And since this is only your uncle, there will be no competitors. But this is fraught with an article on monopolism and corruption in state enterprises. Therefore, it is better to consider the ideal variant of a competitive market with the condition that in this industry at the same time there are a large number of approximately identical competing entrepreneurs and enterprises that use similar technologies or implement a similar assortment of goods.

All market niches today seem busy and completely filled. But in fact, not because the market is growing and developing steadily, technologies and products are changing, and demand for them is changing. Because of this, new commodity sectors are emerging that are rapidly filling up with the most active and competitive entrepreneurs. And also by those who just ended up at the right time in the right place.

And now a few examples of how you can and should use the uneven development of the market, and how to play on changing the situation in order to get a local advantage over competitors in the conditions of overcrowding of the product niche.

Once in the distant past, in Russia there were no pencils from cockroaches. And the cockroaches themselves in the houses were innumerable. One commercial organization found out that in China this miracle remedy can already be found on sale. And this very company has concluded a contract for the supply of a huge amount of goods. For several months, the first batches were snapped like hot cakes, despite the fact that prices were two to three times higher than the purchase.

Then, when other firms after some time learned about it and began to import pencils from cockroaches to Russia, along with the amount of profit, prices fell. After a year, this product was no different from the usual commercial one, and there was the same margin of 20-30% of the purchase price.

Or another situation from the relatively recent past. In the United States released a good communicator Palm Treo 650. For some time it was the best. But progress does not stand still. They began to produce more advanced communicators. But Palm Treo650 still continued to be in demand, because it was a very successful model. In this regard, he was released in a very large party.

In one year, this communicator managed to become the best-selling communicator in the United States. Then, of course, the fashion for him ended, he was out of date. But the market has remained a significant balance of the party. And the change of fashion has not yet reached Russia. And there were enterprising people who figured out, counted and began to import containers of these communicators into our markets. For comparison: since the United States recognized this model as obsolete, its purchase price was reduced to $ 100-120. Our Palm Treo650 cost $ 350-400 as a novelty. This went on for over a year. Several large companies, seeing this situation, also decided to earn money and began to import these communicators in very large batches.

And the boom is over. Since there was an excess of goods on the market, the price quite naturally fell. Just by that time, the cost of newer models began to decline in our market.

Therefore, in order to really make money, you must constantly look for different options for earning, new goods and services.

Now let's see what goods and services are in demand now.

As elsewhere, here you can choose. For example, the market for everyday products. Every day or regularly enough people buy bread, potatoes, kefir, cereals, sugar, salt and other products. But since these goods are constantly needed, then there are a lot of manufacturers of this assortment, respectively, you can not count on the profitability of this trade. To have more than competitors and always have a demand for products of their own production, you need to constantly introduce some new technologies that will reduce the cost of goods, or rely on large volumes of sales. Here it’s impossible to talk about small and medium-sized businesses, as you have to create large supermarkets, shopping centers and chains.

There is another option - to look for completely new products and services. You will be the only ones on the market, and for some time you will be able to work without competition. If we talk about such a product that you can quickly find and make it suitable for any region, then these are constantly changing fashionable styles of clothes and models of shoes.

Designers and marketers work on the creation of such products every year. If you have already opened sales of clothes and shoes, you can contact the suppliers of popular fashion brands of your price category, and every season you can delight your customers with an assortment of new collections. All this will be in demand, but only for some certain time.

Then competitors will learn about the profitability of your enterprise, and will begin to import and trade similar models. Demand and margin will inevitably fall. Therefore, take care in advance of purchasing new models that are relevant in the next season, and buyers will always come to you.

It is also necessary to take into account the fact that constantly evolving progress can not only create new lines of business and market niches, but also destroy old ones. More recently, the sale of cassettes for cassette recorders was widespread. It was very profitable. But then the development of technology stepped forward, laser discs appeared, and cassette recorders were outdated and disappeared from production. Cassettes ceased to be necessary for anyone.

Or turn to another similar industry. Every year our market is massively replenished with the latest in mobile phones, laptops and netbooks, tablets, electronic gadgets and other equipment.

The batteries for these devices have time to wear out faster than the device deteriorates or becomes obsolete. Therefore, many entrepreneurs managed to arrange the supply of batteries and other spare trifles and accessories for electronic equipment directly from Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturers. And they help people, and do not forget their profits - everyone is happy. Or buy in the largest online stores known throughout the world, for example, ebay.com. There you can buy spare parts and various components for existing equipment much cheaper than from the supplier of this equipment.

The scheme is very simple. The communicator vendor purchases batteries from the direct battery manufacturer and puts a margin on them. Then, the supplier of equipment makes purchases of electronics together with spare parts, brings them to his warehouse and once again makes an extra charge for delivery and separately for storage of equipment in the warehouse. And at an online auction you can buy batteries directly from the manufacturer. It is clear that in this case you save a lot of money, which also increases depending on the quantity of goods in the delivered lots.

Modern means of communication and delivery make it possible to receive the ordered goods quickly and simply. And there is always a solvent demand for it, constantly increasing with the acquisition of technology

This raises the logical question of whether a beginner businessman should do everything the same way as those who already have many customers, large sales volumes, sales and good income. The answer may be simple: if someone came up with and created a successful business, then this someone is a smart person. And this means that you can reproduce the same business only if, for some reason, the company is closed, or deployed in another, less busy place. For example, there was a certain company that successfully worked in the clothing market in one city. You are from another city. We arrived, got acquainted with the assortment, with how to find suppliers and clientele. In your city today there is no such product and such trade. And you copied this type of business and transferred it to your city. In this case, the option will be successful.

The likelihood of success will become even higher, and you will be especially pleased if you can not only do the same thing, but also bring in some other idea - a new and original one. But at the same time, it is necessary to realize that any undertaking on the market is primarily a commercial risk, and not just profit and opportunity. And the more profitable the business, the greater the risk for the businessman.

Profitable niches for trading: pilaf over the Internet, knives, optics and much more.

Since the establishment of commodity-money relations, trade has been one of the most profitable types of business. However, during the crisis, the question of how to trade profitably becomes especially relevant. Which product will be in demand for sure: already known and “untwisted” or innovative? Low or high price category? Domestic or imported?

To understand which product to choose for promotion, you should analyze the market situation in various segments, the prospects for its development, evaluate the distribution channels and the level of competition.

Market situation

Nowadays, incomes of citizens are reduced, and this entails a decrease in their purchasing power. According to Rosstat, in 2015 the real disposable income of Russians fell by 4%, and in the 1st quarter of 2016 - by another 3.9%.

According to Romir research, approximately 70% of our compatriots in 2015-2016. began to save up to 10% on the most necessary: products, clothes, shoes, other non-food everyday goods.

Sociologists distinguish four types of buyers, depending on their chosen strategy of cost savings (see Table 1).

 Table 1. "Portraits" of customers

Buyer Type

Signs

Behavior

"Optimizer"

Men over 45 years old living in large cities

Refusal from expensive brands (21%), transition to cheaper (31%)

"Rationalist"

High income people

Make a list of prospective purchases (29%) and always follow it

Discount Hunter

Women 35-44 years old, low-income citizens, residents of small cities (100-500 thousand people)

Acquire goods mainly on promotions (19%)

"Thrifty"

Residents of small towns, low-income people

Stock up on products for future use (16%), less often go shopping to keep their budget under control (22%)

Similar trends are observed in online sales (see Fig. 1).

* Data are excluding online orders for ready-made meals, tickets, digital goods, bulk purchases

In 2015, according to Vedomosti, they grew by only 3%, adjusted for inflation (excluding - by 16%). This is 2.5 times less than in 2014 (8% adjusted for inflation). On average, the online store check grew by 8% and amounted to 4,050 rubles. The number of orders also increased by 8% (up to 160 million)

According to Data Insight statistics, from consumer electronics and consumer electronics, consumer interest has shifted to low-cost products: low-cost clothing and consumer goods. At the same time, the share of premium brands and expensive goods decreased. The leaders are sports goods, products for animals and children's assortment.

Summary: the situation on the market makes us think about the formation of a fairly wide range, designed for an audience interested in saving. At the same time, quality should be acceptable, as competition in the low and medium segments was and remains high. The marketing strategy should be focused on various categories of citizens and take into account their preferred ways of saving.

What do customers want?

Consider which product is profitable to trade today, using successful startups and the most popular franchises as examples (according to Forbs 2016).

Food: pilaf over the Internet

Food products are the most necessary. Even in the context of austerity, buyers will never exclude them from the consumer basket. So, in this niche you can take your place. That is what the young businessman Ilkhom Ismailov did. In 2014, he opened an online food shop, Plov.com.

Starting capital - 1 million rubles from own savings - was spent on the arrangement of the kitchen and the creation of a site for receiving orders.

At first, the entrepreneur and his partners sold only pilaf, in 2015 they expanded their assortment and began to offer sweets, salads, manti, pastries: sales grew by 88%. The revenue of the online store in the period from January to April 2016 increased by 2 times compared to the same period last year.

The immediate plans include creating a franchise (there are already about 200 requests from potential franchisees) and opening a business offline: “We understand that we need to go offline,” says Ilkhom Ismailov. - In the summer, people try to spend more time outdoors, in parks. We must be where our customer is. ”

According to the results of 2015, I. Ismailov became the winner of the Forbs Young Billionaire School, held annually, and his project was recognized as one of the most promising.

Cooking at home: knives for amateur cookers

During the crisis, people began to visit cafes and restaurants less, but at the same time they still want to eat tasty and beautiful. This trend was noticed by businessman Alexei Yakovlev and entered into an agreement with the largest manufacturer of steel and ceramic knives, Samura Katleri. Promoting the products of this company in the middle price category, you can be interested in amateur cookers. The idea paid off: today, under the Samura franchise (TOP-5 rating of Forbs 2016), there are 250 points of sale (23 opened in 2015).

Initial investments - 250,000 rubles: involve the cost of equipment for the outlet and the purchase of the starting batch of knives. The franchisee's revenue is 3.75 million rubles, profit - 2 million rubles (knives are sold at a mark-up of 160%).

Good vision in price

Demand for health products is consistently high. This explains the success of Aircraft Optics, a federal retail chain of stores selling ready-made glasses and custom-made them (it has its own lens turning workshop). Franchise TOP-12 Forbs rating. At present, 130 of its own and 350 franchising points operate (120 opened in 2015).

Business geography - more than 100 cities. Royalties and lump-sum payments are absent. Franchisees receive trading, lighting, medical equipment and a basic batch of the starting fee (1.4 million rubles).

The franchisor offers partners the opportunity to make up to 300% of the retail margin and, as a bonus, gives 50% compensation for advertising costs.

Revenues - 6 million rubles, franchisee profit - 3 million rubles.

For children's creativity

Most parents consider investing in the younger generation to be paramount and most profitable, therefore, among all that is now profitable to trade, goods for children occupy one of the first places. Let us dwell on them in more detail.

If we talk about the offline format, then the franchise for selling creative kits “Orange Elephant” (TOP-15 of Forbs rating) is successfully advancing: 10 of its own and 422 franchise points. Franchisors have their own production in China of sets for drawing, modeling, design, decoration. Today it is one of the most recognizable and rapidly growing networks of goods for children, presented in 61 cities of Russia, as well as in the CIS, Europe, Asia, South Africa. In 2015, 85 new points of the "Orange Elephant" were opened.

Initial investments - 250 thousand rubles. Estimated revenue - 7.5 million rubles, profit - 1.9 million rubles.

What is profitable to sell over the Internet?

Today, almost everyone can create their own online store. But not everyone knows what to fill it with. The editors of "Today" invited experts to clarify this issue. Here are some of the categories that they recommend for promotion, and the features of their marketing that are worth paying attention to (see Table 2).

 Table 2. What is the best way to trade on the Internet?

What to look for

 • high demand (seasonal holidays, birthdays, memorable dates, etc.)
 • it is possible to sell goods of own production with a markup of up to 300%
 • high competition, including with large online sites and retail gift shops
 • seasonality (high season - from May to August, peak - before the holidays)
 • the ability to order delivery of the most popular items - feed and filler, which usually have a large volume, so it’s inconvenient to pick them up from the supermarket
 • a good solution for those who do not have a pet store near the house
 • goods with a long shelf life, so they are ordered at a significant interval: you will have to deal with active promotion
 • during the crisis, many switch to animal feed by-products

Hobby goods (diamond mosaic, felting wool, paints, brushes, decoupage paper) and collectibles (stamps, coins, antiques)

 • enthusiastic people - grateful audience: they will always find funds for their hobby
 • it’s not profitable to keep the store offline on this topic, since the product is not essential, but on-line is profitable (less overhead, lower price, higher demand)
 • many do not dare to purchase collectible goods through the Internet because of the risk of fakes
 • goods are not cheap, so the demand for them during the crisis will be limited

Goods for recreation and tourism

 • more and more people focus on outdoor activities
 • attractive delivery of bulky and bulky goods to the apartment
 • it’s hard to find suppliers (China does not suit everyone)
 • a lot of imports - currency risks
 • seasonal demand
 • many competitors

But not everything depends on the popularity of a product. In order for the trade to be successful, professionals recommend selling what you yourself are good at. If the seller is an expert in his product, the buyer treats him with confidence and quickly goes into the category of permanent, recommends it to his friends. This must be taken into account when choosing your trading niche.

During the crisis, not all entrepreneurs suffered losses, some even doubled their profits. Why, then, do some have losses, while others have superprofits? This is due to the fact that successful businessmen traded popular goods.

Categories of the best-selling goods in Russia

What is a running (sold) product - this is the product that is most popular among buyers. It is generally accepted that the best-selling goods in Russia today are bread, cigarettes and vodka. But, not necessarily, by trading in this group of goods, you can provide yourself with any benefit that differs from other sellers. For example, trading in cigarettes (the best-selling product in Russia in 2019), one should not expect large profits from sales. This happens because a special system of pricing tobacco products does not allow you to set a premium on cigarettes above the established norm, and by selling this group of goods, you can even lose money.

When choosing a product for sale, you should pay attention not to mass sales, but to prospects and profitability, in case of another crisis. Trade in Russia should be based on a reliable selection of various goods for sale in adverse economic conditions. Observing this rule, you can not be afraid of the crisis and calmly trade under any conditions.

So, selling less and earning less, but stably choosing a product from the category of reliable goods is much more profitable than earning a lot on sales, but losing profit in a crisis by selling risky goods. A popular proverb says "you go quieter - you will be further." What is the best-selling product in Russia in 2019?

The following categories are in the list of best-selling goods in Russia:

Small household appliances (irons, blenders, electric kettles, mixers);

Electrical goods (wire, cable, lamps, plugs, sockets, switches, etc.);

Sanitary products (valves, taps, gaskets);

Simple tools (hammers, saws, screws);

Household chemicals (synthetic powders, detergents for dishes, stoves, sinks, tiles, detergents for toilets and so on);

Food;

Clothes and shoes;

Other daily use items;

The best-selling food products are products of social significance, namely:

Meat (chicken, pork, beef, lamb);

Frozen fish;

Chicken eggs;

Butter and sunflower oil;

Cow's milk

Flour and flour products;

Sugar sand;

Salt;

Black tea long leaf;

Groats (buckwheat, polished rice, millet);

Pasta;

Vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage);

The above products are a full minimum, which is necessary for a person, a citizen of Russia to ensure life. But confectionery, such as sweets, as well as drinks, including alcoholic beverages, are an addition, but sometimes some of them are popular goods.

Also, semi-finished products can now be classified as hot goods - products (meat, fish, vegetables) cooked in half, which only need to be cooked.

In this area of activity, a market analysis was carried out and the following results were found out - people who have improved living standards often acquire not-so-useful fast food. Mostly women buy semi-finished products, this is explained by the fact that trying to combine work, study and family life, they try to simplify their lives with such products and thereby save time for other more important things. For many people, convenience foods are the main daily food, and therefore this product is rightfully one of the best-selling products.

Everyone wants to live successfully and securely, which is why, striving for a better life, people choose individual entrepreneurship rather than self-employed. Also, the desire to work for oneself is caused, for example, by the loss of the main place of a person’s earnings, because as a result of the crisis, many enterprises that consistently receive high incomes could not cope with economic problems, ceasing to exist and naturally reducing a large number of jobs.

To do business and earn income you need to decide what to sell, so as not to burn out. To do this, you need to take the first steps in building a successful trading business and carefully consider what type of product to trade and where. You can trade anything as in the market by opening a stall, a tent, a place or even a store, or by selling online. In these options there are both advantages and disadvantages, and the entrepreneur needs to know them.

But first you need to choose an assortment of goods for sale, and then solve the following issues:

The amount of initial capital for starting a business;

In the case of trade in a stall or outlet, you should analyze the market in this area of the city for competitors;

Care should be taken to ensure that the assortment of goods selected for sale is from the list of reliable goods and remains in demand even if the economic situation in the country worsens;

Reliable goods include those goods that a person will buy regardless of the economic situation in the country. Yes, of course, sales may fall, but the goods will still be sold.

The best-selling product in Russia via the Internet

Today, the Internet is the most popular place to trade, here you can buy almost everything - from food and medicine to bulky equipment and furniture, without leaving your home.

The design of an online store is similar to the design of a regular outlet. For this, it is also necessary to formalize individual entrepreneurship, open a bank account, write a business plan, and decide which category of goods to trade. The advertising company of online stores, of course, is slightly different from the standard, but the tax reporting is the same.

What can be implemented in the online store

Given that almost everything that is needed is sold on the Internet, a modern person, nevertheless choosing a product to trade on the network, should study what product is in demand most among users of Internet resources.

Researchers at the e-commerce market have noticed a certain pattern of such sales and identified the so-called standings of the most popular products sold via the Internet.

Consider the top ten best-selling Russian goods on the Internet:

1. In the first place in the ranking of network sales is deservedly small appliances. This wide category of goods is readily bought not only in household appliances stores, but also on the Internet. These are the following products: irons, mixers, toasters, blenders, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, hair dryers, curling irons and hair straighteners, bread machines, multicookers, scales, meat grinders, waffle irons, sandwiches, electric shavers, digital and SLR cameras, video players, music players, car radios etc. As you can see, the list of these products is very extensive, and these products are popular because they make life easier for a person, making it more comfortable for a relatively low cost. On the Internet, people buy small household appliances and electronics to save time, since not in every region you can find one or another product of the desired configuration, and fast delivery to any, the most remote region of Russia, allows you to make such purchases.

2. The second place in the ranking of online sales is occupied by laptops and computer components. The advantage of online sales of such products is similar to the previous ones - a large selection, low price, convenient delivery and warranty on the goods. Even the owners of ordinary computer equipment stores order goods for trading from wholesale suppliers on the Internet, because many probably have come across a situation where a customer in a regular store was asked to wait a few days for a particular spare part or component of a computer to arrive at the warehouse. Therefore, in order not to wait for the necessary item in the store, it is better to buy it yourself through the Internet. This is what many do.

3. On the third place of sales on the Internet are mobile communication devices: tablet personal computers, smartphones and phones. The widest selection of phone and tablet models, attractive prices, safe delivery, as well as warranty service attracts buyers to make the purchase of this group of goods through the Internet.

4. In fourth place, the most popular Russian goods sold via the Internet are cosmetics and perfumes. And these products are bought mainly by women, since they have greater purchasing power, unlike men. It should be noted that the price of this category of goods in online stores is lower than in retail ordinary stores, and the range is wider. In the online store you can read real customer reviews about the selected product and watch a video review about it, which makes shopping more convenient.

Cosmetics are a more popular product, since the female half of humanity is oriented towards well-known manufacturers and usually already has experience in using one or another product. But buying perfumes in an online store is more difficult, because you want to feel the expensive aroma before buying. Therefore, well-known perfume brands and well-advertised brands are most often sold well.

5. Fifth place is occupied by children's goods. This group of products is universal, and therefore quite popular. A large selection of assortment, bright colors, the availability of the right sizes and an affordable price category compared to the retail network, a convenient search engine that separates the goods according to the age categories of children attract users of Internet resources - potential customers.

6. In sixth place online sales is software. This product is universal, regardless of gender, age, weight category, religion and life position. Software buyers are often commercial firms, large enterprises, government agencies, large retail chains of computer peripherals, as well as ordinary users who care about the security of their personal devices and personal data. The best-selling software is anti-virus programs, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office office suites, and other programs for personal and commercial purposes.

7. Seventh place is occupied by purchases of clothes on the Internet. It is very popular to order clothes on the Internet right now, the advantages of such purchases are obvious - the choice of models is huge and it is constantly updated, the size range is always available, the style of clothes can be viewed on the model according to the photo, there are reviews of real customers. But, at the same time, despite significant advantages, disadvantages in this paragraph also exist. First of all, this is the risk of buying - not everyone knows their size exactly, and those who know are not always sure of the right choice, as often each manufacturer has its own patterns for sewing clothes, respectively, and their own dimensional grid. Therefore, not everyone decides to buy things "by eye".

8. The eighth place of online sales is occupied by payment cards. These are cards with which you can pay for any product, cellular communications (for example, an invoice on a mobile phone), cable TV and Internet services, purchase of software, as well as entertainment programs (paid games, various mobile applications in AppStore or Google stores Play Market). It is easy to replenish money with such cards without even leaving your home, and on some services you can do this even without removing a commission.

9. In ninth place are online sales of various tickets, namely: for movie shows in cinemas, for concerts of artists, operas, theaters, soccer, hockey, basketball, and various show programs. On the same line of the Internet sales rating are ticket sales for passenger transportation - trains, buses and airplanes. With the help of such online shopping, a person saves his time on waiting in lines and trips to the airport or bus station. You can also pay for tickets online using a payment card.

10. The tenth place is occupied by sales of overall household appliances. Why is this product category not so popular for shopping on the Internet? This is obvious, a large product is usually expensive, not every buyer can afford to buy an expensive product without looking at it so to speak “live”. After all, it is necessary to inspect the product, check its integrity, serviceability, functionality, packaging and other qualities. Also, many buyers during the purchase of complex equipment have a number of questions that only a store consultant can solve. Therefore, these products are rarely ordered in online stores, preferring real equipment stores in their city. The second inconvenient moment to buy is the large weight and dimensions of the purchase, delivery of a refrigerator, TV or washing machine to the desired city can be very expensive for the buyer, much more expensive than its cost.

Despite the large dimensions and weight, many buyers have recently ordered furniture in online stores. If you carefully search, it’s realistic to find inexpensive options that even with delivery to the city you need will be cheaper than buying the same product in a local furniture store.

The sales of goods in ordinary stores and on the Internet depends on two factors:

Attractive price, lower than in retail stores, inexpensive delivery. Small inexpensive goods are very popular for shopping in online stores, therefore, a large sales volume makes them a hot commodity;

Universality of some groups of goods. Almost all small household appliances are bought on the Internet, therefore, being in first place in terms of popularity of online sales, it is the best-selling product in Russia, because such a product suits a large audience of people.
