Preparatory stage

Cover with newspapers, waste paper or a special oilcloth the table on which you are going to make. Prepare all the necessary materials so that in the process you are not distracted by their searches.

You will need:

  • pans
  • glass containers;
  • a spoon;
  • water - five glasses;
  • flour - one cup;
  • newspapers or consumer paper;
  • balloon;
  • primer;
  • tassels;
  • paints (acrylic or gouache, diluted with PVA glue);
  • scissors;
  • hot glue;
  • sleeve from toilet paper;
  • plastic plate (cake stand).

The globe needs a foundation. Therefore, you need to figure out how to make a ball of paper with your own hands. Ideally, you need a round balloon. Choose the diameter with which you want to make the globe. Inflate the ball and tie it tightly. Put it on a cup or any other convenient container that can serve as a stand. If you want to make the most realistic layout of the planet, then try to achieve a slightly flattened shape. If you find only a standard oval ball, simply inflate it slightly.

Cook paste

Before you make a globe with your own hands out of paper, you need to prepare a binder solution - a paste. Pour four glasses of water into a saucepan and put on a fire to boil. Meanwhile, in a different bowl, knead the flour with the rest of the liquid. As soon as the water boils, gradually introduce the mixture into it, stirring constantly.

Reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for a couple of minutes. Do not stop stirring, otherwise it will burn. Ready paste can be put in a cool place so that it cools faster.

How to make a paper ball with your own hands

Narrow the newspaper with your hands into small strips or squares. Lubricate the balloon with oil or petroleum jelly. Put a pan with a binder solution in front of you. Dip newspaper pieces in a paste and apply to a ball. So make some layers. Do not forget to leave a small hole through which you will then take out the ball. Cover the remaining paste with a tight lid or plastic bag. Leave to dry the workpiece for a day.

Preheat the adhesive mixture and repeat the whole process. That is, wrap the ball with pieces of paper and let it dry. In principle, you can stop at this stage. But the more layers of paper, the stronger the ball will be.

We are already approaching how to make a globe with your own hands. From paper we made not completely closed blank, but with a small hole. Pierce a balloon through it or untie the tip and blow it off. Do not release the tail, hold it with your fingers. Remove the balloon. The result was a hollow blank of papier-mâché in the shape of a ball.

We paint and create continents

Cover the future globe with a primer and let dry. Now paint the ball blue. So simulate the oceans and seas. By hand or using stencils, draw continents with a pencil. Paint them with green, brown, yellow and white paints, drawing on a real layout. Optionally sign the names of continents, reservoirs, islands, and so on. Now it remains to make a stand to get a desktop globe. But first, consider how else you can make a map of the world.

Other options for creating continents

Paint the globe in blue. We cut ready-made continents from paper and glue to the ball. The card can be left white so that during the learning process the child himself paints the continents and water spaces in the desired colors. And you can completely cover the globe with blue paper, and then apply the continents.

The easiest way is to transfer a ready-made map of the world. Some craftsmen process the image in a graphical editor: enlarge, stretch, and then print and paste. And you can do even simpler - take as a basis the ready-made layout of the globe from paper. For example, you can use the image above, resizing it to the desired size.

Globe stand

Take a toilet paper sleeve, make cuts on one side and bend it. Apply hot glue to them and attach to the middle of the plastic plate. Instead, you can take the bottom of the round box from under the cake. If necessary, expand the hole in the globe. Insert the other side of the sleeve previously lubricated with glue into it. The desktop globe is ready. If the blank from papier-mâché turned out to be quite weighty, then weight the stand with plaster or use a container with sufficient weight instead of a plate.

How else to make the basis for the globe

  • Just crumple the newspapers and wrap paper in several layers until you get something that looks like a ball. The method is simple and quick, but not neat.
  • Buy a ready-made foam blank.
  • Use Christmas balls if you want to make a small globe.

Take volleyball, football, gymnastics or another ball of suitable diameter as the basis. On them you can immediately draw or paste the continents. And you can use them as a form for papier-mâché. Only the paper blank will have to be cut to retrieve the ball. But you can attach loops to the halves and turn the model of the planet into a box.

5) Then we glue the prepared ball with glue and apply strips of newspapers. So glue the entire surface. To make the globe durable, stick the newspaper in several layers.

6) The drying process. The paper may dry in half a day, but it is best to leave the ball for a longer time.

7) We make a cone from a sheet of cardboard and glue its edges so that it does not unwind. It will be a stand for the globe.

8) When the workpiece has dried, draw the contours of the continents on it with a pencil.

9) Now we begin to decorate. Try to decorate also in several layers, so that the globe becomes saturated colors. In order to convey naturalness to the globe, remember the depth of the oceans and seas, forests and mountains are always darker. Do not forget to let each coat of paint dry. You can decorate and stand.

10) It remains to fix the finished globe on the cone. The tip can be trimmed or hidden by gluing the ball onto the cone.

How to make a globe out of paper

To get started, and print it on the printer. By the way, you can print it on colored paper for printers - make crafts of any color.

Then we take and cut everything along the lines. And in order to better bend the details, the author makes a scoring with a regular ballpoint pen along the ruler in the places of bends. That is, he simply presses the handle along the ruler at the folds - thereby forming a groove along which it will be easier to bend the paper evenly.

The entire map on the globe is attached by an internal frame. Octagonal parts with three horizontal lines need to be cut, cut into the bottom of the hole along the inner three lines and bent in half along the dashed line.

The remaining three octagons are cut out, cut all the lines around the perimeter. And then we connect all the details into the slots made as shown in the figure. We connect all the folded octagons with three, having the largest in the center and the smaller ones on the sides filling the entire perimeter.

Then simply insert the parts with the map into the folded parts of the octagons as shown in the photo.

Collect carefully in accordance with the terrain, although the diagram has all the identification marks - pay attention to them.

Every year on the first Saturday of October we celebrate such a wonderful holiday as “Teacher's Day”. And every year the same question arises: “What gift should I give to my beloved teacher?” Each child wants to please his teacher with something special. Children really like to create gifts for their teachers with their own hands. And it is right! Someone will write a poem, someone will draw a still life, and someone will make a card with tender wishes. And for those who have not been able to decide which gift is best to make, we present our master class on making a globe with your own hands, using the Spider Web technique. First, let's remember what is a globe?

Well, now I propose to proceed directly to the manufacture of our miracle gift.

To do this, we will need : crepe paper (blue, green), velvet colored paper, threads (blue, blue, green), a sour cream cup, ball, Crystal glue, PVA glue, skewers 6 pcs., alabaster, cotton pad 2 pcs. , button 2 pcs., synthetic winterizer.

To make the “body” of our globe, we need PVA glue, an inflated ball (medium size), a needle and three-color threads. We put a thread into the needle (first blue, then blue and green), pierce the bubble with glue, and stretching through it the threads begin to wrap our ball (pre-lubricated with petroleum jelly or any other cream).

Then you need to give our "ball" to dry thoroughly.

While it dries, we will begin to manufacture mounts for our globe. To do this, we take the wire and form from it a frame of the desired shape and size. And then tightly wrap it with a woolen thread.

Our foundation is ready, so it's time to make an “axis” around which everything will rotate. To do this, we need 6 skewers glued together with Crystal glue, and wrapped with a woolen thread to match our fastener.

After complete drying, you can do the manufacture of the "body" of our globe. The first thing we must do is to remove the ball we do not need, for this we pierce it and carefully remove it. Next, fill the “ball” with synthetic winterizer, as densely as possible. We glue the "continents" cut out of velvet colored paper using the Crystal glue.

Glue the cut cotton pads to the places of the alleged “poles”. We also use Crystal glue.

So, all the details are almost ready, you can do the assembly. We dress the “body” of the globe on the “axis”, fix it at the base and from both ends we fix the earlier prepared buttons.

And now let's get down to making the base, in which we will subsequently fix our globe.

To do this, we wrap the crepe glass under the crepe - with paper and decorate it with a woolen thread.

Well, our wonderful globe is ready!
