Bath in the country (35 photos): ways of arranging and finishing

The old bath in the summer cottage has long ceased to be the only place to maintain personal hygiene, and a normal modern bathroom in the country is becoming more common. We want to consider the main ways of organizing the interior and arranging a country bathroom.

Bathroom in a country house

Peculiarities

Previously, most of our citizens perceived the dacha as a large vegetable garden or a small garden, and there was no need to talk about amenities. However, today the attitude has noticeably changed, and many want to be able to fully live and relax in their own country house.

However, suburban housing, as a rule, is less suitable for arranging sanitary facilities and installing equipment for water procedures.

Unlike urban housing, there are such features:

  • There is no centralized water supply. To equip a full-fledged bathroom, it is necessary to ensure the supply of usable water, it can be a well, a well or a spring equipped with a pump and pipeline;
  • There is no centralized sewerage system. Used water must be diverted, in addition, it must be cleaned or disposed of using a sewer. To do this, it is necessary to build a water outlet from the bathroom to a septic tank or a collector tank, where the sewage will be cleaned and discharged into the ground or removed by the sewer;
  • There is no room specially allocated and intended for water procedures. You will need not only to find a room for the bathroom, but also to prepare it for normal use: waterproof the walls, floor and ceiling, insulate the building envelope, connect communications, make a suitable finish;
  • There is no special hood. Good ventilation is a prerequisite for the operation of any room with high humidity, so you will have to take care of a competent ventilation system.

You should also pay attention to the type of building that you have built. Country houses from block containers are very different from capital housing, and these differences must be taken into account. Wooden structures need appropriate processing.

Bathroom furniture should be selected taking into account humidity. Not every product is able to serve for a long time in a steam room, so it is better to buy specialized varieties.

Important! If it is not used, then the supply and sewage system must have a tap for draining water from the pipes, otherwise they will break during the crystallization of the liquid in winter.

Varieties

Now consider the options for organizing bathrooms, which are most often used by modern summer residents.

  1. Summer shower. The simplest and cheapest option, which is a small room on the site, equipped with a tray and shower. Instead of a pallet, they often put plastic bathtubs for giving;
  2. Freestanding bath or. This is the most expensive option, since it requires the construction of a new building, the purchase or construction of furnace equipment, the price of which is very significant, the organization of water supply and drainage;
  3. Bathroom inside the house. The most comfortable and affordable option.

Important! Electricity is required for the normal functioning of autonomous water supply systems. If you do not have a centralized network, renting a diesel generator for a summer residence will help you.

Preparation and finishing of the bathroom

For those who are going to work with their own hands, we have compiled a small instruction that will help you understand the basic principles of preparing and finishing a bathroom:

  1. We clean the selected room from foreign objects and furniture, remove the old finish from the walls and floor, wash off the whitewash from the ceiling;

  1. We dismantle the old floor screed and bring the sewer pipe;

  1. We cover the floor with construction polyethylene, lay the reinforcing mesh and fill in a new screed. It is better to use a special mixture for wet rooms;

  1. We lay electrical wiring and water pipes;

  1. We carry out plastering of the walls with a special waterproof composition, in the upper part of the wall we make a hole for the hood, in the lower part of the opposite wall - for air supply;

  1. The walls and floor are covered with ceramic tiles, the seams are sealed with waterproof epoxy grout;

  1. We paint the ceiling with waterproof acrylic paint;

  1. Installing a bath. Plastic bathtubs for summer cottages have proven themselves well - they are lighter and cheaper than cast iron ones. We put a washbasin, a boiler and connect the appliances to the water supply and sewerage.

Important! Before installing the bath, make sure that the ceiling can support its weight, taking into account the weight of the screed and tiles.
