How to make a screen for a room yourself. Do-it-yourself screen - how to make decorative from cardboard, fabric, plywood step by step with a photo

The screen-partition is an excellent invention. In a living room or bedroom, it can bring a lot of benefits, and being made to match the environment, it can also become a stylish decor element. Behind the screen, you can quickly change clothes (even with guests in the house), retire to read and relax. They divide the room into separate zones, fence off the child's bed, use it as a backdrop for home photo shoots.

Of course, many screens are sold ready-made. On the other hand, making such an accessory with your own hands is not at all difficult. We offer you a small master class "Do-it-yourself screen". At the same time, you will enjoy the creative process and, which is important, the thing is exactly to your taste. When creating it, drawings are practically not required - this design is not so complicated.

Master class "Screen with your own hands". The easiest option

For work, we stock up on ready-made shelving side racks, acrylic enamel of the color we like (black will look especially stylish) and a brush, a pair of long (about 17 cm each) or door hinges in a larger quantity (about 6 pieces) and felt or metal heels for chairs, and also with a cloth.

From the tools, take care of the presence of a hammer, scissors, a screwdriver with screws, an iron and a staple.

First, the vertical supports are covered with enamel. Then panels are cut out of the fabric in the intended quantity (for example, there will be three of them). On the upper and lower edges we leave about 10 cm as allowances, on the sides - about two. All of them are rolled up and ironed.

The fabric is laid down on a flat surface "face down" and is strongly stretched. A crossbar-stand is placed on top, wrapped with the edge of the fabric, which should then be turned inside out and well secured with staples. Then the stretched fabric is attached and fixed at the bottom. The operation is repeated for the remaining parts of the screen in the same sequence.

The racks are connected with piano or door hinges, then thrust bearings are attached to the legs. That's all - a simple screen is ready!

Master class number 2. More difficult option

Now another master class. A do-it-yourself screen in this case is performed in a more complex technique that requires some skills from a home master. The construction of our partition consists of several hinged frames. The filled frames can be anything. In this case, we suggest pulling a hand-painted fabric over the frames. But first, let's take care of the carrier base.

Having decided on the dimensions (height and width), we prepare the required number of wooden slats. You can choose their cross-section, say, 6 x 2 cm. If you find it difficult with the width, then we will tell you: the optimal size is about 65 cm. Each frame will have to be assembled using glue, for which special grooves are cut out at the ends. They are marked on slats in width.

Using a hacksaw, we cut along the markings to half the depth, select wood with a chisel. We assemble the frames, planting them on carpentry glue, fix the connections with clamps. We attach door hinges to the upper and lower parts of the frames.

Moving on to the decor

Now let's take care of the fabric, which we will use to fill in the gaps in the screen. On a plain material, using a stencil, we apply a pattern (for example, flowers). If you could not come up with your own ornament, the template can always be found in different sources. The stencil is cut with a wallpaper knife or scalpel.

In the case when a children's screen is being mastered, you can decorate it with animals or any "cartoon" motives with your own hands.

Dip a small roller into the paint for textiles purchased in advance and roll the fabric over a stencil. It doesn't matter if the edges of the flowers come out slightly blurry. Each time we lay a sheet with a stencil on the fabric in an arbitrary direction, so the drawing will come out more picturesque. In addition, the fabric can be additionally decorated with elements sewn on top (soft fabric flowers to match, for example, from gauze).

The fabric is pulled over the frame and secured with a stapler. It is possible to arrange a screen from the inside out with platbands made of thin strips of fiberboard. By the way, it is not at all necessary to fill the screen canvases with fabric. Instead, you can insert sheets of fiberboard or thin plywood (or even very thick cardboard) into the frames, pre-pasted with wallpaper to match the walls or, on the contrary, with contrasting ones. Just be careful not to get too variegated.

A screen is a universal element of the interior that allows you to divide the space of a room into separate zones. This is the best option for small apartments, allowing you to hide a sleeping place from prying eyes, designate a study or dressing room. Screens have a folding design, they are removed and put in the right place when needed. Handmade lovers can easily make a structure, showing imagination in the choice of design and colors. The screen for the room is made by hand, relying on the general stylistic direction of the interior.

All partitions have a common design - they consist of several frames covered with canvas. Fabric, paper, leather, vines, plywood and more exotic materials are used as decoration. The impression of lightness and airiness is produced by the structure, the doors of which are decorated with translucent fabric or lace. If you need a solid screen, you should use a plywood frame. The original decor will be the image of parts of the pattern on each sash, and when the screen is opened, the overall composition will appear.

The standard number of sections is 3-4, but you can increase them to the required size of the structure. The height of the partition is taken slightly higher than the height of a person, and is 170-200 cm. Wood or metal is used for the frame. Assembling the screen yourself, it is easier to work with wooden blocks.

What is required for manufacturing

Screen material:

  • wooden blocks 40 × 40 mm, 6 pcs. 180 cm, 6 pcs. 50 cm each;
  • fabric (linen, silk, cotton);
  • braid;
  • door hinges - 6 pcs;
  • wood paint, stain or varnish;
  • screws;
  • joiner's glue.

Tools for the job:

  • tape measure and pencil;
  • scissors;
  • sander or sandpaper;
  • stapler;
  • brush.

Manufacturing of frames

You can connect the frames for the screen in several ways: twist with screws, use wood glue, or combine both methods.

All blocks prepared for the frame are processed with a grinder or sandpaper to a smooth surface on which the hand glides without interference. The joints are marked on the workpieces; for this, 15 cm recede from each edge of the long bar. The short part is placed between two vertical posts at the marked level and screwed with a screw. The junction is treated with wood putty, and after drying it is sanded. All three frames are assembled according to the same scheme. Finished frames are coated with paint. If you want to keep the structure of the material alive, you can apply varnish or stain.

Joining parts of the frame without screws will require more effort and skill, you will need to make cuts at the ends of the parts. Having departed from the edge of each plank 6 cm, a line is outlined along which sawing is performed to the middle of the part. To remove layers of wood, use a hammer and chisel. This is a difficult and painstaking job, and care must be taken not to injure yourself. The wood is removed in layers from the edge to the cut. Joiner's glue is applied to the surface of all the grooves and the parts are pressed against each other, forming a rectangular frame for the partition. Finished frames are sanded and coated with paint or varnish. For reliability, you can fix the corners with special plates.

Cloth for a screen

The fabric for the partition is cut to the size of the frame; 3 canvases of the same size are required. To give originality on the canvas, you can make an author's embroidery, decorate it with beads, ribbons or stones. Additional pockets, hooks and clothes hangers will become functional elements.

Advice for decorating the base: on a plain canvas, selected in the color of the walls, you can make any pattern you like using a stencil cut from cardboard. The template is applied to the canvas and rolled with a paint roller with acrylic paint. As a result, your screen-partition will have a unique color.

First, the fabric is fixed in the upper part; for this, a furniture stapler with staples is used. Next, the fabric is stretched and fixed from below, the side parts are fixed last. The material should be aligned evenly and symmetrically with respect to all sides of the frame. In order to aesthetically design the inner part of the structure, on which the fabric is fixed, it is necessary to glue decorative braid around the perimeter.

Screen assembly

When all parts of the structure are ready, you need to screw on the door hinges. From the top and bottom edges of each frame on the inside, 20 cm is marked. These will be the locations for the hinges. The prepared hinges will connect the frames of the structure in two places. The hinges are fixed to wooden blocks with screws. The folding partition is ready. For ease of movement, you can screw the wheels to the bottom.

A stylish, beautiful and necessary thing, made by yourself, will become an irreplaceable detail of the interior and a source of pride.

Below is an example of making a Chinese-style screen with stained glass:

For many centuries, partition screens have been used for interior decoration. They were installed both in the huts of the poor and in wealthy houses. Now this solution has become popular again and is actively used for zoning premises. With the help of a screen in a small apartment, you can separate a certain area and give the interior a charm and a shade of the past, and you can do it simply and quickly with your own hands.

Advantages and disadvantages of using partition screens for zoning space in a room

Often there is a need to organize the space in a house or apartment so that it meets the needs of all household members and provides each of them with the necessary level of comfort. In order to create capital partitions, you need to obtain special permits. In addition, the construction of a partition requires not only time and certain skills, but also significant financial investments.

In order to make the zoning of the room as simple as possible, partition screens are used. If you correctly perform the division into zones using mobile partitions, the room will visually become more spacious and comfortable. Such screens can be installed in any part of the room, the main thing is that they fit organically into the design of the room.

Partition screens are especially convenient for zoning a room in a studio apartment

The screen-partition is a lightweight portable structure consisting of several panels connected to each other on hinges. The frames can contain opaque or translucent material.

Partition screens can be used not only in studio apartments, but also in a large hall, bedroom and even in the bathroom. The popularity of this solution is due to the following advantages:

This solution also has certain disadvantages:

  • limited zoning - since the separation of zones occurs only visually, the screen does not prevent penetration into the fenced space;
  • low sound insulation;
  • little stability. This indicator depends on the opening angle of the valves. Maximum stability is reached when it is 90 o.

Varieties of partition screens

There is a wide variety of screens, partitions, and their choice is carried out taking into account the task and the design of the room. In the nursery, this solution allows you to separate the play area from the place of rest and study. A screen between the kitchen and the dining room will hide the hostess from guests so that she can calmly prepare snacks.

When choosing a screen-partition, the following parameters must be taken into account:

  1. Light transmittance. There are transparent, translucent and blank screens. Deaf structures are suitable for separating the recreation area, and when there is one window in the room, it is better to install a transparent or translucent option.

    Translucent screen suitable for rooms with one window

  2. Functionality. In addition to the fact that the screen helps to divide the space of the room, it can also act as a rack and place for storing various things. For this, pockets or shelves are attached to it.
  3. Construction type. Screens-partitions can be stationary (attached to the wall, floor or ceiling) or mobile.
  4. Manufacturing material. Partitions are made from:

Folding screens

Folding structures consist of a rigid frame, the individual elements of which are hinged by means of furniture or piano hinges and are folded like an accordion. Usually 3-4 doors are used, but there may be more, it all depends on what size is needed in a particular room. The height of such a structure is usually 1.5–1.8 m, the width of the valves is 40–60 cm.

The doors can be either deaf, that is, made of wood, plastic or other material, or translucent. To create expensive exclusive models, forging, stained glass, and natural leather trim can be used.

A folding screen usually has 3-4 wings, but there may be more

Single screen screens

A single-screen screen consists of one sash. It cannot fold, so the storage process becomes more complicated. Despite this, such a solution completely copes with the task of dividing a room into zones.

Single-wing screens are installed both in residential and public areas. At home, they use them to separate certain areas of the room, in offices - workplaces, in cafes - separate tables, and in a hospital - a doctor's area, etc.

A single screen is difficult to store when not in use

Legs or wheels can be used to fix such a screen. To facilitate the construction, its frame is usually covered with cloth or paper, but plastic, glass or other materials can also be used.

Flexible screens

The main difference between flexible screens is that in their manufacture, vertical posts are used, between which many thin elements are installed - these can be tubes, strips or slats, which are movably connected to each other. An option can be used when there are only vertical elements that are connected by flexible inserts. Thanks to this, the partition can be shaped in different ways, for example, in the form of a wave or a spiral. In addition, the design of flexible screens allows you to quickly and easily fold them, so they take up little space during storage.

Screens-panels

Screen-panel - one of the varieties of single-screen designs. Some designers indicate that this is a type of roller blinds that are attached to the ceiling. This solution is great for the bedroom to separate the sleeping area, but can be used in other rooms as well.

Usually, mesh or solid fabric is used for the manufacture of panels. If you use durable material, then you can even hang a TV on such a screen. The disadvantage of screen panels is that for their fastening the surface of the ceiling must be strong, so they cannot be installed on stretch ceilings.

Screen-panel is a type of roller blinds

Venetian blinds

Such a screen can be used for zoning a room, and when it is not needed - as blinds for windows. Such partitions are made of wood, plastic or plywood.

The fixation of the blinds depends on the task that it solves, and can be done:

  • to the ceiling;
  • to the floor and ceiling.

The ability to lower with cords allows you to quickly remove such a screen without dismantling it. There are options when the blinds are made motionless. This allows you to zone the space, but due to the presence of gaps in the screen, it turns out to be translucent and light.

Blinds can be fixed or closed and opened

Screens-books

Screen-book - one of the options for the folding partition. This design is made on the principle of a book and has two flaps of the same size. It is convenient to use it for fencing a place for changing clothes, when decorating a corner for photo shoots, etc.

Screen-book consists of two leaves

Manufacturing and installation of a screen-partition

To make a partition screen, you will need the following tools and materials:

Rope stops are used to limit the opening angle of the sash.

Screen made of wood

One of the most common options is to make a screen made of wood. To do this, first make a wooden frame, after which fabric, glass, paper or other material is fixed in it:

  1. Preparation of planks. Depending on how many flaps there will be, prepare vertical and transverse strips of the required length. When cutting, it is necessary that the ends of the planks be perpendicular.

    To create a screen, you will need a wooden bar with a section of 5x5 cm

  2. Forming grooves for connecting bars. With the help of a router, grooves are made on the sides and ends of the joined strips.

    A router is used to create the grooves.

  3. Creation of flaps. The finished grooves are coated with glue and the connecting elements cut from wood and exactly corresponding to the shape of the grooves are inserted into them. After that, the planks are connected. To make the fasteners more reliable, you can additionally use self-tapping screws.

    Vertical and horizontal strips are interconnected

  4. Frame painting. The doors are painted in the required color or tinted with a stain and varnished.

    The frame can be painted or varnished

  5. Glass preparation. Glass is cut out according to the inner size of the frame, after which a stained glass film is glued onto it.

    Stained-glass film is glued to the glass

  6. Inserting glass into the sash. The glass is inserted into the frame and fixed with glazing beads.

    Stained glass is inserted into the frame and fixed with glazing beads

  7. Sash connection. Loops are fixed to the ends of the prepared frames and all the doors are connected to each other.

    The assembled sash of the screen is connected with hinges

Instead of a mirror, the sash of the screen can be covered with a cloth. To do this, cut out the required size piece of fabric and carefully fix it on the frame with a stapler.

Cardboard screen

This is a simple and affordable solution. To create it, you will need cardboard pipes on which fabric or linoleum is wound. They can be taken for free or inexpensively bought at the nearest hardware store.

When assembled, the screen made of cardboard tubes turns into a compact package

Ropes are inserted into the prepared holes and tied into knots.

Single-screen plastic pipe screen

It is not difficult to make a one-screen screen from plastic pipes with your own hands, it turns out to be light and mobile. The work consists of several stages:

  1. Preparation of pipes. You can use both plastic and metal pipes, but the former is easier to work with, and the screen will be easier.
  2. Fastening support wheels. Wheels are attached to the board of the required length from below so that the structure can be moved, and from above there are flanges for fixing the pipes.
  3. Weighting pipe installation. To make the structure more stable, a metal pipe is fixed on the bottom of the board.

    A weight pipe is attached from below to ensure the stability of the screen

  4. Create a pipe frame. A horizontal and two vertical pipes are connected into a single structure, after which it is fixed in flanges fixed to the board. Corner elements are used to connect pipes. Plastic pipes are mounted using a special soldering iron.

  5. Frame finishing. You can hang the frame with any fabric. It should be of a suitable size and tight enough. You can sew a cover and put it on the finished partition, or you can use decorative loops with rivets.

    The fabric can be hung on the decorative loop-clamps

To decorate the partition, you can attach various stickers, appliques or ribbons to it. You can install a mobile screen in any chosen place. If it will be there permanently, then you can fix the structure by screwing it to the floor, wall or ceiling.

The use of a partition screen allows you to quickly and for little money update the interior of the room and make it more comfortable. The choice of the room zoning option must be done taking into account the general design of the room. If you understand the design of the screen and study the technology for performing work, then it is easy to do it yourself from scrap materials. Do not be afraid to show your creativity - this way you can create a convenient, functional and unique solution that will fulfill its functions and serve as a decoration for your home.

A screen-partition for a room is a somewhat forgotten element of the interior, equally worthy of being named both for decor and furniture. But it is in frivolity, inconstancy and the ability to instantly modulate the space of a room that the main advantages of this piece of furniture are manifested. And if necessary, the screen can be easily removed, thereby not taking up much space.

Classic models of screens consist of three separate sections, interconnected by hinges and folding like an accordion. The sash frame is usually made of lightweight material such as wood or plastic. For filling, textiles, leather, thick paper, twine, polycarbonate and other materials are used. Such screensavers work great as delimiters of living space in small rooms.

A lighter version of wooden partitions are screens, skillfully created from rattan or willow weaving. Pleasant and calm colors of products from amber to olive will emphasize the naturalness of the interior. Having decorated exquisite and weightless bamboo screens with climbing indoor plants, they can be used as a decor stylized as a garden gazebo.

Forged metal screens are visually light and transparent, but their structures are quite massive. Such products perform rather a decorative component, since in order to unfold or fold them, a certain effort must be made. In addition, if their feet are not fitted with heels, they can damage the flooring. Openwork and graceful, they will add a touch of romantic mood to the interior. Suitable for spacious rooms of private cottages or large apartments.

Universal screens-partitions with shelves or pockets can simultaneously separate one part of the room from another and act as racks and shelves. Taking into account preferences, books, figurines, vases and other decorative gizmos can be placed in the pockets and on the shelves of such screensavers. If you cover the desktop with such a screen, the pockets are used as pencil cases for office supplies.

The design of the screen-screen is a representative of the models of stationary placement. These screensavers do not fold and are permanently mounted to the floor. The screen frame can be made of wood or metal bar. The screen material can be plastic, textiles and even a braided metal cable. There are screen models of inexpensive room screens, the legs of which are equipped with wheels for free movement. They can be laid out, they are compact and suitable for modest apartments.

This design option will not only decorate a small room, but will relieve you of the feeling of constraint in square meters.

A screen made of openwork wooden lattice, painted white, creates a sense of celebration in the room and gives it an elegant and fresh look. At first glance, seemingly fragile, such a model is associated with a green garden, relaxation and the sea. If the location of the screen is determined as stationary, it can be decorated with decorative live or artificial plants.

Variants of using a screen for a children's room

Proof of the incredible versatility of the room screen-partition is its use in children's rooms. There are a lot of options and they are all functionally justified. You can install a screen with pockets for storing small bath accessories, and by equipping the partition with hooks, it is convenient to place some household clothes on it.

Recently, bathroom screens have become popular. Such designs look more presentable than traditional curtains, and due to the transparent filling, they do not overload the room. The bathroom screen allows you to use plumbing both for taking baths and as a shower stall. Such a barrier effectively protects the room from the ingress of water droplets when taking a shower.

There are several options for the design of the bathroom screen. This can be a model with a skeleton of several sections. Usually, the two outer sections are fixed stationary, while the other two move along the aluminum profile by means of rollers. The number of sashes in the model is determined by the layout of the bathroom and the position of the bath itself.

Frameless screens are made of 8 mm glass without frames. For accurate acceptance of water procedures, you can use a single-leaf fixed partition, fixed with the vertical side to the wall, horizontal to the side of the bathroom. There are screens with one panel attached to the wall by means of hinges, which allows it to open.

Where to buy a room divider

This will help not only photos of products, but also do-it-yourself screen master classes posted on the Internet. By creating such an element on your own, it is possible to embody your personal creative idea in it.

How to make a screen for a room with your own hands

The fact that a do-it-yourself partition-wall for a room will be much cheaper is beyond doubt, but, in addition, such a thing will have every chance of becoming a real decoration of the room. Making a simple screen is not difficult, and the fascinating process of making it will bring you a lot of pleasure.

Tools and materials for manufacturing

A small semi-antique screen will look appropriate in almost any room. Vintage elements of decor have long become an indispensable attribute of modern interiors: they create a nostalgic warm atmosphere in the room. In addition, having fenced off with a screen, it will be pleasant to sit in an armchair reading a fascinating book.

Before making a screen with your own hands, make sure that you have all the necessary tools and material in stock. To make a small wooden screen-partition, consisting of three sections, you will need:

  • a wooden bar with a section of 40 x 40 mm - to make a frame, you will need 6 bars about 2 m long and the same number of elements are slightly shorter;
  • a piece of fabric, preferably dense and opaque - to fill the sections of the screen;

  • pages with text or poems cut from books, newspapers, personal notebooks, diaries - for decorating the screen canvas. If you need any clippings in the future, you can just make copies for work;

  • tea brewing solution - needed to give the sheets of paper an aged look. It is advisable to prepare a strong solution;
  • scissors, paint brush, PVA glue, wood varnish;
  • hammer, square, tape measure, screwdriver;
  • nails, screws;
  • construction stapler - for fixing fabric to frames;
  • door sheds - you need 4 small neat hinges to connect the screen sections;
  • braid for decoration.

Sequence of work

Work begins with the assembly of the frame frames. The bars must be adjusted to the dimensions of the sash and connected into frames. When fastening the bars, you should use a square to maintain a right angle and prevent the flaps from skewing. The frame elements are connected to each other by means of self-tapping screws or nails. Finished structures are varnished and left to dry completely.

The next step will be to connect the sections to each other. First, using a tape measure on each sash, mark the hinge attachment points. It is necessary that the distance from the upper and lower lintels to the hinge for each of the three sections is at the same level. The hinges are neatly fixed with self-tapping screws.

Next, they start cutting the fabric. 3 pieces of the appropriate size are cut out of it. Before the fabric is attached to the frames, it is decorated. A tea solution is applied to the prepared paper pages with a brush. Before applying, the tea leaves should be thoroughly filtered through a fine strainer. To prevent the paper from wrinkling after drying, each processed sheet should be ironed with an iron. When all the sheets are dry, they are glued to the fabric.

Preparing semi-antique paper sheets

Each sheet is covered with a thin layer of PVA glue and glued to the canvases. When performing this procedure, care must be taken that the glue does not leak onto the fabric. After that, allow the glue to dry completely. The prepared fabric is filled in the sections of the screen. Using a stapler, a canvas is attached to one of the sides of the frame, and then, pulling the fabric, fix it to the rest of the frame elements. The recommended distance between the staples is 4-5 cm.

The final stage of work is to give the screen an aesthetic look. For this, the lines of fastening the fabric to the frame are closed with braid. This can be done with glue. Make sure that the tape lies exactly in relation to the direction of the frame elements. Your unique room divider is ready to use!

Zoning the space with the help of room screens-partitions allows you to change the configuration of the room on demand, giving the entire interior mystery and mystery. And as unnecessary, the almost weightless portable design quickly and easily folds up without cluttering the room.

Decorative partitions are designed to decorate the interior and delimit space. They have been known since ancient times. Compact, mobile and aesthetic screens were used hundreds and thousands of years ago in Egypt, the Roman Empire, Greece and China. Rich people decorated such partitions with various fabrics, precious stones and metals, inlays. With a screen, you can make the space cozy, or turn the structure into a real art object, adding decorativeness and theatricality. Make an element of the interior and zoning with your own hands.

Types of screens

A modern screen is of several types, depending on the structure, purpose and materials used. When choosing a design option, one must take into account the stylistic orientation and the place in which the product will be located. The main varieties by functional purpose:

  • Folding (sliding). Until recently, they were the only options for a screen. The product has a rigid frame on which fabric, paper or other material is stretched, and includes several frames connected to each other - 3–8 and more. If necessary, they are folded like an accordion and removed. Initially, the frame was made of wood, but later it was replaced by lighter aluminum.
  • Single screen. They include only one wide sash - it can be a frame made of any material with a cloth or paper stretched over it, or a sheet of plastic, plywood, chipboard or glass fixed on a stand. It is recommended to equip this option with casters.
  • Screen-book. Consists of a pair of valves of the same or different width. When it's time to rearrange it, the product can be easily folded into a book. This type of product can be used for holiday photo shoots or just for dressing up.
  • Flexible. For their manufacture, long thin sections (pipes, plates, slats) are used, which are interconnected. The structure is a single wall. The peculiarity of flexible products is that they can be put in a spiral, wave, or even twisted into a roll and put to the side.
  • Deaf. They consist of a different number of leaves, but their feature is complete opacity. For manufacturing, a solid board can be used (a screen made of plywood, chipboard, etc. is popular), a dense fabric stretched over a frame or cardboard inserted into the frame.
  • Transparent. Often they are transparent material stretched over a frame, for example, tulle, organza, or even starched gauze. Metal versions made using the air forging technique, or wooden models with openwork through carving are no less in demand.

Materials (edit)

Having decided to make a screen with your own hands, initially decide on a suitable material. Traditionally, this type of product was made of wood - slats or solid boards. Today, creativity and originality are valued, therefore, a variety of materials are used for the manufacture of partitions. Common options are:

  • Wood. A simple smooth board or material with a pattern cut on it, or a structure made of strips or beams will do. Differs in simplicity in processing, lightness and cheapness of plywood. You can even build a partition from old doors, having previously restored their panels and giving them a fresh look.
  • Plastic. Pipes of this material are widely used, which are suitable for creating frames or frames. They are cheaper than metal ones and weigh less. The product made of plastic pipes is easy to assemble and disassemble. Taking care of them is simple: you just need to periodically brush the dust from their surface. An alternative are plastic panels, it is very easy to make a partition from them. You can pick up several panels with the same pattern and connect them to each other. The finished divider is perfect for a bathroom, pool or garden shower.
  • Metal. Metal frames of a given shape are often used, which can be ordered from the master. Panels made of plastic, glass, wood are inserted into them, or fabric is stretched. The iron sheets look bulky and do not make the room cozy, but the ornament forged from rods will give the partition a spectacular look. Often, metal pipes with a diameter of no more than 5 cm are used to create a frame. A screen of this type will decorate a garden or courtyard.
  • Cardboard. Cheap and affordable material from which you can make a creative, original screen with your own hands. It is very easy to work with it, tk. you only need to cut out the parts in accordance with the diagram and fasten them into one canvas. Ready-made partitions are not suitable for the street, because they will quickly deteriorate under the influence of weather factors.
  • Branches. This includes reed, willow, bamboo. Screens from them are mobile, lightweight and visually simple. They go well with various styles in the interior: tropical, classic, empire, eco-style. Making them requires the performer to weave from a vine. The finished product will look great in the garden and will not deteriorate from wind, rain and sun if the material is properly processed.
  • CDs and vinyl records. These parts are connected to each other by means of staples or threads. As a result, an original openwork canvas is obtained, which can be written anywhere in the room in the form of a wave, a semicircle or in a straight line.

  2. Measure from the bottom edge 20 cm and mark each element (point A).
  3. Measure up a line 1 m long and make a new mark (point B).
  4. Next, mark point C in the center of each pipe. Drill holes in the indicated places.
  5. Pass the decorative rope: first at points A, then at B and C. After that, slide the pipes and tie the ropes on the sides of the screen with strong knots. The end result is a screen that looks like a reed or bamboo partition.

  2. Secure the wheels to the board with self-tapping screws.
  3. Fix the weight (metal pipe) on the underside of the base. Screw it on with a self-tapping screw and using the holders.
